Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters Thoughts

Hi everyone!!! So I FINALLY got to see the Percy Jackson Sea of Monsters movie last night and let me just say, it was AMAZING!!! And this is coming from a fan of the books... actually I'd go with a series fanatic! Seriously. I've read the books like a hundred times!

Okay so first of all, I'm going to get this out of the way. The movie is like 60% accurate and that's just my opinion. If you ask most other book lovers, they'd probably give you a lower number. But I personally loved the movie. I didn't think it was too cheesy or had too much child-like humor although that may just be due to the fact that I'm a child at heart! If you haven't read the books or seen the first movie, I'd say you could still follow the movie pretty well. Now just a warning, this may contain spoilers for the movie so if you haven't seen it yet or read the books, skip to the last paragraph!

So I liked how they were much more accurate to the books in this movie. Annabeth's hair, Dionysus and the oracle!!! Oh god the oracle! She was soooo creepy but totally spot on! She looked exactly like how I pictured her look and voice to be! Dionysus's portrayal was PERFECT! I loved the way he got everyone's names wrong and pushed Percy to the side for Clarisse and talked down to the half-bloods! The humor in this movie was spot-on, the action scenes and much of the CGI looked great! I loved the ending with Thalia and I loved Hermes! Oh and Grover in a dress! EPIC! I was a little afraid we wouldn't be able to see that scene from the books but we DID! The subtle chemistry between Percy and Annabeth was present too! I also liked the scene in the stomach of the sea monster and the scene with the cave. I DIED when Percy and Annabeth were singing Its a Small World Afterall and Clarisse yells at them to shut up! The beginning flashback was also great because I feel like it really set up the story of Thalia and the camp barrier!

Saying all that, I have to mention that there were some scenes that annoyed me... The first would have to be Luke surfing on the wave that Percy rode. I mean Percy walking on water is a given but Luke? That didn't make much sense. Since when did he become a son of Poseidon?  The second scene I didn't like was the scene when Tyson fell over the cliff and "died" but then you found out that he could heal with water like Percy could and I really didn't think Cyclopes were able to do that... Also the fact that they made it a huge deal that Tyson was a son of Poseidon when all Cyclops are sons of Poseidon. The final thing I didn't like was Kronos and Percy fighting in the end. Kronos was NEVER resembled like that so it seemed kind of weird. I was literally sitting in the theater with a WTF look...

But overall I do think that this movie was fairly accurate to the books with just a few minor setting and plot changes. I really do think that they fixed most of the storyline problems from the Lightening Thief in this one! I'd definitely recommend going out and seeing it. I'd give it a 4 out of 5! Thanks for tuning it!!

Vampire Diaries

Hey guys! Sorry for not posting in forever. I really don't have any excuse except for THE VAMPIRE DIARIES!!! I know I know! How did Allie get sucked into a vampire show? The truth is I HATED Twilight and I'm just not that huge of a fan of vampire shows because the producers always make the vampires soooo broody. You see I tried watching the first episode of Vampire Diaries almost a year ago and I hated Stefan. Elena was alright and I loved Damon. I knew Elena and Stefan were supposed to be a thing and I couldn't stand that so I stopped watching it.

Recently however, I found out that Claire Holt was playing Rebekah and Phoebe Tonkin was playing Hayley. I knew both girls from H20: Just Add Water and Phoebe was in The Secret Circle so I wanted to check out the episodes with them in it. The first episode with Claire was the one where Stefan and Klaus were looking for Gloria. I could handle this Stefan as he wasn't all annoying but the thing that caught me was Klaus and Rebekah! I loooooved the Original vampires and I literally watched a lot of the season 3 episodes for them. Slowly I started to like Elena and Damon as well and wished they would get together.

I probably didn't react how most fans did. While they probably wanted the Mystic Falls team to kill the Originals, I was there hoping that most of their plans failed. I mean I didn't really care too much about Kol and Finn's death or if anything happened to Elijah but I loved Rebekah and Klaus. I felt for those two. They were just lonely and wanted to be loved! Damon was pretty much the same. He hid his loneliness and pain behind a mask.

Vampire Elena was great except for when she was skipping around Stefan like an idiot. I literally rolled my eyes when Caroline realized that Elena was sired to Damon. Stefan during this time was SOOOOOO annoying! God! He was so vindictive and self-righteous! He was acting like it was Damon's fault that Elena was sired and then when they found out that the sire bond doesn't effect feelings, he jumped right onto the "let's find the cure" bandwagon because he hoped that the human Elena would come back and pick him. He doesn't deserve her love if he can't love her how she is now! The scenes between Elena and Damon were my favorite and I looooved the Graduation episode when Elena tells Damon that she's not sorry that she loves him!

I also loved Caroline and Klaus. Their interactions was absolutely adorable and you could FEEL the chemistry between them! I loved the Miss Mystic Falls episode in season 4 when Klaus and Caroline were on a date and he was reading her Miss Mystic application to her! And the graduation episode! My heart MELTED when he told her that Tyler may be her first love but he plans to be her last! Oh god! Stupid Originals show taking away one of my favorite parts of the Vampire Diaries. I did hear however that they aren't planning on Klaus having a new love interest soon but I will stab someone if he starts flirting with that CAMILLE girl! He and Caroline are (to quote Caroline herself) EPIC! Also wanted to mention, I hate Hayley... I understand why the producers had to make her pregnant but that doesn't mean I like it!

Katherine was funny as a character too. Hats off to Nina Dobrev for being able to act as both Elena and Katherine while being totally different! I can't wait to see how Katherine handles being a human although I have heard that she gets close to one of the Salvatores in season 5 and I will stab someone if it's Damon!

So all in all, I'm looking forward to season 5 of the Vampire Diaries and I SERIOUSLY hope there will be a LOT of crossovers between the Originals and the Vampire Diaries because I can't stand the idea that Caroline and Klaus will never meet again! I kind of do wish that Rebekah and Stefan would hook up again because I really did them better as a pair than Matt (thought he was freaking ANNOYING and it was totally his fault Elena was a vampire, I mean let's go for a drive and get away from Mystic Falls? ugh) and Rebekah. I probably will end up watching the Originals if not for just Klaus. If you don't watch the show, definitely check it out (at least from season 3 on because it's not too difficult to understand what's going on). Bye bye for now!
