What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

FINISHED Charming Adventures Of Sabrina Part 3

I went into this season excited to see how Sabrina would save Nick and where this world would take us only to come out of it low key meh. This season was a mixed bag cause there was stuff I enjoyed and stuff I disliked so in the end it landed somewhere around boring and over it. This might not be entirely fair of me to say cause this is obviously just one season out of many and I'm sure at some point the problems I had with this one will be resolved but as of now writing this review mere minutes after I finished this season I'm not happy with it. Part of this is cause I'm shipper trash and it always breaks my heart to watch the breakup season. It's why Arrow season 4 didn't work for me and why this one didn't. I loved Nick and Sabrina last season and their chemistry was so intense that they became my endgame ship despite going into this show for Ross Lynch which is why I was heartbroken to see that this whole season basically had Nick and Sabrina together for like 30 minutes out of the 8 hours! I did love what the show did with Nick and his PTSD no matter how much my heart hated it and I loved that he called out Sabrina for her shortcomings alongside her aunts. Sabrina 100% has this martyr complex and goes around doing everything as if she's right all the time damn the consequences until it blows up in her face and this was the part of the season that I wanted to explore more of but unfortunately with the whole time paradox it looks like we're going to take the easy route and not even see Sabrina struggle cause why would she go through any sort of pain? I like the idea of seeing different myths though and that we met Pan this season and I wonder if we'll see more in the future.

Welcome To Demon School Iruma-Kun Episode 17

This episode was another setup one cause we spent the entire time having our characters catch up to what we the audience already knew rather than move the plot forward. It low key sucks cause I remember how much fun I had when this show started and now it's starting to feel more like this anime had too many episodes to fill so half the time we're watching nothing happen. As it turns out Kiriwo's invisible barriers weren't just there to trap the entire school in one place but to sort of corral them into the plaza where I'm assuming he was going to try to hurt them all or something cause he definitely stole Iruma's firework thing and was powering up his magic weapon. The only reason I'm like nah he can't want to kill everyone is cause not only is this show much too lighthearted for something like that but I can't imagine Iruma's kindness speech (which I'm sure is coming next week) could change someone who wants to murder a school full of people. Having said that I'm sure Iruma will be able to talk Kiriwo down and then they'll set off the fireworks making the whole thing feel like their Battler surprise for the school but it leaves some questions yet to be answered like what's Baal's role in all this. As we're getting closer to the end I still don't see how Iruma can be Demon King unless the show is planning multiple seasons.

ID: Invaded Episode 5

This episode was full of twists and turns and it was awesome to watch though I picked up on what was going on pretty early on! I was actually right in guessing that the victim at the end of last week's episode who kissed Hondoumachi was actually the Gravedigger but it was super interesting to find out that the brain damage he suffered from Fukada caused him to mix up his love and urge to kill which is why he became the Gravedigger in the first place and why the police couldn't pick up his cognitive particles. Because he was feeling the urge to showcase his love to his girl, he wasn't emitting a killing vibe and it wasn't until he had the urge to kill Hondoumachi at the copycat crime scene in order to protect not only himself but the woman that he loved that his crossed wires caused him to kiss her and emit cognitive particles. I do wonder how much blame the police can assign the girlfriend cause it's like though the murders were for her and she obviously encouraged them, technically she didn't do anything illegal so could she go down as an accomplice or maybe for conspiracy to commit a murder? Once again I'm brought back to the thought that the holes in Fukada and this victim's heads clearly did something to their brains so I'm still curious to find out what Hondoumachi's change is. Sakaido wasn't in this episode much cause it was more focused on Hondoumachi and her story but it's interesting to note that she's just as good as Sakaido is at solving murders leading to my theory that maybe she'll be a well-jumper by the end of this anime too.

Batwoman Season 1 Episode 11

This was actually a fun episode cause it gave us all the Beth and Kate interactions we've been missing for so long while also giving us another look at how horrible Alice's past was. I had mentioned last week that this Beth was probs a Beth from another world that got trapped on our Earth after the multiple Earths combined but somehow was left separate from Alice and that's exactly what happened. This new Beth was saved by Kate after the car crash so she grew up with her father and Kate and was a good person but it was heartbreaking for Kate who realized that she could have saved her Beth too if she had tried and I high key wish the show would have spent more time on this cause it would have been such juicy trauma. I suppose it's still possible so I'm not going to give up hope yet. As the episode went on I wondered if maybe this new Beth was brought here so that in the future she would take the fall for Alice who would run and hide while Kate tried to get Beth out kind of like Barry who tried so hard to get his father out of prison. By the end of the episode however it looks more like Beth and Alice can't both be on this Earth cause they're getting splitting headaches so I have a feeling that Beth will die in the end cause if the show has to pick between another ally for Kate or an enemy, Alice has more interesting things to do. This sucks cause I was worried enough when it looked like Beth might die this week and I was so excited when she was okay. In other news we saw more of Alice's backstory and it's just as horrible as it was before but I'm surprised that Kate didn't tell Sophie or her dad about Beth.

There's no Batwoman next week cause it looks like the show will be taking 2 weeks off but the promo shows us that Alice finds out about Beth's existence which is kinda surprising cause it feels too soon! With the whole only one of us can survive thing like I said earlier I think it will end up being Alice but now I think that Sophie will end up shooting Beth thinking it's Alice cause of Jacob's order of shoot to kill which will further add to Jacob's horrible guilt and may be the thing that separates Kate from Sophie for good.

FINISHED Arrow Season 8 Episode 10

After 8 seasons and 168 episodes we've finally reached the end of this juggernaut of a show and I cannot describe to you the pain I felt watching this final hour of TV. Unless this is the first time you've ever checked out a review of mine you know that Arrow was the show that reminded me of my love for superhero content cause I used to watch a lot of the superhero cartoons (like X-Men Evolution and Static Shock to name a few) when I was younger but I stopped enjoying it as much somewhere around middle school but Arrow not only sucked me back into the Arrowverse and all the shows that would spin off from this but also superhero content in general which is why the end of Arrow feels like the end of an era. I don't know if I'll fall in love with another superhero show the way I did Arrow. I laughed, I cried, I cheered. Having said that I will never not be bitter that the Arrowverse decided that Oliver Queen had to die and that he had to be the one hero that doesn't get a happily ever after cause he was the one who deserved it more than anyone else! I hate that Felicity and William and Mia lose him but I suppose that for a series finale this episode did hit all the notes I wanted to. I loved that because of Crisis and the resetting of the universe that Moira and Quentin and Tommy and Emiko came back to life along with the Queen Mansion and it was so lovely seeing all of our previous Arrow characters come back for the funeral like Thea and Roy (who are going to get married!!) and Anatoli and Nyssa and Talia and even Ragman. The only thing I disliked was how Felicity didn't interact with William or Thea or Moira but I like to imagine that Felicity moves to the Queen Mansion with William and baby Mia alongside Moira. Both the private funeral and the public statue unveiling were absolutely lovely and I also love that despite Oliver dying Felicity still found her way to him. It does take a bit of the bitterness away that we saw a bit of the future and we know that Star City and the Queen Family make it out okay. Let's all pour one out for Arrow and it's incredible impact on tv. We'll never see another show like you but you'll be in our memories forever.

Riverdale Season 4 Episode 11

I don't entirely know how I feel about this episode cause while Archie and Veronica were up to their normal dumb antics, the show managed to pit Betty and Jughead against each other and that was heartbreaking cause you know I only watch this show for the two of them! Jughead's first draft for the Baxter book was turned down and for some reason they really wanted him to write about serial killers so his first thought was the Black Hood. Betty meanwhile was still struggling with the fact that she didn't get into Yale so her pride in Jughead was tangled up with that and it didn't help her emotional down-spiral when she found out that Jughead might want to write about her father. I don't entirely know who's side I was on cause though I think that Jughead was wrong in even thinking about writing about the Black Hood, Betty was also wrong for claiming that Jughead could only get into Yale cause of Stonewall. I mean he goes to a top academy, got perfect grades and has stellar writing but he's also struggled with homeliness and a drunk father and gang violence. Colleges eat that shit up! It was also high key ridiculous to find out that Betty only couldn't get in cause of her father but that's Riverdale for you and though at first it looked like Betty might just get into Yale through the Quiz Bowl, Bret ruined that and now Betty probably lost her last chance. Meanwhile Veronica was dumb enough to try to sell her new maple rum at her speakeasy where she doesn't have a liquor license and in the end she and Cheryl decided to reopen Penelope's brothel only now it'll be more of a high class bar and I'm just sitting here wondering why she can't sell her rum at stores or restaurants like normal people instead of doing all sorts of illegal things. Archie ended up taking Frank's side over Keller's despite Frank stealing money in order to gamble. He was also not very smart in turning down jobs based on who they were for as if he can pick and choose when the company is so far in the red.

Next week's promo showed us that Jughead and Bret will be dueling and I wonder if this will be how Jughead "dies" cause it'd totally make more sense than the idea that Betty, Veronica and Archie doing it when this season our Core 4 have barely ever spent any time together! 

The Magicians Season 5 Episode 3

Well it's episode 3 and I'm slowly coming around to the fact that Quentin is gone (but never forgotten!) and part of it is probs how much the characters on this show are mourning which is everything to me. At first I thought maybe the show kept trying to downplay Quentin and Eliot's relationship and I was about to be truly pissed this week but then I realized that in fact like Eliot wasn't around to see Josh and Margo fall in love, no one was around to see Quentin and Eliot fall in love either so of course they're all saying things like he was your close friend! I had said before that we're definitely going to see Eliot mourn and this was it. Alice was so sweet about the whole thing and it's why I loved that they went on this final journey together despite barely liking each other (it's one of those they have the same friend group but they're not friends themself things) cause they're the only ones who loved Quentin as more than a friend. I still don't understand what the Takers are but I wonder if they're somehow being controlled by the Dark King as a way to get Fillorians on his side? Either way we finally met him and he's being played by Sean Maguire who I adore and it's really making it hard for me to hate him!!! In other news Margo and Fen and Josh tried to get Margo's banishment marks removed through applying to be the Dark King's Centurian Guard and though Margo won in the end, the real twist was in the revelation that while Margo was gone Josh and Fen hooked up and dude I was shocked. This might actually be the end of their relationship and Fen was plenty pissed to find out that it was Eliot not Margo who saved them in the end. Meanwhile Penny and Julia went to find someone who could predict when the Apocalypse would happen and at first they were turned down cause the sisters had already saved the world once and lost a sister during it so they were afraid to try again but in the end they helped and we found out the Apocalypse is happening in two weeks which feels really fast tbh.

The promo for next week shows that The Dark King might want Eliot to join his Centurian Guard and we know that Margo is already there but I wonder if Alice will stick around or if she'll go back to Earth cause Eliot and Margo could use all the help they can get but at the same time so could Julia.

Harley Quinn Season 1 Episode 10

This was actually a really sad episode if you think about it cause it was all about Harley and how she hit rock bottom last week which made her struggle to find someone to be with. Even though she's part of the Legion of Doom, they don't entirely like her yet as evidenced by her not getting invites to parties and after she picked Joker over them, her Crew bounced and she didn't know that Ivy was kidnapped so she thought Ivy left her too. As a last resort she returned home hoping to find love there but instead found out that her parents hated her so much that they wanted to kill her and collect a million dollar bounty that was on her head and it was so sad to watch. I did like that in the end she realized that her true family wasn't them and that sometimes blood doesn't mean as much as it should. Ivy is her family and I can't wait until next week when she gets the crew back together to get them. What's also really interesting is the reveal that the person who kidnapped Ivy was Scarecrow and I'm really totally confused by this cause what does Scarecrow have against Ivy??

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

FINISHED The Witcher Season 1

So I know I'm like a month late to the party but better late than never right?? I had been wanting to check this show out for a while mostly cause of Henry Cavill and how smoking hot he looked in all the promo material but I was hesitant cause I kept hearing negative things about this show so when I finally bit the bullet I was surprised to find that pretty much from the second scene of episode 1, I was 100% on board! Having watched this first season, I don't know what people could possibly complain about cause this show is incredible from it's world to it's characters! I loved that we were thrown straight into the world without any exposition so we could slowly figure out everything and that we spent all season with our three main characters separated so we could know them as people before we brought them together. It was so creative to have all three living in different timelines before merging to one cause we got to see the characters (especially Geralt and Yennefer) at different points in their lives. Speaking of, I absolutely adored Geralt and Yennefer together and I will be utterly heartbroken if they don't end up together by the end! I love that while they have people around them that can see through these thick walls they've built around themselves, it's only when they're together that those walls actually come down. I don't have too many feelings about Ciri yet but I'm really hoping that the whole destiny thing is leading her to becoming a daughter for Geralt and Yennefer and not a future love interest for Geralt! I also understand that the Nilfgaardians want to rule the whole continent but I'm not entirely sure what that has to do with Ciri or why Fringilla was more powerful than all of the mages combined cause it was ridiculous seeing that final fight.

I'm high key heartbroken that we'll have to wait a year before the next season but rest assured that whenever it comes I will be back here to watch it!

Welcome To Demon School Iruma-Kun Episode 16

I was so annoyed with Iruma for being as naive as he was this week cause like on one hand I get wanting to trust in the upperclassman you like but it feels closer to Iruma projecting himself onto Kiriwo than anything else and it was low key ridiculous that he completely forgot about Kiriwo's secret room when they were searching for him. I suppose with the invisible walls going up, the Battler Party fireworks show isn't all that important anymore but still! It's interesting that this all feels like Kiriwo's plan more than Baal's or at the least Baal is just amused by chaos so he's like do whatever you want kid but he really should learn to act better cause the dude was practically shouting out I made up Sullivan's charges to keep him away from his school in that interrogation room. I also wonder if the worse part of Sullivan's arrest is the secretly going to the human world or the kidnapping a human child cause Ameri's dad seemed to emphasize holding a human against his will so I feel like as soon as he realizes that Iruma likes Sullivan, will the charges no longer matter? I do have a feeling that cause this show is a lighthearted one, Iruma will suddenly remember Kiriwo's secret room and then talk him out of his craziness but I really want a huge fight like the opening shows! 

ID: Invaded Episode 4

This show is just so fascinating! I'm always in this fun place of confusion and awe after each episode cause the techno-lingo is just so intense but I think as the show goes on I'm starting to understand a little more each time. Beyond the world I'm just fascinated with our male lead. I had said last week that I didn't understand why he was in this prison with all these serial killers when I thought he had only killed one person but this week we learn that he's been driving other serial killers to suicide and that it's been 5 so far. Sakaido is just so relatable cause I mean who else hasn't wanted to kill serial killers with how smug and arrogant they are but at the same time he's not physically doing anything to harm another person so how much of a killer would you count him to be? Yes he knows how to poke at their softest parts but like the saying goes you can lead a horse to water but you can't force him to drink. The case this week had such a sad ending with the police figuring out where the victim was only to find out later that the live video feed was actually a recording and that was straight heartbreaking especially once we saw Sakaido's face. He clearly is superimposing his daughter onto every victim that they lose and if that doesn't make you tear up, I don't know what will. I keep watching Hondoumachi carefully cause in the back of my mind I keep feeling as though she's supposed to be a young Sakaido and we're watching her descent into madness but she did run into one of Fukuda's missing victims at the end who I'm pretty sure is the Gravedigger we're looking for.

Batwoman Season 1 Episode 10

I was really curious to see if anything would really change this week after returning from Crisis but at the same time I was fairly certain that no big changes would occur cause like Black Lightning, Batwoman didn't seem to bring any storylines into Crisis and while at first I seemed to be right with a throwaway line about Oliver dying (that made my blood boil all over again), the episode ended and suddenly there was another Beth! The Arrowverse hasn't actually told us what happened when the Earths merged especially in terms of the same people across Earths but I had been going off of the assumption that they basically became one person so the fact that Beth stayed separate from Alice makes me wonder what's going on. Part of me wants to go back to the theory that Alice is actually someone who was locked up with Beth and that Beth told her everything so then Alice took over her identity but with Beth looking like Alice I'm not sure anymore. I also really loved that so much of this episode was about Kate struggling to figure out how much of herself she should expose to the world especially after the whole city was shipping her with a cop and like part of me thinks that she should have just listened to Luke cause the less people know anything about her the safer her secret but another part of me thinks that it's so uplifting that she came out in public so she could be a better role model. I loved that Kara was the one to do the interview cause of course who else would Kate trust to write this interview and not change things to lie?? I felt really bad for Mary all episode though and I was really glad that she and Kate eventually reconciled at the end though I still feel like this show treats her like an afterthought and you would think that being a girl power show the writers would write the sister dynamic a little better! 

Next week's promo showed us that Kate will be going to Mary and Luke about Beth appearing out of nowhere and I'm so glad cause I want Mary to have a bigger role in this show and I'm excited to find out what Beth is!

Arrow Season 8 Episode 9

I do have to admit that I was biased against this episode at first cause I wanted to see the impact of Crisis on Arrow and what happened to Oliver more than a backdoor pilot to the Green Arrow & The Canaries show that was going to replace Arrow especially with how little I cared about the flash forwards last season but honestly this backdoor pilot was a lot better than I expected it to be! We're no longer in that terrible future we had seen before and I love the idea of giving some people alternative memories alongside their current memories cause it gives us so much delicious angst to play with cause I mean can you imagine gaining memories of a world that never happened?? Would you believe in the people you know now or who they were before? Are you who you are now or who you were? I don't entirely know where Felicity is supposed to be in this future but William and Mia grew up as Queens in the Queen Mansion with William currently running Smoak Tech while Mia and JJ were engaged and Connor is a bit of a mess (though Sara Diggle is MIA.) Zoey is also alive and Mia's best friend and Rene is mayor and I'm so fascinated with everything cause it's the future I wanted from Arrow originally! After everything Oliver sacrificed, he deserved more than his city going to shit after he was gone. I loved that giving Mia her memories back didn't bring her back to the angsty stubborn girl from before cause I'm really into this new calmer version of her who had a happy childhood and I hope that JJ struggles more with who he is than just automatically becoming the old evil JJ. The reason that Dinah is in this future is a little sketch but I can let it slide cause it's all very Birds Of Prey and I'm so so down. It's interesting cause before this episode I was almost entirely sure that I wouldn't check Green Arrow & The Canaries but now I might actually be into what this show will be.

Next week is the series finale for Arrow and I already know that I'm going to cry and cry and cry. Emily Bett Rickards is back for one final appearance as Felicity and I'm really curious to see all the changes Crisis brought about beyond the small ones we saw in this future. Based on this backdoor pilot it does look like Oliver might be dead dead after all but a girl can hope anyway right??

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 5 Episode 2

We're finally back and man oh man have I been missing this show! I cannot explain to you the excitement and joy I get from watching the craziness that occurs on this show and we returned this season with an awesome premiere! The balance that this episode struck between wanting to be totally off the walls insane and Crisis aftermath was almost perfect and it's only cause I personally love Oliver and Arrow more than anything in the Arrowverse that I found the jokes about Oliver's death a little bitter but if I'm more objective I can say that it makes sense for everyone to be super chill about Oliver dying except for Sara since she was the only one who knew and loved him. I loved that she spent all episode processing her emotions and her pain cause it would have felt like a total copout if she went from Crisis straight back to comedy. I was also super thankful that the reason the whole cast felt like caricatures of themselves was actually cause of the documentary and not a new writing style for the show cause though the humor in this show is the best part, if the characters don't feel real it pulls you right out! The whole Legends being famous thing being rewritten at the end was awesome as well cause once again it felt too meta for my taste. I do want to give a shoutout to Behrad who's appeared for the first time this week and I love him already. He's such a hippie and seems to be baked all the time but he seems oddly competent too alongside the fact that he was the only one to reach out to Sara and ask her how she was doing. I expected to be low key upset with the show for Zari being replaced by him cause I loved Zari but instead now I just want Zari to join up alongside him. I also really liked that Nate almost immediately felt like something was missing from his life after they reset the timeline last season and I'm really curious to see how different Zari will be now that she and Behrad didn't live through that horrible future. I loved the ending where he was the only one to see Zari and that searching for her will be his mission this season! 

Next week looks interesting but I was most intrigued by the fact that Constantine was still around cause I thought the whole going to hell at the end of the episode thing might mean that like Nora and Mona the show was trying to shrink it's main cast a little.

Riverdale Season 4 Episode 10

Riverdale has returned for the second half of season 4 and though the episode was interesting, as a midseason premiere it was a bit of a let down. I do have to admit that I will never for the life of me understand what in the hell is happening with Jughead and his supposed death but as time goes on I'm more and more worried that Jughead might be dead for real cause I keep seeing how Cole Sprouse is booking other things but part of me keeps thinking that he must want to stay on the show so he can be with his real life girlfriend Lili right?? What really stings is how Jughead is living his best life right now so I hate the thought that he might lose it! I mean not only is he writing for his favorite children's mystery series but he just got into Yale undergrad and he and Betty seem to be going strong despite my worry that she is not okay with Jughead getting into Yale. Speaking of, Betty seems to have this thing for taking down Bret all of a sudden so she spends the episode trying to find proof of his misdeeds and fails only to gain a second chance through a quiz bowl which will be taking place next week. I'm still casually over here waiting to hear what her backup college plan is which might be silly cause this is Riverdale after all but it's not my fault that the show keeps bringing up college! Veronica and Cheryl decide to team up to make a new rum recipe that's one part Veronica's family rum and one part Cheryl's family maple syrup and that has to be one of the best ideas this show has come up with tbh. It's much better than the mess Cheryl went through in which she spent the episode fighting for control of the cheerleading squad from the new captain in the most ridiculous of storylines. Archie got to know his uncle who I can already tell is going to be trouble but poor dumb Archie's going to need half a season to figure out what I could tell in five minutes.

The promo for next week is showing us the quiz bowl that Stonewall will be having against Riverdale and it feels ridiculous but what can I say? I wonder if we won't get any more Jughead stuff cause supposedly his death happens in like a month so does that mean that we'll finally get to see the whole kit and kaboodle in four weeks?

The Magicians Season 5 Episode 2

I still don't understand what losing Quentin added to this show but here I am so I guess I'm still on board with where this show is going. Alice spent the episode with a golem of Quentin that she thought she made to decipher a letter that she found in Quentin's stuff but she actually brought a 12-year old Quentin back cause what she really wanted was to say goodbye to him and dudes I cried and cried all over again. Julia when she found out was furious but I was actually surprised she was surprised cause she should have known that like Quentin, Alice wouldn't stay still in the face of death. Margo and Eliot tried to bring Fen and Josh back to life through a series of hilarious hijinks while Eliot tried to ignore his feelings once again and was high key really mean to Margo about Josh but eventually they solved the problem by instead of going back 300 years, bringing all our main Fillory cast forward 300 years which is super creative cause I would have missed everyone! I'm also super looking forward to the episode where Eliot finally breaks and has the meltdown he needs to have in order to move on cause he's not dealing with Quentin's death in a healthy way. Also I low key need the show to stop calling Quentin and Eliot best friends cause though I preferred Quentin with Alice, Quentin and Eliot were clearly more than friends and it feels too close to queer baiting for the show. I did like that despite everything Eliot told Margo about moving on that he ended up trying to send a letter to Quentin despite it all though he hasn't sent it yet. Kady got her memories of the library depository she was interested in erased and with Penny's help she found out how but I'm curious to know who she pissed off now that the Library isn't a thing anymore. I'm also still waiting to find out what this supposed big world ending apocalypse is cause I thought it would have to do with turning the clock of Fillory back but since that didn't happen what will cause the apocalypse?

Next week we see Fen and Margo having to fight over what I'm assuming is a Fillorian way of determining who will become High King though it's possible that they also fight the Dark King whoever that is. Eliot will go to Alice with the possible letter and I really hope they send it but with how far the writers have dug their heels in about Quentin's death, I doubt it'll do anything.

Harley Quinn Season 1 Episode 9

This was a really fun episode and though it didn't actually follow what I thought had been Joker's evil plan to get Harley back last week it still led to the same outcome of separating her from her crew and Ivy. The second Joker had the chance, he dropped Harley and it was only cause the people in her life cared about her that they were furious about her life choices and it's interesting cause I get why they were upset but at the same time it feels like a terrible idea to give up on a friend in an abusive situation cause if they don't even have you to come to then they'll only stay in that terrible situation. Having said that Harley's not exactly a damsel and I definitely think this was the last straw for her cause it's only human nature to want to return to an ex after you think they've changed only to realize that no they are actually the same person they were before. I mean even Batman was disappointed! I still find the Bane is the worst villain in the DC universe the most hilarious thing ever but I am really worried for Ivy who probs should not have attacked that factory alone. I low key assumed that Harley might follow her anyway but now I think she'll end up saving her next week or maybe the week after when she realizes that Ivy is missing.

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

FINISHED Fairy Tail Season 8

I don't know if I ever mentioned Fairy Tail on this blog but in case I haven't I guess I should start with saying that this is quite possibly one of my most beloved animes of all time. For many their shounen anime is Naruto or Dragon Ball Z or One Piece but mine has always been Fairy Tail. I've spent countless years loving this show which is funny cause I'm usually not a shounen girl and of course there were highs and lows in watching this and sometimes I wanted to stop but the second the Fairy Tail theme started to swell I was screaming alongside the whole cast which is why it makes it both heartbreaking and heartwarming that this is supposed to be the final season of Fairy Tail. I loved that it felt so compact with little to no filler or wasted time though a part of me does thing is sucks that Acnalogia was our final boss rather than Zeref cause he was just so much more fascinating but in the end I don't entirely mind because both villains' ends came about perfectly. I loved Zeref and Mavis's tragic love story and that in the end the thing to bring an end to Zeref's suffering was true love while Acnalogia was defeated through all of the magic of the kingdom coming together to destroy him proving that humans are stronger than he ever believed. I loved the lookbacks to all the previous strong moments of Fairy Tail and that almost everyone had a happy ending and paired off romantically like Gajeel & Levy and Gray & Juvia and Jellal & Ersa though Lucy & Natsu were left up in the air. Overall it was a lovely conclusion to this lovely show that made me love almost every single character in the ensemble cast. Fairy Tail will forever have a place in my heart.

Welcome To Demon School Iruma-Kun Episode 15

I really thought that the Battler Party was going to take place in this episode cause I assumed that since Iruma and co build the fireworks machine last week that we had nothing else to do and tbh that was still true this week which made this episode feel like it was just trying to kill time until next week. We still don't really know anything new about Kiriwo or why he wants to destroy Babyls but it obviously has to do with how he doesn't like the demon ranking system but why he thinks destroying the school will stop that is super strange. We did see a glimpse of something that makes me think that maybe someone he loved died or left him cause of the ranking system which if were true would help with his motivations but even more unclear is what Baal gets out of it cause he's already one of the highest ranked demons so like why destroy a school? Sullivan is still in jail but he seems to be doing fine and I low key loved the button we got at the end about how Sullivan's interrogator ended up being a fan of his so he was replaced. I'm a bit worried that he'll end up missing Iruma's Battler Party stuff cause he's arrested and Iruma will be crushed cause he still doesn't know that Sullivan is in jail basically because of him.

ID: Invaded Episode 3

It's totally fascinating how much faster and easier it feels when the mystery is only limited to one episode rather than two but I get why the show did that cause now that we know how these wells work there's no need to drag out the mysteries. We did get a little character development alongside the mystery of the week with us learning that Hondoumachi though mostly still the same as she was before the drilling attack it seems now that having lost a little bit of her frontal lobe has made her a little more cold and emotionless when it comes to cases and death. Her partner claimed that it made her closer to what kind of person Sakaido was but I'm not sure why he seemed so bitter about the whole thing cause it feels horrible to be like Sakaido was an idiot for falling apart after his family's death. Speaking of Sakaido's family we learned a lot more about who he was was back then and how his family died. Though he was a homicide detective it sounded like he wasn't really all that interested in it despite spending all his time at work and barely being home but I wonder if this is just his regret and guilt talking cause I doubt with how fast his mind works and how easily he can solve cases that he wasn't into it at all. It was also interesting to see that he's being housed in the same jail as a lot of the other serial killers and honestly that feels a little too harsh! I mean we don't exactly know what he did after his family died but I can't imagine he went on a killing spree!

Crisis On Infinite Earths Part 4

We're finally back after a month off and honestly guys I'm just as low key disappointed as I was with the first three parts. Maybe these crossovers are just not for me cause you all know that Oliver is the love of my life and Arrow is my show so I'll never not be low key bitter about how he's used in them. I could give less of a shit about Kara or Barry so the fact that we had to watch Oliver die for the second time this crossover was heartbreaking. Why is his family and his life so much less important that Kara and Barry's? I do love that it is Oliver that is the glue that holds everyone together and that without him not only couldn't the Paragons have left the Vanishing Point but the universe couldn't have been reset. Having said that Oliver's treatment isn't the only thing that bugs me about this crossover but also the fact that there's pretty much no story in this. I mean we did learn a bit more about the Monitor and the Anti-Monitor's backstories in this episode but all-in-all we barely know why the Anti-Monitor does what he does. These four parts were basically being held together by cameo after cameo as evidenced by how little we even see our heroes fighting and though the fangirl in me doesn't mind, when I look at it more analytically I'm not content. I also could not give less of a shit about anything Lex and Kara did on the Monitor's planet so I pretty much zoned out for that. On the more positive side it was nice seeing old moments in Oliver's life (cause this was the Arrow part of the crossover) though it low key sucked that Emily Bett Rickards couldn't come back cause an Arrow lookback felt so empty without Felicity and I really screamed over the Ezra Miller appearance cause he was the one cameo I never expected to happen and low key he saves me from hating this episode! Props to Ezra Miller for agreeing to it and props to the Arrowverse for managing to do it!

Crisis On Infinite Earths Part 5

With this episode the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover came to an end and though part of me wants to say it fumbled it's way there, this episode was leagues better than Part 4 and honestly everything that I had a problem with in the previous episode was fixed here and part of me wonders if I liked it so much cause I watched them back to back. This episode did pretty well with tying up the story and any loose ends. I loved that the Anti-Monitor wasn't defeated with Oliver's death cause it would have felt too easy despite wanting Oliver's sacrifice to have the most meaning and I loved how much time was given to Sara and Barry and even Team Arrow to mourn Oliver cause I would have been bitter if they didn't. The comedy was on point especially with the Beebo appearance and it was nice to even get a second of Nate and Ava cause it's the first we're seeing of them since May last year! I also really love how though the multiverse still exists, it's changed enough to make Kara be on the same Earth as Barry and Oliver and the Legends though I guess it means now that Supergirl cannot do the world changing storylines like they did before. I'm also pretty sure though Black Lightning popped in, his Earth will probs still be fine when he returns to it. The final fight with the Anti-Monitor was great as was the way they science-d their way into getting rid of the Anti-Monitor despite being unable to permanently destroy anti-matter. Of all the parts I think Part 2 had the best extended cameos while Part 5 had the best story. Seeing the beginnings of the Justice League was also pretty awesome in the Hall of Justice to be and I loved all the tributes to Oliver but I have a feeling that until the final episode of Arrow airs I don't think I'll truly think that Oliver is dead dead. Overall I think if I turn my brain off this crossover was fun enough and it was worth the price alone to see all the cameos we did.

The Magicians Season 5 Episode 1

I'm not exactly proud of how much I cried this week. Part of it might have been cause I watched the premiere for this season right after watching The Vikings where a funeral for my favorite character Lagertha took place so I might have been in my feels when starting this episode or maybe it's cause I always find that the episode after a major death is the one that kills you emotionally. Quentin was actually one of my favorite characters and though I'm just as bitter as most of The Magicians audience out there about it, I love so much about this show that I decided to continue watching it though I really do feel the Quentin-sized hole in it. Alice was in mourning and I think it's actually super in character for her cause even back in Season 2 when our Quentin met an Alice from another timeline she never stopped searching for a way to bring him back and tbh that's the thing that bugs me about Quentin's death. No one in this show stays dead whether it's through resurrection or another version of the character so it really bugs me that Quentin was the one that the showrunners decided had to permanently be gone. Julia struggled to figure out what to do with her magic while Penny was sort of forced into being a Brakebills's teacher and Kady was still trying to be a hedge witch leader. Meanwhile over in Fillory we still haven't learned what happened over those 300 years or who the new leader is but supposedly Fen and Josh died and I have a feeling that Margo and Eliot will somehow do what the Clockwork Dwarf told them not to and travel back cause duh we can't lose Josh and Fen which will lead to the Apocalypse that Julia was warned about and the quest for the season. 

The promo for next week wasn't exactly a promo for next week but the whole season and we really just gets glimpses of what we're in store for. Alice makes a Golem of Quentin making me wonder if Jason Ralph will actually be back cause we know that Golems look like the humans they are modeled after. Fen and Josh also seem fine so the time travel must work and we're told again that the Apocalypse is happening.

Harley Quinn Season 1 Episode 8

This was a really fun episode but more than what happened this week it's opening up a lot of questions for the future and that's what really interests me. Harley finally got an invitation to the Legion Of Doom but what she didn't know was that the Legion only invited her cause they actually wanted Ivy as a member and were hoping they could sort of blackmail/threaten Ivy into joining cause they know that Ivy would do anything for Harley. In the end though Harley was let into the Legion even though Lex convinced her that when Ivy said no Harley wouldn't be in and this leads me to wonder if maybe this whole thing was planned out on purpose. Maybe Joker wanted Harley back and so he decided that the only way to do that was to separate her from Ivy so he and Lex planned this whole thing. It'd definitely make sense and I'd be so into it! It was also interesting that though Ivy no longer seems afraid to be with Kiteman in public she still hasn't exactly told Harley that they're dating. The stuff with Psycho and the tentacle monster was meh but the comedy was still on point. We also saw Aquaman though he was the original DC version and I'll never be tired of the Aquaman is lame jokes despite personally not actually believing any version of Aquaman is lame.

Top 10 TV Shows Of 2019

Hi everyone! As promised, I'm back with my Top 10 Favorite TV Shows of 2019! Again, this list is based on my personal opinions and may have spoilers. There was a lot of great TV out this year so I'm going to start with some honorable mentions which has some shows that are still on air but that just missed the top 10 list! Fair warning, there may be spoilers below so keep that in mind!


Up first are my honorable mentions: shows that did not make my list of favorites for the year but still shows that I enjoyed watching!

Titans

My first honorable mention is Titans! I was truly not a fan of season 1 of Titans for so many reasons but season 2 was definitely leagues better though in the end it did devolve into a mess which is the main reason that it's not on my top 10 list this year. The Deathstroke storyline started out so strongly and ended with everyone being confused as what we experienced but I think the major problem with this season was it's writing cause instead of letting the characters tell the story, it forced the strangest decisions for the characters in order to get from point A to B. Having said that I did enjoy a lot of episodes this season and some of the characters on this show are my babies so I couldn't help but shout it out. Dick Grayson is such a badass and I loved watching his journey to become Nightwing this season and I still adore Gar to pieces even though I will constantly wish he had more screen-time. The 100

My next honorable mention for this year is The 100! This show is almost consistently one of my favorites cause I love the way the show looks at humanity and morality and how in times of war or crisis people will either hold firm to their morals or place the ends before the means. This season was very interesting cause we looked at immortality and were on an alien planet and I loved the way this show went so off the rails! I will never stop shipping Bellamy and Clarke (their actors are married in real life!!) but I low key wouldn't mind if they just loved each other so desperately in a platonic manner. They're two sides of the same coin and I adore that about this show. I enjoyed the villains a lot this season but I do have to admit that the ending sort of took the show in a weird direction which is why it's not on my top 10. Now onto the Top 10 list which goes from 10 to 1 with number 1 being my favorite drama of the year!

Agents Of SHIELD

Coming in at number 10 is Agents Of SHIELD! This is just as sad for me as it is for any of you that are reading this and are fans of SHIELD. I just wasn't a huge fan of this past season despite how excited I was to check this show out. I'm afraid that this show peaked at season 4 and it's all been downhill from there. I really didn't care for the villains this year and it felt super weird to have Clark Gregg playing someone who wasn't Coulson which led to a feeling that the show was spinning it's wheels a bit. I did enjoy everything up in space though and seeing Fitz and Enoch together as well as the way the show used the Chromocons which does make me fairly excited for the final season airing this summer but that's not enough to push this show higher up than number 10 on my list. Lucifer

At number 9 is Lucifer! This is the first time that this show has been on my list of top 10 shows but this season just gave me everything I ever wanted from this show which sucks cause the next one will be the last! Why save this show Netflix if you were just going to cancel it two seasons later?? I was so excited that Chloe finally learned the truth about Lucifer actually being the devil and I loved watching her accept that fact with all the grace of being a detective even though it was rough watching her dislike Lucifer and be scared of him. Eve was also such a highlight cause she was the perfect mix of naive and pure but mischievous and I shipped her so hard with Maze! The ending for the season was so much fun and I loved the cliffhanger cause it makes me want the next season now!

Gotham

Coming in at number 8 is Gotham! Technically this show came to an end airing it's final season this year but I wanted to shout it out anyway cause I adored it so much. I know so many people hate this show but I'm of the mind that I love crazy kooky shows and Gotham was exactly that. I don't need to follow everything closely and things don't have to be realistic or follow real life cause why watch a tv show except for a fantastical approach to life? I loved seeing where our characters ended up in the future and how everyone changed from the first day we met them all the way back in season 1. Riverdale

At number 7 is Riverdale! Riverdale has consistently been one of my favorite shows from the moment it started airing which is totally crazy cause half the time I don't understand what's happening but I can't help it! I do end up embracing the illogical story movement but at the same time I think one of the things I adore about the season that's currently airing is that it's a little more grounded in it's storylines so there's no insane serial killer out to covert everyone but at the same time the fact that each of our main characters have their own thing going does make the show feel a smidge less cohesive. Betty and Jughead of course are still my favorite characters and my favorite ship on the show with Cheryl being the least interesting and the one I could live without in general and it doesn't help that her story this season has been so completely insane. Brooklyn Nine Nine

Coming in at number 6 is Brooklyn Nine Nine! This is another show that I have been almost religiously watching since it started though I don't think I've ever had it on a previous top 10 list but I just couldn't keep it out of my head as I tried to think of my favorite shows of the year! This show has everything from amazing characters to great comedy to a fantastic way of looking at such intense deep topics in a comedic manner while refusing to undercut them or make them sillier than they were. Jake and Amy have one of the healthiest relationships I've almost ever seen on tv and I love how almost every character is the opposite of the trope you would expect! Jake despite being the "cool" one is best friends with Charles rather than someone who makes fun of the dork and Amy despite being a Latina is the teacher's pet rather than the tough one and Holt is just all kinds of incredible with his dry wit. If you're not watching this show, you're seriously missing out!

The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina

At number 5 is The Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina! So technically this might be cheating cause it was only the second half of season 1 that aired this year but I just loved this show so much that I had to thrown it on my list! I remember loving Sabrina The Teenage Witch when I was a kid so I was excited to see this new dark version and it's pretty much everything I could want! It's so dark and creepy and fun that I just can't put it into words. I love the world this show has built and all the characters we've gotten and the magical plots we have to deal with every week. The only thing I'm not a fan of is Sabrina's human friends who are super annoying tbh and the ironic thing is that though I adore Ross Lynch from Austin & Ally, my ship in this show is between Nick and Sabrina which low key sucks cause Sabrina is with Harvey in most canon so I know I'm going to be heartbroken!

Fruits Basket

Coming in at number 4 is Fruits Basket 2019! I refuse to call shenanigans on this being my number 4 cause it's my list and I make the rules so I say that an anime can be on my list of favorite tv shows. This is mostly cause I don't think I watched enough anime this year to make a top 10 and I just adored this anime to pieces so I couldn't help but want to shout it out! It's technically a remake of the 2001 version of this show which is an adaptation of a manga but I never really liked the original version of the anime so I started this one with high doubts only to be stunned with what I watched. Fruits Basket is so unique cause it takes what should be a run-of-the-mill shoujo anime and makes it into this deep and meaningful look at friendship and family and abuse and torture and what it means to love someone. The Magicians

At number 3 is The Magicians! Ugh lord I could gush about this show for days and days and I really wish people would stop sleeping on this incredible show cause it's absolute perfection. I've said before that it's like Harry Potter meets Narnia but that doesn't even cover the scope of how unique and fun this show is. Every single character is so multi-dimensional and they go through these wonderful arcs each season. I love that there's so much diversity in the cast from race to sex to sexual orientation though I do have to admit that this past season had a controversial finale which I was completely against for different reasons that most of the public did but I don't want to throw this show away cause everything else is perfect. It's meta in the funniest ways, it looks at such deep and dark topics without smacking you in the face about it and it just lets you have fun by kicking back, turning off your brain and diving into this world of magic!

Legends Of Tomorrow

Coming in at number 2 is Legends Of Tomorrow! I mean you had to have seen this coming by now right? So many of the shows that I love are so insane and that's because I prefer my tv to be entertaining and escapism so yes give me time travel and crazy plots and fun musical numbers and magic and demons and clones! This past season might have been one of the best this show has had and I feel so bad for anyone who only checked out the first season of this show and dropped it cause none of the seasons that followed the first were anything like the first! Sara is the most perfect human and I fell in love with Zari this past season and oddly enough her romance with Nate which I didn't think I needed but I think I'm just a sucker for tragedy so as soon as they threw reality wiping into the mix, I was sold! Arrow

And finally, at number 1 is Arrow! I mean you had to have seen this coming right? I'm sorry that it's not more of a surprise twist but this is the final year that Arrow is airing so maybe next year we can try for something new! Oh god this show is ending this year and I don't know what to do with myself! Arrow was THE show that got me to fall back in love with superhero tv shows cause I used to watch all the animated ones back in the day but I fell off of them until I watched Arrow. Stephen Amell just kills it every single week as Oliver Queen the most perfect broody hero that has ever hero-ed. This last season was such a lovely goodbye to this show and the character Oliver Queen though I'll never not be bitter that Emily Bett Rickards decided that this was the year she wasn't going to appear on this show even though it was the last! I loved seeing Oliver and Diggle spend one last adventure together and for Oliver to meet his future children and show the world why he's the one that started it all so don't forget to click here for more weekly reviews and other content!

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Anyway, let's dive right in shall we?

Welcome To Demon School Iruma-Kun Episode 9

This week's episode was interesting cause Iruma finally got a little ambitious and I'm loving it! I enjoyed his laidback attitude up to this point but there's only so long that this show could have played the same joke of Iruma wanting to blend into his surroundings only to be highlighted through the antics of the people around him or the fact that he's a human so demon logic doesn't work on him. Of course the deeply intense and gory way that demons rise in rank is dodgeball! I totally expected it to be something silly as soon as Azz started to depict a scary competition but when it turned out to be dodgeball I might have broken a rib laughing. I also should have expected this whole episode to be about Iruma training for the dodgeball competition rather than the competition itself but I was still surprised that the episode ended with Iruma's training. I loved the joke that the professor was in the delinquent classroom looking furious that all the students were missing cause they decided to join the main trio in the underground gym to have fun. It was also interesting that Iruma doesn't want to use magic to win cause he feels like it's cheating but I'm hoping that this doesn't mean that he'll always turn down the use of magic cause I'm sure there will be moments he can't help but use it like in another lesson such as last week when he had to grow a plant but part of that might just be me hoping that he'll use magic!

Stand My Heroes: Piece Of Truth Episode 9

Well I was begging for some answers and it looks like I finally got my wish. Surprisingly it was Hattori from Division 1 who had most of the answers and it makes me wonder if all of Division 1 knows this information or if Hattori was keeping it close to the chest until now. Either way I was thrilled when Rei almost immediately told the rest of her team cause I was a bit worried that she'd keep it to herself though I don't know that we got too much new information other than a few links here and there. So as it turns out Makato and Kyousuke's sister was not related to the Anonymous Case afterall but was kind of a trigger for what happened afterwards cause Ida got really attached to the family to the degree that he sort of led a one-man mission to eliminate drugs in his anger. Ida turned to Yuki, a Omori Pharmaceuticals employee, to create Square as a drug that would help junkies get less attached to the drugs they used only for the drug to have terrible side effects (which was funded by Aoyama's family and led to Rei's family dying.) Yuki tried to continue for a while longer and fix the problems with Square only for him to get threatened by the Kujo Family leading him to quit to keep the data safe from the wrong hands but Ida killed him for turning and the Kujo Family got the research Yuki did anyway. Ida then kidnapped Maki as a hostage to keep Hattori from coming after him and eventually escaped with the help of Makato or so Hattori thinks. Meanwhile the Kujo family spread Plus onto the streets cause I'm assuming they figured if Square wasn't going to make them money by helping junkies then Plus might with it's crazy side effects. I'm fascinated with this story and I love that the show is basically buckling down on Kujo being sketch cause for a stretch there I worried that the show might make Kujo a good guy after all which sucked cause he's the perfect villain!

Batwoman Season 1 Episode 8

This episode was so heartbreaking on so many levels and it's so fascinating cause of all the things that I expected Batwoman to do to me, the one I didn't expect was for it to give me one of the better villains in the Arrowverse and one that's leagues better than anyone we got over on Supergirl. Alice is incredible cause she really truly is a horrible person especially after this week but at the same time we can't help but sympathize and pity her cause it wasn't her fault that she got brainwashed into becoming this person. I have zero pity for Catherine and I still don't understand her no matter how many times she has tried to explain why she did what she did but I still don't think she deserved the death that she got and especially not in the arms of Mary who is one of my favorites on this show. I do have to admit that this episode was a little weird in how it was blocked cause after Alice told Kate that Catherine was dying somewhere in the building she decided to leave instead of trying to find Mary and Catherine? Like just give us one shot of Batwoman in the doorway as Mary cradled her mother and that would have made sense. Catherine's death being the straw that broke the camel's back for Kate was weird too cause we've literally never seen Catherine and Kate interact and we never saw any hint of how the four of them were a family. I straight up thought that it was an evil stepmother type situation where she kicked Kate out so Catherine could have her happy family cause we never saw any pictures of Kate on the wall of family photos! I guess I can imagine that though Kate never showed it that she does love Mary like a sister so the fact that Mary was so torn up was enough for Kate to be like that's enough. On another note Sophie and her husband had a whole thing that was annoying to watch and also like dude now is not the time to have this discussion! I truly don't care what the outcome is as long as Kate and Sophie don't get back together!

So next week is the Crisis On Infinite Earths Crossover which means no Batwoman standalone episode but I'm really curious about whether the Batwoman that will appear is the Batwoman who appeared in the Elseworlds Crossover last year cause she's the Batwoman who knows the rest of the Arrowverse and THAT Batwoman is obviously not the one we're watching this season making me think that season 1 of this show is more of a flashback in the Arrowverse continuity. 

The Flash Season 6 Episode 8

Part 2 of the Ramsay zombie attack thing happened this week and it was also meant to be the last stop before the crossover and this was a fine episode overall, nothing out of this world but nothing all that boring either. We were able to defeat Ramsay for good and I'm glad cause he truly didn't feel like a season long Big Bad but at the same time it did feel a bit too quick though honestly I didn't care that much cause I had zero connection to him which is a huge flaw for this show cause other than Eobard and Hunter, I never really connected with a Flash villain. I am left however curious as to who the villain of the second half of the season will be cause unlike the Dr Alchemy and Savitar season 3, there hasn't been another villain set up yet so either it'll be someone we meet in the crossover or someone who will be affected by the crossover or it'll be Nash who I'm almost completely certain met the Anti-Monitor and not the Monitor at the end. If I had to place a bet, the second option seems the most likely. I also liked the idea that Barry actually chose Ramsay last week in order to take him down but seriously guys did I miss something cause since when was Allegra's UV metapowers a way to take down Ramsay's blood meta thing? I also didn't like the stuff with Cecile and Kamilla at all and I feel like it was just a way to kill screen time. The final scene where everyone talked about how much Barry means to them was sweet in a sense but once again meaningless to me unless Barry dies permanently in this crossover.

Next week is the Crisis On Infinite Earths Crossover which means no Flash standalone episode but we will be getting the final part of the first 3 part crossover in which I do have a feeling that Barry will die only to be saved in January in either the Legends or Arrow part of the crossover so we get some sort of payoff for this whole half season lamenting Barry's death while also not making it permanent.

Arrow Season 8 Episode 7

We were back on the island as the final episode before the crossover and it was another great callback to previous seasons of Arrow though I'm still low key heartbroken that we didn't get Deathstroke even if it wouldn't have entirely made sense to have him on Lian Yu since we last saw him out in the world. Then again we met up with characters from the flashbacks of season 1 who were long dead so who's to say that Slade couldn't have dropped by doing something or other. I'm also low key heartbroken that we also didn't get Shado back instead of her father or Friers. I think we're supposed to believe that whatever that weird energy surge was on this island it not only brought back dead plants to life but also the people who died on this island. I kept awkwardly waiting for a Robert Queen to appear too but I guess once again that might have been too much to ask for. It was a bit of a contrived reason to have everyone on the island to build that weapon for the Monitor though as it turned out the weapon was Lyla all along who disappeared only to reappear at the end of the episode as the Harbinger whatever that means. Roy also lost an arm and straight up all I could think was that now he's about to really become Arsenal cause in the comics Arsenal loses an arm and replaces it with tech and I really hope we get at least one shot of Roy with a robot arm by the end of this show whether it's in the current day or the flash forwards cause of course at some point we'll have to see how the current timeline changes changed the terrible future. My favorite parts of the episode were naturally everything with Oliver and William and Mia and I'm pretty sure that Mia is going to be sticking by Oliver's side throughout the crossover but I kinda hope Diggle comes along for the whole ride too cause he's not just Oliver's right hand but he's also Lyla's husband and I can't imagine him deciding to stay back.

Next week is the Crisis On Infinite Earths Crossover which means no Arrow standalone episode but also no Arrow episode in general cause there's only going to be the first three parts of the crossover next week which will be Supergirl, Batwoman and Flash. 

Riverdale Season 4 Episode 8

This was a really interesting episode of Riverdale cause it slowed everything down and let us look back on what's happened not only this season but the past 3 seasons as well by sending all the main kids to therapy with a therapist who straight up was the most calm person ever cause listening to all the things that our main characters went through was insane. Betty and Alice dealt with how Alice is so controlling cause Alice is afraid to let Betty grow up and become her own person and listening to all the horrible things Alice did to Betty was really just so hard cause I don't know how Betty hasn't cut Alice out of her life yet! I did like the payoff having been that Alice gave Betty her college fund back but I'm still shocked that Betty was rejected from Yale cause you would think that she's a shoo-in! It makes me curious to know which school she'll end up picking now or whether like Veronica and Archie she will end up staying in Riverdale and doing something else. Speaking of Archie, he was the one person who basically didn't listen to anything the therapist told him cause while at first it looked like he might give up the vigilante thing, in the end he turned right back to where he was. Veronica on the other hand decided to turn down admission to Harvard to spite her father and has decided instead she's going to battle him in the rum business and I was sitting here like Veronica who cares if your dad pulled strings?? It's Harvard! And like the therapist told her to cut ties with her father not put all her attention on beating him! Cheryl might legitimately be insane with all that she did this season but once again we're just going to brush by that and instead focus on how someone has been messing with her this whole time. Do we think Cheryl's mom is hiding in the house? In a change of events Jughead was the only one who actually used what the therapist said and had a productive few hours of telling his dad how much he loves him, applying to colleges, finishing the pages for the Baxter competition while also moving the investigation into Stonewall forward. As we see more and more flash forwards I'm leaning away from the theory that this is all Jughead's book but more along the lines that Jughead faked his death to catch the Stonewall kids and everyone is in on it.

Next week is the midseason finale and I'm curious to see whether Jughead will "die" next week in order to set up the mystery for the second half of the season or not. That's all conjecture though cause as we saw I'm not sure exactly what that promo for next week was but I'm sure it's not real cause why would Alice try to kill Betty?

Assassin's Pride Episode 9

We learned a lot this week about Kufa's backstory and it was about time! Apparently he's a half-vampire who spent most of his life hiding his vampire side and eventually ended up in the village Rosetti grew up in and was one of the orphan children Blossom took care of only to be exposed after that spider lycanthrope came to the village. Blossom's wife somehow was turned into a lycanthrope but Blossom made a deal with the spider to get his wife some venom that basically put her in stasis until he figured out how to turn her back but the spider went on a rampage killing Rosetti who was turned into a vampire as well by Kufa cause he loved her like a little sister. I really liked that not only did we learn about this but Melida did as well cause now they're a team and I loved that she was able to convince him not to erase her memories of him. He's going to get even more attached to her now that she was the only person able to still love him after finding out that he was a lycanthrope cause though his superior officer obviously knows I'm sure he doesn't see Kufa as anything more than a tool. In the end everything was wrapped up pretty perfectly with the spider being killed, Kufa erasing Rosetti's memories of what just happened, Blossom's wife being saved while he turned himself in, and Kufa was exonerated from what the villagers thought he did. I'm still curious about whether Kufa has drunk any human blood or whether he needs to cause when Rosetti was turned it was said that she would need to feed eventually but by erasing her memories she never had that impulse? So does that mean that vampires don't need blood to survive but just like it?

The Mandalorian Season 1 Episode 5

I wasn't a huge fan of this episode cause not only was it short and nothing really happened in it but there was barely any Baby Yoda and at this point in my watching I'm not ashamed to admit that the main reason I enjoy this show is him. I was excited to see Ming Na Wen though but it's low key annoying that we aren't get any recurring members let alone permanent ones to this show so I expected her to die from the start which is unfortunate cause I adore her. I was also really happy to be on Tatooine which I low key guessed from the start but I still don't entirely know why Mando is roaming around the Outer Rim cause you would think that if he truly wanted to get Baby Yoda to safety then he would go to the New Republic since it's the remains of the Empire that want Baby Yoda. It's also low key insane how little bounty hunters care about killing children especially since it's not like the guild is a criminal one since they hunt down criminals themselves but I suppose it's one of those things where you harden your emotions for the money. I just wish that we know what Mando's goal was and where he's planning on heading or if he even has a plan. I mean he can't just think let's keep roaming around never stopping. I feel like eventually he'll have to go and kill the person who put the bounty on Baby Yoda otherwise this will never end.

Harley Quinn Season 1 Episode 2

Okay so not a fan of this episode. It was still really funny and everything but so much of me kept cringing about how terrible it was to see Harley try to show off but instead just look really dumb for 30 minutes! It's interesting cause despite all the humor and cringe, at the core of the plot of this episode is something really intense. Harley has just broken up with her abusive ex boyfriend and she realizes that the friends that she thought were her friends too are actually just Joker's friends and it's something so many couples regardless of whether you're in an abusive relationship or not have to deal with. Which side of the couple gets the group friends? On another note Harley and Ivy are everything and Ivy might straight up be stealing all the attention in this show cause of how deadpan she is and how much I love that she's such a good friend. I know Harley wants to become the biggest baddest villain in Gotham and join the Legion of Doom but I low key just want her to make the Birds Of Prey instead whether that's with Ivy and Catwoman and they do villainous things or if it's more of the anti-hero squad with Black Canary and they fight crime!
