Top 10 TV Shows Of 2021

Hi everyone! As promised, I'm back with my Top 10 Favorite TV Shows of 2021! Again, this list is based on my personal opinions and may have spoilers. I'm going to start with some honorable mentions which are some shows that I binged this year but that aren't on air anymore followed by my actual Top 10 list! If you want a refresher, check out my Top 10 TV Shows Of 2013Top 10 TV Shows Of 2014Top 10 TV Shows Of 2015Top 10 TV Shows Of 2016Top 10 TV Shows Of 2017Top 10 TV Shows Of 2018Top 10 TV Shows Of 2019 and Top 10 TV Shows Of 2020 as well as my Favorite YouTube Videos and My TV Show OTPs & Ships lists!! Fair warning, there may be spoilers below so keep that in mind!

What If...?

Coming in at number 10 is What If! So we're all surprise that the last show on my list would be a Marvel one but I think something about the fact that this show is kinda outside MCU canon and animated makes it feel like it had less stakes than the others. I also have to say that the standalone aspect of this show made for a mixed bag cause it meant that there were weeks that I really enjoyed myself and weeks that I was tuning out though I liked the way it all tied together at the end and that this show basically redeemed Ultron as a villain cause it was the first time I was actually scared for him and the consequences of his evil plots!

Stargirl

At number 9 is Stargirl! So I ended up liking this season a ton more than the previous one mostly cause now that everyone who was important knew Courtney's secret we could see a lot more fun family kicking ass time and honestly between this and Superman & Lois apparently this is a thing that I've always wanted but never known I needed. I loved the villain of the season and the way it redeemed others from last season but of course given that it's so low on my list there were flaws. I really didn't care for any of the team splitting nonsense this season gave us and I'm still torn over Cameron's role in this show but other than that it's a good season of a good show.

Legends Of Tomorrow

Coming in at number 8 is Legends Of Tomorrow! It's honestly kinda sad how far this show has fallen from my favor cause honestly even a season ago I would have ranted and raved about the fact that this is my favorite superhero show on air right now. Like don't get me wrong it's not a bad show anymore and it's definitely not Flash levels of unwatchable but I think I'm just bitter about the fact that the show had to write off Constantine's character cause of the DC overlords needing him in the movies and the fact that removing him removed a lot of Zari 2.0's screen time when she's my favorite in this show. I did think it was creative of this recent season to force our characters to stay in one time period for an extended amount of time and I am open to seeing what's next when the midseason break is over.

Wandavision

At number 7 is Wandavision! This show is hilarious cause I really couldn't decide where it deserves to go cause honestly when I heard about all the Marvel Disney+ that were slated to come out this year this one was probs bottom of the list and having watched it all it's still not my most favorite storyline but I can't help wanting to put it higher on my list just cause of how I can't separate the fan hype from the actual show. This was the first Marvel thing we had gotten in almost two years since Endgame came out and it was coming out weekly so though in hindsight our expectations were too high it was so much fun to speculate week in and out. I also have to say this show succeeded on one level just for making me actually care about Wanda when before I really didn't and for giving us Agatha who's a gem.

Hawkeye

Coming in at number 6 is Hawkeye! Honestly two weeks ago this might have ended up higher on my list than 6 but the finale didn't do this show all that much in my eyes which is why it's here. I really liked Kate Bishop as a character and I was thrilled that Clint didn't end up dying at the end like I was afraid of. I also loved that we got Kingpin and Yelena though I think both were a little underutilized. Kingpin wasn't nearly as terrifying as he was in Daredevil in this show and I think that can be chalked up to him being off screen for most of this show but Yelena's writing was totally all over the place. It made no sense that she was so sure that Natasha would never sacrifice herself for the greater good when that was Natasha to the core and it also made no sense how easily Clint convinced her to see the truth. I did really like the emphasis on trick arrows though and that chase through the city might still be one of the best moments in this show.

Loki

At number 5 is Loki. Okay so look Loki has always been one of my favorite Marvel characters so at first glance you'd think that would make my ranking of this show feel unfair but I think that actually it was a disadvantage for this show cause that meant that I would have much higher expectations for this show going on and yet this show hit them anyway. I loved the characterization of Loki throughout this show and the way we saw him go from the villain in Avengers to the antihero in Thor Ragnarok and find love even if it's with a version of himself. I loved the timeline shenanigans and the fact that it introduced Kang to us in such a perfect way when I think he'll end up being an overarching Marvel villain for this phase!

Wheel Of Time

Coming in at number 4 is Wheel Of Time! So to be honest this might be a show that no one is watching cause I haven't heard anyone talk about it but it's an adaptation of a popular book series that my brother is into which is why I ended up checking it out and it ended up being a lot better than I thought it would be. I adore fantasy shows and I never think there's enough out there which is why if one can keep my attention for long enough I think it's worth a shot. So yes I've heard it's a shitty book adaptation but in my opinion it's a pretty solid tv show outside of that. Moiraine is the best character though Lan is up there too and I love the world that this show has built. Yes the pacing for this show is a little off and yes I feel like Rand who's actually supposed to be the main character of this show is one of the weakest with the dumbest rationale for why he does what he does but I have higher hopes for all that to get better. I do also hope that future seasons will expand the complexity of the characters and the world so it's not as simplistic as it is now.

Leverage: Redemption

At number 3 is Leverage: Redemption! So this show is more of a sequel series to the original Leverage rather than a reboot and I think that's one of the best parts of it. The show feels exactly like an extension of the original season with the same vibe and characters and actions but with a slight upgrade so we're facing more modern day problems. Every case is exciting and fun to watch and I'm so glad that it stuck with it's episodic approach rather than upgrading to the more modern day serial telling of a story cause that means we got more cons and we actually got to see our heroes win every episode. It's truly a love letter to the original show and I really hope we get more.

Superman & Lois

Coming in at number 2 is Superman & Lois. This show was a true shock to me when I first watched it cause I went through a whole emotional rollercoaster with it. When I first heard about this show I was hesitant to care given how little I've liked Supergirl since season 2 was the only good season in my opinion but when the trailers came out I was shocked at how beautiful it looked. Now having seen the whole first season it's hands down the best superhero show airing on tv right now. The acting, writing, and cinematography are out of this world. Characters actually feel like real people with the way they react to situations and nothing feels cheesy or overdone. The Kent family feels like they would die for each other and I love the way they all work together to get things done. I also love that Lois and Clark both have real purposes in this show so that neither feel like they need to reduce themselves in order to make the other have a purpose like Barry and Iris on the Flash. If you haven't seen this show by now you have to!

The Witcher

And finally last but not least my number 1 show of 2021 is The Witcher! I mean seriously could it have been anything else? I absolutely adored the first season of this show and somehow this second season upped it's game in ways that I didn't expect and made me love it even more than the first. I've never read the books for this series but I've heard it's an excellent adaptation of them which makes me happy for those fans since it's so rare that it happens. I loved that this season expanded on the world in a way that we not only saw more kingdoms and players but that it did the thing I said Wheel Of Time didn't and made everything more complex. I loved that as the show went on we started to question if anyone is on the right side or if everyone is a different shade of bad and who we should root for. I loved that our characters finally all met up and are working towards a goal even if we don't yet know what it is. Every actor is hitting it out of the park with their acting and of course the fights and the cinematography are to die for!

And that's the end of my Top 10 TV shows of 2021 list! I'll see you all tomorrow for my Top 10 Asian Dramas of 2021!

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 12

Is anyone else's heart breaking this week? I mean seriously I was practically on the edge of tears all episode since I now know that this addiction storyline is leading to John Constantine leaving the show. Not only do I adore his character but this season has given me a new appreciation and love for Zari and Constantine and the soft way they love each other. I'm almost fairly certain that he's going to die by the end of this season and it's going to break Zari possibly in the way that will make her closer to 1.0 than we expected cause honestly that's a better story than if they simply breakup cause of his addiction and he leaves the ship. Zari's dated all sorts of bad guys as we've been told and I could never see her leaving him without trying to help him through it if she loves him like she said. I am really curious though to find out who this new character Matt Ryan will be playing and whether that one will get a romantic storyline with Zari too cause the show can't throw away the chemistry between Tala and Matt like this! In other news Bishop is alive and back like I expected cause duh we have like 3 episodes left and no villain so we needed him. I am curious to see what he's up to and how the Legends will not only react to him but defeat him. I also have to say that this Mafia/Werewolf roleplaying game was hilarious even if I wished they had played it for real a bit more.

Ah okay so it looks like the Legends are going to figure out something's wrong with John next week and it's about time cause I am so ready for the angst!

Stargirl Season 2 Episode 2

Courtney was a struggle to handle this week and it's interesting cause it makes sense why she acted the way she did and yet my heart didn't like it! Jennie was a sweetheart and it was honestly kinda rude of Courtney to not only treat her like a villain but also to focus so hard on the fact that Jennie is a legacy that she forgot that Jennie was an orphan who grew up alone. Fortunately Pat set her straight and Jennie was high key upgraded so she not only no longer has to charge the ring with the Lantern but now it seems like she's straight up a Lantern. I am disappointed in the fact that she's gone already cause I feel like she and Rick would have a lot in common given their upbringings and their shared connection as legacies but I'd like to imagine that Oa called her home to train her so when she comes back she's more badass even though honestly that's probs just a dream and we'll never get that. Though actually maybe she'll end up on that Green Lantern show that HBO and Berlanti will be producing? With Diggle fingers crossed?? But no seriously we also saw that Shade is back and the stone that Cindy was carrying basically hypnotizes people so now I can see how she would get Mike to join her.

Ah looks like Mike finds the pen and becomes a hero though I imagine that Courtney is going to try to stop him and that'll be what pushes him away into Cindy's evil clutches.

FINISHED Superman & Lois Season 1 Episode 15

Guess who toooootally didn't cry when she watched Clark give his eulogy for his father at that little funeral they had?? Alright you caught me. I cried like a baby! This was a pretty amazing finale and it highlighted everything I adored about this show from the start to the end. It's the most character centric show of the Arrowverse so once all the punching and fighting was finished, we were able to settle back with our characters and see how they've grown. I liked the idea that Edge's final words were about wanting a family and that Clark responded with you would have had one if only you reached out to me before. Cause it's totally true! The Kents have been begging John to stay and like he originally didn't want to but now that Natalie is here I'm sure this is going to end with an awkward situation in which Lois might have to be a mom to two families and I wonder if the boys will get jealous at all or if they'll just embrace the crazy situation and be happy they have a sister now. Tbh I could see more of the second than the first based on what good people they are but low key the drama is in the first and I could also see that happening. I'm also not surprised in the slightest that Lana and Kyle decided to stay cause duh but I also really liked Clark's speech as Superman about Smallville finding it's strength when it needed it. I'm definitely going to miss this show and be counting down the days until it's back!!

What If Season 1 Episode 2

I had a lot more fun with this week's episode than the last one which was interesting cause you would have thought at first glance I would be more interested in Peggy than T'challa but I think the problem with Peggy's episode was that it felt like a rehash of Captain America: The First Avenger rather than her own story whereas here T'challa and Peter are two completely different people so no matter the fact that they were raised by the same person they reacted to things differently. It was a sweet send off for Chadwick Boseman too given that this was officially the last thing he filmed in the Marvel universe given that he was basically a galactic hero. I loved that he was the one to convince Thanos that his plan was terrible and to give up before it got worse and that he and Nebula had a bit of a romance brewing cause of course he did. I also loved that he was able to reunite with his family back in Wakanda at the end and that he brought his alien family with him. I did think it was interesting that we never saw Gamora or any of the other Guardians other than Drax in a comedic moment but I suppose if T'challa stopped Thanos before he attacked Gamora's homeworld then she wouldn't have left. I also found it interesting that he didn't end up joining the Nova Core or something given that he was still a good man rather than a criminal like the original Starlord was. I also really liked the button at the end that told us this world is doomed since Peter met his dad and wouldn't have the same gripes that our Peter had with Ego.

Titans Season 3 Episode 4

So as it turns out Scarecrow is the one pulling Jason's strings and I'm really not a fan of this whole thing. Now I don't mean in the sense that I don't think the writing works but in the sense that it's all so clear in hindsight and I'm just sad to lose Jason. I also think it's amazing how this show continuously shows us what a terrible person Bruce is even before he supposedly murdered Joker. Like the writers of this show clearly think Bats is the worst person in DC and it's fascinating that Dick is totally a slightly softer copy of him and I think that's hilarious. Scarecrow definitely had some sort of reaction to Dick being all cold and sociopathic and I loved it. On that note I was totally stunned that the show not only really did kill off Hank but also barely gave him a real goodbye! Like apparently all the mourning happened offscreen combined with Dawn leaving for Paris to process her emotions. It's like the show was like okay guys let's move on with the next plot now please. Speaking of the start of the Blackfire plot didn't actually go down the way I expected it to. Like apparently Blackfire isn't the out-and-out villain she's supposed to be and maybe she's actually just misunderstood or maybe part of the reason why she turned out the way she did was cause of Starfire.

My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 20

I'm really curious about where this week ended up going and how we basically rewound back 2 months in order to see what the League Of Villains were up to so that when we do throw down with them in the future there will be more stakes. It seems as though I wasn't all right in guessing what's going on in terms of the League and Hawks. I assumed that the Liberation Army was just the newest method the League was using to sow chaos but in fact this week we saw that it's actually probs more like the League is playing along with the Liberation Army in order to infiltrate and destroy them like they did during the Eri arc last season. The Liberation Army seemed to be targeting the League and Hawks seemed to be targeting the Liberation Army and the trio sort of have stumbled on each other or so I can gather so far. I am curious about how this all went down in 2 months but I'll be open to the answer!

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 11

Honestly this episode was super weird guys and not in the usual fun Legends way. Maybe it's partially cause I didn't care about the whole bowling setup from the start and maybe it's also cause I've not been a fan of pretty much any of the storylines this season from the Zari swap to the Constantine drug addiction but either way I mostly just zoned out for most of this week. Having said that it wasn't all negative. I did end up liking the twist though where the Earth became a bowling bowl and that Zari 1.0 shooting one of Spooner's guns at the alien holding it helped the Legends win the game cause it was a perfect mix of Legends insanity. I also really enjoyed everything with Ava picking out her wedding dress with Gary and straight up I could have watched a full episode in which this was the A plot rather than the D plot! On another note I did wonder for a while if I severely overreacted to Constantine's drug thing last episode cause no one else that I saw who watched this show seemed to care but now the alien running the bowling alley mentioned this drug was going to kill Constantine and guys I will literally scream if this storyline kills off Constantine from this show.

Ooh next week is defs more my style with the Legends being forced to play a board game and especially since Zari 2.0 is back and I need her to realize that something's wrong with Constantine!

Stargirl Season 2 Episode 1

Stargirl is back with it's season 2 premiere and I can't help but wonder if it's just been a while since I've seen this show so I didn't remember the vibe or if Superman & Lois has pretty much ruined all DCTV Berlanti-verse shows for me with it's excellent writing. All that to say I felt pretty meh about this week's premiere which not only was slow but also had really choppy writing. Courtney was struggling hardcore with the idea that she and the others defeated the ISA last season which meant that she was ignoring everything in her life other than being Stargirl and the irony is that of course she's right that not everything is well given this is a superhero show! I think the villain of the season is supposed to be whatever that dark shadow-y thing was at the top of the episode but Cindy also came back and she's on her own recruiting mission though I'm not sure if I believe in any of the picks she made. I mean Cameron yeah I can see cause Icicle Jr is a villain but Artemis is traditionally a hero so like what the hell show. Also on what planet is Mike going to go against his family to be a villain? We also got the first appearance of the new Lantern who's apparently the daughter of Allan Scott who tbh is the Lantern I know the least about. Oops?

The promo for next week shows us that Courtney is going to be jealous of the new Lantern cause of how she bonds with Pat and that's honestly adorable.

Superman & Lois Season 1 Episode 14

Ohhhhhhhhhh shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. This show is so goddamn good!!! How in the hell did I not see this twist coming?? Of course Morgan Edge was going to take Jordan if he couldn't get Clark and it looks like he's placed his father inside of Jordan. Okay but seriously backing up a second when Edge absorbed the Eradicator it meant that Edge literally became it so now he has the ability to put Kryptonians into humans whenever he wants. I still am bitter about the fact that every Superman adjacent show other than the Syfy show Krypton has to have their villains be Kryptonians cause seriously a whole race isn't evil but I guess I'd imagine that a bad person like Edge's father would probs only take the minds of Kryptonians that agreed with him rather than a wide range of minds which is why they're all bad. Meanwhile Lana and Kyle have decided to move to Bristol but let's be honest there's no chance this season ends with them gone cause then Jordan would lose his love interest which is more important on a meta level than Clark losing a friend who we've literally not seen him spend any time with. I actually laughed when he called her his best friend. Like where? But on that same note we found out that the girl that Jonathan has been sort of seeing is from Central City and now it's a countdown to see which meta villain is her dad cause why else say that she's from the home of the Flash and has a dad in jail!

Dudes I didn't realize that next week is the finale! Of course that's why this episode was so intense since it was the penultimate! I'm assuming that Sarah will end up finding out the truth cause she's too close now but I'm also really happy that we're spending more time in Metropolis. I really do wish this show had taken place there....

What If Season 1 Episode 1

I'm back with the newest Marvel Disney+ show and this time it's an animated one that kinda follows Loki in that we're exploring the multiverse but unlike all the others this one will probs be the one that most stands alone. I mean there are rumors that some characters (hello Captain Carter) that might join the MCU but on the whole it's meant to be a fun romp into new worlds. I like the idea of the Watcher narrating the whole thing and repeating the idea that branch timelines form through one small change. This week we followed Peggy in the what if scenario of what if she took the super soldier serum back in the 40s. I had a lot of fun cause obviously I'm always ready for more Peggy but tbh it was a slow start to what I think will be a fantastic show cause I think it mostly tread on the same story beats that Captain America: The First Avenger did. I did like the idea of Steve becoming the first Iron Man though cause of course building robot suits runs in the Stark blood! I can't wait to see what other crazy scenarios this show can cook up!

Titans Season 3 Episode 1, 2, & 3

Season 3 launched by releasing 3 episodes at once for some reason and it looks like this season is going to be The Red Hood arc mixed with Blackfire. I still think the show did nothing to show us that the Titans are a family especially after we spent almost all of season 2 fighting each other and now once again we're fighting each other and yet we keep being told by the characters that we are a family and it's like dudes you can't just keep saying the same thing over and over again and make the audience believe it. Having said that if you look past all that nonsense I do have to say that the writing this season is a lot tighter than I remember it being in previous ones. I can't actually believe that this show killed off Hawk but at the same time I can cause I'm sure the actor's like dudes I deserve better than this mess and the irony is that it was Dove herself that did it cause she not only physically pulled the trigger but also she refused to trust in the team. The more we see of her the more I dislike her and it's funny how unlike in most iterations of the Teen Titans it's Gar and Connor that I like most in this show though Dick's pretty close to being near the top despite what a hot mess he is. I do wonder who Jason is working for cause in the comics from what I remember it was Damian who tried to find a different prouder father figure and Jason worked alone. I'm sure that Bruce found out that Jason was alive and he probs watched Jason murder the Joker but took the blame in order to protect Jason. Either way I'm sure we've got a lot more craziness to go!

My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 19

We're back this week after taking last week off due to the movie which I haven't seen yet since I don't live in Japan! The work studies have wrapped up and now it feels like we're in January since the students talked about winter break and the new year. We're coming up on the kids moving from their first year to their second and honestly it's hilarious how much they went through in all this time. I still can't help but wonder if this mega exciting huge manga storyline will even take place this season cause I still think that there's not enough episodes left to really dig deep but I'm open to whatever cause this show hasn't let me down yet. As it turns out the shadow creature that we've been following from the League of Villains was actually Present Mic and Aiwaza's best friend who died and whose body was corrupted by All For One into what he is now. We also found out something about a hospital which is probs where Tomura will end up attacking after he's been experimented on enough.

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 10

Oh good god no this is not what I wanted from Legends. I was really not a fan of the pregnancy storyline but I hate addiction storylines even more. Constantine is already breaking my heart and we haven't even gotten started down this horrible dark and twisted path he's about to take. I want to imagine that cause this is not only an Arrowverse show but Legends Of Tomorrow which can barely do anything dark that the whole thing will be fixed in two seconds through what I assume will be an intervention episode but I could also see Legends reaching into it's Arrowverse routes and going the super dramatic route to make this the reason that Zari and Constantine break up. It'll be a toss up as to which road the show follows but it'll only really matter if Zari 2.0 is on screen again. I do have to say that part of me thought that Constantine would get the Fountain through sheer want to protect Spooner and the kid but it's more accurate that he chose what was quick and easy over what was hard. Meanwhile Mick apparently has 43 eggs in his head and it looks like we won't be keeping Gus for much longer cause as it turns out his species' lifespan is only 30 days long which means that by the end of the season he'll be gone.

Hmm so we're taking a few weeks off so the promo for when we come back in August doesn't actually show us much other than the fact that some of the Legends will be stuck trying to win a bowling game in order to escape some aliens which is honestly hilarious but I'm still thinking about Constantine so maybe it's a bit too soon to enjoy some laughs.

FINISHED The Flash Season 7 Episode 18

So the finale for this show aired this week and honestly I'm done with this whole season and maybe even these reviews going forward cause I don't love that I'm constantly shitting on this show when someone might be looking for a real review of this show! I don't know if I'll keep watching this show on my own or if I'll drop it completely but that's a next season problem! What I do know is that I was hype for Eobard's return though I have no idea how he's back or where he came from or at what point in the timeline he's from but also part of me will forever be bitter at the fact that he's always got Harrison Wells' face cause for the hundredth millionth time he's not a Wells and if the show forever wanted him to be played by Tom Cavanagh then they should have just made him a Wells back in season 1! I also want to say that I didn't care for the vow renewal at the end but I loved hearing Jordan Fisher sing and it's funny cause he's heads and toes better than almost all of the Arrowverse cast who've sung before. All's well that ends well huh.

Superman & Lois Season 1 Episode 13

I've honestly never been more disappointed that this show takes place in Smallville rather than Metropolis like I thought it would than this week cause it's really not doing much to show us that small towns are worth living in. I felt for the Cushings so hard and Lana's speech about how these people have always been her family and that she never had a back up plan really hit me. I imagine that the whole thing will be solved with Lois's story but I also don't love that so much focus was given to Lois struggling to lie. Why can't the story be as simple as Edge was another Lex Luthor wannabe and found a lot of X-Kryptonite in the mines of Smallville and used them to experiment on the Smallville residents to give them powers and brainwash them? What's so much more unbelievable about that than the fact that he was a Kryptonian trying to place Kryptonians into the minds of the people he experimented on? I was right in guessing that he did something to take on all the Kryptonians but it looks like somehow he became the Eradicator himself which is interesting and leaves me wondering how Clark is planning on beating him. Despite this being a superhero show on paper the fights and action are secondary to the characters so we still don't have much to base our Superman's badassness on yet.

We're taking a few weeks off so the next episode will be airing in August and it looks like maybe Lois and Clark might actually tell the people of Smallville the real truth or who Clark is which seems like the worst idea cause nothing the show has shown me so far makes me think that these people are trustworthy enough. It's also possible that the twins are in danger which is why Lois breaks down.

My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 17

I didn't actually realize that there was a fourth Todoroki sibling who also had the white hair and ice powers that the mom had but who died. Beyond wondering what happened to him, what I'm really curious about is the fact that all the kids seem to have gained everything from Rei rather than Endeavor which is interesting cause it clearly shows us that Rei's genes are more dominant! I also like the fact that the show isn't exactly glossing over how abusive Endeavor was or how messed up the Todoroki family was but at the same time I can't help but feel like it's a little too put on. Maybe it's cause I'm comparing this whole thing to Fruits Basket which had one of the best depictions of abuse in media almost ever but I can't help but feel like this show should have either skipped the abuse entirely if it couldn't give it the attention it deserved or really dug into it in a better way. I am starting to wonder though if whatever this next arc will be that Deku claims will change everything will end with Endeavor dying too cause I got a weird foreshadowing vibe from him that something really dark was going to happen.

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 9

Um okay so we're back with another episode of Legends in which I wonder just how strong the drugs were that the writers of this show took as they wrote the episode! I mean seriously Mick freaking Rory is pregnant with a brood of eggs that were laid in there by Kayla when they banged in space and I don't even know what in the hell to make of it. Where are we even going to take this storyline? Will it end up being that Spooner is actually one of Mick's? Are they going to come out as aliens and leave with Kayla at the end of the season? In other more logical news we got to know Behrad a little more. I still am not a fan of his whole stoner thing but it was interesting to see him play a different more douchey character as well. The show really is pushing him and Astra together which is meh and it also looks like we'll be seeing Zari 1.0 and 2.0 switch in and out of the totem like Caitlin and Killer Frost over on the Flash when they shared a body. I'm not sure how I feel about this cause I can't help but feel like we'll see less and less of 2.0 like we saw less and less of Caitlin. I like 2.0 and I like her relationship with Constantine much more than I like 1.0 and Nate and I just hope that we get 2.0 back when he returns.

The promo for next week seems to be focused entirely on the whole Lita and Mick being pregnant thing and the alien baby but the synopsis seems to hint that Constantine's hunt for the Fountain will be the A storyline which I'm much more interested in.

The Flash Season 7 Episode 17

It was honestly so so so hard to even sit down and watch this episode this week cause I was so uninterested in this show and the forty minutes that I would have to dedicate to it when I could be watching so many other things. I mean it was the 150th episode and I've been looking forward to Impulse all season but I was also so worried to see him and to see him be done wrong like I expected. I really debated dropping this show like I did with Supergirl and Batwoman and Black Lightning but then part of me felt bad about it cause if I do Legends and Superman & Lois would be the only Arrowverse shows I watch and then I thought that at the very least I should finish up the season given there's only two episodes left and so here we are. As a whole it was better than the 100th episode for sure but not much more. It sucked that Wally was still MIA (the actor clearly is D.O.N.E. with this show) but it was nice seeing Jay again though it's weird that Jay's death is paralleled to Barry's mom being killed. I thought it was interesting of the show to have Bart claim Godspeed as his Reverse Flash and I'm hoping that next week we'll get the answers as to why Bart is August's nemesis when Nora and Barry are both older and exist in the future. I also want to mention that I was so utterly confused with what happened with Iris and the fact that her whole thing was apparently solved offscreen.

So the finale is next week and I'm sure it'll be disappointing as always but I do hope we see more of Bart and August and get something real that makes their enemy relationship feel less cheap.

Superman & Lois Season 1 Episode 12

The release schedule for this show is really not doing it any favors cause every time there's a break I forget how much I enjoy this show! It's cause I've been so trained by the Arrowverse shows to expect most of them to suck (even Arrow had it's faults despite the fact that I have a soft spot for it a mile wide!) but like I say every episode this show is different. We caught up basically where we left off last time with Superman going off with Edge in order to save his family. Apparently Edge's plan was to put Zod in Clark's body and when that failed it seems like he's taken the consciousness of all the Kryptonians into himself. I might be wrong though cause from what we know this isn't a Caitlin/Killer Frost situation because the new consciousness takes over the old so maybe he only took on his father? Do we think that he's got increased strength now? In other news I liked that Lois told John Henry Irons about Superman being Clark and that he recognized that this Superman is different and I enjoyed seeing Diggle again though I'm still confused about his cameos across the Arrowverse and wonder if there's a plan in motion. The fact that this is the first that any of our original heroes have learned that the multiverse still exists after Crisis must be important! I do have to say though that low key my favorite part of this week might have been seeing Lana and Kyle and Sarah being a family. I'm really started to warm up to Kyle which is seriously unexpected given how little I liked him at the start!

Next week's promo doesn't actually show much other than the fact that it does look like Edge is still in control so maybe we are dealing with a shared minds thing now which high key might be cheap of the show to change it's rules now!

FINISHED Loki Season 1 Episode 6

After having watched this finale I low key think this one might have redeemed all the other Marvel Disney+ shows in my mind cause I can suddenly see what a beautiful masterstroke they were in terms of building the next phase. I mean yes on one level they're all skippable cause there's nothing really that changes at the end of every show that can't be summed up in one sentence but if you're a completist or hate the idea of missing out on anything then they're worth it! With Endgame setting up time travel it was the first step into this new sci-fi world in which aliens are no longer the biggest threat we will have to face. After Sylvie killing the One Who Remains aka the Kang the Conqueror variant who kept the others at bay, the multiverse is wildly open and we know that Wanda is currently searching through them to find a version of her twins that she lost and Dr Strange will be attempting to stop her while Kang himself will appear as the villain of Antman 3 and I'm truly so excited. I do hope that since Loki left this whole thing intact and a hero of a sort that this means that it's not the end of Loki and we'll see him reunite with Thor and the others at some point soon as well!

My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 16

This week we left Shoto, Deku, and Katsuki to focus on Froppy and Uravity while they did their work study with the Ryuku. I do wonder if this show would be the smidgenist better if I could binge it all at once cause I always forget so many things in terms of continuity! Like the mission of the week was to team up with Captain Selkie who we saw Froppy do her first internship with as they hunted down this group of terrorists who blew up a factory to steal chemicals that would be used to make Trigger that illegal drug that boosts quirks. So it's like I got all that and from what I can remember this whole quirk boost drug thing started back with the Emi arc when Red Riot beat that villain who used Trigger and Emi was being used to make anti-quirk bullets but with the show switching focus to the Liberation Army everything with Trigger has mostly fallen to the wayside making me think that the show will continuously seed that drug storyline in the background until shit hits the fan later which I think is the best use of it so we can be like oh in hindsight that was obvious!

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 7

Truly I don't know where this season goes from here cause I really thought that there's no way that Sara was actually cloned and is half alien now but with more and more proof it looks like yeah Sara really isn't the same person she was before. This confuses me on so many degrees cause if we're going with the logic that you can transfer consciousness from body to body, are we supposed to assume that your soul moves with you too? I mean normally this is all theoretical and stuff but it's canon in the Arrowverse that humans have souls as seen with Sara when we had to go get her from Hell and Oliver when he was stuck in Purgatory. I guess that has to be the case cause the show wants us to believe that our Ava though a clone is a full human with a soul so by that logic so must Sara? Also I don't know if I believe that Bishop was blown up cause it's too early in the season to lose our Big Bad but I mean Kayla is still out there too so there's that? I do have to say that it was super sweet when Sara proposed to Ava and I liked all the back to the future antics as well as Zari calling John out again for not having magic cause she knows him and adores him anyway which is adorable.

Based on the promo for next week we're headed back to the Wild West which might mean another Jonah Hex cameo? It does look like Sara tells the others about everything that happened so at least we won't have to sit around wondering when the other shoe will drop!!

Fruits Basket Season 3 Episode 12

Talk about a series finale penultimate episode you guys! I cried and cried and cried cause goodbyes really are the saddest even if there's a hint of happiness in the future as well. It's just that I like to imagine all my characters happy and together when I leave them so I never like when shows end with the main cast separating. At least here everyone is a Sohma or Sohma-adjacent so no matter how far they go eventually they'll all come home. Last week Kureno and Uo decided to leave and this week it looks like Kyo and Tohru will as well. I loved that we finally saw what Kyoko actually meant when she told Kyo that she wouldn't forgive him after the accident. She was actually talking about the promise he made to her years ago about protecting Tohru and I imagine if she could see them now she would never be happier seeing the two so in love. I do think it's crazy that after all this time we still haven't seen Tohru's dad or heard that love story when I know it was so important in the manga but I guess we also haven't seen how Manabe knows Tohru either. Speaking of Yuki and Machi kissed this week and truly it was still so random cause of all the couples in this show they're the ones I least care about even if we've seen less of others! Akito also decided to take a step forward by revealing the fact that she's a woman to the zodiacs and formally letting them go but deciding against giving them an empty apology and instead sticking around the estate to make amends. She and Shigure are finally a couple as well and low key their toxicity makes me live a little.

The Flash Season 7 Episode 14

I was trying to keep an open mind about this episode cause sometimes these types of episodes surprise you but honestly this was just as strange as I expected it to be from the promo last week. I guess I would have preferred if we had known for a longer time that Allegra was keeping an eye out for her cousin cause then this would be the fruit of her labor rather than something that came up randomly. I did like Allegra's power up though even if I expected it the minute that doctor starting saying stuff about their powers coming from hate. Like it's never hate that powers things in these types of situations but love! Speaking of love, it really does look like the show will be pushing Allegra and Chester together and that weird look they exchanged a few episodes back didn't mean nothing like I first thought. The irony of this show is how badly it writes it's love stories compared to something like Legends where literally any and every pairing works for me. It was also funny that Iris was literally not in this episode at all and Barry was barely in it either. I really guess all this focus on the two of them "trying" is going to lead right up to Bart's appearance huh?

Godspeed is back in the promo for next week as is the criminal that Frost has been flirting with all season making me laugh at how they really are going to be a thing.

Superman & Lois Season 1 Episode 11

Wow this week was totally sweet and heartbreaking all at once. I really enjoyed the look back on Clark's life and honestly the cuteness that was Lois and Clark getting to know one another and working the beat in Metropolis was low key everything this show could have been. Like don't get me wrong I have been enjoying the family stuff but I kinda wish we saw more of Lois and Clark before they became a family unit. I guess the major reason this show didn't go that way is cause there's been plenty of iterations in which we see the two in the early stages of life but none with this budget and writing prowess! I also kinda love that the thing that turns Superman is when Morgan threatens his family though I don't entirely like the fact that the first thing Lois does is call John Henry Irons. I wonder what she's going to say about how she knows and why she thinks it is but I bet that the focus is going to be on subduing Edge more than Superman. Meanwhile I also really loved that Kyle finally spoke to Lois about the way he's been treating her and apologized and I wonder if this will be the first step to him becoming a new man worthy of Lana...

Okay so I know shit was going down in the promo for 3 weeks from now but all I want to scream about is the fact that John freaking Diggle was in the promo!!!! I'm so excited cause this is the first we've seen of not only him since Arrow ended but also the first we've seen this show crossover with the other Arrowverse shows which is ironic since Supergirl exists in this world too. Like shouldn't Lois dial up Kara and be like yo this dude turned your other cousin?

Loki Season 1 Episode 3

This episode was fascinating and super annoying too cause it didn't actually give us any more answers about Lady Loki or what she wants or why she's doing what she's doing. What I do know is that she clearly doesn't like to be called Loki which is weird if she is a Loki variant cause I can't imagine a Loki who doesn't love himself or herself! I know the popular theory around is that she's actually Enchantress and honestly I could see that too cause we just don't know anything about anything. What we did learn was that everyone at the TVA are variants who have somehow got their minds hijacked by the Time Keepers or the TVA higher ups into believing that they were created to work for the TVA. The question is that if that's true why haven't they done the same thing to our Loki cause then they could use all his smarts without the mistrusting him part. Aside from all that it was really nice just to bask in all of Loki's glory. I loved seeing him drunk and also acting silly in a way that reminds of the Loki from Thor Ragnarok given that he's more mischievous than truly evil but the best moment was when he was reminiscing about his mom and how she taught him magic cause of course Tom Hiddleston excels at the tragic scenes. I do hope the show dials back the himbo antics a bit though cause Loki is still supposed to be smart unless it wants me to believe that he continuously gets one over on Thor and all of the Asgardians cause they're even dumber than him.

My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 14

I still find it the cutest thing how much Hawks idolizes Endeavor cause it's not like he's a hero that everyone adores right off the bat! I was surprised at first to find out that Hawks was actually undercover with this so-called Liberation Army rather than with the League Of Villains but I wonder if it's actually that he's undercover in both. Like what if the League is using the Liberation Army in their evil plans so they sent Hawks there to test him? Or what if this is kinda a side-gig for him and the LoV knows that he's here on command from the Hero Commission but don't care as long as he helps them when they need to like with the Nobus. It does kinda suck that he sold out Blue Jeanist to League and I guess that explains why Katsuki was worried about him last week but also why there wasn't any news on him either. I did love that Endeavor picked up the clues that Hawks dropped so quickly and I like that they're seeding the next arc after this work study one already though I do wonder if this will be the end of all the Hawks stuff we see until that arc begins. Do we know how long this arc is going to be cause I will be heartbroken if the thing that everyone was gushing about being the thing that changes My Hero Academia and Deku forever is actually coming in season 6!

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 6

Of all the things I expected this show to do it wasn't to make the current Sara a clone of the old Sara!! I mean at this point why not given that Sara's died and come back to life enough times and the Laurel currently living in our Arrowverse is from another Earth?? I really hope this means that Sara can really dig into the horror that comes from realizing she's a clone and whether that means that she's still Sara but I worry that since this show is mostly a comedy that it'll just brush the whole thing off and pretend like it's no big deal. It's about time that the show gave Sara a meaty storyline outside of dating Ava cause all the other Legends get something! Speaking of the Legends I still really don't care for Spooner but I think it's probs very likely that she also houses some alien like Amelia which is interesting cause I totally thought that she would be a half alien. It's also interesting that John is still hiding his lack of magic from the team but it was pretty great that Zari picked up on his sketchiness even if he convinced her he was fine. It was also pretty hilarious watching the Legends destroy his house and naturally Mick slept with Gary's alien fiance. Gary meanwhile might be hooking up with Cooking Ava which will be hilarious but also creepy!

The promo for next week shows us that the Legends are going to be trying to stop Sara's kidnapping from ever happening which I'm sure will go well but it looks like it'll be focused on Behrad so at least there's that!

Fruits Basket Season 3 Episode 11

This episode was truly everything I could have wanted and more. There are still shivers running up and down my spine even as I write this review and I cannot imagine how people watch this show and think it's boring or not living up to the hype. I spent what feels like ages waiting for Tohru and Kyo to finally kiss on screen when they're both conscious and aware and yet that wasn't even the biggest thing that happened this week! I loved seeing Tohru freak out realizing that there was no world that she wanted to live in that wasn't by Kyo's side and that the moment Kyo apologized and begged for another chance she gave it without hesitation and I was honestly really glad that Kyo did acknowledge all that he did wrong though I also wish he had said that he lied when he said that she disappointed him cause that barb really did stick with poor Tohru. I loved that they kissed and that he wanted to hold her just for a second in order to savor the moment but I'm still kinda confused about what led to the curse breaking. Is it a lack of fear of the future? Is it a realization that they don't need or want the Sohma family or the curse? Did Kureno really think all this as a child back in the day? I really did like the look back at what the original zodiacs and God wanted and I do wonder like God at what point it went from something everyone (except for the cat) wanted to a burden.

The Flash Season 7 Episode 13

Oddly enough this was a pretty solid episode of The Flash which fascinated me cause you all know that I'm not really about this show anymore. Sue came back and it looks like it'll be on a semi-permanent basis which was good cause it sucked that just cause Ralph's actor was a horrible person, Sue's actress had to suffer as well. I still don't know why the show doesn't just recast Ralph but maybe they really did want to downsize on the amount of heroes on Team Flash given that Frost left as did Cisco so the only ones with powers are Barry, Cecile kinda, and Allegra. I'm still waiting for Bart to arrive though and I'm worried all this anticipation will leave me feeling disappointed especially since Jordan Fisher is busy on Broadway and I wonder if he'd have the time to do both... Cecile's whole thing with therapy does feel a little out of nowhere but I liked the talk Joe and Cecile had at the end which might have made the whole thing worth it. It was also hilarious seeing Chester catch Barry and Iris in the Starchives and how he was like please do it somewhere else. Also I guess I was wrong in assuming that the mask was the Big Bad cause we defeated it pretty quickly so the hunt's still on to find the second half of the season's Big Bad.

Next week feels like a bit of a filler episode given that we're following Allegra as she tries to find her evil cousin but at the same time some of the best episodes of The Flash have been ones that don't focus on The Flash so I'll keep an open mind.

Superman & Lois Season 1 Episode 10

I want to roll my eyes at the fact that Morgan Edge really was Clark's half brother but honestly that part makes sense especially after watching the Syfy show Krypton and seeing how much the world focused on genetic engineering. It's the fact that he ended up on Earth that I don't love cause I never really like when there are tons and tons of aliens from Krypton who escaped before the destruction since more Kryptonians means Clark is less special. I also don't know if I love the fact that Jor El never actually told Clark that he had a half brother but I did like that we finally got a glimpse of this universe's Jor El and it was super sweet that the first thing Clark did after saving the day was take his mom's consciousness to the Fortress so that he didn't have to lose her for the third time. What I'm not entirely sure of is whether Morgan Edge followed him to the Fortress or if we're somewhere else cause the whole dark and empty landscape thing was not helping. Also as a sidebar Lana is such a badass and I wish that she had someone better for her than Kyle the hot mess but also I'm still on the Jonathan going dark bandwagon even though I don't particularly want to be.

Hmm looks like the promo for next week is showing us that we'll actually be getting a flashback to when Clark first became Superman which is interesting. I wonder if it's meant to make him reaffirm his love for humanity while he's suffering from a solar flare.

Loki Season 1 Episode 2

Well okay no one is shocked that the Loki we're chasing is Lady Loki but I am really curious to find out what she wants. Our Loki despite everything still wants to rule and he's switched his target from the Nine Realms or whatever to the TVA but Lady Loki just bombed the sacred timeline which means that she must want to destroy the TVA or find the Time Keepers. Maybe she's pissed at the way her story was written in the sacred timeline and wants revenge or maybe she wants to fix problems like Ragnarok? Speaking of what's interesting is the fact that the TVA file says that Ragnarok killed a major portion of the Asgardian population but I was fairly certain in Thor Ragnarok that Thor and Loki saved most of the population if not all but if that's not the case then the jokes that Taikia placed right as everyone watched Asgard explode was really much more horrible than I first thought! Part of me is glad that Loki followed Lady Loki into that portal cause I want to know more about her but the rest of me is a little sad that everyone who distrusted Loki was proven right. It sucks that Moebius is going to be blamed for all this even though really if Loki wasn't in the field or if this mission wasn't sanctioned, everything would still have gone down the same way so bygones and all that maybe??

My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 13

Even though I can't help but feel like all of the Class A v Class B stuff was low key filler even if it did showcase to us how much our kids grew over the course of 5 seasons, this episode was definitely more of a transitional one than the previous ones cause it definitely feels like we're building up to something really hitting the fan. I couldn't remember what happened to Best Jeanist but I thought he was okay last we checked after the All For One fight so the fact that he's missing has me curious. Did he just recently disappear and is this disappearance more of a missing/kidnapped thing or that he's taking a break? I feel like the fact that the rest of 1A doesn't know must mean it's the second but either way him disappearing means that Katsuki and Deku can go with Shouto to intern with Endeavor which makes me happy cause the more Shouto we get the better!
