Top 10 TV Shows of 2015

Hi all!! So this top 10 tv shows and movies list has become somewhat of a tradition on my blog which is awesome! So if you've seen these before, you know how my lists work. If you haven't, I list my top 10 favorite tv shows of the year. These are all based on my own personal preferences and if you disagree with a listing, let me know in the comments! If you want to look at the Top 10 Shows of 2013 or the Top 10 TV Shows of 2014, click on the links to check them out. There will be spoilers below so if you're planning on starting any of these shows, go watch them and come back!!!

So up first are my honorable mentions. So last year my honorable mentions were ones that I really liked but were cancelled or not airing anymore. This year I watched way too much tv sooooo my honorable mentions are ones that I enjoyed but were not on my top 10.

Supergirl

Up first is Supergirl! So as you all knew, I was pretty excited for Supergirl to air and now that is has aired, I am a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy this show but not as much as my other ones. Kara is precious and I love Alex and Cat and Maxwell Lord but James and Winn seem so pointless to me. Neither boy has been developed into characters yet and they just irritate me when they appear on the screen. I know what you're going to say: "But Allie, it's only been half a season" but in response to that, the first half of the season is supposed to be where all the characters are fleshed out if I'm being honest. James is just a pretty boy who Kara has a crush on and Winn is just creepy. I used to be annoyed with Hank as well but after the big reveal of him being Martian Manhunter, I've suddenly started to like him. The feminism theme is a little heavy handed to me as well. Rather than telling me how great and strong Kara is, I would love Supergirl to show me! But despite this, I do really like this show and click here to see all my Supergirl posts! The second half of season 1 will return in January!

Reign

So looking back at my previous top 10 lists made me notice that I listed Reign in my top 10 during season 1 but not season 2. The reason for this is despite loving most of the storylines and the costumes and most of the characters, the writers seem to love triangles which drives me crazy. I really enjoyed season 1 and the beginning of season 2 but then Mary got raped and then she "fell in love" with Conde (aka not her husband) and basically a storyline which could have been a way to have Mary grow turned into a storyline about how she was taken advantage of by some guy. Season 3 has finally started to go back to what I liked in season 1 and even though Francis (my favorite character) died, I'm interested in where the story is going. Unfortunately due to the bad taste season 2 left in my mouth, this show is going to stay on the honorable mentions. The second half of season 3 of Reign will return in January and click here to see all my Reign posts!

And now, MY TOP TEN!!!

Quantico

Coming in at number 10 is Quantico!! So this show is a new one that actually just aired this fall so it's kind of crazy that it's already on my top 10 but honestly this show caught me by surprise. I just randomly decided to watch this show and the first few episodes were okay but then out of nowhere, I was hooked! I love all the characters and the plot line! There are so many twists and turns, you don't know who to trust and I love that. The only thing I'd complain about is that I'm still not a fan of Alex's thing with Ryan cause I don't really think they have chemistry and I'm more interested in her being with Simon but that's just a small thing. The first season of Quantico returns in March! Click here to see all my Quantico posts!

Once Upon A Time

At number 9 is Once Upon a Time!! I bet this is surprising based on how high Once ranked last year but the thing with that was that I had binge watched the entire show last year and to be honest, the earlier seasons were much better than these two. The Queens of Darkness has to be the worst season of Once I watched without a doubt. Before that I thought the Wicked Witch season was my least favorite but while I was watching the Queens of Darkness arc, I was missing the Wicked Witch arc. The writers destroyed Rumple, Rumbelle and Outlaw Queen in one foul swoop and you all know Rumple was my favorite because of his troubled anti-hero thing. Watching that season it was like the showrunners completely forgot what made Rumple himself. To make things worse, Robin and Regina suddenly turned into a horrible soap opera with a secret baby from an evil sister. The only saving grace was Captain Swan and Hook but then this Dark Swan arc had to destroy them too. I was excited to see dark Emma but the whole season was a build up (and a boring one at that) to nothing and then out of the blue, Hook turned evil again and then one episode later, realized he was good again. What? Once Upon a Time returns for the second half of season 5 in March. Click here for all my Once Upon a Time posts!

Jessica Jones

Coming in at number 8 is Jessica Jones!! Another show in it's freshman year but one that I highly enjoyed. I was not expecting to enjoy this show based on my experiences with Marvel's Daredevil but after watching a full season, I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the show. I loved Jessica and Trish and their relationship. I really liked Malcolm and David Tennant was beyond amazing as Kilgrave. He brought the perfect amount of creepiness and mixed it with his David Tennant charm to make you pity a truly horrible character. The way they portrayed Jessica's PTSD and trauma was very realistic and her broodiness was not as annoyed as most characters. I binge watched this show in a weekend and I did not regret a single moment. There were some negatives in that I could have lived without Robin and Jerry but overall I really liked this show.

The Musketeers

At number 7 is The Musketeers!! So this show was on my list last year and it's on my list this year as well! Everything I loved about the Musketeers during season 1 was present in season 2 and the stakes were amped up! I fell even more in love with the characters this year and the storylines each episode were very fun to watch. I enjoyed watching the romances blossom and I'm very excited to see where the storyline about the war goes. I've never been more nervous than when Queen Anne was accused by the King and he found out that Aramis was actually the father of his son. Click here to see all my Musketeers posts!

Arrow

Coming in at number 6 is Arrow!! Ooh what a shot down on my top 10 list. Last year Arrow was my number 1 and this year it's at 6. The major reason for this is simply due to how little I enjoyed the second half of season 3 last year. I remember writing about how epic season 3 was going to be but after the midseason finale, it went downhill fast. There were episodes here and there that were interesting but as a whole, not so much. I do however think that the first half of season 4 seems interesting and I really like Damian Darkh as a villain. I'm pumped that Sara's alive again and that Olicity is finally a thing. My favorite thing about Olicity is that they're written without the over the top drama like last season. I like the new way the episodes are shot and Laurel is finally coming into her own. Click here to see all my Arrow posts!

The Flash

At number 5 is the Flash!! When I first started watching this show I thought it was fun but I didn't know how much I was going to enjoy it until now. The back half of season one of the Flash was beyond amazing and the finale had a couple of my favorite scenes from the show with Eddie dying and the black hole opening and THAT SHOT OF KILLER SNOW! I liked how they mostly dropped the procedural element of the show and now almost everyone knows Barry's secret so there's no awkward I have to run cause whatever thing. I am a little disappointed in the beginning of season 2 just because the finale for season 1 was so exciting and the show came back in the most boring way possible. Unfortunately this half of season 2 has mostly consisted of me waiting until something happens and the best episode of this half season has to be the Flarrow crossover which is awkward because it was 70% an Arrow episode and 30% a Flash episode. I do like Jay Garrick a lot though and I am excited to see more of the Zoom so here's hoping! The second half of season 2 airs in January! Click here to see all my Flash posts!

Outlander

Coming in at number 4 is Outlander!! I really enjoyed the first half of season 1 but like every other show that went through it's freshman year this year, the second half was where things really got interesting. Claire fell in love with Jamie and she finally started to really trust him. Black Jack got crazy evil and one of the best acted scenes I have ever seen was with Jamie in the cells when Black Jack was torturing and trying to rape him. The impact and the weight the show placed on Jamie's rape is unlike any other I have seen and it was exactly the way it should have been. Most shows just brush over it or pretend it never happened rather than digging into the grit of it all. I am excited to see Claire's pregnancy and the fact they are going to France is very interesting as it provides a way for the show to mix things up with a new cast and a new setting. Outlander will return for season 2 in March. Also click here to see all my Outlander posts!

The 100

At number 3 is the 100!! I don't even know what to say about this show to describe my love for it except season 2 is definitely the season to beat in my eyes. Most shows either have season 2 as their best like Arrow or they hit a slump like the Flash but luckily for all of us, the 100 is following Arrow's trend!! Every episode left you on the edge of your seat wanting more. The storylines this under appreciated show has touched upon are ones for the ages. Despite having so many characters in the cast, each one went through an arc and came out a different person. The episode where Finn died has to be one of my favorites but part 1 of the two part finale slayed me. I was sitting there in front of my TV with my jaw dropped and I didn't know what to do. The deaths are shocking and the romances are perfectly placed in the backdrop and family and friends are the backbone for this show. Each episode is better than the last and here's to (hopefully) an even better season 3! Click here to check out all my 100 posts!

Black Sails

Coming in at number 2 is Black Sails!! I feel like I keep saying the same thing over and over but honestly it's true. Season 2 was better than season 1 in that now that we truly knew each character, we could throw a bomb right in the middle of them and watch the audience's hearts explode. I loved every bit of season 2 from Eleanor and Vane's rekindled romance to Jack and Anne Bonny's plan to captain a ship and steal the Spanish gold to Flint's backstory revelation. I have never been more shocked (and in a good way) then when we found out that Flint was never in love with Miranda but her husband!! I loved seeing Jack and Bonny steal the treasure away from Flint's crew and the finale when Vane saved Flint's life stole my heart. I'm excited to see the English attack Nassau in season 3 and I can't wait for more epicness from this show. Season 3 returns in January! Click here to see all my Black Sails posts!

Agents Of SHIELD

AND FINALLY THE MOMENT OF TRUTH!! MY NUMBER ONE FAVORITE SHOW OF 2015 IS AGENTS OF SHIELD!! *Screams* *Confetti is thrown* But seriously guys, you had to have known this was coming. I have never been anything but in love with this show despite what others believe. I without a doubt think Agents of SHIELD is the best superhero show I watch let alone my favorite show this year. Each season has a new arc for every character and each season makes you fall more in love. Each episode raises the bar and each episode has a bigger and better storyline. I never thought I'd enjoy Bobbi and Mack as much as I do and the inhumans are amazingly fun to watch! The original cast just keeps getting better and better and the midseason finale where Ward was killed shocked me. I was not expecting him to die because hello it's Ward but Coulson did it. I am excited for the second half of season 3 to air and it will return in March! Click here to see all my Agents of SHIELD posts!

Well that's all for now! I hope you've enjoyed this peek into my mind. Tbh it's a lot of squealing and so I've tried to write all those feelings into words for you. Hopefully it worked out the way I wanted to! Tomorrow you'll be getting my Top 10 Favorite Movies of 2015 post so keep an eye out! Ta-ta for now!

New Fall 2015 Shows - Quantico and Supergirl

Hi everyone! So this fall 2015 shows list is very short because I wasn't interested in any new shows that aired except for two, Quantico and Supergirl! So here we go!

First up is Quantico. I saw trailers for this show and it looked interesting enough so I decided to check the show out. It started out a little slow but I've slowly warmed up to it. All of the characters are super interesting and I love the main character, Alex. The plot twists are fascinating and although I usually don't like flash forwards, I've warmed up to the ones this show has. I really enjoy the level of diversity this cast has and the plot of the show despite being iffy sometimes is interesting enough to follow. The one thing I don't know if I enjoy is the main romance because I still don't know how I feel about Alex's love interest in terms of being a character. I would definitely recommend checking this show out. It airs at 10 PM on ABC every Sunday.

I AM IN LOVE WITH THIS SHOW!!! You guys don't know how excited I was for this show to air. It was about time a female superhero was in the spotlight and although Supergirl isn't my favorite female superhero, watching the first few trailers for this show got me amped and the pilot did not disappoint. Melissa is ADORABLE as Kara and I love most of the characters shown in the pilot. The only character I'm iffy about is Winn aka the guy who works at CatCo with Kara and has a crush on her. I really enjoy the relationship between Alex and Kara and I'm loving the chemistry between Kara and James (lol). And can we talk about how great the CGI and action scenes are? I mean the fight choreography is nothing like Arrow but it's only the pilot and I'm sure they'll be plenty of time to flesh it out. Some of the feminist comments were a bit heavy-handed and the pilot did seem to rush a bit but it's understandable given the fact that this was a pilot. Despite all this, I really enjoyed the pilot and I'm definitely going to be watching the rest of the season. Check it out at 8 PM on CBS!

Supergirl First Trailer Thoughts

So as you can see by the title of this post, I'm going to be talking about the new Supergirl trailer that just dropped yesterday! You can check it out along with the synopsis for the show.

SUPERGIRL is an action-adventure drama based on the DC Comics character Kara Zor-El (Melissa Benoist), Superman’s (Kal-El) cousin who, after 12 years of keeping her powers a secret on Earth, decides to finally embrace her superhuman abilities and be the hero she was always meant to be. Twelve-year-old Kara escaped the doomed planet Krypton with her parents’ help at the same time as the infant Kal-El. Protected and raised on Earth by her foster family, the Danvers, Kara grew up in the shadow of her foster sister, Alex (Chyler Leigh), and learned to conceal the phenomenal powers she shares with her famous cousin in order to keep her identity a secret. Years later at 24, Kara lives in National City assisting media mogul and fierce taskmaster Cat Grant (Golden Globe Award winner Calista Flockhart), who just hired the Daily Planet’s former photographer, James Olsen (Mehcad Brooks), as her new art director. However, Kara’s days of keeping her talents a secret are over when Hank Henshaw (David Harewood), head of a super-secret agency where her sister also works, enlists her to help them protect the citizens of National City from sinister threats. Though Kara will need to find a way to manage her newfound empowerment with her very human relationships, her heart soars as she takes to the skies as Supergirl to fight crime. Greg Berlanti (“The Flash,” “Arrow”), Ali Adler, Sarah Schecter and Andrew Kreisberg are executive producers for Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. The pilot was directed by Glen Winter (“Arrow”).

So now for my thoughts. Overall I think the trailer looked great! I loved the shots we got and the lightheartedness of the show. Supergirl has never been an angsty Batman type character so I'm glad we didn't go that way. Melissa looks fantastic as Supergirl and although I had my doubts about her when she was first cast, she looks perfect in this trailer!! The short action scenes we caught a glance of were pretty badass and I'm looking forward to Kara kicking ass. The costume also looks much better on screen than in the pictures because it's not as dark as I first thought it was.

I know there's been a lot of complaints that the trailer makes the show look like a romantic comedy but I disagree. Despite the cheesy song at the end, the trailer makes Kara look like any other superhero. It gives off a lot of the Flash-type vibes and I think a lot of this first trailer is meant to show how empowering she is as a female. Each show usually drops a bunch of trailers with different vibes to them and this one is a little cheerier but the next one might be different. It's kind of rough to judge a show by the trailer and there's still plenty to be happy about.

I am a little worried however about the whole procedural aspect of the show because I've never been a fan. For example, iZombie would be so much better if they took out the cases and I think I'll feel the same way about Supergirl. I might give it a slight pass though if the procedural stuff is similar to the Flash where there's a "big bad of the week" sort of thing but then again, the Flash pilot started out differently than what it is now so maybe they'll drop the procedural part later on. Most shows usually do because a serialized storyline is always better.

Overall I'm definitely going to be checking out this show and I'm very pumped for it. If you have doubts, at least check out the first three episodes and remember, this is coming from the same guys who write Arrow and Flash so have some faith. It's okay to have a few bad episodes.

Avengers: Age of Ultron Review

Well the event of the year: Avengers Age of Ultron has finally arrived and it did not disappoint!! If you haven't watched this movie yet, come back when you have because I will be spoiling things. If you don't know what this is, have you been living under a rock?! Go educate yourself.

Despite a few hiccups, I thought this movie was amazing!! I loved every moment of it from the beginning to the end. I'll talk about the positives first before going into the few mistakes I think the movie made.

First off, I loved Ultron. James Spader voiced Ultron perfectly! It was the perfect mix of creepy but also hilarious. I liked how Ultron had a lot of Tony Stark's personality traits from his jokes and sassiness to the way he intimidated others. When he first appeared on the screen, I got chills. His line about having no strings on him causes goosebumps and I loved how he continued with that theme throughout the movie. I also liked how he yearned for a human body despite also hating humanity. I also enjoyed the idea that he believed that the only way to save the world was though destroying everything and starting over again. I also didn't mind that he wasn't as cool as in the comics because if they had followed the idea that Ultron killed all the Avengers and then the Avengers went back in time to stop Ultron from being created, the movie would have resembled X-Men: Days of Future Past.

I loved the comedy that was intertwined amidst the action sequences. I loved that the "language" joke was threaded throughout and the one-liners were hilarious. I also highly appreciated Chris Evans and the shirts they made him wear. The action sequences and the fighting were epic and the fact that Hayley Atwell was in this movie made me smile. I love that the writers aren't just dropping the fact that Steve loved Peggy and that he hasn't moved on already. They finally got their dance *sobs loudly* In fact, I liked all the cameos throughout this movie from Falcon to Rhodey to Fury to Maria Hill. Vision was pretty cool too although his entrance was awkwardly out of nowhere. Avengers Academy was fun as well.

Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch may have been my favorite parts of this movie. I was a little worried going into this movie because I loved the X-Men version of Quicksilver a lot but honestly, this version of Quicksilver was so different that I never once even thought about it. Both Olsen and Taylor-Johnson were amazing actors and I loved the Eastern European accents they chose to use although Olsen did drop the accent a few times throughout the movie. Their powers were amazing and Scarlet Witch was badass. I actually gasped when Quicksilver was shot and I didn't see it coming cause I was expecting Hawkeye to die the entire time. It really is a shame because Taylor-Johnson is an amazing actor. The way Scarlet Witch screamed when he died was heart wrenching.

Now for the negatives.

First off, the movie was oddly disjointed for a Whedon film. Thor kind of popped in and out a lot and I kept catching myself wondering where he went. There was a joke made by Steve about whether Thor was taking a nap and I was sitting there "but like actually." Hawkeye's family came out of nowhere and didn't add anything to the plot. I kept thinking that maybe they would die or Hawkeye would but they were all fine. This movie was basically "Iron Man 4" with the amount of screen time Tony got compared to everyone else. Bruce was also oddly not his own person and kind of went along with whatever Tony said despite Tony not being very convincing. Their conversation basically went:

       Tony: Do the thing!
       Bruce: No I don't think it's right.
       Tony: Oh come on!
Bruce: Well when you put it like that.... Okay!

I also didn't enjoy the Bruce and Natasha romance. When I first heard about it, I was on board but the way they were portrayed was oddly unsettling. I liked their first two scenes with the lullaby and the bar flirting scene but then it got too much. It felt like Natasha was only allowed to have scenes with Bruce and the relationship seemed rushed and out of nowhere. You know it's bad when the girl in the audience is groaning at a romance. I hated the scene where Natasha was in jail and she literally just sat there waiting for Bruce to save her. The jail cell was only locked and you can't tell me that THE Black Widow couldn't pick a lock. The ending was strange too when Natasha just stood around staring at a wall because she was so sad that Bruce left her. I'm really hoping that her character is fixed a little in the next few movies. Make no mistake, my compliant isn't that I think Natasha can't have a romance but the way it was gone about.

But despite these small problems, I really did enjoy this movie and I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars. It was a great showing for the Avengers. I can't wait until the next one and I think the Russo brothers were amazing at writing Cap 2 so I'm not afraid they're going to ruin the Avengers by taking over from Whedon. Definitely check out this movie if you haven't seen it!

New Spring TV Shows - iZombie, CSI: Cyber and Olympus

Hey guys! Sorry I've been MIA lately but you know how things are during the school year. I'm here today to do a quick review on new shows I've checked out this spring! Hope you enjoy.

First up is iZombie! When I first heard of this show, I wasn't very interested because the trailers made this show look weird. Despite this, I decided to check out this show seemed to have an interesting concept and I'm glad I did. The show is creative in the way it portrays zombies and Liv, the main character, is great. I love her personality and the way that she takes up the different personalities of the people who's brains she eats. I love two of the supporting characters, Ravi and Clive as well as the "villain" of the show, Blaine. A villain can make or break a show and in this case, I love him. He's the perfect mix of evil but also lovable. Also Bradley James is on this show and that is reason enough to check the show out!! Now in spite of all these positives, there are a few downsides of the show. Liv's major love interest Major and her best friend/roommate are extremely one-sided. They could die in the next episode and I wouldn't care. I'm also not a fan of the crime-drama procedural aspect of the show and in most episodes is the least interesting part of the episode. I'd definitely recommend that you check this show out because it's very fun and I'll definitely be continuing it. It airs at 9 PM on CW every Tuesday!

Next up is CSI: Cyber! Now originally I didn't even know this show was airing but I was bored one day and flipping through channels when I caught a rerun of this show's pilot. Since I had really nothing to do, I decided to check it out. Despite it being another crime drama and following the same pattern as most of the others, I ended up liking it. Most of the characters are fairly one-dimensional and the procedural aspect may get boring if you binge watch but it's a fun show to check out weekly. I like that the cases occur over the internet and deal with technology. One of the best parts is that if you miss an episode, it's not a big deal. It airs on CBS at 9 PM on Wednesdays.

And last but not least is Olympus! So if you know me at all, you know that Greek myths fascinate me. I love everything about them and I can never get enough of shows/movies/books that have to due with these myths so when I heard about this show, I was pumped. I had been watching Atlantis on BBC but if you know anything about BBC, it's that they love their procedural dramas and after a season of Atlantis, I was fairly disappointed because the show only used Greek myths as reasons for conflict and as a side plot. Thus I was hoping that this show would be good. After watching the first episode, I was saddened to discover that I wasn't a huge fan of the show so I skipped the next two episodes but finally decided to watch the next two episodes in the hopes that it was just the pilot that wasn't very good. After watching three episodes I realized that the show wasn't as bad as I originally thought. I really liked the main character and many of the supporting characters including the Oracle. One of my favorite parts was that none of the villains are truly black or white and live in the grey areas (you know me and my love for villains). Another positive was that the show was not procedural. I think what initially turned me off was the horrific CGI (seriously no lie) and that the pilot was very confusing. If you check out this show, you have to ignore the terrible CGI and watch up to at least the third episode. I'm definitely going to be continuing it. It airs on Syfy at 10 PM every Thursday.

I will also be checking out Daredevil (you didn't think I would skip a new superhero show now did you?), a BBC drama called Banished (you know me and my period dramas) and Aquarius (Claire Holt is on the show and I have to support my girl!) so keep a look out for another blog post! That's all for now!

The 100 Season 2 Episode 15 Review (Finale Part 1)

Hey all! So part 1 of the 2-part season finale of the 100 aired last night and boy do we have a lot to talk about!! Who's ready to jump right into a beyond fantastic episode?!

Okay so first off, let's talk about the overall plan of attack and then I can talk about each group one-by-one. So the leaders of the Ark and the Grounders met up in front of the main door to Mt Weather to discuss the overall plan (for the audience lol). They broke up into three groups: Raven and Wick who were in charge of shutting down power at the dam, Octavia and Indra with a bunch of grounders who were in charge of keeping the Reapers distracted and entering the base to save everyone and Clarke, Lexa, Lincoln and the rest of the army at the front door to distract Mt Weather from the Octavia's group. Bellamy was working to release the grounders on the inside and protect the 44. Sounds like a great plan right? That's why I thought before, you know, the ending.

Up first, let's talk about Raven and Wick. They were in charge of destroying the dam and apparently they had five bombs for all five parts of the dam (sorry I totally forgot the name of what they were blowing up) but Wick broke one so they only had four. They had a little bit of trouble with there being more security at the dam than expected and so what should have been a secret plan ended up being relayed to Cage at Mt Weather (which was annoying). They managed to blow up four of the machines and ended up frying the last one because it couldn't handle holding all of Mt Weather's electricity. I was terrified that one of them could be killed but after the blast it looked like both were okay although very injured and Raven's leg brace broke so she couldn't walk. Their last scene ended with a bunch of Mt Weather people coming in to shoot them and I was dying. I hate these kind of cliffhangers!!! Raven cannot die. Oh and there was relationship drama where Wick was acting like a baby for Raven using him as a one-time thing which luckily was fast because they don't have time for relationship stuff when everyone was counting on them. Wick also had his first kill which was so weird because by now we all expect the 100 to be super violent and everyone's already killed already so Wick's reaction was jarring which quickly led to sympathy.

Up next is Octavia and Indra and their mission. They entered the tunnels through which the reapers go through and were attacked by some reapers. Luckily the tone-generator that Raven built worked perfectly and they were able to sedate the reapers instead of having to kill them. This scene was kind of hard to watch because it was so dark that I couldn't really tell what was happening. I know I know. That's supposed to be realistic but honestly I'd rather see what's happening. Indra told Octavia that she was officially welcomed into the Tree People which was so sweet but by the end of the episode she was back to being a Sky person and Octavia stated that she has no home. I hope when she finds out what happened, she'll have a little more sympathy for Clarke and decide not to hate her anymore.

Bellamy had a lot of trouble because as Cage figured out what was happening, he started to kill people to find the 44 which was ironic because he had stated earlier that the 44 were killing the Mt Weather people. He released the grounders and started to send the 44 to the harvest room but ended up stuck when he was looking for Monty because they found out from Monty that the other 44 were taken from the harvest room and brought to level 5 where all the Mt Weather soldiers were. Poor Monty hid when the others were attacked and he was feeling guilty but honestly it's better that he stayed back not only because I love him but also because Bellamy, Jasper and Maya needed to know what was happening. Speaking of Jasper and Maya, they had a conversation about their future because since Maya never got a bone marrow treatment, she will die outside of the base so when the Grounders and the Sky People attack the base, she'll probably die. Jasper didn't seem to be very worried though but as much as I love the two of them, I don't really see any way that they'll survive together.

Cage was busy this episode trying to "save" his people but he couldn't figure out a way to do anything so he went to Dante who at first was hesitant to say anything but was eventually convinced to help out. Because of Dante, the entire plan was shot apart and Cage captured several more of the Sky People for bone marrow treatments. I don't understand Dante because although he refuses to take the treatments, he helps destroy the "enemy" and allows Cage to continue to capture more of the Ark people. It's annoying and I really hope someone kills him in the next episode.

And now for the main part of the episode which followed Clarke, Lexa and Lincoln. Everything was going according to plan until they started being shot at while they were trying to open the door. Unfortunately they only had a total of a minute to get the door open. As the clock counted down, Lincoln decided to shoot the device at the door and it opened just in the nick of time. Clarke and Lexa decided to split up so Lexa could take a few Grounders and go kill the Mt Weather soldiers who were shooting at them while Clarke and Lincoln led the army at the front door. Lexa shared a small moment with Clarke when she asked Lincoln to watch out for Clarke and headed off. As Clarke was about to give the order to attack, Lexa stopped her and the army. It turned out Lexa made a deal with the Mountain men to leave if they gave her the grounders inside which they ended up doing and Lexa led the army away. Oddly enough all of the Ark people and Lincoln left with them so it was just Clarke and Octavia, who also heard the horn but decided to disregard Indra's wishes, staying.

I can't even explain how irritated I was at Lexa. I kept expecting her to die at the end of the finale because she made this big speech to Clarke about going to the capital with her but instead this happened. Lexa claimed that Clarke would do the same thing if she was in Lexa's spot but I highly doubt Clarke would place the safety of her people over the Grounders too. I don't see how Clarke could forgive Lexa after this betrayal which Lexa must have known and decided wasn't important enough. It makes me worried to think about how the 44 will be saved now. There aren't enough Ark people outside to help and now that the entire plan has been destroyed, I'm hoping Octavia and Clarke will find each other and sneak in together to kill off the Mountain men one-by-one, possibly with the help of Bellamy, Monty and Maya.

So as you can tell, I really really enjoyed this episode. The twist at the end practically gave me a heart attack but in a good way and I would definitely give this episode an A! The 100 gives me so much anxiety and I'm way too invested in a bunch of fictional characters but hey, that's what makes good tv right?

Agents of SHIELD Season 2 Episode 11 Review

So I was pumped to watch last night's episode of Agents of SHIELD but when I finally finished the episode, I realized it wasn't as exciting as I wanted it to be.... Now don't get me wrong, I thought it was a great episode overall but ever since season 2 rolled around, I've had very high expectations for this show, which were made even higher after the midseason finale. So overall I'd give this episode an about average B.

Let's talk about the Bakshi-Coulson plot first. When Coulson first proposed the "let's bring Bakshi to Talbot in plain view of the world," I wasn't a fan. I was confused because Coulson is much smarter than that and it was clear that Hydra would be able to stop them with that plan, especially when they weren't going to bring any back-up. Then on top of this, May and Coulson just randomly started talking about Whitehall and his death in front of Bakshi. But when it was finally revealed that Hunter was the one who lead Bakshi away, I changed my mind. It was a great plan!! I loved that Coulson out-thought the head council of Hydra, who by-the-way we've never seen before. Where were they when Whitehall was running amuck with Cal? Anyway, I loved the idea of the heads of Hydra devouring themselves rather than having SHIELD do it. I'm assuming that since Bakshi STILL hasn't been killed off, he's going to become the new head of Hydra (after it rebuilds itself) and he will lead the new Hydra against SHIELD. Having said this, I doubt this will happen until the end of season 2 because the main plot of this part of season 2 seems to be the inhumans (or at least I hope so).

Next I want to talk about the characters and how they changed since Tripp's death. At first I was totally on board with Mack hating on Coulson and his plans because let's be honest, we've all had our moments where Coulson annoyed us but then he turned his attack on aliens and Skye. It's hard with this show because we know more than the characters do so it's kind of frustrating having to watch the characters play catch-up. WE all know what happened to Skye and who the inhumans are but no one on the show does.

Simmons was similar in her hatred of aliens. She has had this will-they won't-they thing with Tripp last season and although the show seemed to forget about that this season, it helped in explaining why she thought the way she did with the aliens and wanting to eradicate them. I was very thrown-back when she brought up killing Raina to Coulson and May because Simmons has always been a sweet girl but after thinking about it a little more, it made sense. Of the group, Simmons has always been the analytical one. It would make sense that she compartmentalized her feelings, especially after seeing Raina kill some SHIELD members, and decide to look at it from a scientific point of view. Because again, the members of this show don't know that inhumans aren't a virus. All they know is that Raina has been turned into a creature with thorns on her and Tripp was killed.

Skye spent most of this episode in a quarantine room, freaking out. She was terrified that she had been changed and it didn't help that people kept coming to her and talking about how much they wanted to kill the aliens. I was hoping to see more of her earthquake powers but I did like she broke that light. I really want her to be able to find someone who will help her with her newfound powers without judging her and SPOILERS (I'm excited for the new character to show up who will do just that).

Fitz the sweetheart was the one to support Skye in the end. Honestly thinking back, of course it had to be him. Fitz has always been the one to look for good in people and he's changed so much this season that he knows what it's like to have to adjust to being different. I was pissed at him for a second for freaking out and running away when he realized that Skye had powers but he made it up when he returned after replacing Skye's blood with an old sample. The hug between Skye and Fitz was so sweet and I loved how he told Skye that she may be different now but that's not a bad thing. It was exactly what Skye needed to hear and I really hope this means that Skye and Fitz will become even closer friends because there was little to no interaction between them in the first half of the season.

I felt so bad for Raina this entire episode. She had been the one who wanted to use the Obelisk and she's the one who was physically changed in such a way that it scared everyone else. When she moves, it physically hurts and that's a terrifying thought. She turned to Cal in hope that he would help her but all he cared about was the fact that Skye had been affected too. I was literally holding my breath when she tried to walk into traffic, which by-the-way is like the worst way to kill yourself. When Gordon saved her, I was relieved and I kind of hope the show decides to forgo the whole "she's a villain while Skye's the hero" thing. I would love for Skye and Raina to be on the same team and I'm not sure where Gordon stands. He was trained by Skye's mom so I'd hope he'd at least not be a villain.

The episode ended with Bobbi and Mack being all sketchy. Honestly I was suspicious when Mack apologized to Coulson but when the toy car he built found Fury's box, I was annoyed. I really hope the two of them aren't Hydra because we've already seen the whole sleeper agent storyline with Ward (who was unfortunately left out of this episode). I read some comments about Bobbi possibly being part of Leviathan and the Black Widow Academy which would be fascinating but since Bobbi is Mockingbird in the comics, I doubt that would happen. More likely is the idea that Bobbi and Mack are working for Maria Hill who in turn is working for Tony Stark. They probably want to build their own SHIELD or they want to keep an eye on Coulson and that's why they have Bobbi and Mack spying.

So overall I did like the episode and I believe I covered everything. What did you think? Did this episode meet your expectations? If I missed anything or want to leave your opinion, leave me a comment below!

New Winter Shows - The Librarians and Agent Carter

So I'm back with my thoughts on two new winter shows! Let's jump straight into it shall we? Warning: There may be spoilers below.

Up first is The Librarians on TNT! This show was one that I saw trailers for in the fall and I was very excited to check it out but when it aired, I had forgotten that I was interested. It was only by chance that I was watching something on TNT and a promo for the 4th episode aired causing me to remember how much I wanted to check the show out so I finally did. It is amazing! The show is very Doctor Who-esque and that's a positive! The characters are all very quirky and I love seeing them solve problems. Each character has their own strengths and weaknesses but as a team, they gel very well. Where one falls, another picks them up! Although at first glance the show seems procedural, the overarching villain remains constant and appears to be behind almost every problem the show faces which I love because you know how much I prefer serialized stories! It's a very interesting take on the mythical world and I definitely enjoy it. It airs Sundays at 8 on TNT and I definitely recommend checking it out!

Next up is Agent Carter on ABC! Everyone and their mother knows how much I love superheroes and superhero tv shows so you had to have guessed how excited I was for this to air! I watched the Agent Carter One Shot when it first came out and I loved it so much so I was pumped for this show to start. And can I just say, this show did not disappoint!? I sat through the two hours on the edge of my seat and excited as hell. Hayley Atwell killed it every time she was on screen and I loved the scenes Howard Stark was in! I can't wait until other characters from the movies (especially the Howling Commandos) appear! The show was very well shot and it was very reminiscent of a movie. The fight scenes and all of the spying was fantastically written, choreographed and shot. I loved all the undercover moments and how Peggy was basically ahead of all the guys. I also really enjoyed how although it appears that there will be a "big 'bad baby' [thank you Howard Stark] of the week", the show doesn't give off procedural vibes and each episode seamlessly flows into the previous one. I think the portrayal of the 40s was perfect although many would disagree because I don't think the show wrote the men as idiots. I think that all the men but one seem very smart but have a different mission than Carter so their focus is elsewhere until the two missions converge. I also believe the show hinted at the fact that these men weren't chosen to be spies in the SSR because of their skill but because of their war merits. If you aren't watching this show, I would definitely recommend that you should! It airs Tuesdays at 8 on ABC.

And that concludes my thoughts on these new winter shows! Thanks for checking in and leave your thoughts in the comments!

The Musketeers Season 2 Episode 1 Thoughts

I just watched the Musketeers season 2 episode 1 and I loved it so much that I decided that my first post of 2015 will be a review of the episode! Let's get to it shall we? There will be spoilers below so if you haven't watched the episode yet, watch it and come back!

One of the best parts of the first season was the Cardinal but Peter Capaldi left the show to be the Doctor so I expected there to be some sort of a farewell. Because of this expectation, it was a little strange to come back and see his funeral. At the very least he should have been in this episode and had the heart attack during the episode so we'd get a little more closure. I'm not sure how I feel about the new villain Rochefort. The show is portraying him as loyal to the Spanish and truly "evil" but I keep getting these hints that he may not only be playing the French but also the Spanish. It would be much more interesting if Rochefort turned out to loyal only to himself and looking for the highest bidder. A more ambiguous villain is a more interesting one. However it's still very early so I'll withhold judgement. But having said that, when Marc Warren appeared on the screen having cut his hair, can I just say wow?

The mission itself was a simple and slightly boring one. The Musketeers were tasked with rescuing a French general from a Spanish prison while Rochefort tried to get them killed. Now as interesting as this could have been, it was kind of lame that they even tried this storyline. The Musketeers are about these four men so unless the show really really wants to try something risky, we all know that each episode will end with all four men safe. I don't think I was even worried once. Also the jail didn't seem all that bad. The general was playing chess with the head of the guard lol.

I did enjoy some moments of the rescue mission however because one thing the show does really well is comedy. When D'Artagnan attacked that guard and dragged him into the room where the general's sister was bathing, I laughed. I also enjoyed how easily D'Artagnan defeated the head of the guard and when the general's sister smacked him for almost shooting her brother. It was interesting to see the general's reaction to Porthos and at first I thought it might be a racist thing but I'm glad they decided to go a different route. I'm glad Porthos is finally getting a storyline and here's hoping it's a good one!

The tension between D'Artagnan and Constance was also fun. The way their relationship ended last season was sad but I expected the two to continue acting as they had with the only difference being that Constance's husband knew and couldn't do anything about it so I was surprised at the fact that Constance was keeping her distance. I laughed so hard when the Bonacieuxes ran into the Musketeers and Aramis, Athos and Porthos distracted the husband so D'Artagnan and Constance could talk. I also loved when her husband thought that the king summoned him and it was actually Anne who summoned Constance. I'm excited to see where this goes and I hope Anne and Constance actually become friends! They're two of the best women on the show! Honestly I think this show needs an all-girls episode where the women have to solve a problem while the men are busy. I would love to see them and Milady all team up!

I'm not thrilled about the love triangle and I saw it coming from the first interaction D'Artagnan had with the general's sister. I understand that D'Artagnan is pissed that Constance didn't choose him but he was acting like such an ass. Everything Constance said about being a woman was true and she never once claimed that she didn't love him yet D'Artagnan acted really selfish which is a weird route to take for the hero of a show. I expected him to be a little more understanding.

It doesn't seem as though Athos will be having much of a storyline yet. He spent most of the episode fighting and being there for Aramis who was really sad that he couldn't interact with his son. I really dislike babies in tv shows so I hope that the dauphin doesn't become the forefront of episodes and that he stays in the background. I loved the awkwardness between Aramis and Anne and it makes me curious of how Aramis feels about her. I do not think he ever acted like or said that he was in love with her but he acts jealous sometimes. I loved the ending where the Cardinal "came back from the grave" to threaten Aramis. It was a bit strange to see Aramis's reaction to Adele's death because honestly the writers did not treat that storyline well. If Aramis supposedly did love her, why didn't he ever think about her or mention her after the first episode of last season? I do however like that the Cardinal's influence has not disappeared and it will be interesting to see what else happens with that.

Despite all the negative things I said about this episode, I really truly did enjoy it and I can't wait for the next episode to air! I thrilled there's a season 2 and I'm excited for Milady to come back. I loved jumping back into the show and not missing a beat! Did I mention I missed this quartet? The next episode looks really interesting and I hope that D'Artagnan is able to protect/save King Louis instead of someone else coming to the rescue because that would be a fun dynamic if the King started to trust D'Artagnan. Maybe he would even look to D'Artagnan over Rochefort leading to their rivalry like in the books!!

Well that's all for now! I'll see you next week for a review of Agent Carter!!
