Here's what I'm watching this week! Of course the list is split by country and episodes I've seen so far are written below! There will be spoilers from now on so if you aren't caught to the episode number I list, you might want to go watch that episode and then come back! KDRAMA

Are You Human Too? (28/36): The drama tells of an android called Nam Shin III who must pretend to be the son of a rich family when the real Nam Shin falls into a coma. Nam Shin's mother, Oh Ro Ra is a genius on brain technology and artificial intelligence (AI) so when her son, the real Nam Shin, is taken away from her at a young age, in her grief she creates an android that looks exactly like her son and has it grow up in the place of Nam Shin. But when Nam Shin, who is a third generation heir to PK group, gets in an accident and is comatose, the android Nam Shin III must learn how to take his place.

As this show goes on I can't help but feel more and more pity towards Shin and get more and more irritated on behalf of him. I mean yes I feel empathy for Nam Shin III but I just can't help but put myself in Shin's shoes and I love that he lay it straight out for So Bong when they talked on the balcony and it was very telling that she had no response to his question about how she would feel. And let's be honest, So Bong probably would have acted the exact same way Shin does based on her past actions. Honestly I don't understand where this show is going. Everyone is pretty much an asshole except for Nam Shin III so like is the plan to make the audience despise everything so that when he "dies" we'll be #shooketh? Like seriously. I was glad that we got a bit more from Shin's POV this week so we can see that he's more than just throwing tantrums and I'm at the point where I want him to just ignore everything/everyone and focus on what he wants to do. It's ironic that even the people who supposedly love him won't just stop for a second and ask him what he wants. I really do wonder who he is cause it seems like he puts on a different face with everyone and I hope that by the end of this show we at least get a moment where he can be real. Is he actually sweet and the brash attitude is a shield? Or is he straight up an asshole after all that he's been through? It's also interesting that we revealed that his dad didn't actually commit suicide and that he might even still be alive which would be such a plot twist! It's honestly starting to get so hard to remember who knows what cause there are so many secrets in play! Also Nam Shin III and So Bong are still adorable but I keep wondering where they will end up with 8 episodes left. It seems too few for So Bong to fall for Shin (especially cause he's being an ass) so I think there'll be a tragic ending in store for us.
Thirty But Seventeen/Still Seventeen (4/32): Woo Seo Ri, a violin prodigy at 17 who was about to study in Germany, got into a bus accident and fell into a coma waking up 13 years later. Mentally she is still only 17, while physically she is now 30. Gong Woo Jin is a 30 year old single man who works as a set designer. Due to a trauma he experienced 13 years before, he does not want to have a relationship with others. This series is about a man and a woman whose lives have been mangled due to a grisly accident. Together, they use all their might to try and open the door to happiness that they once thought had been closed to them.

I started this show cause it sounded interesting enough in the synopsis and cause Yang Se Jong who I loved in Temperature of Love was in it and honestly I'm really enjoying the show so far which makes me so happy cause I need more currently airing dramas to enjoy! The premise of this show is fascinating and so heartbreaking as well cause can you even imagine how traumatic it would be to have lost 13 years of your life?? My heart was breaking for Seo-Ri as she slowly put together what happened and also what she lost. Not only did she lose all those years of her life but she lost her best friend and her aunt and uncle didn't care enough to stick around. I'm assuming that the guy who visits her is that doctor who was in love with her when they were young but that the one who pays for her rehab fee is actually Woo-Jin out of guilt for what he thinks led to the death of the girl he had a crush on. I love the set up for the cohabitation antics we probably will be getting cause I'm always a sucker for that and I can't wait to see more! It's going to take forever before Woo-Jin actually figures out that Seo-Ri is the girl that he was in love with when he was young but I'm hoping that the reveal that she was in a coma for 13 years comes earlier than that cause Woo-Jin is so prickly right now and I can't wait until he softens a little!
FINISHED What's Wrong With Secretary Kim (16/16): What's Wrong With Secretary Kim revolves around the narcissistic Lee Young Joon, the vice president of a company run by his family. He is very self absorbed and thinks highly of himself, so much so that he barely acknowledges the people around him. Lee Young Joon has a capable and patient secretary in Kim Mi So who has remained by his side and worked diligently for 9 years without any romantic involvement. But Mi So has grown tired of her frustrating boss so when she decides to resign from her job, hilarious misunderstandings ensue. After 9 years of their strictly-workplace relationship, can it now develop in something more?

When this show started I thought it was so hilarious and unique which is why I fell in love with it so quickly and as the show went on, it was still sweet but it started to wear on me a little cause as adorable as the shenanigans were, I wanted a bit more substance over fluff which is pretty much the opposite of what this show gave. Don't get me wrong, I still really enjoyed watching this show but it probably won't go down as my favorite drama of the year and I don't know what it is but the main couple though I think were adorable, I wasn't like yearning for more moments with them. Maybe it's cause they spend 90% of episodes together and it's too much for me... But let's talk about what I liked about this show. One thing this show did really well was get me invested in the side characters! My favorite moments are ironically the stuff in the office more than anything else and I loved the progression of the relationship between Go and Ji Ah. When they first started interacting I thought Go was super irritating but my heart broke for them this week when he told her he didn't want to make her live a terrible life so when he changed his mind (like we all knew he would) it was so sweet. Yang and Bong are hilarious as well and I was dying that everyone in the office knew that they were dating cause they really were awful at trying to hide it and I was like is everyone just that daft that they couldn't pick up the vibe?? The drunk shenanigans this week were great too and thank you show for not giving me any rich parent disapproval stuff that I despise. The proposal was also really sweet (though it did go on a little too long and I was just like dude we get it) and the wedding was sweet as well. Overall this was a fun show and I'd give it a 8 / 10.
Your House Helper (16/32): The daily life of an average working woman involves: a packed subway during the rush hours, a miserable old boss, juniors clawing their way up, mounting credit card debt, and a rusty and tired body... And above all, the worst is the endless housekeeping work that awaits her at home. But what if a handsome guy appears and takes care of all the housekeeping work for her? And not only that, what if he solves the problems in her complicated and confused life? In this drama, a male house helper does housekeeping works in different women's houses and tries to solve their issues.

As expected Ji Woon had no memory of the kiss with Da Yeong but more strange was the fact that he was thinking of his ex girlfriend when he kissed her and though we know that Da Yeong doesn't which is super awkward cause she's casually falling for him and he's got someone else in his mind. I was glad though that her awkwardness around him only lasted like one episode and she quickly decided to both not tell him about the kiss and to keep it quiet until she figured out how she felt about him too which was so mature tbh. I struggle with her character cause I enjoy her growing relationship with Ji Woon but I cannot stand her office antics cause they make me so embarrassed for her and seriously this week where was her brain? If she knew that ppt was so important why wouldn't she double and triple check before she left the house that she had it?? And now all her coworkers think she sleeps around cause she's on birth control and honestly that was the most irritating especially since two women were spreading the rumors and dude are they even real? At least guys can get away with being too dumb to know that birth control can be used for lots of problems but the women ugh. On the other hand I'm loving how adorkable Jin Kook is and how much he's into Sang Ah although it does feel a little early for the amount of love he has for her. It's a good thing he's a lawyer cause she definitely needs one right now! Even So Mi's relationship with that part-time bartender is adorable and I'm still thinking her brother somehow sexually assaulted her based on the flashbacks and how much she was shaking when she saw him in her nail salon again.

CDRAMA

FINISHED Face Off (42/42): The candid and straightforward Chen Zhen works as a salesgirl for cosmetics. She meets Wang Yi, a leading prosthetic makeup artist, at a fashion show by chance. And thus, commences her pursuit in the field of prosthetic makeup, while romance blossoms between the two.

I started this show cause Seven Tan was amazing in My Mr Mermaid (which is one of my favorite dramas) so I wanted to check this one out for her and though I really enjoyed the show overall, the final quarter of the show went so off the rails that it was crazy. Let's start with the stuff I liked. I loved that the main premise of this show was special effects makeup cause I always think that stuff is fascinating and I'm always so down whenever a drama chooses a field that's unique! My favorite part of the show though was definitely the relationship between Wang Yi and Chen Zhen. They were so adorable together and their chemistry was great and I loved watching them fall for each other and then work together against the world whether or not they were together. I really enjoyed pretty much everyone in the special effects world and all the side characters. One thing I hate about dramas though is that the villains always have to be redeemed or forgiven by our main characters and it annoys me cause sometimes villains are bad simply cause they're bad people and don't deserve forgiveness! I started out feeling bad for Wang Xiao cause the woman he loved led him on for like ten years but as the show went on, suddenly he went insane and not only forced her into marrying him but then raped her and held her captive in a secret location so she wouldn't be found. I was horrified and I'm so pissed that the show didn't give any consequences for this and seemed to be trying to tell us that he wasn't a bad guy and that all he needed was the right woman to love him. No one should be around him with a 50 foot pole! It also annoyed me that he was such a big part in Chen Zhen and Wang Yi's breakup. I hate when female leads are so naive that they pick the side of someone else over their boyfriend's. Like you spend all your time with this person and you know who he is so why on Earth would you think that clearly your boyfriend is overreacting/misreading a situation if he's not the type? The evil father was also forgiven which was irritating as well cause no where did he deserve forgiveness either. I did fall in love with Yun Yun and Qian Jin's slow building relationship though cause it was so sweet to see how he became a safe haven for her and how he was the only one who could make her happy. I was really worried that cause Wang Xiao was forgiven that their marriage wouldn't end but thankfully the show didn't screw that up! If it weren't for the last chunk of episodes, I would have ranked this show much higher but because the last chunk does exist, I think I'll have to give this show a 7.5 / 10.
Legend of Fu Yao (48/66): Meng Fu Yao, a woman born from a divine lotus petal. She journeys through the five continents towards the heavens in search of a secret order and to reveal a conspiracy originating from the heavens. In the process, she falls in love with the crown prince Zhangsun Wuji.

Wow so Fu Yao actually lifted another tier of her spell this week and man was it such an afterthought. I think at this point in the show I kind of have to accept that the spell-breaking aspect of the show isn't the main push afterall like I expected and let that go cause otherwise that'll pull me out of the show and prevent me from loving it like I do. Wu Ji's "death" did go on a bit long but I was thrilled to see my boy Bei Ye again and seeing him swoop in to save Fu Yao was so epic. He seems to be in love with Fu Yao as well and I feel so bad for poor Lan Zhu who literally gave up her eyesight for him this week. I do think that Bei Ye does have feelings for her evidenced by how worried he gets whenever she's hurt or in pain but since he's always been around her he doesn't know that what he feels is love. I did wonder for a second if Seven was into Lan Zhu cause he seemed a bit jealous when he saw her taking care of Bei Ye and tbh I would be down with that too. In Flame's Daughter when one of the guys lost his eyesight, he fell in love with the servant who took care of him and I could see something similar happening here. Honestly I just want my girl Lan Zhu to be happy however that is. Wu Ji and Fu Yao are still adorable together and I loved that he got jealous of Bei Ye cause dude has put Fu Yao through enough but my favorite thing about these two is how much they love each other and how they don't try to hide it. Their love strengthens them and it's nice cause in so many of these shows, the main pair try to hide their love or are constantly undergoing fear of rejection and it's nice that we have such a solid emotional pair. My favorite thing about this show is that though it's all about politics, it's done in a fun way where practically every other week our crew is putting on a show for a different ruler and it's amazing to watch cause I'm just casually dying over in my corner about how awesome they are. In most political shows our good guys are constantly destroyed by schemes and it's just fun to see the bad guys be the ones befuddled.
Meteor Garden (18/48): An ordinary girl is admitted to the most prestigious school in the country where she encounters F4, an exclusive group comprised of the four wealthiest and handsomest boys in the school - Dao Ming Si, Hua Ze Lei, Xi Men and Mei Zuo.

I'm getting a little tired of Shan Cai acting like a moron if I'm being honest even though objectively I shouldn't be that upset with how obtuse she is cause we're not even halfway through the show so it makes sense that she refuses to acknowledge both her and Si's feelings. I feel like maybe this is more of a writing problem cause straight up Si has told her over and over that he likes her and she's still running around like why is he so nice to me? Like damn girl what do you think? The show should have written is more as she knows but isn't sure of her feelings instead of being like why. It also wasn't fun to see Si attack Shan Cai's friend from high school cause it was so out of line and I really don't like when he lets his temper fly like that but it did lead to that great moment from the other versions of the story where he gets beat up for her. I really forgot that this hadn't happened yet cause in Hana Yori Dango this moment happened before the cooking contest (though it was a beauty pageant in the Japanese version) but I kind of like it here. I do hope now that Si's birthday is coming up and because his mom is coming into town that Si and Shan Cai will finally admit their feelings and be in a relationship cause I don't think their current weird back-and-forth can stand up to her. I'm really hoping that since this show has modernized the concept and made it more realistic that his mom's objection to a poor girl won't be as intense! I was surprised that the girl who competed with Shan Cai in the cooking contest gave up on the chef she liked cause she knew he didn't like her cause that's what a normal human would do but in dramas they always go insane and honestly I was so proud of that girl. Get with Mei Zuo! I also really love Xi Men with Shan Cai's friend and I kind of hope that happens by the end of the show.
Sweet Combat (6/38): As the eldest daughter of the Fang Conglomerate, Fang Yu was raised to become the sole successor of the company, yet she goes against her family's objections to pursue boxing and won the championship title at the young age of 18. On the other hand, Ming Tian comes from a poor family. He once stopped schooling for three years in order to work and he decided to apply for a sports scholarship despite not having any background whatsoever. Fang Yu was one of the first to see his talents and their relationship grows over time.

I'm hardcore loving this show already! You know how much I love any show set around college aged students (spoilers it's cause that's where I am in my life and so I relate most to this time period) and I've always had a soft spot for shows about sports so when this drama came across my feed, I jumped to check it out. It has everything I love in a show so far and it reminds me of a mix of Weightlifting Kim Bok Joo and My Mr Mermaid and Fight My Way all rolled together. I'm loving the characters we've met so far and the premise seems like fun. I can't wait to see how much boxing we'll get in this show and when Ming Tian joins them. I can already see the chemistry between our main leads and at first I was kind of annoyed that we started once again with the whole enemies to lovers trope, I don't actually think that's what is going on. I'm fairly certain Fang Yu is already crushing on Ming Tian but because she's so socially awkward she doesn't know how to interact with him and even when she's trying to be nice, it comes off as arrogant. It also doesn't help that she's a boxer and she reminds him of his dad and that he blames fighting for his family breaking up. I did like that he was able to see a softer side of her at the ice cream parlor and that he learned a little bit of her backstory which allowed him to apologize to her about misjudging her before. I'm hoping from now on they'll be friends at least! I'm also loving the building romance between Guan Yan and Ya Nan cause it's adorable seeing how he fell for her pretty much the first moment he saw her and she's like so against it. But straight up he deserves props for seeing her in menstrual pain and instead of being freaked out bought her hot chocolate. The only negative I think I can find about this show is the fact that Fang Yu is from a rich family cause I really don't want to deal with the whole "your significant other is too poor for us" trope but I'm hoping that it'll only last for a small while and I'm sure it'll be far off cause our main couple hasn't even gotten past the stage of what are these weird feelings I'm having.

TWDRAMA

FINISHED Behind Your Smile (19/19): Consumed by revenge, Zhao Yi Ting’s life becomes cold and meaningless. But when he meets Lei Xin Yu, a young woman whose wealthy family has fallen on hard times, everything changes. He is drawn to Xin Yu in a way that he has not felt in a long time. Will Yi Ting discover a new lease on life through her?

I don't even have enough words to describe just how much I loved every single moment of this show! This is not only the best twdrama that I've watched up to date but maybe one of my favorite dramas in general! Everything was perfect about this show. The revenge plot was written so well and may be the first time that I've actually enjoyed one! It never dragged for a moment and I was so pleased with how it all ended. I loved that for once the villains actually had consequences for their actions and the main characters didn't just blindly forgive them (even when they showed remorse.) All of the characters were so compelling and well written and everyone went through arcs of their own. I felt for so many of them and I wanted so many of them to have happy endings. The main thing though that sold this show for me was definitely the amazing chemistry and relationship between Yi Ting and Xin Yu. It's strange cause normally I'm not a huge fan of shows where the relationships start out with lies (cause I hate the breakup chunk of episodes) but something about this worked for me. I loved the way Xin Yu was portrayed as kind and bubbly but not feistyTM like so many female characters are in that she knew that she was naive and didn't go around thinking she knew better than everyone else. When something didn't feel right she attempted to get an explanation and I loved that even if most of the time Yi Ting let her go on with her misconceptions. Their relationship felt well paced and for once I was into the whole cliche girl warms a cold man's heart cause it felt so real in both the reason why he became cold and why she was able to break through to him. My biggest struggle with cold characters is that I never understand why they are way they are and why they fight to avoid love but it made all the sense here! I also have to say that I've never loved a bad boy more than in this show and guys whenever Yi Ting smirked and leaned in close to flirt with Xin Yu, my heart skipped a beat too! I'd definitely give this show a 9 / 10 and I seriously recommend you check it out if you haven't already!

KDRAMA

Are You Human Too? (24/36): The drama tells of an android called Nam Shin III who must pretend to be the son of a rich family when the real Nam Shin falls into a coma.

Nam Shin is finally awake and it's about time! I've really been enjoying Nam Shin III and So Bong bonding (cause that's pretty much everything that's been the best about this show since almost the start) but I was getting anxious for Shin to wake up. I love that he was smart enough to wake up but then pretend to still be asleep so he could figure out what exactly was going on. If he hadn't, everyone would just keep lying to him and poor Shin has dealt with enough honestly. I know that I'm supposed to view him as the villain right now cause he's being "mean" to his mom and Nam Shin III but honestly I see his side and when this show started I was just as disgusted as he was this week towards his mom for building Nam Shin I. I mean can you even imagine being in his shoes?? Like you grew up your whole life missing your mom and being surrounded by vultures who are just looking for a sign of weakness only to find out that your mom actually built a replacement for you and has been showering it with love. Like even if you put that into real world terms and you found out that your mom left you and made a new family and has been mostly happy with them, I would be bitter as hell.  Even Nam Shin III realizes it after he meets Shin and I'm hoping that he'll be able to explain it to the others so Shin doesn't go the villain route cause I do think Shin is a good guy at his core and it would be fun to see him and Nam Shin III work together to destroy the villains. At the same time I could see Shin and So Bong falling for each other and Nam Shin III going rogue cause he lost everyone he cared about based on the preview and Nam Shin III telling Shin that So Bong is his. Extra fun would be if David actually destroyed the kill switch and then it's like well shit now what to we do. But though I said that, I really don't think that will happen cause I feel like this show isn't going to go the trope-y route. I do wonder what a happy ending for this show will look like. Also I have to say it still is creepy as hell that So Bong is in love with Nam Shin III cause no matter how much he looks like a human, he's still a machine and I just can't wrap my head around falling in love with like my laptop who talks back to me.
FINISHED Circle: Two Connected Worlds (12/12): Taking place in both the present year 2017 and in the year 2037, when people believe that their future depends on humans controlling and regulating their emotions, this drama is a sci-fi mystery. When alien visitors arrive on Earth, humans learn new skills from them and take advantage of them; what ensues is a story of alliance, resistance, and love.

What an incredible show you guys! This would have never been my cup of tea normally but I wanted something different after watching a bunch of rom coms that just didn't work for me cause this show though set in a dystopian world (which is my preferred book genre) was marketed to have no romance in it which made me slightly hesitant but as I said in my post last week, I fell in love with this show. I finished it this week and let me tell you there was not a single moment in these 12 episodes in which I was bored or the show dragged. This show did a great job at asking the question what is humanity and do memories make a person? There were moments where you could see the villain's side and where they were coming from and made me question if they might be right in a sense. The reveals were incredibly well written and though I guessed what had happened to future Woo-Jin, I didn't predict that he was a clone or that Park was the Chairman cause I totally thought it was either Han or the father of the twins. I loved how everyone worked together to take down Human B and that Joon-Hyuk struggled with deciding if Woo-Jin was really his brother or not while Jung-Yeon believed it right away cause it dealt with their ideas of what makes a person a person. It was heartbreaking when the twins finally hugged and I loved how the show ended with Park who had lost his mind (a long time ago if we're being honest) dying while trying to save the cube. The romance between Woo-Jin and Jung-Yeon was also really well written and very believable even though I kind of wished that they had a real moment at the end other than just hinting heavily about how they felt. Other than that, the only thing that I was a bit disappointed in was that we never got a real conclusion to Jung-Yeon being an alien or really anything with aliens other than in the final moment of the show which makes me wonder if there's a possible season 2 in the works. I'd give this show a 9.5 / 10 for sure! Definitely check it out if you can!
FINISHED Come And Hug Me (32/32): A man and a woman suffers from wounded hearts due to a murder case that took place in their past. The man is a detective and the woman is a popular actress. When Do-Jin and Jae-Yi were high school students, they were each other's first love. Do-Jin's father Hee-Jae was a psychopath and killed Jae-Yi's parents. Do-Jin and Jae-Yi were separated afterwards. Now Do-Jin works as a detective. He treats the victim's family with care. This is his way of atoning for his father's horrific act. Meanwhile, Jae-Yi works as an actress. She followed in the footsteps of her late mother who was a famous actress. Since her parents' deaths, Jae-Yi has suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. Do-Jin and Jae-Yi meet again.

I want to say that I really enjoyed this show but I just can't. Something about it just didn't work for me. When the show started it was really interesting and I was looking forward to what the show would bring but as it went on, it began to drag and it felt like nothing would happen for weeks. I'm not sure if releasing Hee-Jae earlier would have helped at all but maybe it would have. I guess part of my problem is that though I love the idea of Jae-Yi and Do-Jin still being in love and saying who cares what the world thinks cause we're in love and deserve to be happy, I just felt like their interactions weren't enough. Like Do-Jin barely speaks around her and she spends most of it acting cutesy to make him feel better and hide her pain. At the start of the first episode this week I actually did wonder if the show would end with them breaking up cause no matter how many times Jae-Yi says that she doesn't blame Do-Jin, her actions make me feel the opposite. Idk it's just a feeling. I was surprised with how much I started to like Hyun-Moon though cause he started out an asshole and by the end I wasn't in love with him but I did start feeling some affection. I still don't entirely understand why Hee-Jae isn't on death row or locked up forever cause if there's any criminal that deserves that punishment it's him. Like I still don't know why he was allowed to be out and about in the world or even be able to sue someone. I did like the ending though and how despite everything Hee-Jae tried, Do-Jin was just not him. I liked that the reporter lady was a good person like I felt she was and the article she wrote sounded really sweet. I'm even glad the detective who didn't like Do-Jin got over it though it felt out of nowhere (both his turns.) Overall I'd give this show a 7.5 / 10.
FINISHED Handsome Guy and Jung Eum/The Undateables (32/32): Hoon-Nam knows about love theoretically, but he rejects falling in love. Jung-Eum wants to fall in love, but, due to her difficult situation, she gives up on finding love. Hoon-Nam and Jung-Eum meet and develop a relationship romantically.

We seem to have ended this show on a pretty high note though it did feel a bit rushed. I'm pretty sure that's cause somehow in the middle we lost our way and went down a weird detour so by the time we got back, it felt a bit rushed. Anyway I really enjoyed that the last undateable that we hooked up had such an adorable relationship and I loved that it was all about accepting the other person exactly the way he/she is. She thought his crazy outfits were hot and he didn't mind that she was taller than him. I also really liked that we found out again what a good guy Hoon-Nam is. Not only did he find her phone and return it but he was also the reason that her asshole ex sent a nice breakup text. It seemed a bit silly for Jung-Eum to be pissed at him for lying about being at the airport but like when's a good time to bring that up anyway? Hey I'm Hoon-Nam and also I saw you during your awful breakup. Honestly I was surprised that she wasn't more touched that he saw all that and yet he still likes her! Also adorable was Coach and Yook Ryong who I definitely warmed to as the season went on. He started out as such an asshole but after their breakup watching him mope around and miss her and wear that scarf no matter how uncomfortable he was melted my heart and I was glad they ended up back together. This show had it's ups and it's down but I think overall I did enjoy watching it so I'd give it a 7.5 / 10.
FINISHED Investigation Couple/Partners For Justice (32/32): Baek Beom has worked as a forensic doctor for 10 years. He has a bad personality, but he is excellent with his work. Baek Beom does not open his mind to other people. Eun Sol is a rookie prosecutor with a warm heart. She has a bright personality and she comes from wealth family background. The forensic doctor and prosecutor work together to solve case.

So this show ended without an end and that's interesting cause I guess that means this show will have another season? I'm not sure it needed on to be honest and I'm not sure this is the show out of all the ones that I've watched that should have gotten a sequel. The serial murder case ended this week and like I expected it wasn't whoever the new prosecutor thought it would be. He was way too "one-track mind" for me to believe that he read the case right especially since we know the NFS basically knows everything and when you disagree with them, you're going to be the one to look wrong. It was a fun twist that the detective in charge was actually the killer and that they caught him cause of modern tech. It's crazy watching these kinds of police shows cause you never do think about how much harder it is to do a crime and get away with it in the current age of security cameras and internet. It's even harder in Korea cause they have dashboard cams and everything. The last case was the first guy that Eun Sol investigated and I hardcore didn't recognize him until someone in the comments mentioned who he was. I liked how quickly they were able to find that he killed the girl and I'm so very sure that he's not dead and just faked his death. Overall I thought this show was fun if you ignore some of the outlandish moments and the fact that the NFS was more competent at solving murders than basically any of the detectives or prosecutors. Speaking of prosecutors, I did eventually grow to like the new prosecutor this week so I'm disappointed that we only got a little from him. I wasn't really into the romance between Stella and the detective so I was kind of meh about that but I was thrilled that Eun Sol and Baek Beom didn't end up together. Overall I'd give this show a 7.5 / 10.
FINISHED Mad Dog (16/16): The drama portrays the reality of Korea through diverse insurance crimes that are prevalent in the country. There are the 'copy cats' that imitate and improve the existing crimes, and the 'mad dogs' who catch these bad cats.

I started this show with pretty much no expectations except for the fact that Woo Do Hwan and Ryu Hwa Young were in it. After watching so many romantic comedies that I felt meh about I wanted something different and so I went into this show with no idea what it would be about and sometimes that's the best way to get into a show cause I freaking adored every single moment!!!! To my pleasant surprise this turned out to be kind of a con man show in that the characters played different roles to get the job done and you know how much I love those kinds of shows! I loved that the whole plot was about one plane crash and not a bunch of cases like I first thought when the first two episodes aired cause it made it was personal for our cast (see what an end goal can do for a show?) Woo Do Hwan played a perfect mischievous con man and I was living whenever he played our crew or said/did something to fluster them but the best part was his chemistry with Ryu Hwa Young and their extremely flirty relationship. Though Min Joon and Ha Ri didn't actually kiss on screen, some of their moments were even hotter and based on how the show ended I feel as though they're probs together. What really sold me on the show was the relationships between the Mad Dog crew. They were extremely loyal to each other and I loved that over the season Min Joon was adopted into their little family. Watching the others secretly ship Min Joon and Ha Ri was hilarious in it's own right. The villains in this show were amazing too cause they were so cunning and even straight up evil in some cases. I was a little sketchy on why the Insurance company was so involved in the whole thing cause like they didn't get anything out of lying about the faulty plane and in fact they lost a hell of a lot of money for it. Despite that I really enjoyed this show and I'd give it a 10 / 10!
FINISHED Miss Hammurabi (16/16): Park Cha Oh-Reum works as a rookie judge. She is in her mid-20's and follows "an eye for an eye" principle. She does not accept prejudice or blindly follow authority. Dealing with cases, she and her colleagues, including Im Ba-Reun, grow as people.

What a great ending for a great show! I loved that we were able to end on a positive and hopeful note and with the possibility of change on the horizon. Older judges were able to see that maybe their way of thinking has become a bit outdated and that it is maybe time for them to step aside and allow the younger judges to lead the way. I always dislike when people claim someone is being disrespectful or rebellious whenever they disagree with each other so I was glad that the show was able to show that is not the case in most instances. I loved that the annoying judge was disciplined cause he was just straight up a monster. Throwing fits and trying to get revenge let alone abusing his coworkers is not a way for a judge to act. It drives me crazy when people in power use that power just to make others feel bad. A person is in a leadership position to guide those under them not use them whenever they feel like. I was a bit disappointed that we didn't actually get a disciplinary hearing for Oh-Reum cause I thought that might be fun but I did like the jury case we got and even though the verdict seemed clear as day to me (I mean seriously he was beating her half to death so of course it was self defense) I was glad that the juror that we all assumed was a terrible guy actually led the charge on her innocence proving once again what this show portrayed that not everything is black and white. I am a little sad that Judge Han resigned because I loved our team but it makes sense why he did. It was also a little weird that we never discussed Oh-Reum and Ba-Reun's romantic relationship again after their kiss last week. Despite that, overall I really enjoyed this show and the message it tried to showcase though I did have my struggles with it here and there. I'd give this show a 8 / 10! Definitely check it out!
FINISHED Strongest Deliveryman (16/16): Choi Kang Soo is a deliveryman. In spite of his humble beginnings, Choi Kang Soo is fearless and gives it all in everything he does. Lee Dan Ah is another delivery worker. She hates her current socioeconomic status so much that she, like many young people, calls her country “Hell Joseon.” Lee Dan Ah is so focused on making money and changing her life that she has no time for men. But when she comes across the charming Choi Kang Soo, her attitude is due to be moved.Together, Choi Kang Soo and Lee Dan Ah have a budding competition and romance in their quest for glory. And, for them, glory means being like rich folk Lee Jin Yoon and Oh Jin Gyu. They compete to conquer life but, as our two delivery workers soon learn, being the strongest does not guarantee success.

I heard that the showrunners for this show were the same as the showrunners for Your House Helper and I can totally see it throughout. I decided to check this show out because I've been enjoying Your House Helper and I figured why not. Overall I think I definitely enjoyed this show but there were moments towards the end that felt a bit rushed as if the writers were like oh crap we need to wrap this up and fast. I did enjoy all the characters in this show especially the delivery men army that Kang Soo had and I enjoyed that there was an ultimate goal that our crew was trying to obtain while at the same time giving us plenty of episodes to just enjoy characters being themselves. Dan Ah and Kang Soo were adorable but I have to have Jin Yoon and Jin Gyu were definitely my favorite couple which is why when they basically disappeared off the show by the latter half I was disappointed. The ending seemed to wrap up a little too nicely but I can let that slide. I really enjoyed this world cause it's one that I've never really explored in a show or a movie let alone a drama so it was new and refreshing. I'm always down for more cooking shows so I was on board! I'd definitely give this show a 8 / 10!
What's Wrong With Secretary Kim (14/16): What's Wrong With Secretary Kim revolves around the narcissistic Lee Young Joon, the vice president of a company run by his family.

This week was an interesting one cause I wasn't the biggest fan of the first episode this week cause it felt like Young Joon really was bulldozing her and that Mi So only slept with him cause she was guilted into it between Young Joon and Se Ra. Like girl it's fine if you don't want to do something yet! I was also totally confused about why she wanted to hide their relationship cause she was supposed to quit anyway so there's no office problem and his parents love her and her sisters like him but when their relationship was revealed this week, I realized I totally forgot about how people are assholes and of course they would automatically start gossiping about how she slept her way to the top cause heaven forbid a woman is good at what she does. I'm not sure how I feel about Mi So no longer quitting cause though when the show started I was like but Mi So seems to be the best at her job and really enjoy it even if she complains sometimes, there were no real signs of her feeling this way until now and it makes me wonder if she's doing it just cause her job is comfortable and leaving it would be hard. Since next week is the finale for this show (and I'm really sad cause I'm definitely going to miss it) I feel like to be honest this probably won't be an issue cause the show needs to wrap up. I wonder if they actually will get married and if they do wouldn't it be weird to have his secretary be his wife? On another note Se Ra and Yang are still adorable as hell and I like that Ji Ah and her guy are slowly falling for each other though it feels kind of abrupt for Mr Go to be into her since we got hints that she was falling for him but nothing from him until now he's suddenly a little awkward around her. He did open up to her about his life earlier so maybe that was the sign that he was comfortable enough around her to tell her what he told no one else (and by following her around for so long.)
FINISHED Wok Of Love/Greasy Melo (38/38): Set at a small Chinese restaurant. Drama series follows Seo Poong's attempts at survival, food and love. Chef Seo Poong was once a star chef and worked at the best Chinese restaurant. His popularity faded and he eventually wound up working at a small, failing Chinese restaurant. Meanwhile, Doo Chil-Seong is the owner of a building. He is an ex-gang member and he was in jail for 5 years.

What an amazing final episode to go out on. In fact it was so good that I kept wavering back and forth about what I wanted to score this show cause I'm sure you know if you've been reading my reviews that this show when it's good is good but when it's bad it's real bad. I've never been a fan of rich people looking down on poor people and it's one of the reasons I'm not the biggest fan of rich man/poor woman stories cause damn it all money isn't everything. It was especially annoying in this show cause Sae-Woo's mom was especially whiny and shouldn't have been throwing Poong under the bus when he basically saved all of them from poverty and if her example of a good man was the one who left Sae-Woo at the alter just cause she lost her riches. But let's not talk about that anymore cause it gets me really annoyed. Let's focus on the positives like how adorable Sae-Woo and Poong were in this show and how amazing the cooking aspect was and how much I adored the humor. My favorite scene maybe all season was the one in Noodle Part's room when Sae-Woo and Poong were flirting on top of Cutting Part who was attempting to chaperone. Ugh Junho is so good at playing the romantic and flirty and honestly he was just so sexy whenever he was in the kitchen alone with Sae-Woo. I love that they flirt while cooking and that they both love it so much. And of course the kisses were amazing! I adored this show when we didn't have to focus on Sae-Woo's terrible family and I'm glad I watched it. Even though I wavered between whether I wanted to give this show a 8.5 or a 9, I ended up deciding to go with a 8.5 / 10.
Your House Helper (12/32): The daily life of an average working woman involves: a packed subway during the rush hours, a miserable old boss, juniors clawing their way up, mounting credit card debt, and a rusty and tired body...

This week was Ji-Woon's backstory time and I was actually pretty surprised that they revealed so much so soon cause I really thought he'd be more of a mystery until later while we got to know the girls right now. A couple of episodes ago the guy who owns the bar (does he have a name cause the wiki doesn't seem to say so) told a few women that Ji-Woon was dumped by some girl and all he wanted was an answer to why that was and we kind of saw that this week and at first I wasn't sure if that was the case or if the woman who left was his mom and that the story we heard was the bar guy's afterall but then Ji-Woon actually told Da-Yeong about his parents and when they died so I think he actually was ghosted by his girlfriend. I feel like he's probs moving forward cause he put the book away and everything so symbolism or whatever. I'm sure though in true drama style as soon as he and Da-Yeong get together, the ex will come back. Speaking of, I will never get tired of seeing how worried Ji-Woon gets about Da-Yeong and how he seems to only open up to her cause I'm totally about them. I feel like he sees something in her that he has too and that's why they connect. I loved the birthday party they had for Ji-Woon though the drunk kiss trope isn't my favorite cause next week we'll have to go through the whole he doesn't remember and she's super awkward around him. I'm also about Sang Ah and Jin Kook who are hilarious cause he's all flustered trying to impress her and she's all flustered cause she's trying to act rich and both of them are so confused. We also got a bit about So Mi and I'm pretty sure now that the brother she's so afraid of assaulted her somehow. I also  want to give props to this show for actually making Cheol Soo gay and not just hinting at it cause the only time kdramas talk about people being gay is if it's done as a joke and so it was refreshing that wasn't true here.

CDRAMA

Legend of Fu Yao (38/66): Meng Fu Yao, a woman born from a divine lotus petal. She journeys through the five continents towards the heavens in search of a secret order and to reveal a conspiracy originating from the heavens. In the process, she falls in love with the crown prince Zhangsun Wuji.

We're more than halfway through this show now and I'm still a little confused because we seem to be taking a lot of weird detours rather than following what I assumed to be the main plot of this show. Like we just now got through two kingdoms (Taiyuan and Tianquan) but while Fu Yao lifted the first part of her spell in Taiyuan, I don't think she spent enough time in Tianquan to have the time to lift the spell so unless she somehow is able to do it in Yao City, I'm confused cause I really thought that was the plot of this show. I super don't care about this war in the city and I don't see how it means anything other than filler. Fu Yao herself doesn't even think about the curse she's under and I just want the show to refocus on that. I'm also super glad that the whole lying thing is finally over cause I didn't mind it in Taiyuan cause Fu Yao knew that he was lying but in the Imperial City, I got uncomfortable with the lies cause not only was he lying about who he was but he was lying about being engaged which by the way was resolved really easily and I'm dying cause I thought it would have been a bigger deal. Honestly what's really keeping me in this show is the chemistry between Fu Yao and Wu Ji. I adore every moment they're on screen together and you can practically feel the love they have for each other. I'm also glad that Lan Zhu is back cause I missed her and I hope this means that Bei Ye will be back soon too.
Legend of Yun Xi (24/48): Han Yun Xi is the daughter of an imperial physician who lost her mother when young, but maintains a cheerful and optimistic disposition. Yun Xi is naturally talented in medical science and proficient in traditional medicine, but suffers from the jealousy and avoidance of others. By a stroke of fate, she marries the Duke of Qin, Long Fei Ye, and becomes embroiled in the changing politics of the imperial court. Yun Xi relies on her high-level medical skills, wise, far-sighted brain, and compassionate heart to expel the poisons of a great official, get rid of secret agents for the Duke of Qin, eliminate the plague for the common citizens, and cure the crown prince’s strange illness. Yun Xi’s kindness as a doctor not only earns her the appreciation of the masses, but helps the Duke of Qin overcome many nefarious plots, including the rebellion of the Chu siblings. After a series of unfortunate accidents, her medical skills grow even more unparalleled and she even gains the admiration and adoration of the Duke of Qin. Both of them take fame lightly in favor of digging into the medical field. In the end, they leave the clamor of court intrigue behind them and go in seclusion in the mountains, living a happy life free from worldly cares.

We're about halfway through this show now and I'm super not thrilled with the introduction of a second female lead cause I'm so tired of watching pretty smart girls demean themselves to get the attention of a guy that's not interested in them. I was so enjoying that there wasn't one in this show yet but now that we've got one it's irritating me especially since we're supposed to feel bad for her cause she's practically killing herself to help Fei Ye but just cause she's sacrificing something doesn't mean that she deserves his love. It's like the epitome of the friend zone thing guys say. Oh I was nice to you so you have to date me. Ugh. I was really enjoying Fei Ye and Yun Xi getting closer this week as well. I loved how worried he is whenever she's in pain and their kisses are amazing! His face when she told him she liked him was everything! I also really enjoyed that Fei Ye went to Yun Xi's home with her cause he put her family in their place but that pretty much went to shit a few episodes later cause he kicked her out of the home and really publicly too which was unfortunate. I still don't particularly understand the marriage customs in this world cause there was no wedding ceremony and now there was no divorce papers or anything. Literally do you just have to live in the house of a guy to be married to him? Again I don't like the noble sacrifice thing and I was so pissed that for episodes on episodes they tried to hide what was going on from Yun Xi which was irritating cause half the problems they went through could have been resolved if she knew the truth! I did like the reveal that Yun Xi's mom was the one to save Fei Ye and honestly I'm glad she found out the truth of her mom's death cause it was getting annoying how much the Dowager was playing her. Speaking of being played, Fei Ye's mother is an idiot too isn't she? On word from the second female lead and she's ready to murder Yun Xi even though if she even bothered to ask one other person she'd know the truth. Her smug face as Yun Xi left was so irritating. Also Qi Shao also needs to take a step back. Yun Xi is a married woman and even though he doesn't super care, he needs to respect boundaries especially since she hasn't shown any interest in him other than being a friend. It's also driving me crazy that no one's told Yun Xi that Qi Shao is not on their side. She keeps going to him as a friend and revealing things about Fei Ye that Qi Shao later uses against him and I can't stand it!!
Meteor Garden (12/48): An ordinary girl is admitted to the most prestigious school in the country where she encounters F4, an exclusive group comprised of the four wealthiest and handsomest boys in the school - Dao Ming Si, Hua Ze Lei, Xi Men and Mei Zuo.

So I wasn't sure I wanted to check out this show at first cause I had already seen Hana Yori Dango (the Japanese version of this show) and I'm usually not a huge fan of remakes cause there's so many new shows out there that I haven't watched so why watch the same one again? But then I saw it pop up on Netflix as being subbed weekly and I got curious enough to check it out and I'm really enjoying it so far. I'm only at the very beginning of this show but I think that this might be a better version than the Japanese version for one simple reason: it's more realistic. A struggle I had with Hana Yori Dango was how completely outlandish most of the stuff happening was. By aging up the characters to college age, not only is fresh cause there aren't enough dramas set in that time period but it allows a lot of the characters act a lot more mature. The bullying is more realistic as is the awkward relationship between Shan Cai and Si. Speaking of, Si is great here too cause he's just a bit dim and a tiny bit socially awkward instead of being an asshole like before. I'm also loving that there's 48 episodes instead of 10 cause then the romance can be played out slower and major events take longer to play out. Also sidebar but Wang He Di is honestly such a cutie and I was surprised that the show actually cast a 19 year old to play a college student when normally shows cast like 27 year olds to play high school students (I love you School 2017 but I'm looking at you for this.) The one thing I'm not the biggest fan of is how the Shan Cai and Lei relationship is playing out. I don't really like that Lei broke bro code and literally kissed the girl Si was into. I know that Shan Cai says she doesn't like Si and just cause Si likes her doesn't mean that she should like him but it would be one thing if Lei liked her too but he's actually just using her to get over Jing and get back at Si for breaking his toy when they were young. It's honestly rude as shit of Lei to do what he did and I hate that everyone was acting like Si was the bad friend. Anyway, if you loved Hana Yori Dango or if you thought the concept was fun but the older versions were too animated, this show might be for you!!
DROPPED Sweet Dreams (26/45): Ling Ling Qi is a sincere, kind girl who's always happy to lend a hand to others, but she also has low self-esteem, which has severely impacted her life, making her unable to do her best at work and fulfill her dreams. She's also afraid to express her feelings for her colleague that she's been harboring a crush on, Bo Hai. One day, Ling Ling Qi and Bo Hai take part ina company's high tech experimental bracelet test to improve sleeping patterns. During the test, the bracelet malfunctions, leading Ling Ling Qi's electro brain waves to be keyed into Bo Hai's dream sequence, which allowed Ling Ling Qi to enter Bo Hai's dreams. Drama focuses on how the two characters help each other fix their own personal problems within their dreams and real lives.

I think I've decided what my problem with this show is and that is the fact that this show has no overall plot to follow. I feel like this show has no idea what it wants to do with itself or what it's goal is. The plot seems to jump around to random moments and characters make weird decisions for no reason. Maybe I'm supposed to enjoy this slice of life drama but I've never been a huge fan of shows where there is no progression from a to b. I suppose that the main progression is supposed to be Qi Qi and Bo Hai falling in love but when there's literally no goal in sight that we're attempting to get to, it's a struggle for me to connect to a show. Qi Qi confessed to Bo Hai this week and for episodes he was really happy about it and super into her too but he refused to talk about it or let her know that he felt the same way. Instead he gets all grrr possessive and jealous of the guys around her. Like dude how old are you? This is acceptable behavior for a high school student not a grown ass adult. There's literally nothing stopping you from being in a relationship with Qi Qi but you're going to pretend like there is anyway? Unfortunately no amount of adoring Deng Lun can save this show for me and I'm going to have to drop it cause otherwise I'm just watching this show in fast forward mode and that's no fun.

TWDRAMA

FINISHED Single Ladies Senior (15/15): Four best friends from college are finding success as modern career women. Wang Mi Na, Yin Ge Li, Weng Mei Yan and Bai Ya Xuan are considered princesses in a tower because of their focus on their work and careers. But as they each face their own challenges of career vs. relationship, must they make a choice or can they have both?

So yeah this show happened. I'm really annoyed at myself for watching it until the end and not dropping it cause there was never really a moment where I was super into this show. There were bits here and there that I enjoyed but as an overall show, I was disappointed in it and I do no think I'd rewatch this show if I had the chance. A large part of this is due to the fact that I never liked He Fan and I should have known from the first episode that this show wouldn't be for me cause a show like this where romance is a major component won't work if you don't like the main couple. I am glad in a way that Mi Na didn't pick He Fan but at the same time the show gave off a vibe that though they're not together now they will in the future and I'm just not a fan of that. I still think she should have picked Shao Qi. On the other hand I was thrilled that the four friends were friends again and that Ge Li is able to get her happy ending. She deserves real love and though I don't think I could have done what she did in trying to force a guy to be mine, she still suffered for so long. I think it's a bit of a copout that Tian Yu didn't actually cheat on Bai but I was glad that they ended up together again cause like I said there's something so sweet about them. Overall I'd give this show a 5 / 10. Honestly skip this show unless you really enjoy the main couple.

xoxo Allie

What Dramas Am I Watching This Week?

Here's what I'm watching this week! Of course the list is split by country and episodes I've seen so far are written below! There will be spoilers from now on so if you aren't caught to the episode number I list, you might want to go watch that episode and then come back! If you're interested in previous lists, click here and if you want to see a list of my favorite asian OTPs and ships, click here!

KDRAMA

FINISHED About Time (16/16): Choi Michaela is a musical actress. She has a special ability to see the lifespan clocks of other people. She meets a man who can stop her time and he falls in love with her.

Well the best part of this finale is that this show is finally over. Jeez I cannot believe I sat through so many episodes of a show I didn't like! I should have known that this was not my cup of tea from basically the first two episodes cause nothing really caught my attention. Like I've said before part of my problem was that I just didn't see any chemistry between our main leads. Straight up Mi-Ka had chemistry with pretty much every other guy she spoke to besides Do-Ha. My other problem with this show was the concept which should have been really fun but ended up just dragging the plot towards an ending that made no sense. Like how did he give her all his time and then they were both perfectly fine? I liked the idea of her losing her ability to see clocks but I feel like this show might have had more impact if one of the the two ended up dying in the end which is rare of me to want but honestly if they had I would have been like cool moving on. We still didn't get to see the musical which again ugh why even bother placing it with a musical actress if you weren't going to play with that. Su-Bong magically decided to move on and stop making a mess, the Chinese investor changed his mind and suddenly Do-Ha's dad was no longer a dick. A lot of things just magically resolved with no build up and I think that just shows a flaw in the writing. Honestly if you've not watched this show yet, don't bother. I'd give it a 6 / 10.
Are You Human Too? (20/36): The drama tells of an android called Nam Shin III who must pretend to be the son of a rich family when the real Nam Shin falls into a coma.

Guess who's about to wake up and shake everything up next week?? Human Nam Shin! I'm so excited cause we've basically got nothing from him all season since he's been in a coma and I want to know his character. I know a lot of people don't like him cause he's not as sweet at Nam Shin III but seriously growing up in that horrible family wouldn't let anyone keep their sweetness intact. 20 episodes in and I can't find a single person in this show other than So Bong and maybe Ji sometimes who is good. I did hear that the writers of this show wanted to look at humanity and what makes a person human and if that is true, this show is definitely doing that. I still think it would be kind of cool if Nam Shin and Nam Shin III were connected somehow cause technically Nam Shin has been connected to a machine so Nam Shin III could have been sending memories or something to him while he was in a coma. It would be my favorite way to end the show if the reason Nam Shin III was exhibiting so many human characteristics is if somehow Nam Shin was doing it by mistake. Cause let's be honest I need So Bong and some version of Shin to be together cause they are so precious. I'm even more confused about how this show is going to end cause we found out this week that the grandfather not only knows about Nam Shin III but he was Nam Shin III's sponsor and if that's true he's clearly got some nefarious scheme going on in the background and now that he knows, there's no way Nam Shin III can have any semblance of a happy ending. Once I set aside my discomfort of a human/robot romance, this show is incredibly well written, produced and acted. It may be one of my favorites currently airing.
Circle: Two Connected Worlds (6/12): Taking place in both the present year 2017 and in the year 2037, when people believe that their future depends on humans controlling and regulating their emotions, this drama is a sci-fi mystery. When alien visitors arrive on Earth, humans learn new skills from them and take advantage of them; what ensues is a story of alliance, resistance, and love.

I kept hearing that this show was really good so I decided to check it out not only because of that but also because my girl Gong Seung Yeon was in it and after getting halfway through the show, I'm really enjoying it! It's strange cause I expected this show to be more about like an alien invasion or something based on the synopsis when in fact this show really doesn't have anything to do with aliens at all other than having one in it so far. I love pretty much everything about this show from the way it's set up with half of it in the past and half in the future to the characters to the acting to the cinematography to the plot. I love that the villains of this show are humans not the alien who actually despite what one of the main characters thought was a victim just as much as them. The two time period set up is fun but it's so hard cause when I finish one section I don't want to jump to a different time period but as soon as that one starts I don't want that to stop either. The mystery in the show is so well written and I love how Smart Earth is basically Prettyville from the Uglies trilogy in the way that memories are suppressed and everyone's happy all the time cause they don't know what's being done to them through chips. I can't wait to see what happens and how this show will end! The nice thing with having such a short episode count is that nothing drags and the pace of the show moves at breakneck speed!
Come And Hug Me (28/32): A man and a woman suffers from wounded hearts due to a murder case that took place in their past.

Nooo not Mr Cop!!! Ugh I knew his days were numbered since he saw Do-Jin be all happy with him especially since it wouldn't have made sense for Hee-Jae not to do any murdering since he got out and of all the characters the cop was a major side character (aka one that's important enough for us to care about but also not important enough that he couldn't be killed.) Honestly Hee-Jae is just damn lucky to run into all the crazies who somehow look up to him! I'm also glad that Jae-Yi and Do-Jin didn't fall apart because of his escape but something about them makes me so uncomfortable. I feel like sometimes you can feel the chemistry between them and their love and other times it just feels like guilt is keeping them together. I do like the new reporter cause I feel like she has a soul and might actually be able to be the one reporter in a drama that isn't a huge asshole! She seems to really want to tell the real story and actually is horrified when she realizes that these people that she's been reading/writing about are real people. It's hard sometimes with celebrities or famous people to remember that they're not just characters on a screen and that sometimes you forget that they can be hurt too. I loved the scene where Hyun-Moo protected his mom from Hee-Jae and that he's finally feeling like a part of the family cause they've always seen him as a member but he's struggled to see it too.
Handsome Guy and Jung Eum/The Undateables (28/32): Hoon-Nam knows about love theoretically, but he rejects falling in love. Jung-Eum wants to fall in love, but, due to her difficult situation, she gives up on finding love. Hoon-Nam and Jung-Eum meet and develop a relationship romantically.

The episodes this week were so much fun cause not only did we finally get back to the concept of the Undateables but we got a lot of great relationship moments where they told each other the truth and decided to work together. I was worried for a second that Hoon-Nam's dad being the player he was would break up our main couple again and though Hoon-Nam did put it off until it came out, he did tell Jung-Eum the truth when she asked and they decided that the best plan was to work together to solve the problem which I was relieved about cause no one needs another breakup in this show. I was a bit surprised though that learning who Hoon-Nam's mom was didn't change Jung-Eum's dad's mind right away especially cause it literally took her dad another day to love him too. I especially loved that there was no drama with Hoon-Nam's stepmom cause all she wants is for Hoon-Nam to be happy. Also I finally seemed to have gotten an answer to my question from before. Hoon-Nam is only really considered a player cause he's attractive and women are constantly throwing themselves at him even though he's never dated before Jung-Eum. It's ironic though because more than Hoon-Nam, guys seem to be throwing themselves at Jung-Eum and he's gotta be the one to be consistently jealous. I really didn't think we'd see her ex again and more weirdly that he remembered who Hoon-Nam was. I'm assuming that he told the ex off after she left otherwise it makes no sense for him to have remembered a random dude at the airport who watched as he broke up with his girlfriend. My favorite part of the episode though has to be the entire thing with the men in Hoon-Nam's family getting drunk and his stepmom watching them make fools out of themselves. It was amazing and I could not stop laughing for five minute straight.
Investigation Couple/Partners For Justice (28/32): Baek Beom has worked as a forensic doctor for 10 years. He has a bad personality, but he is excellent with his work. Baek Beom does not open his mind to other people. Eun Sol is a rookie prosecutor with a warm heart. She has a bright personality and she comes from wealth family background. The forensic doctor and prosecutor work together to solve case.

The case from last week wrapped up and it was even sadder than I expected! I will never understand how people can treat their family the way they do especially when that family loves you so much! It was heartbreaking that even though he had dementia, he still remembered having to run out with an umbrella to take care of his children who straight up could not give two shits about him in the end even though his last thoughts were with them. I still don't particularly understand why the family was acting so weird cause the first funeral home they went to said that the cause of death was a heart attack and that's what they needed to get the insurance payout so why run somewhere else? Either way I was glad that they didn't get any money in the end cause they super didn't deserve it. The second case seems really interesting so far as well and it's nice to see how much Sol has evolved. She's still a little ditzy but now when she stays quiet it's clear that she's thinking and I cheered when she put that new prosecutor in his place about not being objective enough. I don't know how I feel about the new prosecutor yet tbh cause I think his heart is in the right place but he seems to want to bulldoze everyone and that's kind of annoying. I do miss the old prosecutor a bit so I'm glad we got to see him again this week and we learned some new info about Beom's girlfriend. I can't believe that his father was such an asshole! He pretty much started the whole mess by forcing the poor girl to break up with his son and then he even lied to everyone to remove literally any hope they could have. Kang Hyun's brother probably wouldn't have killed himself if he knew she was alive even if it was a vegetative state. I want the show to end with her waking up and being happy with Beom again. It would be nice if Kang and Sol were together too but I doubt that'll happen.
Miss Hammurabi (15/16): Park Cha Oh-Reum works as a rookie judge. She is in her mid-20's and follows "an eye for an eye" principle. She does not accept prejudice or blindly follow authority. Dealing with cases, she and her colleagues, including Im Ba-Reun, grow as people.

We had a pretty solid week for this show although the first episode made me really sad and though the second one did as well, it had more of a hopeful/uplifting tone to it. Poor Ba-Reun was all over the place this week cause he was feeling so much pain over the public attacking Oh-Reum. First of all it's ridiculous that they're calling misandry on the rape case when clearly the only reason the public chose Oh-Reum over Judge Han or Ba-Reun is cause she's a woman. Do they think the guys are just props? Like why all the hate towards her and her alone? Of course it didn't help that the asshole judge who worked his staff into a miscarriage turned the sentence in the appeal but it was clear that he was doing it for personal gain which makes my blood boil every time he threatened the chief presiding judge. Like even if you're a head judge now, stay in your lane and stop telling other departments how to do their jobs. When Judge Han lost it on him, I was cheering. It did warm my heart when that other mean judge was like I might hate Oh-Reum half the time but she's part of my family and I can't watch when other's bully her. I'm sure it'll work out fine but it is hard to watch characters you love get bullied. On another note Ba-Reun and Oh-Reum kissed this week and it was precious although they never talked about it again and that threw me a little. We've only got one more episode next week and it's the finale. I'm interested to see how this show wraps up. I feel like this show like Suits would benefit from another season!
FINISHED The Liar And His Lover (16/16): A love story about a depressed genius music composer Kang Han Gyeol who meets the high school student Yoon So Rim when he’s living under a hidden identity. With her courageous honesty and beautiful singing, So Rim draws Han Gyeol back to her again and again. They meet love obstacles along the way as So Rim found out that Han Gyeol was actually Crude Play's producer K and others.

This is actually my second attempt at watching this show and the only reason I stopped watching this show back then is cause this was one of the first kdramas I checked out and I was still looking for cute romantic comedies more than anything deeper so when this drama started to get deeper and sadder I decided to drop it. I decided to go back and check it out cause I was in the mood for something with music and I love Joy's singing voice so I hopped aboard. Now that I'm older and have more experience with kdramas I was able to appreciate this show a lot more. Of course it's not without it's flaws but I was able to overlook most of them. This was Joy's first acting role so she's not the strongest but I adore her so it was fine. So Rim and Han Gyeol have plenty of chemistry and I loved watching them fall in love but what really kept me around this show was the music and the Crude Play bromance. Something about Joy's voice is just stunning to me and all the other music was so much fun as well. I loved every character in this show and that the plot went so deep and emotional. I mean we talked about depression and suicide and lying and dark side of show business which is not seen too often on tv. I loved that the show ended on a hopeful note with both Mush and Co and Crude Play starting over from scratch after leaving the label and telling the truth about their substitute musicians respectively. I was a bit torn at the end though because even if I really did feel bad for Chan Yeong and I wanted him to be happy in the end, I kind of wanted Han Gyeol back in the band more. I felt like the whole show was leading us to getting Han Gyeol to accept his insecurity with not always being the best and Chan Yeong could have gotten his happy ending as producer of Mush and Co or even as a bassist for them cause they didn't have one but I can see where Han Gyeol becoming like his father could be a full-circle moment as well. Overall I give this show a 9 / 10!
What's Wrong With Secretary Kim (12/16): What's Wrong With Secretary Kim revolves around the narcissistic Lee Young Joon, the vice president of a company run by his family.

The episodes that aired this week were really amazing cause a lot of them covered flashbacks and we finally finally got to see not only what happened with Mi So but why Sung Yeon took Young Joon's memories. The kidnapping stuff was horrifying of course and props to little Young Joon being so brave and patient with Mi So who really didn't know what was happening. By focusing all his attention to making sure Mi So was okay Young Joon was able to keep himself sane as well especially since he was there for three days compared to Mi So's one night (which is why neither of her sisters knew that she was kidnapped.) Now for the stuff with Sung Yeon. Honestly all the props to Young Joon both young and current day. I would not be able to forgive Sung Yeon and the parents for putting me through years of trauma that I had to deal with alone and silently just to make my delusional brother feel better. And jeez was young Sung Yeon still a terrible person. Young Joon didn't blame his brother for leaving him but Sung Yeon literally attacked Young Joon over and over for it. I still think the parents must have been really negligent to ignore all the trauma signs that Young Joon was showing and they really should have taken Sung Yeon to a clinic or something cause it wasn't right of them to go about it the way they did. It was heartbreaking watching Young Joon and Sung Yeon's confrontation cause even then I kept waiting for Sung Yeon to apologize but he still shifted the blame to Young Joon. Like damn he was a 9 year old kid who thought he was doing the right thing. My blood boiled watching Young Joon have to apologize. On another note I loved Mi So and Young Joon's relationship this week and how much time and thought Young Joon put into making sure that Mi So was alright now that she remembered. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop but luckily it didn't. It was also interesting to see Young Joon and Mi So throughout the nine years they were together and how he tried to help her out the whole time and be nice but in his asshole way that really could have been read as being mean rather than helpful which kills me out of laughter.
Wok Of Love/Greasy Melo (34/38): Set at a small Chinese restaurant.

I still do love this show but the parts that I dislike are slowly attempting to take over the parts that I do like and it's lowering my enjoyment of this show. I was furious last week with how Sae-Woo's mom and family were treating Poong and I'm still furious this week but while last week my anger was boiling over, this week it's mostly just simmering under the surface cause I've decided that the show doesn't care how ridiculous the words coming out of Sae-Woo's family's mouths are so why should I. Next week is the finale and I'm sure things will wrap up nicely enough on that part. That's not to say that I enjoyed any part of Sae-Woo's mom coming to Poong and being like you're not rich enough to be my son-in-law or even that she and Sae-Woo's dad (who I had hoped would have been better and be able to change Sae-Woo's mom's mind but nope) refused to allow Cutting Part and Noodle Part to leave them as if they owned them. Like I know you spent so much of your life with these two but at some point you have to start living for yourself. I'm also not entirely sure why Sae-Woo wants to keep working cause it seems way to difficult for someone like her but I can see that she does love working in the kitchen. The only thing is that I feel like a smaller restaurant like Hungry Wok would be better for her. I'm also kind of sad that the Hungry Wok is being sold and I'm curious as to what's going to happen to Chil-Seong as well. Is he the CEO of Giant Hotel now? Will he live there? I did really enjoy the cooking competition but I do wish it had been longer and a bigger part of these four episodes instead of all the drama with Sae-Woo's family. Also as great as it is that Poong is now head chef at the hotel, he's no longer cooking hands on and I feel like that won't be great for him personally. Why do I feel like this show will end with everyone returning to Hungry Wok?
Your House Helper (8/32): The daily life of an average working woman involves: a packed subway during the rush hours, a miserable old boss, juniors clawing their way up, mounting credit card debt, and a rusty and tired body...

I really wasn't going to watch this drama when it popped up on my drama feed at first because it sounded like one of those jdramas where each week the main character is around a whole new cast and my preference is for a recurring cast cause that way you can actually get to know characters but then after the first four episodes aired last week, I heard that the cast isn't revolving which allowed me to take the leap and I'm glad I did. This show is just as weird as I thought it would be from the synopsis but in a fun way. I'm enjoying most of the characters so far though Sang Ah might be my favorite (and not just cause I loved Go Won Hee in Eulachacha Waikiki) of the crew though I can see myself loving Da Yeong as well. I'm assuming that Da Yeong and Ji Woon will be a couple later based on my knowledge of tv shows and I'm down for that. I'm definitely feeling the chemistry between them and I loved that he was so worried about her not only when she was sick but basically from the start of this show. I also feel like there's some backstory that we're not getting on Ji Woon and who he is so it'll be fun to explore that as well. It is a little uncomfortable to see how both Da Yeong and Sang Ah are using him for their own purposes cause he really wants no part of it and it's like girls you gotta have boundaries. I am glad though that we got an explanation as to why the trio stopped being friends so long ago and it was nice to see them bond again. I'm also seriously loving Sang Ah's budding relationship with that lawyer who is so into her and it's adorable!

CDRAMA

Legend of Fu Yao (30/66): Meng Fu Yao, a woman born from a divine lotus petal. She journeys through the five continents towards the heavens in search of a secret order and to reveal a conspiracy originating from the heavens. In the process, she falls in love with the crown prince Zhangsun Wuji.

So much drama! I'm actually a little glad that this fake prince arc is almost over even if I was really enjoying the whole Fu Yao and Wu Ji run everyone else in circles. I also think it's kind of hilarious how little Fu Yao actually cares about the real kingdom cause like she did everything she could to help Wu Ji even letting the real heir apparent get taken away. I watched this show right after watching Legend of Yun Xi and though I love both couples separately, there's just something about Wu Ji's beautifully expressive face that makes me smile cause unlike Fei Ye, Wu Ji's emotions play out all over his face and I adore it especially the loving way that he looks at Fu Yao. Even Yang Mi seems to express emotion towards him as well making me wonder if she was just poorly directed in The Negotiator or if her more subtle looks are better suited for period shows. I am a little worried about the whole Wu Ji is engaged thing but I supposed in this world where men can have as many concubines as they want, it might not be a big deal though for some reason I feel like Fu Yao wouldn't settle for anything less that being a wife. The looks on Fu Yao and Wu Ji's faces when they were fake getting married were so sweet cause they were really happy to be doing so. We're almost halfway through the show and I'm curious about where we'll head next. Fu Yao was told to search the five kingdoms but we've spent so long in one that I'm wondering if we'll speed through a couple more that aren't so important.
Legend of Yun Xi (14/48): Han Yun Xi is the daughter of an imperial physician who lost her mother when young, but maintains a cheerful and optimistic disposition.

Okay I might be in love with this show! There's just so much that I'm a fan of in it from the arranged marriage to a feisty and smart female lead to incredible chemistry between the main leads to an adorable male lead! Seriously I knew from almost the first episode that this show was made for me. I love when couples start out married and then have to learn to get to know each other over time cause it's so sweet to watch them slowly fall for each other and see each other's kindnesses all the while they're a team to the world and problems that come up are faced together. I'm always of the idea that even if you're fighting in private, there's no need to broadcast that to anyone outside your inner circle. I also love that Fei Ye figured out pretty early on that Yun Xi was "working" for the Empress Dowager and that he was able to realize that despite that she's actually on his side when it matters. I do adore when big problems like these are solved without going through the annoying oh I can't trust you anymore how dare you lie to me trope. Fei Ye was logical about his study of Yun Xi and because he didn't jump to conclusions like so many other shows, he was able to see her true colors. I'm loving watching her break down his walls and how utterly confused he is with how charming he finds her even if he's not yet willing to admit it. But I have to admit my favorite part of this show is Yun Xi and her poison abilities. It's such a new and interesting way to give her something to do and I'm loving watching her be badass and smart and calculating. It drives me crazy when in these shows the female lead thinks she's smart but is really naive and doesn't know up from down so thankfully that's not the case here! The case with the princess that I just watched this week was hilarious and I really hope that in the end of it Fei Ye's mother and Yun Xi will become closer cause they've got the same enemies and it's easier to fight them than each other. It was the best seeing Yun Xi run circles around the Empress Dowager and princess.
Love Is In The Air (10/24): Two years have passed since white collar worker Jiang Yi Yi and her first love Chu Tian Qi broke up. Even though Yi Yi pretends to not be affected anymore, she still can’t forget him. Then she meets the trainee guardian Fang Mu Ye from the Guardian Tribe, with whom she ends up living together. Mu Ye’s supernatural powers add a lot of fun to Yi Yi’s life, making her gradually forget Tian Qi and focus on her dream of becoming an inventor again. The two become a bickering couple, however, a crazy scientist, who’s looking for a study object, appears.

This show seemed to be right up my alley when I read it's synopsis and it's finally been subbed so I dropped everything to check it out when it popped up. So far I'm definitely loving this show! I live for fantasy romance and this one reminds me a bit of A Korean Odyssey (but obviously much lighter and with less substance in it) with the premise of a fantastical creature having to protect a human. The main leads are adorable together and apart and I love their characters. I love that Yi Yi is so insane and wild and not afraid to show her emotions and that Mu Ye is so kind even when he doesn't have to be and that he finds Yi Yi utterly disarming. They have pretty great chemistry too which is a huge plus. I struggle with a lot of cdramas cause I end up finding one of the other lead too wooden but that problem hasn't been one for me yet. I also love the cohabitation situation in this and that they're slowly falling in love with each other but for Mu Ye, Yi Yi's happiness is everything so even if was breaking his heart, he still tried to hook up Mu Ye and her ex. I was surprised that the ex popped up so quickly cause usually in dramas the ex doesn't come back until the main leads have fallen for each other. It's an interesting plot twist that the ex is around while the main leads are falling for each other and also that he is dating the lead's coworker. The one thing I'm confused about in this show is the fantasy part. We've never gotten an explanation about what these guardians do and why they have one person to make happy and what happens to both when the person they're guarding is finally happy? Does the guardian vanish? Do they level up to a full guardian and have other targets? Is it against the rules to fall in love with the person you're guarding? I also wonder if Yi Yi will ever find out that Mu Ye is her guardian or if it'll even matter enough to bring up cause the show seems to push it to the back burner except for a few scenes here and there.
Sweet Dreams (21/45): Ling Ling Qi is a sincere, kind girl who's always happy to lend a hand to others, but she also has low self-esteem, which has severely impacted her life, making her unable to do her best at work and fulfill her dreams.

Honestly this show is giving me whiplash guys! One minute it's good the next it's terrible and now it's returned to be good! For a chunk in the middle I was liking the show less and less and even debated dropping it cause 45 episodes was a lot to sit through if I wasn't a fan of pretty much anything. The biggest struggle was not only Bo Hai being a huge ass for so long (you know I don't like the cold types of male leads) but Qi Qi was acting like such a moron for so long and literally did a 180 from fawning over him to seeing flaws everywhere. The dream sequences still seem kind of unneeded to this show cause they really don't add anything that we can't have in the real world which disappoints me cause that was the part of the synopsis that I was really interested in. The second male lead even turned out to be a villain and just when I was loving him! All of these things added together did not make for me having a fun time. It wasn't until Qi Qi finally figured out the truth behind Bo Hai's color blindness that I finally started to enjoy the show again. Bo Hai finally chilled out with his cold man routine and now has ventured into the adorable says one thing but his face clearly says something different version of a cold male lead that I love. I finally saw Qi Qi and Bo Hai have some real chemistry and I love that even though Qi Qi is back to being in love with him, it's not like before. She's still able to have a personality and desires and does not revolve around Bo Hai which I like. Also I'm loving that Bo Hai is so confused as to why Qi Qi is suddenly cold around him. That's how you get a man girl. Be affectionate and then play it cool and your man will spend all his free time wondering what happened. I way back on board with this show and I hope it keeps me there!

TWDRAMA

Single Ladies Senior (14/15): Four best friends from college are finding success as modern career women. Wang Mi Na, Yin Ge Li, Weng Mei Yan and Bai Ya Xuan are considered princesses in a tower because of their focus on their work and careers. But as they each face their own challenges of career vs. relationship, must they make a choice or can they have both?

Ugh so it looks like Mi Na has officially picked Yi Fan which breaks my heart and Ge Li's heart and poor Shao Qi's heart. Ironically Mi Na doesn't seem all that thrilled either to be back with the guy she's been in love with for so long but I'm sure that's just nerves right now. It looks like Ge Li will be getting a new love interest but my poor baby probably won't. I hope he at least gets the company. I'd love if he was the new CEO (his dad's position) and Mi Na was the CFO (the person in charge day to day) cause at least that would be a semi happy ending. I'm just glad that this show will be ending next week cause I can't believe that I sat through so many episodes if I'm being honest. It was the show's fault I think for making me not only love Shao Qi but ship him with Mi Na while dangling hope in front of me. Now let's talk about poor Bai Bai and Tian Yu. I really did ship them together and I still kind of do even though he wasn't the best guy to her the whole time. Something about him broke my heart when he was sobbing for her to not leave him and that he's sorry. It's rough cause personally I don't think I could ever forgive a cheater cause once your significant other cheats, you'll always be worried that he might cheat again and the trust is lost. But this is a tv show and sometimes the rules aren't so strong and I want my girl to have a happy ending so I could look the other way if she decides to forgive him.
