Spring 2021 Anime Awards

Hey guys! The Spring 2021 Anime Season has officially come to a close this week and I have to say that this season absolutely killed with the content we got! So much was so good that I don't even know how I'm going to break it all down!

Anime Of The Season

Fruits Basket Season 3 is my pick for the anime of the season and like part of felt like this was cheating cause it's a sequel but after everything that I experienced with this show, I couldn't help but place it at the top anyway! Season 3 finally answered questions that I had for decades and it wrapped up the story in the most perfect way. Every single person in this show got the ending they deserved and though I do wish that we had the full 25 episode season that other seasons did, I still was content. I love that this is a story of abuse and learning to forgive whether that's someone who wronged you or your own self. The writer of this show did an absolutely incredible job telling real world stories through magic and curses without making you roll your eyes at the metaphors or thinking that it was too much. This show will forever go on my favorite anime of all time list!

Runner Up - 86 Eighty Six

Hidden Gem

The Saint's Magic Power Is Omnipotent is the hidden gem of the season and I picked it over any other show I watched this season cause I think literally no one watched this one other than me and I think that sucks. I mean yeah there were a ton of better anime this season and it's another isekai which I know a lot of people hate but something about this show was just so cute. I loved the world that it built and the main romance that formed between Sei and Hawke and it was enough to keep me coming back for more each and every week.

Runner Up - Koikimo

Best Sequel

Fruits Basket Season 3 is definitely the best sequel of this season and like there wasn't even any competition. Of course My Hero Academia was up there but while that show was sort of dawdling towards what I think will the better second half, Season 3 of Fruits Basket was no holds barred insanity. I loved the way it finally gave us the real story of the original banquet and the way we finally saw the curses break even if part of me still doesn't actually know what the trigger was. The ending was so bittersweet cause while I loved it I was also sad to leave our characters behind! Every single character went on this amazing arc in which they grew into their best selves and it was so lovely to think back to how they were when we first met them back in season 1!

Runner Up - My Hero Academia Season 5

Greatest Animation/Character Design

Vivy - Fluorite Eye's Song had the best animation this season hands down. I wasn't the biggest fan of this show in terms of story and the ending definitely bored me enough that I barely paid attention to it but I can't knock it for the fact that it was most beautifully animated show of this season. I loved the way we would have these super detailed close ups in order to highlight a point that a character was making or have us see that a character was touched or emotionally affected. The fights were beautifully depicted as well!

Runner Up - Pretty Boy Detective Club

Best OP

Pleasure by Warp's Up from Fruits Basket Season 3 is definitely my favorite OP of the season. It's the first Fruits Basket OP that's sung by a male band rather than a female artist and I wonder if it's cause our male characters all grew more confident in themselves. The JPOP sound fit so well with the thunder that started the OP and I loved the lyrics!

Runner Up -

Protagonist Of The Season

Vladilena "Lena" MilizĂ© from 86 Eighty Six is my protagonist of the season cause I am still stunned by the arc she went through in 86. Like I went back and forth so many times wondering if 86 should be my anime of the season but in the end Fruits Basket was just too perfect to not win so I thought that at least if Lena wins best protagonist I won't be too saddened! The interesting thing about Lena is that when I started this show I really expected her to be the typical spoiled naive female lead in most of these types of shows that claims to fight the power out of a sense of morality but never acts as anything more than a lovesick puppy or a damsel in distress. To my surprise Lena not only carried so much of this show but she might also have been the only one to leave it alive. I loved that we saw that she wasn't perfect at the start from the way she treated the 86 as different than dogs but then also accidentally didn't treat them as human either. She literally blackmailed her so-called best friend into doing something illegal and saving the 86 with bombs knowing that they needed her and that she wouldn't get more of a slap on the wrist for breaking the rules.

Runner Up - Tohru Honda from Fruits Basket

Antagonist(s) Of The Season

Akito Sohma from Fruits Basket Season 3 is my antagonist of the season and I'm glad that this category is antagonist and not villain cause at the end of the day Akito while being one of the best written characters in Fruits Basket was also another victim of the Sohma family and their curse. I never expected to end my watch of Fruits Basket feeling sorry for Akito or seeing her as anything more than the devil after watching her revel in hurting others both emotionally and physically but like Akito said herself she's atoning not being redeemed. I always hate the idea of redemption of villains cause it always makes it feel like they've got nothing to feel sorry or guilty about but by Akito atoning she is acknowledging that she did wrong before and that the others have the right to accept or push her away on their own.

Runner Up - The Republic of San Magnolia

Ship Of The Season

Kyo and Tohru from Fruits Basket Season 3 are my ship of the season and like really was there any other competition?? The best thing about Fruits Basket is how clearly it depicts relationships both platonic and romantic and how unlike in other shows how clear it is why characters feel the way they do about one another. Kyo was the only person in Tohru's life who she was open with and who helped her rather than having her help him and she provided him a sense of belonging and home. The episode where Kyo told her about Kyoko was heartbreaking but I loved that Tohru used it to prove that she could be selfish too and that her love for him was more important than anything else. I loved that he chased her down after the hospital and begged for one more chance promising that he would never need another one since he'd treat her so well. I loved that she didn't hesitate for a second to agree to leaving with him and I definitely think the two are going to live the most happily ever after.

Runner Up - Ichika and Ryou from Koikimo

And with that I'll see you all in the Summer 2021 Season!!

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 7

Truly I don't know where this season goes from here cause I really thought that there's no way that Sara was actually cloned and is half alien now but with more and more proof it looks like yeah Sara really isn't the same person she was before. This confuses me on so many degrees cause if we're going with the logic that you can transfer consciousness from body to body, are we supposed to assume that your soul moves with you too? I mean normally this is all theoretical and stuff but it's canon in the Arrowverse that humans have souls as seen with Sara when we had to go get her from Hell and Oliver when he was stuck in Purgatory. I guess that has to be the case cause the show wants us to believe that our Ava though a clone is a full human with a soul so by that logic so must Sara? Also I don't know if I believe that Bishop was blown up cause it's too early in the season to lose our Big Bad but I mean Kayla is still out there too so there's that? I do have to say that it was super sweet when Sara proposed to Ava and I liked all the back to the future antics as well as Zari calling John out again for not having magic cause she knows him and adores him anyway which is adorable.

Based on the promo for next week we're headed back to the Wild West which might mean another Jonah Hex cameo? It does look like Sara tells the others about everything that happened so at least we won't have to sit around wondering when the other shoe will drop!!

Fruits Basket Season 3 Episode 12

Talk about a series finale penultimate episode you guys! I cried and cried and cried cause goodbyes really are the saddest even if there's a hint of happiness in the future as well. It's just that I like to imagine all my characters happy and together when I leave them so I never like when shows end with the main cast separating. At least here everyone is a Sohma or Sohma-adjacent so no matter how far they go eventually they'll all come home. Last week Kureno and Uo decided to leave and this week it looks like Kyo and Tohru will as well. I loved that we finally saw what Kyoko actually meant when she told Kyo that she wouldn't forgive him after the accident. She was actually talking about the promise he made to her years ago about protecting Tohru and I imagine if she could see them now she would never be happier seeing the two so in love. I do think it's crazy that after all this time we still haven't seen Tohru's dad or heard that love story when I know it was so important in the manga but I guess we also haven't seen how Manabe knows Tohru either. Speaking of Yuki and Machi kissed this week and truly it was still so random cause of all the couples in this show they're the ones I least care about even if we've seen less of others! Akito also decided to take a step forward by revealing the fact that she's a woman to the zodiacs and formally letting them go but deciding against giving them an empty apology and instead sticking around the estate to make amends. She and Shigure are finally a couple as well and low key their toxicity makes me live a little.

The Flash Season 7 Episode 14

I was trying to keep an open mind about this episode cause sometimes these types of episodes surprise you but honestly this was just as strange as I expected it to be from the promo last week. I guess I would have preferred if we had known for a longer time that Allegra was keeping an eye out for her cousin cause then this would be the fruit of her labor rather than something that came up randomly. I did like Allegra's power up though even if I expected it the minute that doctor starting saying stuff about their powers coming from hate. Like it's never hate that powers things in these types of situations but love! Speaking of love, it really does look like the show will be pushing Allegra and Chester together and that weird look they exchanged a few episodes back didn't mean nothing like I first thought. The irony of this show is how badly it writes it's love stories compared to something like Legends where literally any and every pairing works for me. It was also funny that Iris was literally not in this episode at all and Barry was barely in it either. I really guess all this focus on the two of them "trying" is going to lead right up to Bart's appearance huh?

Godspeed is back in the promo for next week as is the criminal that Frost has been flirting with all season making me laugh at how they really are going to be a thing.

Superman & Lois Season 1 Episode 11

Wow this week was totally sweet and heartbreaking all at once. I really enjoyed the look back on Clark's life and honestly the cuteness that was Lois and Clark getting to know one another and working the beat in Metropolis was low key everything this show could have been. Like don't get me wrong I have been enjoying the family stuff but I kinda wish we saw more of Lois and Clark before they became a family unit. I guess the major reason this show didn't go that way is cause there's been plenty of iterations in which we see the two in the early stages of life but none with this budget and writing prowess! I also kinda love that the thing that turns Superman is when Morgan threatens his family though I don't entirely like the fact that the first thing Lois does is call John Henry Irons. I wonder what she's going to say about how she knows and why she thinks it is but I bet that the focus is going to be on subduing Edge more than Superman. Meanwhile I also really loved that Kyle finally spoke to Lois about the way he's been treating her and apologized and I wonder if this will be the first step to him becoming a new man worthy of Lana...

Okay so I know shit was going down in the promo for 3 weeks from now but all I want to scream about is the fact that John freaking Diggle was in the promo!!!! I'm so excited cause this is the first we've seen of not only him since Arrow ended but also the first we've seen this show crossover with the other Arrowverse shows which is ironic since Supergirl exists in this world too. Like shouldn't Lois dial up Kara and be like yo this dude turned your other cousin?

Loki Season 1 Episode 3

This episode was fascinating and super annoying too cause it didn't actually give us any more answers about Lady Loki or what she wants or why she's doing what she's doing. What I do know is that she clearly doesn't like to be called Loki which is weird if she is a Loki variant cause I can't imagine a Loki who doesn't love himself or herself! I know the popular theory around is that she's actually Enchantress and honestly I could see that too cause we just don't know anything about anything. What we did learn was that everyone at the TVA are variants who have somehow got their minds hijacked by the Time Keepers or the TVA higher ups into believing that they were created to work for the TVA. The question is that if that's true why haven't they done the same thing to our Loki cause then they could use all his smarts without the mistrusting him part. Aside from all that it was really nice just to bask in all of Loki's glory. I loved seeing him drunk and also acting silly in a way that reminds of the Loki from Thor Ragnarok given that he's more mischievous than truly evil but the best moment was when he was reminiscing about his mom and how she taught him magic cause of course Tom Hiddleston excels at the tragic scenes. I do hope the show dials back the himbo antics a bit though cause Loki is still supposed to be smart unless it wants me to believe that he continuously gets one over on Thor and all of the Asgardians cause they're even dumber than him.

My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 14

I still find it the cutest thing how much Hawks idolizes Endeavor cause it's not like he's a hero that everyone adores right off the bat! I was surprised at first to find out that Hawks was actually undercover with this so-called Liberation Army rather than with the League Of Villains but I wonder if it's actually that he's undercover in both. Like what if the League is using the Liberation Army in their evil plans so they sent Hawks there to test him? Or what if this is kinda a side-gig for him and the LoV knows that he's here on command from the Hero Commission but don't care as long as he helps them when they need to like with the Nobus. It does kinda suck that he sold out Blue Jeanist to League and I guess that explains why Katsuki was worried about him last week but also why there wasn't any news on him either. I did love that Endeavor picked up the clues that Hawks dropped so quickly and I like that they're seeding the next arc after this work study one already though I do wonder if this will be the end of all the Hawks stuff we see until that arc begins. Do we know how long this arc is going to be cause I will be heartbroken if the thing that everyone was gushing about being the thing that changes My Hero Academia and Deku forever is actually coming in season 6!

What Dramas Am I Watching This Week?

Before I get into my usual spiel about what I'm watching I want to start out by saying that I will no longer be doing these weekly posts about what dramas I'm watching and all that cause I honestly don't have the time anymore. Don't worry though cause I am going to finish up all the currently airing shows that I'm reviewing before I stop and from now on I'll post whenever I want to talk about something special like a review of a show I binged or my year end ranking. I hope you're not too disappointed!!

Now let's get into what I'm watching this week! Of course the list is split by country and the amount of episodes I've seen so far are written below! There will be spoilers from now on so if you aren't caught to the episode number on list, you might want to go watch that episode and then come back! If you're interested in previous reviews, click here and if you want to see a list of my Favorite Asian OTPs and Ships, click here!

KDRAMA

Doom At Your Service (14/16)
: Tak Dong Kyung has been working hard ever since her parents passed away. Her life seemed more stable after working as an web novel editor for 6 years, but then she gets diagnosed with a brain cancer. She blames her unlucky life and wishes to curse everything to disappear, which unintentionally calls Myeol Mang, a messenger between humans and gods, to appear. He says that he can grant her wishes. As her last hope, she makes a contract with Myeol Mang for a hundred days to live how she wants, risking her everything.

I spent this whole week thinking wow we really went from amnesia right into Dong Kyung's final moments not realizing until I sat down to write this review that it was the penultimate week so of course things were moving fast! I wasn't one of those people last week who hated the amnesia storyline cause honestly in my opinion it felt very much like a Dong Kyung last ditch move since it was the only thing she could possibly do to save Myeol Mang. I do have to say though that until it was literally spelled out to me this week I could not for the life of me figure out the deal between Dong Kyung and Myeol Mang and the wish which is definitely a fault of this show. It was as I first thought all those weeks back and then was convinced that I was wrong in that if Dong Kyung doesn't wish for the world to end then she would live but the person she loved most would die. Since that was Myeol Mang, he disappeared though I'm not actually all that worried cause I have a feeling that there will be some sort of loophole involved so he'll come back human. In terms of the love triangle it's constantly surprised me with how dumb the writing for it is. Like I will never ship Ji Na and Joo Ik just cause of how creepy it was that he as a grown man kissed a high school girl back in the day and truthfully I think everyone is a little harsh on Hyun Gu's cowardice cause duh he was a literal child as well back then but I don't exactly ship him with her either so I'm left just wondering when their scenes will be over.
Imitation (8/12)
: Lee Ma Ha is a member of the new K-pop girl group Tea Party, formed by Ji Hak, who was once the manager of the famous boy group Shax, but resigned after the sudden disappearance of member Eun Jo in the middle of a concert. Prior to joining Tea Party, Ma Ha was a member of the group Omega III, which disbanded on its debut day due to a tragic incident involving a former trainee at the group's company. This led Ma Ha to support herself by performing as an impersonator of the popular solo singer La Li Ma, gaining her public notoriety. Starting anew with Tea Party, Ma Ha finds herself repeatedly crossing paths with Kwon Ryok, the center and most popular member of Shax who is still haunted by Eun Jo's disappearance three years later. While Ryok initially dislikes Ma Ha due to her imitation of Li Ma, the two eventually begin to grow interested in one another and start a secret relationship that could put both of their careers in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Lee Yu Jin, Ma Ha's loyal friend who is the center of the rising boy group Sparkling, has been in love with Ma Ha since their idol trainee days. When he notices the budding relationship between Ma Ha and Ryok, he determines to protect her from Ryok and lead Sparkling to beat out Shax as the most popular boy group in the industry.

Hmm I'm not actually sure what I expected from Ryok and Ma Ha being caught but I'm not sure that a breakup was it. Maybe I was looking at this more of a romance than an idol drama so I expected Ryok to be like I don't care about the photos getting out but I guess maybe he's more worried that Ma Ha would get hurt again. The thing is that she has to know that they broke up to save her so she shouldn't blame him for what happened but I have a feeling she will inadvertently when she should know how hard it is for him too. The whole Tea Party contract scandal thing was also really petty of SHAX's CEO but I have a feeling that Ji Hak going to that reporter who's obsessed with Eun Jo is the first step in taking him down. Once she smells blood in the water it's over and I'll be interested to see it. I also liked that Li Ma isn't as bad as we first thought and actually she's kinda sweet in her own badass way which I adore cause she worried about Ma Ha after the contract thing and tried to comfort her. I like that she's not the typical second lead I expected her to be and I bet she'll also play a role in the future too.
FINISHED Mad For Each Other (13/13): About two people with their own painful stories who go through a complicated process of hurting and healing while falling in love with each other. No Hwi Oh is a detective in the violent crimes division of the Gangnam Police Station. He thinks that he is doing well until his life suddenly takes a turn and he becomes a “crazy” person who can’t hold in his anger about anything. Lee Min Kyung is a woman who is caught up in her own delusions and compulsions. She had lived an ordinary life as a pretty woman with a respectable job until “that incident” that caused everything in her life to break down. As a result, she was unable to trust anyone and is caught in a prison of her own making. Her delusions also have the unfortunate side effect of making everyone else around her angry.

The finale for this show aired this week and I'm honestly shocked at how it nailed the ending so perfectly! Like of course I would have preferred if Min Kyung didn't leave and come back but it didn't bother me as much as it would have cause she and Hwi Oh didn't part on bad terms and they both knew she was coming back in a little while after she found herself again. One of the best things about this show is how we saw Min Kyung grow into herself again through the course of these 13 episodes. She started out so paranoid and scared to show her real self to the world but after meeting Hwi Oh she started to heal to the point where she was even able to confront her ex! I was honestly so proud of her and I honestly live for how much Hwi Oh loves her too. He's cried more in this show than I think I've ever really seen a male lead cry and I adore the way he just shouts about how he loves her without caring who's around. The fact that they made out while he was cuffing a sex offender was so perfectly them and I couldn't stop laughing. It's truly been the hidden gem of not only this round of dramas but possibly this year cause no one watched this show or talked about it even though it might be one of the best dramas about mental health I've seen! I'd definitely give it a 9.5 / 10!
My Roommate Is A Gumiho (10/16)
: Shin Woo Yeo is a handsome and smart professor. He is also a 999-year-old nine-tailed fox. To become a human, he collects human energy in a bead. Soon, he is set to become a human. Meanwhile, Lee Dam is a university student. One day, her drunk friend falls asleep on top of an expensive car. She apologizes to Shin Woo Yeo, who is the car owner. While Lee Dam struggles to take her friend away, Shin Woo Yeo gives her a hand. An accident happens that changes their fate. Shin Woo Yeo's bead falls out of his mouth, and Lee Dam unintentionally swallows it. The bead can exist inside of a human for no more than 1 year and, afterwards, the bead will break inside of that person. This will cause Lee Dam to die, and Shin Woo Yeo will lose his chance to become a human. Shin Woo Yeo explains to Lee Dam their predicament and suggests that they should live together until they figure out a solution. Lee Dam, who has never had a boyfriend in her life, now lives with Shin Woo Yeo.

Ahhh the amount of times I screamed this week was insane! Dam and Woo Yeo finally started dating and I was so glad that they admitted not only the truth about the amnesia thing but also their feelings. I really adore the way Jang Ki Yong looks at his love interests like he could die if they weren't near and that's why my heart fluttered every time Woo Yeo looked at Dam like she was his world. Their kiss was amazing including after he lost it cause it just looked more passionate than crazed! It does suck a little that the two already have to be apart cause he's sucking out her energy but like I think this might be the first show I've watched where a supernatural creature that is meant to feed off of humans is actually hurting his love interest so that's unique! Also low key if I had that easy of a way to lose weight I would die happy! But seriously I also love the idea that the Spirit has decided to tie Dam and Sun Woo together by a red string of fate which is a story about soulmates that I've always adored even if I was totally screaming that's cheating! She clearly didn't care about him being drunk until the string tugged her back and that's not fair for her or Sun Woo himself! I'll be really curious to see if Woo Yeo tells her about it or not. On another note I am living for Hye Sun slowly falling for Jae Jin. He's such a sweet guy that his kind gestures which he doesn't even think about are melting her stone cold heart!
FINISHED So I Married An Anti-Fan (16/16): Hoo Joon is a top star while Geun Young is a magazine reporter. For a potential news article, Geun Young decides to attend an opening ceremony for a club. There, she witnesses top star Hoo Joon's violent behavior and she also vomits on him by accident. This leads to Geun Young losing her job. Believing that Hoo Joon was behind her firing, she decides to get him back by demonstrating in front of Hoo Joons management office. Slowly, she begins to receive media coverage on her demonstration and soon becomes famous as an anti-fan. A PD approaches Geun Young about participating in a reality TV show which revolves around the idea of a top star and their anti-fan living together. Being unemployed, she decides to accept the offer. Meanwhile, Hoo Joon is offered the same reality TV show and accepts to try to improve his image. Hoo Joon and Geun Young try to give each other a hard time on the reality show, but soon start to fall for one another.

Like Mad For Each Other, I'm really sad to say goodbye to this show as well. I mean we all know this wasn't a masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination nor was it breaking ceilings or doing anything new but the old school feel of it reminded me of why I fell in love with kdramas in the first place. They really are so unafraid to love love and give us the tropiest juiciest fanfic-y of shows and that's what I live for! Okay yeah the whole forced separation thing was weird as hell and yeah the final episode was like 10% flashbacks and yeah JJ and In Hyung's ending was real weird and didn't fit in with the rest of the show but on the whole the cuteness that was Geun Young and Hoo Joon saw me through it all. I liked that she was able to find a reporting gig and then turned to writing while she waited patiently for Hoo Joon to come back when most female leads would have broken up with their guys cause of the distance or whatever. I liked that Hoo Joon hit rock bottom and then came back with the help of those he helped before and that he reconciled with JJ and In Hyung and Mr Bae even if I don't exactly think they deserved it. Idk maybe if the show had focused a bit more of the trio's bond from the start then I could understand the way the show shifted to make it seem all about them when it was clear from the start this show was supposed to be a romance! All in all this was a cute drama that I had fun with so I'd give it a 8 / 10.

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 6

Of all the things I expected this show to do it wasn't to make the current Sara a clone of the old Sara!! I mean at this point why not given that Sara's died and come back to life enough times and the Laurel currently living in our Arrowverse is from another Earth?? I really hope this means that Sara can really dig into the horror that comes from realizing she's a clone and whether that means that she's still Sara but I worry that since this show is mostly a comedy that it'll just brush the whole thing off and pretend like it's no big deal. It's about time that the show gave Sara a meaty storyline outside of dating Ava cause all the other Legends get something! Speaking of the Legends I still really don't care for Spooner but I think it's probs very likely that she also houses some alien like Amelia which is interesting cause I totally thought that she would be a half alien. It's also interesting that John is still hiding his lack of magic from the team but it was pretty great that Zari picked up on his sketchiness even if he convinced her he was fine. It was also pretty hilarious watching the Legends destroy his house and naturally Mick slept with Gary's alien fiance. Gary meanwhile might be hooking up with Cooking Ava which will be hilarious but also creepy!

The promo for next week shows us that the Legends are going to be trying to stop Sara's kidnapping from ever happening which I'm sure will go well but it looks like it'll be focused on Behrad so at least there's that!

Fruits Basket Season 3 Episode 11

This episode was truly everything I could have wanted and more. There are still shivers running up and down my spine even as I write this review and I cannot imagine how people watch this show and think it's boring or not living up to the hype. I spent what feels like ages waiting for Tohru and Kyo to finally kiss on screen when they're both conscious and aware and yet that wasn't even the biggest thing that happened this week! I loved seeing Tohru freak out realizing that there was no world that she wanted to live in that wasn't by Kyo's side and that the moment Kyo apologized and begged for another chance she gave it without hesitation and I was honestly really glad that Kyo did acknowledge all that he did wrong though I also wish he had said that he lied when he said that she disappointed him cause that barb really did stick with poor Tohru. I loved that they kissed and that he wanted to hold her just for a second in order to savor the moment but I'm still kinda confused about what led to the curse breaking. Is it a lack of fear of the future? Is it a realization that they don't need or want the Sohma family or the curse? Did Kureno really think all this as a child back in the day? I really did like the look back at what the original zodiacs and God wanted and I do wonder like God at what point it went from something everyone (except for the cat) wanted to a burden.

The Flash Season 7 Episode 13

Oddly enough this was a pretty solid episode of The Flash which fascinated me cause you all know that I'm not really about this show anymore. Sue came back and it looks like it'll be on a semi-permanent basis which was good cause it sucked that just cause Ralph's actor was a horrible person, Sue's actress had to suffer as well. I still don't know why the show doesn't just recast Ralph but maybe they really did want to downsize on the amount of heroes on Team Flash given that Frost left as did Cisco so the only ones with powers are Barry, Cecile kinda, and Allegra. I'm still waiting for Bart to arrive though and I'm worried all this anticipation will leave me feeling disappointed especially since Jordan Fisher is busy on Broadway and I wonder if he'd have the time to do both... Cecile's whole thing with therapy does feel a little out of nowhere but I liked the talk Joe and Cecile had at the end which might have made the whole thing worth it. It was also hilarious seeing Chester catch Barry and Iris in the Starchives and how he was like please do it somewhere else. Also I guess I was wrong in assuming that the mask was the Big Bad cause we defeated it pretty quickly so the hunt's still on to find the second half of the season's Big Bad.

Next week feels like a bit of a filler episode given that we're following Allegra as she tries to find her evil cousin but at the same time some of the best episodes of The Flash have been ones that don't focus on The Flash so I'll keep an open mind.

Superman & Lois Season 1 Episode 10

I want to roll my eyes at the fact that Morgan Edge really was Clark's half brother but honestly that part makes sense especially after watching the Syfy show Krypton and seeing how much the world focused on genetic engineering. It's the fact that he ended up on Earth that I don't love cause I never really like when there are tons and tons of aliens from Krypton who escaped before the destruction since more Kryptonians means Clark is less special. I also don't know if I love the fact that Jor El never actually told Clark that he had a half brother but I did like that we finally got a glimpse of this universe's Jor El and it was super sweet that the first thing Clark did after saving the day was take his mom's consciousness to the Fortress so that he didn't have to lose her for the third time. What I'm not entirely sure of is whether Morgan Edge followed him to the Fortress or if we're somewhere else cause the whole dark and empty landscape thing was not helping. Also as a sidebar Lana is such a badass and I wish that she had someone better for her than Kyle the hot mess but also I'm still on the Jonathan going dark bandwagon even though I don't particularly want to be.

Hmm looks like the promo for next week is showing us that we'll actually be getting a flashback to when Clark first became Superman which is interesting. I wonder if it's meant to make him reaffirm his love for humanity while he's suffering from a solar flare.

Loki Season 1 Episode 2

Well okay no one is shocked that the Loki we're chasing is Lady Loki but I am really curious to find out what she wants. Our Loki despite everything still wants to rule and he's switched his target from the Nine Realms or whatever to the TVA but Lady Loki just bombed the sacred timeline which means that she must want to destroy the TVA or find the Time Keepers. Maybe she's pissed at the way her story was written in the sacred timeline and wants revenge or maybe she wants to fix problems like Ragnarok? Speaking of what's interesting is the fact that the TVA file says that Ragnarok killed a major portion of the Asgardian population but I was fairly certain in Thor Ragnarok that Thor and Loki saved most of the population if not all but if that's not the case then the jokes that Taikia placed right as everyone watched Asgard explode was really much more horrible than I first thought! Part of me is glad that Loki followed Lady Loki into that portal cause I want to know more about her but the rest of me is a little sad that everyone who distrusted Loki was proven right. It sucks that Moebius is going to be blamed for all this even though really if Loki wasn't in the field or if this mission wasn't sanctioned, everything would still have gone down the same way so bygones and all that maybe??

My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 13

Even though I can't help but feel like all of the Class A v Class B stuff was low key filler even if it did showcase to us how much our kids grew over the course of 5 seasons, this episode was definitely more of a transitional one than the previous ones cause it definitely feels like we're building up to something really hitting the fan. I couldn't remember what happened to Best Jeanist but I thought he was okay last we checked after the All For One fight so the fact that he's missing has me curious. Did he just recently disappear and is this disappearance more of a missing/kidnapped thing or that he's taking a break? I feel like the fact that the rest of 1A doesn't know must mean it's the second but either way him disappearing means that Katsuki and Deku can go with Shouto to intern with Endeavor which makes me happy cause the more Shouto we get the better!

KDRAMA

Doom At Your Service (12/16)
: Tak Dong Kyung has been working hard ever since her parents passed away. Her life seemed more stable after working as an web novel editor for 6 years, but then she gets diagnosed with a brain cancer. She blames her unlucky life and wishes to curse everything to disappear, which unintentionally calls Myeol Mang, a messenger between humans and gods, to appear. He says that he can grant her wishes. As her last hope, she makes a contract with Myeol Mang for a hundred days to live how she wants, risking her everything.

Somehow I did not expect amnesia to hit in this story when I should have given that we were warned a while ago that the Deity might reset Myeol Mang but I was honestly more surprised to find out that it was Dong Kyung though it was exactly in her character to do so in order to make everyone else feel better. Her family were upset that she wouldn't get treated in the hospital and Myeol Mang was saddened with the thought of losing her so she decided that it was better for them to not have met. Unfortunately for her the two of them meeting and falling in love was part of the same fate that decided that she had to die so even after the amnesia the two met and were charmed enough by each other. I do have to say though for once a storyline like this didn't drive me crazy and I think it's cause like I said last week there's really no story in this show so the fact that something actually happened was refreshing. Meanwhile I have officially decided that Joo Ik is the one that Ji Na will end up with cause it's clear that Hyun Ku and her have nothing between them anymore other than nostalgia which is interesting cause I don't ship her with either guy since they're both shades of terrible but my heart breaks for Kang Tae Oh.
Imitation (7/12)

Ahh there's nothing better in a rom com than an accident to get our leads to confess their feelings for one another! What interests me is the fact that Ma Ha can't get within three feet of Ryok but Li Ma can go around trying to give him lap dances or visit him in the hospital and that's all fine and dandy with the FINS. Is it that they don't like Ma Ha for being a nobody rather than the fact that they just don't want their idols dating? Also seriously why do Ryok and Ma Ha need to go out out in order to date? Couldn't they just hang out inside somewhere that would be normal to see them in? I do think it's kinda early in the show for them to have been caught by the paparazzi though I wonder if it's actually one of CEO Park's men who's following Ryok. Ji Hak's reaction to the two of them was about what I expected and so were the other Tea Party girls who have continued to disappoint me with how they don't care about Ma Ha's feelings at all whereas the SHAX boys that know are adorably precious. It's also super cute that one of the other SHAX boys have a crush on Ri Ah and she's constantly and clearly shutting him down.
Mad For Each Other (12/13)
: About two people with their own painful stories who go through a complicated process of hurting and healing while falling in love with each other.

It doesn't feel like there's only one episode left of this show cause I feel like there's so much still to wrap up! We really went from Min Kyung and Hwi Oh officially dating to them breaking up in the course of this week and it's completely understandable why Min Kyung made that decision. I mean yes Hwi Oh has been mad around her before but this time was different especially since her abusive ex was there. She probs was terrified and still tried to help and yet fell on her ass all the same. The saddest thing is that before this I wanted to praise Hwi Oh for how soft he is around her like when she was freaking out over Howi's accident and he squatted down and gently asked her to open the door and asked her what was wrong. I do think he should have checked the CCTV right then when they talked about it cause even if she was wrong and it was all in her head, it would have helped her to realize it right away but instead it was the first of many fights. Having said all that I do want to highlight how amazing it was when they did get together at the top of the week from her calling him cause she misses him to them sleeping together which I was high key squealing about! I even liked the return of the ex even if it led to problems and I'm left really curious to see how they'll get back together again.
My Roommate Is A Gumiho (8/16)

We're halfway through this show now and this week was strange cause hit the amnesia part of the story except Dam actually didn't lose her memories so both she and Woo Yeo are pretending like they don't know each other and it's low key hilarious. As it also turned out Woo Yeo's first love did appear again but unlike what I thought would be used to make him choose between his first and second love, the girl who looked like his first love was actually just an evil spirit who was pretending to be his first love in order to steal his Marble away. We're back to not having a real villain to fight cause Woo Yeo actually defeated it super fast though it left us with a conundrum and showed us that if he doesn't hurry up and become human this year then he'll also turn into an evil spirit. I wonder if he'll end up putting it back in Dam cause he does need to collect more energy and it feels like he shouldn't be too far from it in order to protect it and the host but since this is a romance then there's no way that he can not be next to Dam. In other news the second leads are getting cuter and cuter every week and I can't wait to see who falls first though I have a feeling it'll be Hye Sun cause I want to see her chase the poor boy around and see how fast he falls.
So I Married An Anti-Fan (14/16)
: Hoo Joon is a top star while Geun Young is a magazine reporter.

Can you believe we're one week away from the finale for this show?? It's actually crazy cause I started out not really liking this show but needing a rom com to fill the emptiness of my kdrama rom com slot and ended up really falling in love with our main couple. Once Hoo Joon stopped being an asshole for no reason he became someone I could understand that Geun Young liked rather than being like what does she see in this asshole?? Shit hit the fan this week in terms of every lie that had been building from Geun Young's file on Hoo Joon's two-facedness being exposed to Superpatch really being such a disgusting company to Hoo Joon finding out about Bae's horribleness to JJ and Hoo Joon kinda reconciled even though I didn't particularly enjoy that given that the show wants to give JJ a redemption arc when I still despise him. I was glad that Hoo Joon's lies were exposed by Bae though cause it gave him the reason to finally leave the company and not fear the lies anymore. Bae had really no right to dictate Hoo Joon's love life either and I really liked that Geun Young despite worrying didn't actually do the noble idiot thing and break up with Hoo Joon "for his own good" though it was funny that literally no one in that giant filming crew saw Hoo Joon and Geun Young make out on that beach. I'm assuming that next week the fact that Hoo Joon's birth father is an entertainment lawyer means that he'll be able to help Hoo Joon with Bae and Hoo Joon will probs join JJ's company and I'm hoping that he and Geun Young can live happily ever after!!

CDRAMA

DROPPED New Horizon (30/47): It is about young people who dream of taking flight in the blue skies and the tests that they encounter when in comes to friendship, romance and career. Xiao Mo is a talented pilot who experiences a blow to his career when a person dies on his watch because of an accident. The person is the mother of Xia Yu who is the successor of an aviation empire. Even though subsequent investigations cleared Xiao Mo of any fault, he resigns from his job due to guilt and chooses to become a mechanic instead. Two years later, Xiao Mo returns to flying and also encounters Xia Yu who's studying to become a pilot as well. The two men find themselves falling for the same woman. To complicate matters, details from two years ago resurface causing the people to suspect Xiao Mo once again.

I am deciding to drop this drama cause I really can't deal with Wu Di anymore. Like I get the idea of the woman needing her man to treat her like a queen but seriously she's starting to get excessive. She knows the kind of man she's dating and yet she complains that he's not romantic enough or doesn't sweet-talk her enough. I hated how jealous she got over that photographer cause like she knows he's not a playboy and like he said once he likes someone he only likes that person but Wu Di went around acting like the fact the two of them speak to each other is like he slept with this girl. I also really don't understand what their fight is about now. Like I get the idea that he doesn't say what he does or doesn't like but if you tell him not to accomodate you then that should be that! Wu Di meanwhile is throwing tantrums left and right and I swear if I have to look at her pouting face one more time I might drop this drama. I hate that the show is trying to convince you that it's all his fault and maybe it's a me problem and maybe I'm a robot too but I really don't understand. All that aside I found myself enjoying the third couple in this show the most this week with Yu Jie and Luo Dong though I also liked Xia Yu and Wu Di's roommate a lot too.

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 5

On the whole this wasn't exactly the best episode to come back to cause I really didn't care much for following Astra through her troubles but the Sara and Bishop stuff was interesting enough to save it. Having said that there were some stuff in the Astra storyline that were fun such as seeing her seeing John do all sorts of funny things popping in and out of the manor hinting at previous episodes but also I really loved everything once Crowley turned the world into an animated one. Seeing the Legends as magical objects was hysterical but I am curious about the whole John has no more power thing and based on his face it looks like he can never get it back. Naturally I'm not worried cause I'm sure he'll drink from the alien fountain that Crowley was talking about and get it back but I do wonder how long he'll keep this whole thing a secret for. Meanwhile with Sara, I'm still not thrilled at where this whole alien thing ended up but I did like the idea of Bishop being the creator of the Ava clones cause it'll definitely lead to some fun Ava stuff. It also seems like Bishop has somehow linked his life with Sara's so like kill one the other dies too but it doesn't explain why they're immortal. Also his plan is seriously one of the dumbest I've seen on Legends so there's that.

The most exciting thing about next week is definitely Gary coming back cause the whole Sara storyline didn't feel the same without him! I am curious though about why Bishop would send Amelia to Earth and the Legends specifically cause wouldn't it just cause problems for him?

Fruits Basket Season 3 Episode 10

We really are ramping up towards the end and it's high key making me sad cause I don't want it to end!! Part of me still can't help but feel like things are being rushed like Yuki falling in love with Machi or Kyo forgiving himself for everything. Like it was just two episodes ago that he decided that he was unlovable but all of a sudden none of it matter anymore? I'd maybe believe it a bit more if Kyo in a funk went to visit his dad and then realized that he was misremembering certain things about his mom's death leading to him thinking that maybe he was wrong about Kyoko or even seeing his father and deciding that isn't who he wants to be like but the way it played out Yuki basically told him to get over himself and Kyo was like yeah okay. I guess I shouldn't complain too much though cause I want Kyo and Tohru to have a heart to heart next week and kiss for real cause I adore them! Meanwhile Akito told Arisa where Kureno was and she went to visit him and they basically decided to run away together cause Akito needs to move on and Arisa loves Kureno and it was adorable as all hell especially how shocked Kureno was that Arisa would follow him when he thinks that he doesn't deserve her. Akito too decided things were about to change when she said that Kyo was free and that she's knocking down the cottage.

The Flash Season 7 Episode 12

We're back with a new episode of The Flash and it was Cisco's goodbye episode. Once again I probs should have cared more but the amount of times that I thought this show was writing Cisco is too high to count so I'm pretty sure I've used up all my emotion on it. That and somehow this show no longer makes me feel pretty much anything. Legends and Superman & Lois still do but this one I watch more amused than anything else. Like the big thing all episode was that Cisco told the others that he was leaving to take over ARGUS's science division and then worried that they wouldn't miss him cause they were acting too cool only to find out that they were just pretending not to be sad so that their last day wouldn't be filled with tears and honestly what juvenile writing. That might be such a mean thing to say but there I said it. Also I had to laugh at the idea that Diggle and Lyla went to Metropolis at the end of Arrow but now Cisco and Camille are moving to Star City? I do wonder who the show will get to replace Camille though cause the new photographer will definitely be a supporting cast member who'll eventually join Team Flash so it can't be some nobody. Maybe this is how Bart comes into the picture? Also it looks like Cecile is going to be the villain for this back half cause it looks like her powers are evolving or she's seeing someone that no one else can?

Okay so yeah the promo for next week definitely just answered my questions. It looks like it's someone else who's going to be the Big Bad and they've possessed Cecile's body for it unless this is all a red herring to trick us which I could believe.

Superman & Lois Season 1 Episode 9

I'm always so amped watching this show and I wonder if at any point I'll be over how good it is cause I really hope not. This week saw Jordan and Clark get poisoned by the synthetic Kryptonite gas that Clark was doused with last week and I liked the idea that it was basically like a virus with the way it spread from Clark to Jordan. It's always so fun to see the two of them do superhero things and I'm just waiting not so patiently until he gets to wear the Superboy costume. On the other hand I am starting to worry a smidge about where Jonathon's storyline might be going. Like we all know that eventually his powers will manifest but it'll probs be a while from now but in the meantime I'm really enjoying the parallels between him and Lois but the thing that worries me a bit is the thought that maybe he'll end up more like General Lane than Lois despite the fact that he's adamant that he would never fear his family especially after he fought those X-Kryptonite people. I don't doubt that he would love and protect his family but I do have a feeling that he'll go a bit dark which is sad for my sunshine boy. Also we found out that Edge is also an alien but I really hope he's not Kryptonian or actually Clark's family cause I feel like we've been there done that in like every iteration of Superman including Supergirl and I'd like to imagine that this show is more unique but at the same time what else could have turned Clark in John Henry Irons's world other than the appearance of his family?

Ugh the promo is really doubling down on the whole Edge and Clark are brothers thing huh? Please be a red herring! Also it looks like the kids might be stuck in one of General Lane's bunkers while something is going on? Yes please!

Loki Season 1 Episode 1

Ahhh so the first episode of Loki is finally out and it was everything I could have wished for! Okay so the first half was a bit rough cause the Loki we meet up with is the Loki from Avengers who went on and on about destiny and freedom being fake and wanting to be King which was my least favorite Loki but as the episode went on we saw more of the anti-hero Loki who is more my jam and that's when the episode kicked in for me. I love that despite everything Loki does love his family in his own sort of way. The way he freaked out at the idea of the TVA having his mom somewhere and losing it seeing her die and then his dad and smiling at the idea of bonding with Thor again made me heart ache for him. The whole thing made him realize that he's so far out of his depth with this time travel stuff and I'm left wondering what he'll end up doing cause despite the goodness in him he's still not a hero and I bet he's still got a plan cooking in the back of his mind. Like maybe he'll play along and see where this whole thing goes but in the end he wants to take over the TVA or meet the Time Keepers or something and I look forward to seeing where that goes. I am curious about the fact that there's a Loki out there that's killing TVA members and I wonder which dark timeline he's from cause I can't see ours really hunting despite all his threats.

My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 12

Okay now that the show is officially moving on from the competition, it's starting to feel like the amazing gem it was before. Like I always enjoy competitions and stuff but somehow it's not my favorite part in this show and something about a competition without any stakes was meh to me. Like at least previous competitions were meant to get the kids internships or hero licenses but this was just meant to reintroduce us to Shinso so that we'll be happy when he joins Class A cause duh obviously he will given that Eraserhead is his mentor. I did like seeing Eri again cause she's adorable and of course she was with Best Boi Togata and that she gave Deku the confidence to not fear his One For All cause quirks are just tools that can be good or bad based on who wields them. It was also fun seeing Shouto and Katsuki catch those villains and help save the day 30 minutes after they got their licenses and it was funny seeing Shouto reach out to his dad to ask him to help train his fire just cause of how Endeavor reacted. Like hold up villain I need to text my son back.

KDRAMA

Doom At Your Service (10/16)
: Tak Dong Kyung has been working hard ever since her parents passed away. Her life seemed more stable after working as an web novel editor for 6 years, but then she gets diagnosed with a brain cancer. She blames her unlucky life and wishes to curse everything to disappear, which unintentionally calls Myeol Mang, a messenger between humans and gods, to appear. He says that he can grant her wishes. As her last hope, she makes a contract with Myeol Mang for a hundred days to live how she wants, risking her everything.

I'm not sure I understood Dong Kyung's plan this week cause like she clearly wanted to say goodbye to everyone she loved and then go live quietly somewhere until she passed on but like that makes no sense cause she still has to make that wish so refusing to be near her loved ones doesn't stop them from still being her loved ones! Whether she was hiding or living next to them, one of them would still die cause she loved them. I also have to say that I'm low key getting a little bored of the same thing happening over and over in terms of the story. Like maybe that's cause there's no big supernatural thing or villain to fight in this show and yet this show isn't exactly a slice-of-life either given that we have a pretty terrible supporting cast. This problem has existed from the start but at first the chemistry between our leads was holding me over but now it's getting a bit stale. It also doesn't help that I can't enjoy the second love triangle either cause after this week it does look like Hyun Ku is the second lead and I really don't like that for poor Tae Oh and I wonder why he chose this project after Run On. Like it can't even be that he was excited to work with big names like Park Bo Young and Seo In Guk cause the poor guy doesn't even share any scenes with them and all it does is make me want to rewatch Run On for him.
Imitation (5/12)

The thing with this week was that on the basic level I understand where Ma Ha's friends are coming from in terms of the FINS being terrifying so Ma Ha should stay away from Ryok but on the other they're supposed to be friends and what they're doing is truly so mean. Like first of all Hyun Ji is only stopping Ma Ha from seeing Ryok cause she likes Yu Jin and knows that he likes Ma Ha but Ri Ah is acting like the manager more than Tea Party's actual manager who tbh probs wouldn't even care if Ma Ha and Ryok secretly dated but I liked his comment about the girls needing to stop being in each other's business so much otherwise they'd go from friends to something else and I wonder if there really will be strife given the way Ma Ha flinched away from Ri Ah in the rehearsal room. On the other hand Ryok's possessiveness is not cute either cause he's going a bit too far in his jealousy but on the whole I feel for the two of them. As it also turns out plot twist Eun Jo's disappearance is also connected to the fact that SHAX's leader snitched on him dating Annie. Eun Jo's situation is starting to appear to be more and more like Ryok's and I bet that's why Ryok's manager is so antsy. Both boys loved a girl they knew way before they became an idol and continued seeing each other after. I also wonder how much or who Eun Jo blames for Annie's suicide and it makes me more curious to know what happened!
FINISHED Law School (16/16): When a grim incident occurs at their prestigious school, justice through law is put to a test by a tough law professor and his ambitious students. Yang Jong Hoon is a criminal law professor and a former elite prosecutor, whose harsh words make him the professor to steer clear of. At the same time, there’s something compelling about his strict teaching methods and his refusal to accept less than the best from his future juniors in the legal profession. Han Joon Hwi, a first-year law student, is at the top of his class. He’s a natural leader whose good looks and easy charm make him the perfect man - on paper. However, there’s an unexpected side to him that remains well-hidden. Kang Sol is another first-year law student who overcame childhood poverty and hardships by gaining special admission to the school. She walks a path of thorns due to her constant sense of deprivation and shame amidst the wealth and talent that surrounds her. Eventually, her passion will enlighten her on what it truly takes to be a good lawyer. Kim Eun Sook is a civil law professor who was once the head of the law school’s free legal clinic. Her natural air of authority and freewheeling personality earned her the reputation for being a master in court. Known for being a highly-relatable professor, she is the sole colleague Yang Jong Hoon dares to confide in.

The finale for this show aired this week and I have to say that I was the tiniest bit let down. Not because I didn't get what I wanted cause technically we did hit all the major points but I can't help but think about what could of been. This show spent so much time on Assemblyman Ko and his antics that his trial felt like so anticlimactic. The show really tried to redeem Prosecutor Jin at the same time as making Ko dumb enough to think that Dan would take his side over her sister's rather than giving our team some sort of smoking gun and that didn't work for me. The best part of this finale was the mock trial and once again I was also reminded that this show would have been so fun if it had been a slice-of-life college drama where we got rid of all the murder and politics and focused on these kids going to school and doing the things that they would. Having said all that there were some things I enjoyed such as Joon Hwi and Sol A not getting together cause everyone seemed to think they were inevitable but I preferred to see them as close friends. I also liked that Professor Yang continued to teach and be such a dramatic man but also that Joon Hwi ended up becoming a prosecutor like he wanted to and that Sol A ended up joining Park's law firm which was hilarious. All in all I do think this show deserves praise for feeling so different from most kdramas and despite my problems with it I did have fun so I'd give it a 8.5 / 10.
Mad For Each Other (9/13)
: About two people with their own painful stories who go through a complicated process of hurting and healing while falling in love with each other.

In the course of the past few weeks this show has somehow gone from what the hell is this to my most look forwarded to show of the week. I can't even explain to you what it is given that there are a lot more hyped up dramas that I enjoy and yet if I had the choice I'd rather watch this one first. Like what is the hidden charm of this show?? We did make a lot of progress this week and I was seriously thrown off when I realized the finale is two weeks away so we have a lot of ground to still cover. Min Kyung and Hwi Oh are basically together now without ever saying it which is absolutely adorable and I love that their respective moms are so on board. Min Kyung's mom started out feeling like she would be a bad guy only for me to pity her later. Having said that I won't forgive her for not believing Min Kyung first given that she's literally her mom and a parent's job is to believe their kid over everyone else. I mean even Min Kyung's monster ex's mom picked his side over the world's. I did like that Min Kyung was the one to tell Hwi Oh about what happened to her and I really hope that we'll get to see her at court with Hwi Oh by her side. I was living for the moment she decided not to run and to fight like yes girl yes and low key I can't wait to see what the ladies of the Women Association do cause they showed up at that cafe ready to throw hands!
My Roommate Is A Gumiho (6/16)

Okay so straight up this show deserves all the praise for doing the one thing I wanted it to but didn't hope for out of fear of being wrong. Woo Yeo's first love wasn't Dam in another life and I've never been more thankful for it!!! The one and only time I like reincarnation stories is like Chicago Typewriter when both are reincarnated humans and because this show didn't go that route I can fully sink into the main couple and enjoy the slowish burn. I do wonder if the past lover will reappear at some point in a new body and Woo Yeo will have to decide if he wants to be with his first love or second kinda like an ex girlfriend in other shows but it's also possible that the first girl is nothing more than a warning for him about why to stay away from Dam. I kinda do hope that he gets the Marble out and she gets amnesia cause for once I want to see the male lead try to get the female lead to love him again but at the same time I wonder if his Marble can only turn blue and make him human after it kills her. Like what if the last ingredient is love and Hye Sun never figured it out cause she moved on quickly? On another note I mentioned last week that there's no villain in this show but I totally forgot about that random serial killer that was mentioned in like episode 1 or 2 and the fact that it's totally some sort of rogue gumiho that's stealing livers for laughs.
FINISHED Sell Your Haunted House (16/16): Ji Ah, a woman who has inherited exorcism abilities from her mother, is the owner of Daebak Realty, a company that specializes in selling haunted houses. Ji Ah looks perfect and is also brilliant, but her hot temper makes her fists fly before her words. One day, Ji Ah encounters a conman named In Beom who specializes in exorcism fraud. Late at night when Daebak Realty operates, In Beom visits Ji Ah to make an offer. He suggests that they team up to exclusively sell houses that are haunted by vengeful spirits and lingering ghosts. Can the two get along well and deal with house prices, ghosts, and their sorrowful stories?

As the show came to an end this week the one thing that ran through my mind was the fact that I will never get over how it lied to me so clearly when it told me that this show had romance in it. What is it with my brain and wanting romance in dramas where there isn't any and yet getting bored of shows that have romance in them? Maybe it's cause I've grown up watching American shows whose focus is never really romance so I enjoy the crumbs more than the full meals? Either way the point is that Ji Ah and In Beom never confessed their feelings for each other or even hinted at it and my heart cried for it. Having said all that this finale was still pretty great on the whole and unlike the Law School one nothing happened that felt anticlimactic or out of nowhere. It made complete sense that the CEO's unrested spirit would take over In Beom and that Ji Ah would seal him instead of exorcising him and that cause she used her powers for revenge she lost them temporarily. It was also super sad when she exorcised her mom and was able to finally move on but I really loved that the show ended with our foursome continuing their Daebak Reality business cause it always makes me sad when a show ends and the characters are like well we're done being together too (looking at you Agents Of SHIELD and Arrow.) I'd like to imagine that they keep having adventures off screen together! Despite my complaints with the lack of romantic payoff I do think this was one of the better supernatural ghost fighting shows out there so I'd give it a 9 / 10!
So I Married An Anti-Fan (12/16)
: Hoo Joon is a top star while Geun Young is a magazine reporter.

This week actually surprised me with the way it dealt with the In Hyung situation. Maybe it's cause I know this is an older drama that's being released now but I really did expect more in terms of In Hyung trying to kill herself and Hoo Joon needing to protect her and feeling guilty. Fortunately for me and my sanity the show didn't go that route. Hoo Joon took Geun Young with him to the hospital and there was no real jealousy or backstabbing and part of me thinks it's cause In Hyung is more of a good person than I thought. She is jealous of Geun Young taking Hoo Joon's heart but not to the degree that she's really about to ruin things for them which is what really kept the drama out. I mean honestly though JJ is enough of a villain on his own and the more I see of him the more I'm confused over not only what he wants but why he hates Hoo Joon so much. Like yeah Hoo Joon decided to stay at the agency he was at rather than leaving with them and yeah he was clearly jealous of In Hyung and Hoo Joon dating but that doesn't seem like enough for this amount of true and pure hatred. I was glad though that In Hyung is managing to pull herself away from him and it's funny how she's gotten more attention in a week than 7 years as a rookie in JJ's company. Clearly he never wanted her to famous either cause he knew she would leave him.

CDRAMA

New Horizon (19/47)
: It is about young people who dream of taking flight in the blue skies and the tests that they encounter when in comes to friendship, romance and career.

This week was a mixed bag in terms of story. On the one hand we saw Xiao Mo and Wu Di start dating which was totally adorable but on the other we got mother-in-law drama which you know is my least favorite kind of drama there is. One of my favorite things about Xiao Mo and Wu Di is how calm and rational they are about everything but because of that there really weren't any misunderstandings for the two to go through so the drama threw in Wu Di's insane helicopter mother who hated Xiao Mo from the start for not being a rich chaebol like Xia Yu is and even worse talked shit to Xiao Mo's mom about it. I low key hated that the show didn't show Wu Di being more angry about this but I guess since Xiao Mo himself really didn't say much then she really had no reason to be angry either. Having said that I loved that the two kind of just fell into a relationship and didn't hide it from the others so rather than doing some big production about their love people just saw them happy and that felt more real. I love the small things Xiao Mo does for her and I love the way she always appreciates them so much. I do keep waiting for more intense flying issues but maybe that'll come later.
DROPPED Please Be At Ease, Mr Ling (15/24): This is a story of how the 'rabbit' (Gu An Xin) brings home a 'big bad wolf' (Ling Yue) when she chances upon the hotshot executive after an accident. His injuries and the accident were the result of an ugly fight for succession at a powerful conglomerate. But none of that was evident initially; he first appeared stupid but slowly proved himself to be a genius. With two people so different from each other living together, what kind of relationship will they have?

Wow the amount I don't care about this show anymore is astronomical. I really should learn by now that modern Chinese rom coms are not my thing cause nothing ever happens in them that I care about. Like I'm always into the romance at the start but as the show goes on it either gets stale cause there's too much screen time devoted to the romance with no other plot or story or it turns into misunderstanding after misunderstanding to the point where I'm not even into the romance anymore. The problem here was ironically both. I also really hate when the second lead is the brother of the female lead cause it just straight up skeeves me out when two kids who grow up as sibling fall in love. Like that's not how stepsiblings or foster siblings work! The whole business thing wasn't all that exciting either though I did like that Fang and Yue sort of reconciled and honestly I expected more from Anxin being a Gu but her father is a monster so maybe the point isn't to reconcile them. Oh well thank you, next.
