What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Poldark Season 5 Episode 5

Can we take a moment to talk about what a complete badass Caroline is? I feel like she doesn't get the shoutout or screen time she deserves but she is extremely cunning and intelligent and I loved how she was able to have those men sign saying that they found nothing in Ross's house so that they couldn't lie later and say they found that pamphlet in order to arrest Ross. I still don't know why she feels like Dwight is into Kitty but despite that I loved that she convinced him to return to Ross's side cause if she didn't, Ross would have been screwed. On another note at least Ross has FINALLY figured out that Ned is bomb waiting to explode and honestly it's about time cause Ross is smarter than this! Of course Ned is being charged for treason cause he's been running around shouting about how the King is mad and that his veto is insane so there's not going to be any scarcity in finding any witnesses. The new villain was weirdly revealed this week and since he's a new character, I'm not sure why we had to go through all that cloak-and-dagger before. Demelza also kicked ass back in Cornwall too even though I low-key wished that she would have gotten Tess arrested. The way she spoke at the tavern was incredible and I was screaming when she told them that forgery was a hanging offense. Take that Tess you asshole. She's literally just ornery for no reason like George back in season 1 who hated Ross for just being Ross before they did evil things to each other. Also Morwenna and Drake tried to kidnap Morwenna's child only to give up in the end and now I think they'll have a child of their own cause it feels like Morwenna saying that she's finally ready to love Drake is pretty much like I'm ready now.

UGH ROSS YOU MORON. I'm seriously ready for something horrible to happen to Ross next week cause I'm about to strangle him for continuously making terrible decisions. It's time to throw the towel in on Ned cause he's a lost case! On another note poor Geoffrey Charles looks like he was beaten and George is the damn worst cause after everything he's been through how could he begrudge another's love? Especially when he doesn't want to get married anyway??

Young Justice Season 3 Episode 22

This episode should have been called the truth comes out for the amount of secrets that were revealed in these 30 minutes!!! Between everyone finding out about the different teams being connected and Jace's evil plan, I was fascinated. Honestly it was about time everything came out cause we're nearing the end of this season and it's time to start wrapping things up. It was a little strange that Jefferson was the one to completely lose it about all the secrecy cause if anyone had the right to complain it should have been Gar but I actually really loved that pretty much everyone regardless of whether they agreed or not with what happened was like well what else is new cause it's Batman duh. I'm curious if Jefferson was accidentally brainwashed in the pit leading to his overreaction and it would explain why Dick was so destroyed by the pit while Jefferson was fine unless it was the fact that Dick was human. I don't love that this is what caused Tara to pick Slade over the heroes cause it's not like the secrecy affected her in any way unlike what Jace and Ultra Humanite did but then again she doesn't know that Slade is working with the Light so I get it. I was also low key confused about what Granny Goodness was doing but like in the end it's a new way to brainwash people and that's all we really need to know plus the fact that Vandal Savage isn't thrilled with this new method cause it puts us humans at a disadvantage. Maybe this season will end with the Light joining forces with the heroes to defeat Darkseid. I'm still high key waiting for Wally to come back and speaking of, Artemis wasn't around this week and I wonder if that's on purpose cause other than Halo and Brion, Tara was the closest to Artemis so if she was here, would Tara have hesitated more?

Astra Lost In Space Episode 7

This episode felt so different from others probs cause of the ending and it makes me even more curious to see what happens in this show. I wonder if this blonde woman we found is going to join our crew cause she's not in the main cast but I can't see them just leaving her here. I also wonder if maybe though this Astra ship isn't working either if they can maybe take parts and fix their own ship. What are the chances that the same parts broke in both ships? It's the only real way I can think of fixing the problem and getting us back to space cause there's no way that our story ends here when we haven't learned anything yet! We got Charce's backstory now and it feels like Aries is the only one left who hasn't really said what led her to all of this but I don't think it's a coincidence that Charce's friend Seira looks like Aries. Though in the flashbacks we didn't see what color hair she had, the length and look was very similar and in Charce's shadow-y photo the hair did look pink so that's throwing up some major red flags for me. What if Seira woke up a little while ago but lost her memory and her parents hating what happened to her changed her name to give her a new life? I low key want to go back and rewatch earlier episodes to see if I missed anything or if Charce ever acted kind of strange around Seira. 

FINISHED Krypton Season 2 Episode 10

What an epic finale! I loved almost everything that happened and only one story was a little strange. We finally defeated Dru Zod and I loved that his downfall was his inability to know what the people of Krypton needed. It's always been his fatal flaw cause Kryptonians aren't like him no matter what he believes and Superman isn't soft. I loved Seg's speech about how Dru was taking away the most important thing about Kryptonians which is their spirit and that Lyta was able to get all the Sagitari back and it was everything watching Dru trying to get the Sagitari to do what he wanted only to see that no one was listening to him. I also love the idea of him being put in the Black Mercy as a way to keep him sedated cause it's true that no prison could really hold him for long. I wondered if hed' stay there until Krypton explodes but I have a feeling at some point in a future season, our heroes might be like let's wake him up cause we need him to help us against *insert villain here* cause duh. I was right last week in saying that Adam was paralyzed after those rocks fell on him but the weird leg contraption is definitely not what I thought Val would come up with to fix him but part of me still thinks that we'll find a better method by next season. Lobo was back too and amazing as always and as I thought he's going to play a bigger role in next season where we will be hunting down Brainiac to get Jor El back. Speaking of, Nyssa's jump to Rann was the one thing I didn't love this season. Not only does it separate her from the cast (at least for the beginning of the next season I'm guessing) but I'm guessing her plan was to find Sardath, who built the Zeta tech, and ask him to help her get to Brainiac but it looks like Rann is in the middle of some sort of war so maybe the best plan is for her to return to Krypton quickly so that she can catch Seg and Lobo before they leave. It looks like Brainiac is trying to get to Earth and calling Jor his son which is weird.

Unfortunately as I finished writing this review, I just found out that Krypton was cancelled and that sucks so much cause I do think Krypton doesn't get nearly the amount of love it deserves since it's definitely one of the best written superhero shows on tv with hands down the best makeup department and I wish more people had checked it out but it looks like we'll be saying goodbye to this one.

Fruits Basket (2019) Season 1 Episode 20

It was Hiro's episode this week and man oh man do I adore him. He's a bit of a brat of course but can you blame him after everything that happened? He loves Kisa so much and all he ever wanted was to make her happy and even after everything and how jealous he gets around Tohru, he still attempted to spend time with them just so he could be with Kisa. I think the true blame lies with Akito who I literally cannot understand why everyone keeps forgiving him for all the things he's done. I feel like Akito for some reason wants every member of the zodiac to belong to him and him alone so when the zodiacs fall in love, he gets furious and attacks the person who took the attention away from him. It's especially horrible this time around cause Hiro and Kisa are like 11 or 12 so the fact that Hiro knew about his feelings and wanted to tell Akito about them only for Akito to attack poor Kisa was horrific. They're children and Akito who's supposed to be a grown adult couldn't stand that a 12 year old had a crush? Get a life Akito. I also understand why Hiro stayed away after what happened cause if even Hatori had no idea how to move on from what happened with Kana, how could we expect a child to do anything different? He thought he was protecting Kisa when if he had probably asked her, she wouldn't have wanted him to stay away at all no matter how much pain she was in. 

It feels like based on the title for next week that we'll be touching on Hana's backstory or at least have a Hana centric one. I think there's supposed to be 25 episodes in total and if Hana gets two episodes like Uo did, then we have three to deal with Kyo if we're following the 2001 timeline of events.

What Dramas Am I Watching This Week?

So this week was really slow cause I was on vacation so I was only able to watch two shows this week which sucks a little cause I do watch a bunch of dramas so next week I'm going to struggle to catch up! Anyway as per usual the list is split by country and the episodes I've seen so far are written below! There will be spoilers from now on so if you aren't caught to the episode number on list, you might want to go watch that episode and then come back! KDRAMA

Doctor John (16/32): In a refreshing take on the genre, “Doctor John” will portray the doctors’ search for the cause of their patients’ mysterious pain as a thrilling chase, almost like a detective hunting down the perpetrator behind an unsolved crime. Cha Yo Han is a genius anesthesiologist, who is also the youngest professor at his medical school. The brilliant doctor goes by the nickname “10 Seconds,” referring to his ability to figure out his patients in the 10 seconds that it takes for them to enter an examination room and walk to their seat. Kang Shi Young is a legendary anesthesiologist, who was always at the top of her class throughout medical school. The talented doctor inherited her skills from her cool-headed, rational mother, while she inherited her empathy, listening skills, and warm bedside manner from her father.

So we finally learned why Eun Jung and Suk Ki have it out for Yo Han in a personal way and as I assumed, it's cause that guy who was euthanized kidnapped and killed their kids and Eun Jang wanted to make him suffer more which is why she's so furious with Yo Han. She's a hypocrite and criminal in her own right cause she forced a patient's signature but is acting all high and mighty and I'm sitting here wondering why neither of them can get a life cause regardless of anyone's opinion, Yo Han was punished for what he did. They seriously can't keep following him around waiting for him to make another mistake or stirring shit up about him because again he's done his time and if they keep hovering he should get a restraining order against at least Suk Ki. I also have a feeling that he's lying about having stomach cancer but if he's telling the truth, I'd like to see how he feels once he gets closer to the terminal stage and is writhing in pain so we can find out if he feels the same about euthanasia as before when he's watching from a distance. I am also guessing that the person who keeps following Shi Young and Yo Han around is that reporter who's working with Eun Jung but I wonder what his connection to all this is. I'm also loving the growing relationship between Yo Han and Shi Young but I do feel like it's knocking us a bit too hard over the head. She's also a little too pushy for my taste especially with his whole pain thing cause it's like he's lived so many years like this so he knows what he can handle so it's like girl calm down a little but at the same time Yo Han, no matter what he says, actually does like her hovering cause I don't think he's had anyone who's cared about him since his father died so it's all so novel for him. I loved that he rushed in when he thought she was in danger and their low key flirting in front of Yoo Joon was hilarious. Shi Young's mom noticed too.

CDRAMA

Unexpected (18/23): A manga artist, He Jie has entered into his own manga “Crystal Love” and he must complete the mission of saving the evil second female lead, turning her into a better person before he can return back to the real world. He ended up having to keep on filling up the loopholes of his own manga again and again, forming a funny love story.

Wow I don't entirely love this new twist in the story though I had a feeling that Doctor Su would end up going bad after Bai Lan died but it was super weird that He Jie fell for Lixing acting like a bad guy when he should have been the one person to believe in her. It's the one thing I struggle with in this drama though it does feel like a faction of He Jie's personality than a writing flaw in the show cause He Jie seems to believe in himself a little too much and no matter how many times he's shown that the characters in his manga are their own people, he believes that his original will still triumphs over all. I also low key don't understand what Lixing's plan is cause she got the pen back from Doctor Su which means that everything should go back to normal but instead it looks like she might be playing along if only to keep He Jie in the manga. I don't think this show will have a sad ending though so I keep waiting to see what the twist in the story is that allows for a happy ending but now we know that He Jie can't stay in the manga otherwise he dies but what if Lixing leaves with him? Would that work? Honestly that might be the better case scenario if I'm being honest cause then they can both be together and Lixing will be able to pursue her passion in a world that's not built to destroy her.

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

FINISHED Dear White People Season 3

So I don't think I've ever actually mentioned that I watch this show on this blog but I do and I actually really actually adored this season as per usual and the topics it touched on. It did take me a second to remember where everyone was and what they went through last season but as soon as I did, I was on board. Every character was going through their own shit and I loved experiencing it. Sam was stuck both in a sense of her documentary and also in the way she looked at the world. I loved that we spent an entire season learning that yes sometimes it's okay to step away and take a break but it's also okay to return to where you were cause you'll have a new prospective. Gabe and Sam are still the cutest and I'm thrilled they're still together and though Gabe's story was a little less intense this season, I enjoyed seeing him struggle with losing the privilege he had and trying to find ways to work around it. Of course the whole Native American debacle was truly cringe-worthy to watch but the way he fixed the situation by actually giving it to a person of color who needed the money was a good way to make amends. Coco struggled with wanting to be an overachiever and it was super sucky that she ended up not getting the fellowship she wanted and though Troy's storyline wasn't the most interesting, I liked that he ended up making the magazine he wants in the end with the others. The most interesting part to me though was definitely what happened with Muffy and Moses cause it was heartbreaking to watch and so real. I loved the way it not only looked at sexual assault but also hero worship and how something like this doesn't just affect one person but a whole race and a campus community. Reggie breaks my heart every season and he did the same this time and really the boy just needs to go to a therapist cause everything he's been doing until now isn't working!

We don't know yet if this show will get a fourth season but I'm praying it does cause there's just so much story left to tell! Not only are we left on such a cliffhanger, this show is so relevant to today's culture! I hope next season we get to learn more about this Order and I have a feeling that Troy with Sam and Lionel will end up revealing some truths!

Poldark Season 5 Episode 4

I don't know what more Ned could do to get Ross off of his side. Literally everyone has told him that he's a terrible influence and a rebel at heart but Ross can't help but want to help anyway. If anything causes him ruin this season it will be Ned dragging him down. On what damn planet did Ned think that it was a good idea to get the commonfolk all riled up and march them down to George?? Though truth be told I have a feeling that it was the commonfolk that got Ned all riled up but either way Ross needs to step back. Demelza tells him every week to stop putting everyone and everything in front of them and their family and one of these damn days maybe he'll listen. Is it bad that I low key want some sort of fever or plague or something to hit Demelza so that Ross will be able to see that he needs to focus on her? Not like anything that could kill but just a cold would be great. The best moment though was when Ross reprimanded Tess for her creepy flirty looks at him and the way that she can't accept Demelza as her boss but even better was when Demelza herself fired her and it was about time cause she gave Tess so many chances and Tess was nothing but confrontational in return. George was also really heartbreaking this week cause he was just wracked with sadness over Elizabeth's death and I loved how Dwight was there for him for so much of it. Caroline's jealously was super strange though and I'm not sure what she was upset about cause obviously he didn't have a crush on Kitty and obviously he's not hiding from her or lying for fun when she knows well and good that he likes to keep his cases mostly confidential. I do wish that George would join our side for once but I think that he just hates Ross so much that he can't ever do that. On another note Geoffrey Charles and Cecily have decided to elope and I have a feeling that's not going to work out whatsoever.

Next week it looks like we're back in London or at least Ross and George are and something is happening though I don't know what. Ned it seems may be losing his mind and the anti-King and country rhetoric they're talking about really needs to be the straw that breaks the camel's back for Ross cause seriously man.

Young Justice Season 3 Episode 21

What a crazy fun episode with a lot of deep moral questions underneath. Karen and Mal had their baby but what I thought was a joke at first ended up actually happening with Karen transforming her daughter's into a meta. It brings up a lot of questions about designer babies and picking and choosing genes but I'm not going to talk about cause whew those are heavy topics. I just thought it was interesting that in a world such as this where lots of metas kids are being experimented on who wish that the powers could go away, Karen and Mal actually thought it was better to be a meta. Personally I'd definitely chose to be a meta than to not but that's me. I also like that we pretty much now know that Granny is from Apokolips and I'd like to imagine this gives us the advantage but I have a feeling she let them know on purpose and it's not like they've got real proof. I do hope that whatever brainwashing Dick and Jefferson went through isn't going to be a recurring thing cause I'd like to imagine that Violet's powers as a motherbox could fix anything Granny's Overlord did especially since Granny didn't know that Violet was one so her shock at Violet speaking the Old Gods' language was genuine. It's super strange though cause I would have figured with Dr Jace being sketch and working with Ultra Humanite who last I checked was part of the Light that all the others would have known. I low key need to make myself a chart to keep track of who's where and which villains are part of which faction cause Granny is on Darkseid's side and Darkseid is only allies with the Light so it's not like they need to share all their secrets. On that note I'm glad that Violet and Brion were able to reconnect not cause I care for their pairing but since Jace seemed to be trying to split them apart so anything that she doesn't want is good.

FINISHED The 100 Season 6 Episode 13

This was the finale for season 6 of this show and I really don't know what I just experienced. Most of the episode was great and I was totally on board for everything that happened but the ending was just so confusing that it blew my mind. As I expected Russell and co really messed up by going into space cause this was not their territory and I low key love how they went from fake benevolent rulers to who cares about anyone or anything except for us five. At the top of the season they could at least pretend like they cared about their people and now they were just like let them destroy each other down on Sanctum and let's get out of here. I really hope that though it wasn't shown that Russell ended up murdered too cause he was the last Prime left except for Priya who's mind drive somehow made it to Jordan who's totally been brainwashed by whatever the Prime worshippers did. I assume his plan is to bring Priya back to life but like in Jordan's mind what's the point cause he loved someone else not Priya unless the brainwashing changed it so that he can't tell a difference. It's also low key a terrible plan cause the one Nightbloods left are Clarke, Madi, Emori and Murphy and it's not like getting any of them will be easy. It was also low key terrible that Madi had to get her Flame wiped cause it feels like in Legend of Korra when Korra lost her connection to the previous avatars which sucks on it's own but it extra sucks cause the Flame code ended up somewhere else so the Evil Commander can live on. I do think it's a little too much of a retcon for me to enjoy cause it's not like Lexa had to fight with him. I also don't think Octavia is dead cause she's a fan favorite and she and Bellamy just reconciled so I don't want anything to ruin that. The anomaly has to be some kind of magic. 

Astra Lost In Space Episode 6

You know what? For once I could actually believe the show when they tell me that Charce might be the enemy after all. We're slowly moving through all our characters and the more we get to know the fewer are left for us to find as the villain and I'm even starting to wonder if maybe there's no villain after all. For all we know Aires cut the communication cause she wanted to spend time with people and make friends and it had nothing to do with needing to kill everyone. If there is a villain, I'd think it'd be a better plot twist for it to be someone who's nice or friendly instead of someone who is a loner like Ulgar. We got Ulgar and Luca's backstories this week and as it turns out both have similar stories in that their parents didn't love them just like Yunha and Luca was adopted like Funicia. As we learned Ulgar had a brother who was digging into Luca's father and ended up dead because of it and like if that wasn't a heartache in itself, it was awful watching Ulgar's father tell Ulgar that it should have been him. Luca on the other hand we learn is intersexual which means that he's got both male and female parts (since he identifies as male we're going to keep calling him as him) and because of that his father basically disowned him which explains his non-reaction last week when asked by press how he feels about losing his son. I'm still trying to figure out what the connection is between our cast and I would still guess it has to do with the parents more than the kids themselves but I can't put it together! In terms of Charce, if he is the bad guy, there was no way to plan for Aires's photographic memory but you would think that he would do the research and know which class none of the crew took if he needed one to talk about.

Krypton Season 2 Episode 9

There was a lot of fighting this week and a death that I'm heartbroken about but tbh if I had to pick one of the main characters to die it would have been Kem no matter how much I'm going to miss him cause I'd prefer Nyssa and Adam and Val to be alive! It was so bittersweet watching each and every one of our heroes try to be heroes and sacrifice themselves for others cause that's what heroes do with Nyssa volunteering to take Dru's ship and Kem manually detonating the bomb in the mines and Adam pushing Val to safety so the rocks landed on him. I'm low key worried that Adam might be paralyzed from the waist down but at the same time I feel like if he is, there's probs a fancy Kryptonian way to fix it cause I haven't seen any real disabilities on this planet. The moon was also destroyed and I feel like that might end up being a really bad thing cause don't the Kryptonians need that moon for minerals to power things? Like what if this moon getting destroyed leads to Krypton overusing it's remaining resources which leads to Krypton getting destroyed? I also still find it a little ridiculous how separate the cities of Krypton are cause you would think the moon is used for all of Krypton and not just Kandor so Dru being the dictator he is might rub the rules of say Argo City the wrong way! I still don't entirely know why we picked Kandor over Argo as our main city when in Superman canon the Els and Zods lived in Argo. Lyta spent the episode righting her wrongs and I'm excited to see her challenge Dru cause the Sagitari are still more loyal to their Primus than anyone else and Lyta's the Primus.

Next week is the finale and I'm excited to see if we end up defeating Dru or not. Doomsday was definitely killed in that explosion so he's lost another tool in his belt and with Lyta alive and well I'd be curious to know how many Sagitari switch sides. It also looks like Lobo will be back and that should be interesting cause he can definitely join Seg and Nyssa in hunting down Brainiac which I feel like will be the plot if we get a new season.

Fruits Basket (2019) Season 1 Episode 19

As I thought last week this episode was leagues better than the 2001 version of this story but honestly at this point I should stop saying that cause every episode of this show is better than the previous version. It's the fact that this version takes these deep topics and lets them play out alongside the more humorous moments while the original version tried to focus solely on the comedy aspect. Ritsu has never been a favorite of mine, in fact I thought of him as a nuisance before, but after watching this episode, my heart grew three sizes watching him. Ritsu is a precious angel that I adore and needs to be protected. I loved that Ritsu is a bit more on the transgender spectrum in this show than before cause now he's wearing women's clothes cause it makes him feel good when before he just wore them cause society allowed women to be more submissive so his constant apologizing and shyness could be overlooked. Not only does it really update Ritsu as a character but it really makes me connect to him more and I'd definitely love to follow him on his journey as we find out whether he chooses to continue dressing like a woman or if he'll choose to return to male clothing. I was also surprised to note that Ritsu is actually closer to our trio's age than Shigure's age like I thought before. I also loved that it was Mitsuru who was the heavily apologetic one this time around instead of Tohru cause I truly thought the 2001 Tohru was too passive and this one has many of the same flaws but she's more confident in herself and I love that. Her speech to Ritsu about how choosing to live shows the most bravery and that everyone needs to find their own reason to live was everything and I actually teared up when we saw Kyoko and baby Tohru cause it was the absolute sweetest moment. I also love that we basically set up a future couple between Mitsuru and Ritsu this week and they're super cute already.

I'm thinking that next week will be the Hiro episode which should be fun cause this show seems to have switched the order of Ritsu and Hiro. After that must be the Kyo true form arc but who knows cause we still have a few more Sohmas left to meet.

I love this show so much and it's hard to tell if it's just cause it allows me to stare at Ji Sung's beautiful face for 2 hours a week or if it's cause I enjoy the storylines or if it's cause I love the connection that Yo Han and Shi Young have. Maybe it's all three. Probably it's all three. The way this show uses medicine and diagnoses is just so different than any other show I've watched. It's a little unrealistic that almost every single case they get is one that is rare but like this is a tv show so of course I'm cool with it cause it makes for good watching. I knew from almost the second that the CIPA patient showed up that Yo Han had the same problem and for a second I wondered if it was too much but then as I thought about it more, it actually fits really well with the kind of person Yo Han is and why he cares so much about pain management. I also kind of like that Shi Young found out about it but girl was way out of line looking through her boss's computer the way she did. They already know so much about each other and I adore what a team they are which is probs the only reason I don't mind her snooping. I'm also glad that we finally saw what happened with Shi Young and her dad and honestly it feels less like she tried to euthanize her dad and more like she just panicked and gave up towards the end. It's why I can't stand her sister who has this constant holier-than-thou attitude all the time and I hate the way she takes it all out on Shi Young who's always too good to say anything back. When she attacked Yo Han at that celebration dinner, I was like stunned cause what kind of overprivileged snob attacks her direct boss like that? I also want to know more about Prosecutor Son cause it really feels like he's got this hatred towards Yo Han that feels extremely personal especially with how he and that nurse are like so focused on him and whether he is working again. It's weird cause on the one hand I don't care for his machinations cause I'm more interested in the day-to-day hospital cases but on the other I'm just happy that we're not going through another medical drama with hospital politics as a focus.

Hotel de Luna (8/16): Jang Man Wol is the CEO of Hotel del Luna. The hotel is situated in downtown in Seoul and has a very old appearance. She made a big error many years ago and, because of this, she has been stuck at Hotel del Luna. She is beautiful, but she is fickle, suspicious and greedy. Goo Chan Sung worked as the youngest assistant manager ever at a multinational hotel corporation. He is a sincere perfectionist. He looks level-headed, but he actually has a soft disposition. Due to an unexpected case, he begins to work as a manager at Hotel del Luna. The hotel's clientele consists of ghosts.

Wow what a plot twist. I knew that Man Wol was defs being punished and I assumed that somehow the man she loved and her best friend were killed by the princess so she killed the princess in revenge but I never thought that the man she loved would have betrayed her like that. A part of me thinks based on the way the man acted that he probs was meant to seduce her and get information of her and her clan and ended up falling in love along the way but either way he ended up allowing everyone to be killed except for her so the fact that he may or may not have been in love does not change anything and both he and the princess deserved what they got. I don't agree though with Man Wol punishing Mi Ra cause even though Mi Ra was a reincarnation, she already got punished for what she did as the princess and this reincarnation wasn't a bad person especially given how Man Wol wanted to hurt her in this life. I'm glad that Chan Sung was able to stop him in the sweetest way and I kind of love how Chan Sung isn't hiding his interest in her though until this week I don't know if I entirely believed that he liked her romantically or if he was just interested in her as a person. It's bittersweet that Man Wol wanted to protect him by leaving him behind but I have a feeling that the Goddesses will lead him back next week cause they want him to help Man Wol move on. I'm also starting to wonder if maybe Chan Sung is just a new reincarnation or something cause if Mi Ra looks the same as her previous life, wouldn't the men in Man Wol's past look the same too?

I Wanna Hear Your Song (4/32): A murder takes place. Hong Yi Young, who is a timpanist, does not remember what happened on the day of the murder. She is simple-minded and suffers from insomnia. Hong Yi Young looks for a job. She happens to meet Jang Yoon. He is bad at singing but is a pianist in an orchestra. To help with Hong Yi Young's insomnia, Jang Yoon calls her every night. They try to find the truth about the murder. Meanwhile, Nam Joo Wan is an orchestra conductor. He has charisma and showmanship. Ha Eun Joo is a violinist in the orchestra. She is arrogant.

What a totally strange show that I really didn't expect to be what it ended up being! I went into this excited to see Kim Se Jung in something new after I loved her in School 2017 and I know the synopsis says that this show is about a murder but I didn't really know that going into the show and was surprised to find it was a murder mystery after all. So far I'm really enjoying this and how confused I am with all the characters and how I can't tell who's good or bad. I think Jang Yoon's brother and Yi Young were either friends or dating a year ago and somehow he ended up dead and Yi Young with amnesia and now Jang Yoon is back to figure out what happened to him and he thinks that Yi Young was the killer. I knew from almost the start that Jang Yoon was up to something cause there was no way that he was that friendly and helpful to a random stranger and for a while I wondered if maybe he was the killer and was here to check if Yi Young remembered him but that was kind of out there anyway cause he's the male lead so there's no way he's the bad guy. I think that it might be Joo Wan who did it out of jealously for Yi Young dating someone else or maybe Eun Joo who was jealous that Joo Wan liked another girl but like part of me is low key pissed that I might be getting SLS cause I'm already more into Joo Wan than Jang Yoon and I hate SLS since I actually like my ships to sail!

Justice (16/32): Lee Tae Kyung is a star lawyer with the best win rate. He is able to win cases by using his sharp logic and intelligent speeches. He amasses power and wealth by dealing with clients who are part of the elite class. His cases are usually referred from Song Woo Yong who is the owner of a construction company. Lee Tae Kyung gets these high class criminals acquitted or at minimum receive probation. He first became a lawyer to get revenge for his younger sister, but has since become focused on money. He changes when he deals with a series of cases involving missing actresses. Meanwhile, Song Woo Yong has grown his construction company by funneling criminal cases involving wealthy people to Lee Tae Kyung. For his family, he desires even more power. He comes into conflict with Lee Tae Kyung over the cases involving missing actresses.

Ugh the countdown to getting Young Mi back alive is so real and I really really hope that they can get her back alive but I have a feeling she's going to die next week cause our heroes are so out of their league. I don't understand what Woo Yong's original plan was cause he told Hyun Woo not to hurt Young Mi so like were they wanting to keep her locked up forever? It seems as though maybe the girls were being murdered by accident rather than command and that just brings up more questions! I thought last week that Vice Chairman Tak might be killing the girls but after this week it seems like he knows about the deaths but isn't a part of it which makes me wonder if Woo Yong is literally under his foot just for money. The murdered people obviously all saw or were a part of whatever was on that USB so the question is what was on that video and is it related to Woo Yong or Tak? I do like that all of this has led to Tae Kyung trusting and working with Yeon Ah more cause they're both so intelligent that the way to win is together. I do wish that he was a bit more open with her about Woo Yong cause he all but has proof that Woo Yong killed his brother and if that's true, it's about time for Tae Kyung to step away though at the same time it does feel like he's reaching the end of his patience and I did love the way he had been playing Woo Yong before the whole stabbing thing. I'm also still thinking that Woo Yong's son has a part to play in all of this and the theory that he was in the USB video doing something is still out there. 

CDRAMA

FINISHED Hello Debate Opponent (30/30): Freshman Bai Yu studies Culture Industry Management at Yingli University. He mistakenly attends the new member selection meeting of the debate club and ends up joining the club together with Yi Xiao Xi and others. Final-year student Gao Ting Ting, who dreams of winning the national University Debate Championship, now puts all her hopes on the new team. But the teacher in charge wants to give their practice room away, and in order to keep the room, Ting Ting’s team has to place first in the university’s own debate contest. Will their team of rookies with clashing personalities be able to achieve it?

I'm feeling kinda mixed about this finale cause I felt like it might have focused a bit too much on the debate competition and not enough on our characters as people. I mean I was just as happy as the next person that our team won the final debate but like we didn't really even get to see them celebrate their win before we had to wrap up the show. I did like the twist in the end that Ting and Qingbei couldn't get up on stage so it was our younger team that had to win but at the same time I felt like we built up to this win for 30 episodes and idk it felt anticlimactic. I also love that Sun Qing and Yaoshan ended up together but I lowkey hate that we didn't even get a cheek kiss in the end. And let's not even go into Bai Yu and Xiaoxi who spent these last few episodes either arguing, barely spending time together and then all of a sudden being together with only a cheek kiss to cement their relationship. I sat through 30 episodes just to see my couples get together and I still feel unsatisfied. The best part of this chunk of episodes was surprisingly watching Bai Yu and his father reconcile and I imagine that Bai Yu will end up joining the law program but that does suck in terms of him not being able to be on the Literature debate team anymore. Overall this mixed feeling I had about the finale was pretty much how I felt about this show on a whole. I did think the idea of adding debate into a chinese college show was unique but I wish it had balanced it better with the romance and friendships it portrayed as well. I'd give this show a 7.5 / 10.

FINISHED Judo High (24/24): A story about a student who starts a judo club for the wrong reasons and has to keep it going when it blows up. There are only three important things in Yuan Fei's life - chasing the stars, chasing the stars and chasing the stars. Having devoted all his time to his hobbies, his studies bear the brunt of the damage. He tricks his childhood friend Yu Jia into organizing a judo club because holding fake competitions can help him earn enough points for graduation. Unexpectedly, the club draws the attention of interesting personalities who sign up. Furthermore, everyone's most hated and revered top-tier student Yun Qing also signs up for the club. With no choice, Yuan Fei can only welcome Yung Qing who is Yu Jia's biggest crush into the team. With the many challenges that come with running a school club, will they be able to keep it open?

I didn't particularly have a reason for wanting to check this drama out other than the fact that it popped up on my drama feed and was fully subbed so I was like well why not check it out especially since it was a 24 episode show instead of the normal 50 and ironically it sucks cause I tend to find that most 24-episode shows should have gotten the 50 while most 50-episode shows probs should have stopped at 24. This one was of those in which I definitely felt like the story needed more episodes cause it was so rushed. I'm always super down for sports dramas and I love an underdog story but with our whole cast except for Yu Jia having no experience in judo, it was a little too unrealistic for us to believe that after 24 episodes they became the best in the world. I also really shipped Yu Jia and Yuan Fei but like I was cool with Yu Jia liking Yung Qing at first cause a lot of dramas do that but I didn't love that she actually dated him and that it was Yung Qing who actually dumped her (despite her bringing it up cause it was obvious he wasn't that into her) since it makes Yuan Fei feel like too much of a rebound or second best. She took him for granted so many times and my heart broke to watch him watch Yu Jia and Yung Qing together and I feel the show should have broken them up earlier if they wanted us to really connect to Yuan Fei and Yu Jia cause we literally got like two or three episodes of them really liking each other and then we didn't even get a kiss to signify them getting together. Despite this I did enjoy this drama and the judo group and the bromance though I thought it got a bit more time than it needed. I'd give this show a 7.5 / 10!

Love Better Than Immortality (20/40): A woman from the future arrives at a fantasy-like universe to experience love for the first time. She goes by the name Chun Hua and falls into a complicated romance with two young men who are opposites like black and white.

I will never not be anything but sufficiently amused at how in pretty much every show that tackles good and evil sects it always ends up being that the good sects are nothing more than hypocrites that like to pretend that they're upright but end up being just as terrible if not more so than the so-called evil sects. At least the evil sects will out-and-out admit that they are selfish or amused when things go wrong while the good ones will do things to satisfy themselves and then pretend like it's for the greater good. I have a feeling that Qiu Yue did set up the auction just to prove that the righteous sects aren't as righteous as they say they are but everything that happened afterwards had nothing to do with him. It was the masters themselves who went around and murdered one another and even poisoned Miss Feng. I was worried that Chun Hua might actually believe Master Leng but it seems like she mostly understands what happened with the only exception being that she thinks the dandelion poison was Qiu Yue's doing. It was heartbreaking this week watching how much Qiu Yue loves Chun Hua and I think at this point he might be done trying to convince himself that it's nothing more than platonic love. He was so earnest when he talked to her and it was awful seeing him tell her that she's never truly honest with him. Can you imagine if the stuff Chun Hua did was done by a guy? We'd all be up in arms being like what a horrid guy! It's extra weird cause Qiu Yue always tends to do whatever Chun Hua wants even if he teases her at first so like why not go there with the truth and be like Miss Feng was poisoned and I'm worried? Despite all that and my affection for him, the way he interrupted the wedding was absolutely the worst and I was cringing so hard. He straight rolled up in there and ruined Chun Hua's reputation by telling everyone he hit it first. She literally cannot leave Qianyue Cavity anymore without being shamed and I'm honestly horrified. I would have been cool with him kidnapping her but man oh man.

The King's Avatar (14/40): In the multiplayer online game Glory, Ye Xiu is well known as the textbook level expert and a top-tier player. Due to a series of circumstances he was forcefully expelled out of his professional team. After leaving the pro gaming scene he resides at an Internet Café employed as one of the managers. When Glory launches the tenth server he throws himself into the game once more equipped with ten years of gaming experience, memories of the past, and an incomplete self-made weapon. His journey back to the top begins.

It's kind of hilarious how every couple of episodes we meet the captain for one of the professional leagues cause it's honestly just so sweet to see how close Ye Xiu was with all of them. It also feels like every single team other than Jiashu cares about Glory as a game and wants to have fun with it while somehow Jiashu managed to get two bosses who are all about the money. I really didn't understand their plan in terms of why they would fire the best Glory player out there but they messed up so sucks for them. It was sweet seeing that Ye Xiu realized that he's got a new team forming and I think his deal with the Jiashu bosses were for him to retire for a year so he's got that long to train the newbies and to build the umbrella weapon he wants before he can come back and win. The best though was watching Jiashu get spanked multiple times and then also prove that Ye Qiu isn't gone yet. I am a little confused about Guo's role in this show cause I really thought she would join Ye Xiu's team but like we've spent episodes in which I feel so sorry for her and how everyone she cares about is ignoring her and like most of me is still wondering why if she feels FOMO why can't she join the others? She clearly likes Glory enough to have a favorite player but not enough to play herself? She did finally figure out that Ye Xiu is Ye Qiu so at least there's that but I do have to say that her running around being all flustered around him was everything. I also know there's no romance to be had in this show but I can't help but ship Ye Xiu with pretty much every woman in his life but more than that it feels like Tang Rou might be getting a crush.

Unexpected (14/23): A manga artist, He Jie has entered into his own manga “Crystal Love” and he must complete the mission of saving the evil second female lead, turning her into a better person before he can return back to the real world. He ended up having to keep on filling up the loopholes of his own manga again and again, forming a funny love story.

Viki picked up this show and now is subbing it on a bit of a regular basis which is super exciting cause I adored this show back when I first tried to watch it and the only reason I stopped was cause the subs weren't there. 6 episodes later and I feel like we've flown through storyline after storyline and it's honestly crazy cause we're just past halfway through this drama and I feel like it's been so much longer than it has been and I just don't want the story to end. I loved watching Zi Xing and He Jie finally admit that they love each other and their kiss was everything which is why I was honestly shocked that Zi Xing found out about being in a manga in like the next episode only to then solve the problem and accept what happened after another two episodes. It makes sense cause the biggest problem with Zi Xing being in a manga isn't the fact that she is in a manga but the fact that He Jie is terrified to love Zi Xing cause he thinks that he will leave the manga as soon as Encai and Gong Cheng get together and it was such a struggle to watch cause I just want my couple to be happy. I also don't know the rules of this world cause is it possible to just refuse to leave after finishing a mission? It's a good thing that Bi Lan finished her task first cause if she manages to refuse to leave and nothing happens, then He Jie can do the same. Like he said, the real world has nothing in it for him except his fame and fortune and even then he's about to be fired while this world has friends and love for him. If he really misses the fame, he can just make a new manga for this world to adore!

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Poldark Season 5 Episode 3

So much happened this week but it's honestly so relaxing to have our whole cast back in Cornwall. I honestly prefer the wide sweeping countryside to the packed quarters in London if I'm being truthful and not just cause I prefer the smaller problems that can be solved hands-on. It still drives me mad that the commonfolk always bite the hand that feeds them rather than the hand that's punishing them. I can't believe they blamed Ross and Demelza for first not allowing children into the mines when they know well and clear how dangerous it is and then blamed them again for George's mine collapsing. Like damn pick a side. They know that George and Ross don't get along so on what planet would Ross have any say in what happens at that mine? I still find it sad that in this world Elizabeth could pass Poldark lands and mine to George and that Geoffrey Charles has to suffer with whatever George can manage to pass on cause it seems strange that Poldark lands shouldn't pass to the eldest Poldark heir when their is on. Unless of course it does all belong to Geoffrey Charles and George is only holding it until Geoffrey Charles is of age. Cause like otherwise does Geoffrey Charles even have a trust fund? Is he dirt poor man with only a good aristocratic name? I'm on Dwight's side when he commented about Ned being a terrible influence on Ross and like I said last week though part of me wants George to stay mad so that he no longer can be a thorn in the side of Ross, part of me also hopes that Dwight can cure him and make George an ally rather than a foe. I was low key hoping and praying that Hanson would catch on to what's going on with George cause then he could just leave cause he's the worst.

Next week it looks like Ross will be attempting to buy George's mine for himself and though that's probably a good idea in the long term cause I think that mine is still doing better than Ross's is right now, it'll probably cost a fortune to buy and I don't think Ross has that money to spare. It also looks like Dwight will be attempting to help George but he somehow comes upon Ned making me think that George's mental condition will get out.

Young Justice Season 3 Episode 20

Honestly this felt like such a strange episode but the only reason for this was cause it was meant to be a quiet look at the lives of our characters outside of their crime fighting and though I didn't really feel a need to follow Harper who's a character I don't really care for, the rest was really interesting. I liked that we finally got around to Victor and his Father Box conundrum but even more hilarious was how easy it was to fix him. I don't know why I expected more tbh but even taking down Metron was fairly simple. I did love the awkward hop over to where Superman was fighting just so Connor could drop a bunch of weird things to Kal and then run away to Kal's confusion. I also thought it was sweet of Violet to go find Gabrielle's family to tell them what happened to Gabrielle but again I really thought that Violet running away would have been a longer storyline but it was super sweet how much Tara loves her. I kind of adore that Tara has found so much love with Gabrielle and Artemis and that it's them who will probably pull her away from Slade and not Garfield like in most other iterations cause I adore Garfield and Perdita and I didn't want Tara to get in the middle of that. The Kaldur stuff was the least impactful cause nothing really progressed with him other than how lucky that meta-teen girl was cause I would love to live in Atlantis! It was interesting to find out that Kaldur is dating Garth now cause not only is this new information that he's bi but it's also nice to pop in and see the personal lives of our core members again. Since they've been relegated to mentors and not the main team members like in season 1 and even season 2, we've only seen them in terms of leadership and missions. 20 episodes in and we finally just figured out why Orin stepped down as Aquaman (even if we all guessed this was probs why!)

The 100 Season 6 Episode 12

Wow Russell has hardcore lost his mind hasn't he? He's pretty much giving up on the whole Primes and ruling Sanctum and trying to be good now cause he's realized it's not going to work anymore so he's pretty much just focused on getting his family to safety though I really don't know what his longterm goal is. Russell and Simone are so screwed and they don't even know it. They've placed themselves up in space all alone thinking that three of them (two in fact) can win against the hundreds on the ship? And let's not pretend that Russell or Simone are anywhere as trained as Indra or any of the others but I suppose that's a problem for next week. It was totally insane that Abby was murdered this week and I can't believe it happened just a little after Kane was killed but I should have seen it coming after she made up with Raven and basically adopted her as a daughter too. It was probably even worse for Clarke who had to pretend like nothing was wrong while seeing that her mother was murdered. Murphy and Emori switched sides again and it's getting kind of ridiculous but with Russell exasperated with everything that's happening, they made it out alive. It was a little much for them to be so torn up about Abby dying though when they barely know Abby and in fact they're closer to Clarke but like not even Clarke dying got the tears Abby did! Also Gabriel is a moron and he had the perfect chance to kill Russell earlier but he hesitated like a coward and that's how we are where we are. 

The finale is next week and I'm hoping that Russell and Simone will be overpowered and have their mind drives destroyed. It would be great it they were killed too just to avoid any further problems but I suppose it'll depend on whether our crew is trying to be better or whatever. I also assume that back in Sanctum, the other Primes will have their mind drives destroyed too and then the rest of our crew from space can come down and live peacefully on the planet.

Astra Lost In Space Episode 5

This was the fanservice episode of the bunch and I figured that was the case as soon as we landed on a planet with a beach but I didn't mind it cause aside from the weirdness, since we had a planet with no problems, we were able to focus on other stuff like visiting the parents back on Earth and developing more personal relationships. Let's start with those back on Earth and how pretty much every parent except for Aires's mom seemed to be indifferent to the fact that their kids were missing. Normally in a situation like this were your kids are missing, parents would be emotional and desperate the way Aires's mom was instead of calm and rational like the rest were. It was totally obvious that they didn't care and it makes me wonder why. Is it possible that they all knew that their kids would be sacrificed? Was it planned and Aires was just a mistake? I feel like the kids should talk about their parents more cause it's definitely starting to feel like the reason these kids are up here isn't because of them but maybe their parents. Between them there's definitely a senator, a singer, two researchers and a vice principal and that's only a few. I also doubt that Ulgar is actually the traitor afterall cause I have a feeling that he just hates Luca's dad cause he seemed chill until Luca revealed who his dad was. It also just feels too early for the traitor to be revealed and on another note it Ulgar being the traitor just feels like low hanging fruit cause like oh wow the broody kid who doesn't want to make friends was the bad guy all along how original.

Krypton Season 2 Episode 8

OMG who called it episodes ago that there was no way that Lyta died??! I was totally fooled into believing that this show would kill off Seg's love interest cause they went so many episodes without a hint of her and now we find out that she's alive and that it was just a clone that was killed. I honestly have so many questions about this cause I didn't even know Krypton had cloning abilities but like they must and they must be fairly common since after Lyta explained it, no one questioned where a clone came from. Also I loved that it was a Black Mercy that was keeping Lyta trapped cause is it even a show about Kryptonians without one?? The most ironic thing was that it was Dru himself who ended up getting Lyta out cause his head science person did warn him that taking the Black Mercy toxin would ruin the effect the Black Mercy had on it's host and he was like whatever which allowed Lyta the chance she needed. Part of me is a little sad cause I was enjoying Seg and Nyssa as a team and now that Lyta is back the dynamic will change but Jor El is already born and named so there's no going back! It's gotten to the point where it feels like Nyssa and Lyta are sister-wives and really why not have a three-way poly relationship? I wish I understood the way this world viewed marriage and children better cause I know a binding is basically marriage but does the wife take the husband's name? Like if Lyta gets married to Seg will she be an El? Or does having a child through the bonding cortex mean that you're married? Like is Nyssa technically Seg's wife in the eyes of Krypton after Jor was born? 

Okay wow so maybe all my questions about Superman's lineage mean nothing now cause according to Adam, Kal-El doesn't exist anymore and honestly that makes sense cause Krypton has completely muddled up canon in order to tell it's own story. Dru has complete control over Doomsday and that's a nightmare of it's own tbh but he himself is only human so all they need is one clear shot and boom Dru is dead.

FINISHED Agents Of SHIELD Season 6 Episode 12 and Episode 13

What an insane season finale! I was worried that we had too much to deal with and not enough time especially when the Chronicoms returned cause I really thought they would be a season 7 problem and in a way they were. The writing was so incredibly well done that the season 6 to season 7 transition is going to be flawless and I'm already so excited for the final season of my favorite superhero show on tv. Once we found out that the sword Sarge had could kill Izel, things became much clearer because like I had said last week I had no idea how we would be able to win with Izel being so much stronger than our heroes. For a second I really thought that May had been killed and we were about to lose YoYo and Daisy's powers had no effect on Sarge but luckily May is a complete badass to the end and was able to kill Izel and Mack was able to take down Sarge. Of course the comedy was still on point cause I loved everything with Deke and Fitz and Simmons after they realized that Deke was stealing tech to build a company but it turned into a really sad moment when Deke revealed that he was lonely and isolated and hurt by everything that happened. I really believe if shit hadn't of hit the fan that this would be what would have gotten through to Fitz and I believe that it would have strengthened their relationship. I really wish I understood what was happening at the end of the episode but it looks like Jemma and Fitz have been time traveling of a sort and with Enoch's help they've become more high-tech and badass than before. We have our full team again now with a Monolith Flint and a Coulson LMD and I'm honestly super into this more than the idea that Sarge would have survived cause this is our Coulson who's mind is in this upgraded LMD. 

Next season should be the fight against the Chronicoms and I can't wait cause they'll definitely be a fantastic final villain with their high intelligence!

Fruits Basket (2019) Season 1 Episode 18

KISA! KISA! KISA! I've been waiting for this episode for what feels like forever and it's finally here! Kisa has been one of my favorite zodiacs since the first time I watched this show and she's still the most precious little angel. Kisa breaks my heart because I can't imagine being bullied the way she was and how much pain and torture she must have gone through. Of course if you're treated the way she was, you wouldn't want to talk anymore. It didn't help that Kisa's mom was one of the few that tried to reject their child though she clearly tried harder than Momiji's mom even before she was awoken by Tohru's sweetness. I'd like to imagine that she'd be much more accepting of her daughter now and with Kisa being able to stand strong and be brave enough not only to start speaking again but to return to school where all her bullies lay, Kisa would be able to love herself a little more and stand up for herself in the face of all those who oppose her. We also saw a bit more of young Yuki who went through a similar period of being unable to speak after everything that Akito put him through but like Kisa he's trying to be brave and do things that he would never like running for student council president. It's really interesting how the show is so heavily focused on Yuki this season when I feel like I don't remember the 2001 anime being so Yuki-centric but maybe that's cause they're saying the Kyo drama for next season? Either way it's a little sad cause Kyo's obviously my favorite and his reduced screen time is a little unfortunate.

I think we meet Ritsu next week and I remember hating that 2001 episode but this show has taken filler and made it more interesting so I'm keeping an open mind about when lesson Tohru might learn after seeing Ritsu and how his submissiveness actually harmed him.

What Dramas Am I Watching This Week?

So here's what I'm watching this week! Of course the list is split by country and episodes I've seen so far are written below! KDRAMA

Doctor John (8/32): In a refreshing take on the genre, “Doctor John” will portray the doctors’ search for the cause of their patients’ mysterious pain as a thrilling chase, almost like a detective hunting down the perpetrator behind an unsolved crime. Cha Yo Han is a genius anesthesiologist, who is also the youngest professor at his medical school. The brilliant doctor goes by the nickname “10 Seconds,” referring to his ability to figure out his patients in the 10 seconds that it takes for them to enter an examination room and walk to their seat. Kang Shi Young is a legendary anesthesiologist, who was always at the top of her class throughout medical school. The talented doctor inherited her skills from her cool-headed, rational mother, while she inherited her empathy, listening skills, and warm bedside manner from her father.

We learned a lot more about our characters this week and as much as I wanted the show to move on from the idea of euthanasia and focus on new patients, it was important to bring up the past so that we could find out more about our mains. Yo Han's thing is that he's so emphatic towards his patients that all he cares about is making sure they're not in pain whether that means breaking the law or not. It's why he euthanized that patient three years ago and why he diagnosed the MMA fighter this week even though the fighter wanted to die. Tbh the whole thing from the past was a little insane and I think the truth is not what we're told from either the nurse or Yo Han's POV. That nurse seems angry with Yo Han in a personal way which makes me think that the child that she was visiting last week might have been one of the two children that patient kidnapped and murdered and I bet she forced him to sign up for that clinical trial cause she wanted to prolong his pain so when Yo Han stepped in, it infuriated her. I don't know how that lawyer fits in yet but it's possible the other kidnapped child was related to him. I also liked how we learned that literally everyone in Shi Young's family works at this hospital from her mother who's chief of anesthesiology to her aunt and sister who work in anesthesiology to her uncle who's the director of the hospital. I still don't know what the full story is with her father who is the reason why Shi Young couldn't practice medicine for so long but it feels like he got into an accident with Shi Young and she couldn't treat him so she tried to kill him instead to save him from suffering but he survived and ended up in a vegetable state. I'm assuming that the sister blames Shi Young for what happened but it's so weird cause if I was Shi Young regardless of if I could do anything or not, I don't think any part of me would be like let me stop my dad's heart to help.

Hotel de Luna (6/16): Jang Man Wol is the CEO of Hotel del Luna. The hotel is situated in downtown in Seoul and has a very old appearance. She made a big error many years ago and, because of this, she has been stuck at Hotel del Luna. She is beautiful, but she is fickle, suspicious and greedy. Goo Chan Sung worked as the youngest assistant manager ever at a multinational hotel corporation. He is a sincere perfectionist. He looks level-headed, but he actually has a soft disposition. Due to an unexpected case, he begins to work as a manager at Hotel del Luna. The hotel's clientele consists of ghosts.

Man Wol is head over heels for Chan Sung and it's kind of funny cause she's trying to fight it so hard. I still live for her and how everything she does is such a big mood tbh and for once in my life I'm watching a female lead in a drama and wishing that I owned everything she wears! Where has this stylist been all my life? Why does every other female lead dress like she's blind and can't afford her way out of a paper bag when female leads can dress like this instead?? I wonder if every outfit is supposed to be an homage to actresses like she did Audrey Hepburn from Breakfast at Tiffany's this week. I debated last week who Chan Sung was the reincarnation of and whether Man Wol was even in love with Chung Myung or if was Yeon Woo in a plot twist but I think after this week it's pretty clear that she's in love with Chung Myung and that Chan Sung is his reincarnation cause the show keeps paralleling scenes of Man Wol and Chan Sung with scenes of Man Wol and Chung Myung. I also wondered if maybe the reincarnation of the princess into Chan Sung's ex meant something like maybe that was his heaven-sent soulmate and that Man Wol would interrupt it since she's not supposed to be alive now but the ex stole money from Chan Sung and doesn't seem like a good person so I have a feeling it's not exactly true. This show is much sadder than I expected it to be tbh cause it has this strange melancholy feel to the whole thing but maybe that's cause unlike A Korean Odyssey where we have a demon fall in love with a human, this is a love story with ghosts and of course there's going to be a tragic end cause the whole point of the show is to have Man Wol move on from this world.

Justice (12/32): Lee Tae Kyung is a star lawyer with the best win rate. He is able to win cases by using his sharp logic and intelligent speeches. He amasses power and wealth by dealing with clients who are part of the elite class. His cases are usually referred from Song Woo Yong who is the owner of a construction company. Lee Tae Kyung gets these high class criminals acquitted or at minimum receive probation. He first became a lawyer to get revenge for his younger sister, but has since become focused on money. He changes when he deals with a series of cases involving missing actresses. Meanwhile, Song Woo Yong has grown his construction company by funneling criminal cases involving wealthy people to Lee Tae Kyung. For his family, he desires even more power. He comes into conflict with Lee Tae Kyung over the cases involving missing actresses.

Jesus 12 episodes later and I'm FINALLY understanding the big picture of this show. I was worried for a bit cause it felt like there was multiple storylines going on that didn't intersect but we're finally getting enough information to piece it all together. I think Vice Chairman Tak is a sociopath who's been paying Woo Yong money in order to pick and choose victims from Jang Entertainment who have no family to report them so that Tak can murder them and in return the money that Woo Yong gets funds his construction projects and he protects Tak by threatening or killing anyone who looks for those missing actresses. Tae Kyung's brother was killed because of something he saw and I'm guessing it was a video of Tak killing or raping or whatever he's doing with those actresses he kidnaps. I'm also assuming that Woo Yong felt guilty about that "innocent" death (as if any of those deaths weren't innocent ugh) so he pretended to be on Tae Kyung's side in order to control him later. I was wondering for a while why Tae Kyung wasn't more crazy about figuring our what happened to his brother so I was glad he was able to explain it to Young Mi cause it definitely helped. He's struggling with deciding whether he wants to give up his easy life in order to fight something that he knows will have no end in sight. I kind of low key love his weird relationship with Young Mi cause it's like they're not friends after what he did to her but they're not enemies either and man oh man everyone in this murder chain really screwed up when they picked her cause for as much as everyone (prosecution and Woo Yong) were following her around, no one saw the amount of times Young Mi and Tae Kyung talked? After she disappears, he's going to be a thorn in their sides!

FINISHED Partners For Justice Season 2 (32/32): In crime and in life, all contact leaves a trace. There is no perfect crime and our hero and heroine have the ultimate cooperation. This drama continues the tale of a forensic scientist and a prosecutor who make the best of teams.

I want to be angry with the open ending we got for the season and I'm beyond furious that neither Gal or Noh got the punishment they deserved but I think the setup is pretty fun for next season if there is one and cause of that I'm not as angry as I would have been. For sure this cliffhanger was much better than the one last year. I loved the return of Lee Yi Kyung as the police officer he played last season even though it didn't mean that much in terms of story cause it's just nice to see when actors remember how much they gained by being a part of a previous season. I wonder if he'd come back for next season cause I assumed the reason he probs skipped this season was to film Eulachacha Waikiki 2 and since I haven't heard anything about that show getting another season, maybe he'll be free to come back cause I definitely enjoyed having him as Eun Sol's police officer. The guy who replaced him had no character or personality and with our cast members dropping like flies, we need all the characters we could have! I do hate that Ji Han had to resign but I kind of love the idea of him opening a firm with Jan Cheol and Investigator Yang through which I'm sure he's going to focus entirely on taking down Gal and Noh and their chain of command and as we saw at the end Eun Sol also wants that but she will be doing it from within the office which does suck cause I want her working with Ji Han. I just hope that whoever ends up joining her in the office isn't a Gal or Noh lackey. Overall I did enjoy this season a bit more than the previous one but I'd still give it a 8 / 10!

FINISHED Pied Piper (16/16): Every day on the job is tense, dangerous and possibly lethal! But the dangerous situations are diffused without using force by the expert negotiator Joo Sung Chan, who leads the police department’s negotiation task force. The team handles the most dangerous, volatile and high-risk situations that jeopardize the lives of innocent people. Hostage crises, terrorist threats, and other major catastrophes await Sung Chan, Yeo Myung Ha and the other highly skilled team of negotiators when they come into work every day. Son Hee Sung is a thorn in their side as an aggressive broadcast journalist who tries to report on the many coverage-worthy events.

After finishing Signal I was in the mood for another investigation/police drama so I jumped into this one cause it sounded like something I would love but also different enough that I wouldn't be bored and honestly I loved this drama so much. It reminded me a lot more of something like Mad Dog than any of those police dramas I've watched before and that's a positive obviously cause Mad Dog is one of my favorite dramas of all time. I thought it was super creative that the show followed negotiators rather than police cause it focused more on the crime scene rather than the investigation afterwards which was unique and fun. I loved that there was someone pulling the strings in the background and that everything was so well connected and written. Things were hinted at much earlier in the show but either we ignored or assumed that it didn't mean anything until they were revealed later. I loved that the real Pied Piper was actually Hee Sung all along and that we had gotten to know him so well as an ally before the plot twist came about and we realized who he was. The Crisis Negotiation Team were pretty awesome though I do wish some of the side characters had a bit more screen time so we could like them more but Sung Chan and Myung Ha's dynamic more than made up for it. I do wish that their romance which was pretty heavily hinted at was a bit more overt and I wasn't really a fan of how Sung Chan ended the show with leaving the Crisis Team and being on his own again cause it felt like instead of showing his personal growth he just returned to who he was before when the person he became would have stuck around with the Crisis team in my opinion. Despite that I really really enjoyed this show with it's precise writing, great character motivations, believable villains and shocking plot twits so I'd give it a 9.5 / 10!

FINISHED Signal (16/16): Fifteen years ago, a female child was kidnapped on the way from school. At that time, Park Hae Yeong, who was an elementary school student, witnessed the girl being taken away. A few days later, the girl was found dead, and detectives couldn't find the culprit. As time went by, Hae Yeong started distrusting the police. Fifteen years later, Hae Yeong is now a police officer and criminal profiler. One day, he finds a walkie-talkie that allows him to get in contact with Detective Lee Jae Han who is in the past. Police officers Hae Yeong, Jae Han and Cha So Hyun then set out on a journey to solve cold cases.

I'm usually not into dramas where this is no romance or even a hint of romance but I was in the mood for a police drama and I liked the synopsis for this so I was like why not check it out and after finishing it I have to say that it was absolutely incredible. I cried so many times during this drama like hard sobbing tears and I loved each and every case. Hae Young was an awesome character and I loved the chip on his shoulder. The Cold Case Squad was all fun too and I loved that Soo Hyun and Hae Young never had any romantic moments cause I was worried they would based on some stuff the show hinted at cause she was like ten years older than him and that's too much of an age gap for my taste. I do admit that I wish the radio had a bigger role in this show cause despite making a difference here and there I feel like Hae Young figured out a lot of cases in the future with little help from the past and the few times things did change it was cause Hae Young helped Jae Han a little. It's cause of this that I wish that the dual timeline was used more though I suppose that it did help in bringing Soo Hyun and Hae Young back to life after they died in one timeline but even that was a little ruined for me cause Soo Hyun died so early on in the show that I knew she would come back since she's the female lead. I also thought the ending was a bit too muddled but I liked that Jae Han ended up alive though I wished that after the kidnapping in 2001 everything would have been fixed cause how much sweeter would it have been if Soo Hyun and Jae Han basically mentored Hae Young? Overall despite what it sounds like I did really enjoy myself and the cases that we studied so much so that I'd give this show a 9 / 10!

CDRAMA

FINISHED Go Go Squid (41/41): It is late evening when Han Shang Yan walks into an internet cafe. While helping her cousin watch the shop, Tong Nian catches a glimpse of Han Shang Yan and immediately falls for him. She is usually brave, outgoing and has tens of thousands of followers from singing covers online, but she fumbles whenever she encounters him. She is used to interviews, but can't even utter a word when speaking to him. He is cold, hard to reach and not the type of guy to be interested in girls, but Tong Nian's unique personality and her persistent ways to get close to him begin to catch his attention.

I can't believe that we already reached the end cause I feel like I just started watching this show but I guess that's the thing with releasing like 2 episodes a day cause even with a large episode count, the show flies by! I really had a ton of fun with this drama, a lot more than I expected tbh cause I usually struggle with modern cdramas and their lack of believable couples and this drama started out that way too but changed into one of the cutest cdramas with a precious main couple. I adored the main leads and I was glad that the show knew where the relationship wasn't working which allowed the characters to actually talk about the ups and downs of their relationships. It was super sweet that Shangyan and Nian ended up married at the end and I also have to say that the gossipy K&K boys were one of the best things about this show cause they were hilarious and adorable and I loved how much they shipped Nian and Shangyan! The only thing I would say as a negative is that the show focused a bit too much on Team Solo so like even though we fell in love with the K&K kids, the focus was on the older generation which felt really unfortunate. This leads to my second negative which was that I felt like the show didn't know how to balance the cute with the gaming. 41 episodes later and I still can't tell you what CTF is! The fact that CTF was so confusing to follow led to long speeches about working hard and long training montages with voiceover but then the competitions lasted five seconds and were so anticlimactic. I assume it's some sort of hacking simulation but seriously who knows. I also loved Xiao Mi and Yaya but them getting together did also feel a bit anticlimactic cause we never actually saw either of them really confess their feelings and all of a sudden they're together without actually saying that they like each other. Overall though I did love this drama and I'd definitely give it a 10 / 10!

Love And Destiny (8/60): Ten thousand years ago, Jiu Chen, known as the god of war, fell into a deep slumber after sealing away the demon lord. Ling Xi accidentally wakes him from his sleep and they fall in love. It is discovered that Ling Xi was born with an evil miasma that can help the demon lord break free and allow the demon tribe to rise to power. Jiu Chen refuses to kill an innocent and tries to change Ling Xi's fate. Through the encouragement of Jiu Chen, Ling Xi who was once innocent and naive transforms into a brave leader in a fight against evil.

I keep feeling like I missed something whenever the politics of the Mountain Spirit Tribe come up and I wondered if maybe it was me and my tendency to tune out for politics but from what I seen in other recaps, everyone is feeling this way. I can't decide if they're supposed to be the bad guys or not. From what I can gather Jing Xiu (who I assumed might be the second male lead at first but actually might be the villain cause who knows) was part of the Black Birds who tried to overthrow the King so the King murdered all the Black Birds and then his daughter Ling Yue overthrew him and placed him in the Abyss causing Jing Xiu to become her loyal councilor. Somewhere during this she had a baby with who looks to be a Celestial and lost her so she adopted Bao Qing but now she thinks that Jing Xiu lied about the baby dying cause he has the same longevity knot that she gave her baby. We also learned that Bao Qing is in love with Jing Xiu but the Queen doesn't trust him anymore so she's like no you can't marry him which is obviously going to cause Bao Qing to switch sides and meanwhile Jing Xiu doesn't trust the Queen anymore cause he thought she killed her father but he actually was just in the Abyss. Most of this episode was packed with Mountain Spirit drama but we do get a little in the Celestial Realm. Lightning God is still trying to make Jiu Chen the bad guy even though all he's doing is trying to protect the Yuan family from being exiled for having submitted to the Demon King and Jiu Chen went to visit the Demon King and found out that he's slowly waking up which I guess is a way for the Celestials to focus on something else.

Love Better Than Immortality (16/40): A woman from the future arrives at a fantasy-like universe to experience love for the first time. She goes by the name Chun Hua and falls into a complicated romance with two young men who are opposites like black and white.

It was a little hard to watch Chun Hua act so silly and be so in love with Xiao Bai this week for multiple reasons. Not only am I much more fascinated with Qiu Yue as a character, the chemistry between him and Chun Hua is stronger and he's also the male lead as evidenced by the poster! I'm also sure that he's the programmed love interest though Chun Hua was still dizzy when she first awoke so she doesn't remember seeing him first. I also feel like Qiu Yue being responsible for murdering Hua Xiaolei's family should probably be a bigger deal than it was but like Chun Hua isn't Xiaolei so I'm callously like oh well and though Chun Hua wants to be angry with him too I have a feeling she's not touched by the Hua family's deaths either. After all she cared nothing for the Hua patriarch and was just like I'm going to run away with Xiao Bai and refuse to even talk to my dad about why he's against my marriage. Honestly I think she's lowkey interacting with this world like it's a video game. I don't entirely mind that Qiu Yue and Chun Hua are still trying to think of each other in terms of family cause I think both of them really care for each other but don't want to acknowledge it so they're trying to fit their feelings into neat boxes. Qiu Yue's mom was betrayed by Xiao Bei's father so he hates the idea of romantic love and Chun Hua is so sure that Xiao Bei is her soulmate that she refuses to look elsewhere. This is why I'm hoping that Qiu Yue stays away for a little while cause absence makes the heart grow fonder and as we saw how excited and then disappointed Chun Hua was at the ice pearl lighting up and making her think that Qiu Yue was here only for him not to be around, she's starting to miss him and that will lead to her love growing stronger.

The King's Avatar (8/48): In the multiplayer online game Glory, Ye Xiu is well known as the textbook level expert and a top-tier player. Due to a series of circumstances he was forcefully expelled out of his professional team. After leaving the pro gaming scene he resides at an Internet Café employed as one of the managers. When Glory launches the tenth server he throws himself into the game once more equipped with ten years of gaming experience, memories of the past, and an incomplete self-made weapon. His journey back to the top begins.

I wanted to check this drama out pretty much cause of Yang Yang and my love for him. I never got into Love O2O the way others did because I just couldn't stand the female lead and while Go Go Squid had a gaming/tech aspect to it but I also never understood CTF so I went into this drama not sure what to expect especially after I heard that there wouldn't be any romance in this show and that's usually the part of gaming dramas that I like. So far I do like the main game a lot more than I thought I would cause Glory is like a lot of other multiplayer games out here in the real world so I can understand the way it works and that helps with watching competitions cause I actually know what to root for! I also love Yang Yang's character Ye Xiu cause he's the perfect mix of serious and silly, a heartthrob when he's playing Glory but such a dork in the real world. I'm loving all the characters we've met so far and that other than the head of Jiashi and Sun Xiang, all of them are good people who just love playing Glory. I fell head over heels in love with Shao Tian from like almost the first minute I met him and though it sucks I have a feeling that he's one of the few characters we met that won't join Ye Xiu whenever he makes his team cause Shao Tian's captain Wen Zhou is a good man too and I like Lan Yu. I say this cause I assume that since Ye Xiu got kicked out of Jiashi that he will create his own league at some point and we're slowly building a team by introducing characters left and right. So far we've got Tang, Bao, and Yifan and I'm thinking Guo will join too at some point which should make up a full team for Ye Xiu.
