Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?
Oh good god no this is not what I wanted from Legends. I was really not a fan of the pregnancy storyline but I hate addiction storylines even more. Constantine is already breaking my heart and we haven't even gotten started down this horrible dark and twisted path he's about to take. I want to imagine that cause this is not only an Arrowverse show but Legends Of Tomorrow which can barely do anything dark that the whole thing will be fixed in two seconds through what I assume will be an intervention episode but I could also see Legends reaching into it's Arrowverse routes and going the super dramatic route to make this the reason that Zari and Constantine break up. It'll be a toss up as to which road the show follows but it'll only really matter if Zari 2.0 is on screen again. I do have to say that part of me thought that Constantine would get the Fountain through sheer want to protect Spooner and the kid but it's more accurate that he chose what was quick and easy over what was hard. Meanwhile Mick apparently has 43 eggs in his head and it looks like we won't be keeping Gus for much longer cause as it turns out his species' lifespan is only 30 days long which means that by the end of the season he'll be gone.
Hmm so we're taking a few weeks off so the promo for when we come back in August doesn't actually show us much other than the fact that some of the Legends will be stuck trying to win a bowling game in order to escape some aliens which is honestly hilarious but I'm still thinking about Constantine so maybe it's a bit too soon to enjoy some laughs.
So the finale for this show aired this week and honestly I'm done with this whole season and maybe even these reviews going forward cause I don't love that I'm constantly shitting on this show when someone might be looking for a real review of this show! I don't know if I'll keep watching this show on my own or if I'll drop it completely but that's a next season problem! What I do know is that I was hype for Eobard's return though I have no idea how he's back or where he came from or at what point in the timeline he's from but also part of me will forever be bitter at the fact that he's always got Harrison Wells' face cause for the hundredth millionth time he's not a Wells and if the show forever wanted him to be played by Tom Cavanagh then they should have just made him a Wells back in season 1! I also want to say that I didn't care for the vow renewal at the end but I loved hearing Jordan Fisher sing and it's funny cause he's heads and toes better than almost all of the Arrowverse cast who've sung before. All's well that ends well huh.
I've honestly never been more disappointed that this show takes place in Smallville rather than Metropolis like I thought it would than this week cause it's really not doing much to show us that small towns are worth living in. I felt for the Cushings so hard and Lana's speech about how these people have always been her family and that she never had a back up plan really hit me. I imagine that the whole thing will be solved with Lois's story but I also don't love that so much focus was given to Lois struggling to lie. Why can't the story be as simple as Edge was another Lex Luthor wannabe and found a lot of X-Kryptonite in the mines of Smallville and used them to experiment on the Smallville residents to give them powers and brainwash them? What's so much more unbelievable about that than the fact that he was a Kryptonian trying to place Kryptonians into the minds of the people he experimented on? I was right in guessing that he did something to take on all the Kryptonians but it looks like somehow he became the Eradicator himself which is interesting and leaves me wondering how Clark is planning on beating him. Despite this being a superhero show on paper the fights and action are secondary to the characters so we still don't have much to base our Superman's badassness on yet.
We're taking a few weeks off so the next episode will be airing in August and it looks like maybe Lois and Clark might actually tell the people of Smallville the real truth or who Clark is which seems like the worst idea cause nothing the show has shown me so far makes me think that these people are trustworthy enough. It's also possible that the twins are in danger which is why Lois breaks down.
I didn't actually realize that there was a fourth Todoroki sibling who also had the white hair and ice powers that the mom had but who died. Beyond wondering what happened to him, what I'm really curious about is the fact that all the kids seem to have gained everything from Rei rather than Endeavor which is interesting cause it clearly shows us that Rei's genes are more dominant! I also like the fact that the show isn't exactly glossing over how abusive Endeavor was or how messed up the Todoroki family was but at the same time I can't help but feel like it's a little too put on. Maybe it's cause I'm comparing this whole thing to Fruits Basket which had one of the best depictions of abuse in media almost ever but I can't help but feel like this show should have either skipped the abuse entirely if it couldn't give it the attention it deserved or really dug into it in a better way. I am starting to wonder though if whatever this next arc will be that Deku claims will change everything will end with Endeavor dying too cause I got a weird foreshadowing vibe from him that something really dark was going to happen.
