Young Justice Season 3 Episode 17
I should have known that the new team Garfield created would be called The Outsiders cause duh the title of this season but that didn't stop me from hoping that it might be called The Teen Titans though I suppose that the DC App already has the Titans show so having two shows with Titans might be too much or too confusing for some. I am digging this team though and I love the parallels to Season 1 when our first batch of sidekicks created Young Justice although it made me laugh when Connor realized where Garfield's speech was going and rolled his eyes. I'm super down with this cause hopefully it allows the show to emphasize the characters we have been missing from the first half of the season and to give characters like Cassie actual screen time so we can get to know them better. Now it seems we have four separate teams working independently but also still together: the League itself, the covert Young Justice team, Batman and co's secret team and the Outsiders who work in the public eye. I do kind of wish that I had waited for this half of the season to drop fully before watching cause I've been noticing that I struggle a bit to remember what happened before as Young Justice has always been a binge show for me in past seasons. I did remember that Batman and co who dropped out of the League did it so they could work around the UN charters and were actually still secretly working with the League but I couldn't remember exactly what that mission everyone was talking about at the end of the episode. Despite that I do think the arc for Garfield this season has been really well done. I remember when the season started I was confused about the weird little scenes we'd get with Garfield talking about his tv show and the way it's evolved into him being so passionate about meta-human trafficking and meta-kids is just so crash.
The 100 Season 6 Episode 9
This episode was amazing and totally unexpected! I thought that we'd get a Clarke and Bellamy alone in the woods episode which would have been fun but probably wouldn't have moved the plot along the way that this episode did by focusing on Octavia's redemption and the resurrection of Kane. I'm low key so pissed that Kane is dead cause I loved his character so much despite how little I liked what he did all of last season and I thought that putting Kane in a new body would be a way to keep him around with Henry Ian Cusik who seemed tired of this show but of course Kane wouldn't be okay with what happened so much so that he literally killed himself when he didn't have to. A part of me thinks that the actual moral thing would have been to keep the body and honor the sacrifice of Ethan but just not use the chip again but I get where Kane was coming from. I know he was attempting to pass his morality to Raven during this episode but she is no where near how much of a leader Kane is. Raven has this condescending holier than thou attitude when talking to others about moral choices while Kane is more earnest and tries to lift you up rather than shove you down. I was glad though that Indra was awakened this week and I feel now that we might have awoken pretty much everyone who's a main character. Octavia went through magic mental stuff where she realized that she doesn't like Blood Reina and doesn't want to be her so she's going to try to return to being the person she was before. I agree with the idea that redemption isn't about deserving and I think if she puts all her energy towards just doing good that eventually others will see it too. I mean if Kane can become all the goodness in the world after how sketch he was in season 1 and Bellamy can return to the good side after being Pike's right hand in season 2, so can Octavia. I'm also thrilled that Clarke is back in control of her body and heading to find Octavia and Gabriel with hopefully Bellamy on his way too. Fingers crossed Clarke gets Josephine out next week!
Wow that promo was soooo full of information wasn't it. *Rolls eyes* The barrier between Clarke and Josephine's minds is disappearing which means that Clarke is dying so we have to get Josephine out next week right? I just really hope that we don't end up with a situation in which Clarke and Josephine share the same body and mind and like Clarke ends up in control but with Josephine whispering in the back of her head for the rest of the season though with the way this show works, I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up like that.
Astra Lost In Space Episode 2
This week's episode wasn't as fun as last week's but I did like the reveal at the end where it turned out that one of our crew destroyed the communicator and I really have no idea who did it cause we're just meeting all our new cast members but tbh I wouldn't be all that surprised if it ended up being Aires who did it cause she wanted an adventure with friends. It would also be funny if Funicia did it as part of the test these kids are going through on the orders of their teacher. The planet we visited was actually pretty low stakes but I was wondering the whole time if they should be more careful with eating the plants cause it's not like they know if they're inedible. At the same time I was like that could make a fun space episode though if everyone but like one or two got sick and it was like oh no what if someone dies?? Unfortunately or fortunately depending on how you look at it, Zack ended up building a machine that actually tells you if food is edible so that really helps. I'll be interested to see what other planets we end up visiting and if any of them have aliens that can talk on it cause it would be fun to see an episode where they have to fight aliens for their ship or something. We got to know Quitterie a bit more this week by learning that she grew up alone with servants which tends to be the backstory in a lot of rich Japanese stories but it works which is why it's used so often. I liked that Funicia and Quitterie ended up reconciling by the end and it was sweet that Funicia did all this to get a star flower like Quitterie had on her headband.
Krypton Season 2 Episode 5
There's no way Lyta is dead cause duh she's basically the female lead. It looked like Jax slit above and to the left of the jugular probs just to send a message to Dru and make him think that he got his mother killed but like in actuality I can't see her actually killing Lyta. Also what a goddamned terrible plan. If Krypton watches Lyta die on camera cause Dru put his tyranny above his family, they're not going to be like well damn Dru because all their anger will go to Jax who was savage in her murder and Dru will get sympathy. Dru also brought up a point this week about Lyta and how he didn't have to do much reconditioning to get Lyta to join his side and though it might have just been a way to mess with Seg, I have a feeling there's more truth in that than lie. Of course he did wipe some stuff away but it obviously didn't make her into a mindless drone like that servant Seg ran into last week so most of her personality was obviously allowed to stay. Maybe it's just me hoping for it cause I ranted enough last week about how I hate stuff like this cause it takes about all the juicy storytelling beats but seriously wouldn't the show want to play in this field of needing redemption or is that only saved for Nyssa? I suppose it helps with her character that she actually didn't know the oxygen tanks were poisoned and honestly other than Jax, I have a feeling that the others wouldn't have a problem with forgiving Nyssa cause it's not like she's not being blackmailed by the loss of her baby. I assume that she's heading back to Kandor and with Seg and Jaina and Dev there, maybe they can all work together to take down Dru though with what Jax did this week I do wonder if they might thinking killing Jax is a better option.
The promo was weird cause it seemed to have stuff from the rest of the season rather than just next week's episode making me wonder if this was supposed to be a midseason finale. According to google it's not and there's a new episode next week so who knows what that was about... Lobo looks like he'll be coming back and so will Doomsday. Other than that a lot more fighting and I'm hoping that our characters will reconnect at some point.
Agents Of SHIELD Season 6 Episode 9
This was such a strange episode to watch cause it felt like a finale with the way multiple previous storylines concluded but at the same time like we were moving towards a climax only to falter at the last minute. Izel is definitely and for sure not dead because duh we haven't even gotten to know her yet. She clearly climbed into Davis's body or attached to it somehow which means that she must be a bat creature too except since she's the creator maybe she has more control over her host body making them less zombie-like. I do have to admit that if this is true it will feel like a bit of a retread of the Hive story but like not as exciting cause I adored Ward (villain or hero or anti-hero) but Davis is fun as a comedy/side character not a main. I also have a theory that Sarge is actually a bat creature too or whatever parasite Izel turns out to be but maybe he doesn't know it because it would explain why Sarge had Coulson's body down to the DNA and apparently no memories as he revealed this week. He and Izel sounded like they were having more of a couple spat than an argument between enemies especially since Izel didn't sound like she wanted Sarge dead while he did. May shot and killed Sarge at the end of the episode but regardless of whether he's a bat creature or not I don't think he's dead cause I don't think this is a good conclusion to the Sarge storyline and all the questions we have about him despite me not liking that Clark Gregg played him. Despite all that I was thrilled at the reunions we got. Fitz and Mack almost made me cry but Fitz and Deke were absolutely hilarious cause Deke was just so excited and Fitz was like what the hell is going on while Jemma is low key messing with him being like oh yeah you wanted Deke to call you Bobo. YoYo and Mack are together again and I'm actually super down with Deke and Snowflake though I was hoping Jaco would stick around too.
Oh it looks like Izel is out and about in her normal body so like what was all that weirdness we got with Davis at the end? Maybe she can detach herself from a new host body? I also really hope that Sarge didn't climb into May's body cause ew but I also wonder if Izel hopped into May's body instead and killed Sarge before leaving it which is why May can't remember killing Sarge. This is starting to tread into LMD territory more than Hive but like I'm down cause it ups the stakes!
Fruits Basket (2019) Season 1 Episode 15
I really enjoyed this week's episode of Fruits Basket which was interesting cause I've been finding myself enjoying this version a lot more than the 2001 one cause it's much more serious than the original which is why when the comedy comes out I tend to be into it a lot more. There's still this melancholy feeling dancing along, just out of our reach, making scenes with the younger trio feel a bit like a change is coming. I don't mean this in any particularly negative fashion but just in the way that all relationships evolve. Tohru or either of the boys might find themselves feeling romantic emotions rather than platonic though once again I have a feeling it'll be Kyo who falls in love while Yuki stays in a big brother role. There is just something in the way that Yuki is never shy or hesitant around Tohru like Kyo is that makes me feel this way. I did adore the hilarity of them falling down that cliff and turning into animals only to fight while Tohru's sitting there looking like a complete mess in another showing of excellent animation cause you could practically feel how flustered she was. I will also never get over how completely adorable Kyo and Yuki look in their animal forms but I also have a soft spot for Kyo getting cat ears while he's human. Of course I found myself really enjoying the conversation that the older trio had too about the past and how Ayame and Shigure were trying to convince Hatori that he might find love again cause he's still young. It was interesting seeing once again how similar Hatori was to Tohru cause he talked about how he couldn't ask for anything more and should appreciate what he had and that was such a Tohru thing to say. Anyone else have a feeling that the woman they talked about who works at the high school might end up being Hatori's new love interest?
Is Kisa next?? Please be next cause I adore Kisa!
