What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Anyway, let's dive right in shall we?

Welcome To Demon School Iruma-Kun Episode 1, 2 & 3

So as you can see by the fact that I'm reviewing 3 episodes this week, I really wasn't planning on checking this show out when I first heard about it but an anime YouTuber that I love was watching this one and he had nothing but good things to say so I figured why not check this show out and honestly I'm so freaking glad I did. This show is laugh out loud hilarious! I had full moments where I had to pause the video so I could finish busting a gut before I could continue. Now the concept for this show isn't anything new or original cause it's basically an isekai without the whole death part but something about the way the show is written all the way down to it's characters is just so much fun to watch. I love Iruma and how terrified he is to stand out cause he's a human in a demon world but at the same time manages to have such good luck that his meager skills end up making him look like an incredible demon. I was living for how he dodged enough attacks from Azz to make Azz look like he was beneath him and then accidentally summoning his teacher cause he's a human with no magic! Azz is fun enough with his over-the-top ability to try to work for Iruma but I really adore Clara who I thought at first that I might find a little annoying but ended up making me sympathize with her so much! I love that Iruma was the first person to want to be around Clara without wanting something from her and that Clara and Azz were the first people to want to be Iruma's friends. I also want to give a shoutout to Sullivan for be the absolute weirdest and giving me the most reason to laugh. Also Iruma is totally going to end this show as the new Demon King right?

Special 7: Special Crime Investigation Unit Episode 3

For a second I thought that this might be a Nijou episode cause it started out with his nightmare and in a way it was though we did spend most of the episode on the case of the week. I didn't actually mind this cause beyond worrying about the case we also learned more about this world and possibly a smidge about our main villains. Nijou's flashback was interesting cause not only did it show that he thinks that Ichinose might have gotten his older brother killed but also that he appeared human in the flashback which makes me wonder if he became an elf through some sort of bite (like a vampire or a werewolf) or if elves had the ability to hide their pointy ears when they want to. I also have a feeling that the brother might be the one who saved Seiji's life cause I can't imagine whoever it was isn't an important character. The other major thing is my continuing belief that Seiji isn't all that he seems cause once again he was able to take on a large amount of magic radiating off of one of the spells in that building and it didn't hurt him and I'm just sitting here wondering if Ichinose or any of the others is also noting this down in the back of their minds. Also straight up but Public Safety is the damn worst cause even if you hate another police squad, ignoring them when they find bombs is ridiculous regardless of whether or not they're big or small bombs! Ugh. I'm just glad that Special 7 will now get all the praise for finding and disarming their bombs while Public Safety ran around like chickens without their heads. The final thing to note about this episode was that we saw a guy who seemed similar to the supposed head of The Nine that Special 7 arrested and that they seemed to be just testing out how magic worked by hiring B to combine tech with magic.

Stand My Heroes: Piece Of Truth Episode 3

We seem to have learned a bit more about what this show's possible conspiracy is though I find myself caring less and less about the structure of the story being that Rei meets new guys every week. Like I've said before there's plenty of men in this show already so we should turn our focus to the plot instead! Rei accidentally discovered something that she wrote off fairly quickly but I think might be more important than she first thought. It seems as though every candidate for STAND was somehow related to a drug case in the past and it's possible that they might all be related to this Anonymous Case that we heard about last week. Maki was kidnapped during it and it seems like Sara might have died from it and the reason it was all brushed under the rug has to due with the fact that the rich and powerful might be the drug smugglers. Perhaps the big secret last week was that the leader of REVEL or all of REVEL are in on drug smuggling or at least working for them which is why Hiyama made that sketchy phone call and seemed to expect Rei to reach out to him but didn't actually want to work with her. The new drug that the others of the narcotics division found is also probably important cause it's a copy of a popular drug from around ten-ish years ago which fits in timeline wise for Sara's accident 16 years ago and Maki's kidnapping 15 years ago so I have a feeling that this new drug smuggling operation has brought back a drug from the past and someone high up knows something which is why they are so adamant to build STAND and use the rich and famous. I low key have to keep going to previous episodes cause the way this show is dropping hints is making me crazy and I cannot for the life of me keep track of all our characters!

Batwoman Season 1 Episode 3

I'm so glad we finally got the full Batwoman suit! It was about damn time cause I was getting so tired of how awkward and clunky the suit without the wig looked! I also loved this episode and that I was right last week in guessing that we'd get a villain of the week episode rather than an Alice centric one but having said that it wasn't like Alice wasn't in the episode at all which is actually what I expected tbh. I actually really liked that the first villain Kate faced was one who hated Batman cause it totally made sense that if she was going to run around in the Batman suit that his old enemies would pop up. I also liked that this was the reason for Kate to change up the suit cause in the previews it looked a little like the preachy version of feminism that I don't love where she said something about a man not needing to take the credit for a woman's work so I was so thankful that the real reason was something more meaty. As a sidebar I loved the nod to Riddler and the Hush storyline with how Tommy paid Nygma to get Batman's true identity and no matter how insane Tommy was (I mean who blames Batman for actually saving a parent's life??) he was fun to watch. I still really love Mary and I super want her to be the one to figure out Kate's identity before Sophie or even the father cause one of my favorite moments this week was Mary and Kate teasing each other in the elevator before Tommy's party and Mary deserves better than being looked down by everyone around her. I mean seriously so she likes to party and be on social media. Why does that make everyone else think she's got no brain? On a similar note I really dislike Sophie and I'm super not into the idea that she's going to be Kate's endgame so I'm just waiting for Renee Montoya to show up cause she and Maggie Sawyer were Kate's comic book girlfriends but since Maggie was already used over on Supergirl, Renee is the only one left. I especially don't like the weird thing that's happening between Sophie and her husband cause it feels a little too close to Sophie closeting herself than being bi and I'm super uncomfortable with that on a show like this that should be better than that.

The promo for next week shows that Batwoman will be facing a new villain called Magpie and for a second I wondered if that was Alice in a costume but I think it is a different person honestly. It also looks like maybe Kate's dad (who's name I'll learn one of these days lol) gets angry with Kate's stepmom making me wonder if maybe he learned one of her many secrets. I still think she'll end up being the ultimate villain!

The Flash Season 6 Episode 3

This episode felt like it was finally placing down the pieces of the puzzle for the season which was interesting cause usually that's an episode 1 job. We met the new Harrison Wells, and got the villain of the season interacting with Barry. The new Harrison Wells is probs going to be called Nash (his middle name) and he seems like an Indiana Jones parody who's on this Earth hunting something called Eternium and tbh though Iris and Cisco acted like he was being an idiot, it sounds a lot like something Crisis related. Perhaps it's even related to Barry and the Speed Force cause if Wells was reading it on Iris, it might be cause Barry spends the most time with Iris. We also spent a little more time with Ramsey and I know I haven't exactly been fair about how I don't like him but I think I mean that as a person not particularly as a villain yet cause he hasn't truly become the villain though I can totally see his trajectory. He claims that he's still dying from HLH but he became a meta two weeks ago and I was curious about his powers and it looks like maybe he can push dark matter into healthy humans and then reabsorb their blood in order to heal himself? What a damn lame power tbh. I do have to admit I was super relieved that Barry didn't out himself to Ramsey cause you know how much he sucks at secret identities. Frost is still trying to live her life and I still really hate this storyline cause I can't see how it'll end. Will Caitlin just stop living or now will they make a deal about how to split their time like 12 hours to Caitlin and 12 to Frost or like every other day or week they switch? Ralph also had a storyline this week and can I say again just how much I adore Ralph which I really didn't expect to say when he first showed up but he's evolved into one of the kindest guys on this show and I loved his talk with him mom about loving themselves. I still low key ship him with Caitlin (or Frost) but I'm curious to know when Sue will appear.

It looks like Flash is doing another Halloween themed spooky episode next week and I remember loving the Ragman one from last season so we'll see about this one. It also looks like Frost will still be shadowing Flash which at first I was like why not the others and then I realized that other than Barry and Caitlin, I think Ralph is the only meta left now. By the by do we think Wally will come back this season? I mean if Barry "dies" then it'd probs be a good thing to have another speedster around? Also are we really supposed to assume that Harry and Jessie actually died in the anti-matter wave over on Arrow cause they didn't appear this week sooooo....

Arrow Season 8 Episode 2

What a crazy episode! I don't know what's what anymore tbh but I'm so looking forward to next week! I was totally wrong in thinking that Oliver would be jumping from Earth to Earth on Monitor missions cause not only did we come back to Earth 1 this week but it definitely looks like we'll be sticking to Earth 1 next week. I also really love where this episode took Oliver. He started out completely horrified in what he perceived to be his failure over on Earth 2 and thus was extremely mission focused for most of the episode to the harm of others and ended up questioning whether or not the Monitor even was a force for good. Based on the final scene of the episode, I do really think that the Monitor is out to do good but I think he's an ends justifies the means type of person so if he has to let an entire universe of people die, he will. It's horrific cause we've gotten to know Earth 2 so well and that's definitely why the Arrowverse chose to show us that Earth get destroyed since we're more emotionally connected to that one compared to if for example Earth 17 got destroyed. I also really like the idea that he's gotten to Lyla cause Lyla is definitely more I'll do what I have to in order to get results than Oliver is now but I still want to know what the Monitor's plan is! We've got a scientist who's clearly not afraid to cross lines and dwarf star particles. Clearly he wants to build something but what? I also loved seeing Katana again and China White and it's definitely cause this is our last season that we're calling back old favorites and I love it. The flashes of Felicity and Mia and Oliver's family throughout the episode were amazing too cause it reminded us that although Emily isn't here this season, Felicity's such an integral part of the show. We also got more flash-forward stuff that I don't care about and Laurel came to terms (as much as a person can) about the loss of her Earth.

THEA!!! Thea is back next week! I assumed she would be tbh cause like not only is this the last season so of course she needs to appear at least once but since we were going to Nanda Parbat and the League of Assassins, Thea had to be there! I'm not entirely sure what else we'll get from the episode cause technically there's no League so who can Oliver ask about the Monitor but I'm sure there's some secret hidden room surrounded with booby traps somewhere in the base that has all the answers!

Riverdale Season 4 Episode 3

So this was a mixed bag of an episode for me cause while I did love parts of the show, others were not my cup of tea. I'm still not sure what Jughead's prep school has to do with the rest of Riverdale cause it really pulls him away from the rest of the crazy but that doesn't stop me from enjoying what I'm watching anyway. There's just something so fun about the school dynamics cause it's been forever since anyone on Riverdale acted like a high-schooler. I loved Jughead putting that Bret in his place though poor Moose was the one to suffer. Bret's a bit of a moron though isn't he cause first of all why in the world would you try to bully a guy from a gang? Secondly if you decide to use his friend against him, why show your hand so early? Like dude save it for a real moment! Back in Riverdale Archie and his mom fought about whether or not he should make his boxing gym into a community center for at-risk youths cause his mom wanted him to be thinking of the future while Archie was thinking of the present and Veronica tried to repeatedly help him because she was trying to distance herself from the Lodge name by doing good. Archie's story was meh as it usually is but I liked the way Veronica's ended with her taking her grandfather's last name instead of her mother's cause it's a lovely tribute but also an excellent way to take a stab at her father. Betty meanwhile may have taken the prize for dumbest plan when she rolled up to the Farm with all of Edgar's demands and expected him to just honor the deal which like duh Betty he's not going to do. But once again everything turned out okay with Alice shooting Edgar and Betty saving all the Farmies though someone seems to still be blackmailing the Coopers through those confession tapes Edgar had and I have a feeling it'll be either Fangs or Evelyn cause Fangs was pissed at shit with Betty for betraying the Farm and we never saw Evelyn again after Betty knocked her out. Also Cheryl is like officially losing her mind and I'm so glad Toni found out cause she needs like actual help.

Next week is the Halloween themed episode of Riverdale and it looks like Cheryl thinks that Jason's ghost is haunting them while Betty is being stalked by someone. I have a feeling that Toni is doing whatever to Cheryl in order to get her to think that Jason's ghost is in the house so that he can tell her to let him go and put him back in his grave to rest. As for Betty, it's probably the same person trying to blackmail her but I'm still not sure who that could be.

Assassin's Pride Episode 3

You know what I adore about this show? Even though Merida is supposed to be young and a bit naive and the tiniest bit a damsel, she's still able to problem solve and be brave in the face of danger. When Merida and Elise were captured this week, I thought we would end up waiting around until Kufa magically realized his charge was kidnapped and rescue her but to my surprise Merida was a badass even with her limited options. I loved that she made Elise feel better and wasn't scared of what was happening and that she was the one to figure out how to create a magical weapon to help even if their mana was turned off. She's written to be so much more than a one-dimensional character and I love that about her. It seems like her father didn't fall for that trick last week during the competition but I still can't figure out how he's so damn sure that she couldn't have found her own power within. Just because Kufa refuses to kill her, he keeps hiring more and more assassins to kill her and I'm just confused. Of course I love seeing Kufa be all protective and is it any wonder that Merida is falling in love with him though poor Kufa has no idea cause obviously he still sees Merida as a child. Do we know how old she's supposed to be cause she's not exactly drawn as a child child and I would have guessed like 15 or 16. On another note I was wondering for the past two weeks if Kufa sharing his mana would limit his strength but according to the fight this week it doesn't seem to have affected Kufa at all cause he seems to have a bottomless pit of power having to do with the fact that he's a vampire interestingly enough. I do suppose it's possible that since Merida's mana was suppressed that maybe he had all his power and that when she is actively using it it'll be harder for him but that's a question for later.

Titans Season 2 Episode 8

This episode finally gave us the backstory that we so desperately needed about Jericho and the old Titans and I have to say watching it, I can't entirely see how Slade killing Jericho was either Dick or the Titans' fault. Maybe it's cause I really expected the story to be darker but honestly the Titans were all very kind to Jericho and they even told him the truth about everything from who his dad was to who they were to how they started out using him which kind of takes the wind out of the sails of the idea that the Titans were bad. I mean yes of course it's always wrong to go after family whether you're a villain or a hero but in the end Dick just wanted to give Jericho a home just like he wanted to give Rose, Rachel, Gar, and Jason one. To be honest I low key blame Jericho's mom more than anything cause she of all people knew what Slade was and she basically gave him permission to go and murder all of the Titans to get Jericho back instead of doing the logical thing and giving Jericho time before reaching out to him. I mean what else would a kid do if he found out his father was an assassin for hire and his mother had lied to him his whole life?? Slade was also the idiot for deciding to fight Dick in the same place as Jericho was cause there are so many chances for him to accidentally hit Jericho instead. It was honestly just like sweet innocent Jericho to jump in the middle of a kill shot for Dick and it breaks me up inside cause I adored him (so much more than Rose) and I wish that he was the Wilson who would join the Titans. I know a lot of people were thinking that maybe it was Jericho last week who was pulling the pranks like an angry spirit but after watching this episode, I'm not entirely sure that even if Ghost!Jericho was hanging around that he would be angry or hate the Titans. I also understand Dick's guilt a little cause I mean yeah it's true that if he hadn't gone to that church then Jericho wouldn't have died but Slade shouldn't have tried to kill Dick at that point either. Like say it worked out the way he wanted to and Slade killed Dick in front of Jericho, how would that show his son that he's not the heartless monster that the Titans told Jericho he was?

Next week we'll probs be going back to present day and I'm really curious to know how Jason will react to Dick's story and whether he'll tell the other baby Titans.

xoxo Allie

What Dramas Am I Watching This Week?

So here's what I'm watching this week! Of course the list is split by country and the amount of episodes I've seen so far are written below! There will be spoilers from now on so if you aren't caught to the episode number on list, you might want to go watch that episode and then come back! If you're interested in previous lists, click here and if you want to see a list of my favorite asian OTPs and ships, click here!

KDRAMA

Extraordinary You (12/32): What would you do if you found out that you were, in fact, a character in a comic? And an extra character on top of that? Change the course of the story, obviously! Eun Dan Oh is a 17-year-old high-school student from a wealthy family who suffers from a lifelong heart condition that inevitably means she will not live past her teenage years. However, when Dan Oh realizes she is experiencing long gaps in her memory as well, she comes into the unhappy inheritance of another fact in her life: she is a character in a Korean webtoon and all of her actions are predetermined by the artist who draws her. To make matters worse, she discovers she is only a supporting character in the cast. With her newfound understanding of the world she inhabits, she is determined to find true love in her own plot-line and circumvent the author’s plans for her character by utilizing the flashes of storyboard she alone is able to see.

I CAN'T WITH THIS SHOW ANYMORE! Why is it so perfect??? Okay but seriously this week was so hard to watch, not because it was poorly written but because the angst was so real and my heart broke over and over for Dan Oh! I mean first she though she lost Ha Ru permanently and then she got him back but he didn't know her and that was so hard to watch cause we all adore the sweet perfect angel that is Ha Ru so even his stage persona who was still nice but not our kind of nice was tough to swallow. I had a feeling though that he would remember at some point cause no matter what the writer does, he's not an actual Secret manga character so the rules don't truly apply to him. As it turns out, he and Dan Oh are actually the main leads of a manga called Chinese Trumpet Vine and I have a feeling that something went wrong in that manga the way Squid Fairy kept warning everyone and maybe Dan Oh disappeared so Ha Ru jumped worlds to find her and ended up in Secret which is written by the same author as CTV therefore the characters are drawn the same and say similar lines. What are the chances that Ha Ru remembered both sets of his memories? Having said that, Squid Fairy was 100% the villain of CTV right? He's so sketch with the way he keeps trying to hide the CTV manga and how much he hates Ha Ru and even Kyung as it now seems. I was interested to see how much Kyung changed outside of the stage but it feels like he's still fairly similar though he's clearly a little kinder. Honestly the way he was using Ha Ru was horrible though and I can't help but compare him to Do Hwa who's in the same situation as Kyung only Do Hwa the angel that he is puts Yoo Da's feelings above his own while Kyung knowing that Dan Oh loves Ha Ru is trying his hardest to keep her next to him. I need Do Hwa to be happy in the end cause he's too precious for this world. Also Kyung's stepbrother is 100% aware right? I saw that look at the dinner table!
Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency (12/16): Before Lee Soo became a king, he was an ordinary blacksmith in the countryside. He life suddenly changed at the age of 23. This was when Lee Soo became the King of Joseon. Meanwhile, Lee Soo’s first love is Gae Ddong. He loved her before he took the throne. King Lee Soo wants to marry Gae Ddong, but, because of her humble background, it is virtually impossible. To marry Gae Ddong, Lee Soo hires the Flower Crew Matchmaking Agency. The agency consists of 3 handsome men: Ma Hoon, Do Joon and Go Young Soo and they are the best matchmaking agency in Joseon. King Lee Soo asks the Flower Crew to make Gae Ddong a noblewoman.

I was squealing so much during these two episodes this week cause Gae Ddong and Hoon were just so cute! I loved that he was so scared to admit his feelings for her cause he knows that Soo became King and he's terrified of stealing "The King's Woman" but that ultimately her sweetness overcame his fear and that he ended up choosing to follow his heart. Their kiss this week was so amazing (the second lol not the shocked first) and I loved how jealous he got over other men flirting with her but more than that I'm so glad that he figured out the truth about her brother cause it makes the two of them a team again. On another note I'm officially furious with Soo who literally has no idea what a giant mess he's making! Gae Ddong is smart but she's not devious enough to be able to survive palace politics and it's driving me mad that he doesn't give one shit about whether or not she wants to be with him. Gae Ddong and Hoon are happy living a common enough life but with Soo constantly poking the State Councillor and sneaking out of the palace, he's just putting a target on Gae Ddong's back! I was so afraid that someone would follow Soo and see Gae Ddong and kidnap her right there and I'm afraid that it'll still happen like next week cause we're coming closer to the end of this drama and Gae Ddong is still in the dark about King Soo! On another note my goodness but isn't Ji Hwa the absolute worst? I feel like I say that every week but for once maybe she was just a smidge correct in being angry cause Joon was pretending to be the King but of course she went too far anyway. Her plan is obviously to prove that Gae Ddong isn't Lady Yun but I have a feeling that Lord Yun will step up and help her out somehow.
Leverage (4/16): "Leverage" will tell the story of Lee Tae Joon, an elite insurance investigator turned scam strategist who recruits the best "players" in order to catch the real criminals who think they’re above the law.

The first episode that aired this week was all about Tae Joon and company dealing with what happened with Mirae but the second episode was when all the action went down. The show didn't actually tell us how long the time skip was but if I had to guess I'd say it was at least a year but it's possible that it was a lot less cause Tae Joon didn't really grow much facial hair during that time. I'm really into the con of the week and not only just cause cons get me all excited. The target Young Min is such an asshole and tbh Eui Sung is an idiot for falling for him since it's like so obvious from the first moment you meet him that he's a conman and dude stocks are the most dangerous things to play around with! I still love Na Byul though and I was actually pretty surprised that she acted this time but then again they needed all hands on deck for this one cause Roy got pulled in too. I low key still ship Na Byul and Roy but it's so obvious that if someone does get together it'll be Na Byul and Eui Sung cause of how jealous he was about Na Byul not only spending time with Roy but also Young Min which sucks cause I hate getting second lead syndrome if you can even call it that here. I'm still really curious about this mysterious company that is run by one secretive man and controls a bunch of CEOs. The hometown friend of Tae Joon's that we met this week threw up some red flags for me too but I'm mostly just hoping that he thought Tae Joon was dating a new women rather than running a con but the fact that he's so close with Tae Joon's ex-wife is real weird.
Melting Me Softly (8/16): It’s a story about a man and a woman who participated in a project to be frozen for 24 hours, only to be waken up 20 years later due to a mysterious scheme. Once out of the freeze, the two experience a dangerous side effect from the project wherein they must maintain a core body temperature of 31.5 degrees Celsius (approximately 88.7 degrees Fahrenheit) to survive. Coupled with the warming of their hearts from romantic attraction, they find themselves in a sticky situation. Ma Dong Chan is a star variety show PD, who makes hits out of every show he creates. He decides to personally participate in his show called “Frozen Human Project,” but instead of waking up 24 hours later, 20 years have passed when he opens his eyes. Everyone he knows has aged 20 years, while he has maintained his perfect physique and youth from pre-freeze.

Why oh why don't I ship Dong Chan and Mi Ran?? There's so much wrong with this show that I have to at least find the main couple cute!! At the very least I should say snaps to this show for finally allowing our leads to spend time together and give us reasons to believe that the two are sort of into each other. Dong Chan is a little more possessive and controlling than I would like and no amount of Ji Chang Wook charm can keep be from being a little freaked out by how he's use his power as Mi Ran's boss to control her movements. Maybe it's supposed to be the whole from the 90s thing where that might be cute but I suppose ultimately it matters if Mi Ran hates it and so far it feels like she likes that he's so involved in her life. I do have to say she was a complete idiot for not packing her fever shot before their day trip cause beyond the fact that Dong Chan told her repeatedly to bring it with her at all times, you would think that if you might die if your temperature went up too much that you would worry more about it on your own! The antics after the kiss were all great and I like that Dong Chan basically told Mi Ran that he might be falling for her. I low key like the story of Mi Ran's friend and her ex but not because the ex is anything good (in fact I could live without seeing him) but I felt so bad for the friend who loves the ex but he never loved her. The bonding moment between Dong Chan and his siblings was so sweet and like I'm glad that Mi Ran is finally dressing in the time period so Dong Chan is next!
FINISHED The Gentlemen Of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop (54/54): A family crisis arises when a respected tailor suddenly leaves home.Lee Man Sool is a master tailor who has been trying to preserve the dying art of making custom men’s suits from scratch through his family-owned business, Laurel Tree Tailor Shop, which has been in business for almost 100 years. However, Man Sool one day departs without notice, leaving only a note behind for his wife, Choi Gok Ji; twice-divorced daughter, Lee Dong Sook; Dong Sook’s daughter, Kim Da Jung; and son, Lee Dong Jin. Man Sool knows that his old-fashioned tailor shop is a dying business and asks his family to sell it for him while he is away because he doesn’t have the heart to do it himself. Man Sool’s old apprentice, Bae Sam Do, who now runs a fried chicken business with his wife, Bok Sun Nyeo, is devastated by the news of his old master’s disappearance and wants to return to the tailor shop, but Sun Nyeo is still smarting over his past failed tailor businesses and forbids it. Man Sool’s employees, seamstresses Na Yun Shil and Geum Choon Daek, want to keep the business open until the master tailor’s return, but Yun Shil keeps having bad experiences every time she runs into Dong Jin. When Dong Jin’s wife, Min Hyo Joo, divorces him after he is unseated as the president of her father’s company, Meesa Apparel, by Hyo Joo’s stepbrother, Min Hyo Sang, and stepmother, Han Eun Sook, Dong Jin decides to return to his father’s tailor shop. Meanwhile, Yun Shil’s friend, Kang Tae Yang, is dumped by his longtime girlfriend, television announcer Choi Ji Yeon, while Dong Sook is determined to help washed-up singer Sung Tae Pyung get back on his feet.

As you all know if you follow me, weekend dramas tend to go either way for me cause though I love the cute family stories they tell, most dramas are too stuffed with over-the-top soap opera elements for me to truly enjoy them so when I find those hidden gems, I'm more happy with it. I originally checked this drama out for Jo Yoon Hee who I loved in Pied Piper but ended up falling in love with one of the side couples and stuck around for them and the cute family the Tailor Shop created. Yun Shil and Dong Jin ended up being tied with Sam Do and Sun Nyeo as my least favorite couples in the show cause I started out really enjoying the dynamic between the main couple (and their great chemistry which turned into a real life marriage) but then they devolved into a mess of soap opera shenanigans and Yun Shil kept bending over backwards too many times for me to enjoy. Sam Do and Sun Nyeo just felt waaay too abusive for my taste but I adored Tae Pyung and Dong Sook and the little family they made with Da Jung. I loved that she supported him from the start and that he devoted himself back as soon as he realized his feelings for her. My favorite couple ended up being Tae Yang and Hyo Won which at first I was meh about but then ended up being the absolute cutest couple. I loved their dynamic so much and how adorable Hyo Won was and how much Eun Sook ended up loving Tae Yang. Even the antagonists were well written cause though they did antagonistic things, other than Hyo Joo none of them were truly bad people and I liked seeing their softer sides as the show went on. For once I actually believed a show when they explained how the bad guys became good cause like I said most of them were just selfish or immature so they never truly did that wrong. Overall I'd give this show a 9 / 10!
The Running Mates: Human Rights Volunteer Team (12/16): "Running Investigator" shines light on the lives of those who have their human rights infringed upon from the perspective of an inspector for the Human Rights Commission, who has neither the right to investigate nor prosecute.

This week's case was really horrific being a sexual assault where the culprit was a pedophile. I honestly didn't see the culprit being the pysch doctor cause I totally thought it was the welfare center director like Yoon Seo did cause he was just so skeevy. I know we didn't actually see it but I really hope that the punishments that Yoon Seo asked the HRC for went through cause the director really doesn't deserve to stay in charge. It also really sucks that the girl who helped out so much ended up being imprisoned for kidnapping though I'm sure between Yoon Seo and her detective friend, they'll get her out but my question is that if the child in question is a runaway in the first place is it kidnapping if they leave with someone else? How only do kids need to be until running away is no longer a crime cause no one was worried about the older girl when she ran but the younger one was a cause for alarm. On another note there was a serial killer who was caught and the show kept talking about him over and over making me wonder if there's more to his story. Was he the one who Yoon Seo's dad thought was the criminal in Yoon Jin's case or was it his lawyer cause the detective definitely said something about the first guy they thought was the culprit but he was vague about it cause it was probs a next week issue. As a sidebar it's super weird to watch this show at the same time as Extraordinary You cause one makes me so happy and the other freaks me out.
Vagabond (10/16): Cha Dal Gun becomes an awakened tiger in the face of his nephew’s death in a mysterious plane crash. As an orphan himself, he had raised his nephew singlehandedly in place of his brother who had passed on. Triggered by the large-scale cover-up of the incident, he sets off on a journey to discover the truth. Go Hae Ri is the eldest daughter of a marine who had died during an operation. She has always wanted to be a normal civil servant to support her family, but life had other plans and she ends up as a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent. Their lives intertwine as they discover a tangled web of corruption behind the plane crash.

You know what's exhausting about this show beyond the fact that the villains ALWAYS seem to be five steps ahead of the heroes? The fact that John & Mark literally controls everything and have their fingers in every pie but Dynamic is pretty much useless and not cause they don't have their own spy network and bribed officials cause they totally do but the fact that they haven't stepped in yet! Like for god's sake we all know that Dynamic and Edward Park aren't good guys and they have a huge stake in what's happening but decided to wait until John & Mark made an official attack to do something? It's damn near too late! I also don't understand the government's stance but honestly it probably totally has to do with the fact that I can't see how John & Mark is the better option for fighter jets. They're so screwed in terms of public opinion that I don't know how the President hasn't cut ties and run. There was an emphasis on beating the opposition party this week though which makes me wonder if maybe the plan will be to join hands with the other party and make him President and have him side with us. On another note the Senior Secretary Yun is so far up his own ass that I want him to be the first one to die above even Jessica and part of me is sitting here listening to him talk about how he runs Korea but like what happens with the current President's term is over? Bye bye power! I also had no doubt that Gang was still alive and somehow faked his own death cause he was the only higher up that was on our side so without him we would have been totally screwed which is why the ending was everything. I'm hoping that since we hit rock bottom this week that from now on we'll be on the climb to victory cause we've only got 3 weeks left to solve this mess!

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Anyway, let's dive right in shall we?

Special 7: Special Crime Investigation Unit Episode 2

Why is it that I always end up watching and enjoying anime that literally no one else watches?? This show is right up my alley of what I enjoy watching and though there are a bunch of investigation anime this season, this is probs my favorite of the bunch cause it is able to balance the lightheartedness with cool characters and a fun world. Seiji is still not exactly my favorite of the group but I appreciate that he can kick ass as much as the next person. We got to know the whole unit a bit more and learned that not only is there an elf and a vampire on the squad but there's also a dwarf and a homunculus which is totally fascinating! I still wonder if Seiji is not entirely human but I'm sure that'll be a problem for later. We also learnt that the Special 7 was a taskforce meant to take down the Nine but because they captured the leader, the Nine was disbanded and Special 7 was left floundering. I assumed as the Boss was explaining this that nothing he said about the Nine was true cause they're obviously the villains of this show and honestly how easy would it have been for the Nine to give up a random person as their leader and then go underground for a bit only for my theory to be proven true at the end of the episode where we saw that the diamond that Special 7 saved ended up back in the Nine's hands. Their goal is to resurrect dragons and honestly in this crazy world, there probs are dragons and I can't wait to see what happens!

Stand My Heroes: Piece Of Truth Episode 2

I'm still struggling with characters and which ones are supposedly important but with this being a reverse harem show, I suppose most of them aren't any more important than the others. The only problem (if you even want to call it as such) is that since this show is about detectives and there's clearly some sort of mystery happening in the background, it makes me want to pay attention and piece things together on my own the way any mystery does. Last week I wondered if Rei's parents' death might be the main plot but this week we met four new characters and the leader of that crew was making secretive phone calls making me wonder what he's a part of! Beyond that I was surprised to note that Rei's character shifted between the first and second episode and now she's a much more solid lead. I complained last week that she was too incompetent to be a detective and that she made silly mistakes that no real person would make in order to make her a damsel but this week though she's clearly not an expert, she's starting to move in a positive direction. I could actually see what the others saw in her: her kindness and strength and confidence was beautiful. I also loved meeting and getting to know Maki who's precious and clearly the most important of the Revel quartet we met since he was the one who was the focus on this episode. I'm such a sucker for romance that whenever I watch a reverse harem I find myself being like I don't care who she picks cause one minute I'll like her with one guy and the next another. I do have to admit that I did miss Aoyama cause he was barely in this episode!

Batwoman Season 1 Episode 2

Okay so this episode was a little better than the pilot which honestly was a snooze fest and I can't help but compare it to Flash or Arrow when it first started. I don't know what it is about this show but it just feels so meh to me. Maybe I'm still waiting for Batwoman to get her actual suit cause the one right now looks truly horrible or maybe I wish that this show hadn't started from Kate's origin when we've already seen her in the middle of her journey in last year's crossover. It definitely doesn't help that I'm not into any of Kate's supporting characters cause one of these Arrowverse shows are only as strong as their cast and like yeah not every show can have Flash's ensemble which is my favorite right now only cause they outshine Barry by leagues. Alice is still fascinating and I'm thrown with how quickly we're moving through plot cause she's obviously the season long villain right but by episode 2 Kate knows that Alice is Beth and Alice knows that Kate is Batwoman and Kate's dad is burying his head in the sand! What more is left to unveil? I did like the reveal though that Kate's new stepmom is not all that she seems and I wonder if she always knew that Alice was Beth and that Alice/Beth tried to reach out to her father only for the stepmom to get in the way and convince Alice that her father didn't love her anymore. I'm also curious about Mary as a character cause Kate really treats her as nothing and seems to just be annoyed whenever Mary talks cause she's a little less serious than Kate is but I still feel like Mary will end up joining the team cause at some point Kate will need medical help and with Mary being a doctor and all it just makes sense. Luke is still the worst and I'm almost consistently annoyed with him. Why does every show need to copy and paste the same exact tech person? Felicity was unique and Cisco was different enough but now between Winn and Brainy and Luke it's exhausting.

Hmm it looks like maybe next week we'll finally get the full Batwoman costume with the wig and red accents but other than that I can't really tell what's going to happen! Maybe we'll get a weekly villain to take the place of Alice?

The Flash Season 6 Episode 2

What a great episode of the Flash! I find that I enjoy this show more when it goes crazy and doesn't deal with street level crime cause there are plenty of shows that do that better! Part of me is a little irritated that Barry and Iris were so worried about Barry's sacrifice that they don't know that Oliver already made the same decision but it's always interesting to see how different Oliver and Barry are as people cause when faced with an impossible choice, Barry turns to his friends and family while Oliver looks inside. Despite that it was nice seeing Jay Garrick again and I actually really like Barry's struggle in deciding whether he still wanted to go out and fight when he knew that he might die or to hide and stay alive. Joe's speech about how people like them hear the call of duty was so poignant and dude he's the best. Part of me wonders if this is how the show will bring back Wally cause we know he's supposed to pop up this season cause if everyone's afraid that there will be no more Barry, Central City still needs a Flash not to mention that it would fit into the comic storyline perfectly. I would laugh so hard if this truly was a way for Grant to leave the show but in actuality I have a feeling that since Crisis is airing 3 episodes in December and 2 in January that Barry will "die" in December and come back in January leaving a month or so in which we're all like oh no Barry is dead! I did actually like the case of the week cause it's been a while since Flash had a good case mystery and it's interesting that the girl they saved is now joining the Citizen but I'm still not a fan of the Killer Frost trying to live a life thing and tbh I miss Caitlin a little. I also find myself not entirely caring about the supposed villain for this half of the season but his powers do seem kind of interesting in the way that I don't know what they are.

The promo for next week shows that Barry will tell the others about what the Monitor told him about dying which we all kinda knew but I think what'll take up the whole episode plot is that Bloodsport (who's real name I cannot remember for the life of me) will turn to Team Flash for help about that weird monster thing he created. I have a feeling that he'll realize that his powers are basically to control the dead in a way.

Arrow Season 8 Episode 1

We're back with our final season of Arrow and goddamn it but I'm going to miss seeing Oliver's beautiful face on my television screen every week. Now I have to admit that I was so mixed about even checking out this season cause though Arrow is my favorite Arrowverse show, I had been so bitter that Felicity wasn't in this season which of course was no fault of the show or the writers cause Emily herself decided to leave (a whole other can of worms cause it's like Emily you've been on this show for 7 years, why couldn't you wait another 6 months before you left??) She was such a core part of this show that I was afraid that the show wouldn't feel right without her but I was actually really impressed with how her presence was so strong (at least in this episode) while she wasn't physically there. I'm assuming that based on this episode that this season might end up being Oliver jumping from Earth to Earth picking up random things that the Monitor needs with the help of Diggle and possibly Laurel while we see old faces and dude I would be so down for this! I loved this world and how it was Tommy that became the Dark Archer cause of Thea's death and that it was Oliver who pulled Tommy back from the brink cause Tommy has always been a good person but like Oliver said, he and Tommy are so alike that they need good people around them to keep them good. I wondered why he would come back so publicly on this Earth cause it's like if he only had to steal dwarf star then why not do it secretly as the Hood cause it's not like Oliver's planning on staying so after he leaves the family will fall apart again so the fact that the episode ended with Earth 2 being consumed worked out perfectly. It was honestly terrifying to see and just gets me more excited for the crossover. Also I'm high key annoyed that we're still doing flash forwards cause no one likes them.

I still don't know what this season will be going forward but my theory on each episode revisiting a previous season of Arrow but remixed seems like it might be true cause we kept seeing flashes of the Hong Kong flashback from season 3 of Arrow mixed into the promo so maybe Oliver will end up on an Earth where that'll be his main goal. I think we'll also be figuring out what happened to Earth 2 and really ramp up the fear for the crisis cause it's like whatever it is has destroyed an entire world of people but apparently not the world itself?

Riverdale Season 4 Episode 2

This. This right here was the actual premiere for this season and I'm all pumped up for it! I love where all our characters seem to be headed and what this season will be about. It's interesting cause it doesn't entirely feel like there's some big mystery this season like there was in the last two but I actually think this is a good thing cause the best season of this show was the first before all the craziness and if Riverdale is returning to that it'll be for the best! I do suppose the mystery will end up being whether or not Jughead dies and though my gut reaction is to be like of course he'll be fine cause he's a main character, part of me wonders if Cole is tired of this show and wants to move on and tbh he would be the only main cast member that I could see leaving. I really hope not cause he's my favorite character up there with Betty but even the whole transferring to a prep school thing feels totally like a soft send off for him cause he won't be around the others except on weekends as he told Jellybean. Betty is still struggling with her mom and she and Charles are working together to take down the Farm which is very interesting cause I feel like we've skipped all the emotional stuff with how Betty feels about a half brother who's also Jughead's brother and FP's kid but maybe the show is just saving that for later. Veronica was dealing with more parent stuff but also low key applying to Harvard which is like you go girl and I liked that in the end she drew a line in the sand with her parents but as per usual I have a feeling it won't last very long. The most interesting storyline in my opinion was the stuff with Reggie and his abusive father which made me cry repeatedly and I'm honestly so glad the show went back there cause it was a throwaway line last season and I was like dude how is no one else worried about this?

The promo doesn't show any Jughead which makes me worry for him leaving the show stronger but other than that it looks like maybe Kevin might have turned on Betty because Polly shows up with a bomb attached to her so like how did Polly even know where the FBI was if not for Kevin? Also something something with Archie but he's always picking fights.

Assassin's Pride Episode 2

I really love this anime to the degree that this might be my favorite fall 2019 anime so far. Everything about it just works for me. I can't decide though if the relationship between Melida and Kuufa is supposed to be romantic or more platonic cause Kuufa definitely treats Melida as a child and part of her sees him as a parental figure with how she looks to him for the approval that her own father won't give her but at the same time she clearly sees him as a man. I would be fine whichever way the show decides to go. I do like that she hasn't seemed jealous yet cause I was a little worried that this might end up becoming a harem show with all the leads being female except for Kuufa but I don't think that will be the case here. I still wish we could learn more about this world and it's rules cause I still don't know if sharing mana is a bad thing for Kuufa and now we learned that there are different levels for mana and I'm assuming Paladin is the highest based on what the show said but Kuufa seems like a badass so why is his level only Samurai? Is that bad? Will that be another strike against Melida being a bastard daughter? Can only the noblest of nobles be Paladin? On the plus side I was living for Kuufa's dramatic ass who was like Melida hide your ability to use mana until the competition so you can wow everyone. I wanted her to kick ass so hard cause the poor girl deserved it after everyone was bullying her so hard so I was all about her winning that first competition and I know Elise isn't the bad guy and clearly cares for Melida but she's obviously Melida's competition in terms of family too so I want Melida to kick her ass too at some point. I'm still thinking that Melida will have some sort of special power or attack that'll come out and really make her a badass cause part of me just wants that for her but another part of me knows how these kinds of shows go!

Titans Season 2 Episode 7

This episode was so strange cause I was so into half of the show but the other half was so boring that I kept looking forward to it going back to the other stuff so I can't really decide if I liked this episode or not. First of all my poor baby Jason deserves better than how everyone is treating him. The poor kid is traumatized by what happened and rather than everyone trying to make sure that they're okay, everyone jumps on him about pranks that have been going one when it's clear from one look at Jason that he didn't do it. I mean the poor thing was trying to hold back tears and yet not a single person in the tower noticed him except for maybe Dick who was trying to ignore it and Rose who didn't entirely seem to care. I'm not sure I understand why it made him a little suicidal or why he thinks that he's the reason the Titans are fighting but I really hope that since Dick opened up to him at the end that this will be the beginning of a better and stronger relationship between the two cause I need Dick to be his big brother. I also loved the Connor stuff and what I expected to be a problem later in the season ended up being resolved really quickly with Eve helping Krypto escape from Cadmus and find Connor. She also apparently gave Starfire a crash course on what Connor is but I loved the small things like Kory knowing Kryptonian and when she and Raven helped heal Connor to Eve's shock. Ugh they're so badass and I really can't wait to see Connor interact more with the others now that he's okay. The Dick stuff was the part of the episode that I didn't love cause it was pretty much the same as last season with him running away and I still doubt that he actually killed Jericho. I still feel like he was inadvertently involved in the death but blames himself. I still really hate this show's version of Bruce and the more I see him the more I dislike him. On another note still no Gar screen time.

Next week's episode is called Jericho so I assume that we'll be returning to the past to see how exactly Dick used Jericho and why Slade killed him.

Every week I watch this show flailing like a child cause of how much I love it! This week ended on such a cliffhanger that I'm so confused where the rest of this season will go! We're not even halfway yet and things are progressing so quickly! First things first when do we think that Kyung realized what was going on? I had been wondering for a while if maybe he was awake cause of how he'd do stuff in the shadows that wasn't in the stage but I kept writing it off cause he couldn't remember Ha Roo but then we saw Kyung hand the comic to Dan Oh and I'm like oh so you're definitely awake now! It was so obvious in hindsight cause his shadows persona was so much sweeter than the stage one! I mean stage Kyung ditched Dan Oh at the movies but shadow Kyung ran to her as soon as he could. We also learned some of his backstory and why he's been acting so terribly and it's cause he lost his mother to illness so he's been afraid to love Dan Oh in the fear of losing her. It's so hilarious cause I'm so on board with both sides of the triangle cause when Kyung is sweet and earnest I'm like yes pick Kyung but then he's an ass and Ha Roo is an angel and I'm like nope definitely pick Ha Roo. Speaking of I was living for Dan Oh and Ha Roo falling for each other this week from how jealous Ha Roo got when Dan Oh was with Do Hwa to how flustered Dan Oh got around Ha Roo. I'm really shocked that he disappeared so early in the season cause I definitely thought that would be a season finale or penultimate episode arc and I can't imagine how in the world he will come back cause like where even did he go? But like at the same time he has to come back cause he's the male lead right?? On another note I seriously feel so bad for Do Hwa and I really want that boy to fall for someone else cause Yoo Da is so eye-roll inducing and even Do Hwa knows it but he just can't move on!
Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency (10/16): Before Lee Soo became a king, he was an ordinary blacksmith in the countryside.

These two episodes were absolutely amazing and I'm on the edge of my seat cause I can't wait for what's next! Slowly but surely Gae Ddong and Hoon have been falling in love with each other and I really don't think she's cheating or anything like that cause she never loved Soo in the first place and in fact only decided to marry him cause she thought of him as a replacement for her lost brother. She was so afraid to lose someone else she loved that she thought that marrying him would be the only way to keep him by her side and though that wasn't exactly fair to Soo, I think part of him knew it and didn't care. It's the same part that makes me feel like he places her wants and needs below his. I hate the palace politics and I can't believe that he would want to force the woman he loves into the palace when he obviously can't do anything to protect anyone! Like he lost his foster father and now one of the only friends he had in the palace and yet he wants to bring poor Gae Ddong into this mess? I'm low key glad though that he overheard Gae Ddong's confession cause it's tickling all my drama joints and I can't wait to see what happens and whether Hoon steps up to fight for his love. I loved that it was Gae Ddong who confessed first cause she doesn't know all the drama that Hoon does about Soo being King so to her, she's just turning down a random noble and in nobility Hoon has the most power besides the King being the son of the regent. Besides that Hoon needed to know cause otherwise he'd be running around thinking that she loves Soo and that he needs to nobly sacrifice her. I also love that she's officially Lady Yun now and I'm low key hoping that Hoon's father will try to force Hoon to marry her cause of politics since clearly the Second State Councillor thinks Lord Yun is an important chess piece so the First State Councillor must think the same way.
Leverage (2/16): "Leverage" will tell the story of Lee Tae Joon, an elite insurance investigator turned scam strategist who recruits the best "players" in order to catch the real criminals who think they’re above the law.

I wanted to check this show out cause despite never having seen the American version, I love con artist shows since I'm super into all the scheming and plots and tricks and being able to see how a con goes down. I wasn't entirely sure what this show would be though cause it was possible that it would be something like Players with a new case every week or something more like Mad Dog with one overarching case with each week having new pieces displayed. So far it feels a bit more like Mad Dog in that whatever happened with Mirae Biomedical is possibly being what our great prize ends up being. The struggle is that I don't know what's really happening in terms of what the villain wants or even who that villain is. There's clearly some sort of rich powerful group that's pulling the strings but to what end other than money? They conned Tae Joon into thinking that he would get to save his son's life when they really just wanted him to be the scapegoat and like by the end of this week's episodes it feels like things went back to status quo with the crew stealing back Asana's recipe and I'm assuming giving it back to Mirae but at the same time Tae Joon still got arrested and his poor son died so all did not end well. I am a fan of all our main characters though especially Na Byul cause I always love the feisty acrobatic girl in a con team who does all the stunt-work though it also really helps that I loved Kim Sae Ron in Mirror Of The Witch but I do have a feeling that since she's only 19 that all the seductive stuff will happen through Soo Kyung who's there as an actress. Ray's a badass and I adore the bantering between Na Byul and Eul Sang, a duo who I definitely think might hook up by the end.
Melting Me Softly (6/16): It’s a story about a man and a woman who participated in a project to be frozen for 24 hours, only to be waken up 20 years later due to a mysterious scheme.

Here's the thing. We're almost halfway through this drama this week so in terms of numbers it makes sense that the romance is starting to build up but the problem is the same problem that I've been having since this show started and that's writing and pacing. Dong Chan found Mi Ran pretty in one episode and then in the next he's swimming in jealously and saying things like don't smile at other guys! What a damn creep! It feels like he's suddenly into her out of nowhere cause the show hasn't devoted enough time to show us the two characters hanging out or going through wacky situations. I love all the funny scenes throughout the drama especially the ones with Mi Ran's friends but if the show devoted half of that time to Dong Chan and Mi Ran then I could believe what the show is trying to sell me in terms of romance. I do have to admit that this may just be a problem on Dong Chan's side cause he's coming on so strong while Mi Ran is a little more subtle about her attraction. I mean Dong Chan is handsome first of all but he's also been so caring recently that I can see why she would be fascinated. I'm still hating all the mystery stuff with Professor Hwang and that rich dude who's trying to kill him but like the thugs he hired this week were so funny. I heard that the writer for this show is the same as the writer for Strong Woman Do Bong Soon and look I'll admit there was some tonal shift problems in that show but damn they wrote a beautiful romance and I'm sitting here like where's that here?
FINISHED The Great Show (16/16): Wie Dae Han is an ex-lawmaker and is a materialistic kind of politician. He wants to get elected as lawmaker again. One day, 18-year-old girl Da Jung comes to him. She tells him that he is her real father. Her mother raised four children, including Da Jung, alone, but she died in a hit-and-run accident. Da Jung is the only one now taking care of her 3 younger siblings. Wie Dae Han accepts Da Jung and her 3 younger siblings. He carries out “The Great Show” to become a lawmaker again.

Raise your hand if you're also super disappointed in how the election ended! I didn't entirely want to start with that negative cause other than Dae Han losing the election I really enjoyed everything else in these two episodes but my utter annoyance with how he lost just low key overpowered the rest. I mean seriously what was the point of this whole show and convincing Dae Han not to drop out of the race if it was all going to mean nothing anyway? I would have enjoyed it a lot more if he dropped out on Joon Ho's blackmail/threat thing or on his own authority in order to take care of the family rather than this cause really and truly I think Dae Han would have been a better politician and it just feels so anticlimactic. He was leading the race from the start and you would think that if both candidates went through scandals that the one who was leading at the start would win cause any bump that the other got out of shame would go away! Ugh fine whatever. Despite that I really did enjoy these two episodes cause I was living for how good of a parent Dae Han was and how much he would do to keep Da Jung safe. I loved that Da Jung already knew and still thought of him as her father and that the biological father finally decided to step up and be a man and hid the truth for his family. The ending was so cute honestly with Dae Han's family and Soo Hyun's parents and the biological father all becoming one big family and I love that despite everything Dae Han still looks to be doing well cause at least he's still got jobs. Overall I'd give this show a 8 / 10!
The Running Mates: Human Rights Volunteer Team (10/16): "Running Investigator" shines light on the lives of those who have their human rights infringed upon from the perspective of an inspector for the Human Rights Commission, who has neither the right to investigate nor prosecute.

Wow this was a hella boring weekly case so much so that I pretty much have nothing to say about what happened! Part of this is that there was nothing in the episodes that were personal and nothing in the case that could be connected to something personal so we just watched a bunch of people lying. It felt like our cast this week was just running in circles and the saddest thing is if the the witnesses had just spoken out in the start that this case would have been so much easier. I still don't entirely understand why the police was at fault cause they showed up as soon as they really could and seemingly stopped the riot cause it was between the security agency and the union. The real criminals were the company who hired the security crew to beat up the union members and the security crew who actually did the beatings. I actually called it from the start that the company definitely planned all this though without the murder I'm assuming because I've seen enough shows to know that it's always the company or the rich chaebol's fault. I am curious though about the end of this week's episodes cause I couldn't tell what was really going on cause it started in the past and I think ended in present day. Did they find Yoon Seo's dad's body in one of those barrels? Or was that a scene from the past when Yoon Seo's sister's body was found? I was pretty sure that the sister died after hanging herself so it must be the first option.
DROPPED The Tale Of Nokdu (8/32): Jeon Nok Du is a man with extraordinary ambition to experience the big, wide world. With looks, brains, and athletic abilities, he is the epitome of perfection. After being swept up in an incident, he disguises himself as a woman to join a mysterious all-woman community and meets Dong Dong Joo. Dong Dong Joo is a prickly gisaeng trainee. Along with her fiery personality, she is clumsy, has absolutely no sense of rhythm, and is tone-deaf, which makes all of her peers look after her. However, she is skilled with her hands as she can make anything if given the right tools. Unable to stand injustice, she speaks her mind. Due to this fact, Jeon Nok Du ends up saving Dong Dong Joo from a dangerous situation. After that, she suddenly becomes Jeon Nok Du’s adopted daughter and he decides to live in the widow village for 1 year.

Ugh I wanted to like this show so badly but I just can't get into it the way others have! I'm cringed through almost all of this week's episode 9 to the degree that I couldn't finish it. I have this weird thing about second hand embarrassment in which I just can't watch when characters do something truly cringeworthy and that's what this week was because to some it might have just been comedy but to me I was dying. I mean seriously that whole thing where Nok Du pretended to fall off of her horse and then pretending to like the second lead just cause his fake wife was coming to see him? Shivers. I think I'm going to drop this show and like it low key sucks cause everyone else seems to like it but I just can't get into anything from the romance to the plot.
Vagabond (8/16): Cha Dal Gun becomes an awakened tiger in the face of his nephew’s death in a mysterious plane crash.

Something about this show is just not hitting it for me. I mean there's like nothing wrong that I can complain about with it cause from the writing to the story to the acting everything is excellent but it just doesn't get me all excited. I struggle every week to turn on the new episodes and I struggle every week about what to write about in my reviews. I'm honestly so exhausted of watching shows where money and power can literally do anything. I cannot for the life of me understand why the goddamn President of South Korea is so into John & Mark! Like the other company's jets are cheaper and they were seriously about to win the bid until J&M did some dirty dealing but now everyone's acting like they don't have any other option other than to pick J&M. Just when I was all excited for the NIS being badasses last week, this week they're back to being idiots to the degree where Director Ahn switched sides once again and now they're framing Gang as the mole instead of Min and it's going to be ridiculous to watch cause even though we have no evidence on Min being the spy, I'm sure they're going to pull evidence against Gang out of their asses. I'm also back on the Gi is suspicious train this week cause something about how he's been acting in Morocco doesn't feel right. I totally thought Min was Shadow but he apparently isn't and as I also expected the President's secretary is a mole too and I have a feeling Gi rounds out the trio. The way he went about finding Kim was just so awkwardly laidback and even when Hae Ri brought up good points he completely ignored them. I do still love Dal Gun and Hae Ri together though and I loved that he was the one to fill her with confidence when everyone else seemed to do nothing but put her down.

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Anyway, let's dive right in shall we?

Special 7: Special Crime Investigation Unit Episode 1

It's the start of the fall anime season so a lot of new shows aired either this week or last and this is one that I originally wasn't planning on checking out but then I was like why not and I'm actually kind of impressed with what I watched. It isn't that the plot is really unique or special or that I'm overly attached to any of the main characters but actually the fact that I'm fascinated by this world the show has built. I love police/investigation shows as you all know if you follow me at all but I also love fantasy and this show has shoved both together causing me to be enthralled. I'm so curious about the mystery of the Nine this show has laid out and getting to know all the main characters. I wonder if we'll get an episode every week that focuses on each of our mains while also having some sort of police investigation cause this one was all about Seiji who was the token good guy who's all for justice and possibly the least interesting of the batch of characters we got. I do think that he's probs not all that he seems cause he definitely didn't avoid that point-blank bullet that was shot at him making me wonder if in his flashback to the Nine attack that he somehow was turned into a magical creature. I mean we've met vampires and fairies but it's possible that there's more. On that note Ichinose might be my favorite for now cause you know I'm a sucker for tall dark and handsome but it does seem like he might just be human. I also low key love that the whole cast except for Seiji have known and worked with each other for a while so we're not starting with putting everyone together one-by-one.

Stand My Heroes: Piece Of Truth Episode 1

So yeah I am this idiot who decided to check out another reverse harem show. I'm such a bitch for these types of shows cause I mean who doesn't want to watch an anime with a bunch of super cute anime boys being all romantic? I had heard this was based off of a video game (the kind where you romance all the guys) and I have had my share of reverse harem shows so I know how everything goes down normally and yet I still found myself oddly disappointed with what I watched. I mean yes there are a lot of handsome men but there's so many that I couldn't keep track of who was who other than one or two that were drawn to be especially different. I also wanted to love the fact that all the characters had known each other for a while but that just meant that I didn't entirely know how everyone felt about each other. The main problem though for me was Rei and her complete ineptitude which I know is a cultural difference cause Japanese women are meant to be submissive and all that but I just couldn't stand what an idiot she was. The whole episode we're told that Rei is good at her job and smart in an out-of-the-box way but all I saw was someone who couldn't act like she should. I mean literally running out to stop some bullying is good and all but not while you're out on a sting! And then when the criminal was running away she chased after him when as it turns out she can't fight! What kind of a police officer can't fight? Despite that I'm going to keep watching cause I have hope that maybe her arc during this show will be to become more competent. I am also curious about whether this show will actually have a plot or some sort of overarching villain. I also low key hope that Rei ends up choosing one of the men cause most of the time reverse harems don't allow their female leads to like any of the men more than the others but sometimes it's clear who she loves. After this episode I'm partial to Aoyama tbh who is the most interesting of the hundreds of men we met.

      Batwoman Season 1 Episode 1

So the pilot of Batwoman has finally aired and honestly guys I went back and forth about whether I would be reviewing this show or not. I really wasn't a fan of what I saw of Kate Kane from the crossover last season and the promos for this show really made me feel like this wouldn't be my cup of tea but I thought why not check out the pilot at the very least? After doing so I have to say this show is pretty much exactly what I expected it to be. It's very heavy-handed with the whole female empowerment thing and it's definitely going to turn some people off but honestly I was mostly meh about the whole thing. It didn't wow me like the other Arrowverse pilots did but it also didn't bore me either so I will probs continue this for now. So far Kate is fine as a character (a bit too one-note in terms of acting but you know it's a pilot so I should let Ruby Rose settle in before I judge) but I'm really into her family dynamics more than anything. I love her contentious relationship with her father cause there's so much to unpack here cause he doesn't seem like a bad guy but just someone who's been grieving the loss of his family and unsure how to connect with his remaining daughter. It's why his marriage is especially interesting cause if he's still at a loss why did he remarry and why do I think the stepmom isn't all she seems? It does look like though that at some point Mary will probs join Kate and Luke down in the Batcave. I also loved Alice as a villain cause she felt like such a perfect Gotham rogue but I really thought she'd be the regular one-off pilot villain most of the Arrowverse shows have only to be shocked when it was revealed in episode 1 that she's actually Beth aka Kate's sister. I'll be interested to find out more about her and why she seems to hate the father so much.

The Flash Season 6 Episode 1

For a season premiere this wasn't the best but for a normal episode of the Flash, I had fun with it. I liked that we saw Barry and Iris continuing to struggle with the loss of their child cause it's not something that you can just get past especially since who even knows if she'll be born again or be the same person. I low key wish the show would go the Tornado Twins route but I also kind of feel for any of Barry and Iris's future kids cause like can you imagine growing up and hearing all about Nora and how much your parents had hoped you would be her? It was so in character of Barry to throw himself into work while Iris threw herself into trying to ignore what happened but I kinda wish that the show had shown us more about how this was affecting them on a personal level. We literally get any and all marital struggles between Oliver and Felicity but Barry and Iris can never have a storyline that lasts more than one episode. Cisco is still around despite no longer being Vibe and I just really can't understand why the show went this route other than maybe Carlos being like I don't want to wear the suit anymore. Caitlin and Frost went through some stuff too and it just highlights my problem with her meta-powers cause Caitlin and Frost are two separate personalities and like right now they are okay with Frost attempting to live her own life but like what if she falls in love but Caitlin is the main personality! I know a couple of seasons ago Caitlin kept being thrown at whatever new guy came around but it's been a few since she had a romantic storyline and she is the only one without a significant other and I'd like her to have one especially since Ralph is even starting out on his journey to meet Sue aka his future comic wife! I'll be curious to know if Ramsay is really the villain of this season or if he's just a stopgap until Crisis after which another villain will appear.

      Riverdale Season 4 Episode 1

The thing with this episode is that I want to say that this was honestly a terrible premiere cause we learned almost nothing about where this season is going but I can't begrudge this show for giving Luke Perry such a lovely sendoff. It does end up leaving me in a weird place where I don't know how to review this episode cause nothing truly happened other than Fred dying in a hit-and-run and everything that followed was in memory of him. Fred was driving upstate when he stopped to help a woman with her flat tire and was hit by a car, the driver whom we learned later was a kid who didn't even have his license. I assume that because Archie found out that it wasn't the father but the son who did it that he probably dropped the charges. On the way back FP gave them a police escort and the whole town lined up to send Fred off followed by a lovely funeral and a beautiful obituary written by Jughead. We did learn that Hiram paid for the entire service which is like red flags and I have to admit that I wondered if the hit-and-run might have been his doing at first before we learned who the culprit was. We also saw a glimpse of Alice which is interesting cause last we knew she had disappeared with the rest of the Farm last season but clearly she's okay and still undercover so that's good at least. I also had a thought as I was watching about how it's most likely that Archie will end up taking over Fred's construction business once he graduates cause I know he was worried about his future last season since he couldn't take the SATs having missed so much school and that feels like a lovely tribute to his father. I also wonder if Mary will end up sticking around in Riverdale cause Archie does need a parent though then again Betty and Veronica are both alone with their parents either dead or in jail or missing. Maybe Archie will just move in with Veronica or maybe he'll join Betty at the Jones's house.

      Assassin's Pride Episode 1

I had been looking forward to this anime airing cause it's synopsis just sounded so interesting. I mean romance with fantasy and magic? Sign me the hell up! I was hesitant though cause I'm actually really picky with anime cause I need a show to have a good plot alongside a good romance if there is any since I can't watch something meaninglessly which is what tends to happen in most anime. So far though I'm enjoying what I'm watching. This episode did feel a bit rushed in terms of character development cause the show obviously wanted to get from point A to point B but didn't have the time or episode count in order to let it happen naturally so we went from Kufa pitying Merida and ready to kill her to suddenly being devoted to her and sharing his mana. I can let this slide though cause I'm a sucker for a good romance and these two are pretty cute. I'm also really interested in this world. It seems like everyone lives in these tubes and they fight monsters but only nobles can wield mana and so they are the ones that become warriors and fighters. In the case of Merida she's actually the daughter of two commoners cause her mom cheated on her actual husband or so we're told but I wonder if it'll be a case of Merida just summoning her own mana in a climax moment later in the season. I mean if it was as simple as Merida being a bastard child, why would that evil organization (who I'm assuming might end up being the real antagonists of this show) kill her supposed real father? I'm also curious to know if Kufa sharing his mana will end up hurting him or if since he's the main lead that he's one of those over-powered heroes making him able to stand giving just a smidge of mana away.

      Titans Season 2 Episode 6

Good god this show is so incredible! I loved this week's episode, I love this version of Connor and I love that I was right about how this episode would go down. As expected we started from Connor escaping with Krypto and followed him as he tried to learn who he was and where he came from before ending back in San Francisco to miraculously save Jason. Like I said I adore the way Connor was written which tbh I've only really ever seen two other versions: Young Justice and Reign Of The Supermen. This Connor is a beautiful take that is totally different than the other two with a bit of comic book science but also a bit of realism. He's apparently got the memories of both Lex and Clark as well as some of their knowledge which leads to an interesting mix of him wanting to do good like Clark but using the rage from Lex. I loved that we met so many Superman characters like Eve and Mercy though no Lex which I sort of wanted from a Connor episode but I could also wait until later cause you know Connor is going to go back for Krypto. It was so Clark of Connor to save Jason after Eve told him not to help or be a hero cause it's like that goodness cannot be stopped and my goodness did you see the beaming smile on Connor's face after Jason thanked him? Fortunately for Connor, he found the perfect group of people to teach him about the world and how to be good! I want to give a shoutout to Joshua Orpin who plays Connor cause he was able to bring this earnest and childlike quality to the character. It does make me wonder how they're going to avoid the whole Superman thing cause Connor is so tied to Clark and like maybe Bruce will take on that helpful mentor role in Clark's place but please oh please show cast a Clark (it doesn't have to be Superman!) just so we can round out Connor's story.
