What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Anyway, let's dive right in shall we?

Welcome To Demon School Iruma-Kun Episode 1, 2 & 3

So as you can see by the fact that I'm reviewing 3 episodes this week, I really wasn't planning on checking this show out when I first heard about it but an anime YouTuber that I love was watching this one and he had nothing but good things to say so I figured why not check this show out and honestly I'm so freaking glad I did. This show is laugh out loud hilarious! I had full moments where I had to pause the video so I could finish busting a gut before I could continue. Now the concept for this show isn't anything new or original cause it's basically an isekai without the whole death part but something about the way the show is written all the way down to it's characters is just so much fun to watch. I love Iruma and how terrified he is to stand out cause he's a human in a demon world but at the same time manages to have such good luck that his meager skills end up making him look like an incredible demon. I was living for how he dodged enough attacks from Azz to make Azz look like he was beneath him and then accidentally summoning his teacher cause he's a human with no magic! Azz is fun enough with his over-the-top ability to try to work for Iruma but I really adore Clara who I thought at first that I might find a little annoying but ended up making me sympathize with her so much! I love that Iruma was the first person to want to be around Clara without wanting something from her and that Clara and Azz were the first people to want to be Iruma's friends. I also want to give a shoutout to Sullivan for be the absolute weirdest and giving me the most reason to laugh. Also Iruma is totally going to end this show as the new Demon King right?

Special 7: Special Crime Investigation Unit Episode 3

For a second I thought that this might be a Nijou episode cause it started out with his nightmare and in a way it was though we did spend most of the episode on the case of the week. I didn't actually mind this cause beyond worrying about the case we also learned more about this world and possibly a smidge about our main villains. Nijou's flashback was interesting cause not only did it show that he thinks that Ichinose might have gotten his older brother killed but also that he appeared human in the flashback which makes me wonder if he became an elf through some sort of bite (like a vampire or a werewolf) or if elves had the ability to hide their pointy ears when they want to. I also have a feeling that the brother might be the one who saved Seiji's life cause I can't imagine whoever it was isn't an important character. The other major thing is my continuing belief that Seiji isn't all that he seems cause once again he was able to take on a large amount of magic radiating off of one of the spells in that building and it didn't hurt him and I'm just sitting here wondering if Ichinose or any of the others is also noting this down in the back of their minds. Also straight up but Public Safety is the damn worst cause even if you hate another police squad, ignoring them when they find bombs is ridiculous regardless of whether or not they're big or small bombs! Ugh. I'm just glad that Special 7 will now get all the praise for finding and disarming their bombs while Public Safety ran around like chickens without their heads. The final thing to note about this episode was that we saw a guy who seemed similar to the supposed head of The Nine that Special 7 arrested and that they seemed to be just testing out how magic worked by hiring B to combine tech with magic.

Stand My Heroes: Piece Of Truth Episode 3

We seem to have learned a bit more about what this show's possible conspiracy is though I find myself caring less and less about the structure of the story being that Rei meets new guys every week. Like I've said before there's plenty of men in this show already so we should turn our focus to the plot instead! Rei accidentally discovered something that she wrote off fairly quickly but I think might be more important than she first thought. It seems as though every candidate for STAND was somehow related to a drug case in the past and it's possible that they might all be related to this Anonymous Case that we heard about last week. Maki was kidnapped during it and it seems like Sara might have died from it and the reason it was all brushed under the rug has to due with the fact that the rich and powerful might be the drug smugglers. Perhaps the big secret last week was that the leader of REVEL or all of REVEL are in on drug smuggling or at least working for them which is why Hiyama made that sketchy phone call and seemed to expect Rei to reach out to him but didn't actually want to work with her. The new drug that the others of the narcotics division found is also probably important cause it's a copy of a popular drug from around ten-ish years ago which fits in timeline wise for Sara's accident 16 years ago and Maki's kidnapping 15 years ago so I have a feeling that this new drug smuggling operation has brought back a drug from the past and someone high up knows something which is why they are so adamant to build STAND and use the rich and famous. I low key have to keep going to previous episodes cause the way this show is dropping hints is making me crazy and I cannot for the life of me keep track of all our characters!

Batwoman Season 1 Episode 3

I'm so glad we finally got the full Batwoman suit! It was about damn time cause I was getting so tired of how awkward and clunky the suit without the wig looked! I also loved this episode and that I was right last week in guessing that we'd get a villain of the week episode rather than an Alice centric one but having said that it wasn't like Alice wasn't in the episode at all which is actually what I expected tbh. I actually really liked that the first villain Kate faced was one who hated Batman cause it totally made sense that if she was going to run around in the Batman suit that his old enemies would pop up. I also liked that this was the reason for Kate to change up the suit cause in the previews it looked a little like the preachy version of feminism that I don't love where she said something about a man not needing to take the credit for a woman's work so I was so thankful that the real reason was something more meaty. As a sidebar I loved the nod to Riddler and the Hush storyline with how Tommy paid Nygma to get Batman's true identity and no matter how insane Tommy was (I mean who blames Batman for actually saving a parent's life??) he was fun to watch. I still really love Mary and I super want her to be the one to figure out Kate's identity before Sophie or even the father cause one of my favorite moments this week was Mary and Kate teasing each other in the elevator before Tommy's party and Mary deserves better than being looked down by everyone around her. I mean seriously so she likes to party and be on social media. Why does that make everyone else think she's got no brain? On a similar note I really dislike Sophie and I'm super not into the idea that she's going to be Kate's endgame so I'm just waiting for Renee Montoya to show up cause she and Maggie Sawyer were Kate's comic book girlfriends but since Maggie was already used over on Supergirl, Renee is the only one left. I especially don't like the weird thing that's happening between Sophie and her husband cause it feels a little too close to Sophie closeting herself than being bi and I'm super uncomfortable with that on a show like this that should be better than that.

The promo for next week shows that Batwoman will be facing a new villain called Magpie and for a second I wondered if that was Alice in a costume but I think it is a different person honestly. It also looks like maybe Kate's dad (who's name I'll learn one of these days lol) gets angry with Kate's stepmom making me wonder if maybe he learned one of her many secrets. I still think she'll end up being the ultimate villain!

The Flash Season 6 Episode 3

This episode felt like it was finally placing down the pieces of the puzzle for the season which was interesting cause usually that's an episode 1 job. We met the new Harrison Wells, and got the villain of the season interacting with Barry. The new Harrison Wells is probs going to be called Nash (his middle name) and he seems like an Indiana Jones parody who's on this Earth hunting something called Eternium and tbh though Iris and Cisco acted like he was being an idiot, it sounds a lot like something Crisis related. Perhaps it's even related to Barry and the Speed Force cause if Wells was reading it on Iris, it might be cause Barry spends the most time with Iris. We also spent a little more time with Ramsey and I know I haven't exactly been fair about how I don't like him but I think I mean that as a person not particularly as a villain yet cause he hasn't truly become the villain though I can totally see his trajectory. He claims that he's still dying from HLH but he became a meta two weeks ago and I was curious about his powers and it looks like maybe he can push dark matter into healthy humans and then reabsorb their blood in order to heal himself? What a damn lame power tbh. I do have to admit I was super relieved that Barry didn't out himself to Ramsey cause you know how much he sucks at secret identities. Frost is still trying to live her life and I still really hate this storyline cause I can't see how it'll end. Will Caitlin just stop living or now will they make a deal about how to split their time like 12 hours to Caitlin and 12 to Frost or like every other day or week they switch? Ralph also had a storyline this week and can I say again just how much I adore Ralph which I really didn't expect to say when he first showed up but he's evolved into one of the kindest guys on this show and I loved his talk with him mom about loving themselves. I still low key ship him with Caitlin (or Frost) but I'm curious to know when Sue will appear.

It looks like Flash is doing another Halloween themed spooky episode next week and I remember loving the Ragman one from last season so we'll see about this one. It also looks like Frost will still be shadowing Flash which at first I was like why not the others and then I realized that other than Barry and Caitlin, I think Ralph is the only meta left now. By the by do we think Wally will come back this season? I mean if Barry "dies" then it'd probs be a good thing to have another speedster around? Also are we really supposed to assume that Harry and Jessie actually died in the anti-matter wave over on Arrow cause they didn't appear this week sooooo....

Arrow Season 8 Episode 2

What a crazy episode! I don't know what's what anymore tbh but I'm so looking forward to next week! I was totally wrong in thinking that Oliver would be jumping from Earth to Earth on Monitor missions cause not only did we come back to Earth 1 this week but it definitely looks like we'll be sticking to Earth 1 next week. I also really love where this episode took Oliver. He started out completely horrified in what he perceived to be his failure over on Earth 2 and thus was extremely mission focused for most of the episode to the harm of others and ended up questioning whether or not the Monitor even was a force for good. Based on the final scene of the episode, I do really think that the Monitor is out to do good but I think he's an ends justifies the means type of person so if he has to let an entire universe of people die, he will. It's horrific cause we've gotten to know Earth 2 so well and that's definitely why the Arrowverse chose to show us that Earth get destroyed since we're more emotionally connected to that one compared to if for example Earth 17 got destroyed. I also really like the idea that he's gotten to Lyla cause Lyla is definitely more I'll do what I have to in order to get results than Oliver is now but I still want to know what the Monitor's plan is! We've got a scientist who's clearly not afraid to cross lines and dwarf star particles. Clearly he wants to build something but what? I also loved seeing Katana again and China White and it's definitely cause this is our last season that we're calling back old favorites and I love it. The flashes of Felicity and Mia and Oliver's family throughout the episode were amazing too cause it reminded us that although Emily isn't here this season, Felicity's such an integral part of the show. We also got more flash-forward stuff that I don't care about and Laurel came to terms (as much as a person can) about the loss of her Earth.

THEA!!! Thea is back next week! I assumed she would be tbh cause like not only is this the last season so of course she needs to appear at least once but since we were going to Nanda Parbat and the League of Assassins, Thea had to be there! I'm not entirely sure what else we'll get from the episode cause technically there's no League so who can Oliver ask about the Monitor but I'm sure there's some secret hidden room surrounded with booby traps somewhere in the base that has all the answers!

Riverdale Season 4 Episode 3

So this was a mixed bag of an episode for me cause while I did love parts of the show, others were not my cup of tea. I'm still not sure what Jughead's prep school has to do with the rest of Riverdale cause it really pulls him away from the rest of the crazy but that doesn't stop me from enjoying what I'm watching anyway. There's just something so fun about the school dynamics cause it's been forever since anyone on Riverdale acted like a high-schooler. I loved Jughead putting that Bret in his place though poor Moose was the one to suffer. Bret's a bit of a moron though isn't he cause first of all why in the world would you try to bully a guy from a gang? Secondly if you decide to use his friend against him, why show your hand so early? Like dude save it for a real moment! Back in Riverdale Archie and his mom fought about whether or not he should make his boxing gym into a community center for at-risk youths cause his mom wanted him to be thinking of the future while Archie was thinking of the present and Veronica tried to repeatedly help him because she was trying to distance herself from the Lodge name by doing good. Archie's story was meh as it usually is but I liked the way Veronica's ended with her taking her grandfather's last name instead of her mother's cause it's a lovely tribute but also an excellent way to take a stab at her father. Betty meanwhile may have taken the prize for dumbest plan when she rolled up to the Farm with all of Edgar's demands and expected him to just honor the deal which like duh Betty he's not going to do. But once again everything turned out okay with Alice shooting Edgar and Betty saving all the Farmies though someone seems to still be blackmailing the Coopers through those confession tapes Edgar had and I have a feeling it'll be either Fangs or Evelyn cause Fangs was pissed at shit with Betty for betraying the Farm and we never saw Evelyn again after Betty knocked her out. Also Cheryl is like officially losing her mind and I'm so glad Toni found out cause she needs like actual help.

Next week is the Halloween themed episode of Riverdale and it looks like Cheryl thinks that Jason's ghost is haunting them while Betty is being stalked by someone. I have a feeling that Toni is doing whatever to Cheryl in order to get her to think that Jason's ghost is in the house so that he can tell her to let him go and put him back in his grave to rest. As for Betty, it's probably the same person trying to blackmail her but I'm still not sure who that could be.

Assassin's Pride Episode 3

You know what I adore about this show? Even though Merida is supposed to be young and a bit naive and the tiniest bit a damsel, she's still able to problem solve and be brave in the face of danger. When Merida and Elise were captured this week, I thought we would end up waiting around until Kufa magically realized his charge was kidnapped and rescue her but to my surprise Merida was a badass even with her limited options. I loved that she made Elise feel better and wasn't scared of what was happening and that she was the one to figure out how to create a magical weapon to help even if their mana was turned off. She's written to be so much more than a one-dimensional character and I love that about her. It seems like her father didn't fall for that trick last week during the competition but I still can't figure out how he's so damn sure that she couldn't have found her own power within. Just because Kufa refuses to kill her, he keeps hiring more and more assassins to kill her and I'm just confused. Of course I love seeing Kufa be all protective and is it any wonder that Merida is falling in love with him though poor Kufa has no idea cause obviously he still sees Merida as a child. Do we know how old she's supposed to be cause she's not exactly drawn as a child child and I would have guessed like 15 or 16. On another note I was wondering for the past two weeks if Kufa sharing his mana would limit his strength but according to the fight this week it doesn't seem to have affected Kufa at all cause he seems to have a bottomless pit of power having to do with the fact that he's a vampire interestingly enough. I do suppose it's possible that since Merida's mana was suppressed that maybe he had all his power and that when she is actively using it it'll be harder for him but that's a question for later.

Titans Season 2 Episode 8

This episode finally gave us the backstory that we so desperately needed about Jericho and the old Titans and I have to say watching it, I can't entirely see how Slade killing Jericho was either Dick or the Titans' fault. Maybe it's cause I really expected the story to be darker but honestly the Titans were all very kind to Jericho and they even told him the truth about everything from who his dad was to who they were to how they started out using him which kind of takes the wind out of the sails of the idea that the Titans were bad. I mean yes of course it's always wrong to go after family whether you're a villain or a hero but in the end Dick just wanted to give Jericho a home just like he wanted to give Rose, Rachel, Gar, and Jason one. To be honest I low key blame Jericho's mom more than anything cause she of all people knew what Slade was and she basically gave him permission to go and murder all of the Titans to get Jericho back instead of doing the logical thing and giving Jericho time before reaching out to him. I mean what else would a kid do if he found out his father was an assassin for hire and his mother had lied to him his whole life?? Slade was also the idiot for deciding to fight Dick in the same place as Jericho was cause there are so many chances for him to accidentally hit Jericho instead. It was honestly just like sweet innocent Jericho to jump in the middle of a kill shot for Dick and it breaks me up inside cause I adored him (so much more than Rose) and I wish that he was the Wilson who would join the Titans. I know a lot of people were thinking that maybe it was Jericho last week who was pulling the pranks like an angry spirit but after watching this episode, I'm not entirely sure that even if Ghost!Jericho was hanging around that he would be angry or hate the Titans. I also understand Dick's guilt a little cause I mean yeah it's true that if he hadn't gone to that church then Jericho wouldn't have died but Slade shouldn't have tried to kill Dick at that point either. Like say it worked out the way he wanted to and Slade killed Dick in front of Jericho, how would that show his son that he's not the heartless monster that the Titans told Jericho he was?

Next week we'll probs be going back to present day and I'm really curious to know how Jason will react to Dick's story and whether he'll tell the other baby Titans.
