KDRAMA

A Love So Beautiful (2/24)
: Cha Heon is a student at Chun Ji High School who has both good looks and brains. He appears to be a cold character, but he is actually someone with a warm heart who is awkward at expressing himself well. Shin Sol Yi is a bright and bubbly 17-year-old who has a crush on Cha Heon. She openly confesses her love to Cha Heon continuously, and she is a clumsy but lovable character. Woo Dae Sung is a talented swimmer who transfers to Chun Ji High School and falls for Shin Sol Yi. He does not express his feelings for her and quietly stays by her side.

So this show is actually a remake of the cdrama with the same name and I wasn't entirely sure I would be checking it out when I first heard about it. I attempted to watch the cdrama a few years ago cause I know it's a lot of people's number 1 cdrama but I just am not into the whole concept of a cold male lead if you don't know that about me already and the lead in the cdrama didn't feel like a tsundere as much as an ass. I ended up taking the plunge to watch this version cause of So Ju Yeon who I adored in Dr Romantic 2 and having watched the first two episodes I have to say that though Heon is a lot kinder in this version though I'm still not sure if he's the kind of male lead I would love. I still worry that I'll have SLS cause I honestly just prefer the kinder second lead. I also want to mention how at least in these first two episodes this show is repeating the cdrama beat by beat and I wonder if it'll change at some point or stick to the same. It's also crazy watching Ju Yeon in this show alongside Lovestruck In The City cause it's hilarious how different the tones of these shows are. I wonder if this is a new thing Netflix is doing in making all these short form web dramas rather than longer kdramas?
Awaken (10/16): About a series of mysterious incidents that are connected to an incident that took place in a village 28 years ago. Do Jung Woo is a capable and legendary team leader of a special task force at the National Police Agency. He has messy hair, a constant slouch, and sucks on a lollipop all day like a kid, but he has a mysterious secret behind his sly exterior. Gong Hye Won is a passionate police officer who does not let anything get in her way. Behind her pretty face is a hot temper that won’t cool down unless she says what she needs to say. She is one of the strongest and best fighters on her team, and can drink the others under the table, but she also has a surprisingly clumsy side. Jamie is a detective on loan from the FBI. She was adopted as a child with almost no memories of her life before, but she returns to Korea to solve the serial killer case that is related to those lost memories from 28 years ago.

I think we've pretty much solved the mystery of what's going on in this show this week so all that's left is to catch the serial killer and the foundation! As it turned out it was a different personality of Jae Woong that did the killing at White Night Village back then and it was also that personality that is doing the killing now. Jamie and Jung Woo were actually the two kids off to the side holding hands in the flashback and the older guy that Jae Woong was hugging is the man who beats Jae Woong on the regular cause his evil personality has told him too. Like Jung Woo, Jae Woong's goal is to get rid of every single person connected to the foundation but he's also tossing in a few extra kills that make him happy though I think his final targets are going to be Jamie and Jung Woo cause he blames them for leaving him after they escaped. I am curious as to how he's planning on doing it though cause as we saw the way it works is that his victim has to take a pill and then they can lucid dream but I wonder if the whole pill thing is just a placebo in order to keep Jae Woong's victims from realizing that something supernatural is going on. What's crazy interesting is how protective Jung Woo was of Jamie back then and it breaks my heart that Jamie doesn't remember him and that's probs why they're so indifferent to each other now. I really am waiting for Jamie to awaken cause she really does know the least out of everyone in this show and she's one of the most connected to the mystery! I do really wish the main trio would actually talk to each other cause they each have a piece of the puzzle separately. Jung Woo is following the kids while Hye Won was following her dad (after she realized that he was a part of White Night back in the day) while Jamie has figured out that Jae Woong is the third White Night child.
Hush (6/16)
: “Hush” is an office drama about newspaper reporters and their everyday struggles, problems, and ethical dilemmas. Han Jun Hyeok is a veteran reporter for a newspaper. He first became a reporter to pursue justice, but he is now conflicted between idealism and pragmatism. Han Jun Hyeok must also deal with personal issues as a husband and father. Lee Ji Soo is a bold intern reporter who isn’t afraid to say what needs to be said, even during a job interview. When she meets Han Jun Hyeok as her mentor, she begins to dream of becoming a true journalist.

I'm so utterly confused with what kind of person Ji Soo is! I mean apparently it's common knowledge in this show that Jun Hyeok's article about Ji Soo's dad was written by someone else so why in the actual hell is Ji Soo pissed at Jun Hyeok? Shouldn't she be trying to hunt down who actually caused her father to die?? I really wish that this show would have gone the Pinocchio route in which the young up-and-comer admitted the truth to their mentor and was like you didn't help but you're not my target either so let's work together. I do think that now that all the cards have been laid on the table and the digital side of Daily Korea is officially up that this show might end up becoming what I wanted this to be from the start. I want to see Ji Soo and Jun Hyeok work hard to hunt down stories and publish them not whatever this mess of internal office politics was. I do really really hope though that this show doesn't touch a romantic relationship between the two with a ten foot pole cause Jun Hyeok is seriously old enough to be Ji Soo's dad and I kind of liked her vibe with Kyung Woo anyway. In other news I'm almost completely sure that the mole in Digital is Joo An cause it makes no sense that a guy who's so ambitious would have disregarded Jun Hyeok's question about which desk he would want to work with cause I'm sure that it's extremely hard to move around without this golden ticket.
Handmade Love (6/8)
: A romance fantasy that deals with Woven who has come down to the human world to heal human sorrows with clothes.

We're actually starting to see the romance in this show come to the forefront cause it's clear that Woven is constantly aware of Sa Rang in a way that Joey is starting to notice though of course Sa Rang is completely oblivious to it. It was hilarious seeing how flustered he was around her when she was so interested in his cologne and the way he watches her when she's not looking makes me smile. With the finale of this show so close I do wonder if we'll end the show with Woven heading back to Heaven or if we'll end it on a more open ending like Woven, Sa Rang, and Joey will continue making people happy offscreen. The reason I ask this is unlike in Hotel De Luna or Mystic Pop Up Bar, I can't think of whether we got a time limit or a specific number of people Woven needs to help but at the end of this week we saw another god appear and she made a comment about Sa Rang being the reason that Woven doesn't want to leave the human world. In other news this week's case was totally heartbreaking though cause it showcased a hugely popular actress who lost her way and her dreams cause everyone was only interested in her beauty rather than her acting and even when she wanted to focus on acting, they wouldn't let her. In the end she was able to gather up her courage and with a little help from Woven she was able to leave her terrible agency and follow her dreams.
Homemade Love Story (60/100)
: Three families live under one roof at a boarding house called Samgwang Villa. Sun Jeong's family lives a pure and simple life and doesn't have a lot of money. Jung Hoo's family is rich but is far from peaceful. Jung Won's family looks perfect from the outside but is actually quite rocky. Others join these families at Samgwang Villa, each with their own stories. What is the meaning of family in this day and age, with so many single-person households and people choosing not to get married? Let's meet the people who open their hearts to one another to live and love as a family in Homemade Love Story.

I have to say that I'm getting a little tired of Jung Won. You would think after everything's said and done that the absolute most important thing for her would be to protect Chae Woon. I don't care if you love your company or being rich if you have to toss aside the daughter that you mourned for decades. I have a feeling that it's all for the sake of dragging this story out but haven't any of these people learned that the most important thing in a crisis is to be the one to break it? Like I know that Jung Won had Chae Woon out of wedlock but they could just frame the story to make it sound more romantic something like oh I was going to marry the man who gave me Chae Woon but then she died and we drifted apart and I found solace in Seo Ah's dad. It'll also help that Chae Woon is dating Jae Hee who's the heir to a large conglomerate too! In other news I'm glad though that Sun Jeong told the truth but I'm starting to wonder if the Chairwoman was behind more than we first thought. Like what if Pil Hong really meant to leave Soo Yeon with Sun Yeong for a hot second but the Chairwoman swooped in like a vulture and ruined things? Idk it might just be wishful thinking that I have after seeing Pil Hong's heart melt around Chae Woon. We also found out about Joon Ah being Jae Hee's friend though no one but Chae Woon and Jae Hee know that he's also Seo Ah's brother. I still really adore his loveline with Hae Deun and I low key want him to meet and approve of Chae Woon so that Seo Ah's brain explodes more after seeing Chae Woon "steal" her brother too. I'm serious Seo Ah is a grown ass adult throwing tantrums like a child and literally no one sees anything wrong with it?
Live On (7/8)
: Baek Ho Rang is the most popular girl in high school. Everybody wants to be her friend, and all of the boys dream of winning her heart. Although she is famously aloof, she is also a star on social media – with the whole school seemingly following her every post. But when a mysterious individual arrives online, she is caught off-guard. This person seems to know all of Baek Ho Rang’s deepest secrets, and is seemingly armed with all sorts of information about her that she’d rather was kept a secret forever! Desperate for answers, she seeks out the help of Go Eun Taek, the meticulous, right-minded head of the school’s broadcasting club. However, in order to gain his assistance, she discovers that she will have to become a regular club member – a fact that eventually brings her together with a group of students she never thought she’d consider friends. Can she solve the mystery of the online poster? And could joining the club eventually lead to romance?

I'm honestly so thankful that we finished the whole bullying storyline this week rather than drag it out until the finale cause I couldn't stand Jin Hui running around like she won. To add another layer to her insanity she apparently tried to be Ho Rang's friend back in middle school but Ho Rang actually didn't know who she was so she ignored her which Jin Hui basically took that as a declaration of war. I was exasperated with Ho Rang for staying quiet for so long but it was all worth it when she finally told Eun Taek the truth and then subsequently the whole school. What surprised me though was how quickly everyone ended up believing Ho Rang over Jin Hui cause I really thought that the photos Soo Hyun deleted from Jin Hui's phone would come back around as the proof they needed but I wonder if it's cause this show is a web drama rather than a full one which is why the show just had all it's characters play along? I mean you would think that after the amount of times Ho Rang was accused of something that eventually the kids would be like enough is enough and we need proof of these rumors to believe the truth. Either way I'm really glad that all of Ho Rang's friends (and her mom which was sweet cause for all that she's absent, she still trusts in her daughter's character) believed in her until the end and I really hope that next week Soo Hyun and Ho Rang will be able to finally reconcile as well.
Lovestruck In The City (3/17)
: Lovestruck in the City is a realistic portrayal of young people who pursue romance and happiness while struggling to get by in a busy, competitive urban environment. Park Jae Won is an honest man, a passionate architect and a lover of city alleyways. His hobby is collecting more hobbies. A romantic at heart, he cannot forget a certain woman. This thief of his heart and his camera had disappeared like a fleeting midsummer night’s dream. Lee Eun Oh is an ordinary woman who temporarily reinvents herself as the spontaneous and free spirited Yun Seon Ah. She takes off to a remote place on an impulse and falls in love with Jae-won under this new identity.

I take back what I said about being afraid that this show would be showing us Rin Yi and Gyung Joon falling out of love cause honestly I don't know if the show will spend any of it's limited time on a breakup when the whole thing feels so subtle and understated. Like if this were a normal kdrama length then maybe I could see all the dramatics but this show gives off the vibe that it's different so I don't know if we'll be going that deep. I do seriously think those two are so cute though and how much they adore each other in a comfortable way and their makeout scene was high key sexier than it should have been! Meanwhile we saw a lot more of Eun Oh and Jae Won and the more we see the more I think that Eun Oh's not the best person cause you really should clear it with the person you're about to sleep with over whether it's just a one-night stand or the start of a relationship but I think that's she so full of insecurities that she self-sabotages. I'm pretty sure that like Jae Won she fell in love but she was so afraid that he wouldn't like the regular everyday her since she was playing up the whimsy side with vacation her but I think that Jae Won was more interested in the moments where she was more understated and normal than the manic pixie girl she was most of the time. The interesting thing is how Eun Oh seems to know who Jae Won is and now they both know the other is participating in this documentary so I'll be curious how they meet up again.
Mr Queen/Queen Cheorin (6/20)
: A male chef has risen up the ranks to find a job cooking for the country’s top politicians in the South Korean presidential residences, the Blue House. He is something of a dreamer – but one day finds himself in the body of a young queen from Korea’s past, Kim So Yong. Kim So Yong’s husband is the reigning monarch, King Cheol Jong. However, he is only king in name – the late King Sunjo’s Queen, Sun Won, has taken advantage of Cheol Jong’s better nature, and is ruling the realm in his name. Queen Sun Won’s brother Kim Jwa Guen also has designs on power. However, Kim So Yong soon discovers that King Cheol Jong harbors secrets, and is not as gentle and meek as he seems…

This show is the one I look forward to the most which is odd cause there's no romance involved whatsoever but as time goes on the show reminds me more and more of everything I loved in Please Come Back Mister. It's absolutely hysterical to watch So Yong baffle everyone in the vicinity but I love that she's shrewd too cause she can pick up all the schemes around her when it matters. I mentioned last week that something wasn't right about Hwa Jin and this week I'm completely sure of it. At first I thought that she might just straight up be too dumb to realize that she's being used but now I think that she's been scheming all along. I have a feeling that the thing that made Cheol Jong love Hwa Jin when they were kids was actually something So Yong did. Maybe she saved him after his family died and Hwa Jin swooped in and pretended that she did it so So Yong came into the palace thinking that she would meet her childhood love again only to find that the King thinks that someone else was her. The totally hilarious thing is that the King is currently falling for Bong Hwan in So Yong's body but it's possible that when So Yong's soul comes back that she can be happy with Cheol Jong. Part of me isn't all that interested though cause I kind of like the relationship between So Yong and Byung In since the setup is everything I adore in period dramas with an ambitious ruthless man who's soft for one person. Like in modern day I prefer the soft lead but for some reason when it's a period drama I'm over here like yesss the darker the better.
Please Don't Date Him (7/10)
: Seo Ji-Sung is a programmer on the A.I. Development Team at Smart Home Appliances. While working on a refrigerator, she accidentally inserts a chip belonging to the National Intelligence Service. Instead of a program that will rate the freshness of vegetables, it will root out the undesirables from a dating pool, potentially saving people heartache. Ji-Sung herself wants to fall in love, but with the right man. Despair sets in when her program determines that her oh-so-perfect fiancĂ©, Jung-Han, is not her Prince Charming after all! Jung Gook-Hee is a firefighter who spends little time on social media, leaving Ji-Sung with little data to analyze. She meets firefighter Gook-Hee, who has no social media presence. This leaves Ji-Sung without a shred of data for her program to analyze. She can't help but be skeptical, not knowing a thing about Gook-Hee's past. Should Ji-Sung take a leap of faith with him, even if it could mean another heartbreak for her?

This week Ji Sung and Gook Hee officially decided to date but the interesting thing was in the fact that Gook Hee is clearly head over heels but he really struggles to open up. Like I get not wanting to tell Ji Sung that Mi Hyun's boyfriend is abusive cause that's none of her business but he couldn't even say that he was helping her with a problem or that he doesn't like her romantically but she needs him as a firefighter? It's going to be the same problem later when Gook Hee's past comes back up cause this is a drama so of course it will and Gook Hee won't say anything leading Ji Sung to come to her own conclusions. Of course one of the best things about Ji Sung is the fact that she is so quick to admit when she's wrong and that she tries to hard not to come up with theories on her own and wants others to explain to her directly. Having said all that the kiss they shared this week was actually everything and I was living. It's also noteworthy that Ye Seul though she at first decided to dump Yoo Jin ended up proposing to him but I'm actually really confused about that cause the two literally just started dating not to mention the fact that he's insane! I do have to say though that Gi Hyun and Dong Jin are super precious and I want her to divorce her husband and be with Dong Jin instead.
Run On (6/16)
: Ki Sun Gyeom is a sports agent who was once a popular sprinter on the national team but was forced to quit due to legal issues. Oh Mi Joo writes translated subtitles for movies. She was thrilled to see her name listed among the credits when she first started. Ki Sun Gyeom had just quit sprinting when he encountered Oh Mi Joo, who felt that destiny most certainly brought them together. Seo Dan Ah is the CEO of a sports agency and rightful successor to the Seomyung Group. Despite this, she is held back from advancing in the company due to her gender. She fiercely wishes to reclaim what is rightfully hers and lives her life accordingly. Lee Young Hwa is a university art major who enjoys movies and drawing will soon enter his life. Could romance be in the cards for these two couples?

This show is seriously just be called the Dan Ah show with how she seriously steals the spotlight every time she appears! This week we learn that she's actually a lesbian but I'm not entirely sure if this is true or if like the others said she's using it to get out of an arranged marriage which would be ironic cause it's not like her dad has stopped sending blind dates for her. I'm also a little confused by this cause I thought that she was building a love line with Young Hwa though then again maybe that's just the synopsis hinted at it more than Dan Ah having any interest but at the same time I really don't want this show to play around with the LGBTQ community like Sweet Munchies did. Can Dan Ah be bi and not straight please show if they are setting her up with Young Hwa?? In all honesty I do have a little bit of faith cause we also got an asexual character in May this week and I can't imagine that this show would fall flat in another area when it's doing so well with representation. In other news that article that Woo Shik did an interview for finally came out which I guess was only delayed to give us some angst rather than any shady dealings so his reputation came back but he still decided to retire like Woo Shik out of solidarity. I was glad when the real bullies were outed but I can't help but feel like nothing's actually going to change cause even the association doesn't care so who will give them their comeuppance? Mi Joo also confessed her feelings for Sun Gyeom this week though she was drunk but my favorite thing was watching how Sun Gyeom was utterly confused watching her live her day-to-day life.
DROPPED The Goddess Of Revenge (9/16): In the world of the rich and powerful, one wrong move can destroy everything; a sad lesson Kang Hae Ra soon learns. Once a reporter working hard to support the family she had been forced to care for at a very young age, Hae Ra found her way into the limelight after marrying one of the country’s most famous celebrities. Now the center of everyone’s attention, Hae Ra has become one of the nation’s hottest influencers. But when she finds herself wrapped up in an unfounded scandal, Hae Ra’s reputation plummets. Hitting rock bottom, Hae Ra wants revenge, but she’s not the only one desperately searching for a way to bring down those who have hurt her. A talented lawyer with a one hundred percent success rate and a heart of ice, Cha Min Joon is not a man to be trifled with. But when those who wish to bring him low throw his family into ruin, he turns his full attention towards exacting his revenge. While Hae Ra and Min Joon focus on revenge, the sole heir to the FB Group, Kim Tae On, is on a mission of her own, to secure her position as the company’s new head. But going up against her father isn’t easy, as one simple mistake could ruin everything. Meanwhile, the tenacious detective Ku Eun Hye takes on a case that could either make or break her. As each individual begins their respective journey towards success and revenge, their paths soon cross. Realizing there’s much more going on than any of them first believed, each delves deeper but what they find shakes them to their core. Now on a mission to fight against those who seek to destroy them, Hae Ra and Min Joon will stop at nothing to have their revenge. But can they succeed against such powerful foes?

Honestly guys I couldn't even force myself to check this week out cause I've realized that I'm watching way too many shows at one time and so it's time to start letting the ones that don't make me happy go and that's what this was. I can't even narrow down the problem cause nothing about this show was something I hated but I also just didn't love anything either. There's no point in sticking around to watch a show that I'm truly meh about.

CDRAMA

Legend Of Fei (26/51)
: Several years ago, the emperor secretly ordered the hero Li Hui to form a mountain stronghold consisting of bandits in order to keep the pugilist world under control. His daughter, Li Jin Rong, leads the stronghold after Li Hui's death and gives birth to Zhou Fei after marrying scholar Zhou Yi Tang. Zhou Fei's attempts at escaping have always ended in failure, though Li Jin Rong allows her daughter to go and experience the world outside after her 16th birthday. She meets Xie Yun again after he saves her from drowning during her first escape attempt, and they embark on an adventurous journey through Wulin together.

We're actually a little past halfway through this show now and it's interesting cause I really went on a full rollercoaster of emotions. The beginning was super slow and I didn't exactly love that The Fortress Of Forty-Eight kept being so completely outmatched by the Demons over and over again but I ended up loving the way everything made sense and connected in the end. I called it up top that the only way the Fortress could be attacked was with a mole and that mole ended up being Kou Dan who killed the Fisherman and took over the Fortress's secret information service. Fortunately Fei and the others were able to hold off until her mom showed up and won the day. What sucks though is that Xie Yun used his martial arts so now the poison that had been sealed off in his blood is running rampant. The thing with Xie Yun and his secret identity is really interesting cause I'm pretty sure he wasn't lying about being the Emperor of the last dynasty or that the General wants him to lead troops again but at the same time at some point he decided to learn martial arts and was poisoned so he can't use martial arts. The Demons know him by one name and the General knows him by another and I'm just sitting here like so confused. At the end of this week we saw Xie Yun leaving the Fortress but I'm not too worried cause as soon as Fei realizes he left, I'm sure she'll run after him cause it's too late for both of them to stay away since they're in love.
FINISHED Twisted Fate Of Love (43/43): The oldest of friends, Third Prince Pang Yu and Minister Feng Xi have spent a lifetime caring for each other as brothers. As different from each other as night and day, the two friends were an unlikely pair but their friendship has successfully stood the test of time. But their lifetime of friendship begins to crumble, after meeting the passionate and lovely Dong Yue.A brave general in the Dingyuan Rebellion, Dong Yue was sent back in time to stop a war that would claim the lives of countless innocents. It was during her travels through time that she met both Feng Xi and Pang Yu. Though Dong Yue’s presence in Pang Yu’s life inspired him to involve himself in the political workings of his family, his sweet disposition somehow never managed to capture Dong Yue’s heart. On the other hand, Feng Xi’s roguish charms touched Dong Yue's heart in a way she had never experienced before. Though caring for both of the friends, it wasn’t her mission to travel to time simply to fall in love. There was a war-mongering villain who needed to be stopped. With Lu Yuan Tang poised to tear the nation apart, Dong Yue must find a way to stop him. But it’s not a task she can accomplish on her own. Only with the help of Pang Yu and Feng Xi’s help, will she be able to set things right. Will she be able to reconcile two brothers divided by jealous hatred or are her people doomed to suffer an unimaginable fate?

The finale for this show aired this week and as much as I was ready for a bittersweet ending it looks like the show decided to go the full tragic route instead. As it turns out not only was Feng Xi a secret Ming son but he was also the Second Prince who was born to the Emperor and Noble Consort Ming. When Pang Yu found out, he was able to let go of his hatred and embrace his brother which was totally sweet. The problem was in the fact that the whole plot against the Mings was the Emperor's idea and not a bunch of councilors like Feng Xi thought which really put a screw in the works of his plots cause though the Emperor was happy that he found his son, in the end he placed his jealously over the triumphs of General Ming over his rationality and because of that he ended up dying in a plot that Yuan cooked up. Fortunately Feng Xi and Dong Yue were smarter than him and took the blame for killing the Emperor which sucks cause that meant that they could never return home but I suppose that since neither really cared for politics outside of wanting to clear the Ming name, it wasn't that big of a deal. The big deal was in the fact that Dong Yue basically disappeared before allowing Feng Xi to exchange his life for hers and I was really torn over this horribly vague ending. Like I always thought that Dong Yue would disappear and Wen Xin would be the one to eventually remember him and find him when she grows up but instead it seems like Feng Xi just wandered the Earth all sad and alone until he died and met Dong Yue in another plane. All in all this show was a serious mess cause it get circling around the same plots over and over again including the irritating Dong Yue mistrusts Feng Xi story every few episodes so the only reason I stuck through it was cause Feng Xi and Dong Yue had so much chemistry together. I'd give this show a 6.5 / 10.

JDRAMA

FINISHED Neechan no Koibito (9/9): When Momoko Adachi was in high school, her parents died in an accident. She was left with her 3 younger siblings. To support her family, Momoko Adachi gave up on going to a university and picked up a job at a hardware store. 9 years later, she is now 27-years-old. Her 3 younger siblings are 20, 17, and 14-years-old. Momoko Adachi places her sibling's happiness before anything else. One day, she meets Yoshioka-san at work. She is attracted to Yoshioka-san, who smiles all the time, but he has a secret.

The finale for this show aired this week and it was just as sweet as the rest of the show though I did expect the whole getting beaten up thing at the end of last week to have a bigger impact but Momoko really didn't say anything about it and Manata just pretended like he was fine when he went to that party at her house. I suppose the biggest twist of the episode was in the fact that Satoshi ended up being the President of the company rather than just a random employee and that security guard we always saw ended up being Satoshi's secretary which explains why he always glared at Manata. I'm sure he had all sorts of preconceived notions about what kind of person Manata was which is why he got softer as the season went on cause he saw that Manata was a good person. Manata and Momoko were super cute all episode but I think the award for cuteness has to go to Satoshi and Hinako cause not only was she totally wrong in thinking that his move meant a breakup for them but in fact he proposed in the cutest way and I was all about that. As a whole this show was totally cute despite the melancholy tone though I don't know if there's anything more to it than what we get on the surface. I would give it a 5 / 10!

TWDRAMA

Wacko At Law (5/15)
: Mai Daqi is a genius in the legal profession, but because of his dissatisfaction with the profitism of the law firm, he shelved his lawyer's license. It wasn't until an air crash that suddenly took the lives of his parents and his fiancee four years ago. In order to get justice for his family, Daqi regained his legal profession and overthrew American Airlines' first-class lawyers.

This week's episode was rough to watch but I have a feeling that next week's will be much much worse since the game is just getting started. The problem with taking on a murder case in dramas is that the civilians are always way too involved. Like in real life no one is picketing or chasing down murder suspects in a mob or harassing defense attorneys like damn random civilian it's just their job! This case is really going to end up connecting back to Yu Xin's father's case and I think that maybe Da Qi is going to try to solve that case alongside this one. All's fair in love and war cause the Prosecutor is clearly the one tipping off reporters to harass Yu Xin and Da Qi in what I'm assuming is similar to how he got Yu Xin's and Wan Ting's fathers harassed. I do suppose the one positive of all this is that I am sure that this will be the thing to kickstart Da Qi and Yu Xin's future romance since Da Qi is already so protective of her and it'll probably get more intense. Either way I just hope that Da Qi is the one to fall first cause it's a little embarrassing watching a female lead chase after a guy who is uninterested or pretending to be. Remember when I said I got a vibe from Wan Ting? Well apparently I was right cause she confessed to Da Qi this week and though I'm not worried about his answer I do hope that she doesn't start to hate Yu Xin after she finds out that he's into her.

xoxo Allie
