What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 4

Even though I've been watching this show for six seasons now, I still manage to forget sometimes just how batshit insane it really is. I mean what other show can you say solves a nuclear crisis by playing football with the nuclear launch codes suitcase? We landed in 1962 this week in the middle of the Cuban Missile Crisis cause Mick found the alien that kidnapped Sara. The Cubans thought that it was an American attack so they launched a missile at America and the American counterintelligence wanted to launch a missile back which is where Nate and Zari came in as they tried to get JFK to not. It was interesting seeing Nate and Zari team up and that the show actually touched on the whole Zari 2.0 looking like Zari 1.0 but I have to say that I'm not entirely sure the show put that relationship to bed. Idk maybe it's cause Tala Ashe could have literal chemistry with a wall but like something about the look they shared when Nate told Zari that she reminds him of herself and not Zari 1.0 felt like there could be more. I know this show doesn't exactly do love triangles and I definitely still do ship Zari 2.0 with Constantine but I wouldn't mind some drama in that realm. Speaking of chemistry Mick and Kayla shared some and I can't wait to see what comes of that. We didn't see any Sara this week but I'm sure we will catch up to her next week.

So there's no new episode next week cause of Memorial Day so we have to wait two weeks to see the next one which super sucks! The promo kinda looks like we'll be doing a bottle episode in which we spend most of it watching Astra adjust to life on Earth which honestly doesn't sound all that great given I don't really care about her... I do hope if this is the case then we get to see a lot of Zari and Constantine!

Fruits Basket Season 3 Episode 8

Well we finally got all the answers we wanted and I'm totally heartbroken over it! Poor Kyo deserves the biggest hug and I want to curse everyone who ever mistreated him. As I suspected he wasn't actually the reason for Kyoko's death and really all that happened was that he wasn't able to stop her from being hit but because of everything he had been through he saw it as another reason to hate himself. The poor guy was inches from killing himself and he used hatred of Yuki as a way to go on which is why he was so ready to pick fights with Yuki when he first showed up in season 1. He thinks that Kyoko told him that she would never forgive him for letting her die but like Tohru I doubt that's what she said. I have a feeling that Kyoko said something more like I'll never forgive you if you don't keep your man's promise to protect Tohru. I loved that Tohru listened to all this and decided that none of it mattered and that she would go against her mom for the first time. Kyo didn't seem ready to hear it and he definitely screwed way the hell up by telling her that he was disappointed in her when he said that nothing she could ever do would but I mean what can you expect from teenagers? Akito showed up at the end looking ready to kill Tohru as well and if she does stabble Tohru then I wonder if that will be the thing to force Kyo into deciding that nothing but his love for Tohru matters.

The Flash Season 7 Episode 11

I've never been more thankful that this season has decided to do pods cause if I had to hear these five strangers call each other family one more time I was going to vomit all over my laptop. I mean seriously we don't need to go into it again cause I definitely said my fair share last week but I just want it to be known that I rolled my eyes so hard that I gave myself a headache several times throughout this hour. Nora's return to the light was totally ridiculous and made no sense and I still don't understand why she thought that murder was the right answer when clearly love was *gag* but it led to Barry and Iris deciding that now was the perfect time to try for kids which made me laugh. I do wonder if Bart who's supposed to be coming later this season will end up being their son but I really hope that the show sticks with grandson cause if he was their son then it would feel like a retread of the whole Nora West-Allen thing from a few seasons ago. In other news I was really confused with the return of Frost cause I thought the show was writing her off and Danielle Panabaker didn't help things by writing a whole Instagram post about saying goodbye when not only did Frost cameo this week but it looks like she got out on probation also making her whole sacrifice feel kinda meaningless. Was this a rewrite? Or another Flashpoint situation?

So no Flash next week but the promo for two weeks from now shows us that it'll be Cisco's farewell episode and I'm not exactly thrilled about losing him but then again the actor has seemed done with this whole thing for seasons now given how he barely appears in this show and how he hasn't really had a storyline for ages like Caitlin does.

Superman & Lois Season 1 Episode 7

Ahhh so we're not actually doing the whole Red Sun storyline thing where Lois actually marries Lex Luthor since Kal-El is the bad guy in that universe cause as we find out Captain Luthor isn't a Lex from another world like I thought he was. He is in fact John Henry Irons aka Steel who is one of the many Supermen we get in the Reign Of Superman comic storyline and that's definitely interesting though I don't know if that's more interesting or less so than him being a Lex. At least we know that eventually he'll join the good guys given that he is a hero in the comics? I am curious about how much he remembers about his final moments in that warehouse and whether he remembers the boys or Lois showing up or if he was too terrified of Clark coming towards him. I do really want to know what happened in his world and why Clark shifted sides cause it seems that in his world Clark was Superman for a while only to change sides and I can't help but feel like that must mean that some sort of brainwashing or Kryptonite ex-machina was involved. I also really liked that Lois and Clark told the boys everything and I really liked them saving Clark making me wish that the show would go full sidekick sooner than later! I need Jordan suited up as Superboy like yesterday!!! In other news we still don't know what Edge wants or who he's working with but we do know that he's looking for test subjects in Smallville and sending the X-Kryptonite out.

I hope we finally get answers next week about what happened on Irons' world cause it seems like a large chunk of the episode will be spent talking to him in the DOD prison.

My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 10

Ooh man this week's episode was so cool!!!! We didn't actually get much in terms of the fight of 1A v 1B cause the whole thing was taken over by Deku unlocking a new part of his One For All. As I suspected weeks ago when we first heard about it, One For All has reached it's final singularity so it's at it's most evolved form in Deku which means that rather than enhancing the user's quirk (or basically giving super strength to those without a quirk like Deku and All Might) it can now basically give the user each of the quirks that the past 8 successors used only powered up. Deku met one of those past users and he learned that the black whips that he released by accident was the quirk of that user and that's honestly the coolest thing ever. He's basically got like multiple quirks now and though it does feel a bit like cheating, I'm really curious about how he'll be able to hide it now. Will he have to reveal that he's got One For All or are people really just going to think these new quirks are just an evolved form of his same quirk cause unless all the past users have a strength based quirk then it'll be hard to convince people.

What Dramas Am I Watching This Week?

So here's what I'm watching this week! Of course the list is split by country and the amount of episodes I've seen so far are written below! There will be spoilers from now on so if you aren't caught to the episode number on list, you might want to go watch that episode and then come back! If you're interested in previous reviews, click here and if you want to see a list of my Favorite Asian OTPs and Ships, click here!

KDRAMA

Doom At Your Service (6/16)
: Tak Dong Kyung has been working hard ever since her parents passed away. Her life seemed more stable after working as an web novel editor for 6 years, but then she gets diagnosed with a brain cancer. She blames her unlucky life and wishes to curse everything to disappear, which unintentionally calls Myeol Mang, a messenger between humans and gods, to appear. He says that he can grant her wishes. As her last hope, she makes a contract with Myeol Mang for a hundred days to live how she wants, risking her everything.

Ah of course I was wrong about the Deity! I mean why would I ever think that in a show about the supernatural that those in power would be kind and good like they're supposed to be if instead we can have them be an antagonist?? I think a part of me had hoped that the Deity in this show saw how much Myeol Mang was suffering and put Dong Kyung in his path kinda like Chloe and Lucifer in the American show Lucifer but instead it looks like Dong Kyung was an unforeseen obstacle and I'm fairly certain that the Deity didn't mean to have the two fall in love. The thing is that the two couldn't be more meant for one another. Honestly they're both two sides of the same coin and think that no one could ever love them but they crave being loved even more. It feels as though the Deity is going to erase Myeol Mang's memory of Dong Kyung or something like that given the ominous comment about a reset and truly I'm so ready for the angst. I do feel like this show is being carried by the chemistry between our leads (I mean did you all see that kiss??) so I kinda can't help but ignore all my problems with it until I'm writing these reviews. I do have to say that I really don't like that the entire secondary love triangle is so detached from our leads. It feels like we're watching another show entirely and I can't help but feel like this whole thing should have just been cut out if they weren't going to connect the two worlds.
Imitation (4/12)
: Lee Ma Ha is a member of the new K-pop girl group Tea Party, formed by Ji Hak, who was once the manager of the famous boy group Shax, but resigned after the sudden disappearance of member Eun Jo in the middle of a concert. Prior to joining Tea Party, Ma Ha was a member of the group Omega III, which disbanded on its debut day due to a tragic incident involving a former trainee at the group's company. This led Ma Ha to support herself by performing as an impersonator of the popular solo singer La Li Ma, gaining her public notoriety. Starting anew with Tea Party, Ma Ha finds herself repeatedly crossing paths with Kwon Ryok, the center and most popular member of Shax who is still haunted by Eun Jo's disappearance three years later. While Ryok initially dislikes Ma Ha due to her imitation of Li Ma, the two eventually begin to grow interested in one another and start a secret relationship that could put both of their careers in jeopardy. Meanwhile, Lee Yu Jin, Ma Ha's loyal friend who is the center of the rising boy group Sparkling, has been in love with Ma Ha since their idol trainee days. When he notices the budding relationship between Ma Ha and Ryok, he determines to protect her from Ryok and lead Sparkling to beat out Shax as the most popular boy group in the industry.

I am so happy that we're increasing the amount of screentime that's spent on the gigs that idols spend all their time doing cause it's the part of the show (besides the romance) that I'm most interested in! I mean that's the thing that we're all fascinated over with idols no?? It did suck that Tea Party's set was cut cause of Shax but they killed it anyway with both the cut time and the fact that their music stopped in the middle of their performance but honestly the fact that they were still on point really played in their favor more. All three were perfectly in sync and that's why they got the attention they did clearly. What's interesting though is that it still doesn't really feel like the trio are famous yet but I guess the show is setting up the romance right now rather than showing us how famous Tea Party is getting. Speaking of the romance, Ryok really is such a tsundere and it does suck that they can't act normally around each other given that we know they have a past and were friends of a sort back then. I was hoping that Ma Ha would strike iron with her small movie role but it doesn't look like any sort of media attention is on her. What it did do was the beautiful romance trope when two people kiss for a performance and they realize sparks are flying which was adorable as all hell!!
Law School (13/16)
: When a grim incident occurs at their prestigious school, justice through law is put to a test by a tough law professor and his ambitious students. Yang Jong Hoon is a criminal law professor and a former elite prosecutor, whose harsh words make him the professor to steer clear of. At the same time, there’s something compelling about his strict teaching methods and his refusal to accept less than the best from his future juniors in the legal profession. Han Joon Hwi, a first-year law student, is at the top of his class. He’s a natural leader whose good looks and easy charm make him the perfect man - on paper. However, there’s an unexpected side to him that remains well-hidden. Kang Sol is another first-year law student who overcame childhood poverty and hardships by gaining special admission to the school. She walks a path of thorns due to her constant sense of deprivation and shame amidst the wealth and talent that surrounds her. Eventually, her passion will enlighten her on what it truly takes to be a good lawyer. Kim Eun Sook is a civil law professor who was once the head of the law school’s free legal clinic. Her natural air of authority and freewheeling personality earned her the reputation for being a master in court. Known for being a highly-relatable professor, she is the sole colleague Yang Jong Hoon dares to confide in.

This week was an interesting watch cause we both got answers and also new questions. It's no shock to anyone that the person pulling the strings from the start was Assemblyman Ko who's got his mitts on everything and it sort of undermined the whole dramatic chair turn reveal thing. For a second I thought I placed him wrong and was like oh is this Ko's friend who's a toy company guy since old men look the same to me but nope it was Ko. I wonder if Seo grew a conscious after Joon Hwi hated him so fiercely and was going to come out with everything he did and ruin Ko so Ko instigated Man Ho into killing him by promising to find his son. The funny thing is that rather than Ko it looks like Professor Kim is the one who knows him based on those random phone calls in which she speaks English. Also interesting is the low key reveal that Professor Yang is on phone call terms with Dan since he also called her and then hung up as soon as Kim got in the car. All that to say that we also got the end of Ye Seul's trial and fortunately she was found innocent and the judge and jury both said that she was acting out of self defense. It's also important to note that Sol B confessed and though she will be punished, her getting into the school wasn't based on the award so at least she won't be expelled. I think we're also supposed to believe that Joon Hwi confessed his feelings for her at the trial but why do I have a feeling that he just said I like Kang Sol and everyone assumed it was Sol B?
Mad For Each Other (3/13)
: About two people with their own painful stories who go through a complicated process of hurting and healing while falling in love with each other. No Hwi Oh is a detective in the violent crimes division of the Gangnam Police Station. He thinks that he is doing well until his life suddenly takes a turn and he becomes a “crazy” person who can’t hold in his anger about anything. Lee Min Kyung is a woman who is caught up in her own delusions and compulsions. She had lived an ordinary life as a pretty woman with a respectable job until “that incident” that caused everything in her life to break down. As a result, she was unable to trust anyone and is caught in a prison of her own making. Her delusions also have the unfortunate side effect of making everyone else around her angry.

If I'm being honest I was really not looking forward to checking this drama out cause the synopsis sounded totally strange but I adore Oh Yeon Seo so I wanted to check it out just for her even if I didn't love the last project she worked on (Love With Flaws.) After checking out the first three episodes I have to say that it's a lot darker than I expected it to be. Maybe it's cause I was low key ready to be emotionally attached to Min Kyung from the start or maybe it's cause as a woman I can empathize with everything she went through but I spent these first few episodes really putting myself in her shoes. It's no wonder that after everything she went through that she formed a delusional disorder to deal with it and I high key hate that even the cop who told Hwi Oh about her said something small happened to her as if it wasn't the thing that changed her life for good. Hwi Oh on the other hand went through his own struggle but I can't help but feel like he's really not a good guy and I really don't like the idea of the two dating right now. I mean I know he and Min Kyung got off on the wrong foot but there's something so terrifying about a man shouting obscenities at you or punching an elevator door in front of you and I don't love that he turned her down when he saw how desperately she was looking for her poor dog. I'm sure that as soon as he finds out what happened to her he'll see her in a new light but it's one of those things that if you don't love me at my worst then you don't deserve me at my best.
Sell Your Haunted House (13/16)
: Ji Ah, a woman who has inherited exorcism abilities from her mother, is the owner of Daebak Realty, a company that specializes in selling haunted houses. Ji Ah looks perfect and is also brilliant, but her hot temper makes her fists fly before her words. One day, Ji Ah encounters a conman named In Beom who specializes in exorcism fraud. Late at night when Daebak Realty operates, In Beom visits Ji Ah to make an offer. He suggests that they team up to exclusively sell houses that are haunted by vengeful spirits and lingering ghosts. Can the two get along well and deal with house prices, ghosts, and their sorrowful stories?

To my utter heartbreak we only got one episode airing this week and I'm pissed as all hell about it!! I do have to say though that one thing is not clicking with me about this show and it's coloring everything else in a strange light. I do not agree with the idea that In Bum's uncle is innocent in all this. I mean yeah Do Hak Sung is the real Big Bad but if the uncle hadn't been caught up in his greed then eight people wouldn't be dead. No matter how you slice it he killed a lot of people on purpose and one on accident and I can't see how everyone in this show is just like oh whatever about it. Also as much as I hated it, it did make sense why Ji Ah pulled away from In Bum again though it does feel a bit like retreading water cause we already saw the two "break up" cause of the past. Fortunately like last time it doesn't look like the separation will be dragged out given that we still need to deal with Hak Sung and also Ji Ah's mom. It does look like some spirits are stuck on Earth cause the person they love the most is keeping them there. I had a feeling for a while that Ji Ah's mom was still here cause of Ji Ah but I thought she was waiting until Ji Ah was happy before leaving but now it seems more like Ji Ah was keeping her from being exorcised? Is her mom still around or did whatever Ji Ah did send her off cause we haven't seen her since and I wonder why.
So I Married An Anti-Fan (8/16)
: Hoo Joon is a top star while Geun Young is a magazine reporter. For a potential news article, Geun Young decides to attend an opening ceremony for a club. There, she witnesses top star Hoo Joon's violent behavior and she also vomits on him by accident. This leads to Geun Young losing her job. Believing that Hoo Joon was behind her firing, she decides to get him back by demonstrating in front of Hoo Joons management office. Slowly, she begins to receive media coverage on her demonstration and soon becomes famous as an anti-fan. A PD approaches Geun Young about participating in a reality TV show which revolves around the idea of a top star and their anti-fan living together. Being unemployed, she decides to accept the offer. Meanwhile, Hoo Joon is offered the same reality TV show and accepts to try to improve his image. Hoo Joon and Geun Young try to give each other a hard time on the reality show, but soon start to fall for one another.

Joon and Geun Young finally kissed for real this week and it was pretty amazing cause I adore that trope of being so full of sexual tension and anger that it explodes into a hate kiss after which they go back for a softer kiss realizing their feelings. I do wish the show would dial back the misunderstandings though cause it's getting tired that Joon keeps thinking the worst of Geun Young over and over again when it's like at this point he should know of all the people in his life, she's the most real and struggles the most to hide her feelings. I also am kind of pissed that no one cared enough about Geun Young not to edit the show in such a horrible way and I'm disappointed that Joon didn't worry about her enough to do something either. I also am so sick and tired of JJ who's really just throwing a temper tantrum left and right and at this point In Kyung is kinda pathetic for not only leaving him but the company. Like it's clear that being a celeb isn't working no matter how much you want it so it's time to move on to something less toxic and pingponging back and forth between two men isn't it.
Taxi Driver (14/16)
: Do Gi has lived more honestly than anyone else as an officer in the Special Forces. Yet, when a serial killer murders his mother, he spends his days in agony. While feeling wronged and broken, Do Gi meets Jang Sung Chul, who recruits Do Gi to work for his company, Rainbow Taxi. Far from an ordinary taxi service, Rainbow Taxi is a secret organization that avenges victims whom the law didn’t protect. Here, Do Gi becomes a star driver who delivers satisfying revenge. Meanwhile, Ha Na is a prosecutor who investigates Rainbow Taxi. She is furious with their lawless behavior, but at the same time, she feels confused to see them solve cases that the law cannot. Between those who believe that revenge embodies true justice and those who pursue the outlaws, Do Gi seeks what justice truly means.

It really does feel like our story is wrapped up here which is why I'm a little confused and curious as to what could possibly be next! I mean I'm sure that Do Gi will end up turning himself in but other than that and maybe catching the few criminals that escaped there's nothing really left to do. It was so satisfying watching him go into a frenzy and I really loved the speech Sung Chul gave Chairwoman Baek about constantly living in a white hot rage but for a second there I really thought that maybe Do Gi would kill someone and really have to go to jail. I mean up to this point he's done a lot of minor crimes but once murder is on the table there's no going back. I do think it was fitting that he probs wrecked that asshole's ability to get it up ever again but part of me wishes it was Go Eun herself who did it. As a sidebar I kinda loved that when given the choice it wasn't even a matter of hesitation for Do Gi to pick saving Go Eun first. The shipper in me was living even though the rest of me was like girl take it down a notch this isn't the time. I do think Park will live though and it sucks that Sung Chul seems to have lost an eye but all in all we managed to capture everyone even if I wonder about the people behind Chairwoman Baek and whether they'll step in to help her like she claimed.

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 3

This episode was everything and it can completely be chalked up to the fact that it was focused on Zari and Constantine who are not only my favorite ship in this show currently but also Zari's my fav so there's that! I had a feeling going into this week that whatever was going on would cause Zari and Constantine to focus on their own relationship and decide what they were. I mean the two were so adamant that they were only hooking up last time we saw them and it felt very much like they were overcompensating and that's exactly what happened. I think it was truly genius of the show to pair up Zari and Constantine given that while on the surface they seem like complete opposites, when you look closer you see the two are the same. They both struggle with loving themselves and believing that others would care for them and cause of that they've had a string of failed relationships. I thought it was interesting that it was Constantine that took the first step but I was glad that he did cause it led to them performing together beautifully and accepting that they want to be boyfriend and girlfriend. In other news Sara accidentally stumbled into the lair of whoever wanted to buy her and he's got a man bun which if that doesn't sum him up then I don't know what will!

Next week looks like we're traveling back to the past again and hunting down Kayla which is one of the best things that Mick has come up with all season so far!

Fruits Basket Season 3 Episode 7

Dudes there's no way that Kureno is dead is there??? There's no way that Akito actually murders a member of the zodiac and still gets redemption right? I don't care that the show did the whole metaphor thing by showing us Uo looking at a dead sparrow cause I refuse to believe it until we see a funeral or his dead body next week! The funny thing is that every time we focus on Akito and what a terrible childhood she had I always feel pity and start to want good things for her only for Akito to royally screw them up and make me regret ever feeling that pity. We learn that Ren seduced Akira as his servant and then hated Akito cause she took Akira's attention away from her which was the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard but it was cause of her that Akito clung so hard to the zodiacs and became such a terrible person. I still don't know what is breaking the bonds though and it's driving me crazy cause this week we see that it was Hiro that lost his connection and I'm sitting here like but why?? On the other hand shout out to his mom who we already knew was the MVP of zodiac parents but continues to shine every single moment she has. I'm also curious about whether Tohru was about to confess to Kyo and whether he'll tell both her and us the audience about what happened given that it was confirmed that this season will only have 13 episodes meaning that everything needs to be wrapped up in the next 6!

The Flash Season 7 Episode 10

This episode was rough with a capital R and I'm not sure if the problems of this episode were highlighted cause I watched it after Superman & Lois or if it's a problem I have with this season on a whole but seriously guys it was roooooough. I cannot wrap my head around what this season is about. Like it was bad enough that this show started it's big main couple off as adoptive siblings but now they're parents to 4 different Forces that they metaphorically birthed? Last week when the show made that joke I thought it was nothing more than a joke but this week they've seriously doubled down on this fact by having the Forces call Barry and Iris mom and dad and it's creepy as all hell. I also don't love the way the show is rushing Alexa and the Strength Force connecting. I liked that Caitlin called out the fact that the situation was similar to her and Frost but we saw Caitlin and Frost process their bond over almost 4 seasons while Alexa and Fuerza are friends after 30 minutes? Spare me please. It also doesn't help that I don't understand what Nora wants or why. If it's so easy to reason with the other Forces then why was her plan of attack to kill first? And seriously which of the Forces even care enough about her for her to be so scared of them? I also really can't find it in me to care about Cisco moving away but it does look like maybe his new job will be at ARGUS? At least that'll give the Arrowverse a way to bring him back like Diggle and Lyla who also are at ARGUS.

Are we really about to deal with Nora on the whole next week? I guess I didn't realize but the new showrunner for Flash has changed the way Flash is written so like Agents Of SHIELD we will be doing little pods or as this show likes to call it graphic novels in which we deal with several storylines across one season. I guess that's fine cause tbh the only thing I'm looking forward to this season is Jordan Fisher who's going to play Bart Allen so once this Nora thing wraps up I can look forward to him!

Superman & Lois Season 1 Episode 6

We're finally back and I was high key thrilled about it cause this show is still as incredibly well written as I remember it to be! It will never be my favorite of the Arrowverse which is a honor that went to Arrow and now Legends but it's still really good. Last time we saw Tag show up again upset and sure that Jordan had something to do with his new powers and this week we saw him attack Jordan and then ask Sarah if she knew what Jordan was. Though he didn't get the answers he was looking for he did ended up activating something in Jordan so now his powers are much stronger than they were before. He's having migraines and seizures and is unable to control his heat vision and ended up breaking Jon's arm possibly to the degree that he might never get his full range of motion back which super sucks but I am glad that Jordan is finally seeing the consequences to his powers cause no matter how much Clark talked about it he didn't see that it was a problem until now. I loved Clark's speech about trust and how every time he uses his powers it's another test of trust cause it's so true and I love that this show is touching on those darker themes in Superman without going Synderverse dark with it. Meanwhile Lana and Lois are going to team up to find dirt on Edge and Lois found out about the X-Kryptonite in the Smallville mines but more importantly is realizing that Luthor isn't a good person. I have a feeling she'll be the one to discover his truth and it makes me laugh cause this show really is relegating Clark to just being a dad who sometimes goes out to punch things rather than the one hunting mysteries and stuff.

Wow the promo for next week looks so good you guys!! Clark and Luthor are finally going to meet up but I'm more excited about Jordan and Jon possibly saving the day!

My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 9

Class A really beat Class B in 5 minutes and I was pretty excited about it even though I knew it was coming. I mean seriously there was no way that Katsuki would lose but I'm kinda glad that it ended so quickly so we can move on to Deku. I want to see him show off how much he's improved and I'm really curious if his weird new thing is related to Shinso at all or whether Shinso's powers will open up a better link between Deku and the past One For All users. I do have to say that he does have one of the lamest teams of the group cause I've never thought that the purple guy was useful and the show doesn't use Mina's powers all the well but I suppose Ochaco can hold her own sometimes even if she's been relegated to the girl having a crush on Deku for seasons now. I mean the last time we saw her be badass was during the tournament right?

KDRAMA

Doom At Your Service (4/16)
: Tak Dong Kyung has been working hard ever since her parents passed away. Her life seemed more stable after working as an web novel editor for 6 years, but then she gets diagnosed with a brain cancer. She blames her unlucky life and wishes to curse everything to disappear, which unintentionally calls Myeol Mang, a messenger between humans and gods, to appear. He says that he can grant her wishes. As her last hope, she makes a contract with Myeol Mang for a hundred days to live how she wants, risking her everything.

I truly don't know where this show is going but what I can say is that I'm fascinated by the idea that for once the deity of the world isn't a bad person. Like she clearly has her own goals and motivations but so far I don't see her as spiteful or selfish like the deity in Angel's Last Mission: Love or Tale Of The Nine Tailed or Hotel de Luna. I do wonder what she could gain from showing Myeol Mang that he can be compassionate and good too. For a second I wondered if she lied and he was a human that died and became Doom but then we find out that he was just pretending not to remember crying at the funeral and then we find out it was the deity who died so it's double not that. I also have to say that I love that though Myeol Mang and Dong Kyung's relationship is progressing fast cause this is a drama there's no insta love. I can see why the two are drawn to each other but I like that they can also still see the faults in one another. I do have to say that I'm glad that Dong Kyung's brother found out about her terminal illness cause I was worried she would spend the whole show hiding it but I think she's still in denial about it or hoping that her deal with Myeol Mang will supercede it though now I'm not so sure about my theory of Dong Kyung loving Myeol Mang the most being a loophole cause the show straight up called it out.
Imitation (3/12)

This show just makes me happy which can partially be chalked up to the fact that it reminds me of so many shows about idols that I've loved before! This week I got Entertainer vibes from how we spent it trying to find our girls a hit song and watching their manager run around trying to get them airtime. I knew though from the second that Sparkling mentioned that Shax would never go on a music variety show to promote themselves that of course they would and I would bet that they'll take the time slot of Tea Party too just to really screw things up. The CEO of Shax clearly has it out for Ji Hak even though Ji Hak really doesn't care about him or what happened to Eun Jo anymore so even though he's playing it cool, it's probs really bothering him that Ryok was even linked to Ma Ha and probs wonders if this was Ji Hak's plan. I do like that Ryok the tsundere clearly has an interest in Ma Ha though I don't understand anything about what the fans were pissed about and I wonder if this whole thing will cause Ma Ha to get a bigger role on the show that Ryok was filming. God it must suck to be an idol in Korea where fans think you belong to them. I can't even imagine thinking the way they do especially since I think that it's more exciting for fans (at least American ones) to see two celebs dating cause we like to feel like we're part of the shipping experience.
Law School (11/16)

It really is rough watching Ye Seul's trial and not just cause of the content but cause of how brainwashed Ye Seul is. She's too good and kind and because of that she's literally letting her abuser treat her like the one in the wrong. It's tough to watch for everyone but I'm really hoping that Professor Yang is the one to bring down the hammer on her cause this whole dancing around the subject thing that everyone else is doing is not working. If Ye Seul herself doesn't want to prove her innocence then no matter how much work the others put in it will be useless. I do have to say though that I'm a little tired with how the show keeps having us at a disadvantage and for once I'd like the villains to lose a little cause I'm really so tired with seeing their smug faces thinking they've won. It really sucks that Korea's whole law field is just a big connections game cause as we saw all our kids are at a disadvantage just cause they want to do what's right against a Presidential candidate's son. I'm also starting to wonder if the show even knows who it wants Seo's killer to be cause it's so late in the game that I continuously forget that there really is a killer out there yet.
Sell Your Haunted House (12/16)

I'm high key pissed that the show is going to make me wait another whole week to figure out what happened 20 years ago!! I imagine that it still has to do with Ji Ah and In Beom accidentally screwing things up otherwise why would Ji Ah's mom plant false memories in Ji Ah's mind? I was also upset that In Beom's uncle had no memories of that time for In Beom to possess and really we just got the same answers we already knew but now In Beom and Ji Ah know too. In Beom's uncle set an apartment on fire for the CEO who promised to give the uncle an apartment in the new complex he builds only In Beom gets possessed by an egg spirit and the uncle takes him to Daebak only to want to run when he overhears that the only way to rid the world of the egg spirit is by killing the host aka In Beom. Something happens and Ji Ah's mom gets killed according to what Ji Ah said before she passed out and then In Beom's uncle ends up in the hospital where he tells the CEO he's going to confess to everything only for the CEO to kill him in order to tie up loose ends. The memorandum ends up with the grandma and I'm assuming that in the finale they will give it to the cops to get rid of the CEO since we only have two weeks left and next week will probs be given to wrapping up the mystery of 20 years ago. I am a little sad that the show is still playing Ji Ah and In Beom as people who are into each other but not admitting it cause at this rate we won't even get a confession let alone the kiss that I want between the two!
So I Married An Anti-Fan (6/16)

It's kinda funny how head over heels Hoo Joon is for Geun Young already and it's clear that his manager knows it based on how he's treating Geun Young though I suppose for him anyone who could replace In Kyung in Hoo Joon's heart is worth praising. I really don't understand In Kyung's deal and I find that's the case for most girls in love triangles regardless of if they're the female lead or the second female lead. Like you know the second guy likes you but you clearly picked the first so why are you hanging around the second? I also really want Geun Young to find out what's going on cause it'll clear up a lot of misunderstandings for her. She's clearly starting to feel some things for him as well though not as obviously as Hoo Joon is so I don't love that she still thinks he's this terrible person. I also have a feeling that this show is definitely going to edit Geun Young into a monster and I really hope that Hoo Joon explodes on the production crew cause I can't imagine that he would be like meh it's whatever. I was also surprised to find out that Geun Young's friend is about to have a love triangle too cause it's kinda obvious that the friend who always hangs out is into her two based on the sly way he told the boyfriend all about her multiple exes.
Taxi Driver (12/16)

Did I or did I not call it when I said that Chairwoman Baek would end up being our Biggest Bad of the season?? I mean let's pretend that it wasn't obvious from the start and say that I'm a genius anyway! But seriously so much happened this week and we're clearly ramping up to a big finale given that the final arc is here. Ha Na finally walked into the dark side and I have to say that I think the show flubbed it here. Ha Na was so sure about her ideals for so long that I wish that her turn to the darkside would have been slower paced. Like what if instead of watching her hunt Rainbow we saw a bunch of the cases she got through the season that didn't pan out cause of nuances in the law so we could see her slowly lose trust in the system instead of doing the cheap thing and being like well Ha Na opposed Rainbow just cause she couldn't empathize with the victims never having lost someone important to her. Even if the show wanted to say that her investigator dying was the thing that would change her then the show should have killed him a bit sooner so her spiral could take longer than half an episode. I suppose though that I should just build a bridge and get over it cause what's done is done and I guess I'm just excited to see them all work together finally. The case this week was a little boring tbh but that's mostly cause it was getting Rainbow to up to date with everything we knew. I do have to say that Chairwoman Baek really was an idiot though cause she gave up a cushy life for a little more money and now she's screwed cause she's been caught and can't ever go back from running.

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 2

I do have to say that this week's episode didn't hit me like the premiere but I can let that slide cause though Legends is usually incredible it does have it's clunkers here and there and this was probs one. Part of me wonders if it's cause the episode split up Zari and Constantine when you all know I'm a shipper of ships but because they split up we got to see more of Zari and Behrad and that was fun enough on it's own so maybe not? I do love their dynamic and I think it was perfect that they both ended up with an air totem though the more interesting part was the fact that we saw Zari 1.0 in the totem when I really thought we'd never see her again! Maybe she and Nate can go on dates in the totem. On that note I have to say that Nate kinda felt like an extra this week given that he really didn't do anything but maybe that's cause he wasn't the focus of this week cause Constantine didn't do much either but I didn't feel like he was as much of an afterthought as Nate was. We also saw Sara and Gary crash into the planet that hired Gary to kidnap Sara and I'm really really hoping that this alien isn't just another 80s sci fi movie alien and one from the DC universe instead! Like the Thanagarians are clearly too much to hope for as is anything Darkseid but maybe a minor DC alien could be the one behind it all??

Next week looks like more my speed in terms of the comedy and it's actually really funny that the show brought back Zari's ex to be the celebrity judge.

Fruits Basket Season 3 Episode 6

THIS EPISODE WAS EVERYTHING I'VE BEEN BEGGING THIS SHOW FOR!! I'm not even sorry about screaming this into the void but do you know how long and how many years I've shipped Tohru and Kyo for and how long I've lived off of crumbs only to have a full feast laid out in front of me this week???? Tohru finally realized that she loved Kyo loved him more than anyone else in the world and realized that the reason she fought so hard to deny her feelings was cause once she did, her mom would no longer be the one she loved the most. I loved the perfectly Tohru way she described love and how selfish it was but more than that my heart broke to hear how she changed herself as a child to become someone she thought her mom needed more than her. It makes me wonder who the real Tohru is just like Kyo did. Speaking of Kyo he was so good to Tohru all episode which is why it's awful that he had such a violent flashback to Kyoko dying and I still want to know what that's about! I know he was there when she died but I really doubt that he actually had much more to do with it than being a bystander and blaming himself for not doing something. I also doubt that Kyoko's last words to him were I won't forgive you cause she doesn't seem the type. On another note I was really interested in the Sohma family dynamic this week and how Shigure is totally right about the way they view Kyo and how little they worry about him being locked up.

The Flash Season 7 Episode 9

I'm not entirely sure that this week actually solved anything in terms of the mystery of what Speed!Nora is or whether the other forces can be good which I think is just super sucky. Like is Speed!Nora really the same Speed Force that we've loved for 7 seasons or is she somehow Eobard or the negative speed force? Why are all the new Forces so evil when we're told that they were born from Barry and Iris's love? The whole thing makes no sense and I don't even know if the show is ever planning on explaining it or if we're just meant to go with what they're telling us like all the other sci fi mumbo jumbo it tells us to believe in. Barry tried to erase the forces from existing only he ended up changing his mind cause of what Iris and Joe said about helping rather than getting rid of and honestly I think that was the wrong choice but maybe I'm just too savage. Also important to note is that Alexa somehow came back to life and that'll be interesting to unpack but more importantly it looks like the show is officially about to write Cisco off the show. At this point it kinda feels like The Flash should just wrap it up cause when all the OG members of a show start leaving, it's a sign of the end.

The promo for next week shows us that Alexa is basically about to become a member of Team Flash though nothing about Cisco leaving and that makes me wonder if it'll be a secondary storyline in the background as Cisco struggles to find a way to tell Barry about leaving. It's also interesting that it's a part 1 of 2.

My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 8

If there ever was one thing that I wish this show would do to make it better is if it would stop nerfing Shouto so much! Like part of me thinks that Shouto's arc is so different than all the other kids cause his power has always been at it's peak so whereas the other heroes have to practice and work hard to get better, Shouto's struggle is more of an internal one. When he finally accepts who he is then he'll be able to access his true powers. On paper this is a great arc but the reality is that the show doesn't spend enough time or energy on Shouto in general so we're kinda just told that a lot of his progress happens offscreen and even when the focus is on him the show seems to feel like oh we can't give him too much cause then he might outshine the real heroes of this show aka Deku and Katsuki. I mean seriously it was too much to hope that since this season was focusing on Endeavor than Shouto might get some screen time too. Even in this battle the star and focus was on Iida! I hate that every time Shouto does anything he gets screwed from every competition to the hero license exams. And now next week is Katsuki's battle which will probs go on for the next two or three weeks before we see Deku's team battle.

KDRAMA

Doom At Your Service (2/16)
: Tak Dong Kyung has been working hard ever since her parents passed away. Her life seemed more stable after working as an web novel editor for 6 years, but then she gets diagnosed with a brain cancer. She blames her unlucky life and wishes to curse everything to disappear, which unintentionally calls Myeol Mang, a messenger between humans and gods, to appear. He says that he can grant her wishes. As her last hope, she makes a contract with Myeol Mang for a hundred days to live how she wants, risking her everything.

You ever just watch a show for the first time and think damn this show is going to hurt me so good? That's what I'm feeling here. I was honestly so excited for this drama to come out cause it was Park Bo Young's first project since Abyss which I didn't love and I absolutely adore Seo In Guk so I had high hopes and fortunately they were met. This show reminds me a lot of Goblin mixed with Angel's Last Mission: Love and I'll be really curious to see if it ends happily or tragically cause I could see it going both ways. In this world there is a Deity and a Doom who are life and death respectively. They come into existence through human's willpower and every once in a while Doom grants a wish. This time he was interested in Dong Kyung who is a terminally ill girl floating through life unhappy. They make a contract in which he extends her life to 100 days and during that time she has to make a wish or the person she loves the most will die. I already dig the chemistry between the two and I can already see this whole thing ending with Dong Kyung never making a wish but since the person she loves the most is Myeol Mang then he would die too and the two can have a new human life together in their next reincarnation. The other interesting thing is that I don't know if Lee Soo Hyuk is playing the second lead to Dong Kyung and Myeol Mang or if he's actually the male lead part of the love triangle between Ji Na and Hyun Gu. The part of me that fell in love with Kang Tae Oh in Run On wants him to be the male lead for the second couple but the rest of me is just so in love with our main leads and into both Soo Hyuk and Tae Oh that I don't have a horse in the race.
Imitation (2/12)

I was actually really excited for this show cause there's something about idol dramas that I absolutely find fascinating so I was expecting some sort of mix between Idolm@ster KR and Top Management but surprisingly this show ended up feeling a lot darker than I expected and I'm so down! It feels more like we're taking a look at the darker side of kpop than the fun side and I'm interested in finding out what's going on. I have a feeling that Annie and Eun Jo were dating and maybe she got pregnant so when the top brass found out they kicked her out. I'm not sure why that would lead to her killing herself and I'm not sure what exactly happened to Eun Jo but I'm open to all possibilities! The CEO of Ryok's agency looks totally sketch but I like the way it's focusing on the daily grind of idols. I also really like that for once we have two idols that are going to fall in love rather than a male idol and a female manager or intern like usual cause it gives us something new. I mean would I have preferred if Ma Ha wasn't the struggling idol to the superstar Ryok yes but the synopsis mentions that eventually she does become a star so I'm hoping it won't be long now. We haven't actually seen much of Ryok and Ma Ha together yet but I like that they both seem like such good people.
Law School (9/16)

Ugh I'm honestly so pissed that this show aired one episode this week cause I need my regular fix!! As it turns out a lot of my theories from last week were wrong including the one about Seung Jae being the son of the rapist and being married to Dan cause we actually met his wife this week and she's just a random doctor who's now pregnant. He was so so close to helping Professor Yang by taking the stand and supporting his alibi but now he's afraid that telling the truth with hurt her but I'm left wondering why he can't just go back to being a doctor then cause he's clearly good at that and he's a hacker too so he's got options! I also have to say the Prosecutor is seriously such a horrible person and every week I think he can't get worse only he does. I really do hope that Ji Ho and Joon Hwi are able to take him down. The other highlight of the week was when Professor Yang became Ye Seul's lawyer though I'm not entirely sure how that's possible given that he's a murder suspect on his own but I guess that since he was removed from his professor gig that he's legible? But seriously my heart broke for Ye Seul this week and how she did nothing wrong but was drowning and it super sucks that she's the victim and yet she's the one who has to drop out of law school just cause her boyfriend's dad is in politics and controls practically the entire law field!
Sell Your Haunted House (10/16)

This week was the fallout from Ji Ah and In Beom finding out the truth about each other and I liked seeing the path they traveled down from Ji Ah feeling betrayed to slowly realizing that she was too harsh on him and that he was a victim too. I still think the CEO played a bigger role than we know but I also want to know how he's connected to Hwa Jung and what her secret is but of course our heroes can't find out the truth without him since In Beom's uncle is following the CEO around all the time. I do wonder if In Beom calls out to him if the uncle will snap back out of his rage for two seconds but it's possible that after all this time he's forgotten everything other than his anger. What I'm curious about though is why the uncle hasn't been tormenting the CEO like other ghosts do or is the CEO just ignoring it cause he's a psychopath? I do think I was right in guessing that the detective will end up joining our side cause he did help our heroes with that murderer and it's clear that he's starting to question if ghosts really exist but even if he doesn't exactly believe in ghosts, everything the CEO did was illegal in human terms and that should be enough. I also want to shout out how married Ji Ah and In Beom are without them even knowing and it will never cease to stop amusing me how he's the softness to her doom and gloom.
So I Married An Anti-Fan (4/16)

This week worked a lot better for me and I'm not sure if it's cause I changed the lens I was originally watching this show with or if I was super in the mood for a lighthearted romp like this but either way I found myself endeared by the characters and the plot more than I thought I would. I still think the reasoning for Geun Young and Hoo Joon living together is lame but I kinda love the way he's all bark and no bite cause he's bitch and bitch about this thing or that but in the end do the thing that Geun Young wants anyway. Their first kiss was hilarious and I still adore their chemistry but I'll be really interested to see when the relationship between the two will go from enemies to lovers. I wonder if he'll actively start using her to prove to JJ and In Hyung that he's moved on and whether he'll tell Geun Young what's going on. I'm also really into the way the show is filming a variety show and I was really surprised at how that whole thing worked so well cause if you remember last week I was not into it! I kinda do hope that with Hoo Joon finding out that Geun Young and the Chef knew each other that he'll find out what happened between them cause I high key hate that the Chef acts like the breakup was entirely Geun Young's fault as if he was the one not cheating and pretending and I want Hoo Joon to be protective of her making her see him in a different light!
Taxi Driver (10/16)

This show is honestly just so much fun and I live to see what new and crazy role Do Gi will be playing each week. Something about Do Gi's character is hitting all the right buttons for me so that suddenly I'm finding myself falling for him more than I've fallen for any of Lee Je Hoon's roles before. This week we dealt with voice phishing and it was absolutely hilarious watching him low key seduce the boss lady cause it's like dudes we'd all be seduced if we were her! I also feel like I should shout out what a complete badass Ha Na is and how she managed to uncover everything in like five minutes though I can't help but wonder why the Rainbow Taxi underestimated her so much. Like I was saddened at the fact that Kyung Goo's ingenious plan to pretend to fish after being caught by her meant nothing given that she saw Do Gi driving into Sung Chul's garage with his deluxe taxi. I am starting to see the bigger picture here though given that this show can't really just be weekly cases and I think it'll be Chairwoman Baek who we'll have to team up with Ha Na to take down. I mean she's straight up murdering people now and I can't imagine that her double crossing Sung Chul will go down.

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 6 Episode 1

I am so so so beyond pumped that this show is back cause it is hands down my favorite currently airing DCTV show. This season is all about aliens and that's pretty fun though I have to admit that I was a little disappointed that the alien race we're following is a random one. A lot of people speculated that maybe we'd see Thanagar given that we had the Hawks in season 1 but instead it looks like we're getting the typical 80s movie aliens who abduct humans and experiment on them. The funniest reveal in this whole thing was that Gary is an alien and honestly I'm not even all that surprised given how weird he is on a normal basis! It does look like we might be separating Sara from the group for a large chunk of the season which is unfortunate cause I like my Legends together but I'm also looking forward to seeing Sara and Gary's buddy cop show in space. Maybe they'll be the ones to explore other planets cause we know Gary's ship needs fuel to get back to Earth so there's gotta be an alien gas station somewhere! Meanwhile back on Earth, Ava was trying not to panic while Zari and Constantine are really being the most adorable though they are both pretending that they're only hooking up when Zari clearly worries for John and like Astra said John is on a juice cleanse for Zari! We also got mentions of Zari 1.0 from Nate making me wonder if we've still got some Zari 1.0 to come.

The promo for next week shows us that we'll be chasing aliens across time like we did with the magical creatures and dead souls in previous seasons which should be fun! We didn't get much from Sara but I'm guessing that whatever she and Gary are up to is too much to show in a trailer!
Fruits Basket Season 3 Episode 5

Dude what the actual hell???? Momiji gave me shock after shock this week from how he suddenly grew up and became a man to revealing that he romantically loves Tohru to his curse breaking! I think it's funny that the show really just wants us to go with the idea that Momiji shot up one weekend when really the show should have slowly made him grow like I heard he does in the manga. His feelings for Tohru on the other hand don't feel like they are so sudden cause he's always had a special bond with Tohru even if she sees him like a baby brother. I do want to shout out how mature he is about his feelings though since he can see that Tohru and Kyo love one another and rather than try to steal Tohru away or something of the like, he wants to support them and push Kyo to be more courageous cause that's what will make Tohru the happiest which is ultimately all he wants. The biggest thing that attacked my feels was the fact that his curse broke and like Momiji I was wracking my brain to figure out what did it but I still can't decide! It can't be true love for someone outside of Akito cause then lots of the curses would have broken given that plenty of the zodiacs are in love. I also have to say that though I've been really enjoying what we're getting I do have to say that I miss Tohru and Kyo and I feel like this is one of the many downsides to this season only having 13 episodes rather than 26 like the normal.
The Flash Season 7 Episode 8

We're back with new episodes this week and it's interesting that we came back to the trial of Killer Frost. Last time I mentioned that I wasn't entirely sure that I would be interested in watching Frost go to trial especially given that I didn't understand why Frost of all meta criminals would have to be given the meta cure as punishment but the episode did explain away some of my problems though it left me with more questions! Kramer doesn't hate Frost but metas in general as it seems that one got 20 of her men killed cause she trusted him to be on the side of the angels but he deceived her so now she was basically just using Frost in order to set a precedent about forcing metas to give up their powers. I do wonder why she picked Frost of all people given that there were probs many more cut and dry criminals out there but maybe it's cause Frost is more famous than your average thief. My heart honestly broke for Frost cause she ended up getting a life sentence without the possibility of parole just so she could stop the future metas from being forced to take the cure but I'm left wondering if this really is the last we'll see of her. Did Danielle Panabaker decide she didn't want to play Frost anymore and that's what this is? I really just hope this doesn't mean that we'll see less of Caitlin like we do Cisco cause I'm really over the fact that the show keeps changing our main cast. Even Arrow kept it's original Team Arrow for all but one season! In other news we found the woman who was being possessed by the Strength Force and it looks like Speed!Nora killed her and I'm still wondering if she's something else pretending to be the Speed Force. I mean there's no walking back from stone cold murder and I can't see how Barry and company will be able to forgive and forget.

Yikes the promo definitely strikes a sense of fear but it also definitely does make me feel like my theory about Speed!Nora not really being the Speed Force will be true.
My Hero Academia Season 5 Episode 7

A lot of people apparently have been complaining that this arc is boring and I'm just sitting here like well I'm having fun. Like yeah of course it's more exciting to watch the heroes fight villains but I also like tournament arcs and that's partially what this is too. It's fun to see how far our kids have grown with their powers and to shine a spotlight on those we don't always see! This week was Ilia's moment where we were reminded of his brother who's okay now though still can't be a hero and how he taught Ilia to boost his power by pulling out this mufflers every day and letting them regrow which sounds so beyond painful but like good for him! I do hope that next week we get to focus on Shoto and I really want him to kick ass cause of all the heroes I can't help but feel like they all grew and yet Shoto stayed the same. Maybe this is cause he was the strongest from the start but if this season is going to focus on Endeavor and wanting to be a better person and a better dad then Shoto needs to shine too!
