Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?
I am so so so beyond pumped that this show is back cause it is hands down my favorite currently airing DCTV show. This season is all about aliens and that's pretty fun though I have to admit that I was a little disappointed that the alien race we're following is a random one. A lot of people speculated that maybe we'd see Thanagar given that we had the Hawks in season 1 but instead it looks like we're getting the typical 80s movie aliens who abduct humans and experiment on them. The funniest reveal in this whole thing was that Gary is an alien and honestly I'm not even all that surprised given how weird he is on a normal basis! It does look like we might be separating Sara from the group for a large chunk of the season which is unfortunate cause I like my Legends together but I'm also looking forward to seeing Sara and Gary's buddy cop show in space. Maybe they'll be the ones to explore other planets cause we know Gary's ship needs fuel to get back to Earth so there's gotta be an alien gas station somewhere! Meanwhile back on Earth, Ava was trying not to panic while Zari and Constantine are really being the most adorable though they are both pretending that they're only hooking up when Zari clearly worries for John and like Astra said John is on a juice cleanse for Zari! We also got mentions of Zari 1.0 from Nate making me wonder if we've still got some Zari 1.0 to come.
The promo for next week shows us that we'll be chasing aliens across time like we did with the magical creatures and dead souls in previous seasons which should be fun! We didn't get much from Sara but I'm guessing that whatever she and Gary are up to is too much to show in a trailer!
Dude what the actual hell???? Momiji gave me shock after shock this week from how he suddenly grew up and became a man to revealing that he romantically loves Tohru to his curse breaking! I think it's funny that the show really just wants us to go with the idea that Momiji shot up one weekend when really the show should have slowly made him grow like I heard he does in the manga. His feelings for Tohru on the other hand don't feel like they are so sudden cause he's always had a special bond with Tohru even if she sees him like a baby brother. I do want to shout out how mature he is about his feelings though since he can see that Tohru and Kyo love one another and rather than try to steal Tohru away or something of the like, he wants to support them and push Kyo to be more courageous cause that's what will make Tohru the happiest which is ultimately all he wants. The biggest thing that attacked my feels was the fact that his curse broke and like Momiji I was wracking my brain to figure out what did it but I still can't decide! It can't be true love for someone outside of Akito cause then lots of the curses would have broken given that plenty of the zodiacs are in love. I also have to say that though I've been really enjoying what we're getting I do have to say that I miss Tohru and Kyo and I feel like this is one of the many downsides to this season only having 13 episodes rather than 26 like the normal.
We're back with new episodes this week and it's interesting that we came back to the trial of Killer Frost. Last time I mentioned that I wasn't entirely sure that I would be interested in watching Frost go to trial especially given that I didn't understand why Frost of all meta criminals would have to be given the meta cure as punishment but the episode did explain away some of my problems though it left me with more questions! Kramer doesn't hate Frost but metas in general as it seems that one got 20 of her men killed cause she trusted him to be on the side of the angels but he deceived her so now she was basically just using Frost in order to set a precedent about forcing metas to give up their powers. I do wonder why she picked Frost of all people given that there were probs many more cut and dry criminals out there but maybe it's cause Frost is more famous than your average thief. My heart honestly broke for Frost cause she ended up getting a life sentence without the possibility of parole just so she could stop the future metas from being forced to take the cure but I'm left wondering if this really is the last we'll see of her. Did Danielle Panabaker decide she didn't want to play Frost anymore and that's what this is? I really just hope this doesn't mean that we'll see less of Caitlin like we do Cisco cause I'm really over the fact that the show keeps changing our main cast. Even Arrow kept it's original Team Arrow for all but one season! In other news we found the woman who was being possessed by the Strength Force and it looks like Speed!Nora killed her and I'm still wondering if she's something else pretending to be the Speed Force. I mean there's no walking back from stone cold murder and I can't see how Barry and company will be able to forgive and forget.
Yikes the promo definitely strikes a sense of fear but it also definitely does make me feel like my theory about Speed!Nora not really being the Speed Force will be true.
A lot of people apparently have been complaining that this arc is boring and I'm just sitting here like well I'm having fun. Like yeah of course it's more exciting to watch the heroes fight villains but I also like tournament arcs and that's partially what this is too. It's fun to see how far our kids have grown with their powers and to shine a spotlight on those we don't always see! This week was Ilia's moment where we were reminded of his brother who's okay now though still can't be a hero and how he taught Ilia to boost his power by pulling out this mufflers every day and letting them regrow which sounds so beyond painful but like good for him! I do hope that next week we get to focus on Shoto and I really want him to kick ass cause of all the heroes I can't help but feel like they all grew and yet Shoto stayed the same. Maybe this is cause he was the strongest from the start but if this season is going to focus on Endeavor and wanting to be a better person and a better dad then Shoto needs to shine too!
xoxo Allie
