What Dramas Am I Watching This Week?

Here's what I'm watching this week! Of course the list is split by country and episodes I've seen so far are written below! There will be spoilers from now on so if you aren't caught to the episode number I list, you might want to go watch that episode and then come back! If you're interested in previous lists, click here and if you want to see a list of my favorite asian OTPs and ships, click here!

KDRAMA

About Time (12/16): Choi Michaela is a musical actress. She has a special ability to see the lifespan clocks of other people. She meets a man who can stop her time and he falls in love with her.

I think I'm pretty much over this show and honestly I'm still watching it just to see how it ends. The idea of the show was so interesting but like with That Man Oh Soo, the fantasy was shoved aside for drama and it's like that was the most interesting part! I think I went into this show thinking it'd be a bit like While You Were Sleeping in that maybe the fantasy would be a way for the characters to work together or at least have a better role in the world. We're almost done with this season and yet it feels like we've been treading water for episodes on episodes. Will we ever get an explanation about these clocks? Will Mi-Ka or Do-Ha ever have chemistry? Why can't Jae-Yoo get more screentime? Why do we focus so much on the rich people politics? Does Soo-Bong have a soul whatsoever? Why does she think that ripping him apart will make him crawl back to her? Ugh ugh ugh. I want to see more singing and dancing. I want to learn more about these clocks. I want to see less of everyone moping around like we get it breakups suck. Pretty much all the characters are driving me crazy except for Jae-Yoo who I feel like should get more to do. Even our main character isn't on screen enough for me!
Are You Human Too? (10/36): The drama tells of an android called Nam Shin III who must pretend to be the son of a rich family when the real Nam Shin falls into a coma. Nam Shin's mother, Oh Ro Ra is a genius on brain technology and artificial intelligence (AI) so when her son, the real Nam Shin, is taken away from her at a young age, in her grief she creates an android that looks exactly like her son and has it grow up in the place of Nam Shin. But when Nam Shin, who is a third generation heir to PK group, gets in an accident and is comatose, the android Nam Shin III must learn how to take his place.

This is another show I'm struggling with but for different reasons cause it isn't that I don't like the plot or the characters or anything! In fact I'm really loving everything about this show now from the evil schemes that our rich people are doing to So Bong finally becoming a good character to Nam Shin III being consistently adorable. My big struggle with this show is how much chemistry So Bong and Nam Shin III have and how adorable they are together! Now normally this wouldn't be a problem but I just can't watch them be cute comfortably together when I know Nam Shin III isn't human! It's the same problem I had with Oh My Ghost for a large chunk of the season cause like the actors have great chemistry but when they're not real people it makes it wonky. I'm still hoping that Shin will wake up soon but I don't know if the romance would work with him as well cause we're watching So Bong fall for the charm and sweetness of Nam Shin III episode by episode. Like I said last week it makes sense that she would fall for him cause she has so little kindness in her life that anyone who shows her a small amount automatically becomes an important person to her. I was dying at how flirty Nam Shin III is without even meaning to! It does make me wonder if maybe this show will end with Nam Shin III's brain inside Nam Shin's body. I know that the writers of this show wanted to explore the idea of what is humanity so that might be the big and vague way to do that. I also like the idea of the grandpa faking his dementia possibly to get others to do what he wants. Sidebar I keep seeing posts about how no one likes Nam Shin's mom and that she might not be a good character after all but to be honest though I thought it was skeevy that she built a son for herself, I don't agree with her being a bad person cause despite everything her priority should be her real son and let's not forget what the grandpa did to her.
Come And Hug Me (20/32): A man and a woman suffers from wounded hearts due to a murder case that took place in their past. The man is a detective and the woman is a popular actress. When Do-Jin and Jae-Yi were high school students, they were each other's first love. Do-Jin's father Hee-Jae was a psychopath and killed Jae-Yi's parents. Do-Jin and Jae-Yi were separated afterwards. Now Do-Jin works as a detective. He treats the victim's family with care. This is his way of atoning for his father's horrific act. Meanwhile, Jae-Yi works as an actress. She followed in the footsteps of her late mother who was a famous actress. Since her parents' deaths, Jae-Yi has suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder. Do-Jin and Jae-Yi meet again.

So first things first, the reporter was murdered and I'm sitting here like sorry not sorry bitch. She was way too proud of herself and for some reason believed she was untouchable. Like no one spends that much time around a serial killer and then decides to turn on him without any kind of fear! Like who does that?? What I didn't understand with her last story was let's say Do-Jin did actually hit his father in the back of the head. Why is that a big deal? Like he was literally about to murder a girl in front of his eyes so why would trying to stop him be a story? Shouldn't people praise him for that rather than hate him or whatever? We also learned that Do-Jin's brother actually wasn't the murderer everyone thought and that someone else did everything and I think the death of the reporter is the same. For some reason the other guy is pinning it on the brother which makes no sense cause like doesn't he want to be well known like Hee-Jae? Also sidebar but can someone tell me why Hee-Jae isn't on death row? Is there not a thing like that in Korea? Meanwhile we finally got a few moments for Jae-Yi and Do-Jin to relax and be themselves in between all the craziness that they keep getting thrown into. I loved their scene in the car when Jae-Yi wouldn't stop staring at Do-Jin who chugged a bottle of water cause he was so flustered and I died of cuteness overload. I think I need the show to balance itself more for me to like it better. Like we get too much sadness that it overpowers any sweet moments and that throws me off. I was screaming when the show cut off right before their kiss though I don't know if they'll go through with it next week after all.
Handsome Guy and Jung Eum/The Undateables (20/32): Hoon-Nam knows about love theoretically, but he rejects falling in love. Jung-Eum wants to fall in love, but, due to her difficult situation, she gives up on finding love. Hoon-Nam and Jung-Eum meet and develop a relationship romantically.

So this was the breakup episode for the week and though I was thrilled with Coach Yang and Yook-Ryong, I was beyond annoyed with the Hoon-Nam and Jung-Eum break up. First of all she broke up with him in front of people and I hate that garbage. A relationship is private and by dragging your shit in public, it makes you the dumper look even worse than the dumpee. She did apologize eventually but that doesn't make it any better especially since I'm always against airing your dirty laundry in public no matter what it is. I also hate that not only did he not explain to her what happened when she gave him the chance but that she also didn't give him more than a few seconds before giving up and when she was finally listened, it didn't change her mind. I kind of expected that if I'm being honest cause like it's way too early for them to get back together but I'm already sick of it. I don't understand why dramas think it's fun to get their characters together really early and then spend episodes upon episodes with them broken up. I was hoping that maybe after Lawless Lawyer where they got back together after two episodes that we might see something similar here. It's also super irritating that literally everyone is up in their business. I wanted Hoon-Nam to punch Yook-Ryong in the damn face when he was like oh did you actually like her as if he hadn't admitted that several times before and then he went around telling people about the bet like it was something to brag about. I'm so glad Coach came to her senses and dumped his ass cause he's the worst. This show has been so up and down for me and I don't even know what I hope for to make it better....
Investigation Couple/Partners For Justice (20/32): Baek Beom has worked as a forensic doctor for 10 years. He has a bad personality, but he is excellent with his work. Baek Beom does not open his mind to other people. Eun Sol is a rookie prosecutor with a warm heart. She has a bright personality and she comes from wealth family background. The forensic doctor and prosecutor work together to solve case.

Okay I'm sorry but this show is pretty much the worst in terms of how much it irritates me to watch. Like I love the cases and watching what happens but everything the prosecutors do makes me feel nothing but second hand embarrassment. Eun Sol spends episodes completely silent and allows Kang Hyun to run all over her even though she can clearly see that things aren't right. Kang Hyun is so focused on his hatred for Baek Beom that he literally twists different scenarios to fit what he wants to happen. I do agree that if Baek Beom was a suspect that he shouldn't have been allowed to do the autopsy but they had no right to arrest him with only a damn phone call as evidence. Cha Soo Hoo seems to be the only competent one working this case and it's clearly going to be the escaped criminal who murdered the investigator and in most cases he would be the first suspect but Hyun's head is so far up his own ass that he can't see straight and Eun Sol who should have been more objective is standing in the background of her own case. Ugh. I would love to drop this show cause it makes me so annoyed but at the same time I want to know what happens next.
Lawless Lawyer (14/16): When Bong Sang-Pil was little, he lived with his mother in Gisung. His mother worked as a lawyer and she took on a case that Judge Cha Moon-Sook got involved with. Judge Cha Moon-Sook was the most respected person in the city. One night, Bong Sang-Pil witnessed his mother get killed by Judge Cha Moon-Sook's subordinate. Bong Sang-Pil got out of Gisung and went to live with his gang boss uncle Choi Dae-Woong. Bong Sang-Pil decided to become a lawyer to take revenge on those responsible for his mother's death. 18 years later, Bong Sang-Pil works as a lawyer. He sees news on the TV that a detective was arrested for killing the mayor of Gisung. The detective holds a key to the murder of Bong Sang-Pil's mother. Bong Sang-Pil returns to Gisung for the first time in 18 years. He opens up a law office there. Meanwhile, Ha Jae-Yi is a lawyer with integrity. She beats up a judge in court and gets her law license suspended. Ha Jae-Yi returns to her hometown of Gisung. There, Bong Sang-Pil approaches Ha Jae-Yi and gets her to work at his law office. Bong Sang-Pil holds a secret related to the death of Ha Jae-Yi’s mother.

Last week's episodes of this show left a bitter taste in my mouth cause I pretty much always hate the obligatory break up episodes in a drama (unless I don't particularly ship the main couple) because they always cause one of the main leads to act completely out of character but most of the time it's a problem that can be solved by simply talking! That is why I was thrilled that Lawless Lawyer not only spent just half of an episode with Jae-Yi pissed at Sang-Pil but we also moved quickly past Jae-Yi acting like an emotional and impulsive person who cares nothing for her safety. I did find it hilarious that we also threw away the whole thing with Sang-Pil where he was afraid that Jae-Yi being around him put her into danger. I loved his plan to save Jae-Yi's mom (who I still cannot get myself to give a single shit about other than the fact that her death would have ruined my couple) and their reunion was so perfectly them (I loved that Jae-Yi stormed in and punched him before hugging him.) Judge Cha is a bit of a moron in these episodes cause as much as I loved her being pulled down a notch, it's weird that her big plan is to ruin all her underlings as if doing that won't turn them against her and give Sang-Pil and Jae-Yi the advantage. I also loved how Sang-Pil was like you didn't factor Jae-Yi into your plan and that's going to be your downfall. I was a bit annoyed for a second when Jae-Yi rushed to Mayor An without telling anyone what happened or that her dad needs protection but as the episode went on I think it makes more sense that she did that on purpose cause I also assumed that her dad had left with her mom at the top of the episode. I can't wait to see the last two episodes of the season and I'm going to be heartbroken next week when this show comes to an end cause it's been my favorite of the spring/summer drama slate so far.
Miss Hammurabi (11/16): Park Cha Oh-Reum works as a rookie judge. She is in her mid-20's and follows "an eye for an eye" principle. She does not accept prejudice or blindly follow authority. Dealing with cases, she and her colleagues, including Im Ba-Reun, grow as people.

Before I get into this week's episodes, can we take a moment to appreciate just how adorable L is? I'm so in love and every time he smiles my heart flutters as if it's the first time. Anyway focus girl. We should be talking about how the first episode was a bit boring (but by no means was it a bad) and that the second one actually made me cry. I enjoyed that the first episode showed us what the consequences of Oh-Reum's decision last week were and how even she gets beat down a little when everyone's against her but that Ba-Reun and Judge Han and a few others had her back allowing her to get back up. I totally feel the frustration she felt with the world and how it always seems to favor those who are bad just because they have all the power. It was especially evident in the second episode with those poor kids who were addicted to glue (which by the by I didn't even know was a thing you could get high off of.) I felt so much for Ga On especially when he admitted that he only got high to see his mom. Just all the tears. I do think this whole thing was resolved a little too nicely but at the same time I understand that it's a tv show and sometimes our heroes need a win. Young-Joon's speech about power almost seduced me as well until he called Ba-Reun out again and told him that he basically wants Oh-Reum to be his trophy wife. I really don't understand his character cause like why does he exist in this show except to annoy everyone with how insecure he is and how he needs to constantly rub it in Ba-Reun's face. Also if you're going to flaunting your money around, why use it to take orphans to another country? Wouldn't better funding for schools or food be more useful? Also confusing is the relationship between Bo Wang and Do Yeon cause she seems to never tell him anything but then gets upset when he misreads a situation. Girl if you want him to see you in a better light, tell him the damn truth which is why I was relieved in the second episode when she finally told him a smidgen of what was happening in her life.
What's Wrong With Secretary Kim (8/16): What's Wrong With Secretary Kim revolves around the narcissistic Lee Young Joon, the vice president of a company run by his family. He is very self absorbed and thinks highly of himself, so much so that he barely acknowledges the people around him. Lee Young Joon has a capable and patient secretary in Kim Mi So who has remained by his side and worked diligently for 9 years without any romantic involvement. But Mi So has grown tired of her frustrating boss so when she decides to resign from her job, hilarious misunderstandings ensue. After 9 years of their strictly-workplace relationship, can it now develop in something more?

That kiss guys! OMG! I was squealing! I love this show so much! It makes me laugh so hard every episode and each week I fall more and more in love with the whole cast. One thing this show does so well besides the romance between our main leads is that it makes you so interested in the side characters. Characters I thought were annoying in the first episode are suddenly adorable like Ji-Ran who I totally want to be with Secretary Yang cause he's clearly into her and I just about died when she lost her bra padding in the mountain and he threw his jacket all heroic like to cover it up. The music and slow motion throw added to my death. Mr Go is insane and I really didn't expect that from him when he first showed up! I have the feels that something romantic is going to happen between him and Ji-Ah (even if I don't entirely want that cause I find him so irritating) cause all the time he spends hovering around her trying to prevent her from telling his secret is going to make him realize how awesome she is. I also adore Yoo-Shik and his friendship with Young-Joon. It was the first time I actually felt that they cared for each other cause in most previous episodes Young-Joon seemed to be forcing himself on Yoo-Shik. I loved all their scenes together since week especially when he tried to prevent Young-Joon from seeing Mi-So and Sung-Yeon together in the car and then when he crashed their date and threw himself at Young-Joon's feet cause he knows he screwed up. But let's be honest cause the best part of this show is Mi-So and Young-Joon. I loved that Mi-So finally admitted she liked him to and that she was able to kiss him first and didn't get upset with his trauma with kissing. I really want to know what's up with the brother especially since we've pretty much confirmed that it was actually Young-Joon with Mi-So so I'm curious as to why not only is Young-Joon hiding it when it clearly bothers him that Mi-So thinks Sung-Yeon is her "oppa" but so is the family. What a mean thing for the family to do if Sung-Yeon had nothing to do with the kidnapping! Also can we talk about how annoying he is as a character in general? Even when he was "admitting his feelings" towards Mi-So, he looked straight at Young-Joon as if he was trying to prove a point by stealing something from Young-Joon which he all but admitted weeks ago.
Wok Of Love/Greasy Melo (24/40): Set at a small Chinese restaurant. Drama series follows Seo Poong's attempts at survival, food and love. Chef Seo Poong was once a star chef and worked at the best Chinese restaurant. His popularity faded and he eventually wound up working at a small, failing Chinese restaurant. Meanwhile, Doo Chil-Seong is the owner of a building. He is an ex-gang member and he was in jail for 5 years.

After what feels like ages we're finally back with Wok of Love and man did I miss this show! After thinking about it, this might have moved up to my second favorite show that's airing right now cause I look forward to watching new episodes and I'm never bored during them! It helped that the episodes this week all about a cooking competition and I love watching Poong cook! I also loved that he won the competition fair and square but since it's too early in the season for Hungry Wok to do well I wasn't surprised that he lost the customers in the end especially through sketchy means cause without that Poong is probably the better chef! Also straight up his food did look better in both cases though maybe that's cause I don't usually like upscale food anyway cause it always seems too pretentious to me (and like what even are those portions they serve you??) Poong finally admitted his feelings for Sae-Woon this week as well and not only was I glad we got more than an awkward peck of a kiss from them but then we were treated to multiple kisses and an adorable relationship. It's still pretty early on in the season for them to have gotten together but this show doesn't feel like a melodrama so I'm hoping that we won't go the dramatic breakup route and if we do it'll be short lived or more comedic than anything else. My favorite moment was when Sae-Woon was trying to hide their relationship in the kitchen by banging pots and pans and Poong is just standing there smiling like a loon and she's yelling at him to stop smiling at her. I am a little annoyed with the rest of the kitchen staff cause like I don't understand why they hate Poong. Like I get the mom cause she's one of those rich moms who wants her daughter to date a rich guy (as if that matters cause look at the rich guy she approved of and how he broke her daughter's heart) but the other two hate him cause he's "mean" in the kitchen as if they've forgotten he's the damn boss. How else is he supposed to act when you screw up? I'm also not thrilled that they're all still hiding that they're a family from Poong (like what did I miss that makes them think he'd give a shit?) and even Sae-Woon was like we need to hide our relationship but then wouldn't explain why. On another note, I didn't really care about Chil-Seong's mama drama if I'm being honest but I guess it gives him something better to do other than hover around Sae-Woon so there's that.

CDRAMA

Legend of Fu Yao (12/66): Meng Fu Yao, a woman born from a divine lotus petal. She journeys through the five continents towards the heavens in search of a secret order and to reveal a conspiracy originating from the heavens. In the process, she falls in love with the crown prince Zhangsun Wuji.

Who else is loving this show?? It's still a little too heavy in the politics for me to love and I do wish sometimes that these kinds of shows with huge worlds would draw us a map or explain the kingdoms at the top of an episode but overall I'm enjoying myself! I love Fu Yao as a character and her chemistry with Wuji is amazing and I can't wait to see them fall in love. Wuji I believe is already halfway there but Fu Yao is clearly not immune cause there's a clear difference in her interactions with Wuji and Bei Ye where clearly she's not bothered by Bei Ye but when Wuji flirts with her, she gets flustered. I'm also adoring Lan Zhu and I want nothing more than for her to get her man cause she is completely adorable. I love watching characters making friends and becoming a team and already we have the beginnings of a great one and I'm looking forward to when Bei Ye/Lan Zhu and Wuji/Fu Yao meet up!
Legend of Yun Xi (2/48): Han Yun Xi is the daughter of an imperial physician who lost her mother when young, but maintains a cheerful and optimistic disposition. Yun Xi is naturally talented in medical science and proficient in traditional medicine, but suffers from the jealousy and avoidance of others. By a stroke of fate, she marries the Duke of Qin, Long Fei Ye, and becomes embroiled in the changing politics of the imperial court. Yun Xi relies on her high-level medical skills, wise, far-sighted brain, and compassionate heart to expel the poisons of a great official, get rid of secret agents for the Duke of Qin, eliminate the plague for the common citizens, and cure the crown prince’s strange illness. Yun Xi’s kindness as a doctor not only earns her the appreciation of the masses, but helps the Duke of Qin overcome many nefarious plots, including the rebellion of the Chu siblings. After a series of unfortunate accidents, her medical skills grow even more unparalleled and she even gains the admiration and adoration of the Duke of Qin. Both of them take fame lightly in favor of digging into the medical field. In the end, they leave the clamor of court intrigue behind them and go in seclusion in the mountains, living a happy life free from worldly cares.

I've been a bit addicted to cdramas set in different time periods currently so I've been attempting to check out any and all that sound interesting and this one definitely did! Like I've said before my struggle with finding good dramas set in different time periods is that the synopsis of all of them are always the same but this show caught my attention with the idea that the heroine is a master of poisons! I've seen two episodes so far and I'm loving what I'm seeing. There's a whole lot of politics (even this early on) but so far it's manageable and I've been able to follow along with who is who as of yet. It also helps that when a new character is introduced most times a description of who they are pops up. I'm loving Yun Xi and Fei Ye's interactions so far though I was a bit confused when the first episode started in the middle of the plot (and after they got married) before jumping back to the beginning. I'm such a sucker for arranged marriage stories where the couple slowly falls in love (especially after Siege in Fog) so this is right up my alley! I'm loving all the characters so far but we haven't got much plot other than a backstory so I can't say how I feel about the plot yet though I am enjoying the backstory so far. It also seems as though the mark on Yun Xi's face was apparently due to poison her father is feeding her which makes me wonder if this is one of those shows with birth secrets or something!
Sweet Dreams (1/45): Ling Ling Qi is a sincere, kind girl who's always happy to lend a hand to others, but she also has low self-esteem, which has severely impacted her life, making her unable to do her best at work and fulfill her dreams. She's also afraid to express her feelings for her colleague that she's been harboring a crush on, B0 Hai. One day, Ling Ling Qi and Bo Hai take part ina company's high tech experimental bracelet test to improve sleeping patterns. During the test, the bracelet malfunctions, leading Ling Ling Qi's electro brain waves to be keyed into Bo Hai's dream sequence, which allowed Ling Ling Qi to enter Bo Hai's dreams. Drama focuses on how the two characters help each other fix their own personal problems within their dreams and real lives.

I decided to check out this show for multiple reasons. Not only did I love the main leads, Dilmurat Dilraba from Flame's Daughter and Deng Lun from Because of You, but I also loved the premise of this story cause it reminded me heavily of While You Were Sleeping which is one of my favorite kdramas! I've only seen one episode so far and I was pleasantly surprised by it! I love the way the show is filmed to be more comedic and kind of like a jdrama with the way that reactions are over the top sometimes and animation is added to make moments feel more dramatic. It's one of the silliest shows I'm watching so far and I love it. The main leads already seem to have chemistry and I like the idea that they will be solving problems together and that both think they're just dreaming for now. It's very creative that a sleep bracelet is linking them. I'm definitely excited to check out more and I hope this is one that actually gets subbed pretty quickly. The side characters also seem to be fun and no one is evil yet but I have a feeling that when that evil character pops up since this is a romcom, the evil won't be too intense!
FINISHED The Flame's Daughter (52/52): Lie Ru Ge is the daughter of the master of Lie Huo Manor which is the most powerful Jiang Hu sect. She is a cheerful beauty who’s trying to regain her eldest senior’s heart after he suddenly goes back on his promise to marry her. In an effort to learn how to attract her beloved again, she goes to the most popular brothel house where she meets Yin Xue, the brothel owner and "Number One Beauty." Little does she know, Yin Xue has a mysterious past that involves her and will go to the ends of the earth to protect her.

When I started this show last week I was so excited about it because so much of it was fascinating and I loved the world but as the show went on I started to feel more like this show was a bit too many episodes and kind of draggy especially in the middle. Yin Xue died pretty early on in the season and though we all knew he was going to come back cause hello he's the main lead, it took forever and a day for him to return and as much as I loved the side characters it was a bit of a struggle. I said I had a bit of a struggle with the chemistry between Yin Xue and Ru Ge when I started the show and I think it persisted until the end but unlike About Time, I still thought the couple was cute and I enjoyed their interactions even if in my heart of hearts I would have preferred Zhan Feng. I was also a bit disappointed that Ru Ge never truly became the badass we thought she would be. She suddenly got all this fire power halfway through the season but then never did anything with it again. I did love her acting like her mother and tricking An Ye Luo though and at first I was a bit disappointed that they dropped the charade so quickly but it came back around so that was awesome. I also liked that we got a happy ending with our main leads. There was a lot more of the prince than I cared for if I'm being honest and though Zhan Feng was an ass for most of the show, I loved when he realized the truth and switched sides and honestly I loved that despite everything Ru Ge was his one true love. I also liked Lei Jing Hong and Duo Lie Xiang at first but as the season went on I was less and less interested in them and felt like their relationship was written poorly. Lie Xiang literally kidnapped and supressed his powers and then got angry with him when he refused to bow down to her brothers and claimed that she was compromising but literally she was not giving anything up! I was not a fan of how she reacted when her brother died and I wasn't thrilled how they ended either. I kind of wanted him with Feng Huang to be honest. Overall I enjoyed this show for what it was but it's not probably one that I would rewatch or consider to be one of my favorites. I'd give it a 8.5 / 10!

TWDRAMA

Single Ladies Senior (12/15): Four best friends from college are finding success as modern career women. Wang Mi Na, Yin Ge Li, Weng Mei Yan and Bai Ya Xuan are considered princesses in a tower because of their focus on their work and careers. But as they each face their own challenges of career vs. relationship, must they make a choice or can they have both?

Ugh so I'm definitely on the second lead train in this show and that's the ultimate struggle cause by this point in the show I'm almost 100% sure that Mi Na is going to choose Yi Fan no matter how much I wish it wasn't so. I wasn't sure who the first and second leads were at first cause even though the show started with showing us Mi Na and Yi Fan, Mi Na and Shao Qi made out twice and it made me hope that maybe this show would be about moving on from a first love rather than circling back but as the season goes on, Shao Qi is clearly into Mi Na but she hasn't given any indication that she sees him as anything more than a friend or even worse an annoying brother while she's having sexy dreams about Yi Fan. I don't care if he actually didn't cheat on Mi Na cause he still let her believe it and picked money over love which is something a male lead shouldn't do! Now that he knows that Ge Li's dad didn't actually help his uncle that he'll turn around and go back to Mi Na which makes me so angry cause shows like this really want me to believe that a girl like Mi Na would sit around for ten years moping when hot guys like Shao Qi make out with her! Ugh. On the other hand Mei Yan's relationship with the car mechanic is super cute and I'm a little worried about Ya Xuan's boy cheating on her again cause I feel like he's been using her for like ten years. Once again the preview makes me hope that maybe Mi Na will choose Shao Qi but we've got like three more episodes left of this show and I'm feeling like we're not going to end where I would like to so I'm trying to keep my expectations low.

The World Cup is still on this week so a bunch of shows got preempted again so that's why once again I wasn't able to watch as many as I normally would!

KDRAMA

About Time (10/16): Choi Michaela is a musical actress. She has a special ability to see the lifespan clocks of other people. She meets a man who can stop her time and he falls in love with her.

Ugh guys the worst part about not being able to binge something is that you end up somewhere really fascinating but you have to stop cause the episode ended and like yeah yeah that's how tv shows are supposed to hook you but hardcore I binge so much now that I can't help but want all of it at once! I was surprised that it took Mi-Ka a whole episode to dump Do-Ha but I guess it makes sense cause she'd need time to process it all. Honestly I'm more excited to see what happens during their breakup than I ever was to see their relationship and I know eventually they'll get back together but still! I was also surprised that Mi-Ka didn't tell her friend right away what was happening cause it was clear she wanted to confide in someone but like Sung-Hee is the only one who knows so it was strange. I'm still living for Jae-Yoo being the best part of this and I can't even tell you why. I loved his dry commentary throughout this episode as he called it like it was and I think it's kind of hilarious that he went from someone I thought was going to be the second male lead to the bestie of the third (?) female lead and it's slaying me. All that talk about never being in love did make me wonder who he will fall for cause come on it's a drama! I was also kind of impressed with how Mi-Ka finally got Do-Ha to let her go by reversing the situation and saying that he was stealing her time cause that was so smart cause everyone and their mother knows that he would have been like whatever take all my time if she told him the truth! But honestly can we talk about how much it sucks to date a rich guy in these dramas? Like as much as I would love to say that I would fight for my love, I think it would just hardcore exhaust me and no man is worth losing my self respect.

I'm struggling with this show guys really I am. There's so much potential for this show to be good but it's sort of treading into murky waters for me. I really don't like romance between robots, AIs, etc and I'm seriously getting that vibe from this show cause Nam Shin III is so human-like and clearly has emotions even though he shouldn't. I can see a romance forming cause he's probably one of the only people in the world who's been kind of So Bong which makes her struggle to remember that he's not human all the time and treats him well so I feel like it's only inevitable that they fall for each other. On the plus side based on the episodes that aired this week it sounded a bit like Ro Ra wants to move Nam Shin III's memories into Nam Shin when he wakes up so I can see that as a way to allow So Bong to end up with the real Nam Shin. Other than the meh romance, I'm still loving Nam Shin III and how he views the world. I do wish we could see a bit more of our good guys outsmarting the bad guys cause seriously Nam Shin III is a robot but he always seems to make the worse decisions which leads to an interesting idea that humans are the only ones able to look at a range of options and pick the best one for a situation though to me writing it out like that makes it seem like an easy programmable fix for a robot too!
Come And Hug Me (18/32): A man and a woman suffers from wounded hearts due to a murder case that took place in their past.

So much craziness is going down on this show and I know I say this every week but that damn reporter has got to go! If she doesn't die or get ruined professionally by the end of this show I will be so disappointed. I did like Jae-Yi's brother calling her out on being another version of a psychopath cause she is. Unlike Hee-Jae, her weapon of choice is her words and articles and she does not give a single shit about who she hurts or how she hurts them. I knew that Jae-Yi and Do-Jin's feelings for each other were going to get out by her cause she dug into that story from like the first moment we met her and I'm already seeing myself getting pissed in the future when the public starts blaming Jae-Yi and Do-Jin for all of Hee-Jae's murders AGAIN. Like for the love of everything why is it so hard to place the blame on the person who deserves it rather than everyone else in the world?? I get more and more pissed every week when Jae-Yi's brother lectures her on how terrible Do-Jin and his family is cause not only is he doing the blame the family thing I hate but when he's around Jae-Yi shuts down and I like her when she's more confident. I need her to say something to him before the season ends. I am also getting a little tired of this show constantly shitting on Do-Jin and Jae-Yi like can they please get a moment to be happy? I compared this show to Just Between Lovers when I first started watching it but in JBL we at least got trauma mixed with romance and humor and cute moments. This show is starting to feel like torture porn and I'm not a fan.
Handsome Guy and Jung Eum/The Undateables (18/32): Hoon-Nam knows about love theoretically, but he rejects falling in love. Jung-Eum wants to fall in love, but, due to her difficult situation, she gives up on finding love. Hoon-Nam and Jung-Eum meet and develop a relationship romantically.

This week's episodes were a mixed bag cause there was stuff I liked and stuff I didn't like which is pretty par for the course for this show. I loved watching Hoon-Nam and Jung-Eum's relationship grow and seeing how completely adorable it was and how embarrassing Hoon-Nam flailing about the gallery was. So much for being a relationship guru cause the second he actually fell in love he became putty and I'm living for it! I am glad that the bet thing is now out of the way cause I hated that storyline and though Jung-Eum wants to break up I'm hoping that next week she at least listens to Hoon-Nam explain. Why would you even listen to Yook Ryong in the first place? He is a bigger asshole than Hoon-Nam could ever be. I'm hoping that after this week Coach Yang will change her mind about it. I'm also not thrilled with the appearance of a second female lead cause we have enough with the bet to ruin things but I wonder if she appeared to be Jun-Soo's future love interest. Speaking of it's still weird to me that Jun-Soo just magically grew feelings for Jung-Eum now after 30 years cause unlike in Fight My Way where Ae-Ra was into Dong-Man for years, in flashbacks these two are pretty platonic so I can't even complain that he waited too long and missed his chance. Also I'm sorry but those note things that he pasted all over the way home was more creepy than cute in my opinion but that's probs only cause I like Hoon-Nam more. I'm also not thrilled with Hoon-Nam moving into the same house as Jung-Eum and Jun-Soo cause that was so cringy in the not fun way. The worst though was Jun-Soo acting like a jealous boyfriend for two episodes like get a life man. I did love that it led to Hoon-Nam showing how much of a great boyfriend he is though cause instead of commanding Jung-Eum to stop seeing Jun-Soo, he was straight with her (even if he still played those dumb I'm better than you games with Jun-Soo later) about how uncomfortable he was with Jun-Soo and Jung-Eum living together after Jun-Soo admitted his feelings. I still wish we could go back to the Undateables cause I want to see Hoon-Nam and Jung-Eum being cute while matchmaking instead of whatever relationship nonsense we're getting. Who wants this??
Lawless Lawyer (12/16): When Bong Sang-Pil was little, he lived with his mother in Gisung.

I was not a huge fan of the episodes that aired this week cause everything was really somber throughout the episodes and I was really irritated by a bunch of things. First of all Jae-Yi shouldn't blame anyone for Mama turning out to be her mother cause damn girl you really should have recognized your own mother and honestly Jae-Yi has always been emotional but she always listened to reason before jumping to conclusions so I wasn't thrilled that she automatically assumed Sang-Pil was using her mother though then again she gave him the chance to explain and he refused cause he's feeling guilty about dragging her into his fight. Secondly how annoying was it that her mom told Sang-Pil the truth and then not only asked him to lie to Jae-Yi "for reasons" (aka when there's no real reason other than plot demands it) but also wanted him to stay away from Jae-Yi as if it's not too late for that noble sacrifice nonsense. Like I got that vibe that Sang-Pil felt really guilty all of episode 11 so for someone else to voice his fears clearly affected him. But what I don't get is that everyone already knows that Sang-Pil's one and only weakness is Jae-Yi now that his uncle died and she's way too involved in this whole mess as it is so I doubt that breaking up with her or breaking her heart would cause her to stop fighting when in fact she might just go fight on her own. Thirdly the mess with Judge Cha made no sense. She was just like whatever come at me I'm still running for Chief Justice and then planned a whole thing to make her look sympathetic. If this was real there's no freaking way she'd have any chance of being Chief Justice anymore cause in order to become one you need to be squeaky clean! Other than that I did enjoy the fight between her and Mayor Ahn and that it turned out that Cha was actually behind everything and brought Sang-Pil to her city to get rid of her allies. I also loved that Scorpion is clearly on Sang-Pil's side (cause he needs all the people on his side that he can get) and now they're curious as to why the number 2 guy was so hellbent on believing Sang-Pil killed his uncle (cause he's greedy af.) Like I said I did expect a breakup eventually cause the couple got together so quickly but I hope we don't have to wait until the final episode of Sang-Pil and Jae-Yi to get back together cause I'll miss their cute moments! Honestly I don't care if Jae-Yi's mom dies but I want her to be okay cause if she does die, Jae-Yi will never find out the truth and will probs blame Sang-Pil so I hope she's rescued next week.
Miss Hammurabi (9/16): Park Cha O Reum works as a rookie judge. She is in her mid-20's and follows "an eye for an eye" principle. She does not accept prejudice or blindly follow authority. Dealing with cases, she and her colleagues, including Im Ba-Reun, grow as people.

This show continually surprises me with how solid it is week after week. We're more than halfway through and though some of the earlier episodes might still be my favorite of the group, the two this week were really interesting cause we got two cases in one for the first episode and the second was another where Oh-Reum went off the rails again. The first was an attempted suicide and hardcore it was hard to watch cause everyone involved in that guy's life was just horrid. The stuff depicted/portrayed is the stuff of work nightmares and the mom being such a helicopter parent would kill me. I was a bit worried when I saw how much Ba-Reun seemed to connect with the case cause it was super unlike him to get so emotional but it was also strange cause it didn't seem like he was depressed as well and we never did get an explanation on why he cared so much. On the other hand I enjoyed the second case a lot more cause it also showed us more of Judge Han's home life which was fun. The best part of the episode though has to be the final scene when Ba-Reun played guitar for Oh-Reum's mom and she was humming along to it while Oh-Reum was sobbing. I almost started crying myself! Episode 9 was fun though I'm not sure if I love episodes where the court is called into question cause like I've said before Oh-Reum's ideals are there but she always charges into situations head first with no thought or idea of consequences. I mean luckily Ba-Reun is there to put the brakes on but she doesn't always listen. And seriously she needs to stop lecturing him about poor people cause I know she's struggling now but it's not like he's a rich kid either. Sidebar I don't know if Ba-Reun lost it after Oh-Reum rejected him but I was dying during all his snarky side comments towards Judge Han that hardcore felt a bit out of nowhere.
FINISHED Revolutionary Love (16/16): Byun Hyuk is a son from a wealthy family who runs a large company. He lives a happy life without any specific goals. He is confident around women and he is also naive, with a warm heart. Byun Hyuk begins to live in a studio in a poor area. He hides his background. Baek Joon lives in the same area. She works part-time jobs to make ends meet. Baek Joon graduated from a good university, but she was unable to land a job at a company and started taking part-time jobs. She is positive and full of justice, but her life changes when Byun Hyuk appears.

This show was so strange for me cause I started it and thought the first two episodes were really good but then the next like 3 or so were so awful that I almost dropped this show but I decided to give it another chance and started watching it again and I ended up really enjoying it. The humor in this show was touch and go at the start but as the show progressed it became funnier and funnier and my kind of humor. I really enjoyed watching the characters grow especially our main Hyuk who started so naive and seriously dumb that it was because of him I almost dropped the show. The second lead was just as annoying cause he spent all season whining about how unfair it was that rich people had it better but it was like dude if you hate this, quit and do something else! Hyuk's father was written to be such a strange character cause it's like he was the absolute worst, greedy and abusive, but at the same time he had all these amazing moments of humor and genuine love for his son that for a while you wonder if maybe he's just playing Hyuk to make him better only for the show to reveal that yes in fact he is the worst. Hyuk's brother was even worse than his father I'd say cause he did everything to ruin Hyuk's life just cause he was worried Hyuk might take his spot in the company and while the father was brought to justice, Woo Sung was just played off in the end like oh well that's Woo Sung for you. What won me over about this show though was not only that Hyuk's mother was the sweetest kdrama mom ever but I loved Hyuk's relationship with Joon. Unfortunately their ending was super weird and like all season Joon was pushing Hyuk away "for reasons" so much so that I couldn't even tell if she liked Hyuk or Jae-Hoon better. Overall I had a fun time watching the main trio and all the cleaning staff plot out plans and then do them but there was really no substance to this show for me to latch on to. I'd give this show an 8 / 10.
What's Wrong With Secretary Kim? (6/16): What's Wrong With Secretary Kim revolves around the narcissistic Lee Young Joon, the vice president of a company run by his family.

Ahhh guys!!! We almost got our first kiss already but the aftermath of the almost kiss was the best part!! I was dying and the sound effects didn't help. I really didn't expect for them to basically admit their feelings this week cause I expected both Mi-So and Young-Joon to be confused for a longer time but I love that since they've got so much history together, it's like turning the page in a well loved book rather than opening a new book completely! I adore the two of them together and I swear to you that I would not be half as in love with Young-Joon as I am if another actor played him. Park Seo-Joon brings this wonderful quality to him that makes him seem more naive and earnest rather than an asshole. Speaking of assholes, I cannot stand Sung-Yeon. I wanted to give him a fair shake cause as of yet we haven't seen anything proving it, but I'm almost completely sure that he's not a good guy based on the vibe I get off of him and how Young-Joon seems to react. It doesn't help that he's trying to lure Mi-So just because Young-Joon likes her especially through a power play (like I hate in dramas) where he's like come spend time with me or I won't do insert task here for you. I also didn't believe it when they said that it was Sung-Yeon who got kidnapped cause first of all Young-Joon is the male lead so it obviously has to be him but secondly when Sung-Yeon told the story about being tormented by his brother and his friends I got a weird feeling like somehow Sung-Yeon has taken Young-Joon's memories for himself either on purpose to make himself look better to Mi-So or by accident like a mental break or something. I also feel kind of sketch about Mi-So's psychiatrist sister cause all she seems to do is badmouth Young-Joon and put down Mi-So cause like heaven forbid that someone's actually into her sister for more than nefarious reasons. Normally I would agree that rich people aren't worth their family drama (hello About Time) but Young-Joon's parents are so adorable and they love Mi-So so I don't think there will be any drama on that part.

CDRAMA

Legend of Fu Yao (6/66): Meng Fu Yao, a woman born from a divine lotus petal. She journeys through the five continents towards the heavens in search of a secret order and to reveal a conspiracy originating from the heavens. In the process, she falls in love with the crown prince Zhangsun Wuji.

This originally wasn't a show that I was going to watch or was even curious about but it popped up on my drama feed one day and the first two episodes were subbed so I figured why the hell not check it out. It stars Yang Mi who I only knew from The Negotiator and I hated her in that cause she was so emotionless/expressionless throughout the whole thing but I always like to give actors more than one chance cause sometimes they are just directed to be stoic and in another show it might be different like how I basically fell in love with William Chan in Mystic Nine after being meh about him in Only Side By Side With You. It's too early to tell if I enjoy her better in this show but at the very least her lack of emotion hasn't bothered me yet (I might start to struggle when the romance starts) and I'm enjoying what I saw so far. I loved that she knew that the heir apparent was a fake from the start cause it cuts out the drama about lying. Their chemistry is great so far and I love them together. The show started out with a lot of political intrigue but then somehow turned into more of a Harry Potter Goblet of Fire/Hunger Games type of situation though I think after the sixth episode we're probably going back to politics which ugh. I hope there's more of a quest in this show the way the synopsis leads me to believe. Also the sect that Fu Yao grew up in is terrible. When she gave up the fight politely, they embarrassed her and then when she won fair and square, they called it cheating. Ugh. At first I struggled with all the characters we were introduced to but I'm slowly starting to understand who is who. I do still struggle with the world we're in though. There's supposedly 5 kingdoms as the synopsis leads us to believe so does that mean each kingdom has a different ruler? Is the sect part of the kingdom the evil guy and the heir apparent is from or is outside of all the kingdoms? Does it produce all the martial artists in the kingdoms and then the people get to pick where they go or do they all go to the palace where the evil guy wants to rule and each kingdom has their own version of the sect? Is Fu Yao the heir apparent (as the rainbow in the clouds seemed to indicate) to another kingdom or this one? Does the fact that she's born from a lotus petal (what does that even mean tbh) mean that she has special blood and could that be a way for others to recognize who she is? So many questions, so few answers!
FINISHED Love's Lies (44/44): A package containing methamphetamine shatters the once peaceful life of an average white collar worker named Dou Dou. The sender is Dou Dou's ex-boyfriend Jin Yuan who ran from their wedding seven years ago. Dou Dou changes course en route to the police station and decides to confrontJin Yuan. Detective Qiao Liang has been keeping tabs on Jin Yuan for his suspected involvement with the crime syndicate that range from drug trafficking to money laundering. Unwilling to let go of her ex, Dou Dou takes it upon herself to help Jin Yuan turn over a new leaf, oblivious to his real identity as an undercover cop.

What a strange ending to a strange show. There were highs and there were lows. At some points I was so enthralled in the story and then at other points I was basically fast forwarding through the episodes. I think my biggest struggle was that there was nothing really about this show that I loved to pieces. Even if a show is average if there's something I can connect with I fall in love! Honestly I'm really easy to please so it's always disappointing when a show doesn't work for me though clearly I sat through 44 episodes so it wasn't that terrible. I liked the outsmarting each other aspect of the show cause you know I love watching elaborate plans play out but other than that there was nothing much that caught my attention. I loved Shao Yang's relationship with Jin Yuan and Dou Dou only for it to dissolve into a mess with drugs and then when we thought we were finally in the clear, he was killed just as he said that he didn't care who Jin Yuan was working for cause they were his family. It broke my heart! I also wanted to love the relationship between Jin Yuan and Dou Dou but there was no chemistry there. I mean our leads never even kissed once and we're supposed to believe they had a baby together cause like a whole show about gang violence is okay but heaven forbid there be any kissing on screen. I wonder if I just don't like Luo Jin as an actor cause this is the third show I've seen him in and I'm still not a fan. The end of this show was bittersweet cause we lost pretty much all our main characters and I kept waiting for Jin Yuan to show up at the end cause Dou Dou was so sure he was alive but nope so I'm like is he dead or not? Why is that the cliffhanger? I'd give this show a 5 / 10 and honestly unless you really do have a lot of time on your hands, I'd say skip this show cause it was meh.
FINISHED Moonshine and Valentine/A Love Knot: His Excellency's First Love (25/25): The love story between Guan Pi Pi, an ordinary girl who has felt alone and abandoned in this world and Helan Jing Ting, a mysterious Jade Master who is part of the Fox clan; that transcends a few lifetimes.

When I first finished this show I couldn't decide if I liked the ending or not but as I thought about it more I think I actually liked how it ended full circle. It's poetic that this time Pi Pi is the one to remember Helan and that he's the one who has to fall in love with her after he spent centuries getting her to fall for him. Even now there's a clear case of falling in love at first sight though Pi Pi was much smoother at playing like she never met him before than Helan was at the start of the show. I also kind of don't mind that he's still a Fox and she's human cause now her life span has been returned to normal and his eyesight has been returned to him as well so they can continue meeting across time without having their time cut short anymore. I mean I still kind of wish there was a way to make Pi Pi a fox too but such is life I guess. I don't really understand how the amnesia thing worked though cause he forgot everything but he's still a Fox as far as I know so eventually he's going to need to come back and rule the Fox Clan but without any memories it'll be weird. I wonder if they'll come back as time goes on? Xiu Xian and Kuan Yong turned into foxes was unexpected but not so terrible cause they'll return to being human in the future as well and maybe they'll start waiting around for Xiao Ju when they return although she never did make a choice between the two so I'd like to imagine that they'll just have a three-way relationship cause it was hinted at all season. I'm still disappointed in Zhao Song's abrupt turn to evil and then abrupt turn to being good again. I'm sorry boo but after you raped Qian Hua I lost my love for you so sucks to suck and I'm just upset that Qian Hua died with him. Overall this show was fine but probs not one that I would ever want to revisit. I'd give it a 6 / 10.
The Flame's Daughter (18/52): Lie Ru Ge is the daughter of the master of Lie Huo Manor which is the most powerful Jiang Hu sect.

So I'm a little disappointed in myself for not having watching this show when it first aired back in March cause I'm so in love with this show! I have this thing against asian period dramas (especially Chinese ones) cause I don't find the long hair (pulled back or down) the men have attractive and that pulls my focus a little from a show but I'm slowly teaching myself to ignore that cause I've been on a bit of a period dramas kick. Another struggle is that period shows are usually all about politics for the throne and every synopsis I find is the exact same as the next so I can never tell which shows I'm going to enjoy or not and that's what happened with this one at first but recently I saw it pop up on my drama feed again and the synopsis had been changed (possibly cause it was done airing) and it caught my attention which I'm lucky for! I'm loving pretty much everything about this so far! Literally all the characters are fascinating and the world is fun to learn about. There's politics but I'm not drowning in it and by allowing us to get to know the characters and a bit of the world first, when the politics started happening I was actually interested and I love that it's dispersed throughout the show so it's not like 30 minutes of evil plotting like other shows I've watched. I also love the martial arts aspect of the show and watching Ru-Ge slowly become a badass. The most awkward thing about this show is that Yin Xue is supposed to be the best looking on the show but I personally think Zhang Vin who plays Zhan Feng aka Ru-Ge's ex is so so much better looking but I do love how much Yin Xue loves Ru-Ge and their chemistry has been pretty good so far. I know he died a few episodes ago but honestly I'm pretty sure he's the male lead so I think it won't be long until we see him again and I can't wait for Ru-Ge's reaction to his return!!

TWDRAMA

FINISHED Home Sweet Home (34/34): When a group of strangers end up living under the same roof, they come with their own personal baggage. Wu Xiao Li is a mother figure who rents out rooms in her house to a group of young people. Ji Yan Xi faces tremendous pressure from his family but tries his best to go after his dreams. Xiang Yi Yang is a likable, easy-going young man despite all the hardships he has faced. Wen Xin and Xiang Yi Rou are both trying to grasp the things they want most out of life. Can the group of housemates support one another through life’s many challenges and learn the true meaning of a family?

I started this show hoping for either a cute show like Age of Youth or a sweet family show like My Father is Strange but instead I found a show that started out super boring then ended up making my blood boil pretty much every episode only to turn around and make me smile with happiness. I fell in love with our main characters and wanted nothing more than all of them to be happy although surprisingly only two of the four really ended up in happy romantic relationships but that's okay cause sometimes happiness is in finding yourself!! My favorite part of this show was Yan Xi and Wen Xin's relationship almost from the start! I loved watching Wen Xin melt his heart and I loved how quickly he admitted his feelings and then was open about them cause you know I hate the cold male lead who hides his emotions! I also loved watching Wen Xin fight against her feelings cause she had some unfinished emotional baggage of an ex but couldn't help but fall for how sweet Yan Xi was. And of course the ex showed up exactly when she was almost ready to move on cause that's drama but I loved loved loved that she didn't waver back and forth between her ex and Yan Xi for episodes and quickly figured out her feelings unlike in Pride which ruined my enjoyment of the show! Their engagement did feel a bit rushed cause it took forever to get Wen Xin to say yes to date him but I loved that he started to call her baby! The stuff that made me seeth with anger was that Kelly was the worst kind of rich boss character at the start. She literally forced poor Yi Yang into being her slave after following him around for weeks just cause she liked him and then used money to tie him to her side only to be shocked when she realized how much he hated her. I despise relationships in tv shows where there is a power struggle (like boss/employee or teacher/student) cause I hate when people are forced to do things out of fear. But she was redeemed for me when she dialed back the crazy and honestly I loved that she ended up with Lucky cause they had a much better relationship from the start and he was there for her from pretty much day 1 and she relied on him so much. I really did think that she would pick Yi Yang and my heart would break but I was thrilled with what we got! Even Yi Rou's relationship grew on me even though for most of the season I was meh about her but when they broke up and he cried thinking about how he'd never see her again, my heart melted and I was a bit disappointed that they didn't get back together but I loved that her happy ending was about learning how to grow herself. I was not a fan of all the Wang household nonsense cause honestly rich people politics are so boring so that was the least interesting to me but it wrapped up nicely too. Overall I did enjoy this show and I feel like it grows on you the more you watch so I'd give it a 6 / 10!

JDRAMA

FINISHED The Confidence Man JP (10/10): Dako is a con woman. She stays at a suite in a luxury hotel and schemes to take money from vicious wealthy people like yakuza bosses and evil businessmen. She works with Boku-chan and Richard. Boku-chan is a sincere and timid young con man. Richard is a veteran con man. Dako is able to master knowledge from various professions in a short period of time and disguises herself as someone working in that field. Along with Boku-chan and Richard, they carry their plans using fantastic teamwork.

Guys what an awesome finale for a hilarious show! Even though I always know there's some sort of twist coming, I always fall for our crews' tricks! I loved the idea of the final episode being one where they're caught so to speak and how it followed a different format from the normal episodes! It might have been one of their best plans yet and that's saying something cause I still have a fond spot for their first heist! I loved that we saw the camaraderie between the three during the episode and I believe a lot of it was real even if the whole thing was planned out. I still think Dako and Boku would make a cute couple but I didn't mind that they were just subtly hinted at. This episode might have redeemed the whole show for me if I'm being honest cause the last few episodes were a little boring in my opinion. This episode brought the whole show full circle and ended on such a high note so I would love if there was a season 2 of this show! I'd give it a 9 / 10!

Top 10 Episodes of Supergirl Season 3

Supergirl Season 3 Episode 23 Review

I cannot decide if tonight's finale was really good or very strange. Maybe a little of both? The episode felt a lot like a series finale with the way it seemed to tie everything up but at the same time shake up the board completely.

Let's start with the most interesting part in my opinion and that was the Legion coming back to help. I assumed this was going to happen cause we all knew Imra and Mon El had to break up in person somehow in order for him to be with Kara but the scene we got was really weird. They kind of both were just like eh our marriage didn't really seem that great now that we look back and that was that. Like no talk of divorce or separation or an attempt to work through their problems. This whole marriage storyline was terrible from the moment it first showed up and it hasn't got any better. Brainiac 5 then told Mon El and Winn that when they killed Pestilence the Blight never killed people and one of those people that was saved was his evil distant relative (aka Brainiac or so I'm assuming) and that the future needs Mon El and Winn. I'm of two minds on this cause I love the idea of them having to fight Brainiac cause he's such a badass villain and I love that Brainiac 5 is going to be a permanent member of season 4 of Supergirl but at the same time I hate that we're losing Mon El and Winn and that no matter how cool the storyline seems for why they're leaving, we're never going to be able to see it!!!

The sendoff for Winn was so heartbreaking and I teared up alongside everyone else though it's so weird that it wasn't Kara who was the saddest to say goodbye cause the show has decided to conveniently forget that Kara and Winn were best friends in season 1. I do wonder if we'll get these characters back next season cause I know Jeremy Jordan is signed on as a recurring but that could just mean that he pops up in like two episodes. Mon El leaving is super weird cause why else did we spend a whole season showing us Mon El and Kara falling back in love and give Mon El a costume matching Kara's if he was going to leave in the end? Why not just cut ties and show us Mon El in love with Imra and Kara moving on? Weird as hell. There hasn't been any announcements about Chris Wood leaving and I do love Mon El and Kara together so I'd like to believe that he'll be back like he was this season.

Sidebar if this is the last we see of Mon El, I really really want the show to explore Brainiac 5 and Kara's relationship cause they're together in the comics and now that Brainiac 5 has a human projector thing to disguise himself, the problems I thought the CW would have are no longer there (aka the fact that the main lead can't be with a non-handsome male actor.) Part of this is definitely my bias for Jesse Rath!!

I feel like so much of this episode was supposed to be emotional but none of the characters reacted the way they should have making the emotional beats not hit. Like the fact that Reign killed Mon El, Alura and Sam before Kara went back in time (how that happened who the hell really knows) but other than J'onn being like Mon El saved me, Kara had pretty much no reaction. Girl that's your mom who literally just died in front of you. I understand if you moved on from Mon El but seriously your mom! It was a fun twist to have Kara go back in time and fix the problem though. But can we talk about how Kara was like I came in here ready to kill and that's not me only for the solution to stop Reign being to kill her? Like how Kara.

We also lost M'rynn tonight which was sad but even sadder is the fallout we get from his death in that J'onn resigns from his position as Director of the DEO to go soul searching or something and I'm sitting here like though I love the idea of Alex being Director, are we losing J'onn next season too? What in the world is up with this episode clearing house? I am looking forward to seeing Alex as Director but I really don't want to watch her be a parent next season. Ugh. Ruby was bad enough and William over on Arrow took almost half a season for me to warm up to and if I'm being honest I only ever liked him cause I liked the idea of Oliver, Felicity and William being a real family.

Speaking of Ruby and Sam both survived but I have a feeling that we probably won't see them again (please let that be true!!) Also James unmasked as Guardian (who cared) and we got more hints of evil Lena. For a second I got all excited thinking that maybe she will be the villain of season 4 but oddly enough we got what seems like a clone of Kara. Is this a World Killer Kara? Or more of a Bizzaro Supergirl? I'm not sure how to feel about this cause The Flash already tried the whole another evil version of you as the Big Bad.

This season of Supergirl was not the best for me though not anywhere as bad as season 1. I just felt like so much time was wasted but at the same time half the story was rushed. I'm also not thrilled with next season's villain cause the Supers have such a huge repertoire of villains to chose from but we keep going back to evil Kryptonians and it looks like we'll get another one next season. Why couldn't we use Brainiac here or some other sort of alien or villain??

Here's to season 4 hopefully bringing us back to the fun of season 2!

What Dramas Am I Watching This Week?

So I hope you've been enjoying this new series so far!

PS This week will be a little weird with how many episodes of shows I've watched cause of the World Cup which preempted a lot of shows.

KDRAMA

About Time (8/16): Choi Michaela is a musical actress. She has a special ability to see the lifespan clocks of other people. She meets a man who can stop her time and he falls in love with her.

Ah ha! As we all pretty much expected (cause this is a drama afterall), the time that Mika is getting isn't out of nowhere but she's basically stealing it from Do Ha. He's already lost like 40 years since we first saw his clock like a few episodes ago! This actually might be one of the only times where I feel like the noble I'm leaving you for your own good thing might actually work and make sense and I can't wait to see when it happens. We're halfway through the season and it's been fun so far. I still feel like no chemistry between the main leads but I'm over that now and I'll just believe whatever the show is telling me. Also Do Ha's family is still the goddamn worst and I feel so so so bad for Do Ha's sister in law. I hate rich families who feel so entitled that they look down on everyone and now we've learned even more terrible things they've done and if I was anyone I wouldn't be able to forgive them. Poor Do San died this week and that was really sad. I actually cried a bunch throughout episode 8. On the other hand I'm loving the awkwardness between Sung-Hee and Wi-Jin but for some reason is anyone else worried that Sung-Hee might be pregnant? Like who knows if they used protection and Wi-Jin is doing no favors to anyone by lying about them not sleeping together. I also still love Jae-Yoo's character and I live whenever he's on screen looking all adorable and shit.
Are You Human Too? (8/36): The drama tells of an android called Nam Shin III who must pretend to be the son of a rich family when the real Nam Shin falls into a coma.

This show is an interesting one for me to watch cause I can't decide if I like it or not. It's one of those shows where I'm not really excited to start watching it for the week but once it starts I don't want it to end. I think I would probs enjoy it more if I could binge it so I can fast forward through parts I don't entirely love. I am really loving Nam Shin III who's an adorable puppy and everyone on the good side but there's soooo much evil family plotting happening that I can't truly enjoy this show. I don't mind a villain now and again but when 70% of the show is them doing evil things I get a little bored. It also doesn't help that the female lead is living up to my first impression of her which is that she is kind of an asshole. Like objectively I understand where she's coming from and why she is the way she is but I can't help but be completely irritated at her for jumping to conclusion after conclusion without any real evidence cause I know who the good guys are. Like what did the real Nam Shin do to give her such an utterly awful impression of him so much so that she will do anything to take him down for money even after he saved her damn life? I'm hoping that now that she knows that Nam Shin III is a robot that everyone will explain to her what's really going on and because of that she'll mellow and I'll be able to enjoy her more. I wonder if this will mean that Nam Shin will wake up soon cause So Bong can't fall for Nam Shin III now that she knows he's a robot and without that there's no romantic storyline running throughout the show. I would love if both Nam Shin and Nam Shin III acted as one to fool the evil family when Nam Shin wakes up but I have a feeling that Nam Shin is just going to be jealous/furious that his mom created someone to replace him. I also wonder if there's a possibility in the show for Nam Shin III to become evil cause I keep getting hints of emotion from him like jealously and a bit of a complex in which he thinks he's better than humans. It would be an interesting twist but I kind of hope it isn't true cause dude we have enough villains to last a lifetime.
Come And Hug Me (16/32): A man and a woman suffers from wounded hearts due to a murder case that took place in their past.

Ugh can someone please murder the reporter already? I have never hated a character more in a drama and honestly she's even worse than all the serial killers in this show! Like at least they're insane and whatever but she's just trying to profit out of other people's misery and in fact looking to cause more misery. She really shouldn't be so comfortable and I'm afraid that she's going to bribe the old police officer into saying that Do-Jin or Jae-Yi whacked Hee-Jae (even if it's true) and make it sound worse than it is. Honestly I don't understand the world of this show cause like Jae-Yi is the victim but the way they make it sound that the people on the internet are saying is more like she shouldn't be on camera cause she was a victim. Like it was weird enough when they kept shifting the blame to Do-Jin who literally turned his own father in like how much more innocent of someone else's crimes can you be? And honestly I have the feels that Do-Jin's brother isn't actually the one out for Jae-Yi. He's insane but in a different way than his father. Like I always feel like he just wants his dad's approval more than anything (not that I feel any sympathy towards him.) We did finally get some POV from Jae-Yi and we saw that she does still love Do-Jin and she wants him around and she doesn't blame him but she knows that he blames himself and cause of that she doesn't push him into being around more often. They had the softest sweetest scene in her bedroom this week!
Handsome Guy and Jung Eum/The Undateables (14/32): Hoon-Nam knows about love theoretically, but he rejects falling in love. Jung-Eum wants to fall in love, but, due to her difficult situation, she gives up on finding love. Hoon-Nam and Jung-Eum meet and develop a relationship romantically.

I do enjoy this show for some odd reason but I'm still really annoyed with the bet situation that just like popped out of nowhere cause Hoon-Nam's cousin is the freaking worst and I can't look at him without rolling my eyes at what the exact model of a fuckboy he is. Ugh. I know that Hoon-Nam is supposed to be the playboy in this show but I just don't get that vibe from him and I can't decide if he's supposed to be one in the show or not cause I thought he was more of a knows how to play the game but doesn't care enough about woman to try to play it. Like as smooth as he thinks he is, as soon as he has the slightest feelings toward Jung-Eum, suddenly he's the most bumbling mess and I think it's adorable. I was surprised that they kissed again this week cause I was really expecting it to be later on but I definitely enjoyed it and I love that both are like completely on board with a relationship now. Also I need the second male lead to step back a smidge. Like I know you like her but boy you had decades to admit it and I feel no sympathy. I do wish we could go back to more of the matchmaking stuff cause I really enjoyed the chocolatier one we had and I'm a little dissapointed that we've seemed to steer away from that. I'm also curious as to who that girl is but I'm pretty sure that she's not going to be an ex but probs a random girl who lived with him like Jung-Eum lives with Jun-Soo.
Investigation Couple/Partners For Justice (18/32): Baek Beom has worked as a forensic doctor for 10 years. He has a bad personality, but he is excellent with his work. Baek Beom does not open his mind to other people. Eun Sol is a rookie prosecutor with a warm heart. She has a bright personality and she comes from wealth family background. The forensic doctor and prosecutor work together to solve case.

I really enjoyed episode 17 and 18 this week cause other than one time I wasn't rolling my eyes at Eun Sol. She's started to grow on me if I'm being honest but I think that's mostly cause she's so charming as a person and that her only competition as a prosecutor is Kang Hyun who is a moron in his own right. Like I get him feeling like Baek Beom got away with killing his wife (even though he clearly didn't have any evidence of that except for what he believed) but once he also shifted Baek Beom's blame to killing his older brother, I was a little turned off of him. For a moment I actually thought Eun Sol and Kang Hyun might be cute together but until Kang Hyun apologizes to Baek Beom for being so damn biased, I don't know if I can like his character all that much. I also wish the prosecutors and honestly pretty much everyone would stop showing up in front of the NFS and yell about how they're biased or not helping. Like dudes putting together what happened is not their job. They're supposed to be objective! It's also kind of funny that pretty much every case for a while now is so personal but I guess it makes sense cause a personal case is more interesting than a random death.
Lawless Lawyer (10/16): When Bong Sang-Pil was little, he lived with his mother in Gisung.

Ahh what a crazy week for Lawless Lawyer! After Dae Woong was killed last week, I was really sad and kind of annoyed cause despite the fact that he's this big gang boss, he was killed waaaay too easy and it felt like just a way for Sang Pil to get even more involved in his revenge scheme (as if he needs any more motivation.) I've also been worried for a while that what is going to tear Sang Pil and Jae Yi apart is that she's going to lose interest in the revenge when she finds out her mother is alive while he digs in deeper but after this week I have a feeling that probably won't be the case since Jae Yi has admitted she loves Sang Pil out loud for the first time along with several other really cute moments between the two. It's possible that watching too many melodramas has affected me in that I assume that there's always relationship trouble on the horizon and with this not being a melo, maybe (hopefully) there won't be any of that when there's plenty of other types of drama to go around. On the other hand, I still don't understand why Jae Yi can't recognize her own mother especially since her mom's photo is hung up in the photo studio so it's not like she could forget her face! It was also heartbreaking that all of Dae Woong's gang men automatically assumed that Sang Pil killed his uncle even though they've know Sang Pil for like at least 10 years and should know just how much he loved his only family and I had hoped after episode 9 that now that both Dae Woong's gang and Scorpion would have lined up behind Sang Pil too (cause honestly our guys need all the backup they can get) but it seems after episode 10, the number 2 guy might actually not care that much about Dae Woong's death and actually just might be pissed cause Sang Pil interrupted his own takeover scheme. Also did I or did I not call it that Mayor Ahn was going to turn on the seven cause he'd get too greedy for his own good? I can't wait to see what's next!
Miss Hammurabi (7/16): Park Cha O Reum works as a rookie judge. She is in her mid-20's and follows "an eye for an eye" principle. She does not accept prejudice or blindly follow authority. Dealing with cases, she and her colleagues, including Im Ba-Reun, grow as people.

The case and the theme for this week was about family and I actually really enjoyed it cause it's one that everyone can relate to whether you fall on Ba-Reun or Oh-Reum's side of the argument about family. We never did get a resolution to the case but since the case wasn't really about a verdict this week but teaching us a lesson I'm okay with it. Like I'm sure legally the property has to be given back and divided evenly but the lesson was that clearly the adopted son was the only one who truly loved his father and that blood is not always thicker than water. The family we chose is sometimes more important than the family we're born with. Ba-Reun was really affected by the trial this week cause he understands family drama and I wasn't a huge fan of Oh-Reum lecturing him about family cause she doesn't know anything about his home life and true it turned out that Ba-Reun didn't know all the facts when he was young but she still shouldn't have been so annoying about it. I really wish one of the these weeks Oh-Reum would actually figure out that she always looks at things only from her perspective which makes her feel holier than thou. It's my struggle with her character cause I like what she stands up for but not always the way she does. I was also glad that the awkwardness between our main couple wasn't entirely due to her rejection of him and I laughed out loud when even drunk as hell Ba-Reun was smooth as hell giving her a birthday gift.
FINISHED Suits (16/16): Choi Kang-Seok is the best lawyer at the prestigious Kang & Ham Law Firm. He is promoted to a senior partner. Go Yeon-Woo has a photographic memory and excellent comprehension skills. He dreamed of becoming a lawyer, but due to his poor background he currently works as a parking valet. To pay for his grandmother's hospital bill, he takes a job to deliver drugs to a hotel room. While in front of the hotel room, Go Yeon-Woo realizes that he is going into a trap. Go Yeon-Woo is then chased by the cops, but he gets into the secretary's office for Lawyer Choi Kang-Seok. At that time, a group of people are waiting to take interviews with Choi Kang-Seok. He is going to select a rookie lawyer for the law firm after conducting the interviews. Go Yeon-Woo is then admitted into Choi Kang-Seok's office. Choi Kang-Seok senses that Go Yeon-Woo is not the applicant they called in for the interview, but he is impressed with Go Yeon-Woo's intelligence & memory. Choi Kang-Seok decides to hire Go Yeon-Woo as a rookie lawyer even though he does not have a license to practice law. Choi Kang-Seok's decision could even place his own career in jeopardy.

What a finale amirite?? I cried so much during so much of the episode though part of that might have been cause I was tipsy while watching and suddenly everything was heartbreaking! Like I called last week Yeon-Woo was just playing double agent to get to Ham to think that he was on his side to get the truth out of him and I wasn't surprised either to find out that Ham was behind all of it from writing the memo years ago to giving it to David Kim to putting it in the Kang and Ham storage place with a forged signature on it. I was living for the bromance in these last two episodes and how Yeon-Woo and Kang-Seok were basically finishing each other's sentences when they were dragging Ham over the coals. Park Hyungsik brings this puppy quality to Yeon-Woo that it's like all he wants is for Kang-Seok to be proud of him and it's the most precious thing. I was also living for that awkward confrontation with Da Ham and how Yeon-Woo not so subtly left them alone so they could talk about their feelings even if that didn't actually happen. The final episode was so bittersweet with the death of Yeon-Woo's grandmom and him ending up in prison to atone for his mistakes but I liked that Kang-Seok became a managing partner of the firm and though I'm sure they weren't exactly pleased with him, everyone supported Yeon-Woo in the end cause he did help save the firm twice! I hardcore sobbed when Yeon-Woo was about to go to jail and was like Kang-Seok grant my last request and it was just a fist bump like how can you not love this adorable little puppy. My favorite scene though has to be when Kang-Seok visited Yeon-Woo in jail and Yeon-Woo practically said the same thing Kang-Seok said about playing cards and Kang-Seok's horrified face at the idea that they might be the same person slayed me. I like to imagine that now that Yeon-Woo is out of jail, he'll get to go to law school and pass the bar before having a spot at Choi and Kang. Overall I really enjoyed the show and the bromance really won me over. I'd give this show a 8.5 / 10!!
What's Wrong With Secretary Kim? (4/16): What's Wrong With Secretary Kim revolves around the narcissistic Lee Young Joon, the vice president of a company run by his family.

I so adore this show. I loved everything this week and I laughed so hard during so many scenes. I'm almost completely sure by now that both Young Joon and Mi So have been in love with each other for a while but never noticed it or thought that their love was just familiarity. This is one of my favorite tropes cause I love the idea that two people who know each other so well suddenly have to learn a whole new side. It's one of the reasons I fell so in love with Fight My Way! It's really sweet how Mi So knows pretty everything about him and worries for him constantly even when she doesn't have to and defends him whenever someone tries to say anything negative about him. She can basically see right through him when he's trying to bluff or act big. I do wish that he would pay a bit more attention to her and her wants but it was sweet watching him be all heart-eyes towards her and I'm sure as the season goes on, he'll slowly start to learn more and more about her. I like the reveal that the two of them were really close growing up and it seems like the kidnapping that she remembers was actually his kidnapping based on those scars on his ankles that I'm sure came from cable ties. It makes it even sweeter that she's basically the only one allowed to touch him cause I'm sure he's terrified since then of anyone touching him but that he feels safe with her. I'm very curious about Young Joon's brother cause I thought at first that maybe Young Joon did something bad to make his brother leave but based on what Young Joon said and how Sung Yeon acted this week, I think maybe that is true but the reasons are not so bad. Something about the brother is just so sketchy and I wonder if he's somehow related to the kidnapping. Also he needs to stay faaaar away from Mi So cause even from their first two scenes together he seems kind of creepy/stalkerish and the way he told Young Joon that he's more interested in Mi So now that Young Joon is making an effort to keep her away from him made me throw up a little in my mouth. It's clearly more than simple jealously cause Young Joon has never actively tried to keep her away from someone like his brother and it makes me wonder if he's somehow violent towards women... I assume we're going to go through a few episodes where she thinks he's a great guy and Young Joon is being mean but then she'll find out why Young Joon hates him and change her mind. It's going to be real silly cause even if Young Joon is a bit of a clueless narcissist sometimes, he's never cruel to people on purpose so the fact that he's so riled up is a really big deal! I wonder if the parents know cause they were working really hard to get their sons together tonight.
Wok Of Love/Greasy Melo (22/40): Set at a small Chinese restaurant.

As the episodes of this show keep going I fall more and more in love with Poong (mostly cause I love Jun-Ho) but also cause Poong is such a little cinnamon roll. I'm really enjoying this whole shrimp contest Hungry Wok is having with the hotel and I'm loving watching people realize how good Poong's cooking is although I was hoping that by taking back his recipe book the hotel chefs wouldn't be as good. The end of episode 22 was so exciting when they stole 100 people from the hotel but I have a feeling that the hotel is going to steal them back before Hungry Wok can cook for them. Honestly I was surprised that when the hotel chef came to Hungry Wok he didn't try to sabotage anything though I suppose that until this moment no one at the hotel actually believed that Poong could do anything so I expect to see a lot more drama going forward. I also hope we get more Sae-Woo and Poong cause they are adorable and everyone can see including Chil-Seong who at first I felt a little bad for but one thing I hate in dramas is when someone refuses to take no for an answer and Sae-Woo out and out told him twice that she's not interested as well as telling him that she likes Poong so for Chil-Seong to keep trying is a little creepy/stalkerish for me.

CDRAMA

DROPPED A Love So Beautiful (7/24): It starts off with high school classmates Chen Xiao and Jiang Chen who are also neighbors. Xiao Xi, a cheerful girl who doesn't study much, is expressive about her admiration towards Jiang Chen, the popular guy known for his looks and high grades. Together with their fellow classmates the funny Lu Yang, athletic but loyal Jingjing, and cool swimming team member Wu Bo Song, they embark on high school life to university until their adult life.

So I'm not sure exactly what I expected getting into this show because I didn't really think I would be that into the show based on it's description but I kept hearing raving reviews about how amazing this show was and I had just finished School 2017 which I loved and I wanted something similar so I went into this show with somewhat high hopes but I ended up being really bored and this show ended up reminding me more of Huckleberry Friends than School 2017. I did stick through 7 and a half episodes hoping that eventually the show would pick up or that something I was interested in would happen but all it did was keep me wondering what it was that attracted people to this show cause it just seemed like nothing was ever happening. The main character Chen Xiao was a bit of a moron and obsessed with Jiang Chen from the first episode and I'm really not usually a fan of girls falling in love first cause then all the female characters do is turn their life to fit what the guy wants while when the guy falls in love first he is there for her but still has his own interests. Honestly I could have dealt with her cringe better but then the show did the second thing I despise in rom coms and that was the cold male lead. I am really not a fan of male leads who are emotionless/mean to the girls into them cause then all I can think about is why the hell is she into him if he's such an ass?! In this case Jiang Chen was a little different cause he mostly just ignored the female lead (though he was into her!) and although this was better characterization than I expected, I was still confused about why the hell he hid his feelings when she made hers clear almost every episode and there was nothing really stopping them. Instead of manning up and telling her how he felt all he did was run around and secretly do things for her while being jealous any time she talked to another guy. Which leads to the third straw that broke the camel's back which was the fact that I fell in love with Bo Song the second male lead. He reminded me so much of Tae-Woon from School 2017 in that he loved Chen Xiao and supported her in pretty much everything. He was the only character I bonded with and I noticed after about 7ish episodes that I was watching it just for him and that was maybe time to drop this show cause he won't get the girl and I can't watch a show where I fall for the second lead. Sorry guys but I might be the only person in the world who disliked this show lol.
Love's Lies (41/44): A package containing methamphetamine shatters the once peaceful life of an average white collar worker named Dou Dou. The sender is Dou Dou's ex-boyfriend Jin Yuan who ran from their wedding seven years ago. Dou Dou changes course en route to the police station and decides to confront Jin Yuan.

This week's episodes were really fun. I've been feeling a little burnt out on the whole drug undercover thing but it was nice that this week our good guys have finally turned a corner and may be back on a top or at least no longer down and out. Director Liu wasn't actually arrested, Qiao Liang is in the know (FINALLY), Jin Yuan is back to being Uncle Kun's right hand man and even Dou Dou is working undercover now. It was super freaking annoying when Dou Dou straight up followed Jin Yuan to Thailand cause she has to know that she was going to be a liability and even weirder was when Jin Yuan actually told her to spy on Bang cause I was like why would he put his pregnant wife in danger like that? I do like the idea of her being in Bang's home now and having to use her acting skills (which are actually pretty good) to stay alive though Qiao Liang and the cops might know where she is now and be able to get her out. I also like that Captain Huang was outed to his daughter and that she went to warn Dou Dou almost immediately but I do wish she would have said something to someone about him being a mole though after finding out that his tricks didn't really amount to anything, I'm okay with it being on the DL for now.
Moonshine and Valentine/A Love Knot: His Excellency's First Love (24/25): The love story between Guan Pi Pi, an ordinary girl who has felt alone and abandoned in this world and Helan Jing Ting, a mysterious Jade Master who is part of the Fox clan; that transcends a few lifetimes.

We finally moved past the breaking up with you because I want to protect you trope this week and though I thought the whole thing was silly, I did really enjoy their reconciliation and those kisses were hot as hell!! Besides when Pi Pi and Helan hooked up, the scene where the trio were at the wedding planner and the planner couldn't figure out who was getting married for the life of her and the boys were in charge of the whole thing making her think that it was a gay marriage was one of my favorites. I was living! Sidebar the fact that Helan and Pi Pi hooked up while he was sick was hilarious but the wedding was beautiful. Zhao Song is getting worse and worse as the weeks go by and it's breaking my heart cause I really did love him when the show started. The most awkward thing is that if he hadn't meddled a few episodes ago, Qian Hua would have married him and Helan probably would have killed himself to save Pi Pi thus giving Zhao Song exactly what he wanted. I don't understand his plan if I'm being honest. Like what even was the point of framing them for murder if it meant nothing in the end? I was also curious as to what Helan's father's intentions were because it seemed really fishy that he was apologizing for everything especially after the big fuss he kicked up when Zhao Song and Qian Hua were "getting married" but it all amounted to nothing cause he died. I think the problem with this show was that either there weren't enough episodes for how much story the show wanted to tell or we went too slowly through plot that didn't matter which is why everything feels a little rushed now. I wonder if this show will have a sad ending with one of our two main leads dying as per this genre but I think based on that vision Helan had of his mother, maybe the curse will be broken somehow. I do wish just once that one of these mystical/magical shows would end with the human becoming a mystical creature. Like why does someone always have to die or become human or decide only to be together for a few years until the human dies?
FINISHED The Mystic Nine (48/48): During the era of the republic, the town of Changsha was guarded by nine families known as the "Old Nine Gates" (or the "Mystic Nine" Clan). They were incredibly powerful families who wield supreme power over everything in Changsha. In 1933, a mysterious train ended in Changsha station. The leader of the Nine Gates, Zhang Qi Shan who was also the army commander of Changsha station, started to investigate with Qi Tie Zui and they discovered a highly suspicious mine just outside of Changsha. In order to solve the mystery of the mine, they decided to engage the help of Er Yue Hong who was an opera singer that came from a family of archaeologists. However Er Ye was reluctant to help them as his wife Ya Tou was terminally ill. In order to procure the medicine for treating her, Fo Ye travelled to Bei Ping with Er Ye, Ba Ye and Ya Tou and they met the young mistress of the hotel Yin Xin Yue there. The five of them later returned to Changsha and discovered the how the mystery of the mine was connected to their families’ histories and the Japanese’s sinister plot against Changsha.

Usually I prefer modern day dramas to period ones (no real reason why but maybe I just haven't checked out enough period ones) but after I loved Siege in Fog so much I felt like checking out one set in another era especially after seriously disliking A Life So Beautiful and wanting something totally different (you know how that is.) Ironically the synopsis for this show really threw me off cause I expected this to be more of a mythical/magical show but it turned out to be more of an Indian Jones type of show which was an unexpected but welcome surprise. I really loved watching this show and even if there were several things I didn't love while watching it, thinking back I had a pleasant experience. I loved Qi Shan as a character and William Chan's performance in this show really won me back over to his side cause though I thought he was pretty good in Only Side By Side With You, that show really soured me on him and I was glad that this one was much more interesting. I loved his chemistry with Xin Yue and how they were so adorable cause again this was one of those relationships where she was a ball of sunshine and literally forced him into loving her. Some of my favorite moments of this show were how she utterly confused the life out of him so much so that he didn't even realize when she had wormed her way into his heart. Aside from their cute relationship, I loved Xin Yue as a character cause when she first appeared, I thought she might be one of those "feisty female characters" who are really naive but to my surprise and enjoyment she turned out to be no slouch when it came to politics, making her and Qi Shan a power couple. Some of the side characters like Ba Ye got real annoying after a while and Er Ye's obsessive love started to wear on me but I still found plenty of enjoyment in the tomb robbing aspect of the show and how even when the heroes were down, they were still leagues ahead of the villains which I loved. I was a bit disappointed in the ending cause it ended on such a sad cliffhanger but the rumors are that there will be a season 2 so I'll let it slide. I'd definitely give this show a 10 / 10! A must watch for sure cause this might be one of the uniquest concepts for a show I've seen so far although if you're in it just for the romance, you might be a bit disappointed cause most of the show is about robbing tombs with romance sprinkled throughout.

TWDRAMA

FINISHED Meet Me @ 1006 (26/26): Ke Zhen Yu is a lawyer. Suave, handsome and successful, he has never lost a case. Until now. When he loses one of his most high-profile cases, Ke Zhen Yu’s career sinks. After losing everything, the lawyer moves into a mysterious, low-budget apartment. There, he meets a new kind of roommate. Cheng Jia Le is a reporter. She lives in the same apartment as Ke Zhen Yu and meets him every day at 10:06pm. Except they don’t even live in the same realm. The two are meeting through some kind of supernatural portal, and they have no clue what to do. Ke Zhen Yu and Cheng Jia Le soon realize something is very wrong, and the only way to fix it is to work together. To do that, however, they must keep meeting at 10:06.

The final two episodes of this show aired this week and I loved every moment and I'm sad that this show is over. Lee Lego and Hsieh Nikki had amazing chemistry from the very beginning of this show whether they were fighting or in love and I'm 100% sure that so much of the reason why I loved this show was due to the two of them. Now I want to watch other dramas they were in together just to see them together again. As for the final two episodes, I loved seeing past Zhen Yu remember all the memories that future Zhen Yu had and how Jia Le literally kissed him until his feelings came back. It's weird that we never truly got a case closed on the case that we spent 26 episodes worrying about but I suppose that we're supposed to think that the evidence was plenty. The more important story for me was with Da Jun and how despite him being an entitled asshole who literally murdered a girl cause she friend-zoned him, I still cared for him (probably cause Zhen Yu loved him so much) and I loved the confrontation they had at the place Zhen Yu's dad died because it was such an emotional scene full of their love and the love of Jia Le and Zhen Yu. When the gun accidentally went off and Zhen Yu was clipped, Da Jun freaked out cause despite everything he still loved Zhen Yu. I was really glad that once Zhen Yu woke up from his coma that we didn't have to deal with any more amnesia cause we already played with that trope a few episodes ago and it worked much better there than if they had done it again. I loved the way this show ended and I'd definitely give it a 8.5 / 10!
