What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Anyway, let's dive right in shall we?

Welcome To Demon School Iruma-Kun Episode 8

While I thought Clara was adorable when we first met her back in like episode 3 as time went on her brand of air-headed behavior became more annoying than anything else so when I realized this episode would focus on her, at first I wasn't thrilled. As the episode went on, I found myself really enjoying her though and I wonder if it's just that I wish she had more to do than just say silly things in the background. I still live for how she's always climbing Sabro and he's like so chill about it but I was also happy that the fallout from Iruma hanging out with Amelie continued this week cause like I said last week I had been hoping for more jealously or something from Clara and Azz and this episode gave it to me. Clara decided that she had to seduce Iruma in order to keep him from leaving them and it was everything watching her try to follow the steps of seduction only to confuse Iruma completely and actually make things worse. I was dying when she received a lower sexy scale than a baby but in the end it looks like maybe Iruma likes her just the way she is. I wondered if there will be any romance in this anime and at first I thought maybe it would be with Amelie cause of how much Iruma blushed around her but I think if there is romance it'll be with Clara at this point cause Iruma's heart skipped a beat when she told him one day he would fall in love with her and based on how that's a huge sign of a future romance, I think we've found out main couple. Iruma also decided he's going to move up a rank cause he doesn't have a dream yet and I can't wait cause this is defs step one of becoming Demon King!

Special 7: Special Crime Investigation Unit Episode 8

This was a bit of a standalone episode in that it didn't move the overarching plot forward until the very end. Bellemer got kidnapped and at first I thought maybe it was Nine only to find out that it actually had more to do with a different case where people were kidnapping homunculi so that they could cut out their hearts and sell them on the black market since supposedly people believe that eating a homunculus heart will give them youth. It was an interesting case cause we did get to focus on Bellemer a little but I still don't understand the drone thing that the boss flies around in cause you would think that easier than Bellemer having to figure out a way to email information to Special 7 would have been for the boss to leave the drone for long enough to relay information. But then again I have no idea how it works so maybe he couldn't leave the drone like that? Also Seiji really is that dumbass who runs from one situation to another without any thought of how or what. When he was sprinting around asking random people about whether they saw anything I had to roll my eyes so hard. Ichinose was right in saying that rushing into things blindly doesn't help cause it'll just tire you out before you even get anywhere. As for the overarching plot story, Seiji finally mentioned that Nijou's brother is the man who saved him though he doesn't know who he is but Ichinose will definitely put two and two together. I'm still waiting on whether or not there's a deeper connection between the two cause you can't tell me that the animators for this show just accidentally drew two characters to look alike!

Stand My Heroes: Piece Of Truth Episode 8

Okay so was anyone else really confused with how this episode started? I hardcore wondered if somehow I had missed an episode or a post credits scene last week or something cause it went from Rei and Miyase looking at some secret files to Rei suddenly meeting Miyase at a cafe and mentioning that she wants to work with him. We never really saw what was in those files but I'm assuming based on what we learned later that it might have been the formula for Square aka the drug that Omori was making before it became Plus and ended up on the streets. They also found evidence that the man who died in the Anonymous Case was a Omori employee but though Rei decided that this was the perfect amount of evidence to link Kujo to the Anonymous Case, I can't really see how it connects just yet. At the very least we're back to thinking that Kujo isn't a good guy despite Miyase adoring him. The more interesting piece of the puzzle is still what STAND is and whether or not they're bad guys too. I know for sure they're investigating the Anonymous Case again and that's why they made Rei scout the men she did but at the same time when Rei and her boss tried to get the case they had against Kujo to the higher ups, they kept being turned away making me wonder if we're back to the same point in the past when Plus and the Anonymous Case were covered up by the higher ups to save face or if STAND and the higher ups have some larger goal that Rei and the narcotics division is messing up by investigating.

The Flash Season 6 Episode 7

Honestly guys I didn't like this episode and I don't know what to say beyond the usual (blah blah Barry's not going to die permanently blah blah Crisis buildup should stick to Arrow) and I don't wanna be a broken record at this point so let's move on I suppose. It's interesting that this week's episode and next week's are considered to be taking place over two days but it also low key sucks cause Barry is going to be struggling hard right up to and through Crisis. It's also super strange that both Arrow and Flash did dream/alternate reality type episodes this week and I wonder if that was on purpose or if it was an accident. I think my main struggle with this episode was that I don't particularly like Barry as a character so watching him struggle with deciding whether to take Ramsay's deal and save himself didn't connect with me. All I could think was that Barry was being selfish and that Oliver when given the same choice picked the world over and over (without all the whining) even in the face of his actual family compared to Barry's possible future family and that it's annoying that the Flash is considered to be more of the hero than the Green Arrow. In the end Barry chose himself as per usual (hello Flashpoint and Nora moving Crisis up cause Barry couldn't see the big picture) though it did lead to a cool reveal and what should be an awesome episode next week. I also love that Iris is finally being given something to do but it was so weird when Allegra tried to convince Iris to write that article about how Barry dies and it's like first of all Allegra why aren't you asking why or how Iris knows the Flash is going to die in two days and secondly it's like I don't know if you have the right to convince a wife to write what basically amounts to an obituary. Having said that I do love the idea of the Iris, Allegra, and Kamilla having a story to follow on their own and I wonder if that secret agency will end up being the villain of the second half of the season.

Next week is the final episode before Crisis and it looks like we're going to be playing with a zombie/deadly infection type of episode which are always fun. I wonder if we'll actually defeat Ramsay next week cause I did hear that he was only the villain for the first half of the season.

Arrow Season 8 Episode 6

You know at first glance I wanted to say that I didn't love this episode and that it felt a bit too close to filler for my taste but as the episode went on, I realized that this was actually a truly lovely episode and I really liked what I was watching! It feels like the Flash does these deeply emotional episodes all the time which is why they tend to feel the same after a while but Arrow usually focuses on the action so when it slows itself down to let us really sit in our feels, it impacts me more. I mean I can't tell you how much I cried watching Quentin and Laurel be together one last time and just like Laurel I couldn't bare to watch him die over and over. I still don't know whether the Monitor is a good person or not but it seems like his role in putting Oliver and Laurel in these time loops was to force them to accept that some things just happen no matter how hard you fight them but at the same time he helped them fix their biggest regrets making me wonder if that was just a side effect of what he was doing or if he was hoping that by doing so and accepting his truth that they would be more pliable for Crisis. I don't love the idea that in order for Oliver to move forward he had to give in cause it reminded me too much of every other Arrow villain who tried to force Oliver to be someone he's not. It is interesting though that both Barry and Oliver keep being told over and over that their death is the only way to save the world and that they need to embrace it and it's funny pairing this episode with Flash cause it just highlights why I think Oliver is a better hero than Barry but the thing that truly works is that I can completely see Oliver dying in Crisis no matter how much I don't want it to be true. I also think it's a little strange that this is all it took for Oliver and Laurel to basically accept that the Monitor and Lyla are good people but you know at this point I'll take it cause I know the Anti-Monitor is coming and we have no more time.

Next week we're on Lian Yu which is the last page of Oliver's past and I was waiting for it though I'm not sure what the mission could be. Do we suppose we'll see Slade next week?

Assassin's Pride Episode 8

Secrets are slowly starting to come out and not just Kufa's though most of me is more interested in the fact that Melida knows about Kufa than the secret about Marquis Blossom coming out. I mean we all kind of guessed that he was a bit sketch cause the fact that so many people were dying in this town was a red flag but it looks like he might be a vampire too or if not a vampire then some sort of lycanthrope. He has been killing villagers and then running experiments on them to become lycanthropes and hiding it by pretending like there's some sort of disease running rampant as I guessed last week (the sketchy disease part not the lycanthrope part!) It also looks like Rosetti was one too and that it was actually she who was turned into a vampire 7 years ago only to go on a rampage but it also feels like somehow Blossom was able to remove that memory from her mind cause I think becoming a vampire was new to her and unlike Kufa, she was ruled by her thirst rather than her brain. She was the one killing since the Academy but it leaves me to wonder whether Kufa knew it or not and where in the world he vanished to all episode. As I mentioned up top, in order to protect Melida he had to turn into a vampire which obviously shocked Melida though I have a feeling that she won't really mind it too much. I'm still curious about whether him being a vampire effects his mana in anyway and whether that will affect Melida in turn.

The Mandalorian Season 1 Episode 4

Baby Yoda is slowly going to kill me with his cuteness because as we learned this week, he is a boy. I wonder if Mando will ever name him cause there's only so long we can call him Baby Yoda but then again Mando doesn't exactly have a name either so maybe names aren't that important in Mandalorian culture which tbh feels like a lie since in Rebels Sabine had a name and like in the Star Wars movies Bobba Fett and Jango Fett had names. Maybe it's cause Mando was a foundling so he doesn't use his name as it's not a Mandalorian one? It's not like he could have forgotten it! All this having been said and done probs doesn't matter that much but it's just a curiosity I have. I do think it's so weird though that everyone in this show keeps poking fun at Mando's helmet and how he doesn't take it off cause like you would think in this Star Wars universe that people would be more open and used to other cultures but instead everyone is acting like he'd be more free if he took it off. Like damn people mind your own business! I did love the world we visited this week and not only just cause I was so happy watching Baby Yoda live his best life. I wanted to be those little village kids feeding Baby Yoda! I also kind of liked the hints of romance between Mando and the village mom though I can imagine that other people might think it was too fast but in my opinion Mando feels like he's always looking for a home being that he's a foundling so I could see why he'd get attached to this world. I also really liked the new bounty hunter we met and I hope she comes back cause I was totally expecting her to join Mando and Baby Yoda on our journey! I still don't entirely know what the trajectory of this show is planning on being but I'm enjoying the week to week episodes so maybe it truly doesn't matter.

FINISHED Titans Season 2 Episode 13

The finale for season 2 of Titans has just aired and overall it was a fun time. I didn't love where some of our characters ended up and I do have to admit that I think I enjoyed the beginning of this season more than the end because of out-of-character writing choices that required the plot to go from point A to B but as a whole this season wasn't half bad and it was still miles ahead of season 1. I wasn't actually surprised that we managed to defeat both Slade and Cadmus in this episode but I was surprised to see that Slade was killed though if I think about it makes sense. I also do think it sucks that Jericho ended up in Rose and I'm over here like why can't we create a new Jericho body either from Rachel's powers or with Bruce's help cause obviously cloning is a thing in this world. I still feel like the Titans were too chill about Gar and Connor being mind controlled but as I expected it was Rachel who cleared the Cadmus programming and I can't tell you how thankful I was that Gar at least got five seconds of screen time to mourn what he had done cause he always gets the rough end of the stick! Donna's death came out completely nowhere cause like first of all I didn't understand why Connor didn't go and stop the pole from falling and then secondly it was just so random to kill off a main character like that. She didn't go out from Slade or Cadmus but electricity! I do wonder if she'll be back next season though cause Rachel went with her and that's weird unless she comes back to life. I also wonder if Jason will be back next season cause he came for Donna's funeral but like didn't stay and if I had to choose honestly I'd want him over Rose any day.

There is a season 3 for Titans that's been confirmed to air though we'll probs have to wait at least 6 months or longer for it. Based on the button at the end of the episode, it looks like our next villain will be Blackfire but it totally sucks that she came to Earth rather than us going to Tamaran!

Harley Quinn Season 1 Episode 1

So the first episode of Harley Quinn is out and it was such a blast to watch! I was a bit worried going into this show cause I wasn't a huge fan of Kaley Cuoco's version of Harley cause the voice acting didn't seem over-the-top enough for Harley but having watched the first episode, I think she'll grow on me even if I still do think that Kaley's Harley is too close to Harleen! The humor in this show is everything though cause it's the perfect mix of situational humor and funny dialogue and I'm all about it. One of my favorite moments was when Harley was killing all those prison guards while having a conversation with Poison Ivy about whether or not Joker loves her and whether she should leave him. Speaking of, Ivy is amazing in this show and I love her dynamic with Harley and how she's this exasperated best friend cause man oh man can I relate to her trying to talk a girl into leaving her terrible boyfriend! I also really love the idea that this show is going to be about Harley learning to be a villain on her own and I really hope there's an episode somewhere in this season where she tries to find an arch-nemesis cause you totally have to! The jokes practically write themselves! As a sidebar, the blood and gore was totally unexpected but oddly enough it adds to the whole humor of this show.

What Dramas Am I Watching This Week?

So here's what I'm watching this week! It's going to be very light cause if you don't know, I'm American and this week fell on Thanksgiving so I wasn't really able to do a lot of leisurely tv watching. Of course the list is still split by country and the amount of episodes I've seen so far are written below! There will be spoilers from now on so if you aren't caught to the episode number on list, you might want to go watch that episode and then come back! If you're interested in previous lists, click here and if you want to see a list of my favorite asian OTPs and ships, click here!

KDRAMA

Leverage (12/16): "Leverage" will tell the story of Lee Tae Joon, an elite insurance investigator turned scam strategist who recruits the best "players" in order to catch the real criminals who think they’re above the law.

It's honestly so sad that we only have two more weeks of this beautiful show to go cause I'm enjoying it so much and it definitely makes up for Player and how I didn't enjoy that one as much as I should have! We're officially on what is probs going to be our last case but in this case there will be multiple smaller cases or so I believe since Tae Joon is gunning for Joon Hyung after finding out what an ass he is. It's also a very good thing that Tae Joon isn't much more than the leader in terms of the team cause now that he's being surveilled almost 24/7, he can't be on site anymore but it's leading to a bunch of truly wonderful moments where he's outsmarting his tails by looking innocent in public while also being totally in the know. I also really want to applaud both Tae Joon and the writers of this show for doing the one thing that I'm always screaming at shows to do and that's not let the villain know when the hero figures out he's the villain! Like instead of going to Joon Hyung and attacking him, Tae Joon played innocent and pretended like he didn't know a thing and that's what's going to give Tae Joon the edge! I'm also super into this new case with the gold bars cause I do love every time the crew acts as different characters but I also want to give a shoutout to my little shipper heart that loved the moment when Roy was so worried about Na Byeol being okay after she fought those three thugs.
FINISHED Vagabond (16/16): Cha Dal Gun becomes an awakened tiger in the face of his nephew’s death in a mysterious plane crash. As an orphan himself, he had raised his nephew singlehandedly in place of his brother who had passed on. Triggered by the large-scale cover-up of the incident, he sets off on a journey to discover the truth. Go Hae Ri is the eldest daughter of a marine who had died during an operation. She has always wanted to be a normal civil servant to support her family, but life had other plans and she ends up as a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent. Their lives intertwine as they discover a tangled web of corruption behind the plane crash.

I have a special place in my heart that's full of hatred and spite for these Netflix kdramas that don't finish telling their story in one season and Vagabond just joined that list with Arthdal Chronicles. Like it would be one thing if we knew going in that the show wasn't going to finish it's story in one season like American shows but the fact that most kdramas end their seasons in one makes me so mad when shows don't do that. I mean I've seriously sat through 16 episodes of this just for the story to end at what feels like the halfway point?? As I guessed Edward turned out to be Samael and the one behind literally everything from the start. Everyone who we followed and hunted this season were all just victims who took advantage of the fallout from Edward's first move. Having complained enough I do have to admit that I love the idea of what the possible second season could be. Lily, the North Korean mercenary and Dal Gun all working together to infiltrate and take down Edward through Black Sun while Hae Ri joined Jessica and they're on a separate hunt is everything to me. I love how even when Hae Ri and Dal Gun hit rock bottom, they're still moving along the same path. Neither will judge the other for the choices they made to take down Edward when they meet again cause the other did the same. Both started as these soft humans and ended stone cold. It's always a favorite trope of mine when the hero joins hands with villains in order to catch a bigger villain and that's exactly what the future of this story holds. Overall I'd give this show a 8 / 10.

CDRAMA

FINISHED Dive (30/30): A story that revolves around a diving team in the brink of disbandment. Coach Yu Feng grooms four athletes to represent the school and turn the tide for the diving team. He finds Jiang Bai Long, a former star of tomorrow in the diving world, Wei Te, an exchange student from Thailand, the newly-enrolled star athlete Lu Hao Ran and his partner Tian Lin.

Oddly enough I didn't realize that this week was going to air the last chunk of episodes for this show and after experiencing all 30 episodes I have to say that this show was as meh as I expected it to be. I wish I knew why I can't connect to cdramas like the way I connect to kdramas but I feel like it's definitely a writing problem cause cdramas especially modern cdramas tend to have no consequences to their stories. If in one episode a character betrays another, in the next all will be forgiven and forgotten and it drives me mad cause I want to connect to my characters and feel like oh no how will this problem be fixed only for it to be brushed under the rug and ignored the next minute leading me to detach from the show. I do wish that there had been more diving in the final few episodes but instead we spent time on Bailong and Mi Nan's relationship and the suddenly Bailong's eye injury which like is a perfect example of things that happen but don't actually matter. I mean did literally anyone think that Bailong would loose his eyesight forever or not be able to dive in the finals? It does suck that we pulled away from the competition without really knowing who won or lost but I'm assuming it was our team cause Haoran got injured which if you compare to Bailong and Weite's perfect scored dive, I'm sure we came in first. I did end up enjoying the Weite and Caiyi stuff as per usual but I didn't understand why Weite rejected Caiyi when it was clear that he liked her though in the end it worked out. I'd give this drama a 5.5 / 10 tbh cause looking back overall this isn't a drama that I'll go back and watch.

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Anyway, let's dive right in shall we?

Welcome To Demon School Iruma-Kun Episode 7

Omg Ameri might be my favorite character in this show after this week! I adore her so much and she's so relatable and amazing! I love that she's so obsessed with those terribly written mangas and that she's forced Iruma into reading them to her while taking everything it says as fact. My favorite moment might have been when she was trying to summon Iruma after school and she attempted to go all girly with it like the manga female lead only to be shamed into deleting the text immediately. Up there with favorite moments also had to be when Iruma and Ameri met and they were basically having two separate conversations where Ameri thought that Iruma was trying to seduce her and Iruma thought that Ameri was pissed at him! I wonder if she'll end up being the one to get Iruma to want to stay in the Netherworld (inadvertently of course) after asking him to come up with an ambition that he'll want to chase. I mean we all know that he will become Demon King but I'm curious how he'll do that in the show. Azz and Clara were everything too cause of how completely jealous they got at the idea that Iruma doesn't want to spend time with them anymore but I low key was stunned that Azz saw Iruma and Ameri and decided that Iruma was trying to win the Student Council over to be the leader of the school cause that's defs going to happen by accident though I wish that Azz had thought that Iruma was replacing them cause that would have been funnier! As a sidebar I didn't realize this show had 24 episodes until this week so here I was thinking that we're a little past halfway when in actuality we're not halfway through yet and I'm living cause the more episodes this show has the better!!!!

Special 7: Special Crime Investigation Unit Episode 7

Ah so it was Nijou's brother Luka who saved Seiji all those years ago in that airport terrorist attack. I had a feeling but I wasn't entirely sure though this week now that we've gotten a better prolonged look at Luka, I couldn't help but notice that Seiji and Luka look alike which honestly feels like a random coincidence rather than a hint. Despite that I do think that Nijou and Luka might not be blood siblings though which of the two were adopted isn't entirely known yet cause Nijou was in fact an elf when he was a child but Luka is clearly human so maybe Luka was Seiji's older brother but was lost as a child or abandoned and got adopted by Nijou's family. We also saw that the reason Luka's the right hand man of Nine and didn't recognize Nijou last week was due to him being mind-controlled as I guessed (cause Luka's eyes were just so blank every time we saw him). The leader of Nine found him dying and gave him dragon blood in order to control him and for a second I did wonder if that's what Nijou found out this week but he mentioned that the info he received would lead to the death of Special 7 and I don't know how that fits tbh. If I had to guess I'd say maybe it has more to do with Seiji and whatever's going on with him cause the Boss all but confirmed to Ichinose that he knows what's up with Seiji. Both he and Nijou's informant made allusions to Seiji and Nijou needing to choose a path whether that's good or evil, making me feel like they're connected more than they know.

Stand My Heroes: Piece Of Truth Episode 7

I watched this episode after watching Babylon so I think that's the reason why I was so anxious for Rei not only meeting Kujo at the house despite having Aoyama by her side but also for when she had to stay in the house alone the next day. I mean seriously brain this show isn't the type to hurt or kill Rei so why was I so worried?? I have a feeling that next week when everything is revealed that everything we know will be turned on it's head. Until the very last scene of this episode I thought Kujo was exactly who we thought he was. Cold, calculating, possibly evil. His men are so oddly protective of him that it felt closer to a mafia than a pharmaceutical company. I kept waiting for Rei to be like dudes I don't care what kind of person Kujo is or why you want me to think well of him cause straight up I'm just here for my job where I was told by a higher up to scout Kujo which is almost exactly what Aoyama said at the top of the episode and I loved him even more for it. Like of course Rei and Aoyama and the narcotics division have an ulterior motive but it's like we know that but they don't so use that! Having said that I feel like whatever info Miyase is about to share will probably show us that Kujo is actually on the same side as Rei and company but I don't know if I'll love that cause then the show is getting rid of our only villain for some faceless random new target unless the higher ups at STAND end up being the bad guys.

Batwoman Season 1 Episode 7

I enjoyed this week's episode of Batwoman a lot more than I expected since the promos for last week were so Sophie heavy and straight up at this point I'm wondering if anyone watching this show likes Sophie. Like on one level I totally feel for her and I understand her fear to be outed and how growing up in the home that she did internalized her homophobia but the reasons I dislike her are so much more than just the fact that she's hiding who she is from the world. She's spent the last 6 episodes hovering around Kate even though she's the one who's married and like it makes me feel so bad for poor Tyler who had no idea about this huge part of Sophie's life and for Kate who's hopes clearly keep rising every time Sophie does something. I hate that she's so gung-ho about telling Jacob about Kate being Batwoman cause dude after everything she should know how outing someone isn't right! I hate that she has this holier than thou attitude about everything and I can't believe she lied to Tyler like that at the end and his face made me wonder if he knows the truth as well. On another note, we met Julia Pennyworth this week and I love her to pieces already! Can she please stay?? I already saw so much more chemistry between Kate and Julia in two seconds than anything with Sophie and I knew almost from the moment she appeared that we'd be doing the swap costume thing like Oliver did in season 1 of Arrow when he sent Diggle out in the suit while being publicly Oliver Queen. It does make me wonder where Alfred is cause we know that Lucius is dead but is Alfred with Bruce? I'm also still waiting to hear where Jim Gordon is as well and if there's a Barbara Gordon in this world. I love that Kate and Mary are working together and dudes we were so close to Mary finding out about Batwoman! I also liked the reveal that Mouse had been pretending to be Jacob all along cause I hated the idea that he and Catherine were reconciling and it makes me all the more curious as to what Alice's plan is.

No Batwoman next week but the promo for the episode we'll be getting in two weeks looks amazing! Jacob and Alice will finally get the confrontation we've been waiting for now that Jacob knows who Alice is and I can't wait!

The Flash Season 6 Episode 6

As I expected after checking out the promo for this episode 2 weeks ago, I super enjoyed this episode of The Flash! I haven't made it much of a secret if you've been following me for a while that Barry Allen isn't exactly my favorite member of Team Flash so whenever an episode focuses on one of the supporting characters, I'm always super down. Ralph has definitely become my favorite character during these past two seasons so I was really excited to check this out especially since it was a James Bond themed one. Smart diabolic Ralph was everything and I was living for not only how good he looked in his tux but also how well he was able to blend into the surroundings. It was Barry as per usual who couldn't pretend to be anything he wasn't and ruined the operation bringing me back to my point that honestly Team Flash would probs do better without Barry anyway. Like he's always been low key selfish but seriously just cause he doesn't care about Sue the way Ralph does doesn't mean that Ralph's case is pointless. I loved the big fight scene though and how it felt like an old-timey fight scene from an old spy movie and I was living for Grant acting like drunk Barry cause whenever Grant gets to do something different, he shines. Now a show of hands, how many of us think that the random woman that we met and spent a lot of time on including during the big climatic fight might just be Sue? I also really loved the stuff with Nash and I'm really curious about what's going on with Allegra and him cause it definitely looked like Nash had something to say at the end. Does he know one of her doppelgängers? The Cecile stuff was meh though but I liked the conclusion being that she was afraid of the future but decided to jump in anyway. Also I want to give a quick shoutout to Danielle Panabaker who directed this episode cause it might just be my favorite of the season so far!

I'm not entirely sure what the promo showed us but Crisis On Infinite Earths is in three weeks so the next two will be filled up with what looks like a two-parter in which Barry once again confronts the idea of him dying. I'm honestly over this whole thing cause everyone and their mother knows that Barry freaking Allen isn't going to die permanently cause The Flash still has half a season to go. I'm still low key waiting for Wally to come back too.

Arrow Season 8 Episode 5

What a damn fun episode of Arrow this was! I feel like I say that every week but it's the truth! I love that every week we're paying homage to a previous season of Arrow and that we get to see old faces one last time. I was so excited to be in Russia this week cause it meant Anatoly and bam here he was! I couldn't entirely remember what the last time Oliver and Anatoly went through cause I do remember Anatoly joining Diaz only to turn at the last minute and then he popped up last season I think to give Felicity a gun but I suppose they must have reconciled cause Anatoly was definitely happy to see Oliver this week. I am in love with adult William and adult Mia being here cause I just love watching them interact with Oliver and I will never get over the starry eyed gaze Mia looks at Oliver with cause he's a complete badass so of course she'd be proud to be his daughter. It's so complicated cause on the one hand she's still furious about him abandoning her but on the other it's hard not to look at Oliver and see the legend that he is. It's definitely giving Kat much more to act with and I'm starting to see something in Mia that I love instead of being meh about her. The whole fight club thing was great but I loved Mia's fight in the Bratva basement too and how she low key gave Laurel the pep talk she needed despite not actually knowing what Laurel was struggling with cause she is her parents' daughter after all. It was great seeing Roy again cause I'll never not want him around but the whole thing with Diggle and Roy was mostly meh except for the outcome where Roy is going to be sticking around which is pretty awesome. As the weeks go by I'm more and more sure that the show is going to end with a new better future cause we're changing things all the time in the present.

I'm not sure what the promo for next week is showing me but it looks like another reality warping kind of episode which I'm not sure if I love cause we already did multiple different reality episodes one of which was in this season already. Having said that we're getting Quentin back so yay!!!

Riverdale Season 4 Episode 7

I loved this episode and mainly cause Betty and Jughead were finally back on screen together which is always a highlight cause of course they're my favorite characters and favorite couple! I was super excited to see the two sleuth together and it was funny cause until the end of the episode I didn't realize but Betty seemed to be just as interested in the mystery of Stonewall Prep as Jughead was. Part of this was cause it seemed like Jughead was taking the lead on the case and he was the one coming up with theories and conspiracies while Betty seemed to just be happy sleeping with Jughead but they're just both so perfect for each other cause after all this Betty is all in on this mystery too based on her murder board. I wonder if this means that Betty's main mystery this season will be the same as Jughead's too? Do we think that Charles will somehow be connected? Also I still 100% believe that Donna and Brett are lying about Chippin like Betty thought cause the whole school is full of sociopaths! I'm really not into this community Archie thing so it sucks but I tend to tune out whenever he's on screen but it was sweet that he ended up dedicating the center to his dad. It's also interesting cause it looks like Dodger is officially out of the picture so what's next for Archie taking care of the community? Will he move on to a different story? Cheryl and Toni meanwhile are still living with Jason's corpse like it's completely normal and now they're murdering people and that's still considered normal. Remember when Alice killed that dude and Betty had a meltdown for a full episode? Yeah apparently not so much anymore cause instead Cheryl and Toni are annoyed they can't dump a body which I totally expected to have not worked out. Also Hiram is Mayor now and it looks like FP wants to rejoin the Serpents which is completely hilarious cause Alice was like why can't you be both a Serpent and a Sheriff and I was like I'm pretty sure there are laws against that but maybe not in Riverdale cause FP seems to be the only cop in the city.

No Riverdale next week but the promo for the episode we'll get two weeks from now looks interesting though I'm not sure what it's showing us other than all the kids going to therapy which tbh should have happened a long time ago.

Assassin's Pride Episode 7

The episode this week had a weird tone to it cause I think we're setting up for the final stretch in which secrets come out. Kufa is a vampire but we don't know how long he's been one for and from what it sounds like maybe he was turned into one seven or eight years ago when that attack on Rosetti's hometown happened which is why he might have slaughtered a bunch of people in the village. It also looks like Melida might be seeing his past memories or something in small flashes since she keeps hearing weird noises and seeing odd nightmares. Like I've said before the show never told us what it means to share mana and it's possible that part of that process is seeing strong memories too. It'd definitely fit in with the theme of the episode being that Melida is sad that Kufa never tells her anything and the thing is we the audience know just how much he's lying to her from who he is all the way to who she is. I also wonder if Kufa's sire is still in the town and that maybe he's the one who keeps attacking people causing them to become monsters instead of there being some sort of disease outbreak like Blossom mentioned. Also do we know if this town is existing outside of the chandelier the rest of humanity lives in cause it definitely looked different and there didn't seem to be a glass tube around the town from what I could see and if that's true then it would make sense that lycanthropes are running around. As a sidebar does Kufa drink blood? I mean we learned that he was a vampire a while back but it wasn't until he touched Melida's neck this week that I was like wait does he drink blood? Was that why he attacked that schoolgirl? If not does he have some sort of brother or something with a similar mana that did the attack on the town and the schoolgirl?

The Mandalorian Season 1 Episode 3

All I could think of this week was how hilarious it is to me that all these Star Wars fans were going on and on about how this show was going to be for the real fans and that it was going to be dark and serious and grr but instead we got Singledad!Mando and his wild adventures in babysitting a force baby. It's everything but I'm still so confused about where this season is going to go. I mean there doesn't feel like any sort of overarching plot other than maybe the remnants of the Empire wanting to hunt down baby Yoda? Like Mando pretty much destroyed any relationship he could have with his guild and the hidden Mandalorian colony is on the move but like we can't have a full season of him just battling bounty hunters. What even is a tracking fob and can you disable whatever tracking chip it's connected to? Maybe Mando will head to the New Republic like his guild leader recommended and be like yo what's left of the Empire wants this child and I need to protect it so help? I mean logistically he can't cause Leia is probs running it and the second baby Yoda shows up, Luke will be all over that, but obviously we can't have them appear in this show cause they're no longer in their 20s and 30s so if he does go to the New Republic we'll have to dance around them. Tbh though I really wouldn't mind if the show recast them but since this show is connected to canon, I can't imagine how they would do that with the original cast appearing in the sequel trilogy. It is interesting to note that I don't think Mando was actually born as a Mandalorian cause neither he nor his parents wore the Mandalorian helmets that we know that no true Mandalorian ever takes off which fascinates me cause then does that mean that the Mandalorians open to all races as long as you accept their teachings?

Titans Season 2 Episode 12

I have multiple thoughts about this episode of Titans, the first of which has to do with whether or not anything the Titans do will have real consequences. I mean Dick escaped from prison and half of Nevada is searching for him, Hank gave the suit to some rando who robbed a laundromat and now poor baby Gar is literally out there murdering people on Cadmus's control and I'm sitting here like so are they just going to be fugitives from now on? How will the public trust the Titans again after all this? Are we just going to wipe the slate clean and be like everyone forgets everything? Last season the Titans were being hunted by the FBI and this season it's like no one cares. On another note Slade is totally messed up! At first we thought that it was revenge and that he decided to do it once he saw the Titans back together at the top of the season but now we find out that he had been planning this for 3 years and he's trying to be all righteous about it like the Titans are psychopaths that killed my son when in actuality he knows the truth but is manipulating everyone anyway. I don't really understand how Dick can get Jericho out of Slade but however he does it I hope he returns to his original body cause I really like that actor. I also liked that Rose came out with the truth rather than have Slade show up at their door and out her or something and like I totally understand Jason's anger with her but I still don't understand his motives for leaving the Titans and I'm low key pissed that he didn't want to go back to the Titans after he left and that Bruce didn't go to him either. I don't think Rose is going to rejoin Slade after all this tbh but she'll probs pretend for a bit until she can help the Titans. Hank's whole story was so heartbreaking cause it sucks that he backslid almost immediately into drugs as soon as he left Dawn but I'm hoping that he'll pick himself back up after realizing how hard he hit rock bottom. Also I need the Titans to save Gar like yesterday cause the poor baby!!!

The finale for this season is next week (which feels like it came out of nowhere tbh) and it looks like based on the still image and synopsis for next week that it'll be the Titans last confrontation with Slade. I'm assuming that they'll save Gar first and Rachel will probs clean him of his mind control before Slade attacks and they save Jericho.

What Dramas Am I Watching This Week?

So here's what I'm watching this week! Of course the list is split by country and the amount of episodes I've seen so far are written below! There will be spoilers from now on so if you aren't caught to the episode number on list, you might want to go watch that episode and then come back! If you're interested in previous lists, click here and if you want to see a list of my favorite asian OTPs and ships, click here!

KDRAMA

FINISHED 38 Task Force (16/16): A special task force will mix cops and criminals in order to catch bad guys, but this time the good-bad guys will be con artists who use their skills of fraud and deception in order to help catch tax evaders.

So if you remember back a while ago I attempted to watch this drama but ended up dropping it after like 4 episodes cause there was so much I disliked but since it was pretty early on in terms of my kdrama watching adventure I had less patience for things that I mostly just tune out now. I was really missing out on a con artist drama while Leverage was off air last week so I thought why not go back and retry this one especially since all the reviews I've read for it said it was so good. Having seen the whole show now I still don't love it as much as other con artist shows I've watched but it wasn't half bad either. I do have to admit that I still didn't love how much screen time was devoted to Song Il cause I was watching this for Jung Do cause at first he was too bumbly for my taste but then he ended up leading cons instead of Jung Do and that was weird af. I did love the whole squad and the feeling of being a team but I also low key loved every time Jung Do played them cause he was the ultimate badass. I really liked that we spent a few episodes dealing with each bad guy before moving onto the next cause it gave us a feeling of triumph rather than wallowing in struggles like other investigation dramas. I didn't love Sung Hee's character though pretty much from start to finish and I was really just glad that there was no overt romance between her and Jung Do cause I low key shipped him with Mi Joo the whole time. I really enjoyed how the drama ended overall but I do think that Choi got the least amount of punishment for being the biggest Big Bad of the group and it super sucked that Jung Do had to go to prison all over again! Overall I'd give this show a 8.5 / 10.
Catch The Ghost (10/16): "Catch the Ghost” is a romantic investigative drama about a woman named Yoo Ryung who solves cases with her overflowing sense of justice and exceptional spatial perception but always gets herself into trouble because of her rash actions. She meets the Wangsimni station constabulary chief, a man who avoids cases and seeks stability. However, he always ends up cleaning up after the problems caused by Yoo Ryung and holds the key to solving the cases.

Ji Seok finally found out the truth about Ryung both sneaking into the tunnels and also about her losing her sister though I still cannot figure out why Ryung was so hesitant to tell him the truth. At this point in their relationship she trusts him completely so why can't she tell him about her sister whether that was before or after she got caught. If he knew the truth, he'd be right there down in the tunnels with her consequences be damned! It also super super sucks that every time she does something against regulation it's Ji Seok who gets punished cause whether he knew or not, he's not able to control his subordinate but I mean how far can the man go to control another human being?? I did sympathize with Ma Ri this week because she's been working on this case for 2 years but for her it feels like Ryung swooped in and figured it all out on her own but that didn't excuse her behavior this week no matter how much I love her. It was an asshole move to expose Ryung for abandoning her sister to the whole squad but I suppose the worst move was when she decided all those years ago that just cause Jin wasn't kidnapped meant that she probs wasn't a victim of the Subway Ghost. I can't wrap my head around that logic cause so what if Jin was abandoned? I also suppose I don't understand why Ryung was so sure that her sister was killed by him. The whole squad looking down on Ryung was strange too but I think I have to chalk that up to korean values that I don't understand. As I thought the Grasshoppers were related to the Subway Ghost but unlike what I thought they're not just selling the stollen wallets to him but in fact one of them is the Ghost though it looks like it's a case of DID.
Chief Of Staff Season 2 (4/10): The second season of Chief of Staff. The real political players behind the spotlight take a dangerous gamble. Super Adviser Jang Tae Joon heads towards the peak of power and fiercely struggles for survival. Jang Tae Joon worked as the chief aide to Lawmaker Lawmaker Song Hee Sub. He now returns as a lawmaker and achieves the height of his power.

I will never get tired of Tae Joon sweeping the legs out from under all of his competition over and over whenever things look rough. It also helps that Minister Song is such a complete idiot that everything he ends up doing actually helps Tae Joon more than it hinders him. By repeatedly pressuring Chief Prosecutor Choi, all he did was make Choi understand that something sketchy was going on and that it probs had nothing to do with Tae Joon being corrupt but man oh man when Tae Joon turned the tables in the interrogation room, I was screaming. I still truly don't understand why Assemblyman Jo keeps helping Minister Song practically every chance he gets cause Song literally never keeps his promises but I'm hoping that now he'll pick Tae Joon's side cause Tae Joon is the only one who does as he promises! I'm interested in this new character we met this week who seems to want to become Tae Joon's Chief Of Staff cause he seems like a skeevy dude who'll do literally anything to get results but you know what if he's working for Tae Joon that might not be a bad thing. There's only so far you can go when you're fighting fair while rolling in the mud. After this week I'm more certain than ever that Chairman Lee is the one who killed Sun Young's old Chief Of Staff cause he's not doing any favors by running around threatening Sun Young and by Chief Of Staff Oh saying things like be careful or you might get hurt. I suppose it was about time that the villains started actively murdering others cause if they can't beat the heroes in politics, then killing them off one by one is the only option left. I'm still low key hoping that Choi joins our side cause he does seem like a good guy.
FINISHED Extraordinary You (32/32): What would you do if you found out that you were, in fact, a character in a comic? And an extra character on top of that? Change the course of the story, obviously! Eun Dan Oh is a 17-year-old high-school student from a wealthy family who suffers from a lifelong heart condition that inevitably means she will not live past her teenage years. However, when Dan Oh realizes she is experiencing long gaps in her memory as well, she comes into the unhappy inheritance of another fact in her life: she is a character in a Korean webtoon and all of her actions are predetermined by the artist who draws her. To make matters worse, she discovers she is only a supporting character in the cast. With her newfound understanding of the world she inhabits, she is determined to find true love in her own plot-line and circumvent the author’s plans for her character by utilizing the flashes of storyboard she alone is able to see.

The finale just aired and I'm feeling kind of mixed about it. When I started this drama all those weeks ago I was so in love with the concept and I was counting down the moments until the next episode aired but something shifted in the last few weeks and I found myself still enjoying the show but not as much as I did before... Part of it I think had to do with how the show focused so much on Kyung who I really couldn't care less about and part of it had to do with how oversaturated Dan Oh and Haru ended up being so half of their scenes had no meaning. Don't get me wrong there were still some super romantic moments like the diary letter this week and when Dan Oh and Haru exchanged those paper chain necklaces but I think the show should have devoted time to the other characters too the way it did at the start. Like straight up Secret is the worst written manga no? If I were a reader, I'd be pissed as shit! I mean Kyung and Dan Oh got more page time than Joo Da and Nam Joo despite being side characters though low key if it this much attention was given to Yi Jung and Ga Eul in Boys Over Flowers I wouldn't exactly be complaining. The other struggle with this finale was that it felt like so much was left dangling or wrapped up oddly. I mean Kyung went from this asshole to a good guy who was magically forgiven by everyone and Joo Da who was slowly falling for Do Hwa switched back to Nam Joo for no real reason. Squid Fairy's love interest was self-aware the whole time and she knew Squid Fairy was too but decided not to say anything for who knows what reason and Kyung's younger brother who felt like a villain ended up being nothing and I still don't know why he was so obsessed with Kyung. Having said that I did like the finale as a whole and I love the idea that Dan Oh and Haru find each other over and over across every manga the writer writes cause it's just as romantic as the idea of reincarnated lovers finding each other. Overall I'd still give this show a 10 / 10 cause of how fun the show was even if it didn't sound like I was thrilled this week!
FINISHED Hotel King (32/32): An heiress struggles to keep her 7-star hotel afloat with the help of the general manager who attempts to take revenge on his father. While the relationship of the two deepens into love, they also gradually learn about secrets surrounding the death of the late chairman which lead to a shocking revelation.

I started this drama expecting something totally different than what we ended up getting and though that wasn't entirely a bad thing, it did temper my enjoyment of this drama a little. What also caused me to suffer was the large episode count cause this felt like a 16 episode drama stretched to 32 episodes cause we went through the same problems over and over to the point where I was exhausted by the final stretch and just wanted the show to be over. Like I said I expected this drama to be a bit closer to a slice of life with romance and chaebol politics so at first I was meh about this show but once I changed my viewing lens to melo rather than slice of life, I was able to enjoy it more. I fell in love with Ah Mo Nae and what a complete badass she was from the first moment we met her. She was a little naive but I loved that she was smarter than she let on cause it's such a favorite trope of mine when a female or male lead acts dumb in order to convince everyone to look down on them so that they can outsmart others. Jae Wan took longer for me to enjoy cause he was just such an ass at first and I didn't particularly love the two together cause I had major SLS but as soon as the angst kicked in and Jae Wan was totally torn up about loving his fake sister, I was all about the main romance. I don't love when a female lead is only in a show to take care of the male lead's man pain but in this show it felt less like that was Mo Nae's only role so I was a huge sucker for how she felt like an angel come to save Jae Wan. Having said that I do have to admit that I was disappointed that as the show went on, Mo Nae started to exist just to love Jae Wan cause even when they were trying to save her hotel, he did all the work and she just stood around being like I love you. I also did super hate the final episode and the random breakup we got cause it felt like the writers just needed some sort of drama since we got rid of the villains in the episode before. I did really enjoy the whole cast of this show though and the villains were amazing to watch despite like I said the story with them dragged a little too much. Overall I'd give this show a 8 / 10!
Leverage (10/16): "Leverage" will tell the story of Lee Tae Joon, an elite insurance investigator turned scam strategist who recruits the best "players" in order to catch the real criminals who think they’re above the law.

Thank goodness this show is back this week cause I defs went through withdrawals last week! This show is everything and I'm so pissed that we ended where we did! So we officially met the Big Bad behind the curtain this week or at least that's who I think we're supposed to think he was and straight up I didn't recognize who he was until the show laid it out and was like oh shit that is Tae Joon's friend Joon Hyung! He's the one who picked Tae Joon up from prison and ran into him at the monastery and called Tae Joon's ex wife to ask her if he was working. I mentioned that week that Joon Hyung was totally sketch and as we just found out, it was true. I do wish he had popped in and out like more than just back in episode 3 cause that was weeks ago and I didn't remember him at all! I'm not entirely sure about the timeline but if I had to guess, Joon Hyung must have wanted to buy Mirae cause of Asana being a miracle drug so he clearly set up Tae Joon to steal it through that fake Chinese doctor and once the stocks fell bought Mirae like he planned. All those people in the know (like the Chief of Police and Chief Prosecutor) were probs all there in order to make sure he got away with it but I think where he erred was in that he didn't know Asana had crazy side effects so he accidentally killed Tae Joon's son and now has to hide it cause if it got out that Asana isn't the miracle people thought it was, Mirae would basically become bankrupt. I am low key worried though that next week when Tae Joon has to take the stand that he'll end up being raked along the coals cause I can't imagine the fact that he's an ex-con will be a good thing.
FINISHED Melting Me Softly (16/16): It’s a story about a man and a woman who participated in a project to be frozen for 24 hours, only to be waken up 20 years later due to a mysterious scheme. Once out of the freeze, the two experience a dangerous side effect from the project wherein they must maintain a core body temperature of 31.5 degrees Celsius (approximately 88.7 degrees Fahrenheit) to survive. Coupled with the warming of their hearts from romantic attraction, they find themselves in a sticky situation. Ma Dong Chan is a star variety show PD, who makes hits out of every show he creates. He decides to personally participate in his show called “Frozen Human Project,” but instead of waking up 24 hours later, 20 years have passed when he opens his eyes. Everyone he knows has aged 20 years, while he has maintained his perfect physique and youth from pre-freeze.

Well it's officially over. A truly meh ending to a truly bad show. I've been trying so hard for so many weeks to not say that this show was not good but in the end that's what it was made worse with how high all of our expectations were. Wookie you really failed us all in choosing your comeback show and honestly I'm going to be heartbroken if we have to wait another year before we can see you in a new drama. As I expected Mi Ran did end up going back in the capsule though I was wrong about Dong Chan having to as well but the reasoning for it was so lame. Like I get the idea of love making her try to take the knife for Dong Chan but once again she refuses to think and focuses on her emotions. Instead of shouting to him to look out or realizing that he'd probs have a better chance of getting better since his body temperature was normal, she jumped in losing another 3 years of her life. It was low key hilarious that poor Dong Chan is now like close to 40 and his family is like Mi Ran when will you get married and she's like I'm 24 and I want to wait 6 years and I'm like girl at this point you need to think of the other guy! It was hilarious that her friend married Dong Chan's old employee and that they're miserable now cause he was the worst but I also loved how Dong Chan's sister and her first ex (the police officer) are in this hilarious place where he suddenly loves her again and she's like nah bro. Overall I'm sure the finale wasn't as bad as I made it out to be but I was just so disappointed with everything that I just wanted it to end so I'd never have to go back so here we are with me rating this show a 5.5 / 10.
V.I.P. (12/32): VIP is a drama that seeks to find an answer in the secretive relationships we hold in today’s society. Jung Sun is a competent and successful career woman who works as a deputy manager at Sung Woon Department Store. Her job as a member of the VIP Management Team is to satisfy their top one percent of customers who are the special VIPs and VVIPs. Not only is she professional at work, but she has a happy household with a wonderful husband, Sung Jun. However, one day she receives an anonymous text message. It says that her romantic husband is having an affair with someone at the office. Anxious to lose everything she has, she desperately studies the office and her co-workers to find out the woman Sung Jun is seeing. In the course of events, secrets behind each of the workers at the VIP Management Team are revealed. Will Jung Sun find out the truth behind the anonymous text message?

I'm high key obsessed with this show even though I hate it at the same time. The whole cheating thing makes me sad but I love the way the mystery is playing out and the cinematography is absolutely gorgeous. I cannot tell you how relieved I was that Hyun Ah wasn't the mistress cause I loved her and her bitchiness is everything cause she's the fun kind of bitch not a second female lead level type of bitch. I also love how much she loves Jung Sun tbh and that despite everything she was on Jung Sun's side and I loved her calling out Sung Jun. As the show goes on I'm less and less inclined to believe the cheating is real just based on the way the mystery is playing out. I said two weeks ago that it's possible that this whole thing is actually about chaebol politics and the fight between the two VPs and that Sung Jun is pretending he's been cheating in order to protect Jung Sun from the truth but seriously if that's true the secret better be the biggest juiciest thing ever cause damn cheating is ruining their relationship and straight up why was he so sure that she wouldn't divorce his ass like I would have. The friend also knows what's going on and it really adds to my thought that he's not cheating cause why would Sung Jun tell his friend? I do really enjoy the VIP management stuff a lot though and I really like how a lot of times it ends up paralleling what Jung Sun is dealing with. I also have a feeling that Yoo Ri might not be sleeping with the VP though his wife clearly knows her face so if I had to guess I'd go with secret love child not secret mistress. We also learned that Mi Na is pregnant and I'll be curious to know if her freakout is as simple as the fact that she's going to have to take off from work once again cause of her pregnancy or if it's cause it's not her husband's child.

    CDRAMA

Dive (24/30): A story that revolves around a diving team in the brink of disbandment.

We're nearing the end of this drama and I'm still leaning towards meh about how I feel for this drama. A lot happened this week but I still feel like nothing really changed awkwardly enough. Haoran switched to the rival diving team cause he's still pissed that Bailong won't dive with him but it's like at this point doesn't he realize that he's not a good fit? I mean they dived together in the first competition and did so poorly so that should prove it. I really wasn't all that surprised though cause I had a feeling for a while that he seemed the type to switch teams but I really feel bad for poor Tianlin who just loves Haoran but keeps being shit on. I love that he's so close with Weite on the side though cause he deserves a friend who appreciates him and I'm low key in love with how he's partnering with Bailong in the end even though Haoran tried everything under the sun to be with Bailong. Bailong and Mi Ran are dating now but literally no one cares about Mi Ran's rich family problems and how her mother doesn't like Bailong or how she wants Mi Ran to marry a rich guy to save their company. Weite and Caiyi are still dancing around dating and as the show goes on it feels less and less like Weite sees her as anything more than a friend. When he was so obsessed with his ex, it made me want to be like Caiyi go and flirt with some random dude and see if he gets jealous but there are no other guys around her other than maybe Tianlin which tbh I wouldn't be against.
DROPPED No Secrets (24/45): A story about a young man who can read people's minds and a worthless lawyer who come to protect each other. A tragic case from the past revolving around a car accident connects the lives of Lin Xing Ran and Jiang Xia. After 10 years, the young man who can read minds and the impulsive public defender meet again. Meanwhile, Zhang Xiao Quan is Lin Xing Ran's boss who has a reputation for never having lost a single case while Gu Si Yu is a colleague who becomes a bitter rival.

Remakes are always interesting cause I can never decide if I prefer cdramas or kdramas. 9 times out of 10 I would say that I prefer the way kdramas tell their stories but every 1 out of 10 times a cdrama really captures my heart so I can never convince myself to skip one just in case I end up loving it which was the case here. Having said that it would be clear if you read any of my reviews for this show that I just couldn't connect to this show. Of course being a remake I kept comparing it to the original kdrama which might not be fair but I'm sure that if this show had been good that I would have enjoyed it anyway. At some point I want to check out Come Jang Bo Ri cause that's the original kdrama version of Because Of Meeting You which is the newer cdrama remake which will be interesting to experience cause the cdrama is one of my favorite dramas so see I'm not biased! As you can tell though I decided to drop this one cause I found myself fast-forwarding through much of the show and rather than waste my time I figured I should stop watching it all together so I can devote that time to something I enjoy.

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Anyway, let's dive right in shall we?

Welcome To Demon School Iruma-Kun Episode 6

You can't see me right now but I'm snickering as I write this review. This episode wasn't supposed to be as funny as it was if you look at it on paper but seriously this show knows exactly how to tickle my funny bone! People are obsessed with Cautious Hero and I'm watching it too though not reviewing it but it does nothing for me tbh while this one kills me every week. I love that Iruma is now able to use magic based on the ring he got from the owl demon last week which like straight up I should totally have seen coming cause duh a ring that siphons off magic from other demons?! It makes Iruma so much more fun to watch and allows him to not only fit in but participate in class now. I was living for when he made a cherry blossom tree erupt and destroy the tower that he was in but like was any one else thinking that somehow his magic blood thing would do something? I was low key sitting here being like Iruma bleed on that plant and see what happens cause my brain didn't even think of the magic ring. The funniest part of the episode though was hands-down the stuff we got with the Student President who I expected to be this tough leader but ended up being so soft and I adore that. I straight up died when she went on and on about these sacred human texts that her family passed down through generations and then they ended up being mangas. I didn't realize that most demons thought that humans were a myth but it definitely explains why they're all so fascinated by Iruma without knowing what he is. I especially loved how the Student President thought that humans have this charming ability and that now she thinks that Iruma did it to her when it's like you sweet summer child you just have a crush!

Special 7: Special Crime Investigation Unit Episode 6

Okay so I'm thinking Nine's evil plan might be something similar to Father's plan in Fullmetal Alchemist in that it seems as though dragons can be summoned with magical circles. We know that Nine's ultimate goal is to bring dragons and magic back into the world and in this episode we learned that a small circle with a few deaths caused a small dragon to appear so it stands to reason that a giant circle in the city would lead to a giant dragon appearing. It's possible that the points on the circle are where Nine are doing these terror attacks so each terror attack's outcome isn't all that important cause they're still progressing towards calling on the giant dragon they want. I'm just not sure how they're planning on controlling the dragon or if their goal is just to bring it back for chaos or if dragons are intelligent enough to know who helped them and bestow gifts. I also have a feeling that Seiji's otherworldliness is related to these dragons. Maybe when the Nine summoned a dragon at that airport all those years ago, Seiji was dying and that cop who saved him somehow put the dragon's magic or essence into Seiji thus saving his life and ridding the world of the dragon that was summoned. It explains why he was able to stop the magical bombs a few weeks ago and what happened this week with being able to block a dragon's breath. He also had the same reptilian pupil as the Nine boss did which throws up red flags for me. The boss also clearly knows more than he's saying cause not only did he have all this knowledge on dragons but he also did some sort of chant that woke Seiji's powers.

Stand My Heroes: Piece Of Truth Episode 6

This was more of a chill episode which was strange cause you would think that with only 12 episodes this season that the show doesn't have time for filler episodes but at the same time I guess with all the craziness we learned last week we needed a moment to breathe. What does suck is that it seems like we're not actually done with meeting more reverse harem men but at least it's only Kujo's right hand men that are left and based on the opening song, there's four of them and while at first glance I thought one of them was the REVEL leader, they just have similar hair colors. Anyone else low key worried about Rei having to go talk to Kujo on her own? I'm really hoping that Aoyame goes with her cause even though I'm sure that Kujo's not going to like kidnap her on one visit, it'd be helpful to have him by her side to read the room cause Rei's default is to give people the benefit of the doubt like with Kujo's two right hand men that she met at the festival this week. It makes me super curious about what STAND's motives are cause they're clearly going after the same drug case that the narcotics unit is working but in a more subtle way I think. But back to what I said before about Rei meeting Miyase and Kirishima. She was super unsubtle with her questioning of Miyase and he clearly knew it though she tried to play it off by acting like an airhead but the whole thing was off based on how she started it all by giving him her name card which says she works in narcotics. Maybe she'll lean more into the airhead thing next week when she meets Kujo cause men seem to let their guard down in front of women especially when they think they're just a secretary or something.

    Batwoman Season 1 Episode 6

It's interesting how an episode can feel so meh for so much of it only to really hit you in the feels at the end and make you question whether the episode you watched really wasn't as terrible as you thought it was. If Batwoman does one thing right, it's the family aspect of this show. Kate and Jacob and Beth are the core of this show and I'm honestly such a sucker for sad moments between family so I tend to cry anytime any of it appears on screen and this week that was the final Kate and Jacob scene. I was crying right alongside Kate and Jacob as they cried over Beth cause it was just so believable and I've said before that I wasn't sure if their relationship was the one I was expecting but I do have hope that it might get even stronger. I was sitting here hoping so hard that Kate would tell the truth about who she was to Jacob during the gas chamber scene but no dice yet. Sophie is still the worst and I hate so much that she's the first one to figure out who Kate was. I blame her for breaking Kate's heart back then and for pretending like she isn't anything now while simultaneously needing Kate to tell her everything all the time. I wish it had been Mary or Jacob instead but the ship has sailed and I gotta get on board. The Alice and Mouse stuff wasn't great either but it's interesting that Katherine's big new weapon is one that'll pierce Batman's armor cause it's so crazy that despite everything Batman has done for Gotham, they still hate him so much. Also didn't Bruce make a version of this weapon a while ago? It's interesting that despite everything Alice doesn't blame Kate for not saving her and puts all the blame on Jacob cause as we learned this week Alice wants Kate to join her and Mouse and it low key sucks that Mouse knows who Kate is now too.

Ugh of course Sophie can't just let it go and needs to blackmail Kate. And Kate girl Sophie is the worst. Move on!!

    The Mandalorian Season 1 Episode 1 & 2

Instead of just getting the pilot, we got two episodes this week and I had a blast. The saying slow and steady wins the race comes to my mind as I think about how to start this review cause both episodes were definitely slow but they were so much fun to watch and I have a feeling that the slowness is only going to attach us more to the characters and the world so when shit goes down, we'll really care. First of all I want to thank everything that this is set post Return Of The Jedi cause if I had to watch ANOTHER goddamn show set between Revenge Of The Sith and A New Hope, I was going to lose it. Another thing I want to shout out is what feels like an astronomical budget for a tv show cause the visuals were so pretty! Now onto plot stuff. So if I remember correctly about Star Wars canon Mandalore was destroyed by the Empire pretty early on so it looks like the remaining few have created a base in some other planet (that doesn't have a name which tbh none of the planets we visited had them on screen) and the main character seems to be hunting bounties in order to provide for the colony. It's also really interesting that there are still Imperial members and Storm Troopers around cause duh of course they would be! The Emperor and Darth Vader were killed in ROTJ but that doesn't mean that the Empire was completely destroyed yet. But what really blew my mind was the child we met that is the same species as Yoda. It is so cute I could die. Also isn't it so weird that we never learned what kind of alien Yoda was in literally any corner of the Star Wars canon? It is force sensitive as we learned but I'm curious to know if it's just another in the species or a clone that maybe the Empire lost and want back. I do know that it can't be a reincarnation cause it was born the same year Anakin was and since Yoda didn't die until more recently, the timeline doesn't match up. I'm also curious at the fact that the Mando was confused about it's force abilities cause like you would think with Vadar and Luke running around, Jedi wouldn't be a myth anymore.

    Riverdale Season 4 Episode 6

In true Riverdale fashion what started as a fairly typical grounded romp into a prestigious academy turned into crazy fanaticism and deaths all around. I mean seriously. Jughead was all excited to enter the writing competition only to find out that his grandfather was the one to write the first book of the series and when he confronted the writer who claimed to have written it, the writer went on this long tirade about how the poor don't know how to appreciate what they have and are constantly trying for him. It then devolved into Jughead's teacher killing himself and all of the students acting like cultists and truly not giving a shit and I'm sitting here like what the hell did I just experience? Is Jughead's whole story this season part of his mystery story that he's been writing or is this just Riverdale per usual? Betty on the other hand went to Chic and like I said last week it was a truly stupid idea cause of course Chic lied about everything. What was interesting though was that it seems like Charles and Chic are in love so I wonder if Charles came back just to get revenge on Riverdale and Betty specifically for Chic. Plot twist but Charles is also not who he says he is and next season we'll get a new Charles cause this show will never show us the real Cooper-Jones child. I'm still giving zero shits about Archie and his whole thing but it always amuses me when Archie and Hiram work together and it's clear that Hiram was the one to attack Dodger even though he told Archie that he's no longer in that business. Also we're like straight up pretending like Cheryl hasn't completely lost her mind right?

Next week is the Thanksgiving episode and Betty and Jughead might finally be working together again to figure out what's going on in Stonewall and I can't wait cause I love when they do their mystery dynamic duo thing. Dodger's mom is also apparently coming and she's going to be blaming Archie for what happened but like he's the one who called the ambulance so like duh woman!

    Assassin's Pride Episode 6

What is up with all the anime having oddly placed filler episodes this week? I mean what even was this episode? The whole plot line was that Kufa and Rosetti found out that the girls were having a sort of after-tournament party just for the girls past curfew so they decided that it would be a good idea to scare the girls half to death in order to teach them a lesson about sneaking out. The fact that this was the plot was ridiculous cause beyond the fact that it made for a silly episode, Kufa and Rosetti really couldn't let the girls have even the slightest amount of fun after all they went through? I mean they trained so hard that they deserve to let some steam off. I knew pretty early on that it was probs the instructors playing a trick especially when Melida kept thinking that all they had to do was get up to the surface cause then Kufa would save her. Honestly if I'm being more impartial about the whole thing I have to say it wasn't a terrible episode but I think the problem is that I just expect more from this anime cause it started out so strongly and there was so much I was interested in learning more about but for the past couple of weeks we've focused so heavily on the silliness that I'm staring at the episode count and wondering when the real meat of the story will show up. I mean Melida still doesn't know that she's sharing Kufa's mana or that he's a vampire or that her father is trying to kill her. That's gotta come up sometime right?

    Titans Season 2 Episode 11

If I'm being as impartial as I can be I might say that this episode wasn't half bad but if I'm letting my emotions in, I wasn't a fan of pretty much anything I watched. I just can't connect with almost any of the Titans since they broke up cause I feel like the way they acted was insane and illogical and just plain mean and idk what the show wanted us to feel but I'm so over all of them except for Dick, Gar, Kory and perhaps Connor tbh. Everyone else is all so terrible and judge-y and I'm tired of watching them constantly shit on Dick. I did think it was creative of Bruce to get some of the Titans together cause it was the first Batman thing I've seen this Bruce do though I'm not sure why he didn't call Hank or Jason. Speaking of Jason, I think this Rose/Jason thing happened way too quickly but I was proud to note that I was right in thinking that Rose was a plant in the Titans and that Jason inadvertently convinced her to stop spying which is hilarious in terms of Slade cause it's like you really lost two kids to the Titans huh. I was also right in guessing that Jericho was alive and inside Slade and Dick figured it out too this week which I'm interested to see where it goes. Other than the conclusion, I was really over Dick's whole story this week but I did think it was hilarious that Rachel and Kory showed up to rescue him and he had already escaped cause duh Dick's a badass. But on another note Rachel was getting psychic dreams of Dick's death when he was perfectly fine (though self-flagellating) but Gar who's literally being tortured and mind controlled didn't send her demon powers any red flags? It was even weirder when she heard that the tower was destroyed and blood was everywhere and she didn't worry about Gar at all. Poor Gar definitely has more feelings than her. I'm high key worried about what's going on with Gar because even if Donna and Dawn get him out, what's up with the mind control??
