What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Anyway, let's dive right in shall we?

Welcome To Demon School Iruma-Kun Episode 5

Well looks like Iruma's fantastic luck can't last forever! I totally thought that the bird he saved was the Guardian of the Cutthroat Valley and that it would end up taking him to the finish line first but it ended up being the child of the Guardian and like a baby took his new toy to his mama which was adorable. Of course this ended up leaving Iruma and Sabro to show up at the finish line last but I mean how cool is it to ride up on the Guardian of the Cutthroat Valley when normally it attacks any demon around? I was also sure when the Rank Owl appeared that Iruma would end up getting a high rank by accident again but instead he ended up with a ring that signified his future Demon King status though it was super interesting that no one else except for Sabro seemed to recognize it. I probs should have realized that Iruma wouldn't get a real rank just like he didn't get a real familiar cause he's human so the demon rules don't work for him but I think part of me just expects it anyway based on the humor in this show. Maybe I shouldn't care though cause it's obvious Iruma doesn't care about ranking or what class he's in. Regardless of all that, the humor in this show is still the absolute best. I died when the teacher was like the Rank Owl hasn't made a noise in centuries and then a second later it screeches at Iruma!

Special 7: Special Crime Investigation Unit Episode 5

Omg the right hand of the Nine leader can't be Nijou's brother, can he?? What a fun twist! I do love this show cause it uses the perfect mix of humor and fun characters while also having an interesting story and a good plot which is more than I can say for an anime like Babylon which is getting all the praise this season but I just can't get into it no matter how much I watch. The leader of Nine planned some sort of terrorist attack like the airport one we saw Seiji was in as a teen but I still don't understand what the Nine want. Like I know they want magic back and dragons but how are terrorist attacks going to get them what they want if the magic is with the government? Is the plan to ransom off the hostages in order to get magic? As if the government would allow something so dangerous to land in the hands of criminals! It was a lot of fun watching Seiji and Ichinose trick the amateur terrorists and take them down and now that the rest of Special 7 is here, I'm sure we'll be fine. I am worried about poor Nijou who's stuck in the basement alone and injured and it looks like if that scarred guy is his brother after all, he's got some sort of memory loss cause he didn't seem to notice or recognize Nijou at all. It brings me back to my question from a few weeks ago about whether elves can transfer their elvish nature to humans cause the right hand guy looked human too. Maybe I'm reading too far into it and the story is literally just that Nijou was adopted!

Stand My Heroes: Piece Of Truth Episode 5

We finally got some answers and it looks like the puzzle I put together over the last few weeks is pretty much the right one with a few new pieces here and there. As it turns out Plus aka the drug that circulated 16 years ago and again now originally started out as a new pharmaceutical drug that originated at a Kujo owned company and was financed by Aoyame's family. It underwent human trials but the side effects were too intense and so they stopped the testing but not before it affected at least two people enough that one accidentally killed Makoto and Kyosuke's sister and the other killed (as I'm assuming cause she never actually said it) Rei's parents. The Kujo family and other rich stockholders then covered up the case in order to save face but after that Plus ended up on the streets somehow (possibly through the Kujo family deciding to run it as an illegal drug instead cause dollar dollar bills ya'll) before it was shut down only to resurface now. I'm still so curious to know more and whether anyone other than Hiyama from REVEL knows the truth cause it feels like the other three are pretty in the dark and I can't imagine that Maki would be cool working with the same people who probs caused his kidnapping. I do feel a little sorry for Aoyame who's clearly blaming himself for the tragedies when the poor guy was just a kid when it all happened so it's not his fault. I also really loved that even though STAND and the cops of Team 1 shut Rei out that her own narcotics squad still has her back. I'm glad that we're done with the whole scouting aspect of this show and I hope from now on we'll dive deep into this drug case though I'm really not sure how the story will go cause it feels like our narcotics squad has the whole story painted so all they need is proof now.

Batwoman Season 1 Episode 5

This was honestly such a heartbreaking episode to watch and I'll never not be stunned with how much I enjoy Alice as a character and as a villain. I know everyone has been complaining that she's pretty much like every other season 1 Arrowverse villain being that she is connected to the hero but I mean what a lame complaint honestly cause most comic book villains are connected to the hero somehow cause that's what makes them all the more interesting. I mean literally look at any of the villains in the Arrowverse that were the best of the best: Reverse Flash, Zoom, Malcolm Merlyn, Deathstroke, ad Prometheus were all connected to Barry or Oliver in some way which is why their motives were so understandable and why we enjoyed them. This was Alice's backstory episode and I have to admit I felt so so bad for her and the pain and torture she probably went through even if we didn't see it all. A large part of me was sitting there hoping right alongside Beth that Kate or Jacob would find her especially when they got to the house even though I knew perfectly well that she never was found. It seems like Jacob now officially believes that Alice is Beth and my heart breaks for both him and Kate. I really hope that this is enough to get Jacob to divorce Katherine cause she still messed way up but honestly I was a little surprised that she wasn't as much of a schemer as I expected her to be. Mary's role in this episode was really sad too cause I completely understand the feeling of inferiority she feels cause as much as she has always wanted Kate to be her sister, Kate's never truly cared for her more than a cursory glance but I do think Mary was overreacting a little in the moment cause Kate and Jacob just found out that Beth is alive and they need a minute before they can process someone else's pain as well.

Ugh why Sophie. Who even enjoys her character? I had a feeling that she would be the first one to realize who Kate was but I had still hoped that she wouldn't cause I don't like her and I don't need her to have any more screen time or get close to Kate through Team Batwoman. I still want Jacob and Mary to be the ones to know the truth!

The Flash Season 6 Episode 5

Here's the thing with this episode: Plot A was interesting minus one aspect, Plot B made no sense, and Plot C was too short and random to matter so that's what kind of episode we had here. It was so heavy-handed with the theme of faith that I rolled my eyes so hard I gave myself a headache while watching it. First of all how rude of this show for killing Gypsy offscreen! She was such a major character and one I loved so long ago and seriously if we could afford Breacher, we could've have Gypsy die in the final scene of last week's episode or had her pop up earlier this season to say that she cornered Ecco down so her death didn't feel like it came out of nowhere! The speech at the end from Cisco about how Gypsy was a part of him and made him who he was now was so random that I literally had to look up the actress to make sure she was okay cause Cisco and Gypsy broke up a long time ago and like he's been dating Camilla for a while so why bring this all up now?? Despite that it was great seeing Breacher again and I loved that a Cisco doppelgänger was the one to kill Gypsy but I have to say I never really warmed up to Camilla (she's so meh tbh) so like the whole Cisco being afraid to tell her that he loved her meant nothing to me. What meant even less to me was the entire story of Joe and Nash being stuck in that tunnel. Joe went on this long preachy speech about how faith can save anyone and how Nash just needs to let someone in and I was sitting here like dude you've known Nash for five seconds, how do you know he doesn't have a family or a team or faith or whatever? This was a moment that you save for the midseason not three episodes after he first appeared! Caitlin and Ramsay had a moment too that ended pretty much going nowhere and I truly don't know why we even had this plot at all. Once again we literally just met Ramsay so him calling Caitlin his sister was ridiculous. As an aside, I do wonder if this was the episode that filmed the same time Crisis was filming which is why Barry and Iris weren't in the episode at all.

It looks like there won't be an episode of Flash next week but in two weeks we'll be having a Ralph centric episode which is also James Bond themed so it appears which should be fun. I'm assuming that while Ralph and Barry are working on one case, the others will be down in the tunnels with Nash learning about the Monitor.

Arrow Season 8 Episode 4

I don't know where to even start with this episode but I guess we could with the fact that Mia, Connor and William are staying in 2019 which means no more flash forwards!!!! Yay! Confetti! Streamers! Cheers all around!! Okay but seriously I'm so glad that they're sticking around cause I haven't got nearly enough of the Smoak-Queen Family together and I'm just heartbroken that Felicity can't join them too. Mia spent most of the episode being herself: stubborn and cold but eventually she was able to thaw a little but I mean can you blame her? She lost her father right after she was born and to her it was a form of abandonment cause what is more important than family? I'm glad that she finally opened up a little and I can't wait to see more of her thawing with Oliver and William around. I was also really glad that William was finally able to talk to Oliver about how much he loved him and that scene where he came out was so sweet cause Oliver just lit up and just he's so handsome and such a proud dad in that moment. Diggle and Connor were also really interesting to see and of course Diggle took the blame onto himself though I almost teared up when Diggle told Connor that he was his family too despite not knowing a single thing about Connor cause that's just the man Diggle is! I'm definitely of the mind that the future will be different now cause there's no way that Arrow's legacy is such a shitty future especially now that the future trio has told Old Team Arrow everything so they know what to avoid and if that's true I'll be really impressed with the writers who clearly planned this from last season! On the Monitor front I still don't know what I believe though in my heart of hearts I don't think he's a bad guy cause why else bring William, Mia and Connor back or bring Felicity to Oliver in the future? I think all of this is just a way to confuse the audience and I will die of laughter if Oliver actually ends up being the reason for the Crisis to kick off with his need to have a weapon to kill the Monitor.

No Arrow next week either and that makes me really curious as to why all both Arrow and Flash decided to skip a week but Batwoman didn't... Anyway when we get back we're going to Russia and that means Anatoly must show up cause duh!

Riverdale Season 4 Episode 5

I'm almost officially casting my vote this week on Jughead not being dead. I just can't see how everyone is so calm about it cause you would think Betty and FP at the very least would be more torn up! I mean seriously they are way too calm for it to make sense. I'm thinking that this is either from Jughead's murder mystery story that he needs to write for class or something else is going on like possibly Jughead's death was faked in order to catch some other killer, Charles for example. Jughead's story was interesting this week and pretty much the only one that I cared about cause I do love how much FP loves him though he doesn't show it that often and I'm really interested in this grandfather of Jughead's that clearly has to come back cause duh but it's kinda fascinating how the show is portraying him as more than one-note which Riverdale does have a problem doing with bad guys. I mean he abused FP and FP's mom for his entire life but he's also the one to give Jughead his love for writing. Betty went down the rabbit hole this week but it all ended in her deciding that Charles was sketch cause of his serial killer genes which I'm pretty sure is just because she needs somewhere to turn her attention to that isn't herself cause though we the audience know something's up with Charles since he bugged Betty's phone, Betty doesn't know this. But having said that though Betty's storyline was so dumb, at least it wasn't Archie's cause there are no words to describe how ridiculous it was. I feel like this show has no idea what to do with Archie like ever and that's hilarious cause he's technically supposed to be the main character after all. Veronica spent most of the episode trying to juggle her parents' trials in which she wanted Hermione acquitted but Hiram locked up. As it turned out Betty and Jughead aren't the only ones with a secret half sibling but it seems Veronica has one too (or so I'm assuming cause I don't entirely think this new girl is Hermione's daughter since Veronica doesn't know her) but it's hilarious that Hiram is trying to run for mayor cause it's like he's kinda the worst candidate but I guess if FP can become Sheriff after having no experience and being the leader of a gang, why not?

Lots of craziness is happening next week it looks like and hopefully it'll be a better episode than this one. Betty is going to Chic to find out about Charles and that might be the smartest move cause they were roommates for a while but I'm not sure that Chic is trustworthy. It also looks like Dodger might have figured out Archie was the one who was threatening him so the bullets. I'm not looking forward to the return of the Cheryl and her triplet story but that's there too I guess.

Assassin's Pride Episode 5

One of the majorly unfortunate things about this show having both a low budget and a small episode count is that things are rushed too much especially the fight scenes. I was really looking forward to the big tournament that happened this week but we spent most of the time dealing with Melida and Elise's relationship and a little on the assassin that was sent to take Melida's blood. We barely got one fight in the tournament that really just ended with Melida and Elise reaffirming their love for one another and then we pretty much skipped forward so we didn't even get to see how the other school won. It was especially jarring though to see Kufa show up to stop the assassin and the next thing we know, he's defeated the assassin and given her some fake information to give to Melida's father about Melida similar to what he did two weeks ago with the lycanthrope. I wonder if the real battle will end up being later cause I can't imagine Kufa's hidden vampire side won't mean anything or the fact that Melida is using his mana. I really did think that random rich girl was actually the assassin in disguise like Kufa but either way she ended up stealing a sample of Melida's mana for some reason we don't know yet. Maybe I'm just expecting too much from this story and the plot really is as simple as Melida's father sending assassin after assassin only to have them defeated by Kufa because he refuses to believe that Melida is his child.

Titans Season 2 Episode 10

I don't wanna start with the negative first tbh but I just need to say that Dick's entire storyline this week took me straight out of the show cause there's no way that a) Dick would get 7 years for punching a police officer b) Bruce wouldn't have some sort of alert to tell him that Dick's in trouble and wouldn't go to him with a lawyer or something. I did however love him in prison and meeting those Corto Maltese men and how they basically gave him the idea for Nightwing which by the by show the people you're throwing that Easter Egg to figured out what you were saying after the first time, no need to show the Nightwing symbol over and over again. I guess it's up to either Kory showing up with fake FBI papers and being like Dick was undercover or Dick escaping and then getting Gar or Bruce to delete his arrest file whenever Dick is done with whatever he's doing right ow. Speaking of my baby Gar, he's still getting screen time and I'm living! We're finally getting to see just want Gar wants and that's a family but he's spiraling a little cause his family all left but I love how close he and Connor are getting. I hope that he's the one to help Connor get out of Cadmus later too. I have a feeling though that Cadmus is going to try to lure the Titans to save Gar and I'll be interested to see where that goes. Rachel's entire story was meh and I find her attitude change meh and I truly don't care about those runaway kids. It is interesting though that the power inside her can kind of do things on it's own but with a hint of what Rachel wanted.

xoxo Allie
