What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Anyway, let's dive right in shall we?

Welcome To Demon School Iruma-Kun Episode 8

While I thought Clara was adorable when we first met her back in like episode 3 as time went on her brand of air-headed behavior became more annoying than anything else so when I realized this episode would focus on her, at first I wasn't thrilled. As the episode went on, I found myself really enjoying her though and I wonder if it's just that I wish she had more to do than just say silly things in the background. I still live for how she's always climbing Sabro and he's like so chill about it but I was also happy that the fallout from Iruma hanging out with Amelie continued this week cause like I said last week I had been hoping for more jealously or something from Clara and Azz and this episode gave it to me. Clara decided that she had to seduce Iruma in order to keep him from leaving them and it was everything watching her try to follow the steps of seduction only to confuse Iruma completely and actually make things worse. I was dying when she received a lower sexy scale than a baby but in the end it looks like maybe Iruma likes her just the way she is. I wondered if there will be any romance in this anime and at first I thought maybe it would be with Amelie cause of how much Iruma blushed around her but I think if there is romance it'll be with Clara at this point cause Iruma's heart skipped a beat when she told him one day he would fall in love with her and based on how that's a huge sign of a future romance, I think we've found out main couple. Iruma also decided he's going to move up a rank cause he doesn't have a dream yet and I can't wait cause this is defs step one of becoming Demon King!

Special 7: Special Crime Investigation Unit Episode 8

This was a bit of a standalone episode in that it didn't move the overarching plot forward until the very end. Bellemer got kidnapped and at first I thought maybe it was Nine only to find out that it actually had more to do with a different case where people were kidnapping homunculi so that they could cut out their hearts and sell them on the black market since supposedly people believe that eating a homunculus heart will give them youth. It was an interesting case cause we did get to focus on Bellemer a little but I still don't understand the drone thing that the boss flies around in cause you would think that easier than Bellemer having to figure out a way to email information to Special 7 would have been for the boss to leave the drone for long enough to relay information. But then again I have no idea how it works so maybe he couldn't leave the drone like that? Also Seiji really is that dumbass who runs from one situation to another without any thought of how or what. When he was sprinting around asking random people about whether they saw anything I had to roll my eyes so hard. Ichinose was right in saying that rushing into things blindly doesn't help cause it'll just tire you out before you even get anywhere. As for the overarching plot story, Seiji finally mentioned that Nijou's brother is the man who saved him though he doesn't know who he is but Ichinose will definitely put two and two together. I'm still waiting on whether or not there's a deeper connection between the two cause you can't tell me that the animators for this show just accidentally drew two characters to look alike!

Stand My Heroes: Piece Of Truth Episode 8

Okay so was anyone else really confused with how this episode started? I hardcore wondered if somehow I had missed an episode or a post credits scene last week or something cause it went from Rei and Miyase looking at some secret files to Rei suddenly meeting Miyase at a cafe and mentioning that she wants to work with him. We never really saw what was in those files but I'm assuming based on what we learned later that it might have been the formula for Square aka the drug that Omori was making before it became Plus and ended up on the streets. They also found evidence that the man who died in the Anonymous Case was a Omori employee but though Rei decided that this was the perfect amount of evidence to link Kujo to the Anonymous Case, I can't really see how it connects just yet. At the very least we're back to thinking that Kujo isn't a good guy despite Miyase adoring him. The more interesting piece of the puzzle is still what STAND is and whether or not they're bad guys too. I know for sure they're investigating the Anonymous Case again and that's why they made Rei scout the men she did but at the same time when Rei and her boss tried to get the case they had against Kujo to the higher ups, they kept being turned away making me wonder if we're back to the same point in the past when Plus and the Anonymous Case were covered up by the higher ups to save face or if STAND and the higher ups have some larger goal that Rei and the narcotics division is messing up by investigating.

The Flash Season 6 Episode 7

Honestly guys I didn't like this episode and I don't know what to say beyond the usual (blah blah Barry's not going to die permanently blah blah Crisis buildup should stick to Arrow) and I don't wanna be a broken record at this point so let's move on I suppose. It's interesting that this week's episode and next week's are considered to be taking place over two days but it also low key sucks cause Barry is going to be struggling hard right up to and through Crisis. It's also super strange that both Arrow and Flash did dream/alternate reality type episodes this week and I wonder if that was on purpose or if it was an accident. I think my main struggle with this episode was that I don't particularly like Barry as a character so watching him struggle with deciding whether to take Ramsay's deal and save himself didn't connect with me. All I could think was that Barry was being selfish and that Oliver when given the same choice picked the world over and over (without all the whining) even in the face of his actual family compared to Barry's possible future family and that it's annoying that the Flash is considered to be more of the hero than the Green Arrow. In the end Barry chose himself as per usual (hello Flashpoint and Nora moving Crisis up cause Barry couldn't see the big picture) though it did lead to a cool reveal and what should be an awesome episode next week. I also love that Iris is finally being given something to do but it was so weird when Allegra tried to convince Iris to write that article about how Barry dies and it's like first of all Allegra why aren't you asking why or how Iris knows the Flash is going to die in two days and secondly it's like I don't know if you have the right to convince a wife to write what basically amounts to an obituary. Having said that I do love the idea of the Iris, Allegra, and Kamilla having a story to follow on their own and I wonder if that secret agency will end up being the villain of the second half of the season.

Next week is the final episode before Crisis and it looks like we're going to be playing with a zombie/deadly infection type of episode which are always fun. I wonder if we'll actually defeat Ramsay next week cause I did hear that he was only the villain for the first half of the season.

Arrow Season 8 Episode 6

You know at first glance I wanted to say that I didn't love this episode and that it felt a bit too close to filler for my taste but as the episode went on, I realized that this was actually a truly lovely episode and I really liked what I was watching! It feels like the Flash does these deeply emotional episodes all the time which is why they tend to feel the same after a while but Arrow usually focuses on the action so when it slows itself down to let us really sit in our feels, it impacts me more. I mean I can't tell you how much I cried watching Quentin and Laurel be together one last time and just like Laurel I couldn't bare to watch him die over and over. I still don't know whether the Monitor is a good person or not but it seems like his role in putting Oliver and Laurel in these time loops was to force them to accept that some things just happen no matter how hard you fight them but at the same time he helped them fix their biggest regrets making me wonder if that was just a side effect of what he was doing or if he was hoping that by doing so and accepting his truth that they would be more pliable for Crisis. I don't love the idea that in order for Oliver to move forward he had to give in cause it reminded me too much of every other Arrow villain who tried to force Oliver to be someone he's not. It is interesting though that both Barry and Oliver keep being told over and over that their death is the only way to save the world and that they need to embrace it and it's funny pairing this episode with Flash cause it just highlights why I think Oliver is a better hero than Barry but the thing that truly works is that I can completely see Oliver dying in Crisis no matter how much I don't want it to be true. I also think it's a little strange that this is all it took for Oliver and Laurel to basically accept that the Monitor and Lyla are good people but you know at this point I'll take it cause I know the Anti-Monitor is coming and we have no more time.

Next week we're on Lian Yu which is the last page of Oliver's past and I was waiting for it though I'm not sure what the mission could be. Do we suppose we'll see Slade next week?

Assassin's Pride Episode 8

Secrets are slowly starting to come out and not just Kufa's though most of me is more interested in the fact that Melida knows about Kufa than the secret about Marquis Blossom coming out. I mean we all kind of guessed that he was a bit sketch cause the fact that so many people were dying in this town was a red flag but it looks like he might be a vampire too or if not a vampire then some sort of lycanthrope. He has been killing villagers and then running experiments on them to become lycanthropes and hiding it by pretending like there's some sort of disease running rampant as I guessed last week (the sketchy disease part not the lycanthrope part!) It also looks like Rosetti was one too and that it was actually she who was turned into a vampire 7 years ago only to go on a rampage but it also feels like somehow Blossom was able to remove that memory from her mind cause I think becoming a vampire was new to her and unlike Kufa, she was ruled by her thirst rather than her brain. She was the one killing since the Academy but it leaves me to wonder whether Kufa knew it or not and where in the world he vanished to all episode. As I mentioned up top, in order to protect Melida he had to turn into a vampire which obviously shocked Melida though I have a feeling that she won't really mind it too much. I'm still curious about whether him being a vampire effects his mana in anyway and whether that will affect Melida in turn.

The Mandalorian Season 1 Episode 4

Baby Yoda is slowly going to kill me with his cuteness because as we learned this week, he is a boy. I wonder if Mando will ever name him cause there's only so long we can call him Baby Yoda but then again Mando doesn't exactly have a name either so maybe names aren't that important in Mandalorian culture which tbh feels like a lie since in Rebels Sabine had a name and like in the Star Wars movies Bobba Fett and Jango Fett had names. Maybe it's cause Mando was a foundling so he doesn't use his name as it's not a Mandalorian one? It's not like he could have forgotten it! All this having been said and done probs doesn't matter that much but it's just a curiosity I have. I do think it's so weird though that everyone in this show keeps poking fun at Mando's helmet and how he doesn't take it off cause like you would think in this Star Wars universe that people would be more open and used to other cultures but instead everyone is acting like he'd be more free if he took it off. Like damn people mind your own business! I did love the world we visited this week and not only just cause I was so happy watching Baby Yoda live his best life. I wanted to be those little village kids feeding Baby Yoda! I also kind of liked the hints of romance between Mando and the village mom though I can imagine that other people might think it was too fast but in my opinion Mando feels like he's always looking for a home being that he's a foundling so I could see why he'd get attached to this world. I also really liked the new bounty hunter we met and I hope she comes back cause I was totally expecting her to join Mando and Baby Yoda on our journey! I still don't entirely know what the trajectory of this show is planning on being but I'm enjoying the week to week episodes so maybe it truly doesn't matter.

FINISHED Titans Season 2 Episode 13

The finale for season 2 of Titans has just aired and overall it was a fun time. I didn't love where some of our characters ended up and I do have to admit that I think I enjoyed the beginning of this season more than the end because of out-of-character writing choices that required the plot to go from point A to B but as a whole this season wasn't half bad and it was still miles ahead of season 1. I wasn't actually surprised that we managed to defeat both Slade and Cadmus in this episode but I was surprised to see that Slade was killed though if I think about it makes sense. I also do think it sucks that Jericho ended up in Rose and I'm over here like why can't we create a new Jericho body either from Rachel's powers or with Bruce's help cause obviously cloning is a thing in this world. I still feel like the Titans were too chill about Gar and Connor being mind controlled but as I expected it was Rachel who cleared the Cadmus programming and I can't tell you how thankful I was that Gar at least got five seconds of screen time to mourn what he had done cause he always gets the rough end of the stick! Donna's death came out completely nowhere cause like first of all I didn't understand why Connor didn't go and stop the pole from falling and then secondly it was just so random to kill off a main character like that. She didn't go out from Slade or Cadmus but electricity! I do wonder if she'll be back next season though cause Rachel went with her and that's weird unless she comes back to life. I also wonder if Jason will be back next season cause he came for Donna's funeral but like didn't stay and if I had to choose honestly I'd want him over Rose any day.

There is a season 3 for Titans that's been confirmed to air though we'll probs have to wait at least 6 months or longer for it. Based on the button at the end of the episode, it looks like our next villain will be Blackfire but it totally sucks that she came to Earth rather than us going to Tamaran!

Harley Quinn Season 1 Episode 1

So the first episode of Harley Quinn is out and it was such a blast to watch! I was a bit worried going into this show cause I wasn't a huge fan of Kaley Cuoco's version of Harley cause the voice acting didn't seem over-the-top enough for Harley but having watched the first episode, I think she'll grow on me even if I still do think that Kaley's Harley is too close to Harleen! The humor in this show is everything though cause it's the perfect mix of situational humor and funny dialogue and I'm all about it. One of my favorite moments was when Harley was killing all those prison guards while having a conversation with Poison Ivy about whether or not Joker loves her and whether she should leave him. Speaking of, Ivy is amazing in this show and I love her dynamic with Harley and how she's this exasperated best friend cause man oh man can I relate to her trying to talk a girl into leaving her terrible boyfriend! I also really love the idea that this show is going to be about Harley learning to be a villain on her own and I really hope there's an episode somewhere in this season where she tries to find an arch-nemesis cause you totally have to! The jokes practically write themselves! As a sidebar, the blood and gore was totally unexpected but oddly enough it adds to the whole humor of this show.

xoxo Allie
