What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Fruits Basket Season 2 Episode 3

You know what's funny? I went into this episode ready to be annoyed by the whole thing cause by now you know that Kyo's my boy so when it's a Kyo-light episode, I get a little sad but on top of that the plot of this episode was one that we had actually seen a little of in the 2001 version of this show and I remember feeling like it was filler. But true to Fruits Basket form, what started out feeling like a kinda meh episode showcased how much deeper everything was behind the placid smiles. With finally having met Kyo's father last week, we finally saw a glimpse of Yuki's mom this time around and a mention of his parents in general and it looks like they as well weren't great parents. By my count now, it's only actually Kisa that has a parent who loves her cause all the others seem to despise their zodiac kids. We knew last season that Yuki had basically grown up with Akito in a fairly abusive situation but it seems now that his parents actually sold him to Akito in order to do well themselves in what I'm assuming means that they got paid for sending Yuki to Akito and it just leaves me wondering once again why in the world Akito is so obsessed with Yuki. Poor Ayame feels horrible about how he didn't help Yuki back then but honestly he was just a kid too and he should know that Yuki probably doesn't blame him for not helping cause it's like what could Aya really have done for him? I'm also curious with the fact that Aya has basically told his assistant everything about his relationship with Yuki and he mentioned to Yuki that she's what helped him get through it all which makes me wonder if she's the Tohru to his Yuki or if she's someone he's romantically in love with.

The Flash Season 6 Episode 16

This season of The Flash is all mixed up because of everything that's going on with the world and the coronavirus so instead of the normal 22 episodes, we'll only be getting 19 which high key sucks cause I feel like this season had just been ramping up before all this went down and of all the seasons of the Flash, this was one of the ones with the most going on and needed the full episode count. Part of the problem is that I don't even know who's the villain cause Joseph Carver feels like he's the Ricardo Diaz of the season in that he was set up late in the game and feels as though he won't really be the Big Bad until next season. This week we even sent Joe into witsec and that's not something that should be fixed in six episodes. I mean Mirror Iris said it herself. Joseph Carver has every politician, police officer, and assassin on his payroll so it'll be harder than Barry just slapping some meta-cuffs on him to win the day. I'm also really confused about Eva and what her big plan is in all this. I thought at first she might be on Joseph's side and was working to help him even though he didn't know that she was still alive but by the end of the episode, it's clear that he put her into the mirror in order to keep her out of his way and to use her tech to be evil. The thing is I'm totally all for her getting her revenge on him but if that's all there is to it, why can't she work with the Flash? On the one hand she had Mirror Singh try to keep Joe safe by continuously trying to get him off of the Carver case and into witsec but then on the other she's got Mirror Iris trying to sap Barry of his remaining speed so that he can't get her and Iris out of the mirrorverse. Speaking of, I'm getting real tired of the Mirror Iris storyline and it's seriously getting embarrassing now that Barry can't tell that the woman he's with isn't his real wife.

It does look like the promo for next week is showing us that Barry finally figures out that Mirror Iris isn't the real Iris and I'll be curious to know how that happens cause Eva didn't want to help but maybe now she thinks that with Barry's speed gone that showing him that the real Iris is in the mirrorverse won't actually do anything? If that's true, she's really underestimating the genius of our Star Labs crew. Between Nash, Caitlin and Cisco, where there's a will there's a way.

Legends Of Tomorrow Season 5 Episode 9

We're back for what I'm hoping is the full and final stretch of this season without any more hiatuses since Legends had already finished production on this season before it even started airing so it shouldn't be having coronavirus issues and all I can say is that thank everything that this week's episode wasn't the cliffhanger we left on back in March cause I would have died. I was sobbing this week when poor poor Behrad was killed by one of the Fates. It was absolutely heartbreaking that he died while protecting Zari and I can't believe that I'm this upset over a character we literally just met this season but I can't help but feel like he's been around forever and not just cause we've known about Behrad since Zari first showed up whether he was on screen or not. Behrad just fit in with the Legends and I've been loving his dynamic with Zari so I'm really really hoping that when the Legends get the Loom up and running that they'll be able to bring Behrad back to life. I was also low key hoping that we would have gotten the old Zari back at some point this season but after this week between the memories and the Air Totem trip, it looks like we won't be doing much more than slightly merging this Zari with the old one after feeling the loss of her brother. Part of me is upset cause now there's still really no chance that Zari and Nate will get back together cause I'm sure romance is extremely low on Zari's priority list now but also this Zari hasn't exactly been interested in Nate like the old one which was funny at first but now is sad cause I loved the two. We also saw that the woman Astra was with in Hell was actually the third Fate like I guessed and more interestingly Sara doesn't die like more mortals after seeing the true form of a Fate which is probs because of the Lazarus Pit and if that's true, I love that callback! Also Mick and Ava did some weird daughter shenanigans and I was sitting here like of course she just wants you to be sincere with her!

The promo for next week was actually more of a mash-up of previous episodes tossed in with a few upcoming moments so I don't have much to say on that. I do wonder if we'll end up chasing some Encores rather than the final piece of the Loom given that we still have 6 episodes left and finding a Loom piece only takes one episode and we need at least one to build the Loom.

Tower Of God Episode 4

I'm literally the most confused by what's happening this week! As it turns out Anaak is another Princess Of Jahad which I sort of guessed when I figured out that she had the same type of Legendary Weapon Bam did and how we were told in episode 1 that only Princesses of Jahad receive those swords and can use them but I do really wish I knew what being a Princess meant. Why would the Princesses even bother trying to climb the Tower if they've already been knighted by King Jahad of the Tower? Are they all just women that he liked and was like okay you're a Princess now? They can't all be his daughters cause Anaak looks nothing like Yuri. On that note if Yuri was the one to have the Black March and give it to Bam, why is Anaak all up in arms about stealing it back? Are these Legendary Weapons really illegal in this tower like Khun hinted cause if so why haven't the test admins taken the weapons from Anaak and Bam yet? I also wonder how this crown game will end cause we know that neither of our main teams can actually win this game cause then they can automatically climb the Tower and like that would ruin the rest of this show but at the same time if Bam doesn't win then he has to give up Black March and I can't see that happening either. Maybe Rachel's team will end up cheating somehow and the test admins will be like you know what forget what I said about automatically moving to the top of the Tower. Speaking of Rachel, what in the hell is up with her? I don't want to hate her like it seems everyone else who watches this show does but I'm starting to dislike her more and more with how she's treating Bam. She even agreed to let her teammate murder everyone this week and it's like do you really not give a single shit about Bam anymore? Khun is still best boy for me and what a little badass with his magical briefcase!

Harley Quinn Season 2 Episode 4

This episode was the perfect example of why this show is so absolutely incredible cause it mixes the most sitcom-y situations with the craziness of villainy and Harley so we have hilarious scenes like Harley and the crew talking about Ivy's wedding while beating up Mr Freeze's goons. I'm low key pretty sure we just saw the villain origin story of Nora Fries who probably gained some sort of ice powers from the blood transfusion Mr Freeze gave her not to mention the fact that it was basically Harley's fault that he had to die. If Harley hadn't read the situation wrong then she wouldn't have unfrozen Nora thus leading her closer to death thus needing Ivy to come up with a fast solution. Instead they could have played it out a little slower and figured out a way without killing Mr Freeze. Oops oh well. It's still hilarious that Ivy and Kiteman are getting married and I can't help but wonder if Harley will also end up with some random villain cause her comic canon relationships are always either Joker or Ivy and with neither being an option in this show and the focus on this episode being love and Harley's discovery that she could find love one day, I can't see her ending up alone in the end. Maybe Deadshot?

What Dramas Am I Watching This Week?

So here's what I'm watching this week! Of course the list is split by country and the amount of episodes I've seen so far are written below! There will be spoilers from now on so if you aren't caught to the episode number on list, you might want to go watch that episode and then come back! If you're interested in previous reviews, click here and if you want to see a list of my Favorite Asian OTPs and Ships, click here!

KDRAMA

365: Repeat The Year (20/24): A story where ten people get the chance to go back in time by one year, but unexpectedly mysterious situations start to arise when their fates are changed and twisted in the process. Ji Hyung Joo is a detective in the violent crimes division. He used to be part of the traffic police but was promoted when he arrested a wanted criminal. It's been seven years since the change, and he's a talented individual who always knows how to relax. Though he is happy at first to have the chance to go back in time by one year and "reset" his life, he begins to search for the truth when a series of mysterious events befall on the group of people he goes back in time with.

I'm torn this week about how I feel cause on the one hand I'm heartbroken that the serial killer ended up being Sun Ho cause I adored his relationship with Hyung Jo but on the other I'm so proud for having guessed the killer correctly! I know some people get pissed when a murder mystery show all but lays out the clues for you before the reveal but I personally think that's the best type of writing cause big twists should be visible in hindsight not out of nowhere to shock the viewers. Unlike with Memorist, the mystery here is understandable and easy enough to follow along with which is why it's so fun to watch. When a story is too convoluted, you're just wading through a pool of confusion and who wants that?? I still don't entirely understand how Sun Ho managed to kill the first few victims and make it look like such clear accidents especially the victim that died of a heart attack but I'm too far in the game to care now! It's also interesting that he figured out the truth of the reset before Hyung Jo told him and that he used it to pick his targets but I'm still really confused about Lee Shin's role in all this cause once again how does any of this help her daughter? I wondered for a second if Sun Ho would go kill Lee Shin cause she was the only one to know the truth of who he was but maybe he's saving her for later or he's worried that it'll be hard to grab her. Either way I think Hyung Jo was smart for letting himself be arrested cause obviously Sun Ho is trying to pin the whole thing on Hyung Jo and if Hyung Jo is in the police station then he has the perfect alibi so that Sun Ho has to stop killing or else his whole staging ploy will be for nothing. I can't imagine how horrible Hyung Jo feels about all this cause it was basically all his fault that all the other resetters died since he saved a serial killer.
A Piece Of Your Mind (10/12): An innovator in the world of artificial intelligence programming, Moon Ha Won has made quite a name for himself in the AI industry. The founder and brain behind the popular portal site, M&H, Ha Won is a man everyone knows. A man devoted to his work, everyone knows he doesn’t take what he does lightly and expects his employees to follow suit, but he’s also known as a kindhearted, rational thinker, who never gets angry and never loses his cool. An ideal man, with a soft heart, Ha Won believes that when it comes to love, having even a small fraction of his love’s heart is enough to sustain him. But that theory is put to the test when Han Seo Woo wanders into his world. A classical music recording engineer, Seo Woo hasn’t had the easiest life. With no family to support her, and no place to call home, Seo Woo has spent the majority of her life wandering and alone. Despite her difficulties, Seo Woo has managed to keep an open and optimistic mindset, believing that all things happen for a reason. Wandering down the path life has laid before her, Seo Woo soon finds herself crossing paths with Ha Won. As the two begin a journey together, they come to find that sometimes two different halves really can make a whole.

Can you believe that the finale for this show is next week? It's so funny cause when I love a drama I'm always shocked when it comes to an end unlike when I hate a drama and I'm like is it STILL going?? With the shortened season, the plot is flying from one point to another at lightning speed. Ha Won and Seo decided to date, and live together in the course of two episodes and yet it's been 10 and we're still dancing around the fact that In Wook was Ji Soo's husband! My emotions are all over the place after this week and I don't know where to start. In Wook as it turns out just randomly hated Ha Won back in the day (and the show made a point of highlighting the fact that there was no real reason why In Wook hated him) and because of that he told Ha Won's mom that Ha Won was coming home so she waited for him and died in a snow storm rather than going to a shelter. After Ji Soo found out she wasn't sure if Ha Won should know or not and sent letters to Ha Won and Soon Ho's grandmother but the letters weren't found until now. What pisses me off more than In Wook's actions (cause I get that he was a kid and probs didn't mean for her to die) is the way everyone and their mother is trying to "manage" Ha Won from Soon Ho to Hoon to even Seo Woo. I hate that everyone knew everything before him and that Soon Ho in particular chose In Wook's side but blamed the whole thing on "love" and fate being a bitch. Like girl please Ha Won isn't pissed at In Wook cause he's Ji Soo's husband but because he knows that In Wook knows something about his mom's death and I don't care if In Wook had zero part in her death, Ha Won has the right to ask! Soon Ho had been annoying from the moment she appeared on this show and she's just been continuously getting worse. Like who picks a guy they've met for like a few months over a family member they've known for 14 years??
FINISHED Coffee Prince (17/17): Choi Han Gyul is the grandson of chairwoman Bang of Dong-in Foods, a company that has a thriving coffee business. He has never had a job and does not care for responsibility. Han Gyul is hung up on his first love, Han Yoo Joo, who only sees him as a friend.Go Eun Chan is a 24-year-old tomboy who is often mistaken for a guy. Her father died when she was 16 years old and since then she has taken over as the breadwinner in her family. When Han Kyul and Eun Chan meet, he, not knowing that she is a girl, decides to hire her to pretend to be his gay lover so that he can escape the blind dates arranged by his grandmother. After getting an ultimatum from his grandmother, Han Gyul takes over a rundown old coffee shop, later renamed "Coffee Prince," to prove that he's capable, both to his grandmother and to Yoo Joo. In order to attract female customers, he only hires good-looking male employees. Eun Chan, desperate for money, continues to hide her gender to get a job at Coffee Prince.

Having watched Mary Stayed Out All Night last week, I felt that it was only fair to check out other oldies but goodies and this is another one of those classics that I heard was a must-watch but I was hesitant cause honestly guys I'm starting not to love all the drama troupes that I thought were kinda funny when I first started watching dramas. I've never really been a huge fan of body swaps or gender swaps but I figured why not try anyway and overall it was a mixed bag. I ended up enjoying this drama more than I thought but it took until the secret came out about Eun Chan before I did. I had hardcore SLS during the first half of this drama and idk the way Han Gyul treated Eun Chan was kinda gross even though I know logically that he thought she was a dude but once he found out the truth and Han Sung got back with Yoo Joo, I started to see why people thought this show was so cute and why they shipped the main leads. I did totally understand Han Gyul's anger cause Eun Chan really was selfish about the whole thing and once the other guys in the coffee house starting figuring it out one-by-one, she really should have told Han Gyul the truth. It's always better to come out with the truth earlier rather than later! All the guys in the coffee house were pretty cute though I wasn't a huge fan of any of their love lines but I did love that despite Han Gyul coming from a rich family that there was practically no monster-in-law antics. His family was actually really sweet and despite a few hiccups, they gave Eun Chan the chance she deserved to prove to them that she was more than a simple gold digger or someone who was using Han Gyul. The ending was super cute though it was kinda hilarious how Eun Chan still didn't want to get married after two years. Overall I'd give this show a 9 / 10.
Find Me In Your Memory (22/32): The story revolves around a man with hyperthymesia, a condition that gives people the ability to remember an abnormally vast amount of their life experiences in vivid detail, and a woman who has forgotten the most important moments of her life. The two people with similar scars fatefully cross paths one day and come to love each other. Jung Hoon is an anchor of a news show which has the highest ratings. Jung Hoon’s handsome face and perfect body figure make him look good in a suit. Unlike his gentle appearances, he becomes a tyrant all of a sudden and starts asking aggressive questions to whoever it is. Because of hyperthymesia, he remembers every single thing happening in 365 days a year ever since his childhood. He can’t forget the memory of the woman he loved, Seo Yeon, who disappeared 8 years ago. A rising star who attracts everyone’s attention, Ha Jin, appears in front of Jung Hoon at that moment. Despite all the attention, Ha Jin doesn’t waver and keeps her confidence. However, she has a secret that her memory is fading away. The man who cannot forget and the woman whose memory is fading away. Will they be able to overcome their difficulties, understand each other, and fall in love at the end?

We finally wrapped up the whole stalker storyline and now we're moving into much deeper and darker territory in terms of plot and this is what I wanted from this show even if part of me just wants to live in the happy bubble that is Jung Hoon and Ha Jin happily dating! In terms of the stalker, it was Director Ji and I actually laughed out loud when it turned out to be him cause it's like poor Ji Il Joo is pretty much typecast as the stalker villain type role in everything and like part of it is how good he is at being creepy but it sucks for him cause every time I see him on screen I'm like that's him he's the bad guy! We also finally learned why Yoo Sung Hyuk is so sketchy and as it turns out he's planning on writing a book on Jung Hoon and basically exposing him to the world to make bank and all I can think is that can't be legal right? Jung Hoon can totally sue him for doctor/patient confidentially or something right? Anyway Yoo is pissed now cause Jung Hoon is dating Ha Jin and in his book Yoo's basically been claiming that Jung Hoon will never get over his first love aka Seo Yeon cause that's the way hyperthymesia works but with Jung Hoon dating someone else, it makes him look like a liar or incompetent. He's obviously going to try to break them up somehow but Jung Hoon thought about it over and over and I don't think anything will change his mind now unless Ha Jin leaves him so I don't exactly worry about Yoo. Tae Eun is also worried but more for Ha Jin's sake cause he's afraid that if she remembers Seo Yeon that she'll become suicidal again but like I said before I really think that this time will be different cause Jung Hoon will be by her side. In terms of his feelings I really do think that he's no longer in love with Seo Yeon cause the way his illness works means that he can remember all his memories perfectly but that has nothing to do with his emotions. Emotions can change and grow and I think that the more time he spends with Ha Jin, the more he's falling in love.
Hospital Playlist Season 1 (7/12): A drama depicting the stories of people going through their days that seemingly ordinary but actually special, at the hospital, a place known as the microcosm of life - where someone is being born and someone's life meets their ending. The five doctors are long time friends of 20 years who started their undergrad in 1999 in the same medical school, and now they are colleagues in the same hospital. The drama will also deal with a story of a band formed by the group of doctors.

I can't help but feel like nothing actually happened this week and that makes my review feel a little empty and strange. Ik Jun helped a patient realize that her husband cheating isn't the end of the world and used his own marriage as a metaphor. It super sucks that the show is clearly setting him and Song Hwa up cause like I said I loved him and Ah Ra but given that she hasn't appeared again since her cameo, I don't think she was meant to be more than a funny moment. Jun Wan and Ik Sun are happily dating and it's funny cause Jun Wan is much more dorky than I expected him to be when he's into a girl and I keep wavering about whether I think it's funny or weird that he's hiding it from Ik Jun. I also really expected more from the whole golf bribing pharmaceutical thing than we ended up getting but I really should have thought that Jun Wan would be smart and never get caught up in something like that. I was also disappointed that though the episode started with a focus on Min Ha and the fact that she was about to be fighting with another resident, that the episode didn't actually follow that. It would have been really interesting to have another look at what makes the best doctor: someone who spends all her time connecting to patients or someone who works hard in order to make sure that they get treated before they get comforted. I did really like the whole thing with Suk Hyung's mom though and a bigger part of me than probably is okay is like yes girl refuse to divorce his ass and make society hate him and his mistress and their kid cause I'm vengeful like that. I'm also fascinated with how it looks like next week we might be focusing a little more on the residents and their life problems cause most medical shows barely have the time to focus on their leads let alone the side characters.
Memorist (14/16): Dong Baek has an extraordinary ability. He can peer into the memories of whoever he touches. With his supernatural power, get it done attitude, and eye-pleasing looks, he is fervently revered worldwide as a superstar detective. However, when his punches meet with suspects before words, he can be a bit of a headache to his comrades. Starting from the age of twenty, Han Sun Mi is the youngest to have passed the bar exam, obtain a doctorate in criminal psychology, and become a senior superintendent in the police force. Having solved five cold cases that even a detective with supernatural powers couldn't do, she is a genius profiler. She has a secret that drives her to do what she does. These two highly-skilled professionals meet their match—a serial killer with abilities that transcend theirs combined. It's going to be a fight worth watching.

The problem with this show as I've stated over and over has been with it's writing and though I do have to say that the best part of a murder mystery is always when the detectives figure out what's going on, a good murder mystery will reveal small pieces of information as the mystery builds rather than save it all until the end which is kinda what I'm feeling about the reveals this week. It's honestly irritating as hell that some of the main players in this game haven't even appeared until now! Let's start with what we learned. About 40 years ago Min Jae Gyu's mom was killed by his half sister Hwang Pil Seon and then 20 years later her son Bang Joon Seok along with 7 of his other friends raped and killed Yoo Ah Yeong and then killed Moon Yong Kang's brother. The deaths were covered up with the help of Deputy Chief Lee and a few others and so The Eraser as it turns out was Yoo Ah Yeong's father aka the fire station chief that we met a few episodes back and has been working with Min Jae Gyu and Bang Joon Seok in order to get their revenge on the people that ruined their lives. We still don't know how The Eraser is connected to Baek or why he's obsessed with taking him down other than the fact that his abilities might expose his identity but I'm low key worried that it'll have to be thrown in the same never be answered pile as to why the reporters all hate Baek too. Like the reveal that Deputy Chief Lee was talking out of his ass about Baek being The Eraser makes total sense cause he's in Hwang Pil Seon's pocket and she's pissed that he has his powers so for them it's better that he dies but the reporters have nothing to do with Baek and all we got was some flimsy excuse about how Baek makes them look bad or something weeks ago. The best part of this week though was Se Hoon being the complete angel he is and can I just say that I'm so thankful that he's going to end this show as a good person who loves Baek and not another heartbreaking evil cop partner like in 365: Repeat The Year???
Meow, The Secret Boy/Welcome (20/24): A graphic designer in her mid-twenties, Sol Ah harbors dreams of becoming a web-based comic author and has always had a love-hate relationship with cats. But Sol Ah’s life changes fast when she brings home a friendly feline. It turns out, however, that this is not any old cat. Named Hong Jo, he can take human form. Hong Jo becomes exceptionally fond of So Ah, and goes to great pains to hide his human identity from her. He soon proves that he will do anything that is required in order to stay near her. Will Hong Jo manage to keep his identity a secret? And what could be in store for this remarkable feline-human duo as their relationship deepens?

After this week I wonder if this drama bit off more than it could chew. I think some writer was like "you know what would be fun? If I did a reverse Fruits Basket situation where instead of a human cursed to be a cat, if it was a cat that turned into a human!" I say this cause I can't help but feel like this show is going to have one of two endings. Either it'll be one of those super vague notes where it's like well all the problems we laid out earlier are real and everything but we're just going to ignore them so we can say the finale is a happy one and it won't matter what will happen in the future cause you won't see it or there's going to be some sort of deus ex machina to turn Hong Jo into a human permanently. I can't decide if one option is better or worse than the other. The one thing I hated about Search: WWW was the main couple who refused to agree on the whole marriage idea and it's like on the one hand I get the idea of living for the here and now and not the future but at the same time you can't ignore the future entirely! On the other a sudden magical way to turn Hong Jo fully human would be annoying cause it was never seeded earlier! Maybe it would have been best if Sol Ah never fell in love with Hong Jo and if she ended up with Jae Sun so that Hong Jo was just there to be her spirit guide of a kind. Are we supposed to believe that once Hong Jo dies that Sol Ah and Jae Sun will get back together? I also can't help but feel like the reveal was waaay too late in the game cause the finale for this show is next week and we barely got any antics from Sol Ah and Hong Jo and the whole human/cat thing!
Rugal (8/16): Kang Ki Beom is an elite police officer whose attempt to bring down Argos, a nationwide criminal organization, results in a group of masked assailants from Argos killing his beloved wife and child and cutting out both of his eyes. Kang wakes up in a hospital only to find himself accused of murdering his family members. The NIS then approaches him with an offer to become a member of Rugal, a special team organized by the NIS. He receives two artificial eyes with Rugal's biotechnology built into them and with them gains unique new abilities with which to take down criminal organizations. Kang Ki Beom and Rugal set out on a mission to wipe out Argos.

We're halfway through this show and I'm disappointed to say that this show isn't anything like what I hoped it would be at the start. Maybe I should get used to the idea that kdramas never actually do revenge stories the way I like. They seem to enjoy constantly having the heroes with their backs to the wall and barely hanging on by a thread only to make an astounding win in the final episode and it's exhausting cause I get tired of watching the villain be this omnipresent force that knows all. Every single move Rugal makes, Deuk Goo has already seen, studied and counterattacked and it's like why can't we have one show where the heroes are the ones to be setting up things behind the scenes and attacking in small doses before leading to a big win? It's like Mi Na said this week, Rugal has done absolutely nothing since they started except for loose their doctor, expose their tech, and show Argos everyone who's alive and working at Rugal. Even Ki Beom working with Ye Won was exposed this week and even if the show is trying to tell me that it was Ki Beom's decision to burn that bridge, what was the point? Rugal gained nothing and actually lost a piece from their board! It still feels like Deuk Goo has no bigger plan in place other than creating chaos but we learned this week that he might actually be in love with Ye Won and I high key want her to use Ki Beom and make Deuk Goo marinate in his jealously but I'm not sure if Ki Beom "working" with Ye Won will continue now that everything's been outed. Then again Deuk Goo never told Ye Won how he knows Ki Beom and how he's a cop so maybe there's still a chance? It was also interesting to find out that Mi Na and the Chief have known each other for years and that he was like a father to her.

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Fruits Basket Season 2 Episode 2

Though I did enjoy the season 2 premiere episode, this week's episode felt like a truer return to form for this show with the way it told a fairly lighthearted story at first glance but when you looked deeper, you saw how dark it actually was. The focus of the episode was on the kids and what their plans for the future were which shouldn't have been all that interesting but it ended up foreshadowing a lot of darkness. The way everyone reacted makes me feel like the zodiac spirits won't have the freedom to choose what they want but that Akito might tell them what they should do. A part of me looks towards the older zodiacs and sees that they do have a little more freedom than what I expected cause I mean Shigure lives out of the family compound and Aya owns a store and Hatori is a doctor but of course we know that Shigure has a special relationship with Akito so maybe he's not the standard and we don't know if Hatori always wanted to be a doctor or if he was forced into doing so cause the Sohmas needed a doctor. Kyo meanwhile is in a world of his own having been the cat spirit. I was curious after learning about the previous cat spirits as to why Kyo was allowed to roam free but this week it seems that the plan is for him to be confined until death after he graduates so maybe cat spirits are allowed to be out and about until they finish school or maybe Akito despite what we think is actually kinder than previous family heads and allowed Kyo special treatment. Either way we finally met Kyo's birth father outside of being a shadowy figure in Kyo's nightmares and he's just as horrible as we expected. It looks like Kyo's mom might have committed suicide by jumping in front of a train and Kyo's dad blames Kyo for it and is wracked with anxiety and anger but I love that Kazuma was able to stand up for Kyo cause despite everything, he's Kyo's real father genetics be damned. I also want to mention that there were a ton of cute Kyo and Tohru moments but the scene where Tohru opened up to Kyo about her anxieties was the most important cause it shows you once again why Kyo is the man for Tohru. He's the only one that helps her with her problems and because of that she is able to more than just her cheery self.

      Tower Of God Episode 3

There's definitely something more to Rachel than we know and I can't help but wonder if Khun has the right of it about her. Why would Rachel leave Bam like he meant nothing to her when she could have just asked him to join her in climbing the Tower? I mean now we know that people are climbing the Tower in groups (even though I'm sure eventually they'll have to duke it out so only one person wins) but from the start there was nothing in the rules that mentioned that you had to climb alone. It also doesn't help that she beat the first test after she and two others slaughtered hundreds of people. We got more of Khun's backstory this week and I really feel bad for him though I'm not sure if we know the whole story yet. Apparently he loved a woman named Maria (who may or may not be his half sister which um ew) but she tossed him aside to be Princess and cause of that his whole family was either killed or exiled and I'm guessing that he's climbing the Tower in order to get back at her or to get his family pardoned. Part of him hates Bam for being the same naive person he was back then but part of him also wants to protect Bam cause he hasn't lived through betrayal yet. I was really excited that we finally are getting another test that requires fighting cause I feel like we haven't had any of that yet but I'm not sure why no one asked what happens if you lose the Crown Game. If you win you automatically get to climb the Tower but if you lose are you kicked out of the Tower or are you just returning to the staging area and taking the regular tests? I'm also still really curious about the sword that Anaak has and why not only does it sing to Bam's sword but whether she's a Princess too cause I thought that the type of sword Bam has (and in turn Anaak) really only belong to the Princesses.

      Riverdale Season 4 Episode 17

We're finally back after a month long hiatus and it low key feels like we had a midseason break or like we're starting a new season cause it's been so long! Returning on a musical episode does feel kinda weird though cause I was more interested in learning more about our characters and where they were and where they would be going after the whole Stonewall thing was put to bed but instead we got a lot of screen time for our cast singing kinda subpar songs that I didn't know well. Unlike when a show like The Magicians did their musical episodes, the cast of Riverdale actually aren't that good at singing and the songs they pick are never ones I know so I can't even enjoy the musical numbers. Hedwig was the musical of choice this time around and as it went Kevin wanted to perform it at the variety show but Principal Honey thought that it wasn't right for school and honestly it's hilarious cause everything Honey does this season that's supposed to be ruining our Riverdale cast's fun is actually the most realistic things in this show. Of course a high school in a small town doesn't want a musical like Hedwig performed on stage! Of course a cheerleading team needs a coach who's going to be teaching actual cheers rather than just singing and dancing! I guess the more important news though is the Betty and Archie kiss and the fact that I'm pretty sure that they're going to become a couple soon. Honestly you all know I'm a Bughead shipper but maybe it's cause I watch so many teen dramas and I know that those kinds of shows likes to switch partners a lot so I'm not all that upset with this idea. I still think Bughead is endgame so if the show wants to play around with Barchie for a bit before returning to Bughead, I'm fine with that but I don't know if I love the whole cheating thing. If the two are really so into each other, they should break up with their current partners. In other news that weird videotape voyeur came back and sent hours of video that he/she took in front of random Riverdale houses to the homes of our Riverdale cast and I still think that it'll end up being Charles and Chic cause we're still sitting on what their sketchy plan was from earlier this season.

Even though we just came back we're going to be skipping next week so the next episode of Riverdale will air in two weeks and the promo really just shows more of Betty and Archie cheating on their partners and I'm just sitting here cackling and ready for all the drama and angst to come.

Harley Quinn Season 2 Episode 3

It was great seeing Catwoman this week but ironically I was glad to see her go even though she's always been one of my fav Batman characters! I think it just had to do with the fact that Ivy seemed to lose everything that she was around her but I suppose it was a good thing that she made Ivy think about who she was and what she wanted. It's been a while since Ivy got to do her eco-terrorism thing and though it's probs majorly chalked up to the fact that Ivy is a supporting character on this show, Ivy actually doesn't need to bend over backwards to do everything Harley wants and never have time to do what she wants especially since she's not actually one of Harley's henchmen. Having said that, I don't agree with Selina's take on Ivy's friends and needing to be solo cause Ivy's gone through a lot since this show started and I think she's a much better person for having met those she had and no one should have a say in her relationship with Kiteman cause if she likes him then that's enough. I did love though that Harley was finally able to see there was more to him than his initial lameness (as we all eventually did) though I'm not entirely sure if I'm down for the two getting married cause it just feels like it should have just been a joke but instead it's like happening for real! Everything that happened back in the mall was hilarious too and how Riddler caused the crew to go in circles for hours only to be like I actually don't want to escape right now.

      KDRAMA

365: Repeat The Year (16/24): A story where ten people get the chance to go back in time by one year, but unexpectedly mysterious situations start to arise when their fates are changed and twisted in the process.

I'm high key so proud of myself for having guessed everything last week. Everyone was dead in the original timeline but Lee Shin saved them in her last reset in order to use them for the current one and this is all connected to her daughter who's sick. The thing I don't get is how the deaths relate to her daughter. She claims she wants to see if these people can fight fate but she's already proved that she can stop their deaths so what can she figure out in this current timeline? And how does that help her daughter? None of them are connected to her daughter's illness and something like an illness can't be fixed with fate. We lost Se Rin and Jung Tae this week and I'm low key worried that it was Sun Ho who did both. Like what if he's on Jae Young's father's payroll (killing two people who messed with the ministry appointment) and the reason he died in the timeline before our current reset was Lee Shin's way of saving Se Rin and Jung Tae and even Hyung Joo cause maybe after losing his mentor, Hyung Joo became a recluse and avoided the situation that would have killed him. It's also possible that I'm totally wrong and he's only just on Lee Shin's payroll cause as Ga Hyun figured out this week, the only way for Lee Shin to have known how each of the resetters died is if someone had an in at the police station. Either way he's sending up red flags for me! I'm also really curious how Jung Tae had the files of Min Ho being bullied and whether what he sent to Hyung Joo had to do with Jae Young and the other kids he bullied (as Jung Tae threatened to do) or if it has something to do with Lee Shin. We've got two weeks left of this show and I can't wait to see what this show throws at me next!
A Piece Of Your Mind (8/12): An innovator in the world of artificial intelligence programming, Moon Ha Won has made quite a name for himself in the AI industry.

Things are starting to move a little faster between Seo Woo and Ha Won though if you're asking me, it's still not fast enough! Having said that I'm feeling all the butterflies Seo Woo is when Ha Won holds her hand or asks her to stay around him! He's just so smooth for a man who's never dated before! But seriously guys I love the way they are together and how happy they are even just looking at each other. It's also so cute that they only sleep well when they're near each other but neither of the two blockheads realized for almost 2 whole episodes that it was each other that helped them feel safe not the house or the blankets. He's helped her be able to move past her parents' death and she's helped him move on from Ji Soo. I do have to say that I awkwardly keep waiting for the other shoe to drop just like Seo Woo but rather than with Ha Won, I'm sure it'll happen with In Wook. I thought that after Ha Won deleted Ji Soo's voice files from his computer that would be the end of the Ji Soo AI but as it turns out, he still kept a copy in his house next to the Ha Won copy and I'm just waiting for Seo Woo to accidentally turn it on around In Wook and have him have a meltdown cause the man is like one step away from one constantly. I'm hoping that Seo Woo accidentally grabbed the Ha Won one but in order for the drama to happen, it'll probs be Ji Soo. I'm also really not a fan of anything that's been happening with Soon Ho tbh and I really don't care about her crush on In Wook. In other news the breakup with Eun Joo and Chang Sup was actually a good thing cause I do think that he treated her terribly and she deserved better. What I was surprised about was the fact that the woman I thought was Chang Sup's mom actually was just some random woman who knew Eun Joo in the past so thankfully we don't have any in-law problems! Her story is absolutely heartbreaking of course but it's crazy how intertwined everyone's lives are cause she's a patient of Ha Won's basically but living with Seo Woo.
Find Me In Your Memory (18/32): The story revolves around a man with hyperthymesia, a condition that gives people the ability to remember an abnormally vast amount of their life experiences in vivid detail, and a woman who has forgotten the most important moments of her life.

We only got two episodes this week instead of the normal four because of scheduling conflicts in Korea which high key sucks cause you all know that this is one of the three shows this season (alongside 365: Repeat The Year and A Piece Of Your Mind) that I'm constantly looking forward to especially since the cliffhanger this week was absolutely crazy! Ha Jin finally reported the stalker to the police this week and Reporter Park turned himself in for getting paid to send Ha Jin's photos to her stalker though they left out the threatening letters to Jung Hoon cause it would have been useless in terms of evidence anyway. The show is still focusing on either Chul or Director Ji as the best candidates for the stalker but I can't decide if it'll end up being one of them or if they're just red herrings. We do know that the stalker is someone who knew Ha Jin before her debut which makes me think that it might not be either of them and actually someone from Ha Jin's past that she's forgotten and now that she's slowly remembering it that she'll remember who the stalker is too. Some people think it might end up being Tae Eun but honestly I super doubt that cause he's never actually sent up red flags for me cause he's just so sweet of a friend to Jung Hoon. I did like that this week Jung Hoon finally made the decision to try to be happy and let go of Seo Yeon cause despite what Seo Yeon's stalker thought Seo Yeon, if she was looking down on them, would want Jung Hoon to be happy and if it was with her best friend that would be even better. His mother's letter almost made me cry and it was exactly the push he needed to call Ha Jin. I'm totally excited to see where this show goes next cause I have a feeling that now that Jung Hoon is ready to be with Ha Jin, she's going to remember Seo Yeon and push Jung Hoon away and it's going to be totally heartbreaking!
Hospital Playlist Season 1 (5/12): A drama depicting the stories of people going through their days that seemingly ordinary but actually special, at the hospital, a place known as the microcosm of life - where someone is being born and someone's life meets their ending. The five doctors are long time friends of 20 years who started their undergrad in 1999 in the same medical school, and now they are colleagues in the same hospital. The drama will also deal with a story of a band formed by the group of doctors.

We're now halfway through the first season of this show and this whole slice of life thing is really working for me. I'm not exactly emotionally attached to this show like some of the others this season but I do love how lighthearted it feels and how it's like we're actually popping in and out of other people's lives rather than believing that nothing happens unless we're watching. There were so many great moments this week that I don't know which to pick. When Song Hwa told the others about her lump, I loved seeing how worried all the friends were and how much they love her. It was super sweet that Ik Jun went with her to get the results and that all the friends showed up as soon as they got to the hospital to find out how she was. Honestly though it was a little surprising cause I totally did expect all of them to be in the waiting room with her but the fact that it was only Ik Jun alongside the flashback that showed that he was into Song Hwa back then too brings me back to wondering if the show wants to pair up Song Hwa and Ik Jun. This low key sucks cause last week I was finally moving past the idea that one of the four guys would end up with her like in the Reply series and I'm honestly not thrilled with the idea of this pair cause I've been adoring Ik Jun and Ah Ra together. The other amazing moment was when Ik Sun finally agreed to date Jun Wan and it was absolutely adorable how much he freaked out in excitement. I am worried about that golfing trip he took with that sketchy doctor though and the preview for next week really makes me think that it might be bad. I also low key didn't realize that Min Ha and Gyeo Wool became best friends after all those meetings to learn about their bosses but it was super sweet when Min Ha stayed up all night watching over Gyeo Wool when she got sick.
FINISHED Mary Stayed Out All Night/Marry Me Mary (16/16): Wi Mae Ri is the cheerful, pragmatic daughter of a failed businessman who had grown used to being constantly on the move to escape from debtors. She becomes fast friends with the free-spirited indie singer, Kang Moo Kyul, when she nearly ran him over in a car. Meanwhile, her father, Wi Dae Han, is saved from his debtors by his old friend, Jung Suk, who had just returned from considerable success in the Japanese entertainment industry. Jung Suk, who had harboured a secret love for Mae Ri's mother, sets up a deal with Dae Han to have Mae Ri marry his son, Jung In. In a desperate attempt to escape this predicament, Mae Ri begs Moo Kyul to pose as her husband, and finds herself in even more trouble than before when her father proposes a 100-day period in which she has to divide her time equally between Moo Kyul and Jung In, after which she has to decide who to marry.

This has been on my to be watched list ever since I got into dramas cause I've heard that it's one of the few that are is a staple if you watch kdramas and I finally got around to it but I'm so mixed about what I feel. I absolutely loved the first half of this drama and if it had ended there I would have been screaming about this is one of my fav dramas of all time but as the show went on, I started to get more and more tired. It wasn't even the parents that bugged me cause I sort of expected backlash from them since that was the show's concept. It was Mae Ri herself that started to drive me crazy. Look here's the thing. I did adore her overall character and I think she was absolutely cute as a button and her chemistry with Moo Kyul was off the charts but there's a point where you've gotta grow a damn backbone and put your foot down. I'm serious. I understand the whole filial piety thing to a degree but forging marriage licenses without your permission, and kidnapping your boyfriend is too far not to mention how much slack she gave Jung In even after she and Moo Kyul started dating. I mean can you even imagine if the roles were reversed and Moo Kyul was the one to tell Mae Ri that he'd be spending half his nights with another woman? Ugh. Moo Kyul was a saint for not having run for the hills ages ago! Having said that every single moment that Moo Kyul and Mae Ri were together more than made up for any struggles I had. I loved that she picked the poor guy over the rich one. I loved that they had so much in common with missing one parent and having a crazy one for their living parent but that it shaped them in different ways. Moo Kyul was able to finally have a family with her and he gave her the freedom and ability to dream that she craved. I loved that they didn't shy away from touching each other (and I don't mean kisses but simple things like holding hands or putting an arm around the other) and it was so romantic that they wrote a song together! I really struggled to rate this cause like I said Mae Ri and Moo Kyul were much too good together to not want to rate this show high but I also can't ignore how pissed I was with Mae Ri in the final third of this show so in the end I guess I'd give it a 7.5 / 10!
Memorist (12/16): Dong Baek has an extraordinary ability.

For some odd reason this show is obsessed with the idea that Baek might not be the good guy that he claims he is. For so many episodes at the start of the show we had to watch Sun Mi be suspicious of Baek and now we're really supposed to believe that Baek might have been the Eraser all along? Oh please. It's totally possible that Baek was in the warehouse with Deputy Chief Lee as another one of The Eraser's victims but I highly doubt that he's been the one murdering people especially since we actually saw him fight the guy who shot Jae Gyu and we saw someone kidnap the firefighter while Baek was elsewhere. I knew from almost the start that Lee was not the Eraser though cause his body build wasn't the same as the Eraser's and the more I watch of this show the more I wonder if maybe the Eraser is a woman after all. The person on the roof was thin and the voice modulator they were using seemed to be going back and forth between a woman's and a man's and if The Eraser was a man, why bother throwing in a female voice to confuse the others? It's not like Baek or Sun Mi think that a woman is the Eraser so who cares? I also don't love that we're two weeks from the finale and we still don't know anything about what's going on since the theory that we came up with this week might not even make sense anymore with Moon not being the Eraser. It's totally possible that he's pretending to throw Baek and Sun Mi off cause I do like the idea that The Eraser is after everyone who hurt his brother. The seven kids that beat him to death, the cop and medical examiner that covered it up not to mention everyone in the police force or politicians or reporters that hid the big murder spree.
Meow, The Secret Boy/Welcome (16/24): A graphic designer in her mid-twenties, Sol Ah harbors dreams of becoming a web-based comic author and has always had a love-hate relationship with cats.

This week's episodes made me all itchy with anticipation cause all I wanted was for Hong Jo to tell Sol Ah the truth about who he was! I don't mind that he's a cat and she's a human. I don't like the lying and just when he was about to, he gets terrible news about why he shouldn't and then Jae Sun is adding onto that and so he's still lying! That's why I'm super looking forward to next week cause it looks like the truth finally comes out! What's super sucky though is how Jae Sun is starting to go from a sweet guy to the second male lead who tries to control the female lead and forbids the male lead from being around her. It's none of his business whether Hong Jo tells Sol Ah about who he is or if she chooses to be with him despite that or if she turns him away! Despite that his exasperation with Hong Jo was everything this week like when he was annoyed that Hong Jo wasn't working only to lure in female customers with his cuteness to when he was annoyed that Hong Jo was treating his whole house as a cat tower. Jae Sun is honestly such a tsundere though in the cutest way cause he talks all about how he doesn't like Hong Jo but he was the one to run around looking for him when Hong Jo was catnapped and then tried to build him a cat tower for fun. I am worried though about this idea that Hong Jo is going to age faster than Sol Ah and it's especially weird that the show is making it seem like cats live for 1 year when they live for around 16 so it's not like Hong Jo is going to turn into a grandfather in the next few months! I thought that maybe there would be some sort of "true love's first kiss" magic that would change Hong Jo into a human but Sol Ah and Hong Jo already had their first kiss and nothing happened. I can't imagine this show is going to end tragically based on the tone of this show so far so there's gotta be a magical deus ex machina incoming!
FINISHED My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho (16/16): Cha Dae Woong is a carefree university student who dreams of becoming a famous actor. He is an orphan whose wealthy grandfather Cha Poong and aunt Cha Min Sook take care of him. However, Dae Woong and his grandfather always bicker because of Dae Woong's careless spending and career choice. One day, while running away from his angry grandfather, Dae Woong visits a temple and accidentally sets free a Gumiho, nine-tailed fox, who was trapped in a painting for about 500 years. Dae Woong, who was frightened and trying to run away, severely injured himself, but the Gumiho, who took the form of a beautiful woman, saved him. In exchange, the Gumiho then asked him to help her become human and teach her how to act like one. As time goes by, their mutual relationship grew deeper as they start to fall for each other.

I started this drama cause I adore both Lee Seung Gi and Shin Min Ah so I was interested to see a show with the two of them together. It reminded me a lot of Legend Of The Blue Sea cause they had a lot of similarities especially with the overall story of a magical creature falling in love with a human so they follow the human around and then they fall in love. If I'm being honest though, I do think Legend Of The Blue Sea was a lot better done because something about this show I just couldn't connect to. Maybe it's cause everything was so lighthearted and played for laughs that I just watched this lightly without attaching myself to it. I did love Dae Woong as a character though he played tsundere for a lot longer than I expected him to but he was of course the kind of cold male lead I adored where he said something mean but not only did he never actually do anything mean but actually he did sweet things for the female lead behind her back and was very kind. Mi Ho was absolutely adorable as the female lead and Min Ah played her to perfection. I could totally believe that people were falling for her left and right. I think the two had tons of chemistry together but I think my struggle was that I low key wished that she would have gotten with the second male lead cause their story interested me more despite him not being the nicest guy. The more I watch older kdramas the more I find myself struggling to not only enjoy them but not to have SLS and it makes me wonder what it is about them that does that for me. The other struggle with this show was the fact that other than the male and female lead and perhaps sometimes the second male lead, none of the other characters were anything to write home about. They were either there as comedic extras or bitchy girls and it was like does every girl in this show need to be a bad person?? On another note, the happy ending with Dae Woong and Mi Ho being together after she became human was great though part of me thought a tragic ending would have been totally interesting and would have reinforced the whole Little Mermaid parallels. Overall I'd give this show a 8 / 10 cause like I said up top, it's fun when you want something that you don't really have to think about.
Rugal (6/16): Kang Ki Beom is an elite police officer whose attempt to bring down Argos, a nationwide criminal organization, results in a group of masked assailants from Argos killing his beloved wife and child and cutting out both of his eyes.

I think what's the weirdest thing about this show is that I have no idea what Argos wants and they're supposed to be our Big Bad. In most shows an evil corporation has some sort of endgame but in this show other than gaining power then what? What does Ye Won want and what does Deuk Goo want? Between the two of them, almost every Argos head is dead and now there's only 1 left besides them and after Mi Joo threatened Ye Won, I'm sure she's not long for this world. On that note, I don't know why Ye Won or Deuk Goo haven't killed each other yet. They keep acting like it's oh so hard to get rid of each other but it's like dude one bullet to the brain will be enough. In that same vein I also don't love the idea that Deuk Goo was shot and poisoned with a deadly concoction but next week he's going to be up and running like nothing happened. I would feel a little less annoyed if we knew that Deuk Goo's scientist was even half as good as our Chief Oh but at least we learned that they're both on the same path cause they both worked on the same project back in the day which is how Deuk Goo is after the same tech that Rugal has. I'm curious though about what Deuk Goo did to Min Joon cause he didn't turn him into a super soldier but is there tech out there that can mind control people? We also a learned a little more about Tae Woong's backstory which was super sad and I'm low key impressed that he doesn't hold Ki Beom responsible for his sister too. On that note, we also found out that Ki Beom's eyes have a sentience of their own which is what I was worried about last week but as long as the eyes aren't like somehow connected to Argos, I'm sure that Ki Beom can handle it. As a sidebar I also want to shout out Bradley who is the best! The way he fanboys over Ki Beom is everything!

What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

Fruits Basket Season 2 Episode 1

We're finally back you guys and I'm so excited to return to this world! You all know that I'm an anime only girl and though I enjoyed the original Fruits Basket animation, it wasn't until the recent reboot that I got obsessed with this show and though I have been accidentally spoiled on a few story beats, all-in-all I'm going in fresh and excited to jump into new territory! This first episode back was a little slow and it was Yuki-centric which was a little rough cause he's not my favorite Sohma member to follow but at the same time I was just excited to be back so I don't have too much negatives! We met two new characters, Kakeru Manabe and Machi Kuragi, who will be joining Yuki in the Student Council next term and it's very interesting cause there seems to be a lot more to them than what we see at first glance. Machi seemed terrified of Yuki while Kakeru seemed to give off this vibe as though he hated Yuki even if he was acting friendly on the surface. My first thought was that Machi might be terrified of men in general due to some sort of abuse at home but I can't imagine that's true cause the previous president managed to interview her and select her for Treasurer so it might just be Yuki. I wonder if they somehow know about the Sohma curse cause I can't imagine anyone hating the quiet and shy Yuki that is present at school. There was also a lot of screen time given to Motoko Minagawa aka the Prince Yuki fanclub leader and it was strange cause I totally didn't think of her more than a comedic side role but the way the episode played it actually made me sympathize with her and wonder if maybe she'll end up having a bigger role in all this. Maybe she does end up with Yuki? Ugh this show is just so good and I'm already counting down to the next episode!

            Tower Of God Episode 2

I'm really fascinated by this idea that Bam is somehow special cause he keeps getting lucky during challenges but I do hope that there's more to it than the fact that he's the male lead in this anime cause that'd be too cheap! This week he was able to pass through the water barrier just cause and though one of the Rankers noted that he must be a monster, I can't help but wonder if that relates to who he was in his past. Maybe he's not a Prince like I thought last week but somehow one of the Rankers in that he already climbed this tower and somehow his wish caused him to lose his memory and end up somewhere else. What we did learn was that everyone who climbs the Tower actually live in this Tower which is broken up into a residential area, the testing area and an area that connects the two and that Bam and Rachel might be the only ones not from here so maybe this world is the normal one while it's Bam and Rachel that come from some underground world hence the need to see the stars? We also met some of the main characters we'll probs be spending the most time with and two of those are Bam's teammates for the foreseeable future. I'm really into Khun but Rak seems like he'll get annoying quickly. Khun also seems to have more to him than meets the eye cause not only was Bam warned against trusting him too much but someone else in the Tower was like oooh interesting Khun is here.

Harley Quinn Season 2 Episode 2

I had to retype this review several times before I posted it cause I kept wanting to just be like assjdflksdfjajflweajffj all over the place cause this episode was peak comedy and everything that makes this show good. I loved that we finally met Babs and saw Harley and Ivy basically help her become Batgirl. It does answer my question about the mythology of this Batfamily cause like I said last week I was wondering where Dick and Babs were cause you can always ignore Jason and Tim but Dick and Babs are so important in the Batman lore that you can't skip them! I am worried now though that since Babs just became Batgirl then that means there might not have been a Dick Grayson though I'm hoping that he's just in Bludhaven or something and that eventually he'll show up to help. The whole college campus thing was so damn funny and I was living for how in character Clayface was with everything and how he became one of the most popular girls on campus in three seconds! It was also nice to see Kiteman again though part of me wishes that he would become more of a regular on this show and maybe hang out with Harley and her crew more cause he's hilarious. King Shark and Dr Psycho taking on the town was everything and it was even better when it ended with with everything they did having meant nothing cause Harley and Ivy captured Riddler and forced him to power up their base.

What Dramas Am I Watching This Week?

So here's what I'm watching this week! Of course the list is split by country and the amount of episodes I've seen so far are written below! There will be spoilers from now on so if you aren't caught to the episode number on list, you might want to go watch that episode and then come back! KDRAMA

365: Repeat The Year (12/24): A story where ten people get the chance to go back in time by one year, but unexpectedly mysterious situations start to arise when their fates are changed and twisted in the process.

We're about halfway through this drama already and I seriously wish people would stop sleeping on it cause I need more people to understand what an incredible thriller this show is! Every week I find myself thinking one thing only to be disproved only to return back to that thought in the next second! The cliffhanger we ended on this week has got me in a tailspin cause I have literally no idea what that means! Here's my theory based on what I know so far. Lee Shin's daughter is sick and dies around the same time as the reset in January of 2020 so after it happens Lee Shin goes back in time to January 2019 in order to relive this final year with her daughter repeatedly. If the daughter dies in an accident maybe the resets are there to save her. In the original timeline all of our main characters have died in various ways but because of Lee Shin's reset she might have interfered in their accidents so as to keep them alive until January 2020 at which time she could reset with them. That's why all these deaths though predictable are still accidents and not murders but what I don't understand is why Lee Shin took all of them with her. Is the reset dangerous if it's only one person? And who's the one collecting trophies? Where did this technology come from? Why can we only go back one year? It's now October of 2019 in our show and I can't imagine where this show goes now! Lee Shin obviously picked the crew she did cause she knew that they would all die without interference and therefore take the secret of the reset to their literal graves but like if she explains everything now and warns them of what's going on, the remaining few wouldn't do anything other than try to prevent their accidents. It's not like Lee Shin can be arrested for anything and no one would believe the idea of time travel!
A Piece Of Your Mind (6/12): An innovator in the world of artificial intelligence programming, Moon Ha Won has made quite a name for himself in the AI industry.

Before I start the review this week, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the fact that this show is getting four episodes cut from it's season due to poor ratings so instead of 16 episodes, we'll only be getting 12 which makes this week the halfway point. I'm low key pissed about this cause I have really been enjoying this show and the fact that the show has just started to get interesting and now I'm worried everything will be rushed in order to wrap up the story. I do suppose this episode cut might play a role in why this will be the last week Ha Won pines for Ji Soo cause as interesting as that storyline was, it was starting to get the slightest bit tedious so in the end I'm not annoyed about that. It's funny though cause I really thought last week that Ha Won was the stalker-y one but it was In Wook that took the cake this week with his possessiveness over Ji Soo. Like I understood when he was worried that Ji Soo was contacting Ha Won but when he realized that it was Seo Woo whose number Ji Soo had, he was still furious. Like dude what Ji Soo can't make any new friends?? Can she only spend time with you? I also want to add that I'm not loving the way Soon Ho has been chasing him around and at first I thought it might be a crush but as we learned more about her and her trauma it does feel like it's just as simple as wanting the studio to do well but if that's the case, it's still too much. I also don't know why In Wook won't tell people that his wife died cause then they'd give him a lot more slack but I have a feeling that he feels like the minute he says that she'll really be gone in his mind. I did love the beautiful send off Ha Won gave her and how he deleted all his files on her cause like I said it was time for him to move on and I love that he's realizing that Seo Woo might be exactly what he needs to do so cause he's already thinking about her so much. When she didn't call him, and when she wasn't around, he was worried. It's also interesting to note that I think we met the second male lead this week too with that medical student who's living in the house cause he seemed to know Seo Woo.
Find Me In Your Memory (16/32): The story revolves around a man with hyperthymesia, a condition that gives people the ability to remember an abnormally vast amount of their life experiences in vivid detail, and a woman who has forgotten the most important moments of her life. The two people with similar scars fatefully cross paths one day and come to love each other. Jeong Hoon is an anchor of a news show which has the highest ratings. Jeong Hoon’s handsome face and perfect body figure make him look good in a suit. A rising star who attracts everyone’s attention, Ha Jin, appears in front of Jeong Hoon at that moment. Despite all the attention, Ha Jin doesn’t waver and keeps her confidence. However, she has a secret that her memory is fading away. The man who cannot forget and the woman whose memory is fading away. Will they be able to overcome their difficulties, understand each other, and fall in love at the end?

This week hit the halfway mark for this show and I'm honestly so amped to figure out what's going on. There's something strange about this stalker cause it's like one thing to be in love with a celebrity and be pissed that the celeb is dating someone and send them threatening letters but it's straight up a whole different thing to pay a reporter to take pics, sneak into their house like a damn ninja, do a background check on the boyfriend and contact a previous stalker. I mean what kind of stalker does that?? I really hope that Jeong Hoon follows through on his threat and gets Reporter Park fired cause damn if he wasn't breaking so many rules! It's one thing to be an entertainer reporter or a paparazzi but it's a completely different thing to sell celeb photos to someone you know is a stalker! It's also really weird that Ha Jin won't contact the police about this cause once again it might not have been a big deal when threatening letters were sent but now this person is sneaking into Ha Jin's house and attempting to attack her. I also wonder why Ha Jin's stalker contacted Seo Yeon's stalker like they did cause it's obvious that Ha Jin's stalker is hoping that he'll help get rid of Jeong Hoon but it's not like Seo Yeon's stalker will ever get out of prison to do so. In fact calling Jeong Hoon to warn him sees counterproductive! In other news everything with Jeong Hoon's mom was totally heartbreaking but I love that it ended with Tae Eun deciding to just be Jeong Hoon's friend from now on and not also his doctor. His father is all sorts of messed up though and he makes my blood boil every time he's on screen. I'm also super into this romance that's being set up between Ha Kyung and Il Kwon.

I guess we're actually done moving from doctor to doctor and from department to department since we spent the same amount of time with all our main characters this week though I don't think we actually got a Jun-Wan centric episode so I'm wondering if maybe the show wants to change up the show's recipe and wait a bit before doing him. Honestly though I do think that we got a lot of his backstory across all the past five episodes but I still think it would be fair to give him the full airtime too. We sort of settled into the world this week though I do think it was a bit of a more boring episode than the previous weeks though my favorite part of the episode is definitely the Mafia game that the older generation played. It was super sweet that Seuk Hyung's mom enjoyed herself so much and was like I think I'll spend more time with them cause I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard. I kinda wish we had seen Seuk Hyung tearing up as he talked to his mom on the phone cause I've had a feeling like she's been depressed for a bit so the fact that she could enjoy herself really was a milestone. Of course that all was ruined when the mistress showed up and was like can your mother divorce your father already cause I'm pregnant dudes. At least it was with Seuk Hyung and not his mom and low key I would be like reap what you sowed cause you're the one who decided to date a married man so the fact that you're about to have a kid outside of marriage is your own fault not Seuk Hyung's mom's. We also saw that one of Seuk Hyung's residents has a crush on him and that feels like it straight up came out of nowhere but I'm down. Ik Jun also might be getting a new love interest too out of Go Ah Ra who's playing his ex and I'm over here like yes please and Jun Wan and Ik Sun are chugging along nicely. Chi Yong also confessed his feelings for Song Hwa but she didn't seem all that receptive cause as we found out later one, she found a lump which is totally scary.
Memorist (10/16): Dong Baek has an extraordinary ability.

Some of my questions were answered this week and I'm so relieved that we slowed the plot down a little in order to figure them out cause I was so confused at the end of last week! A mystery is only so fun if we get little pieces of info as we chug along otherwise it feels like our leads are just treading water! There were in fact two serial killers out there, one being Jae Gyu who was the Executioner and killed Sun Mi's dad, and this new guy who's the Eraser someone who is probs at least 40 cause he was first active 20 years ago. The reason that Baek's memories were messed with when he touched Jae Gyu was because The Eraser was in the drain under them so he was able to touch Baek and mess him up. I still don't know why he's so interested in Baek and Sun Mi and why he was inactive for almost 20 years and now suddenly feels the need to go on a murder spree or whether he was the one to kill Baek's mom. I do know the show wants us to think that the Deputy Chief is the sketchiest and I totally agree with that cause he is but it also just feels a little too obvious for it to be him. I wondered for a second if it could be Kyung Tan cause he's the one who didn't want to search the drain of Jae Gyu's house when they had that search warrant and it would just be lame if the answer to that was just that Kyung Tan is a bad cop. There's no way he could make it to Team Leader if he wasn't good at his job but at the same time I just love him so much and he was The Eraser, I would be heartbroken. I also really don't understand the point of having so much focus on the media and why we're following that reporter around unless The Eraser is a reporter but if that was the case, then how would he know info that only the police do? It's also not like we need another antagonist when we have plenty!
Meow, The Secret Boy/Welcome (12/24): A graphic designer in her mid-twenties, Sol Ah harbors dreams of becoming a web-based comic author and has always had a love-hate relationship with cats.

Like A Piece Of Your Mind, it turns out that this show too is going to have a shortened season with 24 episodes instead of 32 so we're now halfway through this show but unlike A Piece Of Your Mind, I don't mind this episode cut. I don't think that this show will have any problems with pacing or anything because with the show being a slice-of-life, there's no rush to get anywhere. I also think I've decided what's freaking me out about the romance between our leads. I was thinking about it for a while cause it's like I watch plenty of anime and half the romances in those types of shows are between some sort of magical creature and a human so it's not the whole changing species thing that bothers me. I don't like that Sol Ah has no idea that Hong Jo is both a cat and the guy she's falling for especially after this week when Jae Sun found out the truth and seemed honestly pretty chill about the whole thing. It was absolutely hilarious seeing him struggle to decide how to feel about Hong Jo and their dynamic was everything cause they're both such surly people. I also really expected the real Bang Gook Bong to play a bigger role in this show or to be the reason that Sol Ah found out the truth but Gook Bong left pretty quickly and tbh I'd prefer if Hong Jo was the one to tell her himself. It does feel a bit like Hong Jo has learned to control how and when to change between a cat and a human especially since he's now wearing Sol Ah's ring all the time so that should help a bit. We also met that guy who takes care of abandoned cats again and it feels like he's like Hong Jo in that he's a cat who turns into a human but I wonder if he'll actually end up being an antagonist by kidnapping Hong Jo cause he thinks that Sol Ah is a bad cat owner. In other news I was thrilled when Sol Ah not only found out everything that happened in the past but also that she read Jae Sun for filth cause it was totally true that he was looking for excuses for the relationship not to work. He wanted to abandon Sol Ah before she abandoned him and that's why he's the second male lead cause the male lead would have fought more. It's always better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all right?
FINISHED Obstetrics and Gynecology Doctors (16/16): The drama depicts the difficult decisions and moving human stories that take place daily in the OB-GYN department, focusing in particular on Seo Hye Young, a talented and determined obstetrician who has just transferred from the prestigious Seoul base to the branch hospital. Her straightforward manner of handling her professional life is in contrast with her love life, which is marred by her relationship with a married man. This becomes even more entangled when she meets Lee Sang Shik, the chief of NICU, and her long-time friend Wang Jae Suk also shows his interest.

Well you know the drill by now about how much I love medical dramas so it's not much of a surprise that I decided to watch this drama but I was pretty excited about the fact that this drama was following OBGYNs and pediatricians cause most medical dramas focus on trauma surgeons and ER doctors so when there's a different take on medicine, I'm down. Unfortunately I found myself fairly meh about the whole show in that there's nothing wrong with it or that I hated per say but there was nothing that captured my attention either. It's a good popcorn show in that you can have it on in the background as you do something or when you want to chill without getting too emotionally attached. The best part of this show was ironically the weekly cases rather than the characters themselves which is totally crazy cause usually the cases aren't much more than background stuff in most dramas but in this drama, the show would not feel the same without the cases which made you cry and cheer! I loved that there was no hospital politics in this show and that there was no love triangles or evil characters which made the show feel so refreshing. Snag Shik was the best character in this show cause he was so kind and empathetic though I didn't love how much he meddled in the life of Hye Young cause it was like dude it's not your baby and you're not dating this woman so stop trying to control her life! I suppose it was a little need though cause Hye Young seemed to really just want to pretend like her whole pregnancy didn't exist which bothered me cause it was like girl you need to make a decision at some point about whether or not you want to keep this baby cause it's not something you can keep putting off! The supporting characters were fun too though I really didn't care for the secondary couple. Overall I'd give this drama a 7 / 10.
Rugal (4/16): Kang Ki Beom is an elite police officer whose attempt to bring down Argos, a nationwide criminal organization, results in a group of masked assailants from Argos killing his beloved wife and child and cutting out both of his eyes.

We learned so much this week but I'm also so confused about so much! I'm low key worried about whatever is happening with Ki Beom's eyes cause at first I was excited about how it looked like he was able to override the programming that Rugal set up cause it meant that he would no longer be able to be controlled by Choi but as the show went on, I'm starting to worry that it's more like something connected to Deuk Soo cause we don't actually know anything about this tech or why we keep seeing Deuk Soo's watch beep. Deuk Soo seems to want to build super soldiers just like the ones at Rugal and he's getting closer but the fact that he even knows about it and has someone with the ability to do so makes me think he knows more about Rugal and everything than we think. I mean afterall Argos is supposed to have spies everywhere and with Rugal being overseen by the Korean government, is it any surprise if there was a mole? We also learned that Seol Min Joon who was one of the main heads of Argos is actually a Rugal plant but I'm more curious about his relationship with Jang Mi Joo and Ye Won cause he told Ye Won that she always had a home with them and it sounded like she used to be one of his performers. To be honest I don't understand the politics in Argos. Why in the hell does Deuk Soo control everything when he's supposed to be nothing more than a secretary. I mean okay he murders the boss and joins hands with the boss's wife but that doesn't explain why he can threaten the other heads of Argos and why no one can stop him including Ye Won who wants to think that she's in charge but actually has no power even if Seol Min Joon claimed that Ye Won is much scarier than Deuk Soo would know.
FINISHED Stars Falling From The Sky (20/20): The drama draws a love story between two co-workers at an insurance company, with Kim Ji Hoon playing the company's smart as a whip lawyer. Because he carries the hurt of having been abandoned by his birth mother, he doesn't easily open his heart to others. Jin Pal gang is a 25-year-old employee of the company who becomes responsible for her five younger adopted siblings after her parents meet with sudden deaths.

I decided to check this drama out cause I was in the mood for a rom com and though this show started out pretty strong and I was really into it, halfway through it became a mess and then stayed that way until it limped to an end. Seriously I'm not even joking. I only ended up finishing this show just to see how it would end! I loved Pal Gang's character at the start and how she went from this selfish kid who only cared about herself into a woman who would do literally anything to keep her family safe. The family dynamic between the Jin family was definitely the best part of this drama and I loved that though none of them were blood related that they truly saw each other as family and would do anything for each other. I actually cried several times at the start because of this. What didn't work for me though was how as the show went on Pal Gang became this meek wallflower who couldn't stand up for herself and was pulled from one guy to another and all she could do was softly talk about how she wasn't on par with the others. The love triangle was the worst cause it dragged on for way too long and we didn't even get to enjoy Kang Ha and Pal Gang being cute cause they both hid from their feelings from start to finish. Joon Ha was super annoying and seriously felt like he faked all his niceness to the degree that even when Pal Gang was clearly uncomfortable with him, he still kept pushing as though her opinion didn't matter. Actually tbh Kang Ha did this too and it got to a point where I was like Pal Gang is not a toy for the brothers to fight over and she should have an actual say in all this! Jae Young was one of the worst second female leads I've seen with all her blackmail and manipulations and I totally didn't believe her sudden change of heart at the end. Overall this show was a hot mess and I really wouldn't recommend it but I'd give it a 6 / 10.
