What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! It's another slow week cause of Coronavirus stuff but as long as there's at least one show on air, I'll be here! So let's dive right in shall we?

Tower Of God Episode 1

I went into this anime having literally no idea what it would be about other than having a faint idea that this was going to be a battle royale type of show that I assumed was going to be taking place in a tower and though it feels like I was right about that, there's a lot I'm both confused and fascinated about. We were thrown into this world and what feels like the middle of the plot without any warning and it's got my brain all over the place cause we're left guessing about what's going on and where we are. It definitely doesn't look like we're in the modern world with the costuming for our characters but also with the way that Rachel talked about wanting to climb the Tower just to see the stars. Because of this, I'm going to assume that Rachel and Bam must live in some sort of underground world or maybe they are slaves and Rachel wants to use the Tower to leave her old world behind so until the show explains otherwise, that's what I'll be going with. The show is also interestingly more romantic than I thought with Bam's whole reason to climb the Tower being that he just wants to be with Rachel and it makes me wonder why the two couldn't have moved through the Tower together especially if Bam ended up going to the Tower as well. We also met a Princess and supposedly she's the Princess of the land where the Tower resides and I have a feeling that Bam will end up being related to her cause the way he sort of just appeared underground with amnesia and the fact that the sword that only the royals of this land can use worked for Bam has me questioning everything! I also want to shout out the character design in this drama cause it feels super unique but at the same time feels low key cheap and it makes me wonder if this show has a low budget or if we're saving money for the future battles and how that will look!

FINISHED The Magicians Season 5 Episode 12

I'm heartbroken that this show has come to an end but honestly I really did enjoy this finale and how it managed to wrap up every storyline though some did feel a bit rushed and kinda like they were built up to be bigger and ended up not mattering so much. Rupert found out that it wasn't Lance that had been calling for him from the Underworld but that it was actually Martin aka his brother aka the Beast. He ended up killing poor Zelda but died again when Fillory exploded and this was the one thing that I didn't love cause Hades made it sound like the dead coming back would be a huge thing but if they all died in Fillory after the Library shut down it's portals does that mean it's over? No more dead coming to any world? It was nice of the show to make Rupert end up in the weird in between place that Jane ended up so at least he got somewhat of a happy ending even if it's debatable if he deserved one. I also really liked the idea of Fogg basically saving the day (did I or did I not call in last week that our Fogg would traded for the other one??) because Plum set up a time loop and in the end Alice and Kady and Fen survived the Beast while Julia and baby Hope Quentin lived. It does suck that Penny didn't get his powers back but at least by tethering the magical umbilical cord to him, he has his powers when he's holding HQ. Margo, Fen, Alice, and Josh were able to build New Fillory and though they're stuck on it with the show ending, I'm sure Penny and Julia will find them eventually. Eliot became a Professor at Brakebills which is hilarious and he might have ended up with Charleton which I was totally all for ever since Charleton took over Hymen's body. I'm seriously going to miss this show and I don't know if there ever will be another one like this!

Harley Quinn Season 2 Episode 1

I was actually really surprised that the second season of Harley Quinn started airing this week cause it feels like the fastest turnaround on a show I've ever seen! Part of me is glad cause this show is just so bonkers but another part of me wishes that shows like Young Justice could be this quick! We're officially in No Man's Land this season and it looks like after Harley destroyed the whole Legion of Doom, the only villains left in Gotham are some of Batman's Rogues: Penguin, Two-Face, Riddler, Mr Freeze and Bane. The Justice League is still stuck in the book from last season and Batman was MIA after being trapped in Joker's Tower when it fell. In the end we did see that Bruce is okay (obviously) but super injured and in a coma which is why he hasn't been around. One of the funniest moments of the episode was definitely when Jim was trying to call Batman and little Damian showed up in Batman's suit like I'll be Batman for the world. It does make me wonder if there's no Dick in this world cause usually it's Dick who takes over for Batman when he's away in the comics but that also might just be the fangirl in me who adores Dick Grayson. It also does look like the overarching plot of this season will end up being Harley taking down each of the Injustice League and she's already taken out Penguin whose death shocked me even though I should totally be used to all the death in this show by now! Also where was Kiteman??
