What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! Let's dive right in shall we?

FINISHED Toradora!

So I finally got around to binging this anime cause I was seriously in the mood for a romantic anime but I basically watched all the popular ones but then I saw this one on Netflix and remembered that it had been on my to be watched list a while back so here I am! I am happy to report that for a romance anime, Ryuuji and Taiga held this show up! I loved that Ryuuji looked like the scary one but actually was super kind while Taiga looked like the soft one but was all prickly. They were absolutely adorable together with how much they looked out for one another and loved each other though they didn't actually realize it until way late. That's actually the one thing I disliked about this show in that we didn't see our couple get together until the last two episodes of this anime and I hated how much time we spent with the romances that Ryuuji and Taiga thought they wanted. Having said that I did love the squad we ended up building and each character was fun in their own way. I loved the mini arcs we got for each one in which we learned more about them than we did before and I even really loved the relationship Ryuuji had with his mom who at first I thought was only around for comedic purposes but the final two episodes really punched me in the gut with her love for Ryuuji and his love for her. Speaking of the finale, I also low key wish that Taiga didn't leave but I was happy that the two didn't actually end up running away and eloping cause that really would have been more immature and out-of-character than anything else. Overall I had a blast with this show and though it's not going to end up as a favorite, anything is possible!
Fruits Basket Season 2 Episode 22

This episode seemed to be wrapping up Yuki's backstory from last week and we're like almost at the end of this season and I can't help but wonder what our big ending will be cause I won't be able to help but compare it to season 1's Kyo true form arc which really hit so hard and cemented the fact that I shipped Kyo and Tohru. I do have to admit that as annoying as Kakeru is that he's the sweetest for listening to Yuki's whole spiel and not once making fun of him for seeing Tohru as his mother. Instead he took that and tried to look at it from another angle just like a lot of the audience did and wondered if Yuki was just feeling that way cause he knows Kyo and Tohru love each other but Yuki set him straight. I still don't ship Yuki and Machi but this week it was pretty clear why Yuki will end up with her cause she's one of the only people in this world who can see past Yuki's prince persona to who he is on the inside. I also have to admit that after all this and knowing Yuki's backstory, it really hit hard when Kyo yelled at him this week about being perfect and having the perfect life like babe Kyo my problem child you really know nothing. It's ironic cause after knowing so many of the Sohmas I can't help but feel like Kyo is one of the ones better off cause at least he had a loving foster father but at the same time trauma is trauma and you can't exactly compare how Kyo feels to others. I still want to know what happened with Kyoko and why Kyo was so triggered after Yuki talked about giving his hat to Tohru. Kyo and Tohru also had some A+ scenes this week with them flirting at the house and then how Tohru wanted Kyo's Prince character to be rewritten and then how she waited for him and how he sank onto her cause you know the boy wants a hug but can't cause he'll turn into a cat!
