FINISHED Fruits Basket Season 2 Episode 25
I don't know how I feel about this season 2 finale honestly cause for all the reveals we got, we still haven't gotten the answer we want! I was actually spoiled way early on about Akito being a girl and not a boy so the biggest reveal that probs should have shocked me was one that I was mostly just like thank you, next about. It doesn't explain why Akito is pretending to be a guy cause the only thing I can think of is that the head of the family must be a man (sexism and all that) but that means nothing in terms of the zodiacs cause Akito, girl or boy, is God and that's the way their family is built. Or are we to assume that all this is for the humans? The other big reveal we got was the fact that Kureno actually broke his curse and isn't a zodiac anymore and this I actually guessed based on context clues about how he's the only one in the family not allowed to spend time with the others and how Yuki was distancing himself last week and made Akito freak out. What sucks though is that Kureno himself doesn't know how he broke the curse!! I also really don't know why Kureno refuses to leave Akito cause it was out of pity that he stayed all those years ago but are we meant to believe that he loves Akito romantically now? That can't be true cause he said that Uo was the first person he fell in love with after breaking the curse so it's kindness or familial love that keeps him around? Akito's not a good person so it's not like she makes him happy so why stay?
Overall I did really love this season as a whole and though I do think the season 1 finale was more impactful than this one, I actually enjoyed this season better than season 1 cause it was all new material! We have been told that there will be season 3 which will be the final one and I'm assuming that it'll air in Spring of 2021 as per usual so I will be there!
