KDRAMA

Abyss (12/16): Go Se Yeon was a tough, accomplished, and an unrivaled beautiful female prosecutor who worked in the Seoul District public Office but gets into a fatal accident and dies. However, due to the mysterious magical marble—Abyss—Go Se Yeon is revived, but now in a totally different appearance. Go Se Yeon now possesses a common appearance based off of how “good” her spirit was in her previous life. Cha Min was the highly intelligent heir to Korea’s top cosmetics company but was also a smart, humble, and a kind-hearted man. Although he has both the brains and an astounding amount of wealth, he considers himself unattractive and is insecure about his looks. Like Go Se Yeon, Cha Min gets into an accident and dies. Due to the mysterious magical marble—Abyss—he comes back to life with a different appearance as an exceedingly handsome man just as bright as his spirit he had in his previous life. Go Se Yeon and Cha Min begin to work as a lawyer and an administrator at a private law firm and decide to investigate the magical incident. Romance blooms in the office as the two intertwine together to accept their same fate.

Say it ain't so but I think our leads are finally starting to win at this murder game! They finally FINALLY figured out that Ji Wook is Young Cheol's son and his accomplice and I could rant and rant until I'm blue in the face about the poor writing in this show and how our leads despite literally living in a world where a serial killer is targeting them keep ignoring suspicious and sketchy moments but that won't change anything. It's maddening that every time our crew figure out something, they basically broadcast it to the world rather than keeping it close to the vest to use later to the degree that I really expected Se Yeon to just tell Ji Wook about Tae-Jin when he visited the hospital and was super proud of her when she didn't only to have her find Tae-Jin's number and like a dumbass call it on her own phone so that he could toss the burner later. I also like how Ji Wook threatened Se Yeon like no one will believe you and I'm over here like dude you know that one cop is on her side and everyone thinks she's Mi Do so like why wouldn't they believe her if they find evidence? Can we also take a moment to shout out that Young Cheol is finally dead and hilariously it was Ji Wook who did it cause he was sick of the man trying to run his life. Honestly I'm glad cause Ji Wook was always a more interesting villain cause he feels like a bit of a sociopath to me in that he doesn't love or want to follow Young Cheol but he does it just cause why not. At first I had a bone to pick with how Young Cheol figured out the rules of the Abyss since the rules only appear when they need to and the only ones who knew how it passed from person to person was Se Yeon and Min but to my pleasure, this was an actual plot point cause Young Cheol played himself and Hee Jin got to laugh in his face as he was dying. I'm so glad that we got the Abyss back and now we can save Hee Jin's mom after Ji Wook killed her. Do we know how long after a person dies the Abyss can work? Like if it's a problem to save her mom now cause of all the eyes on the body, can they wait a few days or weeks and then try?
Angel's Last Mission: Love (16/32): People just fall in love and devote their lives for love. Sometimes, they take the other one’s life away for their love. A cold-hearted woman meets an immature angel and they get to confront unexpected tragedy and crucial moment. Lee Yeon Seo is a cynical and arrogant ballerina. She becomes the heiress because of her parent’s sudden death. She doesn’t believe anyone since there are a lot of people around her who want her inherited money. Her distrust and arrogance make herself unable to love. She becomes the best ballerina, but she gets into an accident and has to give up her dream. Kim Dan is a mischievous angel. When he ends his duty as an angel on the earth, he gets to cause trouble and has only one last chance to overcome his critical situation to be extinct. And that last chance is to be a Cupid for Yeon Seo, but he despairs that he has to look after such an arrogant Yeon Seo.

The world of angels is truly the worst isn't it? They look down upon humanity and scoff at emotion. They're given hearts and minds but told never to use them beyond what they're told. It's horrific but also fascinating cause I wonder if I'm so torn up about it because we're told these creatures are angels rather than grim reapers because while both have the same job of taking the dead up to heaven, the word angel has a gentler connotation than grim reaper. The more I see of this world, the more I want to feel for Kang Woo because he's a victim of this world too but I just can't get myself to feel for him the way I do Dan and I think that's cause Dan is so sweet while Kang Woo is all twisted. He treats everyone around him like they're nothing more than the dirt on his shoes and maybe this is leftover from when he was an angel cause it's not like Dan's mentor has much empathy either but either way it's a trait that Dan does not seem to possess. He treats everyone kindly and of course Yeon Seo has fallen head over heels for him cause after all the pain she's been through, how can you not love someone who's just so good? I was living for when Yeon Seo verbally smacked Kang Woo for talking badly about Dan and then later when she danced so beautifully while thinking of how much she loved Dan. It's a little amazing cause Kang Woo seems to be attempting to stoke Yeon Seo's bitterness and anger but instead she's just falling more in love. Dan it seems has now realized that the weird dreams he's been having are actually memories and it makes me wonder what the lore is for angels in this show. In most iterations, reapers are humans that committed suicide and therefore need to work off their debt before going to heaven or being reborn while angels are usually made in heaven and live as angels for eternity. I also wonder if God is kinder than we think and that he put Yeon Seo and Dan in the same path for a reason cause Dan was only assigned to her cause he saved her life cause she had made him curious since she could see him. Maybe this is His way of reuniting soulmates again?
Arthdal Chronicles (4/6): Eun Som was born with a fate to bring disaster to Arthdal. Due to his mother's struggles to save him, he goes through hardships and grows up. He appears again in Arthdal. Ta Gon is a war hero of Arthdal. He has paved the way for Arthdal to become a prosperous city nation and he is the most powerful person in Arthdal. He dreams of becoming the first king of Arthdal. Tan Ya was born with the same fate as Eun Som. She is the successor of the Wahan Tribe. Going through hardships, she realized her mission. She lives under the highest honor and her ambition is to become a politician

There was so much more world building in this week's episodes that my head is still spinning from information overload. I'm wondering if the Asa might be related to the Wahan because the spiritual dance that Asa Ron was watching that girl do was very similar to what Tanya did. It's clear that the Saenyeok are conquerers as is the Hae but the fact that Sanung is apparently turning against Asa by stirring up the anger of the people and marrying a Hae (Taealha who is sleeping with Tagon and his father which btw creepy) makes me think at first that Asa must be going against his personal wishes thus making them slighter better than the others but by the end of the episodes I watched this week, I wonder if they're just a different kind of terrible. Of course as we learned the rumor goes that Aramun was actually a Igutu and the Asa just pretended like he was their ancestor which is interesting cause so far we've been hinted at that Eunsom is the reincarnation so if that's true, the rumor is as well making the Asa's hands not so clean. Despite all this I find myself wanting to like them cause not only are they the only ones not out to hurt the Wahan but also Eunsom is related to them and I kind of want them to choose his side in the future but right now they picked Tagon which was smart cause Sanung was clearly a lost cause. Mother Choseol died this week too but in a scene that paralleled Eunsom's mother's death, she told Tanya that she is the reincarnation of the White Wolf and apparently none of the Great Mothers of the Wahan have dreamt for a while but I'm assuming talking to spirits is still real. Eunsom also managed to capture Sanung but unfortunately for him, Tagon gives almost zero shits about his father so like I have a feeling he'll kill Sanung himself and blame Eunsom. As I was watching the final few minutes of these episodes I suddenly realized just how out of depth poor Eunsom is. If they had stayed in Iark, there might have been a chance to win but like Arthdal is a huge city and I can't see a way for him to get what he wants unless he kills everyone or manages to politically outmaneuver the Arthdals but either way there's no chance that they'll just let go of the Wahan and never bother them again. It's one man against a thousands!
My Absolute Boyfriend (20/40): Da Da, is a woman who works as a special effects make-up artist but has a very cold-heart. She then, unexpectedly, falls in love with Yeong Goo, a humanoid robot programmed to be a perfect boyfriend. Yeong Goo begins to develop human emotions, and they end up in a love triangle with her famous actor childhood friend, Ma Wang Joon, who also falls for her.

At the end of this week's set of episodes, it feels like we're nearing the climax of this story but in actuality we're only halfway through this show and isn't that just crazy? 09 was reset this week and I was so glad for it cause though I never minded that Yeong Goo was a robot, a lot of people complained about this drama not feeling real enough cause unlike other shows with robots, Yeong Goo was literally programmed to love Da Da and it wasn't her herself that made him grow feelings. By being reset by Diana we were able to discover a lot even before Yeong Goo remembered who Da Da was and who he was. It was fascinating cause Ken seemed to be much more inclined to do only what Diana said, nothing more and nothing less, while Yeong Goo constantly took the initiative in order to shower Da Da with affection especially at the start. It made me wonder was it Da Da herself even back then caused those changes or does 09 somehow have the capability to see what his owner needs and while Da Da needed affection and validation after her breakup, Diana needs someone to do exactly what she says like a toy? Either way it was so perfect that Yeong Goo was able to break through his programming and remember his love for Da Da rather than Da Da being able to reset him through a kiss cause it definitely validates Yeong Goo's feelings for her. I assume that with a lot of the people at Kronos Heaven being interested in how Da Da is affecting Yeong Goo beyond his programming that it'll be a good way to give everyone a happy ending. Over on Wang Joon's side, I'm glad that Da Da told him that she didn't want to get back together cause their relationship wasn't as perfect as Wang Joon thought it to be and it definitely felt like Wang Joon was getting over her back then and it wasn't until he thought she found someone else that he cared again. Only an insecure coward targets the new boyfriend when he's jealous instead of talking to the person of interest.
Partners For Justice Season 2 (8/32): In crime and in life, all contact leaves a trace. There is no perfect crime and our hero and heroine have the ultimate cooperation. This drama continues the tale of a forensic scientist and a prosecutor who make the best of teams.

I'm honestly so pissed that we didn't get the reveal of who did the killing this week cause we spent four episodes with our poor prosecutors running left and right with each new suspect looking more guilty than the last! I still have a feeling it was the mother-in-law who called for the murder to happen and she probs convinced the coffee girl to do it thinking that both women in her son's life were gold diggers but at least the coffee girl looked more manageable compared to his current wife. I'm also curious if the blackmail photo the daughter-in-law showed her mother-in-law has any importance and I'm still wondering where the sister got all that money to buy a really expensive necklace from. For a second I did wonder if this case was going to go all Murder On The Orient Express with everyone working together to kill the victim but also what if it was the son in the first place who was tired of his wife constantly trying to take money from him cause wouldn't that be a plot twist?? Over on the personal side, I will be furious if Eun Sol actually is into Baek Beom cause she seemed weird about Sally being into Baek Beom cause like I said last week, he's not only too old for her but he's irritating and mean. I low key ship her more with Ji Han after this week cause I love their teamwork and I thought it was super sweet when he came into her office and told her to go home and rest and though he's older too, the age difference is less compared to Baek Beom who character-wise is old enough to be her father. I'm also low key into the new doctor we met this week who's definitely for sure the villain we met last week that cut up those gang members to find the drugs inside of them. He was also giving Eun Sol the eyes and I wonder if he'll end up doing something sketch to her later this season.
Perfume (8/32): Seo Yi Do is a top designer. Although he appears to be the perfect man on the outside, his personality leaves something to be desired. On top of that, he has about 52 phobias and 35 allergies. Min Jae Hee is a middle-aged housewife, who has devoted her life to her family only to see it fall apart before her eyes. She discovers a miracle perfume that makes her look young again. After recovering her youth, she ends up walking the runway in one of Seo Yi Do’s fashion shows and signs with a top modeling agency to become a celebrity. Both of them get a second chance at romance in what is described as a fantasy romantic comedy.

I'd like to imagine that the only reason that Jae Hee might be into Yi Do is because he's the only man in her life to show even the slightest bit of interest in her since she gained weight. I'm going on this assumption cause otherwise damn girl you've got the absolute worst taste in men. I don't care if he's rich or apparently devoted to his current girlfriends cause the man is mean and verbally abusive while also being cowardly and a baby. It's the weirdest range of characteristics but all in all it boils down to being super unattractive and I don't mean physically even though personally he's not my type of attractive. He gave Jae Hee a zero on her evaluation just for fun, then verbally abused her by telling her about how she was cheap and trashy when she already struggles with self esteem issues before ripping clothes off of her in anger and then deciding that she belonged to him and him alone by being furious that she would dare take a night off or go out with friends. He even went as far as to stalk her on her workshop. It's not cute and it's literally the definition of why I don't like romances with power dynamics cause he can pretend that his jealously and possessiveness is just him being a boss and she'll be like oh of course I'm the one who's wrong. Despite all this, I did like that his secretary now knows the secret about Jae Hee and I'm thinking her daughter might too now that she put together the picture of young Jae Hee. I also love the message of loving yourself before loving others the show is giving but tbh I would enjoy it more if Yi Do wasn't such an asshole. I was also living for when Jae Hee showed up at her husband's work thing just to embarrass him and I'm loving how much time is given to modeling and Jae Hee's love for it cause I think it's every girl's fantasy to be a model and rock pretty outfits.
Search: WWW (4/16): Bae Ta Mi works as a director for a big web portal company. She is in her late 30's and is quite competitive. With her competitiveness, Ta Mi enjoys success. The methods she uses to win has her wondering if she is doing the right thing with her life. Has she sacrificed too much of her personal life for success? Park Mo Geon is a man in his 20's and is a gifted composer. He creates music for video games. Mo Geon meets Ta Mi at an arcade. He falls in love with her due to her competitive spirit.

These two episodes were a lot of fun cause they focused on Ta Mi's relationship with Mo Geon and I really adore them so I was super down. I just love how much of a smooth talker he is and straight up if I was Ta Mi I would be falling at his feet. They're flirty without meaning to and their affection and interest towards each other feels so real and I just want to give props to the actors who have managed to make their relationship so strong and full of chemistry and we're only 4 episodes in! I love the way Mo Geon pops up out of nowhere to do things that make everyone swoon and that he's so straightforward when he teases her. I was flailing when he was asking her about the amount of fish in her tank and when he drew a heart on her ankle. I pretty much spend all episode swooning over his charm tbh and I really shouldn't fill this whole paragraph with my word vomit over him. I just think it's sweet how much he's head over heels for her despite her turning him down repeatedly and how she constantly saying that they won't work but finds herself thinking about him when she's down. It was such an asshole move of Director Song to fire him just cause he and Ta Mi had something going on but I really don't know what she expected from that exchange where she told Ta Mi that she would rehire him if she spied on Barro for Unicon. I was sitting over here like do you think she's a complete moron? Why would she have any loyalty left for Unicon when Unicon had no care for her. It's also driving me a bit batty that Scarlett is going around thinking Ta Mi is the villain and Director Song is an angel and I'm like first of all, why are you two so close when you're supposed to be enemies and secondly, why does she keep wanting to shoot her own foot to get back at Ta Mi? I did love that moment where they were almost friends talking about guys and I hope that now with what's going on with Ta Mi being on the number 1 ranking page that they'll find some common ground.
The Secret Life Of My Secretary (24/32): Do Min Ik is an intelligent man and the executive of a leading telecommunications company who always relies on his secretary, the loyal Jung Gal Hee. When Jung Gal Hee gets fired from her job she winds up assuming a double life as a famous movie industry figure, Veronica Park, after Do Min Ik gets into an accident that leaves him with face blindness (prosopagnosia).

So many bombs were dropped this week that I don't even know where to begin. The most important of course is that Min Ik found out about Gal Hee pretending to be Veronica. She knows that Min Ik only has like two brain cells and they don't work in conjunction with each other so while he was running around torn up about whether he loved Gal Hee or Veronica, she watched and wallowed that it probably wasn't going to be her that he picked in the end instead of telling him the truth. Even when he picked her in at the hospital I couldn't enjoy their cute phone call cause all I could think about was how she was lying. It honestly serves her right that he found out before she told him the truth cause the girl has been saying that she'll tell the truth for ages now but at the same time it also drove me mad that Gal Hee couldn't spit out what happened and Min Ik refused to stay around to listen. Maybe an explanation wouldn't help Min Ik but if he doesn't stay to hear one and calmly assess the situation, how will he know? On the other hand Dae Joo and Veronica were the most precious and I was living for how nervous he was to kiss her at the camping ground and then later at the theater though when they finally did kiss, I squealed. On a more serious note, we also learned what's going on in the office. As it turns out, it was the secretaries who did everything the whole time. They have been stealing stuff from their bosses and selling them for profit while replacing the originals with replicas which is what the spreadsheet was about. As a side project I think Dae Joo's secretary wants him to be CEO so she was the one who hired that guy to kill Min Ik though for some reason Dae Joo keeps popping up in the same places he was so now he's been arrested and Min Ik doesn't know what to do cause he's in shock after Gal Hee betrayed him. I imagine that this will all be solved pretty easily though cause this is a rom com after all and I can't see Min Ik staying angry for more than another 2-4 episodes.

     CDRAMA

DROPPED Decoded (9/41): A math genius gets recruited by Chinese spy agency to crack a complex coded message in the early republican era.

I wanted to like this show so much cause I really liked the premise being about coding and I wanted it to be a little like Rookie Agent Rogue as well but I ended up hating almost every moment of the ten episodes I watched. The fact that Jinzhen was autistic was unique and I wanted more nuance from it but all I got was him being treated poorly by everyone. The Chinese spy agency basically tricked him into joining and I'm like 90% sure they blackmailed his guardian into telling him to and then every time he wanted to leave, they either threatened him against leaving or literally tied him up. Despite his autism, he's not a child and they had no right to force him to do things he didn't want to! And then let's talk about training. He was recruited to be a codebreaker not a field agent but they kept trying to get him to go through physical training and kept being shocked that he wasn't this physical weapon and I'm sitting here like this makes no sense! I agree that his physicality was subpar but once again, why on Earth would he need to be out in the field if he was there for his brain???? Even his comrades kept calling him dumb and I was about to kill Yuer for being the most annoying human on the planet. I thought once I got through the training camp section I might be into this show a little more but I just couldn't once Jinzhen was demoted to some random assignment. For as much as the higher ups were talking about needing to solve the Purple Code and how important it was to solve, they placed their smartest person somewhere else and sent a bunch of field agents to help. The girls at least I understood but what is a cop/sniper, a physical education college major, magician/thief and an outdoor survivalist going to add to code breaking? I'm sorry I just couldn't anymore.
FINISHED Demon Girl (20/20): Nie Qing Cheng is a half demon, except she doesn't know it herself. Or the fact that her mother's demon clan helped shape the Qing Dynasty and their control ended with Eight-Nation Alliance invading China. Her father had raised her as a human child after her mother died in the conflict. But when a scientist exposed her true form and a fellow half-demon vying for her love, she wonders if her human side can prevail and if her human lover will stand by her side to the end.

I seriously don't know how I managed to end up finishing this drama cause it was the definition of a hot mess! I originally wanted to check it out cause I adored Zhang Zhehan in Legend of Yuxi and I liked the idea of a show being about demons. At first I was super into this show cause to my surprise it was set in my favorite time period aka at the start of the 1900s and I found it fascinating that Qing Cheng and Ming Xia fell for each other almost immediately and without any forced hatred that would turn into love storyline. I thought the leads had pretty great chemistry together and I loved that Ming Xia wasn't a stoic lead cause that's all I've seen Zhang Zhehan do and though Ming Xia was still closer to the stoic end of being playful, it was still different! I did wonder what the show would end up doing cause by the end of episode 1, the mains were officially dating and in love and to my disappointment it turned out that the show literally had no plan so we were forced to watch our leads break up countless times and by the time the final breakup came around, there was no impact cause we already watched them breakup like five times before! The thing is that each time the breakup made sense but the fact that it was done so many times was annoying especially since they would get back together like two episodes later at the max. I also low key started to ship Qing Cheng with You Tong towards the back half cause I was honestly so sick of the strobe-light relationship between the leads and You Tong started to remind me a little of Ya Long from the Journey who I adored. It also made the most sense cause if Qing Cheng is immortal then eventually she'd watch Ming Xia die. Tbh I actually liked the tragic ending of Qing Cheng picking her demon people and wiping Ming Xia's memory but again it would have been more impactful if it wasn't their hundredth breakup and if we had focused more on the demon community. Overall I'd give this show a 6 / 10.
Hello Debate Opponent (14/30): Freshman Bai Yu studies Culture Industry Management at Yingli University. He mistakenly attends the new member selection meeting of the debate club and ends up joining the club together with Yi Xiao Xi and others. Final-year student Gao Ting Ting, who dreams of winning the national University Debate Championship, now puts all her hopes on the new team. But the teacher in charge wants to give their practice room away, and in order to keep the room, Ting Ting’s team has to place first in the university’s own debate contest. Will their team of rookies with clashing personalities be able to achieve it?

It took me a second to remember where we left off cause this show didn't release the subbing for episode 12 until this week even though 13 and 14 were subbed two weeks ago which was strange. Literature won the debate against Art as expected though I have a feeling we might end up losing to Law in the next debate since as Bai Yu explained, we'll still go on to the next round if we lose and I have a feeling that we can't just keep winning every debate or else the show will feel too low stakes. I was also glad that Xiaoxi turned down the hot art dude this week cause she clearly wasn't into him like he was and I'm glad there was no hemming and hawing. It's one of my favorite things about Xiaoxi's character cause she's young and unexperienced in love but she isn't afraid to say what she feels. I was a little afraid that his public confession number 2 might pressure her into agreeing but home girl was so strong. Also can we talk about how he keeps doing this in public? The first confession was kinda sweet but now it just feels like he's trying to pressure her. Stuff like confessions and proposals should be private cause it's a matter between two people not ten. Speaking of confessions, Sun Qing confessed to Qingbei and it was super embarrassing cause he turned her down and I was on Bai Yu's side of the argument cause if Xiaoxi had told him at all about it he could have saved everyone though I don't know why he didn't tell her in the karaoke room when he pulled her aside. I still want her to get with Shen Yao instead who's so preciously in love with Sun Qing and tbh I was surprised to see them hang out cause we haven't seem them together for a while. Also Bai Yu and Xiaoxi are still in the denial phase of their feelings but with their friends telling them about it, hopefully it won't be too long until they realize and act upon them.
My Youth (21/24): Su Can Can loves learning about literary works. In her adolescence, she meets her best friends. Xu Mei Li is lively and cheerful, Lan Tian Ye is handsome and uninhibited, Lin Jia Ze is gentle and refined, Tao Ya Ting is beautiful and melancholic. In their journey, they have many little secrets and many worries. Whether in high school or in college, Su Can Can has collected many unforgettable memories. When she turned 28, she looks around and realizes that the people with her when she was 18 are still the same people around her now.

I might have spoke too soon last week with saying that our whole crew would be going to the same college when in fact it looks like Jiaze and Can Can are at one college, Meili and Tianye are at another and Yating is at a third. As I said last week I kind of love this separation cause tbh it's a bit more realistic than if all five ended up at the same place and I also like that since everyone's in Beijing and can visit each other all the time, we don't have to do a weird time skip to get our crew back together again. We met Xingyi who is Tianye's roommate and Meili's boyfriend. It did suck that she lied to him for so long but they worked it out so I loved how flustered he was around her after he figured out he liked her and how happy he was to get that jacket she bought him but his confession scene was super cute. I was also so thrilled when Can Can and Tianye got together cause I really thought the show would make us wait until almost the end and can I just say, this is how you write a friendship turned into romance (looking at you La Coup de Foudre!) I was living for how many times they kissed this week and how natural they felt (no bug eyes or standing still!) but of course we needed the obligatory breakup in order to up the drama. It always makes me laugh how in dramas long distance always ends destroying a relationship because it's like both will still love each other for that whole time and it's like why is pining any different than struggling to contact each other? At least Tianye is now back in China so I'm sure that they'll work out their problems in the next 3 or so episodes.
FINISHED Novoland: The Castle In The Sky (28/28): In the ancient time, the human honored the winged clan as gods for their ability to fly and to build a castle in the sky. The day when the castle was to be lifted off the ground an explosion destroyed it. A human girl was suspected to have the done it. However, a man from the winged clan didn't believe it and saved her life. As it turned out, it was a faction of the winged clan trying to start a war with the humans in order to expand their control.

I was in the mood for a fantasy cdrama and I decided to check this one out cause my girl Gabrielle Guan was the female lead and I loved her in Sweet Combat. This was another drama that started out strongly but dissolved into a mess and that feels like the theme for the dramas I finished this week tbh. I fell head over heels for Tianyi almost immediately cause even though he was an asshole, he was so so hot being that asshole. Fuling on the other hand took a minute for me to enjoy cause she started out as the typical bubbly naive and moronic female lead that a lot of other dramas use but I was able to stick it out long enough to see her grow a brain so I ended up enjoying her a lot as well. I enjoyed the world that we had built and it was super fun seeing the Wingkind and their costumes and their palace and I even ended up enjoying the politics of getting Tianyi on the throne but as the show went on, it felt like the writers lost what they were planning on doing and we ended up going all over the place and doing things that didn't make sense. Characters acted their dumbest just to get a plot to happen, misunderstandings went on for episodes on end without trying to clarify situations and Tingjun literally had the worst villain turn I've ever seen on a drama. What kept me watching was not only Tianyi's beautiful face but his really cute relationship with Fuling. Though his feelings were obvious, hers seemed to pop up out of nowhere but I was able to ignore cause I was just so happy watching them be cute together from when they knotted their hair all the way to when he crowned her Empress. I didn't mind the tragic ending but I do wish that we had more moments between the couple in the final episodes in order to make Fuling's sacrifice mean more. Overall I think this was a 7 / 10!
The Brightest Star In The Sky (40/44): As singer-songwriter C-POP star, Huang Zitao plays a role of a recalcitrant idol who debuted and become famous since he was young. He deeply likes music and keeps persistent, that is similar with Huang Zi Tao. This time Yang Zhen Zhen is a newbie manager who just starts the work. Being a newbie staff, she faces various obstacles but she never gives up her music dreams.

Wow we definitely learned a lot about Boss Chen huh? He truly is just as bad as we thought he was and more with the reveal that he literally destroyed Master Gu's life by framing him for drug possession. The reasoning behind this made no sense cause it was like he wanted money to lose an international singing competition and like that's terrible on it's own but he framed his own teacher cause he was afraid that the teacher would expose him? Yikes. It's totally stranger than Boss Du knew about this and like though she wasn't thrilled with him decided to marry him anyway and now look at where she is now. I really feel so bad for her cause her husband is the damn worst and I really hope those papers he signed this week were divorce ones cause he doesn't deserve her in the slightest even if he's sick now. On another note, Baixu finally seems like he's thriving now that he's doing CPOP like he wanted and his vocal nodes are mostly cured. I'm totally fascinated with the fact that Boss Chen has been against Baixu rapping from the start and it's like his own teacher was into that so like has he always hated Baixu cause he reminded him of the past? Baixu and his father are kinda in the middle of a cold war too and it's super weird cause it feels like Baixu keeps wanting to be good to his father but his father doesn't care especially with the whole calling Zhenzhen to him and basically telling her to dump Baixu. It's ridiculous cause it's not like those two are really dating anyway cause never mind kissing each other, they barely touch or talk about their feelings. Any time Baixu brings it up, Zhenzhen shuts him down and it's like girl I know you're scared but the man has literally made you an engagement ring. He's not about to flake now!
