What Shows Am I Watching This Week?

Hello everyone and welcome back! We're a bit light this week but in a few weeks all our Fall 2019 shows will be back so it'll get more intense! Anyway, let's dive right in shall we?

FINISHED Leverage

I spent the last month or so binging the hell out of this amazing show cause if you know me at all you know that I'm high key obsessed with con artist shows and movies cause I just find the way the thieves outsmart everyone else so much fun and I think everyone has a part of them that wishes that they could just steal whatever they want! Having said that the real reason that I found this show was actually cause I had just watched the Korean remake of Leverage and I adored it and once it ended I found myself wanting more so I jumped over to the original American version and I've never been more glad. Everything about this show was fun from it's characters to the schemes to how most episodes were standalone only to throw in an overarching threat here and there. I adored watching our cast outwit everyone and how even when it looked like maybe we would fail that in the end we managed to fly through. Parker was my favorite of the bunch though I also had a soft spot for Eliot and his soft center that was wrapped in a hard shell. I low key shipped Parker with both Eliot and Hardison and I totally adored Sophie and Nate too though not as much. Some of my favorite episodes ended up being the more bottle episodes or the ones where the setup was different like the ones where the whole crew told Nate about how they stole something from their POVs or the girls night out at the gala or the one where Parker tore her ACL cause they were all just so creative! Though I just experienced 5 seasons I miss this show already!

Welcome To Demon School Iruma-Kun Episode 12

As I totally called last week Iruma ended up joining the Magical Apparatus Battler which high key sucks cause I wanted Iruma to join the Student Council partially cause Ameri is just such a cutie but also cause I want to see Iruma embrace his ambition! As much fun as it has been seeing him stumble from one situation to another I want to see him actually take steps to do well. It low key sucks though cause having joined the Magical Apparatus Battler it's clear that Iruma's going to take on the idea his senpai had about getting rid of demon ranks and making everyone equal which is all well and good but I wish that once a hero of a shounen would actually follow the rules of society and not skip all ranking stuff with their extreme power like Naruto or Tatsuya for example. I am interested in the fact that Sullivan was caught for going into the human world to get Iruma and I'll be curious to find out if Iruma being a human will be outed now. Henri aka Ameri's dad received a picture of Iruma from Baal I'm assuming and that had to have been the proof he needed to arrest Sullivan but I wonder if the other demons will realize that Iruma fits the Demon King prophecy perfectly and if/when they do if they'll force Iruma to become Demon King now or wait until he graduates from school. As a sidebar it was so precious of Ameri to spend so long decorating the Student Council room and then being heartbroken when Iruma didn't come!

FINISHED Special 7: Special Crime Investigation Unit Episode 12

The finale for this anime aired this week and it was just as lovely as I wanted it to be! I really liked the idea that dragons can only be powerful if humans believe in them and so when Special 7 were able to prove to Warlock that they didn't believe in his power but in each other it caused him to lose belief in himself as well and he was destroyed. I especially loved the idea that though Warlock broke down Luka's spirit that he was able to get back up in the end and how that's a representation of why humans are so strong and that Warlock in his very heart of hearts was just jealous of humanity and wanted to be them which is why he was so condescending and tried to take over the world. It does suck that Luka left to find redemption in the end but I'm happy that all of Special 7 made it through and are still working together. It also low key sucks that Seiji decided to give us his dragon power cause it feels like it'd be a really helpful thing in the future. Overall I had a blast with this show and I definitely thought it was one of the better investigation animes of the season so I wish that it hadn't been so slept on!

Harley Quinn Season 1 Episode 6

This episode killed me over and over again with how much I laughed at everything. I said last week that the episode I watched wasn't for me and that I was bored during a lot of it but we came back with a hilarious episode this week that was much MUCH dirtier than I expected it to be! I loved that Jim spent the whole thing in a tizzy about how he had emotional pain to deal with and he needed Batman to help him through it but Bats was too emotionally unavailable to help him and even went as far as saying that they weren't friends but in fact just coworkers. Man oh man this was amazing on so many levels cause while at first it just seemed like a joke on a deeper level that made so much sense cause Bruce has always struggled with his emotions. It led to Jim becoming best friends with Clayface's arm cause it gave him the attention he needed while Harley helped Bruce figure out that he needed to be a better friend to Jim. The Psycho and Ivy story wasn't as funny but I loved how both of them were so horrified by the thought of dating that they had to go destroy the man who reported it!!
