Agents of SHIELD Season 5 Episode 9 Review

So on tonight's episode of let's almost die, the team attempted to get from the Earth to the Lighthouse and straight up I don't even know how our team has survived this long by pulling plans right out of their asses. Deke take notes.

But seriously let's talk about what's going down on Earth. All the humans from this world except Deke left Z-One and the team tried to find a way to lift off but they realized that it would be harder than expected cause the plans for the plane were changed and so so many things were broken that eventually they realized the best plan was literally just float up like a piece of garbage in the wind in the gravity storm until they left Earth's atmosphere and then use thrusters to fly through space. I was dying during this whole time cause Fitz and Jemma trying to science was everything I missed and Deke and Enoch's reactions slayed me while everyone else was just like oh okay so another Friday then.

Dude I just loved having most of the team together again, making jokes at May's expense and just being the family that they are.

I'm also glad that Deke didn't actually try to kill Daisy like Voss kept hinting. I was really worried he would do like Voss said and turn on her especially with that one transition from Kasius talking about how humans always betray one another to seeing Deke follow Daisy out of the room. I'm really glad that he ended up saving her life by trying to distract/stop Sinara cause he was slowly growing on me and I was really hoping he would have grown as a person during this arc. There's still a chance that he tries to turn Daisy over when Kasius stops them next week but I'm hoping as he saw tonight, SHIELD is badass as hell and you really shouldn't bet against them.

Also I am getting sick and tired of everyone constantly saying Daisy is the Destroyer and holy hell that video did not prove anything! All it showed was Daisy walking off and that could have led to ANYTHING! Voss did say something about Robin predicting that a gold light came down from the sky and that's what started all this but then Daisy ended everything. Tbh all I could think of was the gold light being Thanos and that if Daisy really and truly did destroy the world it was to stop him.

We did get a little more about the whole time travel thing and the show explained it as a loop. I was confused last week as to whether those past/future moments were from the original timeline if the team wasn't pulled out or if it was them after they returned to their right time. According to Fitz and Jemma, it seems that they were flashes of the future/past after SHIELD gets back to the right time so everything they did in the future/past was to set up for SHIELD coming to future which leads to the question of how they're going to change things if the future is set... I feel like it has to change though cause otherwise what a bleak storyline and also I have no idea why SHIELD would turn to the Kree and make the decisions they did if they saw how terrible the outcome of those choices were!

Sinara is dead and here's hoping that Kasisus is next. His big plan this week was exactly what I thought he should have done last week which was to turn off the oxygen only Kasius wanted to bomb the human floors through the oxygen tanks which again is a little extreme. But I mean you know Kasius's dramatic ass so bombs it is. I loved that Mack and YoYo distracted him long enough to get all the humans to safe floors and move the bombs to other floors and that Kasius was so completely thrown for a loop. When they blew up the inhuman blood samples I cheered out loud at his disgruntled scream.

We did end the episode with the hint that Kasius has a seer and I think it's older YoYo to be honest cause she did go off last week in the future/past to talk to him and Kasius seemed to know her pretty well in the hallway confrontation. So much so that he knew how to block her powers. If it isn't YoYo, I definitely think it's an older member of our current team cause that'd make the most powerful impact.

Next week looks like the final confrontation on the Lighthouse (at least that's what I'm hoping!) I hope they kill Kasius cause that rat needs to die and it looks like Kasius might try to kill YoYo which adds to my theory that he has an older YoYo or a YoYo brought back to life from the future/past like Tess. I don't want anyone on our team killed. I also kind of hope when we do leave that we get to bring either Deke or Flint with us!

See you all Monday for my Supergirl review!

Arrow Season 6 Episode 11 Review

Another win for the Arrowverse this week with a great episode of Arrow! It's funny how weeks that I enjoy an episode of one of the shows, I enjoy them all while weeks I don't enjoy an episode, I dislike them all. Honestly though last week's episode rubbed me the wrong way cause I really didn't like this OTA v NTA thing the show was doing but now that they've dialed that down a little, I'm feeling better about the show.

Since we started with that, let's talk about NTA. First of all, they're still being whiny babies even when Oliver and Felicity and Diggle agreed to share intel with them and loop them in cause they care about the city more than petty fights. I mean Felicity and Diggle told Dinah that Vigilante was on the other team but none of the three decided that it might be a good idea to tell Oliver that he might actually be a double agent? Like that seems like important intel to pass along. Also like I said last week I'm trying to be impartial with my clear bias towards OTA but seriously if NTA (mostly Curtis) does not stop pointing out to Oliver how much they enjoy not being one big team, I will lose it. Like jesus we get it. Do you need to repeat how much you don't trust each other every time??

By and by I think NTA needs to come up with a team name cause straight up you can't really be NTA if there's no Arrow on the team! I chuckled when Curtis pitched the Outsiders cause that was a comics team (that Black Lightning was on ironically.) I kind of also chuckled at how even though they claimed they were better, each of the three were falling back into Oliver's methods. Curtis lied about Vigilante, and Curtis and Rene tried to make the decision with Dinah. I wonder if this whole storyline is trying to get to a place where the three realize that Oliver made a tough call and hindsight is 20/20 and that maybe they were ultimately too hard on him. Honestly I wouldn't mind that or if the three straight up left the show to be a team in a new city cause if Black Siren is redeemed, we won't really need Dinah and maybe this is more bias but I don't want Oliver to beg for forgiveness again. He apologized last week and NTA didn't accept it so that's that as far as I care.

Now to Vigilante. I really don't know how I feel about this. I want to believe Vincent, really I do but I just don't know. Even after he gave NTA the correct intel twice and saved Rene (and possibly killed Bones) I still feel weird about the situation. Playing triple agent seems like a move that Cayden would plan out especially with how smart he is but again Vigilante is supposed to be a hero which is why him being on Cayden's team in the midseason threw me for a loop.... I do like him and Dinah together which is why I would like him to be truthful. If he did in fact kill Bones then his cover with Cayden is probs still solid and it would give our team a leg up.

Before we talk William and the Queens, Diggle had a moment which is worth bringing up. He was a little weird about putting on the Spartan suit cause he had hoped that he would get to put the hood back on after his injury healed. It made me wonder if maybe he'll get a hood suit in the future like maybe a Red Arrow suit or if he'll slowly realize that he doesn't want to be the Green Arrow... The first option is strange cause Diggle doesn't really shoot arrows but I guess he could start using the crossbow again? The second option is strange cause why even bring up the fact that he wants the hood again if he's not going to follow that train of thought. Maybe it'll be like the Flash comics when both Wally and Barry were the Flash though I feel as though that'd be really confusing. I just doubt that Oliver were ever put the hood away especially now that William is on board.

Speaking of William, I've decided I officially like his character after this episode. I was slowly warming up to him as the season chugged along but I was so about everything William tonight. He had a hilarious scene in the beginning with Oliver and Felicity, had a solid scene with that bully on the bus, stepped it the hell up when push came to shove in the tunnel, listened to Felicity and finally accepted Oliver's need to be the Green Arrow. If this is the William we're going to get from now on, I'm down. Give me all the William. I do hope we get to see more of William in the bunker or maybe some of Oliver training William for real?

It also helps that I'm digging (no pun intended) the whole Queen family thing. Felicity and Oliver being all domestic in the beginning was everything I wanted last week and more. I loved that they talked about what to do with William as a team (yay that Oliver didn't just make all the decisions) and that Felicity was so nervous about parenting when Oliver wasn't around and that William didn't even bat an eye to the bullies when they were making fun of Felicity being his mom. I was a little thrown with William saying that as long as he has Felicity he'll be okay with Oliver being the Green Arrow but I ultimately get what the show was trying to say. Also I have to say I adored that scene where we watched Oliver and the team fight while hearing Felicity's speech to William. It was wonderfully shot and it has to be one of the most believable Olicity moments. Sidebar I grinned every time their wedding rings flashed and it made me wonder since Iris made such a deal about wanting to be Mrs West-Allen if Felicity did the same or if she took on the name Queen instead...

Cayden still really doesn't make much sense. He's doing all this cause he thinks Oliver killed his son but according to Felicity and Diggle, Oliver was in Hub City at the time and if I remember correctly Felicity and Ragman were the only ones in Star City so I wonder what this "proof" is that Cayden thinks he has. I kind of like this idea cause it's definitely different than doing another Oliver killed X so Y has to get revenge thing. We've seen it with Slade and Adrian so it's been played out. It makes me wonder who's the real mastermind behind all of this. I'd believe Anatoli but I also wouldn't entirely mind if it was next season's villain and that we don't learn who framed Oliver until the season finale or season 7.

Next week looks like we'll be continuing this city under siege storyline which is so strange to me cause this feels like a season finale arc which is making me love it even more cause again it's something new! Also poor Star City. Every single year there's shit destroying them. People should just move tbh. The shots moved too quickly to really see what's happening but it looks like Black Siren might not be down with what's going on and that Dinah and Vigilante will be attacked. I swear if Dinah dies, I will be so beyond pissed. We don't need to lose ANOTHER canary.

I'll see you all tomorrow night for my Agents of SHIELD review!!

The Flash Season 4 Episode 11 Review

Tonight's Flash episode was a lot better than last week's too! If Arrow's is as well (which based on the previews I think it will be) that leads to a question as to why I was so meh about all my Arrowverse shows last week..... But that's a thought for another day cause let's focus on tonight's episode!

So Barry is behind bars and casually making friends with people that Henry was friends with and I know we're supposed to think it's sweet that Barry has a friend but all I could think about the entire time was what that guy was behind bars for. Like Barry didn't even ask! Dave could be a serial killer or a rapist or anything worse than that. Like best case scenario he's a drug guy or a bank robber. TBH if I had to guess it's probably the latter option. Maybe he'll be the new Captain Cold. I loved seeing Iris and Barry meet daily and I have to admit though Westallen has never been a ship that I really ship, their scene where Barry phased through the glass so they could hold hands was hella cute.

I also loved seeing the Tricksters again and though Mark Hamill (he's probs a little busy on a tiny indie movie you might not have heard of called Star Wars) was not around, I loved seeing a non meta villain for once cause it was definitely a nice way for Ralph to get his feet wet. Speaking of Ralph, I'm starting to finally warm up to him. TBH it's probs cause we haven't got too many sleazy comments from him recently but either way I really enjoyed him tonight. I liked seeing him fight and be all weird and confront the fact that not only can heroes get hurt but that they're heroes because they do it anyway. I was also wondering if we got the name of the reporter who was following him cause she got a lot of lines tonight and it made me wonder if she was supposed to be Sue aka his wife in the comics as the showrunners have said that she'll show up (aka he won't end up with Caitlin too which thank god cause my girl deserves so so much better!)

The rest of the team didn't really get to do too much. Caitlin got to be Frost again and she had some funny moments with Cisco. I do think the three of them (Vibe, Frost and Elongated Man) should work together every time cause it seems to me that it's probs best to start overpowered than to be overwhelmed and needing help. I also can't decide if I like the fact that every week someone tells Caitlin that she needs to Frost up and she makes a joke about how it doesn't work that way and then someone yells at her until she does become Frost but I'm leaning towards being over it. Like we get it already, we don't need this joke every week. If it becomes the new Run Barry Run I'm going to roll my eyes so hard.

Next week looks hilarious. Someone has a shrinking ray and to be honest I may or may not make the joke about calling Ray the whole damn time. I can't wait for all the tiny jokes.

Also sidebar cause this technically doesn't have anything to do with tonight's episode but according to the Legends of Tomorrow team, Wally is officially moving over to Legends after appearing on like one more episode or so of the Flash to probably explain why he's leaving. This is simaltaneously infuriating and exciting news. Infuriating cause I will never not be bitter at how the Flash played my boy Wally and gave all the fun mentor/mentee relationship stuff to Ralph. Like remember how Barry was grouchy last season and all he did was yell at Wally? And to hell with the Flash writers' bull about how it's hard to come up with storylines for two speedsters cause dudes some of the best episodes of Young Justice had the Flash family in it. Despite this I did mention that this news is exciting cause I'm thrilled beyond measure that the Arrowverse isn't just writing off Wally like I was afraid they would and that he'll be able to play around more on Legends and be given more screen time. One thing the Legends writers do best is showcase the strengths of their cast though I do hope and pray that Wally doesn't become an idiot like Ray and Nate do on a weekly basis. Either way, I'll just be happy to see my baby in the forefront again!

Supergirl Season 3 Episode 11 Review

Damn now this was what I call an episode of Supergirl! I was so ambivalent about last week's episode cause though I enjoyed parts of it, nothing in the episode gave me a rush of joy or excitement like this one did. This is the Supergirl I enjoy the most.

So I had rolled my eyes last week when I saw the preview showing Kara and Imra team up with Livewire and Psi cause I was like here goes another dumb reason the show gives to not have Martian Manhunter or Mon El or now Brainiac 5 suit up but as the episode went on, I actually didn't mind the reason and I actually enjoyed this idea of Supergirl teaming up with two villains. I loved seeing Livewire again cause of how much history she has with Kara and I was straight up grinning the whole time she and Kara gossiped about Mon El and Imra and I was dying cause I almost forgot that Livewire had met him last season. I also loved the differences between Psi and Livewire and how Livewire thought Psi talked like a snob and Psi thought Livewire talked like an idiot. The fact that both girls shaped up in the end was amazing and I loved that Livewire gave her life for Kara cause even though I always thought Livewire was a bit cheesy, I really felt for her tonight.

I also loved that Psi was able to bring Reign to her knees cause damn is she powerful in that case. It was sweet of Kara to upgrade her prison cell. It's like Suicide Squad Supergirl Edition. Speaking of, I was really disappointed we didn't get to see what Imra was scared of when Psi accidently attacked her which makes me feel like we'll see it again in the future and that it'll play a big role because we usually see the fears that Psi brings up in other people and if we didn't see it tonight, it's only because there will be a greater impact later on. I wonder if it has something to do with Kara cause Imra did give Kara a weird look afterwards. Would it be something as simple as her being afraid that Mon El will leave her for Kara?

Speaking of Mon El, the show keeps trying to pull me back in on his relationship with Kara. Just when I think I'm over them, bam they have a cute scene and suddenly I'm melting again. I loved that he was able to give her some good advice at the end of the episode and it really showed how much more mature he is now though I only wish the show would show us being a good leader and a good hero in the field cause I know this is Kara's show but if everyone keeps saying that he is the leader and a hero and he trained them, I want to see it! Also sidebar when Kara and Imra were heading out, he looked more worried that Kara would be in danger than Imra which was kind of hilarious.

Brainiac 5 is still my baby and I loved him being all exasperated in the DEO at how shitty technology in the 21st century is. Winn's rivalry with him made me chuckle and I loved Brainy being an asshole to them cause it's so true to who he is in the comics usually. I also loved that it was ultimately it was Winn who figured out how to send a signal to the Legion ship without making Brainy look dumb (CAUSE I HATE WHEN THE SHOW TRIES TO NERF CHARACTERS WE KNOW ARE BETTER THAN THAT.)

I still really don't care about Ruby but after tonight I'm fairly certain that if Sam does die by the end of the season (which I actually doubt now) then Alex is going to adopt her. Alex wanted kids and she and Ruby get along so I can connect the dots. I did love that Alex scared Ruby's bully into stopping her bullying by flashing her FBI badge and that Ruby helped Alex with Maggie's passport.

Speaking of Sam, it really does seem like a Caitlin/Killer Frost situation in that Sam and Reign are two separate personalities and that when one is in the forefront, the other can't remember. Although that might only be true for Sam cause Reign not only seems to know that Sam exists but seems irritated that Sam is constantly fighting for control. Because of this I feel like the season isn't going to end with the death of Reign but possibly with a way to keep Sam in the forefront and banish Reign (probably through Ruby) or actually turn Reign kind of how Killer Frost became less evil. I do like that Sam finally went to someone with her time loss problem and that it was Alex cause I'm sure she'll be able to figure out what's going on. I actually thought that she might take her mask off in the fight with Psi and allow Kara to realize Sam was Reign but I'm ultimately glad they're going this route instead.

We also learned that there are probably two more World Killers on Earth, Purity and Pestilence I think. I thought there were 9 in the comics but maybe that was too much for the show especially since Doomsday is one and I don't think Supergirl wants to go there. It looks like we met one of those at the end of the episode and again she's the same as Reign in that another personality was hidden inside. I can't decide if I like this back and forth thing the show is doing. Maybe a sleeper agent kind of thing would have been better...

Next week looks like the return of Morgan Edge which is fun cause he's such a scumbag though I do enjoy the more fantastical alien stuff with Supergirl more than the grounded politics stuff. I really wish the show could handle having real A and B storylines (like iZombie thrives with) where each episode Kara is dealing with the alien stuff and then we also have a continuing thread of Lena doing her thing cause I do enjoy both but after an episode like this I'm not really thrilled to dial it back for next week's episode. But I know that's asking too much for the writers of the Arrowverse so I'll just try to enjoy what I get.

Don't forget to check out my Flash review tomorrow night!

Agents of SHIELD Season Season 5 Episode 8 Review

I'm back! I'm so sorry that I missed last week and wasn't able to review it but Friday's are such hard days to keep open and I wasn't able to watch the episode until later. Overall I loved last week's episode but it wasn't as fun as the previous chunk of episodes. This doesn't mean that I disliked the episode by any means but that the other episodes this season were so much better! I struggled with caring about the Flint stuff cause though he's an interesting character, I'd be much more attached if we weren't just going to leave him in the end. (Also ironically I love how everyone including me assumes that we're going to go back to the present day time and not stay here in the future.) Tonight's episode was back to being amazing and it actually made me cry!

I guess let's start with the stuff on the Lighthouse. YoYo and Mack and Flint are living their worst lives in a horror movie and it's terrible for them but so much fun to watch. Poor Flint was being blamed by everyone for the water and power being cut and I mean yeah it's his fault but at the same time, the humans on board really need to stop thinking that the Kree are literally everything and realize that the Kree are their oppressors not their saviors. I do understand why the humans feel this way cause to most this is the only life they know but at the same time I was hoping they'd be a bit more openminded. Also props to Kasius for being a drama queen and deciding that he wanted to kill all the humans but not through easy means such as turning off the oxygen on all non-Kree floors but sending roaches to hunt them. I suppose he thought that all the SHIELD people went to the surface so he could take his time with the murdering...

Also sidebar, Mack's love for his shotgun ax is so pure and I loved his response to Flint about why an ax on a shotgun is a good idea.

Their plan was so awesome and I'm actually really surprised that it worked to be honest cause things are never that simple. YoYo was super badass as always and I'm so glad she's part of our team now. Also very smart of them to take out those dumb wrist things cause that's another way the Kree could win as we saw the downsides of them.

Over on the surface everyone got to the surface safe which I loved that not only did the Zephyr survive an apocalypse but also that Fitz and Simmons were talking about how Fitz built the thing and Deke was just like oh that's cool but did you fly it? Like who even invited you Deke? Butt out! So Robin was of no help until the end which confused me for most of the episode cause why else would she was still alive. I was really really hoping she could actually explain what happened which we can sort of piece together through the flashbacks but I was hoping for more of a straightforward answer. But then that asshole killed her cause we can't have nice things or allies apparently. I understand why they would think killing Daisy would save the world but Daisy's our girl so I can't root for that!

Sidebar I called it from the moment Deke and that guy had a talk about his dad and forgiveness that Deke's dad was totally dead. Also sidebar 2 I totally had a thought that maybe Fitz and Simmons were actually Deke's parents which would have been hilarious to the tenth degree.

We also got some flashbacks of the past/future in the timeline somewhere between present day and this time 70 years in the future. According to these it seems like Daisy did somehow destroy the Earth (though after it was evacuated) which makes me feel like it's probs done to destroy a Bigger Big Bad (*cough Thanos cough*) cause it seems weird that Daisy would wait until a city was evacuated if she was going to have a meltdown of some kind. Coulson and Mack seem to die and possibly YoYo too after the team decide to turn to the Kree for help and she disagrees. Fitz and Simmons create the plans to make the time monolith machine and May becomes a mom to Robin. Now this is all sweet and everything but straight up if the team's plan was to send everyone to the future to see what happens if they fuck up and then send them back to not do the thing that leads to this future. wouldn't it be a good idea to I don't know LEAVE A NOTE OR SOMETHING.

Everyone's been all vague and no one knows what happened so how the actual hell is our team supposed to know not to do something if they don't even know how it happened in the first place. Jesus leave a diary with an explanation with Robin or something!! If Deke's dad was able to hold onto a piece of the time monolith, a diary/book wouldn't be that hard!!! Ugh. At least now we know officially that our team isn't going to stay here but go back which we all assumed but it's nice to hear a confirmation.

Next week looks like Sinara will catch up to our team and I'm hoping they finally murder her cause I'm over her. Also Kasius's big plan now seems to be to blow up the Lighthouse which means he'll need a ship to escape in so maybe our crew can steal one and go to Earth too? Flint is needed to get the team home somehow so maybe he can find the monoliths like a tracker cause they're rock? Either way I'm super pumped!

Tune in Monday for my Supergirl review!

Arrow Season 6 Episode 10 Review

Tonight was the return of Arrow (as if you didn't already know) and it was a pretty good episode! I've been fairly lukewarm to this episode and most of the midseason finale but that's no fault of the show but my own personal preference as to which storylines I enjoy. It's the same problem I'm having with Flash. Intellectually I can see that these storylines are interesting and can lead to a lot of really cool scenes but emotionally, I don't like them.

In case you haven't gathered, I'm talking about the OTA v NTA split that's been going on in Arrow right now and possibly for a while if I understood what the cast was saying. Usually I'd expect a storyline like this to be resolved in an episode or two but after this season where Oliver hung up the hood for like 4 episodes or so, I can see this storyline being dragged out for maximum impact. And let me make it clear, my problem isn't with the storyline cause the idea of the newbies being hurt and forming their own team is a really interesting and cool one but my struggle is in that I can't help but choose OTA's side. This is a very clear bias on my part cause OTA are my babies and I've loved them for six years while the newbies were irritating last season and I didn't start enjoying them until the end of last season and the beginning of this one so I can't help but pick OTA over them which makes me feel bad and also kind of irritated at NTA for going against them.

Again intellectually I can see where NTA is coming from with how OTA is so tight-knit and how the NTA is treated like sidekicks and get left out of most of the decision making but at the same time every time Dinah or Curtis complain, all I can think of is Felicity talking about NTA acting like babies who are sad that daddy read their diary (which btw way harsh Felicity but it made me chuckle so props I guess.) I also cannot wrap my head around why Dinah or Curtis don't think it's a biggie that Rene sold Oliver out. Like Oliver is literally going to go to jail when Rene speaks up. And straight up what makes them not think that Rene'll turn on them if he's pressured to? Again I completely understand Rene wanting to protect his daughter but my problem is in NTA being so damn upset about OTA "spying on them" like guys really that's your biggest problem? If this was a company and the CEO found out that someone was leaking secrets there'd be a big investigation so how's this so different?

My biggest hope for this whole thing is that maybe since NTA is out and about this will mean that old members of the team will come back like Roy (who's slated to return this season and I'm just praying it's for more than one episode) or Thea or Ragman (like why'd he fall off the face of the Earth?) or even Deathstroke as a last resort. I'm also curious if this whole thing will end with NTA returning or if they'll peace out of the show eventually and go be a team elsewhere.

Oh and Diggle's arm is now fixed and it made me die of laughter cause dude what have we all been saying to you since the start of this season? GO. TO. FELICITY. AND. CURTIS.

Sidebar, that Bertellini boss was talking about his cousin (Huntress) and how she was underground. Refresh my memory, Helena's in jail right not hiding no? It would be fun to see her return though. I'm still waiting for a Birds of Prey episode with Black Canary, Speedy, Huntress and Felicity.

I was also surprised that Oliver and the team found out that Cayden and Black Siren were working with Anatoli and Richard and Vigilante already. I really thought it was going to be more of a shock later on but in hindsight it makes sense cause it does allow Oliver to need his team back and give him a reason to reach out. I'm curious about Vigilante cause I can't read him. I was so sure that he was playing Dinah but that he'd inadvertently remember how much he loved her before and that would cause him to change sides but now that Dinah knows, she's not going to trust him and he was so cold about her at the end that I'm not sure what's going to happen.

It was great to see Thea again and she spent most of the episode with Lance who tried to decide if he should try to turn Black Sire or if she's a lost cause. Thea was probably one of the best people to talk about this with cause she understands the whole evil family member thing with Malcolm but I just can't get past the fact that Lance is trying to rehabilitate a whole other person and trying to get her to replace the daughter he lost. Black Siren may look like our Laurel but she's not the same person. I was also glad that Thea brought up Sara cause straight up Arrow keeps forgetting that Lance has another daughter. I really wish she could pop into the season for at least an episode or so cause I really want to see her reaction to Black Siren.

Next week's promo shows Cayden randomly attacking all different parts of the city and Oliver being unable to stop it. I kind of hope William is actually hurt a little (is that bad?) cause I want him in the bunker and watching as Oliver kicks ass cause I really want him to get on board with the Green Arrow cause he's not going anywhere anytime soon and Oliver can't hang up the hood either.

Don't forget to check out my Agents of SHIELD review tomorrow night!

The Flash Season 4 Episode 10 Review

The Flash is back and he's in jail now lol! Let's dive in!

So since I really didn't think Barry was going to come out and admit that he was The Flash, I wasn't surprised that he both lost the trial and went to jail. I can appreciate the parallels between Barry and Henry in that both were blamed for a murder they didn't commit and that both went to jail. I am curious about how long Barry will be in jail cause I feel like there's only so many episodes that The Flash can go without their hero on the streets unlike Arrow where someone else could put on the costume. If Wally was around then maybe but I'm fairly sure he's headed off to Legends where he'll be better appreciated.

The trial was kind of hard to watch cause so much of it was complete and utter bullshit. DeVoe's wife makes me want to scratch her eyes out and her fake crying over her husband's death made me look away cause I was so angry. I have so many damn questions about this whole situation. How did they get DeVoe's DNA onto Barry? Like I get DeVoe having Barry cause they did kidnap him for a while but Barry? I also wonder why no one found it strange that all the cameras around Barry's home turned off or why in the modern world where there's literally cameras on every street there was no shot of DeVoe going to Barry's house. Like no one thought that was strange?

By the by DeVoe is driving me crazy. I NEED to know what his big evil plan is cause he keeps telling everyone that they're too dumb to understand what he wants and I'm sitting here like nothing you want is so complex that we won't get it. I keep feeling like he wants to help the world and that he believes the means justify the ends which would explain why he doesn't want to work with The Flash cause the team won't want to do something terrible.

Speaking of the team, there was this radiation sickness meta that was accidently killing people and he was kind of pointless cause the stuff with Barry was much more interesting. I did like how he was defeated though and any time Killer Frost shows up is great. I would wonder if anyone would put two and two together in that when Barry goes to jail, Flash disappeared but at the beginning of the season both Barry and Flash were gone and no one noticed. Where's the FBI agent to connect the dots like on Arrow?

I did love the final scenes where we flashed back and forth between the judge convicting Barry and Singh giving The Flash a metal. I will never not be bitter as to why Flash is hailed as a hero when he does vigilante justice while Green Arrow is hailed a criminal when he does the exact same. It's the same problem I have with Superman v Batman and it's ridiculously hypocritical to me. I also loved the final scene where Barry realized that he was now living in the same cell that Henry did.

Next week's promo didn't show too much other than it's a Ralph centric episode. He wasn't half bad tonight so I don't mind him taking the front seat next week though I doubt I'll come out feeling the same way. I do hope that Cisco and Caitlin get to go out there too cause I love when they fight.

Don't forget to check out my Arrow review Thursday night!

Supergirl Season 3 Episode 10 Review

Supergirl is back and kicking off their return with the Legion of freaking Superheroes!!! I have been waiting a thousand years for them ever since Mon El disappeared last season and I have mixed feelings to be honest.

Let's start with the Legion first cause I can't hold it in! I love the Legion so when I first saw the costumes I was super disappointed cause of all the Arrowverse shows I thought Supergirl embraced it's comic book stuff and colors and aliens so the fact that they gave all the Legion black costumes was annoying. Also straight up I had to wait a season and a half just to get another black leather costume for Mon El? I want the Valor suit. I want the pink suit for Saturn Girl. I want the purple suit for Brainiac 5. Ugh I'm really hoping these dark costumes are cause the 31st century is apocalyptic and that something Supergirl does this season will fix the future allowing the Legion to not look like the 00s XMen.

I'm also a little over this whole we want to go back to the future and we shouldn't meddle situation. Of all the storylines to bring back this was not one I wanted and I don't like it. I really wish the Legion had come back to help Kara so that the future would be okay cause the way the show decided to go, everyone looks an asshole. Mon El for not helping and Alex for wanting to place her world over theirs. It's all just irritating. I also really wanted Mon El back but I can't enjoy him cause he broke Kara's heart and is married. It's so hard for me cause I really don't like when the obstacle in the path of romance is marriage. Imra is fine but she's starting to get a little less fun though I'm so so so glad they decided to keep her powers and finally showcase them tonight.

Speaking of, I loved seeing the Legion rings and our heroes fighting. I could have done without all the Bon Jovi jokes but I loved the Avengers callback when they played music to announce their arrival. I do wish we'd see more of the Legion fighting cause the thing I hate most about this show is how other heroes constantly need to be NERF-ed to showcase Supergirl's strength. Why can't they all be badass like in the Justice League cartoons?? Martian Manhunter is always down in seconds, Mon El and Imra were pretty useless and how did we not get an explanation as to why Superman couldn't come help? Like just tell me he's off world or fighting his own villain or something! It's not hard!

Now all that out of the way, let me just take the next few moments to gush about Brainiac 5 who I adored. Again I was disappointed by the pictures I saw of him and his makeup which looked really strange but it grew on me as the episode went. I already had a predisposition to like Brainy just cause Jesse Rath played him and it was amazing. He was dorky and crazy and smart and just all around perfect. I highly highly doubt the show will go the comic version and have Kara date him but I would not be opposed in the slightest if they went that route! I laughed so hard every time he said something to Kara!!! I really hope we see more of him.

Lena and James were in this episode and really they should not have been cause they pretty much did nothing. Like Lena girl I get it but Kara is "ill" and she didn't invite you into her house so why are you barging on over just to ask for love advice? It did lead to another amazing acting moment of Melissa playing J'onn playing Kara and I was living for it especially at the end of the episode when Kara and Alex talked about what happened.

I don't understand Reign and what's happening with her. Why is she more immune to Kryptonite than Kara? What does she want? Why is she against Supergirl if they kinda want the same thing? Can Ruby turn off Reign and bring back Sam? What the hell is up with that weird cult guy? Is he another World Killer? Are we going to do something fun where a bunch of "humans" around the Earth wake up and remember who they are like sleeper agents??

Overall I did enjoy this episode though I feel like most of that is cause I loved Brainiac 5 because if I think back, nothing really happened tonight....

Next week looks like a team up of Kara, Imra, Psi and Livewire (can you hear my eyes rolling into the back of my head through the screen?) which might be fun. I do love the actress who plays Psi so more of her please! I also hope we see more of Brainiac 5 and possibly some flirting between him and Kara though I swear to everything if Mon El acts jealous or territorial I will lose my shit. Also I want more World Killers though I'm afraid that if we do bring more, it'll end up being like the last two seasons in Kara having to fight an army of aliens. It might be fun if Reign is turned off permanently or is brought to the heroes side and that there's an even bigger threat out there.

Now that the Arrowverse shows are back, don't forget to tune into my Flash review tomorrow night!

Agents of SHIELD Season 5 Episode 6 Review

Oh my god you guys I'm so so sorry that I haven't been reviewing Agents of SHIELD like I should have been but the last few episodes aired while I was on vacation with my family for the holidays so I ended up being unable to watch the episodes until recently which might actually be for the best cause straight up Fitz showed back up in episodes 4 and 5 and if I had reviewed them, my reviews might have just been non-stop squealing and fangirling over him. Ugh but seriously, I really enjoyed the last two episodes and episode 5 which followed Fitz and Hunter on the road was probs my favorite of the season so far cause I missed Hunter so so much and his bromance with Fitz is perfection. I really hope we see more of him in the future. Now that that is out of the way, let's jump into tonight's episode!

Okay so I guess I'll start with the stuff going on with Mack, YoYo and Coulson which if I'm being honest I didn't really care about. Like I'm kind of getting over this whole Lighthouse world and I miss our agents being on Earth and solving spy problems. If I want to watch post-apocalyptic stuff I turn on The 100. Also it doesn't help that Fitz was back and everything he was doing was so fascinating that everytime it switched back I was like ugh. Anyway Kasius decided he wanted to make more inhumans to sell and one of the kids turned and had the power to control rocks (I think) and our team felt sorry for him so they decided to help. Tess and Grill died. The end.

Now to the fun stuff. How is it that of all the super spies that SHIELD is supposed to have that Leo Fitz aka the science guy who rarely leaves the lab is the best one? He walked in there all badass and played Kasius like a goddamn fiddle and I was screaming the whole time. He wanted to get Jemma's hearing back? Done. Convince Kasius that he was a badass? Done. Not eat weird alien food? Done. Save May's life? Done. Learn Kasius's backstory? Done. I was screaming. Framework Fitz though I hated him really gave our baby Fitz all the right skills! I was hoping that he might find a way to actually get one over on Kasius but due to some unforeseen circumstances we ended up where Daisy and Jemma wanted to get in the beginning with a shootout. Oh and in case you were wondering? He shot a bunch of Kree, and shot the forcefield projection to let them escape. (I warned you about the gushing didn't I?)

I loved that Fitz proposed to Jemma at the beginning of the episode and that Jemma proposed to him at the end. Their kiss gave me life and I wanted to see a pan to Kasius's face when he realized he was played. The only unfortunate part was that Kasius's brother managed to turn on Daisy's inhibitor though I assume between Fitz, Jemma and Mack someone who know how to take it out of her.

Another casualty was the loss of that inhuman that could read minds. He had a super cool power and I was hoping that he might stick around. Unfortunately this show seems to kill off or send away any inhumans that have cool powers other than Daisy and YoYo. I guess it makes sense cause this isn't an Inhumans show (though the Inhumans on SHIELD are so much cooler and stronger than the ones on Inhumans.) I was also a little confused why he decided that May and the others stood no chance. I expected him to read their minds and realize that Fitz, Daisy, Jemma and May were all together now and had a chance though I suppose maybe he thought that he's not a SHIELD member so he'll probs be collateral.

Speaking of, May was sent to the surface of the Earth instead of being killed due to Fitz. I assume that since the way back to their normal time is on Earth (the time monolith perhaps?) and that there's clearly a resistance of some kind that we learned about a few episodes ago, May will join them and eventually our team will get to her and then get back. I still wonder if this time travel thing will continue all season or if it'll be broken up like last season.

Next week's episode looks amazing and I can't wait to see it! Everyone will reunite and I want them to kick everyone's ass cause our team is back together. Also I hope that alien that came with Fitz makes it cause he is fun and I like him working with Fitz. Though it wouldn't be SHIELD unless their escape plan A is destroyed so I'm not too surprised about that. I vote they steal Kasius's brother's ship and fly to Earth!

I'll see you all next Friday for next week's review!

Top 10 TV Shows of 2017

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Let's kick off 2018 with my top 10 tv shows of 2017 list! As you probably know if you've been following me for a while, I'm going to rank my top 10 tv shows of 2017 from 10 to 1 with 1 being my favorite tv show of 2017! I will start with my honorable mentions which this year are shows I loved but aired their finales or got cancelled! If you enjoy lists like these, check out my Top 10 TV Shows of 2013, Top 10 TV Shows of 2014, Top 10 TV Shows of 2015, and Top 10 TV Shows of 2016 lists! Fair warning, there may be spoilers below so keep that in mind!

Sense8

My first honorable mention is Sense8! The first season of this show was amazing and when season 2 aired this year, I loved it even more than the first season so I was heartbroken when I found out the show was cancelled. Luckily due to fan outcry, there will be a finale movie to end this show which I am so so thankful for cause otherwise the show ended on such a cliffhanger that I would not be okay! I adore these characters, the way this show is filmed, and how each character has their own storyline but also an overarching storyline that all the sensates have to deal with. I love how much of a family our sensates are and how utterly OP they are when they band together to fight. This show had an amazing commentary on race, LGBTQ and sex and it will be missed. Click here to see everything I've posted about Sense8 and keep an eye out for my finale review of this show whenever it airs!

Reign

My second honorable mention is Reign! The final season aired this summer and my heart broke. I adored this show and the characters they produced. I loved the costumes, the setting, the plot (minus season 2 which we pretend didn't happen) but most of all I loved the romance between Mary and Francis. It's what I fell in love with when I first started watching this show and though he wasn't in season 4, his presence was still felt in Mary's life and I loved that. I actually cried during the final scene in the finale and I just want to thank everyone involved in the show for knowing that we would love that scene and that it would be the perfect way to conclude this show that we fell in love with. I will miss you Reign!

Now onto my top 10 list!!!

Shadowhunters

Coming in at number 10 is Shadowhunters!!! Though I watched season 1, it didn't appear on my list last year cause to be honest, season 1 was very very rough and the only reason I managed to watch the whole season was because of my love for these characters from the books and how much I wanted to see my favorite scenes from the books appear on screen. Season 2 was much better in that the world started to feel like a real world and the writing was much more solid. The show still feels more like it's based in the same world as the books rather than a retelling of the books but once I accepted that the show would take bits and pieces from the books and change them up for the show, I was able to sit back and enjoy what I saw. I love the relationships on the show and how minor characters are more fleshed out! If you dropped this show after season 1, I highly recommend that you jump back in for season 2. Season 3 will be coming out in the winter! Click here to look at my Shadowhunters tag!

The Flash

At number 9 is The Flash! If you've been following my Flash reviews, you probably won't be surprised at how low Flash is this year but if you haven't been following me, let me explain. I do love my Arrowverse shows but The Flash has never been my favorite of the bunch cause Barry always seemed to rub me the wrong way! He's very selfish and constantly only thinks of himself. The show has way too many characters and doesn't know what to do with all of them. Iris has literally lost her character and only exists to be Barry's girlfriend then fiancee and now wife! Wally who is my favorite Flash was shafted for no reason then to bring on a douchey white superhero who exists to be irritating. Last season was a mess and a half and though this season is shaping up to be better with the Thinker being an amazing villain so far, Flash has burned me so many times that I can't help but put it at number 9. Click here to see all my reviews and thoughts on the Flash! The second half of season 4 will be coming out in January!

The Magicians

Coming in at number 8 is The Magicians! I just started watching this show this year and I binged season 1 in like a week just in time for season 2! I started it and I just couldn't stop watching! This is such a strange show you guys and I loved all the weirdness! I'm always down for weird and different shows and this fit the bill perfectly! I love all the characters (as in I don't dislike a single character), the plot, the villains, the magic, the way magic is portrayed in this world, the mystery, the fantasy world of Fillory and the romance between Quentin and Alice which melted my heart. I'm left staring at the screen after an episode ends wondering what the hell I just watched and LOVING it! You have to check this show out guys if you want something completely out of the box! Season 3 is coming out in the winter!

The Librarians

At number 7 is The Librarians! This is another one of those shows that I have been watching from the very beginning four years ago but it never managed to end up on my top 10 list because there were always other shows that I enjoyed more. Well this year a lot of the shows I enjoyed concluded or were cancelled or didn't air yet and I ended up loving this last season and the season we're getting so far so much more than previous ones that it had to get on my list! If you've never seen the Librarians, it kind of feels like Doctor Who. There's a magical library which stores all the magical artifacts of the world and there are 4 Librarians who are in charge of finding and protecting those artifacts and a Guardian who is supposed to protect the Librarians. This is another super fun and very weird show. Each episode has it's own story but connects overall to one big plot a season. Something zany happens every week and it's a ton of fun to watch. The characters are all great, the storylines are fun, the magic is awesome and the romance between Eve and Flynn is one of my favorite things! Season 4 is on right now!

Riverdale

Coming in at number 6 is Riverdale! This show's first season aired this year and it's already onto it's second. If you're not watching this show or haven't heard of it yet, how's life under that rock you're living in? Seriously guys, this show is everyone. It's based on the Archie comics if Archie was all dark and mysterious. Season 1 stole my heart and blew me away and led me to seriously fall in love with this show. The writing was tight, the mystery was revealed at the perfect time and the romance between Betty and Jughead blew me away. I started the show cause of Cole Sprouse and how much I loved him when I was younger (I literally grew up with him) and though he's still my favorite character on the show, the others grew on me too by the end of season 1. Season 2 is airing now and though it's not as good as season 1 and there are a lot of things that feel weird to me, this show is still one of my favorites! Click here to see all my other Riverdale posts!

Supergirl

At number 5 is Supergirl! Though only a small drop, this show did drop from number 2 to number 5 for me this year. The second half of season 2 was probably one of my favorites from Supergirl but the first half of season 3 left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth simply due to the way that the show destroyed the Mon El/Kara relationship so much so that I kind of want Kara to move on completely from him. Despite that, this show is still near the top of my list cause of how much I enjoy everything about this show. I love Melissa as Kara and her relationship with Alex which is the backbone of this show the way the West Family is on Flash and Original Team Arrow is on Arrow. I love the fight choreography, the crazy villains and so much of the supporting cast who like the Flash I do believe should deserve better in some cases like Winn cause Jeremy Jordan is an incredible actor but doesn't get enough to sink his teeth into! I love seeing Supergirl kick ass every week and be a powerful female character who's allowed to love and be girly when she wants without taking away from her fighting! Click here to see all my Supergirl reviews and thoughts! The second half of season 3 returns in January!

Legends Of Tomorrow

Coming in at number 4 is Legends of Tomorrow! This is a show that I've had such a mixed relationship with. Some weeks I'm all about this show and the craziness I receive and other weeks I'm irritated with how ridiculous the plot seems to be. Season 1 was rough and the a lot of season 2 felt silly and nonsensical but then something out of nowhere just clicked. Suddenly all the crazy hijinks the cast went through just worked for me and I was seeing the fun that this show can have! I love when the girls go out and save the day in two seconds, I love the weird plots that no other Arrowverse show can touch, I love how much fun the villains have. Season 3 is really very fun and there's going to be such a mix up when we get back now that two major characters left and one will be appearing soon. Check out my thoughts on Legends here and don't forget to check this show out when it comes back in January!

Game Of Thrones

At number 3 is Game of Thrones! Okay duh why wouldn't this be on my list. *Echoe in distance: Because it's never made it on your list before* Okay fine you caught me! I actually didn't start watching this show until about two years ago and then I watched Season 5 and 6 as they aired but somehow I always forgot about Game of Thrones when I was making my lists cause the summer is always so far away! BUT I REMEMBERED THIS YEAR so props to me? Again this is a show that you have to be living under a rock not to know about so what can I even say that you don't know? Everything about this show is great from it's plot to it's characters to it's politics to it's themes. Sansa is my favorite character and I'm basically Team Stark Is Happy At The End. I'm not a huge fan of Dany (unless her entire arc this show was to become the villain then I'm all on board) and I'm fairly into Jon and Sansa becoming King and Queen of the North. Shut up and let me live! The final season of this show won't air until 2019 so if you haven't seen Game of Thrones yet, it's the perfect time to binge it!

Arrow

Coming in at number 2 is Arrow! Duh. It's my baby. It's the show that made me fall in love with the Arrowverse. It's the show that started it all. Now I know some seasons have been real low but this past season 5 kicked the show into high gear and I've been loving season 6 so far! Hmm what can I say that I haven't already said? I love Oliver as a leader and all of Team Arrow (including the newbies who I really fell in love with as the season went on) and the Olicity relationship and the fight choreography and how grounded this show is compared to the other Arrowverse shows! I love the villains and the storylines we get and how much of a family Team Arrow is compared to Supergirl or even the Flash. I'm always going to have a soft spot in my heart for this show and I'm thrilled that it's been so great so far this season as well cause I always want nothing more than for this show to kill it! Click here to see my other Arrow thoughts and reviews! The second half of season 6 comes back in January!

Agents Of SHIELD

And now for the moment of truth! My number 1 show of 2017 is Agents of SHIELD!!!! Second year in a row at the top spot! What can I say other than I don't know what I'd do without this show! I've always adored SHIELD even when everyone else on the internet bashed it but this past season and the season that's currently airing was so epically amazing that now everyone is on board and I'm over here like dudes it's been great for ages now! Ugh these characters are my babies now and I love so much that it's easier to just rapid fire it! I love the characters, the relationships (both platonic and romantic), the plots, how well written each plot is and how connected it is to the next, the inhuman powers, the time travel, the aliens, the spying. I'm not joking when I say EVERYTHING. I literally cannot think of a single thing I'd change about this show other than maybe bringing back some characters we lost like Bobbi and Hunter and Robbie but again, I can live. I never feel like an episode is dragging and I'm constantly left wanting more! I CANNOT RAVE ENOUGH! Check out my other SHIELD thoughts and reviews here! The second half of season 5 is airing now so go watch it!

And with that final show, I am done with my top 10 tv shows of 2017! I hope you enjoyed it and again, I hope you had a wonderful New Year! I'll see you all soon for my weekly reviews!

xoxo Allie
