The Flash Season 5 Episode 11 Review

Tonight was a fun episode of the Flash and leagues more interesting than last week's.

Nora was benched this week cause she was attacked by Cicada and his dark matter dagger thing stopped her speed healing so she spent a lot of the episode paralyzed which was really heartbreaking to watch but also a nice nod back to when Barry lost the use of his legs back in season 2 I think. It was a really well acted scene when Nora woke up and realized that she couldn't move and her calling out for her mom and being so scared felt so real. I loved that it caused Barry to dig down deep into his anger cause how could he not be when his daughter was so hurt and that it caused Iris to go all mama bear on Sherloque when she realized he was studying her. It's going to be super awkward when the team finds out that she's been working with Eobard though I'm sure they'll be able to forgive her cause I'm sure Eobard is manipulating her to think that they're doing something good.

It also kind of sucks that Cicada now knows that XS is Flash's daughter cause Barry shouted at him that he should stay away from his daughter though Cicada still doesn't know their identities so maybe it's not the worst thing yet. I'm also a bit annoyed that Killer Frost being able to use her powers wasn't as much of a leg up as it could have been. It drives me mad how powers on tv shows always become so much stronger when they're used villainously than not. Literally why can't she freeze Cicada from top to bottom and keep him from moving? I do like the idea that if she freezes the dagger that it no longer works so if they try this next time with more than just Flash, maybe they can capture him. Also it drives me mad that every time they get a leg up on Cicada that they don't just slap anti-meta cuffs on him! They do this for every other meta but just cause Cicada is the "Big Bad" he doesn't deserve them?

I do really like the idea though that the way to stop Cicada might be through healing Grace cause it's definitely a different approach. I'm sure Caitlin would be able to help cause she is the smartest doctor on this show.

Speaking of Caitlin, she and Killer Frost were having a bit of a back-and-forth tonight cause Killer Frost was really against Caitlin helping Cisco with the meta-cure and she wouldn't tell Caitlin why. Eventually Ralph got her to open up and as expected it was due to KF being scared that Caitlin would use the cure on herself one day and that because of that KF would no longer be able to protect Caitlin. Luckily Ralph was able to convince her that Caitlin loves KF just as much as she loves Caitlin and that she would never want the cure since when KF was gone, Caitlin spent all her time trying to get her back and honestly guys something about how much Caitlin and KF love each other is so precious. KF was also able to get a DNA sample from Cicada which was exactly what Caitlin and Cisco needed for their meta-cure so that's still going.

Cisco was oddly not in the episode cause he doing meta research in Caitlin's dad's old lab and they didn't really explain why he was gone other than probably logistics. Honestly of all the cast, Carlos who plays Cisco seems the most over this show and I wouldn't be surprised if he got written off at some point.

Next week looks amazing! We finally might be able to see Nora's life as she grew up and the reveal of her working with Eobard which I'm pumped for! I also think it's kind of hilarious that Sherloque is allowed to be one of the few to enter Nora's mind. Like it's her parents and then him.

I'll see you all Friday for my weekly drama reviews!

xoxo Allie
