Agents of SHIELD Season 4 Episode 12 Review

I thought this week's episode was going to be a lot of fun but more of a filler episode. That was not the case. A lot happened in this week's episode and it was amazing! Let's get into it!

So firstly ZACH MCGOWAN IS THE SUPERIOR!!! Why is he in like everything I watch recently? First Black Sails, then the 100 and now Agents of SHIELD. I know he's the villain and he's all racist and against inhumans and he's supposed to be a terrible person but I couldn't stop fangirling over him. God he's so hot and buff and his fake Russian accent made me laugh (not that it sounded fake but that I knew it was fake cause I've heard his real American accent). Anyway that's enough of that. I'll be serious now. Okay so it was kinda disappointing that the reasoning behind why the Superior hates inhumans is just basically jealousy in that they have powers and he doesn't. So lame. I was hoping that the Superior had a bigger badder plan and that he was just using Nadeer and the Watchdogs. Oh and apparently he doesn't trust machines either. Sigh. Also what the hell was up with him wanting Coulson? I am so utterly confused. He thinks that Coulson is the reason for everything? God what a moron.

I did enjoy Radcliffe and the LMDs this episode. I think it was fun how Radcliffe was able to figure out where the Darkhold was by mapping Billy's brain and seeing his memories although I didn't know that he could do that... There has to be a way to undo what the Darkhold did right cause despite Radcliffe doing bad things, he's still not a bad person by trying to avoid torture or killing. How hilarious was Billy when he turned to Radcliffe and was like I can't do torture, do you have cyanide or something. I loved how the Superior was shocked that AIDA was a LMD although why his first thought about AIDA fighting like a badass was that she was inhuman was weird. May fights like that and Daisy can fight like that without powers. Also do we think Radcliffe will give up Coulson just because the Superior wants him? And why didn't Radcliffe take LMD May with him? Like I know she served her purpose but wouldn't having another badass LMD at his side be a good thing?

Our team had a few bumps along the way. Poor Coulson finally made his move only to figure out May was a LMD. Something about this relationship just doesn't work for me. It was skeezy now because we all knew that May wasn't really May but I don't know if I like the idea of real May and Coulson together. The Koenigs turned out just to be brothers instead of clones or LMDs or something. Sam's interactions with Daisy were amazing. I loved him fangirling over Quake and talking about the fanfiction he read about her and I loved how Daisy was like Sam you've known me for three years why are you acting weird. The Koenig sister was awesome too. I also liked how Daisy came in and blasted May and was all so May's a robot and was so confused. I'm really really glad they figured out May was a LMD so quickly cause I could only handle so many episodes of LMD May spying. We have enough villains, we don't need moles too.

Now let's go back to the base and my poor baby Fitz. Did we ever know about Fitz's dad before this cause I feel like I don't remember anything about that... Now that he's been mentioned, how long until he shows up on the show do we think? I'd say we'll see him by the end of the season but I might be wrong. I loved how protective Jemma and Mack got about Fitz and I will never be tired of them being all mama bear about him. I also liked how the show brought up Ward's betrayal cause I was hoping they wouldn't forget about that huge thing that affected Fitz so much. Also it totally makes sense now why Fitz was so upset about Daisy leaving if his father abandoned him. And I say this over and over but I love how damn smart Fitz and Simmons are. Jemma realized immediately that May was a LMD because Radcliffe mapped out her brain when she was touched by that ghost which I completely forgot about. Now it makes so much sense how Radcliffe was also to replace May in a few minutes! I also really like the conversation LMD Radcliffe had with Mack about what really makes a person human. I hope we get more of this from more than just Fitz.

In case you couldn't tell, I loved this episode. It looks like we might be trying to say May next episode and I hope we get her back! I'm also waiting for Robbie to come back because I hope he does at least once before the season is over. This season is giving me major final season vibes and I really really hope that isn't the case cause I don't know what I'd do without my weekly Agents of SHIELD dose.

Tune in for my Arrow review tomorrow night!

The Flash Season 3 Episode 11 Review

Tonight's episode of the Flash felt like another kinda filler episode with little bits of plot moving forward thrown in. Despite that, I really enjoyed this episode (probably cause Barry wasn't the main focus).

Let's start with HR. I really liked Gypsy this episode and her with Cisco was adorable although I loved how Caitlin called him out for liking the "villains" although she's one to talk with Hunter!! Is is just me or does it still seem like Harry is hiding something from the group? I still don't trust him and I feel like I'll continue feeling this way until the end of the season or until he really proves himself trustworthy. It's probably not a fair feeling because I'm sure the only reason I don't trust him is cause of season 1 and 2 Harrison Wells being sketchy but then again Gypsy made it sound like what HR did was much worse than simply traveling to a different Earth.... I really enjoyed HR with Wally so I hope we get more of that soon. Back to Cisco though. It was fun finally seeing him use his powers again cause honestly he doesn't get enough usage out of them and unlike Caitlin isn't going to be evil when he uses them so I don't know why he's sidelined so often. I hope he becomes more badass soon. I also liked the joke of Gypsy bringing back a ton of coffee because there isn't any on her Earth. How sad for them. I could not live without coffee.

As I predicted, Julian was a fun addition to the team at Star Labs although I'm starting to feel like there's too many people here which is why I was glad the show finally gave Iris something to do and everyone was off doing their own things so the lab was less crowded. His snarky comments were amazing and I still love when he and Caitlin interact. I hope this continues and he keeps bringing something new to the team with a less emotional look at everything. He's the only one who looks at things scientifically cause he doesn't know and love everyone like the rest do.

Speaking of Iris, I was so so so so so so glad that the show FINALLY remembered that Iris was more than just Barry's girlfriend and gave her something to do for the first time this season even though it was kind of lame and ended super quickly. I loved the scene where she walked straight up to the guy with the gun and said that she wasn't afraid to die. It was amazing and super badass. I was also glad that she had the foresight to bring Wally along because even when she's emotional and trying to prove something, she's still smart enough to realize that she does need some super-powered backup. I love when Wally and Iris get to interact. I also died of laughter at Iris and Joe's conversation when Iris was distracting Joe and how he thought she was pregnant. His reaction was the absolute best. Also I still love Barry and Iris together and I loved their scene in the apartment when Barry was teasing Iris by reading her article five times to make her tense.

Wally was also pretty awesome this episode and I loved how it took Barry almost the whole episode to figure out how to beat Savitar when I realized a second after Julian mentioned how Barry would never be fast enough although maybe that's cause I love Wally so damn much both in the comics and in the show. Wally is faster than Barry in the comics and Savitar is his villain not Barry's so it kinda makes sense that Wally might be Barry's ace in the hole. I still love how excited Wally is to be Kid Flash but it still irritates me that everyone gets mad at him whenever he takes some initiative and goes to do something. If Barry did it, no one would be upset but if Wally does it, everyone's up in arms.

Anyway loved this episode and I look forward to next week's cause more Wally!!! I think I've decided that I'm not a huge fan of Barry heavy or Barry-centric episodes and those are the ones that I like the least cause I don't like broody Barry.

Keep an eye out for my Agents of SHIELD review later tonight!

Supergirl Season 2 Episode 10 Quick Thoughts

I'm sorry for this in advance but I will not be able to do a full in depth review of this week's Supergitl but here are my quick thoughts!

I really liked the stuff with M'gann and J'onn because I need the two to be besties and do all sort of Martian stuff together! I also loved the small domestic moments we got from Maggie and Alex. I get where Kara was coming from when she got angry with James and Winn for being the Guardian but at the same time, why wouldn't James join the DEO and train with them a little to make Kara feel better about the situation cause the DEO are humans that fight on the streets? I did really like when James, Mon El and Kara were all back to back in the warehouse. #Squadgoals amirite? But what I didn't like was James being an ass to Mon about being a frat boy. It makes sense though cause James isn't around the DEO a lot so all he knows about Mon is what he saw in the very beginning.

Speaking of Mon, I really liked the talk Mon El and Kara had although it was more like Mon El talked and Kara sat there. I also liked how he was like it's okay if you don't like me because my feelings are my own problem, not yours unlike when Winn confessed his feelings about Kara and then got upset about it when she didn't return those feelings. I definitely think Kara likes him too but isn't in the place right now to deal with her feelings that or she just doesn't know how she feels. I do not think this is the end of them and I'm sure it'll come up again when the people who are hunting Mon El reappear.

Arrow Season 5 Episode 10 Review

Arrow came back tonight and just as I thought, it was a great episode! Mostly because Katie Cassidy was back and kicking ass! Let's get into it!

I totally knew it guys that the Laurel that appeared in the bunker was Earth 2 Laurel aka Black Siren cause she was totally on Earth 1 so it was super easy to bring her back. Although what I'm curious about is how did Prometheus know that Earth 2 Laurel was in the Pipeline in Central City? Is there a Arrowverse memo that goes out with updates or something? It's not common news so like how? Maybe he kept his ear to the ground and saw footage from Central City about the Flash fighting Black Siren and then saw she looked like our Laurel? Also how did she know that Sara was on the timeship? Plot armor I think. Whatever the reason it was fun to have her back and is it just me or does Katie Cassidy play a much much better villain than hero? I was glad that the show didn't drag out the mystery of whether she was Earth 1 Laurel or not. I did like how nonchalant Oliver and Felicity were about her return while Rene was like she just came back from the dead, how are you so cool and Oliver was all it's happened before, the Lance sisters come back. I really hope Earth 2 Laurel didn't call Quentin like she did Thea. That poor man doesn't deserve this.

It was heartbreaking how much Oliver wanted to help Earth 2 Laurel and it's so weird as a viewer cause we know Earth 1 and Earth 2 are not the same cause we watch the Flash (look at Earth 1 and 2 Caitlin or Cisco) but it's a whole different thing for the cast of Arrow who haven't dealt with this kind of stuff before. I wonder if we'll see Earth 2 Laurel become more like Earth 1 Laurel the way Oliver believes it or if she'll disappear for a while like before? Since the show is recruiting a new Black Canary, it seems like it'll be the latter. While we're talking about a new Black Canary, who was that woman we saw at the end with a Canary Cry? Is she a meta from Central City? The particle accelerator is the only thing on this Earth that would make powers appear....

I loved everything we got from Felicity tonight. The writing for her was much better. Last season she would have snapped at Oliver over and over about Billy every time they had a disagreement in order to get the last word in so I was super thankful when she only brought him up once or twice and it wasn't during a fight. I'm also enjoying this reversal of roles between Oliver and Felicity in that Felicity is now the bitter one and Oliver is trying to be more positive. I laughed when the team listened to Felicity over Oliver and then Rene said that mom and dad were fighting. Guys Stephen Amell does this thing whenever Oliver talks to Felicity where he softens his voice and no matter if he's pissed or frustrated, he keeps this soft voice around her and it makes me melt. He doesn't talk to anyone else like that. It was fun seeing that Felicity is still training a little cause we haven't seen that since like season 2 and it was fun to see her punch Earth 2 Laurel. I also liked how protective Oliver was around her when Earth 2 Laurel was attacking. Her conversation with Earth 2 Laurel was pretty great too.

Poor Curtis was also going through some stuff since Paul left and he opened up to Rene about how he felt useless out in the field and all it did was lead to him losing Paul. I feel like he's one step closer to inventing the T-spheres. Be like Ray Curtis! If you can't physically fight, invent things to fight!

Diggle was also in a mess this week. He was back in jail and the general who framed him was trying to get him transferred but basically murdered so he couldn't tell his story. Chase was super badass here when he used the law to circumvent the military and keep Diggle in Star City. I hope this whole thing gets wrapped up pretty quickly cause I'm really not interested in this framing Diggle storyline. I especially was not a fan of the general posturing around about having the District Attorney's number or being bffs with the President. Maybe the President should know that Diggle is Spartan and helped save the day from the Dominators and get a pardon! That'd solve everything.

Anyway loved this episode and I can't wait until next week!

Agents of SHIELD Season 4 Episode 11 Review

Another amazing episode of SHIELD aired tonight and guys I was on the edge of my seat the whole back-half! So intense!!! Let's get into it shall we?

So I totally knew the real May was under a simulation from the very beginning cause it only made sense based on last week's episode! May was only relaxed when she's fighting so instead of a spa retreat, a battle is smarter. Although I loved how even the simulation wasn't enough to combat May cause she could feel that something was wrong. But my heart literally broke for her in the end when Radcliffe realized the only way to keep May under was to bring her back to the one point in her life where she changed and create a new ending and it was Baharain! When she called Andrew to tell him that she saved the girl, tears everywhere. The LMD May was being all weird the whole episode and I kept wondering why she didn't just admit what happened to someone. It never even occurred to me until Radcliffe explained it that she would be programmed against revealing herself as a LMD. I definitely think she'll find a way to reveal it though subtle it may be cause even if she's an LMD, she's still programmed to be May.

I was also really glad with where the show took Fitz and AIDA l.0 and Jemma. Last week I said that I thought Fitz would be able to figure out nothing was wrong with AIDA 1.0 but that before he figured it out, it would lead to a huge thing between him and Jemma because she was so against even looking at AIDA 1.0 so when it only took one episode for Fitz to figure out Radcliffe was behind everything, I was thrilled. Since this wasn't dragged out, Jemma can't be too upset at Fitz for lying cause he wasn't keeping secrets for too long and he was able to find out who the mole was and save the day. But let me tell you, I was a bit terrified when he went to confront Radcliffe cause I had a weird feeling that he might be the second LMD and guys seriously I would have lost it if that was true. FITZ IS MY BABY AND NO ONE CAN TOUCH HIM. But it was also heartbreaking when he confronted Radcliffe and talked about how he had hoped that this time when he got close to someone, they wouldn't betray him aka Ward and kinda S2 Mack.

It makes no sense that Radcliffe was the mole cause like why would he go to Nadeer and the Watchdogs? I get self preservation but why not just go into hiding or something? Is it just because Nadeer is fighting SHIELD right now and since SHIELD is not a fan of him, he figured the enemy of my enemy is my friend? It just seems weird but I guess Radcliffe is less worried with morals or opinions than just doing his thing. HIVE, SHIELD, Watchdogs, whatever lets him do his thing, he'll take. Through LMD May he was able to tip Nadeer off that SHIELD was going to bug her office which allowed Nadeer to rake SHIELD over the coals yet again. Someone needs to smack her smug face like yesterday. Also where's Vijay?

They also revealed that Hope was actually Mack's daughter who died 11 years ago and that's where he disappeared to during the episode. This was a weird piece of information to give and I wonder if we'll see more of this cause as much as Mack's backstory is a question mark, shows only reveal pieces of the past when you're either first meeting a character or when something from the past is coming up in the future. I wonder how it connects.

So overall I really liked this episode. It was better than last week's but not as good at the midseason premiere. Next week's episode looks like a bit of a filler episode but that's okay cause it looks like fun! I love the Koenig brothers and I can't wait to find out why there are so many of them that look alike.

Tune in tomorrow for my Arrow review!

Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 9 Review

Legends of Tomorrow came back tonight and despite the storyline being kinda boring, I freaking loved this episode because of how funny it was. Also it literally had Star Wars in it and how can I not love something with Star Wars?? Let's get into it.

Stein caught Mick talking to his Leonard hallucination and Mick opened up to him about what was happening. I thought this was a one-time thing but apparently not... Stein thought that maybe a ghost of Leonard was floating around space talking to Mick through a receiver that the Time Masters implanted in him but I had my doubts cause Leonard would never tell Mick that he should leave the Waverider unless he came from the past so I thought maybe the Legion picked up Leonard from the past and brought him to freak Mick out. That would have been fun but it ended up being just Mick's own doubts coming to him in the form of Leonard. Guys I miss him and I hope they figure out a way to bring him back.... But this lead to the best interactions between Stein and Mick with the rest of the team. When Stein told Sara that Mick had a migraine and then when Jax and Sara walked in on Stein doing brain surgery, I died of laughter.

I never thought I'd love Nate as much as I do now and my feelings towards him constantly waver cause sometimes I think he's hilarious and other times, he's childish. In tonight's episode, I leaned towards the former and loved every second he and Ray and Amaya were on screen. Ray and Nate play off of each other so well and I loved Ray constantly telling Nate that he and Amaya were not together at the beginning. I also liked seeing the Star Wars references in this episode that George Lucas clearly took and used in A New Hope! Despite everyone on the team thinking it was silly, I thought it was sweet that Nate and Ray became who they were based on Lucas' films. Movies inspire people.

Rip has apparently been brainwashed somehow with some sort of time drive that caused all his memories to be repressed. I thought it was funny that he made a movie out of everything that happened to the Legends. Also hilarious was the whole sequence in the jail when Sara, Stein and Mick broke him out. I wonder how long these effects will last cause obviously they'll go away at some point and I wonder if this is yet another way to bring Leonard back (I'm not sorry). It did suck in the end though when the Legion captured him and will torture him. I'm sure he'll be saved next week though.

Speaking of the Legion, it's kinda funny to see them cause they're literally two regular people and one superpowered person. When they were fighting the Legends at the dump, they were so overpowered until Eobard showed up which makes me wonder why Eobard picked them over other superpowered villains other than the writers wanted them. Also I need an explanation as to from what time Merlyn appeared and where everyone in present day Star City thinks he is.

Also the friendship between Sara and Jax is so sweet and I'm loving how they've been acting as the parents for the Legends this season!

Anyway I thought this episode was hilarious and a ton of fun, so much so that it takes your mind away from how the plot sucked and just makes you enjoy what you're watching. That's the best thing about Legends and the only way to watch it!

Keep an eye out for my Agents of SHIELD review later tonight!

The Flash Season 3 Episode 10 Review

The Flash returned tonight and it was an okay return. I've been so apathetic to the Flash this season and I really wish I weren't cause there's a lot of interesting ideas that the show likes to tease but they never truly live up to the expectations. This week's episode was fun though despite nothing really happening. It felt like a heavy setting up the board episode.

So up first, Barry was acting like an ass as usual cause he was stressed about Iris dying. He attacked Wally for wanting to be a hero and saving his life from Plunder because he thought if he let Plunder go, Iris may not die. Luckily this secrecy didn't last for longer than a few minutes and Barry came clean to Iris and then to everyone else. I'm glad he did cause the team works the best when they all collaborate and come up with plans together. I also liked the news headlines that they saw in the future! They should be fun plot points. Who caught the Music Meister one and smiled? Also Iris is totally not okay and she's probably going to have a meltdown in the future no matter what she tells Barry. But I get it cause she can't go to Barry with her worries cause that'll just worry him more so maybe Wally or Caitlin would lend an ear?

Speaking of headlines, there was one about Killer Frost being on the loose and I'm so sick and tired of this no explanation thing on why ice powers turn you evil. Whatever. I'm excited to see what happens cause I love Caitlin and I'm thrilled she has something to do this season besides romance. And right after I say that, let me also say that I'm really liking this Julian and Caitlin thing. I don't know if it's meant to read romantic but I'm getting that vibe. I liked how she was the one to go to him and ask for help and how she convinced him (and then the others) to join Team Flash. It was also sweet when he and Cisco worked together to make a solar powered snowflake necklace to charge those bracelets. How hilarious was it when her bracelets lost power and she literally had to plug herself into the wall using what looked like a macbook charger? I can't wait until Robbie Amell comes back cause I'm interested in what Ronnie will be doing and how Caitlin will react. I would love it if he came back permanently but with Stein gone, who knows?

Wally was super precious all episode and I love him so much. He was so happy when he was saving the day and it's just what the show needs right now to combat the broodiness of Barry. It's refreshing to see someone who loves to be a hero! I hope that Wally will be able to take some of the comic book storylines onto the show cause in the comics, he is faster than Barry and becomes super well versed with the Speed Force cause he spends a lot of time studying it. Studying the speedforce would be a fun storyline to separate him from Barry and keep Wally from just being the backup.

And the last storyline has to do with the Star Labs Museum. I was so sure that this museum storyline would turn into the Flash Museum and I still think that's where this is going cause I don't know how many people would want to see Star Labs cause like everyone hates it for the particle accelerator but it was cute seeing Cisco finally stepping on board and fixing HR's museum problems. Also that person in the end, is totally either the partner who was helping Wells or the real one cause I've never trusted HR!

So overall this was an okay episode. I feel like nothing really happens each week and that's kinda sad. I know shows need to slow down once in a while to focus on the characters but these superhero shows also need some sort of action too and I feel like the Flash has been all about the slow burn all season and I keep waiting for the payoff. Anyway, next week's episode looks better and I hope it's more fun than this week's!

Tune into my Agents of SHIELD and Legends of Tomorrow reviews later tonight!

Supergirl Season 2 Episode 9 Review

WE ARE FINALLY BACK GUYS! It feels like it's been forever and a day since we've seen Supergirl and what a great episode to come back on! I keep saying that Supergirl is the best DCTV show I watch and after this episode I feel like it's probably because I am so in love with the aliens and the other planets that this show gives cause it's so different from all the other shows! Plus Melissa as Kara is literally the absolute best. Now let's get into this amazing episode!!

So let's start with Alex and Maggie first. Their domestic bliss was precious and I loved how happy Alex was. Alex isn't happy enough and I was grinning the whole time she was bouncing around the screen in love. I was also glad the argument between Alex and Maggie was solved pretty quickly cause there's nothing I hate more than dragged out drama. Families are sore spots and when you're in a relationship, you can't take arguments/anger seriously when it comes to family. I'm looking at you Olicity. Alex and Kara are still the sweetest and I wish the show would give them more moments cause it's been a while since the two of them could be together and happy. I do love when Alex and the DEO storm somewhere and help Supergirl so that was fun!!

Also did you notice how little J'onn there was tonight? He's always hovering around in the background so it kinda threw me when he didn't appear until later on... I hope we are able to follow up with M'gann and the White Martian storyline in the future!

Next up let's talk about Winn! I still don't like Winn working with Guardian storyline cause I understand why James needs to be out on the streets but I still don't understand why Winn does. What he does with Guardian, he can do at the DEO with better tech with Supergirl. But whatever, we're just supposed to believe he's being fulfilled out there so I'll go with it. His PTSD from being attacked made total sense but I was glad that this only went on for one episode and he was able to pick himself up and be able to go back out in the field. Like I've probably said before, I love that storylines on Supergirl don't drag longer than they should!

Now onto the meat of the episode. Roulette was back tonight and she was running a human trafficking ring on a Slaver Moon which sells slaves to other planets like Daxam (wink wink nudge nudge). Guys how much obvious is this show going to make it that Mon El is the Prince of Daxam they keep talking about? Anyway Kara was feeling all sad cause she's used to fighting aliens and solving big problems and now all she's doing is stopping bank robbers so she jumped at the missing person's case. I completely agreed with Mon here about her looking for trouble. It led to another fun moment where we got to see Kara be the amazing person she is because even on a planet with a red sun where she had no powers, she still stood up and tried to help!

It was even enough to seduce Mon El onto the hero side. I can't wait until we get his costume! Also I kinda wish he would tell Kara the truth cause after tonight, he has to know that his past is catching up with him so it's better to get out in front of it before the last minute so it doesn't seem like he's trying to save his own ass. Also I couldn't stop laughing when he and Kara were in the lab and trying to explain why they came in and their combined goofiness was too much!! I don't know how people say that he's boring cause he's so interesting to me! This is his very own becoming a hero storyline! The argument that the show has become about him is irritating too cause I don't think that's true at all. I feel like the show is pretty good at balancing all the characters and giving each of them something to do. Besides when someone says this, it's just because they don't like the character cause if attention was given to another character they like, it wouldn't be a problem.

Anyway loved this episode and again, I'm glad that Roulette wasn't killed or jailed cause I love her and I want her to be a continuous villain for Supergirl. The best thing about comics is how villains always come back and I need to see that on these shows! I also want to know more about Daxam and Mon El and why that Dominator bowed to Mon El and why he was even there. Oh and are we going to see Dominators on this Earth?? I can't wait until next week!

Make sure to tune into my Flash, Legends of Tomorrow and Agents of SHIELD reviews tomorrow!

New Winter 2017 Shows - Emerald City, Victoria, Medici and Versailles

Hey guys so as promised after my winter schedule list, here are my thoughts on the new winter 2017 shows. Fair warning though, since I watched the full seasons for all the shows on this list but Emerald City, my recommendations for those shows may be more detailed or actually tell you how I felt while Emerald City is a bit more vague due to me just starting the season. I tried to avoid spoilers! Enjoy!

So up first is Emerald City which airs on Fridays at 9 PM on NBC! I was pretty excited to check out this show cause I like the story of the Wizard of Oz and the trailers for this show made it seem as though the show was going to be a much darker telling added to the fact that I was itching for new shows to check out! When the two-hour pilot aired (which btw wasn't a real two part pilot but actually just two episodes aired back to back), I was interested but not hooked as of yet but then I enjoyed the third episode a lot better. Despite this, I'm not sure if I like this show yet. Most of the characters are fine but nothing to write home about and I am ironically more interested in the mythology of the world than what's happening. Like is it bad that I want this show to be about Dorothy learning magic from the other witches rather than the original story of her trying to get home? Also who else thinks the Wizard is totally evil? Although to be fair, this may be because the actor who plays him was the villain on Daredevil so I'm programmed to see him that way... I'm also curious about Tip and who she really is and why she was hidden from the world. Maybe she's the rightful ruler of Oz and not the Wizard? I probably will continue to check out this show cause there's only ten episodes this season so why not? Definitely check it out if you have any interest in the story of Oz!

Next up is Victoria! I actually saw a trailer for it on PBS so I watched the pilot when it aired and then I found out that this show had already aired a full season in England and all 8 episodes were online so because I have no self control, I ended up binging the whole season in two days! And I loved it! Starting out, I sort of knew the story of Queen Victoria so color me surprised, when rather than seeing Victoria be a badass or seeing her fall in love with Albert, the first three episodes were all about her infatuation with the Prime Minister. Despite him being very attractive, I was not into watching Victoria chase him like a puppy. Girl was real thirsty and I almost dropped the show because of how cringy the whole thing was but then episode four came around and Albert swooped in. His chemistry with Victoria saved this show for me because the politics of this show didn't really catch me like it did in other period tv shows. This show actually reminded me a lot of Reign and the chemistry between Francis and Mary. Mary loved Francis with all her soul and Victoria loved Albert the same. Seeing them made my heart smile and every time Albert smoldered on screen, I had to fan myself. I'm sorry if you expected a more logical review of this show but I'm just telling it how I saw it!! I definitely recommend you check this show out if you like period tv shows or want to watch two people with amazing chemistry fall in love!

The next show I checked out was Medici: Masters of Florence! So I know I'm a little late to the party here with this show cause it aired in December on Netflix and in Italy in October but what can I say other than I saw this in mid December and it was on my list to be watched but I didn't get around to it until now! There were multiple reasons why I wanted to check out this show. Firstly I love period dramas so I try to watch every single one I find cause I love most of them. Secondly, Richard Madden was the main character and hello how can you not watch something with him in it. And finally, I am very interested in the Medici family and Italy during this time period because of my love for Catherine de Medici in Reign and Italy in the Borgias! I loved this show and sped through the episodes in a day! I loved the characters and how smart and badass they all were. I loved watching Cosimo and Contessina outsmart their enemies and seeing their subtle love! I loved learning about the beginning of the Medici clan and seeing it all play out! Even though history tells us what happens, the politics was nail-biting. There will be a second season and I'm looking forward to seeing it! Also how hilarious did Richard Madden look with his old guy make up?

And the last show I checked out so far was Versailles! This is another show that aired abroad in 2015 or 2016 depending on the country but was also added to Netflix in December. Again I wanted to check this show out because it was a period drama and set in France whose monarchy I was interested in because of The Musketeers and Reign again. Honestly if there's a period show about royalty, I'm on board 100% regardless of what country it's set in! I love history so these kind of shows are my bread and butter. Unfortunately this show was not as great as the others. I did watch all 10 episodes but more because I didn't want to stop in the middle rather than being interested in the show. None of the characters really called out to me and the plot was sometimes so-so and other times so very slow and boring. It got to the point where I kept looking at the episode left count and wondering why the show wasn't over yet. The only character I sympathized with was Henrietta and then the finale happened. I kept hoping that they'd give her some happiness with her husband because I'm a sucker for that stuff but nope. Louis XIV confused me from very early on and I was never able to love him like I should. What kind of king in that time forgave his wife not only for infidelity but for actually birthing some other man's child? She should have been beheaded for treason or something. I'm not condoning this, I'm just stating the facts based on the time period. Instead Louis was pissed for like a little while before actually going back to her! And the kicker was that he didn't even love her so it just made him look like a pushover. All he did the whole show was sleep around and piss off his brother who I liked more than him. Honestly I probably will watch the next season whenever it airs because despite not loving this show, I didn't hate it either.

Well that's all for now! Keep an eye out for another one of these winter show reviews in February for a few more shows that I'm going to check out!

Period TV Shows Set in Chronological Order

Hi everyone!! One of my first tv shows has always been period dramas. I love the sweeping costumes and beautiful romances that they portray but if you're like me, you also like to know the correct chronological order for the shows you watch.  So without further ado, I'm going to list all the period shows that I have watched or heard of and place them in correct order they appeared in history. Some of these are more historical than others so keep that in mind if you want to watch them!

Vikings (Begins in 793)

Medici: Masters of Florence (Begins in 1434)

The White Queen (Begins in 1464)

The White Princess (Begins in 1485)

The Borgias (Begins in 1492)

The Spanish Princess (Begins in 1501)

The Tudors (Begins in 1518)

The Serpent Queen (Set in 1533)

Reign (Begins in 1557)
*Less historical fiction than historical homage with the costumes and such*

The Musketeers (Begins in the 1630s)

Versailles (Begins in 1667)

Black Sails (Begins in the 1730s)

Outlander (Begins in 1743)

The Great (Begins in late 1700s)

TURN: Washington's Spies (Begins in 1776)

Poldark (Begins in 1783)

Bridgerton (Begins in 1813)
*Watch this one as more of a parallel historical fantasy*

Victoria (Begins in 1837)

The Paradise (Begins in 1875)

Murdoch Mysteries (Begins in 1895)

The Alienist (Begins in 1896)

Downton Abbey (Begins in 1912)

Peaky Blinders (Begins in 1918)

Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries (Set in the 1920s)

Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Begins in 1958)

Fun Facts:

Personally I would watch The White Queen, The White Princess, The Spanish Princess, and The Tudors back to back and then watch The Borgias afterwards cause those four shows take place over 3 different English royals and it makes more sense to watch the shows with characters we've already met and then jump over to Italy and what was happening there at the time. Many of the same characters are in all four shows though none of the actors except one reprise their roles.

The Borgias takes place three generations after Cosimo de Medici ruled Florence although the Medici are not really a huge part of The Borgias.

Reign is set just a few years after the Tudors in that the characters in Reign might have appeared in Tudors or were one or two generations of descendants from characters that appeared in the Tudors. Mary Tudor is mentioned and Elizabeth Tudor is a main character in the later seasons of Reign. Also Catherine de Medici is five generations descended from Cosimo de Medici.

I'd also recommend watching The Serpent Queen and Reign back to back given that Catherine de Medici who is the lead of The Serpent Queen is also a main character in Reign as Francis's mother.

Reign and Bridgerton are the least historically accurate on this list but are still fun to throw yourself into.

Versailles is set in the generation after the Musketeers in that King Louis XIV was the son of Anne of Austria and Louis XII from the Musketeers although no characters appear in both shows other than Louis XIV and Anne of Austria in a flashback (again not played by the same actors.)

Poldark begins right as the American Civil War comes to an end so it's a nice tie-in to TURN: Washington's Spies cause you can imagine that Ross was running around at the same time as our beloved American characters.

I hope you enjoyed this! It's fun to watch these shows chronologically cause you'll catch a lot of hints that tie these shows together! I always find myself wanting to know where a show falls in history so I can know what makes the characters who they are! If I missed any, let me know down below. I might have just forgotten them or I've never seen that show!

Agents of SHIELD Season 4 Episode 10 Review (+ Episode 9 Quick Thoughts)

Hey guys!! Soooo I apologize again for being MIA recently and being unable to review the midseason premiere of SHIELD so I'll do a quick paragraph about what I loved before getting into this episode.

I was really worried about this half of the season because like I've said over and over, I don't love robots so I was worried that the show would go from the amazingness that was the Ghost Rider to what season 3 of The 100 was but after watching the episode, I felt a lot better. Not only was the shift from Ghost Rider to LMD completely effortless but I really enjoyed the twist of Radcliff actually being the one behind AIDA's change rather than AIDA herself. I don't believe that Radcliff was always evil but that the Darkhold amplified the worst part of him. My favorite part of the episode was Mack and YoYo running around the base making robot jokes and when Mack "killed" AIDA and said roll credits, I couldn't stop laughing. The B storyline with Senator Nadeer and Vijay was also interesting although I don't know why Vijay would go with his sister at the end when he knew that she was trying to kill him even if she was family. I definitely don't think he's dead and I'm looking forward to seeing more from him. I wonder if his inhuman power is something like adaption so he adapts to the situation? That would explain why he could suddenly fight and then crystallized to heal his bullet wound. It was definitely an amazing return!

Now let's get into this week's episode which was also fun.

First of all let me say, I FREAKING KNEW IT! I called it from episode 5 that Mace was no inhuman! And I was right! Also his whole Vienna secret was so so lame! He tripped and fell over a woman causing him to look like a hero? God Mace sucks so hard. I knew from the moment that the briefcase got important this episode (I have literally never seen it before but I probably wasn't paying close enough attention cause I would be the worst spy) that it had something that he had to take for his powers. I thought for a second that maybe whatever was in the case would prevent him from hulking out but ultimately it was a super soldier serum although I really liked how they used the serum that Daisy's father used rather than something that Bucky used cause that's #Hydra. Speaking of Hydra, I also really liked how they sort of came back for this episode although it was mostly just the grunts working with the Watchdogs although these idiots shouldn't really be working with the Watchdogs cause Hydra likes powered people!

This reveal explains why Mace has always been kind of a terrible director even though I warmed up to him over the course of the season. I always felt he was sketchy and I'm kinda glad they went this route rather than the route of him being a Watchdog or Hydra cause we've literally been there done that way too many times. The ending where Coulson told Mace to be the face of SHIELD but that he was going to call the orders was so damn badass and can we get a round of applause for Coulson!!??

Meanwhile I totally called it that LMD May was subconsciously following orders and thought she was human. Well until the end when she realized there were wires inside her. I was kinda surprised she didn't say anything to Daisy at the end but I guess it makes sense cause she literally just found out and probably needed some time to think. Also is anyone else feeling like the whole May and Coulson thing is a bit heavy-handed? They've always cared for each other but where was this overwhelming fear for Coulson's life coming from? Coulson can take of himself. I'm hoping that this is a LMD thing but then again all the characters are acting like this is normal so maybe I'm just going to have to get used to it.

Real May got out of her simulation which was hilarious to me but was quickly sedated again. I feel like next week's escape shown in the promos is going to be the simulation Radcliffe puts her under. How hilarious was it that the calm simulation AIDA 2.0 gave her actually cause May more anxiety? Also is anyone else getting a vibe from AIDA 2.0 that she's getting annoyed with Radcliffe? Maybe she will go rogue but that wouldn't make much sense cause AIDA 2.0 never saw the Darkhold? More evidence of Radcliffe not being evil was in how he didn't want AIDA 2.0 to kill anyone ever again. I wonder if there's a way to purge the Darkhold from someone's mind? Maybe the Ghost Rider can do it and that's how we'll get him back this half season?

Fitz is still keeping secrets from Jemma because he really wants AIDA to work out for some reason that the show hasn't really explained although the show won't really explain why Jemma's so against it either. They're both scientists, shouldn't they be curious? He downloaded AIDA 1.0's files from the head and I predict that he'll realize that AIDA 1.0 never got corrupted and was only doing what Radcliffe told her. I really dislike that this storyline is what's going to break up or cause tension between Fitzsimmons cause I hate the cliche keeping secrets from the significant other. We've already slugged through this on Arrow with Olicity, we don't need it here. Jemma on the other hand was kinda awesome in the interrogation room when she pretended that she chopped the head off of someone during an interrogation by using AIDA 1.0's head.

It was great seeing Daisy back but I still want a team of inhumans storyline for her. The show keeps talking about inhumans but Daisy and sometimes YoYo are the only ones we get on this show.

Anyway loved this episode although I liked last week's a little better! I can't wait for next week's episode where I'm assuming someone leaked the AIDA takeover to Nadeer? I doubt it was the Mace isn't an inhuman thing cause the only ones who knew that was our main cast and they wouldn't be double agents. Even if LMD May leaked it to Radcliffe, I doubt he'd care enough to tell Nadeer. That's all for now!

Top 10 TV Shows of 2016

Hi everyone! As promised, I'm back with my top 10 favorite tv shows of 2016! Again, this list is based on my personal opinions and may have spoilers. There was a lot of great TV out this year so I'm going to start with some honorable mentions which has some shows that I binged this year but have ended and some shows that are still on air but that just missed the top 10 list! If you want a refresher, check out my Top 10 TV Shows of 2013, my Top 10 TV Shows of 2014, and my Top 10 TV Shows of 2015 lists!

The Tudors

First up is The Tudors! As you know, I freaking love period dramas but I didn't get Netflix until this year so I was literally in heaven and watched basically every single period drama on Netflix (minus one or two) and this one was one of my absolute favorites! I kind of prefer the slice of life in another century shows because I'm not a huge fan of politics in general as it irritates me when the main characters are manipulated but this show had the perfect mix of both politics and slice of life! It was absolutely perfect. I loved watching Henry "fall in love" over and over and seeing actors that I know appear in this show! It was so much fun to watch Henry age and I cannot explain to you enough how perfect the acting, costumes and storylines were! Definitely check it out if you can!

Timeless

Next up on the honorable mentions is Timeless! Now you may remember that this show was one of the few Fall 2016 shows that I decided to check out and I was kinda iffy when it began but as the show continued, it creeped up into my favorites and I didn't even notice until the show was off one week and I realized I missed it a lot when it finally came back! I love the characters and the different time periods and the costumes and the mystery behind who the villains are! Everything you could want from a time travel show can be found here! The slow build between Lucy and Wyatt is great and I love seeing how Rufus has to survive in different time periods with racism being as strong as it is. Flynn is very mysterious and there are times that it makes you wonder if he really is the villain and there's nothing better than a grey villain! Click here to see all my Timeless posts. The second half of season 1 airs on January 16th at 10 PM on NBC!

TURN: Washington's Spies

Looking back on my top 10 lists for the past three years, I've realized how sad it is that Turn: Washington's Spies has never been on my lists. I've been watching and loving this show since it first aired in 2014. Now we're three seasons in and coming up on the final fourth season and I decided that Turn needs the love it so desperately deserves. Seriously guys, this is a show about spies during the American Revolution. The characters are all super badass, the women are so strong, the costumes are excellent, the plot is amazing and the spying is so much fun to watch. The rush you feel when all the cogs fit in place and a piece of information travels all the way from York to Washington's camp is indescribable! All the characters are relatable and the show makes you feel so patriotic to watch! This little gem is so rarely talked about but it deserves all the love. Click here to see all my Turn posts!

And now, let's get into my top 10 tv shows of 2016!

The Musketeers

Coming in at number 10 is.... The Musketeers! This show has been on every one of top 10 lists since this show first aired and there's a great reason for that! This show is incredible! It's fun and serious and comedic and romantic and action-packed. Basically it's everything you could want in a show about the Musketeers. Season 3 just aired and it is the final season of the Musketeers which is unfortunate. It's also ranked a little lower than it was the past two years and that's simply because I didn't like this season as much as the past two. Something about the tone just felt off to me and I don't know what it was. All I know is that season 3 did not give me the same feels as the past two. Season 2 is definitely my favorite. But the show ended in a great way and every character was given a good end point other than Athos because the actress who played Milady wasn't in enough of the show. Definitely check it out. Click here to see all my Musketeers posts!

Outlander

At number 9 is... Outlander! Season 2 aired this year and although it wasn't as good as season 1, it was still a great show to watch. Season 2 got much darker than the previous season so it was less fun which I think is why I didn't like it as much. It was still fun to see the Frasers in France though and I loved seeing Claire return to Frank and see how different she was with him compared to Jamie because it showed just how much she loved Jamie. The war was interesting to watch too and I can't wait until season 3 comes around although from what I've seen that was in the books, I'm not sure that I'll like it very much but who knows! You probably know my pitch for this show by now but here goes one more time! Great costumes, amazing acting, a smart female lead, killer chemistry between Jamie and Claire and breathtaking scenery. Click here to see all my Outlander posts!

Black Sails

Coming in at number 8 is... Black Sails! Season 3 aired this year and we're coming up on fourth and final season in 2017 which is sad but also it seems like a good time to wrap up the show. A lot of shows have the problem of going on too long and after the major death that happened in season 3, it seems like a good point for the story to conclude. The reason Black Sails is so low on my list this year is again that I didn't love this season as much as the last two. Everything was still great except for the characterization of Eleanor who used to be one of my favorites but now I can't even look at her character and how they completely destroyed it just to get from point A to B. I'm interested to see how the show will conclude and whether it will tie in to Treasure Island. Click here to see all my Black Sails posts. Season 4 airs on January 29th at 9 PM on Starz!

The Flash

At number 7 is.... The Flash! My biggest problem with The Flash during the first half of season 3 is how little exciting moments there were. Most of the season was spent with broody Barry who isn't even as fun as broody Oliver. All Barry did was whine and go on and on about how he messed everything up like we get it Barry, move on already. My other problem with Barry has always been that he can never solve a problem by himself. Kara and Oliver may get help from their tech teams but they can make decisions on their own. Barry sees something and is like help immediately. Even the excitement of Killer Frost was rushed through in that one episode Caitlin went evil randomly and then was fixed randomly. It makes no sense to me why the fact that Caitlin has ice powers would make her evil automatically. Click here to see all my Flash posts. The second half of Season 3 airs on January 24th at 8 PM on the CW!

iZombie

Coming in at number 6 is... iZombie! This is another show that I watched from when it first aired in the Spring of 2015 but it didn't get on my top 10 list that year because as much as I liked the show, it wasn't top 10 quality. Then season 2 aired in 2016 and I was blown away with how much I loved this show. It is the perfect mix of comedy and mystery with a little bit of action thrown in. The characters are all so loveable, the plot is amazing, the villains are a thrill to watch and this is one of the only shows were the love interest is written to be just as interesting as the main character and has side plots of his own unlike the DCTV shows were Iris and Felicity are just there to be love interests. Despite every episode having a detective mystery to solve, there are overarching storylines that continue throughout each episode so the show doesn't feel like a procedural. Click here to see all my iZombie posts. Season 3 airs on April 4th at 8 PM on the CW!

Arrow

At number 5 is... Arrow! Oh my poor sweet baby. The show that started the DCTV world had fallen for the past two seasons but season 5 is looking up a little which I'm afraid to say cause every time I say that in one of these reviews, it's all downhill from there. This show has a special place in my heart but that does not mean that I'm loving everything that's been going on. If you've been reading my reviews of season 5, you know that I seriously dislike this new team of recruits and I don't like how the show is pretending that Olicity never happened because I promise you show that Olicity was not the reason season 3 and 4 bombed but in fact was due to terrible writing but I really liked the twist at the end of the midseason finale of season 5. I also like that the show is more grounded this year cause I feel like the villains in Arrow work better when they have a personal reason for disliking Oliver and when they're just normal people rather than magical ones cause the Green Arrow is just a normal person so it makes more sense. Click here to see all my Arrow posts. The second half of Season 5 airs on January 25th at 8 PM on the CW!

Sense8

Coming in at number 4 is... Sense8! Okay so technically Season 1 aired in 2015 but like I said, I didn't get Netflix until this year so I was not able to check it out until recently. I was a little hesitant cause despite hearing great things about this show, my brother watched it and disliked it so I was worried that I wouldn't like it either but after watching it, I was blown away and I don't know what my brother was doing to dislike it! All the characters are so fascinating and each individual storyline is so interesting and I love how the different sensates are able to help each other out. The scenes were the different sensates come in and help have to be my favorite parts and one of the major reasons that I love this show. I love the main couples, especially Wolfgang and Kala, and I love how ambiguous Naveen Andrews is. The only thing I don't love as much as the rest is Whispers and the whole time I was watching the season 1 finale, I kept wondering if he maybe has some sort of superpowers or something because why couldn't they just kill him and that'd be the end of that? Season 2 will air on May 5th on Netflix!

Reign

At number 3 is... Reign! I bet you're surprised at this ranking, aren't you? As you may know if you read previous posts of mine, I almost dropped Reign during season 2 with how much I disliked the way Mary was written but I got through based on the storylines of the other characters and the show finally corrected it's mistakes. I kept watching when Francis died even though it left me heartbroken and refound my love for this show during season 3 and I'm so glad I did because I really do love this show. All of the characters are so fun to watch and I loved seeing Mary give rousing speeches and being badass as hell. One of my favorite scenes in season 3 was when she stormed her Scottish castle and interrupted the council who thought she was dead and declared herself Mary Queen of Scots! My favorite scene though has to be the dance between Mary and Francis in episode 3 of Season 3. You could feel the love and chemistry oozing from the screen! Click here see all my Reign posts. Season 4 of Reign airs on February 10th at 9 PM on CW!

Supergirl

Coming in at number 2 is... Supergirl! Not very surprising if you have been following my reviews of Season 2 but if you haven't let me say this is my favorite DCTV show on air right now! I didn't think I would have said this after Season 1 but honestly the quality difference between Season 1 and 2 was insane! I will never be more thankful that Supergirl moved to CW because CBS did not know how to write a good show! The storylines are better, the acting is better, the characters are better, the fight choreography is better, the special effects are better. If you can name a complaint from Season 1, it's been fixed in Season 2. Every single episode leaves you on the edge of your seat wanting more! Superman was great this season and so is Mon El and the Luthors and Cadmus and the introduction of Alex's LGBTQ storyline which has to be one of the best written that I've seen on TV. If you watched a few episodes of Supergirl Season 1 and dropped it or heard that it sucked and never tuned in, watch a recap of Season 1 on Youtube (SourceFedNerd does a great one) and then jump into Season 2!! You will not regret it! Click here to see all my Supergirl posts. The second half of Season 2 airs January 23rd at 8 PM on CW!

Agents Of SHIELD

And now the moment you've all been waiting for!!!!! My number 1 favorite TV show of 2016 is..... AGENTS OF SHIELD!!!! Guys, I'm sorry but you really had to see this coming. I cannot stop raving about how much I adore Agents of SHIELD. Most people don't understand me and why I love this show so much and I never know how to explain it. I love all the characters so much and I think each episode is like an adventure that you're so involved in. I want more after every episode airs and it never feels like the show is dragging! The new dark tone took a bit to get used to but after a couple of episodes early on, the tone returned to what we're used to. I loved Ghost Rider appearing on the show and he was amazing and I'm looking forward to the LMD stuff we're going to get! The show is able to balance every character and give everyone something to do which is hard is such a large ensemble cast! Click here to see all my Agents of SHIELD posts. The second half of Season 4 airs January 10th at 10 PM on ABC!

And that concludes my Top 10 TV Shows of 2016 list! I hope you enjoyed and let me know what you're top 10 were this year! Happy 2017 everyone!

xoxo Allie
