Top 10 Movies of 2016

Hey guys!!! These are my top 10 favorite movies of 2016! It was hard to figure out my top 10 this year cause there were so many movies that I watched and enjoyed this year! So let's do my honorable mentions first! Also fair warning, there may be spoilers down below so be warned! If you want a refresher, check out my Top 10 Movies of 2013Top 10 Movies of 2014, and Top 10 Movies of 2015 lists!

Batman v Superman

Up first is Batman v Superman! I was looking forward to this movie even though I wasn't a fan of Man of Steel so when I finally saw it, I was pretty disappointed. The first 2/3 of this movie were so slow and confusing that I was sitting there wondering how much longer was this movie going to take to be over. The only thing that won me a over a little was the final third of the movie. I did not like the Lex Luthor we got, the reason that Batman and Superman was fighting was a really big stretch and the hints that they threw in for the other Justice League members were so not needed here. The only good part of this movie was Wonder Woman which made me very excited to see her solo movie so that's a plus.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

Up next is Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them! I am probably one of the only few people in the world who wasn't a fan of the Harry Potter books or movies so it's probably a surprise to see that I watched Fantastic Beasts isn't it? Well to tell you the truth, I was pretty interested in seeing this movie after the trailers and when I did, I loved this movie! I don't have many of the complaints that others who watched this movie had cause I don't have that deep love for Harry Potter that others did. I just enjoyed seeing Eddie Redmayne play Newt and seeing all the wonderful magical creatures in the movie! Despite not loving Harry Potter, you have to be living under a rock not to know all the basics of the wizarding world of Harry Potter so I had fun seeing how different America was to England! I'll definitely be checking out the sequels!

Now You See Me 2

And finally, my last honorable mention is Now You See Me 2! Now this movie I loved a lot and the only reason it's on the honorable mentions list is cause there were a bunch more movies that I liked a bit more! I loved the first movie so I was super excited for the sequel (even though some of the cast changed) and I was not disappointed! I loved the new characters we got and the return of the old ones. The only things I didn't like were the fact that Thaddeus suddenly was the big man in charge and that unlike the first movie, the Four Horsemen and Dylan were more reacting to situations rather than causing them. This doesn't take anything away from the movie though cause it was still a thrill to watch. My favorite scene has to be the one in the vault of the data-mining chip facility when the Four Horsemen were trying to keep the stolen chip hidden. I can't wait until the third movie!

Now let's get into my top 10 favorite movies of 2016!

Doctor Strange

Coming in at number 10 is.... Dr Strange! I was hesitant about watching this movie because I wasn't really won over by the trailers but I decided to go watch it cause I can't not watch all the MCU movies! I thought about waiting until it came out on DVD but I heard that the effects were better appreciated in theaters so off I went and I was pleasantly surprised (probably cause I had such low expectations). Now I'm not saying that this was a great movie but I was able to enjoy myself throughout. I loved the characters and how magic was depicted in this movie and the ending was so amazing and different than how heroes usually win battles with the villains. It makes me look forward to seeing Doctor Strange interact with the Avengers!

Moana

At number 9 is ..... Moana! I love Disney movies, especially Disney Princess ones so I was obviously going to check this one out and I had a great time. This movie reminded me a lot of Lilo and Stitch because of the messages and the way that there was no one big villain in the film. It was more of an adventure and learning who you really are! I loved every second. The voice cast was great and I loved the Rock as Maui. Everything was animated so beautifully but the best part of this movie has to be the music! Every number was so catchy and made you want to sing along!

Rogue One

Coming in at number 8 is.... Rogue One! Surprised that this was so low on my list? I'm so sorry but I was not a huge fan of this movie!! I was so meh coming out of the theater and I tried so hard to figure out what didn't work for me and I think after a lot of soul searching, I figured it out. The first 2/3 of the movie was pretty slow and it didn't pick up until the finally 1/3 of the movie with the huge fight between the Rogues and the Empire and I feel like a lot of people agree but are able to love that part so much that they think this movie was better than Force Awakens but I can't do that.... I also think the characters were a problem for me. I was not able to fall in love with any of the characters. I'm not saying that I didn't like any of them because I definitely did but when they all died, I was like okay which I shouldn't have if I loved them! And it isn't a problem that this was a standalone cause I've fallen in love with plenty of characters from standalone movies.... Other than that, it was so much fun visiting the Star Wars world again! I loved seeing the characters from the original trilogies and seeing how the tech was similar to the 70s! Also I grinned so hard when I saw CGI Leia!

X-Men Apocalypse

At number 7 is.... X-Men Apocalypse! I enjoyed this movie despite it not being as good as the previous two X-Men movies. I think the biggest problem with this film was Apocalypse and how little I cared about his existence. I did love seeing all the main X-Men characters as teens and how could I not love something with Sophie Turner in it? I also loved the Wolverine cameo and the bond that Jean and Logan already showed. As you know, I've always loved their relationship. Quicksilver was the best part of this movie and I loved every scene he was in. It was also pretty awesome to see Jean harness the power of the Phoenix and kinda explains why future Jean never died!

Deadpool

Coming in at number 6 is.... Deadpool! I didn't love this movie as everyone else did but I definitely did enjoy watching it. It was a great palate cleanser movie that was so different from other superhero movies that it was like a breath of fresh air. The humor was great, the acting was great and I loved every moment of it. I also liked how there were some of the X-Men in this even though they weren't any of the recognizable ones just to hint that the worlds were the same.

Nerve

At number 5 is... Nerve! Every year I watch a random movie that I have no expectations for and then it blows my mind and turns out to be one of my favorites! This was that movie this year. When the trailers came out, I thought the movie looked good but nothing that made me want to see it immediately. Eventually I decided to just because I love Emma Roberts and Dave Franco and lo and behold, I ended up loving every minute! The characters were great, the chemistry between Emma and Dave was amazing, the dares were fun and the ending was perfect!! I saw this movie twice if you can believe it. I would definitely recommend seeing this if you haven't, cause it's a fun little film and sometimes you need some of that between all the superhero ones ;)

Suicide Squad

Coming in at number 4 is... Suicide Squad! I was so excited to see this movie from the first time I heard about the production of this movie because some of my favorite episodes of Arrow were ones with Deadshot and Suicide Squad. When I finally did see it, I ended up really enjoying it. Now I know that it wasn't the best in terms of plot or editing but I couldn't help but put it up so high on my list based on how much I enjoyed it. The characters just made this movie. I was less interested in the action or plot than I was seeing the characters do their thing. Margot Robbie killed it as Harley and unlike what most people think, I thought Jared Leto was great as the Joker. He was a different Joker than Heath Ledger's but there was nothing wrong with that! I hope we get to see more of him in future movies!

Finding Dory

At number 3 is.... Finding Dory! Guys I was so beyond excited for this movie to come out. Finding Nemo was the first movie I ever remember wanting to see as a child and I begged and begged my mom to buy the VHS tape so I could watch it over and over. Finding Dory did not disappoint. It was funny and tear-jerking and perfect in every way. Baby Dory was the cutest thing ever and I loved the new additions in the Marine Life Institute. The seals slayed me with their rock and oh my god Becky. Her interactions with Marlin!!! I loved Dory's parents leaving those shells every day for Dory to find them. Seriously, I could not stop crying when that happened. Guys if you haven't seen this movie, get out from under your rock and do it!!

Me Before You

Coming in at number 2 is... Me Before You! As you know, I'm a sucker for romance movies but not a lot of rom coms end up high on my list for various reasons but this movie had everything you could ever want in a romantic film. Unfortunately I hadn't read the book so going in I only knew what the trailers showed and I was so surprised. I cried so hard so many times during this movie and I loved each and every second. The costumes, acting and plot were all amazing. The chemistry between Emilia and Sam was incredible and I both loved and hated the ending in that I'm a sucker for happy endings but I could not think of a better way to end the story because the movie wasn't really about two people falling in love but Louisa figuring out who she was. Watch this movie if you love when movies tug on your heartstrings. I've seen this movie three times already!

Captain America: Civil War

And now the moment you've been waiting for! My number 1 movie of 2016 is.... Captain America: Civil War! Guys you had to have seen this coming and I'm not even sorry. This movie literally set goals for what makes a superhero film perfect. It got so many comparisons to Batman v Superman and rightfully so since both movies were about two superheroes fighting but Cap 3 did it better in every way. After being there from the very beginning and following the journey was the Avengers, we loved all of these characters and knew that Tony and Steve were friends and they had a deep relationship so the reason that they fought made so much sense unlike in Batman v Superman. The fight choreography, especially in the airport scene, was amazing. Meeting the new Spiderman and Black Panther was epic (I can't wait for their solo films) and I loved seeing which hero took which side! I loved how in the end, Tony and Steve weren't 100% reconciled and I loved seeing the final goodbye to Peggy in this film. Just seriously, all the props and praise and cheer to the amazingness that this movie was!

Anyway, thanks for tuning in! My favorite tv shows of 2016 list will be out tomorrow! Happy 2017 everyone!

Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 8 Review

Hey guys! Sorry this a little later than it usually is posted but I had other plans tonight and was unable to watch Legends until about an hour later. But I'm here now and ready to talk Legends!!! I know I haven't actually been reviewing Legends weekly but that is simply due to the fact that I watch so much tv that sometimes Legends get shuffled to the back and I have to binge a couple of episodes to catch up because it isn't my favorite of the CW DCTV shows especially once Leonard died and I no longer had his scenes with Sara to look forward to. But I promise I will be reviewing each premiere and finale that airs and so let's get into the the midseason finale of Legends of Tomorrow. It was a fun one but didn't really act as a midseason because nothing really surprising happened, no storyline really wrapped up so it acted like just a regular episode.

Despite all that I liked this episode because of two big reasons. Firstly, it was set in the 1920s and if you anything about me, I love love love the roaring 20s and I love when shows travel back to that time period! I totally felt for Amaya this episode when she was talking about how much she always wanted to visit this time period and experience the fashion and the speakeasys. Swoon. I loved seeing everyone dressed up in their 20s gear and Sara looked stunning as she always does!

The second reason was the return of Leonard Snart! The show had been promoting his return and I think the showrunners said something about him being part of the Legion of Doom so I was a bit disappointed that Leonard was only a hallucination of Mick's this week. Despite this, I did enjoy seeing him return because it was just amazing to hear his slow drawl as he tried to convince Mick to leave the team and become a criminal again. In my shipper mind, I would also like to believe that he was talking about Sara when he talked about an angel who could kick ass. Shut up. I can't wait for his actual return.

Now let's get into the episode. Sara and Stein were kidnapped by the Legion because the Legion wanted the pendant that Sara swiped from Darkh. It was fun to see Merlyn but I kind of wish his return would have been kept more of a secret cause that would have been more exciting. Sara must be hating this whole thing. One man killed her sister, one man basically killed her and one man was the one who got away. Poor thing. Also I totally forgot that no one other than Barry really knew what Eobard truly looked like cause he had the face of Wells every time Stein saw him cause it threw me a little when Stein couldn't recognize him. The fight with Sara and Malcolm was fun and I loved Sara's line about those who couldn't do teach. She was hilarious this episode from the opening scene where she basically acted like mama bear and made Ray and Nate stop fighting. Unfortunately the Legion got the pendant in exchange for Stein's location and apparently this pendant is actually a compass to some weapon that possibly Rip has or is protecting?

Ray and Nate were children in this episode. Like actually though. They kept fighting over who was stronger, who was smarter, who was better. It was funny at some points but at other points I just wanted to smack them. But tbh that's how I always feel about these two, both together and separately. I laughed so hard though when Jax came in and told them that Stein was about to kill Sara in the library and Ray asks him with the candlestick or the rope.

Mick and Amaya are apparently going to be a thing this season and although I'm kind of glad that Amaya didn't get paired up with Ray like I thought she would when she first appeared, I was kind of hoping she wouldn't need a love interest this season. And tbh these two are paralleling Sara and Leonard so much that I'm not a fan. It was sweet when Amaya kissed him on the cheek so I guess I could get on board with this if I have to. Mick has been kinda annoying this season so far and I feel like the show is trying to make us forget that he was Kronos so he is smart. All Mick does is whine and drink and I could get down with the idea that he misses Leonard but I need him to snap out of it like yesterday. You would think the 1920s and Al Capone would be enough to interest him but nope. I did love the scene where he and Amaya stole a car from some minions of Capone's and he was ready to drive off and Amaya was like what about Ray and Nate and Mick was like those idiots keep ruining everything, let's leave them and Ray and Nate were outside the car like we're standing right here.

Oh and at the end, we saw Rip Hunter again. He's apparently in the 60s pretending to be a director with an American accent. Okay Rip.

So I did like this episode and I'm excited to see where it'll go when we come back, but I do think that it was a fairly poor midseason finale. We'll be back in January I believe. In a few weeks or so, I'll be posting my winter tv schedule so you can see when shows come back on the air. That's all for now!

Arrow Season 5 Episode 9 Review

So the midseason finale aired tonight and it was pretty damn epic!! I feel like I've been saying that about a lot of the midseason finales this week but it's the truth!!! There were a ton of oh my god moments in this episode and lots of surprises!! Let's get into it shall we??

So firstly I loved the flashbacks to season 1 this week! It was a fun way to not only link this season to a previous one with Prometheus but it was a nice nod back to the history of Arrow. I loved the scenes with Diggle and Felicity and seeing season 1 Oliver again! I know there's been a lot of buzz around Oliver and Felicity and a red pen so it was fun to watch that scene. So much symbolism with Oliver getting down on one knee and giving Felicity the pen while saying that he believes in magic. I wonder where this flashback would fall during season 1 cause it looked like Diggle was trying to convince Oliver that killing was bad but I can't remember him kicking up too much of a fuss other than right after he found out that Oliver was the Hood. I'd assume it's around there. I loved the way the end when Oliver killed a bunch of people in that building paralleled him walking through the building to find Prometheus.

So Prometheus was finally revealed and even though we all assumed it was Billy, it actually wasn't. It was some random dude that we never met before who was the son of a random dude Oliver killed that we never saw before. Although I kind of liked this because honestly it wasn't a huge deal to figure out who Prometheus was, part of me also wishes that Promethus was the child of someone Oliver had killed in season 1 that we actually saw because that would make what we're supposed to feel now feel more real. Btw where is Helena if we're talking about kids who wanted revenge? Prometheus's big plan is similar to Slade's in that he wants to destroy everything Oliver loves before killing him cause death is too easy. I kind of like this throwback because it makes the villain more grounded rather than Darkh who just thought Oliver was a thorn in his side.

This was a rough episode for the characters this week and somehow out of the blue, I found myself really liking the recruits this week. Don't get me wrong, Evelyn and Rene are still super annoying but less so than usual. Maybe it's because the episode wasn't focused on them? Poor Curtis was bascially dumped by his husband Paul who found out that Curtis was a vigilante and couldn't deal with this. Although I get where Paul was coming from, his whole thing about not wanting to worry about Curtis's safety everynight didn't ring too true. Cops and people in the military have to put their lives on the line all the time. Would Paul have left Curtis if he decided to become a cop or join the military? Evelyn's betrayal was also exposed and apparently she joined Prometheus after she found out that Oliver was also the Hood and the Arrow. Super lame Evelyn. She gave Prometheus all the info about everyone including addresses and apparently took pictures of Diggle and Felicity herself to give him. More symbolism, Felicity was the last picture to go up. Rory and Rene didn't have much to other than a funny scene where they were trying to figure out the DNA sequencer and talking about whether Rene could ever get with Thea, who btw turned him down so fast that I died of laughter.

Billy was finally introduced to the team and I knew that he would either die or be Prometheus the second that happened. I also totally forgot that he knew Felicity worked with the Green Arrow because I care so very little for him and it threw me a little in the hospital when he mentioned that he knew Curtis was Mr Terrific. It was also funny when he was trying to give Felicity info and she was like yeah I know, the Green Arrow dealt with this yesterday but he kept trying and ended up being kidnapped. I loved loved loved that scene when Oliver accidently killed him because it was completely shocking in a fun way! I didn't care for Billy but my heart broke for Oliver because he would have to be the one to tell Felicity about this. The scene in the bunker when Oliver told everyone about how he killed Billy and then broke into tears before begging everyone to leave him was so touching. It was also very sweet that Diggle was like we're all right where we belong and Felicity almost immediately told him that Billy's death was Prometheus's fault.

What I didn't like was Oliver going to the reporter when he needed to be comforted cause when did Oliver and Susan get so close. I had the same thought earlier in the episode when Oliver and Susan talked about the morning they spent together. Last I saw, Susan was hitting on Oliver and he wasn't all that interested. Ugh. Go to Diggle. Go to Thea. Literally anyone else for comfort. She gave him some Russian Vodka and I'm wondering if maybe she's tied to the Bratva or his Russian roots or if she was just trying to get a rise out of him cause she knows he was in Russia.

And then the final scene. DINAH LAUREL LANCE IS BACK GUYS. I'm so excited cause I missed her so much! Despite how much I'm excited that she's back, I know the show regretted killing her off almost the moment it did but if this really is Laurel, I'm a little disappointed in the show for turning back on their decision. If everyone keeps coming back to life, why bother killing characters off in the first place. Now that that's out of the way, how great was it to see Laurel in the bunker??? It has to be Flashpoint that brought her back right? Cause Arrow mentioned Flashpoint a bunch this episode. But if that was true, why did she hide until now? Especially with the struggle Lance was going through and the alien attack!

I'm so excited to see where the show goes next half season! We'll be back in January! Tune in tomorrow for my Legends of Tomorrow midseason finale review!

Agents of SHIELD Season 4 Episode 8 Review

GUYS WHAT THE HELL DID WE JUST WATCH TONIGHT??? It was everything I wanted out of a SHIELD episode and more!!! What an amazing midseason finale!! Since this was the midseason, there really wasn't any separate storylines this time around so it might be hard to break things down a little.

Let's start with Mack and YoYo. They finally became a thing this week and it was amazing. Even better were Daisy and Coulson's faces when they walked up on the two kissing. It's about time but it feels like less cause YoYo has barely been in this half season! I still love YoYo's powers and I loved how she was the one to do recon and then to plant the bomb on Eli. I loved the depiction of her powers when she was trying to get the bomb to Eli and she moved people's weapons around. I also loved how protective Mack was of YoYo.

Next let's move over to Fitz and Jemma who didn't have much to do other than a bunch of sciency stuff. Fitz was the one to figure out that Eli was syphoning matter from the other dimension that they were stuck in last week to create matter in this world. They also caught up everyone except Daisy on what Jemma had to do with the inhuman last week and I loved their scenes with Daisy this week. Remember in season 1 when Daisy would hang out with all the times she wasn't training cause they were all friends? It was nice to see that again. I loved them gossiping about the new director with her and how Fitz was teasing Daisy about her gauntlets and the earthquakes that weren't coming from her and the scene under Eli's bomb when Fitz and Jemma were worried about how many tremors Daisy could take on. It was also seriously badass when that random bad guy appeared and Fitz and Simmons shot at him when AIDA went down. It was beautifully filmed.

Speaking of Daisy, she's finally a SHIELD member again!!! Yay!! It's about freaking time. I kind of felt that's where the story had to go because it seemed like she spent enough time on the run and hating herself that any longer would have been too much. And after spending the last few weeks with the team again, it would be next to impossible for Daisy to leave again. Also if you noticed, Daisy's eyemakeup was less heavy tonight and that in itself was a hint! I loved how Mason was able to spin the entire story towards Daisy and SHIELD because I was hardcore worried for a second or two when she went outside to get away from the tremors and somehow landed in the middle of a bunch of reporters. It was a clever way of undermining the inhuman hating senator and also explaining why SHIELD would be working with Daisy despite the public belief that she was a terrorist. I'm just thrilled that she's a member again. Daisy and Coulson had a pretty touching scene too where they both admitted to each other how much they missed the other. And one of the funniest scenes of the episode took place when Jemma gave Daisy a blue lanyard and Daisy was like what does this blue mean and Fitz was like no one knows.

It looks like I was right last week when I said this would be Robbie's last episode for a little while which is super disappointing cause I loved him. He ended up taking Eli down with him which was pretty awesome but also kind of surprising because the enemy was defeated kind of quickly and now I'm curious as to who the next villain will be. AIDA perhaps? Or maybe the evil senator? I loved that Coulson was the one to confront Eli cause he is the best at antagonizing the villains! His face when Robbie dropped the chain and when he and Eli vanished was great and I love how he told Daisy that Robbie would be back.

Now onto AIDA. Guys I called it. She was way creepy from like the first episode and I knew she would end up being bad. SHIELD cannot introduce another andriod/AI/LMD so soon after Ultron and not have us be super suspicious of her. And it kind of sucked cause I was finally starting to like her. Did you see that heartbreaking expression on AIDA's face when Daisy, Fitz and Jemma were being all cute and worried about each other? AIDA just wants that for herself!!! I wasn't the only one falling for her this episode, the team and more importantly Mason finally started to trust her. Also how hilarious was that line from Mason about how he was mildly attracted to AIDA.

But as we revealed at the end, AIDA has May in her closet. The question here is, is that the real May or an andriod of May? And why did AIDA kill that random agent when he figured it out? If it was the real May in there, it explains why the May we saw all episode was so chipper. It threw me off during the episode but I figured it was just because the show was trying to put May and Coulson together so that's why she was always so happy around him. I kind of hope that this is an android cause it would be so fascinating!!! But that begs the question when did AIDA grab May? Last time they were alone together was when May was ill so unless AIDA somehow overpowered May last week after the portal, it has to be back then.

I loved this episode and I'm so sad that we are off until January but since we don't have Agent Carter this year to fill the gap, we're coming back early!!! I wonder if Marvel's Most Wanted was to take the slot but since it got cancelled, they had to toss the idea. Ugh I still want Bobbi and Hunter back.

Tune in tomorrow for my Arrow midseason review!

xoxo Allie

The Flash Season 3 Episode 9 Review

After episode 7 of the Flash, aka the episode before the crossover, I was not thrilled by a lot of things but any doubts that I had were cleared after tonight's episode. I actually really liked where we ended up.

So firstly I was annoyed that Julian was Alchemy because it was mega cheezy that the show hired a new actor and then he turned out to be one of the villains of the season. Despite this, I really liked what we got this week with Julian and how Alchemy was sort of possessing his body and he was a conduit for Savitar. I'm glad it turned out the way it did because otherwise everything else we heard from him in previous episodes wouldn't have made sense with him being Alchemy. I enjoyed him helping Team Flash and I could totally be down with him joining the team. He certainly makes a better team member than HR did (at least before this episode) and I'm kind of liking the vibe he and Caitlin are giving off. It was weird though cause I expected him to be nervous or at least uncomfortable around Caitlin given how she tried to kill him last time they met. It's like the show's forgotten their Killer Frost episode. Also how precious was Julian when he awkwardly showed up the West house and stuttered about not wanting to be alone. Did it cross anyone else's mind that maybe he was possessed again cause it was a weird 180 from him turning down Caitlin and then suddenly showing up. Also I love how comfortable everyone is at the West's. Like Caitlin didn't even think about whether Joe would be cool with Julian coming over when she asked him.

Speaking of Caitlin, she seems to be doing okay after the last episode. I liked that she helped Cisco get through his attraction to the Philosopher's Stone and that talk that Cisco and Caitlin had about their favorite Christmases with Dante and her father respectively. It was also really sweet that she caused it to snow outside for Cisco and for Christmas in general.

I was living for Wally and HR this episode. I will be the first to admit that I have disliked HR since he showed up and when Wally asked HR to train him during the crossover, I rolled my eyes because what could HR even do. Despite all this, I loved all their scenes and how they were bro-ing out at the beginning of the episode and how he convinced Wally to go help Barry against Savitar. I am so so so so so so glad that we seem to finally be done with everyone being against Wally helping Barry. It still makes no sense to me that Joe was more pissed at Wally for wanting to become a hero than Barry did. They are both his sons so it seems weird that Joe is more worried about Wally. Maybe it's an age thing? Even though the show repeatedly tells me that Wally is in college (?) and Barry is in his late 20s, the actors look so close in age that I forget. I loved that Wally got his costume and that everyone gave it to him.

Jay came back this episode and it was fun to see both him and Mark Hamill again. Their lines/acting were so cheezy and I want to believe this was a nod to the 90s Flash cartoon and if it was, I loved it! Also I love how Jay seems to bros with the speedforce cause he always knows so much more about it than Barry. Maybe Barry should try to talk to it.

I'm glad the reveal of who is Alchemy is finally over and that we can focus on other things. Savitar revealed that he was from the future and was pissed at future Barry for locking him up. Honestly Barry. You should stop pissing off future speedsters cause they just keep coming back to your past. Savitar also revealed that one of the team members would betray the team and one would die. The camera stopped on Wally and Iris during this and then Barry accidently went into the future (5 months to be exact) and saw Savitar kill Iris. After the crossover scene with the newspaper, the show was hinting heavily at Iris dying but I didn't believe it for a second and now that we actually saw Iris die, I believe it even less. We've seen the backlash Arrow got when they killed off Laurel and she wasn't that loved by the fans (I miss you Laurel!) so imagine what will happen when Iris, a fan favorite, gets killed off. I could believe Wally betraying the team due to some Alchemy programming or weird effect from leaving the shell early. I could also see it being Caitlin, fully turning into Killer Frost, or HR. Did anyone else catch Savitar's dig towards him being the fake Wells? Does this mean that his partner is actually the real Wells? Cause I think I guessed that a few episodes ago!!

This was a great episode and a fun midseason finale. It wrapped up a bunch of loose threads and dropped a bigger bomb on us! I can't wait until January when we return!

Oh and don't forget to tune in later tonight for my Agents of SHIELD midseason finale review!

Once Upon a Time Season 6 Episode 10 Review

The winter finale for Once Upon a Time aired and it's so weird that the show isn't broken up into two parts like it usually is because instead of wrapping everything up and starting anew next season, we ended on a cliffhanger!! Overall I did like this episode.

So first let's talk about this imaginary world Emma and Regina went into. I loved seeing girly Princess Emma who picked flowers and sang and called her parents mom and daddy and really just glowed in general. I know a lot of people were annoyed that she was so passive in this world but I honestly didn't mind it too much. It was a bit of a surprise though that growing up with Snow and Charming as her parents that she didn't learn even a bit of fighting or magic. But it was so sweet that Henry was a knight in this world and I loved the dynamic between the Charmings!

What was weird was that fact that Neal was Henry's father. So she married/slept with the Dark One's son and then he died? Why was the kingdom okay with this? Why was Rumple locked up if his son never left the Enchanted Forest cause then he wouldn't have had to train the Evil Queen or created the Dark Curse? Despite all this and how little I care for the EQ and how Regina isn't my favorite character, I was so beyond excited that they found EF dream world Robin Hood. I literally squealed a little and I really hope that if they stay in this world, they're able to bring this Robin back because I love Robin and Regina!!!! Also since they used up this magic bean, I really hope Rumple has another to just give to them!

Meanwhile this was a great episode for Charming. I love him and I feel like he hasn't been given enough stuff to do these last few seasons which is unfortunate so it was fun to see him step up, although fairly poorly. Cause let's be honest, no one in Storybrooke is any good with plans. Like seriously. In the beginning of this episode, they found out that the sword that Emma found could harm the EQ and not Regina so they decided the best course of action was to storm Granny's and what just stab her with it? It took me five seconds to come up with a better plan than that!! If everything that happens to Regina happens to EQ, why couldn't she take a normal sleeping curse and cause EQ to sleep too and then Emma or someone could kill her with the sword and then Henry could give her True Love's Kiss to wake her up. Boom problem solved. But the show needs this to drag and so we didn't get that.

Ugh guys but I can't ultimately hate this episode when there was soooo much Aladdin in it. Fair warning, this next section is literally just going to be gushing about him and Jasmine. Was it just me or was he so hot in his genie outfit and the looks on everyone's faces when he popped out of the genie lamp was hilarious. Like did no one catch the team up? We were all Aladdin in that moment when EQ hit on him and he was all ew. I loved how he was all excited when Regina realized that she and EQ were the same person, she could make a wish as well. I also loved how Jasmine was worried about him and Killian was all I feel you girl, I'm scared for my True Love too. Then their hug. I lived for that moment when Jasmine ran into his arms and when they left for Agrabah and he was all I'll do everything I can for you. Sigh so beautiful. Also his hair toss whenever he came out of the lamp.

I am a little annoyed that we got so little Aladdin and Jasmine this half season and now that they're gone to wherever Agrabah is, we'll get even less of them. Also where the hell is Jafar??? You can't promote this season being all about Aladdin when it's actually all about EQ and Evil Rumple. We've already seen this played out so many times that it's getting boring. Been there done that thank you very much. I was hoping that the person under the hood would have been Jafar but sadly not the case. It was such a waste. You could have done so many interesting things with the fact that Aladdin was also a savior. I hope next half season, we'll at least get parts of them and what they're doing in the place of the EF flashbacks we usually get.

Now to Belle and Rumple. Guys I have such a problem. I have loved Rumbelle for seasons so even though I say that I'm sick of Belle always forgiving Rumple, just like her I forgive him the second he is sincere. It's such a struggle cause I was disgusted by him for so long but when he took her elbow and told her about how they'll find their son, I melted. And it isn't just that I hate evil Rumple because I loved evil Rumple in the early seasons, it's the character development I hate. He was on the way to becoming better after season 3 but then all of a sudden the show just made him regress and I was irritated as hell. I do like this storyline with Gideon being kidnapped by the Dark Fairy (I mean did anyone not see this coming) and although I was disappointed the person under the hood wasn't Jafar, it's kinda interesting to see Evil Gideon! Evil Rumple is probs thrilled that his son is evil too. Ugh. There goes the little amount of thawing my frozen heart was doing towards him.

It wasn't the best midseason finale the show has had but I'll forgive them cause it wasn't the wrap up for a half-season long storyarc. I can't wait for the show to return in March! Tune in Tuesday for my Flash midseason review!

Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 Episode 7 Review

The last part of the 4-part crossover aired and it was just as much fun as the Flash episode. Two of my favorite things about these crossovers are always the bromance between Barry and Oliver and the way that characters who normally don't spend time together do hang out. It really just reminds us as viewers that these people are all friends and collegues and each one lives in a bigger universe that you sometimes forget just watching one of these shows (all except Supergirl of course).

The episode was kinda broken up into four parts. Cisco, Felicity, Mick, Amaya and Nate all went to 1951 to try to capture a Dominator from the past to figure out what the Dominators wanted from Earth. At first I thought it was really weird that Cisco and Felicity came along cause like what could they do in the kidnapping and capturing part of the mission but it was so nice to see Cisco and Felicity talk and geek out over the Wave Rider. There were so many amazing scenes between them like the one where they're freaking out and Nate is like the babysitter and trying to steer them to where they need to go or the one where Felicity and Cisco are in awe about the Dominator communicator Cisco has and Mick clears his causing Felicity to fly out of her chair or the one where Cisco and Felicity save the team and Felicity goes someone order tech support. Slayed. Also as nice as it was that Cisco wanted to save the Dominator from being tortured, what was the point? As they said later on in the episode, this is war. One less Dominator in the past is one less Dominator in the future.

While this was happening, Oliver, Barry, Ray and Sara went to meet with the new President but were ambushed by the same guy who talked down to Lyla in the Flash crossover. He apparently made a deal with the Dominators that if Earth gave Barry to them, the Dominators would leave but if they didn't, the Dominators would drop a bomb that would kill millions. This was what confused me a little bit. Why did the metas scare the Dominators so badly? Even if all the metas decided to go evil, how would we even be a threat? Not only do we not know where the Dominators' planet is but we don't have spaceships to go there yet. Although I guess if they're created in the future, attacking now would be like a preventative strike but then again, how would taking Barry stop that? Barry's just one person. It was kind of worth all this confusion just to see the look on Barry's face when he released that the Dominators attacked because of Flashpoint. How they knew that, who the hell knows.

Meanwhile Stein met his daughter for the second time and they along with Caitlin were working on a weapon to defeat the Dominators. The weirdest line of this episode came from Caitlin who said something about how Lily couldn't focus on the nanotech while she was trying to get daddy to love her and I straight up did a double take. Is that a bit of Killer Frost popping through cause girl that was bitchyyyyyyy? I kind of felt bad for the daughter though but I was surprised to find out that she had no idea what Stein did for a living. I had expected her to know cause his wife knew.

The episode wrapped with everyone attaching the weapons that Stein's daughter made to the Dominators and Firestorm transmuting the bomb into water which was seriously one of the coolest things I've seen on these shows!! I loved the ending when the president gave medals to all the heroes IN THE FREAKING HALL OF JUSTICE!!!! I WANT THE JUSTICE LEAGUE OF AMERICA NOW PLEASE!!! Ugh that shot when the Wave Rider flew down to land on the Hall of Justice showed such an amazing shot of the building and I'm sitting here like somebody help me. The group hug between Kara, Oliver and Barry was adorable and it's kind of hilarious that Cisco made her a mini interdimensional portal maker. I really hope they use this on Supergirl and call like Oliver or something. We've already seen Flash on Supergirl, I kinda want Green Arrow or the Legends to pop over.

The final scene between Oliver and Barry was literally such the feels. For some reason I felt like this crossover was very much a passing of the torch from Oliver to Barry and I've been hearing rumors that season 5 may be Arrow's last season and my heart will literally break if this is true. I CAN'T HAVE BOTH ARROW AND AGENTS OF SHIELD LEAVE MY TV SCREEN AT THE SAME TIME!!!

This week was amazing and I cannot believe how lucky we are to be seeing this amazingness on our tv screens. The finales of Arrow, Flash and Legends will be airing next week and I should be able to review them all for you! Bye for now!

Arrow Season 5 Episode 8 Review

Part 3 of the 4 part crossover aired tonight and it was an interesting one! As an Arrow fan who watched the show from the very beginning, I felt a lot of feels but this wouldn't be as fufilling for fans who don't watch Arrow and only tuned in for the crossover! It was Arrow's 100th episode and it was just so amazing and all the old cast came back and it was epic! Let's get into it.

So firstly, let's start with the crossover stuff cause there wasn't a huge amount of it. Cisco and Felicity were looking for Oliver and everyone else who got kidnapped by the aliens and found that they needed some tech which someone stole so they called on Supergirl and Flash to team up with the new recruits (although Evelyn wasn't there cause reasons I guess). Renee was apparently not a fan of metas and supers but changed his mind in like five seconds after Barry and Kara saved his life. Well alright then. They were able to find out that Oliver and company were in space and Nate was able to take the time ship to find them and save them. See not too much crossover?

Kara and Barry tagging each other in to beat up the bad guy was hilarious though and I liked how in awe Rory and Curtis were with Barry and Kara. I also loved Cisco and was it just me or did he fit really well into the Arrow Cave now that he's grieving and not his usual upbeat self? They should trade Cisco for Curtis. I'm kinda over Curtis. I know he was supposed to join Felicity as the comic relief but I feel like he's way too over the top in levels of excitement for the team let alone the show. It was kind of a weird episode though cause what was everyone doing while they waited for Oliver to return. Like there are aliens out there, maybe you should be trying to deal with them.

Now onto the Arrow stuff. Oliver, Digg, Sara, Ray and Thea were all in this stasis pod thing that was probing their minds for information but while this was happening, they were all in this alternate world where Oliver never got on the Gambit. It was such a sweet way for the show to honor their 100th episode because they were able to get Laurel, Moira, Robert, Roy and all the major villains of the previous seasons back. I got so excited when I saw Roy even though he only appeared for 0.5 seconds and I think it was a recycled image with a audio clip. Also Deathstroke never took off his mask so it may or may not have been Manu underneath.

I liked how they were able to get out of the dream world and I almost cried when Thea was talking to Oliver about how everything was perfect in this world and how they had nothing to look forward to when they got out so why bother. It was heartbreaking. Poor Thea. Of course my favorite scenes were the ones where each character got flashes of their lives like when Oliver looked at Digg and Felicity (turns out I miss Olicity more than I thought as the season goes on) or when Sara looked at Ray. The part where they got onto the time ship for the first time was pretty amazing too. I liked Thea's comments because she had to step in to make the funny comments while Digg was hurt!!

It was also really interesting when they made the connection that the aliens all grabbed them cause they were human and didn't have any meta or superpowers. In the comics, the Dominators are really interested in learning about the metagene in humans so they could figure out why so many metas were popping up on Earth. They also sometimes activated the metagene and gave humans powers. I kind of hope this happens with Ray and he gets shrinking powers!

Despite being an amazing, thought-provoking and heavy with feelings episode of Arrow, I kind of felt the crossover was pushed to the backburner despite being the reason for this dream world. And I know that if these aliens didn't appear then they couldn't have gone back and seen all these characters but I don't know maybe the crossover should have happened last week (that would have fixed the Supergirl problem too) and this same storyline could have happened with Oliver being shot with a hallucinogen or something.

So I did like this episode but more as a standalone Arrow episode rather than a crossover one like Supergirl. Tune in tomorrow for my Legends of Tomorrow review and the conclusion to this alien problem!

Agents of SHIELD Season 4 Episode 7 Review

AFTER WHAT FELT LIKE A BILLION YEARS, WE ARE FINALLY BACK!!!!! And what a great episode to return to!!! It was a ton of fun and it reminded me again why SHIELD is my favorite superhero show!

So last we saw, Fitz, Coulson and Robbie disappeared because of the blast from the weapon that Eli used and it turns out they got stuck in some other world that's kinda like purgatory where they could see and hear everyone but they couldn't see or hear them. I figured during last episode that they would become ghosts like Lucy and everyone but it turns out they were even further in the darkness. I really liked this idea and I really liked seeing the back and forth between the real world and this one. It gave the characters a way to see/hear things that they normally wouldn't have like when Fitz overheard Mason about Simmons or when Coulson overheard May talking about him. It was fascinating that AIDA could hear Fitz and Coulson and I want to know how that happened!

The Ghost Rider apparently got seriously pissed that Robbie was in this other dimension and somehow jumped out of Robbie and into Mack which despite being seriously cool, I'm really confused about. Does this mean that the Ghost Rider can jump from body to body without the consent of either party? I thought both the giver and the reciever needed to agree based on what happened when Robbie got the Ghost Rider. Anyway apparently Mack has been stewing in some pain that we never got any hint of previously but I guess that makes sense cause Mack was trying to be brave for the team. I'm curious what that picture was that he was holding and I wonder if the plan is for Mack and Robbie to run off after Eli together without Daisy or SHIELD. Mack looked like he was about to kill Robbie when he came out of the portal gateway.

Daisy was chasing after Ghost Rider Mack who was looking for Eli and it was hilarious seeing Robbie in another dimension talk to her about being careful with his car. She comforted Gabe about Robbie's "death" and then beat up a bunch of goons. I will never get tired of characters in this show beating up the bad guys all badass. The scene between her and Mack and the scene in the beginning when she refused to believe Fitz and Coulson died were sweet because despite Daisy acting otherwise, these people are Daisy's family and she really cares about them. It did look like she was leaving the team again at the end of the episode but I'm sure that even if she does, she'll be back again. Especially since Robbie seems to want to stick around for a little while longer.

Also how sweet was it when Mason (who I still dislike but a little less now) told his agents to find a counselor for Gabe to talk to about Robbie's "death."

AIDA read the Book because everyone thought that since she was an android her mind couldn't be corrupted. Was anyone else sitting there watching this and being like this is a terrible idea!!! Maybe it's cause of the whole robots creep me out thing but I was thinking that the book would show her how to become sentient and then she would take over the world or whatever and that seems to be happening at the end when she created a brain (for herself?). But she was able to create the portal and save everyone. I really hope they decide to destory this portal after Robbie came back cause it seems like leaving an interdimensional portal open is not such a great idea.

Meanwhile poor Jemma was completely out of touch with what happened cause the place that she was sent took her phone and prevented her from leaving until they solved the problem with the man stuck in terrigen form. This looked like the brother of the inhuman hating senator and I thought he was dead when I first saw him a couple of episodes ago but now it seemed that he was just stuck in transition which is kinda confusing cause Jemma just peeled off the hard terrigen and he was fine so I'm not sure why the other scientists couldn't figure that out. Also I am pretty sure they wanted Jemma to find out what kind of powers he'd have before pulling him out but I may have read the situation wrong. I wonder if him getting stuck was an accident or if the senator forced it cause she hates inhumans so much. The poor guy is not going to have an easy time of it if his sister has anything to say about it. The reunion of Fitz and Simmons was really sweet.

Overall loved this episode and I can't wait for next week's even though sadly it's the winter finale. Ugh we just came back from a three week break and now there's another one!! Also it looks like that might be the last episode we see Robbie in because of the whole "Ghost Rider's Last Stand" thing but I'm hoping that's not true and that it's just a catchy tagline and that Robbie will stay on cause I love him!

The Flash Season 3 Episode 8 Review

Part 2 of the 4 way crossover aired tonight and it was just as awesome as we all expected it to be!! Let's get into it!!

Honestly, the most surprising part of this episode was how little of the episode was actually spent with the aliens. In hindsight it makes sense because if this is a 3 part episode, the first part should focus on getting the team together before beginning to fight during Arrow and beating them during Legends but while I was watching, I was sitting here thinking that for a crossover that was billed as heroes v aliens, there are very little aliens in this.

But let's start from the beginning. I always love how during the crossovers how either Barry or Oliver save the other and I just love their friendship so hard. When everyone else was pissed at Barry for Flashpoint, Oliver was the only one to take his side (and Kara but she doesn't really live in this Earth so she doesn't really count). Part of this is probably because Oliver knows more than anyone else about blame and taking on the burden of guilt from everyone. Oliver knows about mistakes. He's written the book on them.

I loved seeing the teams meet Kara and be in awe about how badass she was! The scene where everyone was fighting her and she was seriously destroying them was amazing. I can totally see why Kara needs to be in her own Earth cause literally every problem Oliver, Barry or the Legends have, she could solve in like two seconds. But seriously, it was so cool seeing her deflect literally every attack off of her and Sara hitting on her and Heatwave freaking Kara out and Oliver mistrusting her. This is the kind of epicness I wanted to see.

Cisco was still mad at Barry and I'm kind of glad they didn't just sweep these feelings under the rug for the crossover. In fact, they captalized on this and everyone basically caught each other up on what's been happening on their shows. Ray told Barry about Snart dying and Caitlin told everyone about her ice powers and Barry admitted everything he changed during Flashpoint. Digg's reaction to finding out that he had a daughter was heartbreaking although I expected Sara to say something cause the baby was named after her and the Legends were outside of the timeline during this time so they should have seen the changes. It was really nice seeing how well all these characters know each other and how when they came back together, a lot of pairs that we haven't seen together in a while came together. Like I almost forgot how close Caitlin and Stein were because Ronnie used to be Firestorm or that Ray and Barry had met a couple of times before. Having characters interact with each other and seeing how close they all are is one of the reasons why I was so looking forward to this crossover.

There was also some stuff with Wally and him wanting to go out into the field with Barry but Iris and Joe not being a fan of this. I was not a fan of this stuff because like I said in previous reviews, Wally is my favorite speedster and I hate that the only storyline he's getting is that he wants powers and can't have them or now he's got powers but he can't use them. What the actual hell is going on with Iris and Joe? Neither one of them have stopped Barry from using his powers before. And I know that Wally doesn't have much experience yet but everyone has to start somewhere! I am interested in this Wally and HR team up that's going to happen because honestly I want Wally to be trained and become awesome and then show up and save the day and be super badass. Also how freaking hilarious is it that literally everyone is faster than Barry? Seriously. Reverse Flash, Zoom, Savitar, Jessie Quick and now Wally. Barry, babe, you should just say that you're faster than humans at this point cause you are DEFINITELY not the fastest man alive.

Now that I've gushed about characters and everything I loved, to the aliens! Despite having a limited appearance, they showed up and fucked shit up!! Not only do they look terrifying but they were able to kidnap the president, kill him and then mind control everyone else. Somehow the aliens knew that Team Flash, Team Arrow, Supergirl and the Legends were the real people protecting the Earth and were able to bait and attack them. Were they spying on Earth for longer than a day? And if they knew that all the heroes were in America, why not attack another continent? Wouldn't world domination be slightly easier if it wasn't in the hometowns of these heroes? Also they literally KILLED THE PRESIDENT! This should be a much bigger deal than it was.

Also I gotta give a special shoutout to Diggle and his hilarious actions. Throwing up after Barry sped him to Felicity's apartment, being in awe of Supergirl, blaming Barry for his life being less normal than it was. I live for this kind of humor.

Anyway if you couldn't tell, I absolutely loved this episode and I'm pumped to see the rest!!!! Tune in later tonight for my Agents of SHIELD review!

Supergirl Season 2 Episode 8 Review

So part of the 4 way crossover started with Supergirl!!! Well it techincally did although the crossover didn't really occur until the very end of the episode! Despite that, I did really enjoy this episode cause Supergirl is always amazing!

So firstly ALEX AND MAGGIE guys. They were precious and I loved how Maggie was the one who came to Alex and admitted that she did like Alex but was scared! I love them together and I'm looking forward to seeing more of them. Alex also came out to her mom and her mom was super supportive which was awesome. I kind of expected it because I mean Eliza and Jeremiah took in an alien. Alex being gay would not scare them off. I also liked how it was Eliza who finally convinced Alex that it was okay being who she was and that she didn't have to be embarrassed.

Also Kara and Mon El kissed but Mon claimed he didn't remember the kiss and I couldn't tell at the end of the episode whether his longing look was because he remembered and was sad or if it was just his normal longing look. He was trying to impress Eliza earlier in the episode and Kara was hilarious when she thought he was hitting on Eliza. He got poisoned by Medusa and was in lock up for a while but it was cute cause he and Kara played Monopoloy. Towards the end of the episode, we saw a couple of aliens talking about how they're going to get Mon and I'm assuming based on their tone, kill him. I thought maybe his big secret from last week was that he was the prince of Daxam but now I'm not really sure... Maybe he was a criminal there? Or was the reason that Daxam/Krypton exploded?

Speaking of Medusa, let's get into the major plotline for this episode. Cadmus wanted to kill all aliens by releasing the Medusa virus into the air and they needed a specific isotope that LCorp had. This was an interesting idea but I felt like it ended super quickly and I feel like that's because Kara needed to leave with Barry and she couldn't if she felt like her world was in danger. I don't know if I feel like this was a good thing or not because it seems they wrapped up on Cadmus and Mama Luthor already so there needs to be a new big bad or Mama Luthor will escape. Maybe Cyborg Superman will take on a bigger role than the muscle? His CGI is still pretty damn cool and I liked his fight with J'onn and how terrified he looked when J'onn took on his White/Green Martian form. I also did like how Lena tricked Mama Luthor into trusting her and actually stopped her evil plan which I called from the start. I still don't know if I believe Lena will stay good or not but if she does go evil, it would have been way too soon and way too fast of a turn this episode.

Speaking of problems being solved too quickly, J'onn was cured of his White Martian blood cell problem like in two seconds. I get the idea behind Medusa attacking J'onn's White Martian blood cells but I felt like this storyline would have gone on longer. M'gann made the whole changing thing seem like such a big deal and it's already done with. I wanted to see more of J'onn fighting this change and fighting with the idea that he was going to become what he despised!

Oh and James and Winn wanted to tell Kara the truth about James being Guardian but didn't because Alex wanted to come out during Thanksgiving dinner and didn't want them to upstage her news. I'm guessing that when we come back next week, we'll see more of this storyline played out. Do we think Kara will be pissed at them? Will the boys chicken out? Better question, do the boys know about Alex? I feel like the only person she told was Kara and now her mom.

The episode ended with the beginning of the crossover although the breaches appeared throughout the episode. Barry and Cisco appeared and Barry asked Kara for her help. I loved how Cisco corrected Barry about being coworkers not friends because of last week's Flash episode because it just shows that despite these crossovers, the characters are still themselves. I also loved how Kara immediately was all sure what are we up against and didn't question Barry needing her help at all. I AM SO PUMPED FOR THE REST OF THIS WEEK!!!

Tune in tomorrow for my Flash review!

xoxo Allie

PS Sorry about not reviewing last week's Flash or this week's Once Upon a Time! I was busy with Thanksgiving and my family! I enjoyed Flash last week cause hello I love Killer Frost and Caitlin and that Wally is finally Kid Flash. On the other hand, not a huge fan of Once this week. I am sick to death of the Evil Queen and the weird tension between Belle and Rumple. I also need Once to show more Aladdin and Jasmine! They're the most interesting part and they're relegated to two minutes every other episode!

Supergirl Season 2 Episode 7 Review

Guys this episode of Supergirl tho!!! Let's get into it shall we?

Okay so let's start with the James stuff. I've tried so so hard to be on board with this Guardian storyline but James bores the crap out of me and I have tried to be open to this plot cause at least it's shading him in a little more than just being Kara's love interest but it was so out of the blue. I wish the show had dropped hints least season or even the beginning of this season but they didn't so it feels like James just decided three weeks ago that he's always wanted to be a hero. I also cannot stand all the comments about how he doesn't have superpowers and it makes no sense for him to be out on the streets when we have Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow showing us that yes non-superpowered people can be heroes too. Also how cheesy was it that all it took was one episode for Kara to go from being suspicous of Guardian to approving of him. Ugh. I did like the line about how Superman worked with a vigilante with weapons and demons. Batman easter egg!!

Also irritating was Winn being the backup for James. I get that in this episode that Supergirl was a bit tied up in Cadmus but like the DEO was still functioning and Winn has a job there. I don't understand his need "to be a hero" when he's already helping out Kara and the DEO in the same way that he's helping James now.

J'onn found out that M'gann was a White Martian this episode and it threw me a little cause I expected M'gann to keep her secret for at least a few more episodes! I really liked how J'onn lost it on her in anger and how she refused to turn into her Martian form because she didn't want to be a White Martian. Their fight scene was fun to watch and I'm always in awe with the CGI the show can produce. I do have one question about this blood transfer situation. If White Martian blood in a Green Martian can turn a Green Martian into a White Martian (try saying that 10 times fast) then why would M'gann donate White Martian blood? Like I know that J'onn was dying but it's been explained outside of this show that when Martians shape-shift they shift on a cellular level so if she turned into a Green Martian, she should have had Green blood a la Miss Martian in Young Justice season 1 who changed her blood to O negative blood. I'm interested to see how this problem will be solved cause J'onn cannot turn into a White Martian. I'm also curious to see how long it'll take J'onn to forgive M'gann. 5 or 6 episodes I'm guessing.

I'm still loving how Alex's coming out storyline is progressing. I'm loving how she's fully accepted being gay and how she stood up to Maggie about how she can't be friends with her right now cause it was too fresh. Gay, straight, or bi getting rejected hurts and you need a small amount of time to move on so I really didn't like how Maggie basically guilt tripped Alex into hanging out by the end of the episode. I don't blame Maggie for rejecting Alex cause it's a stereotype of tv shows that all gay characters have to like each other which leads to the idea in real life that all gay men are into all guys or all lesbian women are into all women. Just like straight people, they can have no feelings. What I didn't like was Maggie constantly being around Alex. She should know that Alex needs time. Of course this being a tv show, Maggie being upset about Alex probably means that she does like her and Alex and Maggie will probably end up together by the end of the season.

And now onto the meat of the episode! Cadmus! I loved how Mon El tricked the guard into escaping and it was very sweet when he freaked out over seeing "J'onn" captured. I didn't know he cared that much about J'onn!! I'm also glad that they kept with the comics in that Mon is allergic to lead the same way that Kara is allergic to Kryptonite. The scene between Kara and Mon in the cells as they talked about being scared was so heartbreaking and I'm curious what he was about to say to Kara about Daxam. I feel like it'll be something like Daxam is the reason that Krypton is dead or something so Kara can be mad at him again. Cyborg Superman was awesome and I'm really glad they kept the real Hank around! I'm sure David Harewood is having fun playing two characters. Also remember how I mentioned the amazing CGI before? Well it was awesome here again when Kara melted the skin off of Hank's face and the metal appeared below it!

And speaking of returning faces, Jeremiah was here and he saved Kara and Mon. I was expecting to see him but it was strange cause he didn't look hurt or anything so he must be playing along with Cadmus. I hope we see more of him. I was also excited to see that Cadmus took Kara's blood and kept thinking Superboy (!!) which is why I was a little disappointed to see that all they did with the blood was access the Fortress of Solitude. I'm hoping they kept a little of her blood back in Cadmus and Hank only took some of it. I am curious to see what Project Medusa is. In the comics, Medusa is the Greek goddess who turns people to stone and there's also a thing known as a Medusa Mask that can be used to control emotions. I'm assuming if it is something from the comics, it'll probably be the latter. A mask to control emotions would be helpful if Cadmus is trying to make people scared of aliens!

Oh and can we take a moment to talk about how adorable the end was with Mon and Kara? I loved how Mon asked James and Winn if Kara was mated to anyone and how he tried to play it off as wanting to learn Earth customs. Neither boy was fooled. I'm so on board for Kara and Mon and I love how it was a slow build from enemies to friends to possibly something more although I think it should have taken a little longer cause it does seem kind of fast. And you know these shows suuuuuck at romance so I don't want another will-they won't-they and then they're together but then they break up.

Anyway loved this episode and I can't wait until the crossover next week!!! Who's pumped??

xoxo Allie

PS. So sorry about not writing an Arrow review last week. I ended up not being able to watch it on time and completely forgot to review it later. Here are my quick thoughts: I wasn't a huge fan of the episode because Vigilante was really lame and I can't believe Oliver is dumb enough to go for the reporter but other than that, it was fun.

The Flash Season 3 Episode 6 Review

I am so utterly confused about what I experienced this episode. And again rolling my eyes at how dumb everyone is in the show.

So Caitlin finally told everyone about her powers and I still don't understand this whole thing. Getting ice powers doesn't make a person evil. Killer Frost's circumstances turned her evil. I feel like even though the show keeps hinting at it, Caitlin won't ever actually become evil cause then she'd have to leave the team and Team Flash would never be the same again. Also how much of a dick was Barry during their conversation. Every time Barry talks in these last couple of episodes, he always turns the conversation back to himself and his woe is me routine. Like Caitlin is sitting here terrified that she might go evil and Barry's talking on and on about Flashpoint and how he ruined things. Like Barry we know that. Please move on. Everyone else has.

Wally was finally targeted by Alchemy and it's tough because I can't pin down how I feel about him. Wally West has always been my favorite speedster but this Wally is not like the Wally I love so I constantly have this struggle of whether I like this Wally or not. This whole season has been spent with him whining about wanting powers. It's not cute Wally. We get it. Try something new. But then he does something like speed through the beginning in his Kid Flash costume and I can't stop grinning. Do you get my struggle? I'm so glad that he's going to get his powers now so we can stop with the whining. Although tbh it'll probably another episode or two where Joe is alllll upset about Wally speeding around and trying to be a hero.

As I've mentioned before, I HATE that Flash is basically useless. He needs about a thousand lectures and for someone (Cisco/Caitlin/Wells) to tell him how to solve his problems. In Arrow and Supergirl, there are teams who help out but ultimately Oliver and Kara come up with solutions. And for the love of God, how many Joe-dad lectures do we need??? I am so sick to death of lectures and dad-talks. These characters are supposed to be in their mid-20s not their teens. Why does every episode include a I'm the dad and I know right and you're the kid and you don't know.

The ending was very weird. Firstly what is Alchemy's powers? Is he a magician or does his power come from the Philosopher's Stone? What was that weird blue thing that attacked everyone. I thought for a few seconds that Alchemy must have another speedster on his speed dial that was helping him out but that isn't what it seems like. Secondly, why the hell didn't they try to take off Alchemy's mask while he was done instead of gloating about how they captured him. Jesus. It's like we're working with ameaturs. The show was trying to heavy handedly hint that Alchemy was Julian cause of Barry's line about being unable to contact Julian before they went to attack Alchemy. Ugh.

Also Shade did a thing and Barry stopped him with handcuffs that stopped meta-powers. Joe went on a date with that DA but she was wooed by HR who has a face changer.

I'm definitely pumped for next week cause it's all about Killer Frost!!!! And then the crossover the week after!!! Who's ready??

Tune in tomorrow for my Arrow review!

Supergirl Season 2 Episode 6 Review

Guys guys, I've got such the feels after this episode! This is the second time Supergirl has actually made me cry this season and I AM LOVING IT!!!!

Let's start with Alex, the poor sweetheart. After last week, she's on the path to accepting that she's gay and her first step was to tell Kara. They were so perfect this episode and I didn't realize how much I was missing the Danvers sisters together. I loved how Alex told Kara that she couldn't do this without her and Kara said that Alex wouldn't have to. It was the sweetest moment and I teared up. I also loved when Kara was asking Alex what Maggie was like and Alex was talking about how beautiful Maggie was and Kara tells that Alex is beautiful too. Alex kissing Maggie and Maggie rejecting her was so sad but I'm kind of glad that Maggie rejected her because as much as I love Maggie and Alex, I like that this story of Alex coming out is about Alex finding herself and less about a relationship. And that's exactly what Kara was trying to convince Alex of in the end, that it was okay if Maggie wasn't into Alex because it was more important for Alex to learn how to love herself all over again.

Mon El had his own story arc in this episode in that he learned that maybe he could actually be a hero and didn't have to fight/rage against what Kara wanted. I loved the scene where Kara confronted Mon about him becoming a hired muscle and he told her that despite what she thought, she really wasn't all that selfless because in some part of her heart, she was doing this for the love the people of National City felt for her. This was so true because remember how upset Kara was after the Red Kryptonite episode last season when the city hated her and Kara was so depressed and unsure if she keep fighting? Kara is a great person but Mon was partitally right. I also liked the scene where Alex yelled at him in the bar and I liked how truly upset Mon was when he saw how Kara was hurt. I love them so much. He was kinda useless in the fight against Parasite but it was a hard debut for him fighting crime cause it came in the same episode that Guardian appeared too so we as the audience already knew how badass Mon was and it was more important for Guardian to flex his muscles. I just liked that Mon stepped up. The saddest bit was the end when he thought he was being good and it turned out Cadmus was laying a trap for him!!! Mon this is why secret identities are important!!!

The Parasite was really cool looking this episode and I was impressed with the CGI despite me caring more about the other characters than Parasite this episode. It wasn't his fault, it's just I love the character driven arcs more than the fighting the big bad of the week. But the one good thing that came out of this was the badass fight between Kara and J'onn vs Parasite and then James stepping out in his Guardian costume! He was super badass too and I loved the cheeky line in the end about wearing lead to keep his secret from Kara. Firstly, that was really rude Kara. You should ask someone whether they want their identity known. Secondly, I hope this isn't what makes Kara and James a couple again a la Iris/Barry in that Kara falls for the superhero.

Also in this episode was Miss Martian who donated some of her blood to J'onn. She was so hesitant to offer her blood for him that it made me wonder if maybe giving him her blood would allow him to realize that she was a White Martian rather than Green either through a telepathy link or maybe he could tell the difference in blood. J'onn didn't seem to notice anything at the end of the episode but that may have been because he was still groggy after the attack. I hope we'll see something come out of this in the future.

Ugh can you tell I loved this episode?? I was so excited throughout all of it! I'm looking forward to next week's episode and the crossover in two weeks!!! Who's ready for 4 days of excitement!!! Tune in tomorrow for my Flash review!

Once Upon a Time Season 6 Episode 8 Review

Tonight's episode was a fun one despite the characters all acting dumb at one point or another. I never understand why writers think that the only way for something to get done is for all the characters to suddenly lose IQ points. Let's get into shall we?

The opening montage was definitely fun because it's never been done before and I'll admit, Snow and Charming broke my heart a bit. But of course Emma kissing them awake was never mentioned or tried. Last week when I mentioned that Emma might be able to wake her parents, I didn't think about how maybe the curse works the same way no matter who uses the True Love kiss. Even if this was true, I still would have liked to see a scene of Emma trying it cause if she truly was pained seeing her parents sad, she would have tried anything to help them.

Being trapped in the mirror world was fun too because I liked the idea of Emma and Regina looking through different mirrors which unfortunately we didn't get a lot of. Was the whole vibrations in the mirror something only Henry could sense cause he was the author or was that something that anyone could see/feel if they paid close enough attention? I totally forgot that Sydney was removed from the mirror cause I expected him to appear! Oh and he's a genie too right? I feel like I remember something like that from season 1. I also thought the EQ killed the Dragon so it was interesting seeing him again. I was hoping that he would be Mushu and at first glance I thought he might be Mulan's dad too but I think based on this show, he's probably Lily's dad which is problematic because Lily was Latina when she was young and now she's white so.... Also they casually left the Dragon in the mirror world and never looked back. Way to be heroes guys.

I like how the Greek Gods are still a part of the world even though we left the Underworld. The Hammer of Hephaestus was in this episode and I liked how Henry was able to out-think the EQ to help. Apparently the EQ's big plan was to turn Henry dark? I guess that makes sense based on the advice she gave Zelena a few episodes back although EQ really should have known it wouldn't have worked. Henry's almost an adult now while Robin is only a baby so the same plan can't work in both cases. Also apparently Violet is struggling to fit in so she stood up Henry on a few dates cause that makes sense. It was cute though seeing Henry, Hook and EQ trying to find which of Charming's ties were best.

Aladdin and Jasmine were in the episode tonight which was a fun surprise! Belle wanted to get away from Rumple which although I applaud, I was confused about. Just last week Belle told Rumple to step up and try to be good to get to know their son and this week Belle's all about leaving. Anyway, she went to Zelena who couldn't do anything without the wand from Rumple's shop so they turned to Aladdin cause I guess Will's not around anymore... Not that I'm complaining, it was great seeing him again. He stole the wand and apparently the genie lamp but Genie is free so someone else is inside. I'm glad that the genie and the lamp are in their story still and I wonder if we'll see any of Genie in flashbacks? I also wonder why the show felt the need to make a new genie in the lamp unless it's Jafar. I'm excited to see where this goes. Also no lie but I melt whenever Aladdin's on screen.

Ugh now back to Rumple and Belle and Zelena and EQ. Talk about goosebumps. I was legit horrified when Rumple slapped that bracelet on Belle. It's a tracker I assume or something that prevents Belle from being too far from Rumple. This is the first season that I've ever not been a fan of Rumple or Rumbelle so it's all very weird for me. I don't know why Rumple has decided to dig in his heels and cling to being a villain. Everyone and their mother knows Belle still loves him and would let him back into her life if only he would try even just a little to be good. Remember season 2 and 3 Rumbelle? Those were the days. I actually smirked when Zelena was all if you hurt me, you hurt yourself. And of course Rumple tucked tail and returned to EQ with whom he had the most disgusting makeout session with. I literally cannot watch them on screen.

I definitely enjoyed this episode and I'm excited for the season to continue. Unfortunately, Once Upon a Time will be taking the next two weeks off so we won't get another episode until December. Tune in tomorrow for my Supergirl review!

Arrow Season 5 Episode 6 Review

Hmmmmmmmmm...... My brain is going about a mile a minute after tonight's episode of Arrow and that is definitely a good thing! The worst thing an episode can do to you after you watch is feel indifferent. Even if you hate an episode, the episode caused you to feel something! And tonight's ending was crazy.

It's so amazing to have Diggle back. Like I said before, he makes all the recruits look useless (except for Ragman who is the only one of the recruits able to hold his own) and the recruits are getting jealous. The Arrow Cave is getting way too crowded and I don't understand why the show felt the need to throw so many new members in. One or two recruits would have been fine but 4 is too many. And it makes everything awkward. The audience knows all about the List and who Oliver was but the recruits don't so we need to sit through half the episode with the new recruits feeling sorry for themselves. Nobody cares. They should all quit and disappear and we should never see them again.

Tonight was focused on Evelyn and I already didn't like her from last season when she was pretending to be the Black Canary. It's just disappointed that they took my favorite charcter from Young Justice and made her into this. Wah wah wah Evelyn was upset that Oliver was keeping secrets and he was an hypocrite when he tried to keep her from getting revenge. Ugh. Was this the first time we heard that her codename was Artemis? At least the show is trying to color in these recruits so they're not all just one-note.

The flashbacks were kind of boring this week too. Kovar's gang attacked a Bratva bar so Oliver pretended to be an American playboy wanting to buy a casino/bar but Kovar knew and threatened him. Meanwhile Thea found out that Lance is still drinking even though he said he quit and she hosted a music festival. Is Verdant still open? Thea mentioned it but I can't remember if it was closed down in earlier seasons. I know we don't go to the set anymore cause the Arrow Cave moved but still nostalgia.

Felicity Felicity Felicity. Why would you tell Billy that you work for the Green Arrow. He is definitely sketchy and I don't trust that he'll keep the secret. It was funny when he started to fangirl a little and wanted to gossip about who was under the hood.

Now let's talk about Prometheus. He's apparently some sort of creepy stalker dude who melted down all of Oliver's arrows to make his shooting stars which is the most hilariously creepy thing I have ever heard. He's definitely someone who knew the Hood season 1 but the show is trying to hint that it's Lance. I don't believe this at all because firstly, Lance doesn't know how to shoot arrows and secondly, why would he decide to kill the Green Arrow now? But at the same time, this is someone who knows that the Green Arrow was also the Hood when not even the new recruits knew this and knows Oliver enough to know about the list which might be common knowledge cause he did kill these people season 1. I can't stop wishing that it's Tommy under the Prometheus mask and in this Flashpoint timeline, he hates Oliver. Or maybe it's Roy, back and pissed in this new timeline.

I hope the reveal is someone we knew and cared about or hiding the identity would be super lame. Also please don't drag this who's under the mask thing for too long cause as Flash fans know, people stop caring after a point. It's probably Felicity's boyfriend tbh. Ugh.

Anyway I did like the episode although it might sound otherwise in this review. I can't help that the recruits still bore me!!
