Top 10 Movies of 2017

Hello all my lovelies! I hope you all had a great holiday season and now it's that time of year again where I list my favorite movies and tv shows of the year! I've been doing these for about four years now so you should know the drill but if you don't, I'm going to be listing my top 10 movies of 2017 from 10 to 1 with 1 being my favorite movie of the year! I also will have a honorable mentions list at the top for other movies I enjoyed this year but not enough to be in the top 10! If you're interested, I also have Top 10 Movies of 2013Top 10 Movies of 2014Top 10 Movies of 2015, and Top 10 Movies of 2016

Let's get right to it with our honorable mentions!

Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2

So up first in my honorable mentions is Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2! Now this was a highly enjoyable movie and I'm always up for comedic superhero movies but I felt as though nothing really happened in this movie and that the humor may have been too much. Don't get me wrong, I had fun but it felt like popcorn in that I watched it, enjoyed it but ultimately got nothing out of it. I did love seeing more of these characters and I think the most exciting part is knowing that these characters will meet up with the Avengers in the future and I can't wait to see that. Ego was great (though I mean who didn't guess he was going to be the villain even if you're a general viewer) and I loved the final fight where Yondu sacrificed himself to save the others. I was a bit dissapointed that Peter ultimately gave up his power cause it was damn cool but I get why he did.

Before I Fall

Next up is Before I Fall! I'm sure you know how much I love reading and movies based on books but I had never read Before I Fall so I had never planned on checking out this movie but I was bored one day and this popped up so I decided to check it out and I loved it! I love the idea of reliving the same day over and over and no matter how many times I see this trope, I never get bored even if I know exactly how each scene will go. The characters were great, the storyline was fun and the romance was cute but what really sold me was the ending of this movie and the huge plot twist that I will not spoil! Check this movie out if you have two hours to kill!

Everything, Everything

My second to last honorable mention is Everything, Everything! Again this is another movie based on a book that came out this year but unlike Before I Fall, I actually read this book and loved it so I was pretty excited to watch the movie and I was not disappointed! I loved the way this movie was shot, the romance was super believable and I had fun! I do prefer the book if I'm being honest but that doesn't mean I disliked the movie. Something about the way the book told the story felt more real to me. Click here to see my book review!

Justice League

Last but certainly not least, comes a movie which I am disappointed that I did not enjoy more: Justice League! Now if you know me, you know I'm a DC girl more than a Marvel one. I grew up watching the DC cartoons: Justice League, Justice League Unlimited, Static Shock, Young Justice, etc so I've always had a soft spot for my DC heroes and of course I love the DCTV Arrowverse slate of shows so despite being burned by Man of Steel and Batman v Superman, I did have fairly high hopes for this movie after the success that was Wonder Woman. Unfortunately this movie fell flat. The villain was a throwaway and the pacing was strange. I enjoyed the new characters though but the quick visit to Atlantis felt so strange and I hated that there needed to be a weird air pocket so characters could speak. Diana was fab as expected and I actually really enjoyed Batman here and his relationship with Diana. Cyborg was a fun addition and Barry was fine (you know I love Wally more) so it's very strange to me how this movie didn't work despite so many positives. Despite all this, I did enjoy a large chunk of this movie so onto the honorable mentions list it goes!

Now let's move onto my top 10!

Beauty And The Beast

Coming in at number 10 is Beauty and the Beast!!! No big surprise here right? I am forever a child at heart and though Beauty and the Beast isn't one of my most favorite Disney movies, I still looked forward to seeing this live action adaptation of the film and though this wasn't as perfect as Cinderella was a few years ago, I had a ton of fun watching it! The cinematography was beautiful, the songs were excellent and the actors all killed it! If you read my full length review which you can see here, you know that I just felt like something was missing from the film and after watching it a second time, I still feel the same way though I still don't know why that is! I was super disappointed in Belle's gold dress which didn't look as epic as I thought it should but overall it's a fun time especially if you love the animated movie!

Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Number 9 is Kingsman: The Golden Circle! I didn't see first movie of this series in time for my top 10 ranking last year but if I had, I definitely would have placed it somewhere on my list because these movies are so much fun! They're parodies of Bond movies and because of that, they don't take themselves too seriously and allow you to just revel in the craziness that is happening on screen. Unfortunately this sequel wasn't as fun as the first movie and there a lot of problems *cough the sex scene cough* but despite that, I still enjoyed myself. I do wish Channing Tatum was in more of this movie and that Roxy wasn't killed off as early as she was but those are smaller nitpicks. The fighting was amazing and I'm always down for spying and spy tech! You'll definitely enjoy this movie if you don't take it too seriously!

Thor: Ragnarok

Coming in at number 8 is Thor: Ragnarok! Sooooo yeah this was a pretty amazing movie and there was SO MUCH LOKI and you know Loki is my favorite part of the Thor movies (minus Chris Hemsworth's amazing body but shush I'm trying not to be a girl here) so I was all about that. I loved the comedy, the acting, and the visuals! The only reason that it's so low on my list despite the fun I had is that not only were there a bunch more movies that I enjoyed a lot more than this one but also because this movie had problems the same way Justice League had, the only difference being that I was more connected to these characters and what they were going through. The plot was strange, the comedy was a little too heavy in certain parts and though Cate Blanchett was chewing up the scenery I was so bored with her part and kept wanting to go back to Thor and Loki and Banner. I loved that Thor lost his hammer cause his new lightning powers are so badass! I liked Valkyrie though the disappearance of Jane felt very strange and out of nowhere. Overall it was definitely my favorite of the Thor movies but still nowhere near my top Marvel movies!

Spiderman: Homecoming

Number 7 is Spiderman: Homecoming! So I really wasn't all that excited for this movie cause despite loving Spiderman and Tom Holland in Civil War, I was a little burnt out on Spiderman movies especially since I've never really been a huge fan of Spiderman (not that I hate him, I'm just meh about it.) We just had a reboot a few years ago and now we're having another before the last one even sunk in. Despite all this, you know I had to go see this movie cause you know I have to see them all and I was honestly pleasantly surprised. I really enjoyed myself and Tom Holland's take on Peter Parker. I loved all the characters we were introduced to, Tony popping in and out, and the fact that Keaton was an amazing villain who despite having a pretty sketch origin story turned out to be one of my favorite Marvel villains with a fun twist in the end. Peter finally felt like a teenager and this may have been my favorite Spiderman movie that I've seen. I can't wait to see more of Tom Holland!

Baby Driver

Coming in at number 6 is Baby Driver! So superhero and sci-fi movies are basically what keep me alive which always makes me feel as though they take up too much space on my top 10 lists but I promise you that I do watch other movies and this was one of them that I not only watched but really enjoyed! Baby Driver was such a different movie compared to anything I've seen before! I'm not a car person and I've never seen any of the Fast and Furious movies but I love Lily and Ansel and I heard rave reviews on this movie so I decided to check it out and I fell in love! I loved the way music was used in this film and it has to be one of the most unique ways I've seen! I loved the plot, the characters and the acting! This movie is definitely one you have to see! I promise you won't be disappointed!

Murder On The Orient Express

Number 5 is Murder on the Orient Express! I'm a huge lover of murder mysteries and though I never read the Agatha Christie novel, I was super pumped to check out this movie and let me tell you I was not disappointed with what I got. The way this movie was filmed was so fun and there were some really excellent shots! I loved the murder plot and the conclusion was definitely a twist I did not see coming! I loved all the acting, the visuals, the characters, pretty much everything! I do not think I have a single complaint with this film other than maybe how Hercule dealt with the murderer in the end cause though I see where he was coming from, I do not think the character would have acted that way! If you haven't seen this movie and you love murder mysteries or interesting cinematography, what are you waiting for??

The Lego Batman Movie

Coming in at number 2 is The Lego Batman Movie! I freaking adored this movie and I'm pretty sure I never stopped smiling the entire length of this film. The Lego Movie won my heart a few years ago and this movie did the same! I loved this comedic take on Batman and the Bat Family and the Batman universe! The Batman/Joker relationship killed me, the jokes were so on point, there was a lot of fourth wall breaking which I teared up for cause it was so funny and I just had a great time! This movie didn't take itself seriously at all and I loved it!

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Number 3 is Star Wars: The Last Jedi! You had to have known this movie was going to pop up sooner or later right? How could it not have been! It's Star Wars! But why is this movie so high up on this list when it seems the vast majority of people across the internet seemed to have negative feelings about it? Simple. I enjoyed myself during this movie. Were there problems? Of course. Did they take away from the amazing parts of this movie? Not even a little. I loved the relationship between Rey and Kylo, Luke was so badass, Carrie was perfection and I even grew to love Poe who was kind of just there in the last movie! I mean yeah the Finn subplot was garbage and did I wish that Kylo and Rey kind of went off together whether Kylo was neutral and Rey was good or they were both good yeah but none of that took away from probably the best space battle of any of the Star Wars movies or the Rey/Kylo fight scene in Snoke's chambers or the Luke/Kylo battle at the end! People were way to harsh in my opinion about this movie. If I had to rank Star Wars movies, it'd be ESB, RoJ, TLJ, TFA, ANH, RO, RoS, TPM, AoC so you know I had fun! Also RIP Carrie Fisher, I will miss you always.

The Greatest Showman

Coming in at number 2 is The Greatest Showman! I went back and forth about whether I wanted this movie to be number 1 or 2 because that's just how much I loved this movie. Ultimately I went with number 2 but that doesn't take anything away! Again this is a movie that I did not stop smiling during like 3/4 of the film. I went into this movie with no expectations other than to have fun and so I was pleasantly surprised to find that not only was this a musical but that it was such a fun story despite being riddled with tropes that I could see coming a mile away! Every song in this movie was amazing, Hugh Jackman has the most beautiful voice and the romance between Zac Efron and Zendaya leapt off the screen! I've seen this movie twice already and I cannot tell you one negative I had during either viewing!

Wonder Woman

Now last but CERTAINLY not least, my number 1 movie of 2017 is Wonder Woman!!!!! Come on this was almost a no brainer! Like I said I did go back and forth with whether I wanted this at 1 or 2 but ultimately I went with 1 cause I just can't with how perfect this movie was and the rush of feelings I got at seeing the first good female superhero movie. What can I even say that you don't already know? Gal Gadot was perfection as Diana, Themyscira was gorgeous, the Amazons were so badass, the fight scenes were amazing, the slow motion shots were fun, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor was adorable and guys that No Man's Land Scene deserves to be memorialized forever as possibly the best scene of any superhero movie ever. Did this movie have problems? Of course, every movie does. Did the final battle with Ares get a little long and a little boring? Yes but everything else was such perfection that I did not care one bit in the larger scheme of things. DC struck gold with Wonder Woman and I literally cannot wait to see more from her. She was the best part of Batman v Superman and one of the best parts of Justice League so give me all the Wonder Woman you can!

And with that, my top 10 movies of 2017 list is concluded! I hope you enjoyed it and let me know what you're top 10 would be! I hope you have a wonderful New Year!

Top 10 Midseason Finales (Winter 2017)

Hey guys! So the midseason finales have just aired for all the shows I watch and I decided to rank them based on my own personal preferences from 1 to 10 with 1 being the highest!

1) Legends of Tomorrow
2) The Flash
3) Arrow
4) Supergirl
5) Gotham
6) How To Get Away With Murder
7) Riverdale
8) The Gifted
9) The Orville
10) Once Upon a Time

Now for some housekeeping. Agents of SHIELD has been killing it so far this season but there's no midseason break so I didn't count it in this and though technically this was a finale and not a midseason finale for the Orville, I added it to the list cause I promise you I'll forget to add Orville to the spring finale list cause it'll be so far off.

That's all for now!

Riverdale Season 2 Episode 9 Review

The midseason finale of Riverdale just aired and I have thoughts! Overall I enjoyed what we got though the episode didn't really feel too much like a midseason finale.

Let's start with the Black Hood and how we finally found out who he was. The reveal was a bit disappointing and for some reason I have the feeling that the janitor isn't really the Black Hood and that the actual BH forced him to pretend to be it or that if the janitor was the hitman, there's still a mastermind pulling the strings and telling the BH who to kill. It just seems kind of anticlimactic that this janitor we've only just starting seeing a few episodes ago was the BH and not a main character or even a side character that we've been following for a season. And I'm still confused as to how he knew so much about Betty. No high school janitor should know that a random student liked Nancy Drew when she was a kid. Besides that, we're only halfway through the season so somehow the second half needs to fit with this first half and the only lingering overarching storyline is this.

The craziest part of the episode was the stuff with Jughead and I still cannot believe what we saw with him this week. My heart BROKE last week when FP told Jughead that he disappointed him. (What did you think I was going to say Bughead breaking up? Nah that was sad but I'm pretty sure they're not done yet so I was more interested in the FP/Jughead relationship.) This week FP seemed so angry with Jughead, more than he ever seemed before and I get it cause Jughead really made some piss poor decisions when FP was in jail. Their relationship is right up there with the Lodges for me.

FP and I were both stunned when Jughead talked about proud he was to be a Serpent and all I could think was Juggie no. Especially when he literally cut off the Snake Charmer's Serpent tattoo. Shit, is there anyone who doesn't think this will come back to bite Jughead in the ass? Also what's keeping her from releasing the video anyway? I thought maybe the Serpents would find some blackmail on her but never did I think they would try to kill her or banish her. I was so ready for the Serpents to play detective like Betty always does so I was a bit disappointed we didn't get much of that. Jughead this season seems to have decided to take Archie's brain and use that instead of his own. One poor decision after another.

I'm also a little worried about this new Jughead and how it'll affect Betty. I know Betty says that she wants Jughead to be whoever he wants and that she loves him and wants to fit into his life but a lot of the stuff Jughead is doing right now is really sending him down a terrible path and I don't know if she deserves having to deal with all that. Don't get me wrong, Jughead is my baby and I will love him to death but he's in a horrible place for a relationship especially considering whatever Betty is doing now too. She's right on the cusp of Dark Betty constantly. I did love their gifts to each other though. I laughed out loud when Betty handed him that huge box and I knew right away that it was a typewriter. I hope this means Jughead will write more and I loved the note he wrote to Betty with that signed book. Her face was the face of someone who hasn't moved on yet.

Sidebar, so now Jughead kissed Toni and Betty kissed Archie when Betty and Jughead broke up. We never got a scene where Jughead admitted he kissed someone else when they broke up so does this mean that Betty can't be mad at Jughead for his indiscretion or does the fact that Betty kissed the one guy Jughead was afraid she would leave him for break them up for good?

Speaking of Betty, she and Archie were the ones to figure out who the Black Hood was. I kind of zoned out for this part cause I've stopped being a fan of this BH storyline a few episodes ago once he stopped threatening Betty and he basically killed no one. I mean no one's shedding tears for Grundy. I did enjoy seeing Betty and Archie be close. I don't really ship them but I did enjoy a lot of their moments together, especially when they were opening Secret Santa presents. I know they're supposed to be best friends from childhood but weren't Archie and Jughead like that too? Did they just constantly exclude him from their things? Anyway, their kiss felt out of nowhere though and neither seemed to want to discuss or repeat it again afterwards especially since apparently after this kiss Archie dropped off a sweet locket for Veronica. I wonder if this means that neither felt anything in the kiss or if at the very least Archie felt nothing.

Also was anyone else waiting for that awkward moment when Betty looked out her window and saw Varchie making out on the porch? No? Just me? Ooops.

The Lodges are one of my favorites. I love how sneaky and mob boss-y they always seem to me and now that Veronica knows the whole plan, I can't wait to see what happens. I wish we had heard it out loud but it can't be too terrible if Veronica agreed to help with it right? So maybe the Lodges aren't being that nefarious after all? Also what credit card allows you to charge 85,000 on it? What a guardian angel Fred has. Who else has a rich ass friend who would pay off your medical bills? As much as ethically I want to say Veronica seemed right, I would have to side with her parents on this one. That's a shit ton of money and just cause they have it doesn't mean they should hand it out whenever they want tbh. Does that sound callus? Sorry not sorry. And what kind of health insurance wouldn't even pay a fraction of the hospital bill? Someone needs a new insurance plan.

The others didn't have much to do outside of quickly appearing. Cheryl was the only one who got some storyline and it seems as though money problems is a common theme this week. Although apparently Cheryl's mom's idea for solving the problem seems to be sleeping with someone else. I didn't recognize who that was in that quick shot we got so I'm sorry about that!

We won't be back until mid January but it looks like a fun episode to return on. The Southside will be merging with the Northside and drama abounds I suppose! It looks like Varchie is officially back together and we didn't get any shots of Betty but I can't wait to see what happens. Bughead are going to have a hard time staying apart when they're around each other constantly again. I can't wait! Also this wasn't in the trailer but I kind of need Jughead and Veronica to hang out more. They just have so much in common and they barely spend any time together.

And with this I have officially finished my last midseason finale review so keep an eye out for my midseason finale rankings post that should be up sometime Friday or Saturday!

Agents of SHIELD Season 5 Episode 3 Review

Guys this new season of Agents of SHIELD is KILLING it. I'm so utterly confused and loving every single moment.

I love that SHIELD decided to go for it this season and unlike Inhumans actually created a whole world that feels larger than what we're seeing and produced actual threats and ways of making the show have stakes. My biggest problem with Inhumans was how for an advanced world, their set looked like something I could have built with no budget and for a show about Inhumans there were barely any Inhumans to be found. This future world has none of these problems and the only downside for me is how confused I am about everything but in this case that's a good thing cause that means there is a lot in this world that I have yet to discover or understand. I just hope that we get explanations soon cause a little confusion is fun but prolonged confusion can turn audiences off.

Let's start with Jemma and Abby. I grinned as soon as I saw Ciara Bravo's name in the credits for this episode cause I loved her on Big Time Rush and Red Band Society so it was fun to see her here as well. I love that she's an inhuman that can change the density of her body because not only it is great to see more inhumans on this show, but because it allowed our world to get a bit larger and for us to learn more about this world. Apparently everyone who turns eighteen gets the chance to go through terragenesis like the Inhumans did and if they become Inhuman, they're sold to a woman who according to the preview trailer runs an inhuman fighting ring and their families are set for life. I'm not sure if the show explained if every single eighteen year old needs to go through terragenesis or if it's a choice like going to college or something (terrible example but you know what I mean....) I loved Jemma acting like a mother to Abby and that she was able to get through to her with that beautiful analogy of stars in space.

Meanwhile Kasius is still uber creepy and I can't wait for Jemma to murder the shit out of him. Sinara seems to really dislike Jemma on a personal level as though she is jealous that Kasius is so mesmerized by Jemma. Why? It seems strange that Kasius finds Jemma pretty or interesting in the first place cause to me it seems like the Kree view humans as a sort of pet and you wouldn't fall in love with a pet. Sinara shouldn't really be worried but maybe she acts this way with all humans and since we're following Jemma, we see her interact with Jemma more.

Sidebar, remember when Terrigen crystals used to kill humans that didn't have Inhuman DNA in them? Are we just pretending that doesn't exist anymore after in Inhumans when humans were touching those crystals and nothing was happening to them?

I also have another question about these Inhumans. I thought that the backstory for Inhumans was that a rogue faction of the Kree created Inhumans but then the Inhumans became too powerful and other factions of the Kree decided that the experiment wasn't a good idea and killed all the Inhumans they could find. If I'm remembering that correctly, why would they continue to create Inhumans now? Wouldn't the Kree (and whatever type of alien that woman who buys Inhumans is) be afraid that the Inhumans would try to overpower them eventually or do they think they've made the humans on the Lighthouse so compliant that rebellion wouldn't even come across their minds? Maybe they waited a few decades to allow the humans to lose all hope before reintroducing the Terrigen Mist?

Daisy was sold into the Inhuman fight ring as well and the whole time I was just like "Daisy no." It drives me crazy cause our team are supposed to be spies! I don't care if you've been dropped into a different world, you have to blend in just enough to gather intel before attacking. I don't think I'm a fan of Deke but he had a point! Daisy should have played the long game or at least a longer game than she did. She literally just stormed into the upper decks with literally no plan and in the least subtle way. How did she think it was going to go? I understand being worried about Jemma but she needs to know that Jemma can take care of herself. I do kind of like that Daisy ended up in the ring at the end cause it gives us an in into the Inhuman world of the future so I'm excited about that. I hope we see more of Ciara Bravo in that case.

So I guess we should talk about Deke and Tess now cause they're apparently main characters in this arc. I think I like Deke more than Tess to be honest even if he did sell out Daisy in the end and that he's clearly looking out for himself more than anyone else. But the weird thing is that he does oddly enough care about the rest of the people on the Lighthouse and when he told Daisy that he's playing the long game at the end, it made me wonder if maybe he's still on Daisy's side but playing it from a different angle. Tess on the other hand was seriously annoying this episode with her constant bemoaning over our team not following her rules. Like we get it Tess but shut up already. After three or four times of saying the same thing over and over, I'm exhausted.

Speaking of, I'm kind of interested in this "us v them" thing the team has going on. It's strange cause if this was me in their shoes I would be the person trying to get back to the past because this isn't my time or my people. I'm sorry if that's callus but honestly if Deke is right in this world follows multiverse logic, this timeline is set and there's no point in fixing it now and the best thing to do is go back and make sure this timeline isn't our timeline even if this timeline will still exist in a parallel universe. Phew I hope that made sense cause time travel is very confusing. I feel like Daisy, May and Yoyo seem to be in the same mindset as me while Coulson, Mack and Jemma seem to be more of the mindset that we need to help these people or in Coulson's case maybe we are meant to be here and not in the past. Coulson I love you but no. This is a fun world to play around in for a few episodes or a season but I want my normal world back and my baby Fitz isn't here so not even a small chance!

Yoyo had some fun with her speed and I love her so much. I'm so glad she's a regular on the show now. It was so awesome watching her outsmart everyone and steal that tablet and plant that gun. Mack was not happy by it but again it's one of those us or them thing. I was also hoping for more Daisy and Yoyo team ups but with Daisy gone, Yoyo has to be very careful with her powers now especially since we know the Kree have Inhuman inhibitors. Again, you guys have to be spies! Plan the long game!

Coulson, May and Mack found a transmission that they believe is coming from the Earth. I totally thought it was going to be Fitz as soon as the radio was found and that Virgil was talking to him (through timey wimey stuff) but then I wondered if maybe he found a way to get a message to the future like with the post card. I was a bit disappointed to find that wasn't the case at the end of the episode but I'm interested to see who is living on the Earth now. I don't believe the show would hint at this if you really couldn't live on the Earth anymore.

Sidebar I kind of really wish that this show would acknowledge the rest of the MCU. Like okay we can't see the Avengers on screen but at least have someone drop a mention or something about how they all died? Or what about the Inhuman Royal Family? You're telling me that they couldn't teleport somewhere else when the Earth was dying when they did the exact same thing when Attilan was destroyed. Inhumans as a show did so poorly that they should just merge the worlds together. The Royal Family would do great on SHIELD and we'd have answers to so many questions! Plus more Inhumans is always a good thing (even if the show is not worth watching!)

I can't wait until next week! I hope we get more answers about this world and the Inhumans! Also I would love to see Fitz again but I feel like it's too soon yet.... I really want that Fitz/Hunter team up on Earth kicking ass and taking names.

I'll see you all next Wednesday for my Riverdale midseason finale review and boy do I have thoughts on that first half season!

Arrow Season 6 Episode 9 Review

Ahh such a crazy and kind of sad episode of Arrow! Unfortunately as a midseason finale it was a bit underwhelming until the final scene though as an episode it was great. Shall we dive in?

So I want to start with the Oliver and Felicity wedding reception and how I was straight up grinning from ear to ear the whole time. Oliver seeing Felicity walk in for the first time, Donna and Thea bemoaning their elopement and being slightly salty, Oliver and Felicity doing all the wedding stuff like cake and bouquet tossing, Curtis getting super drunk, Donna and Quentin still having chemistry and Rene's beautiful speech about true love. Ugh I loved it all and though I would have liked to see more of them throughout or at least having a moment to be all cutesy outside the opening, it made sense cause of all that we had to deal with. I loved that Felicity backed all of Oliver's plays tonight and how much they were on the same page as each other the whole time.

Speaking of, the big thing this episode was that Lance found out that one of the team was testifying against Oliver and the episode devolved into OTA vs the newbies which was both sad and kinda awesome. I actually fell in love with the newbies throughout the course of last season and the start of this one so it was a bit heartbreaking to see the divide between the two but at the same time OTA has such a special place in my heart that it warmed me to see them stick together and that Oliver and Felicity trusted Diggle completely to let him in from the beginning. I did like that Diggle had a bit more of a struggle with not trusting Dinah cause of the friendship they formed and it was a bit of the same with Felicity and Curtis at the end. It also made sense why Oliver freaked out immediately about betrayal cause Evelyn really did dig in deep last season and it would scare Oliver to relive that.

So the mole turned out to be Rene which I kind of thought but at the same time I really thought the fact that it had to be a team member was a bit of a red herring. I was so sure that it would Black Siren pretending to be Earth 1 Laurel or that Evelyn survived Lian Yu and came back to seek more revenge. But on the off chance it was a team member, Rene was my top pick due to his custody battle for Zoey.

I don't know who's side I would pick in this whole thing cause I understand Rene was stuck between a rock and a hard place but at the same time, Rene is literally the smoking gun and without his testimony, Watson has nothing so he really should have spoken to the team about this. I don't know if I feel like Oliver overreacted or not cause I mean Rene is literally sending him to prison for life but at the same time I feel like he deserves a bit of slack cause I mean this is his family on the line. As a Arrow viewer who's followed Oliver for 6 years, my gut reaction is to choose Oliver but objectively Rene's choice makes sense.

What I am confused about is Curtis and Dinah's response to all this. Of course OTA had to look into the newbies and it's not like they did anything that the others wouldn't do. I mean Dinah hounded Diggle for two episodes about his thing and now she can't understand the idea of not turning against the team? And Curtis I would understand leaving the team if he didn't want to be a vigilante anymore because of Paul but nope he's just uncomfy with the team spying on him. Personally I don't think this whole thing was a breach of trust because if my life was on the line, I'd want to be double sure who was by my side. Oliver's gone through way too many betrayals to trust so easily. Slade, Adrian, Evelyn, Isabel, Anatoli.... The list goes on and on.

I'm not too worried cause I'm sure the team will reconcile soon enough. I want to know if the others think Rene is right in testifying against Oliver for his daughter cause who's to say that Watson now that she has Rene by the balls won't make him testify against the rest of them?

The episode ends with us finding out that the Arrow Cave is bugged and that's how Cayden James was one step ahead of the team which is a bit silly cause how do they not sweep for bugs? I understand Team Flash not doing it but Oliver and co are much more paranoid so you would think.... The reveal that Anatoli, Vigilante, Black Siren, Cayden James and Dragon are all working together was so exciting! I love the idea that Cayden is the brains of the operation and Anatoli is the one to predict how Oliver will move while the others are the muscle. It's a great villainous team up and I can't wait to see more!

On a sidebar, I am a little annoyed that Vigilante is just straight evil now cause I thought it would have been so much more interesting if he was an anti-hero so that Dinah had to wrestle with the idea of whether or not she still loved him. Now that he's a clear villain, it won't be such a grey struggle but more of a black and white one.

I also loved everything we got with Black Siren and Quentin. Soft Black Siren reminded me of how much I miss Earth 1 Laurel and suddenly I'm not so against Black Siren turning good again.

Ugh you know the more I talked about this episode, the more I talked myself into liking it more. I'm sad we have to wait until January to get more! The promo shows that the newbies will be creating their own team cause they still want to be in the field and Oliver is struggling on his own which begs the question of how many episodes this fight will go on. Normally my money would be on one or two episodes but this season of Arrow has taught me that the show can slow down some storylines longer than expected like the John Diggle Green Arrow one so I have no idea! I just hope it's sooner rather than later cause I don't like them split apart. I also wonder if there's a way for Rene not to testify but keep Zoey... I mean what real hardcore evidence does Watson have about any of them besides the testimony of Rene?

My Riverdale midseason review will be up next Wednesday and then keep an eye out for my rankings of midseason finales!

Gotham Season 4 Episode 11 Review

Guys what an insane episode of Gotham! It was literally like plot twist after plot twist after plot twist. Everyone was trying to out maneuver each other and it was a thrill to watch. I think the best thing about Gotham and perhaps the reason that it is still so loved is the villains and how they attempt to outwit each other. Overall it was a great midseason.

Let's start with Sophia and Penguin. Penguin apparently goes to tattle on Sophia to her father who believes like Jim that Sophia could never win and wants to take her home. I was really surprised to see Falcone and even more stunned when he got shot and I felt for Sophia though I loved that his death led to Victor changing sides. I knew this change of alliances was coming immediately when Victor was weird during the funeral and poor Penguin who will never understand that names mean something and no matter how big you get you are still new money. I don't know if I like the Sirens working Sophia cause she's a little insane but I'm sure they'll change sides again once they realize who she is. My favorite twist though is definitely the final one where she revealed that she did everything to get revenge on Jim for killing Mario and that she brought Pyg into the city. I straight up gasped. Props to you Sophia.

Harvey quit the GCPD and guys what a drama queen he is. Especially now that we know that Harvey and Jim both accidently got a bunch of cops killed and are in the same boat. The difference is that Jim will try to make up for his mistake while Harvey will stew in his guilt all broody-like. I hope they patch things up at some point this season cause I don't want this to be the end of Harvey or the Jim and Harvey bromance.

Speaking of bromance, my baby Bruce is still struggling and though I was so pumped to see him enter his playboy phase, with Alfred soooo against it, it kind of ruins the fun for me cause I don't want Alfred and Bruce on the outs. I can't actually believe the episode ended in Bruce firing Alfred and kicking him out. I kept waiting for Alfred to be like okay I'm going to pull out the big guns and go get Selina but maybe that's for the next half season? Ugh I miss Bruce and Selina moments. Also I know we're supposed to feel all the feels for this breakup but honestly I'm sure Bruce will snap out of it soon enough and they'll get back together even if Alfred is no longer Bruce's legal guardian especially since in this universe Alfred is his Ra's.

Ed is apparently in love with Lee and that makes me laugh so hard. Poor Ed. She's going to see Jim in a few episodes or so and it'll be like Ed who? But at the same time I kind of love this and I really wouldn't mind Lee and Ed cause if Jim can sleep with all sorts of villains, why can't Lee?

Sidebar, I loved Barbara's reaction to knowing that Jim and Sophia were sleeping together.

In the same vein of love, Grundy is now Butch again and I'm thrilled cause I love him and Tabitha and I died of laughter the whole time this storyline was going on. When Tabitha got ready to go and then was like I'm going to beat you until you're Butch made me laugh so hard. I adore their relationship though and I love that even while Butch was Grundy he still thought she was pretty. I can't wait to see him and Tabitha next half season when he's back to normal. I am curious though if this means that one more knock to the head will turn him back like in the ring cause if that's the case, I will be forever frightened of Butch getting hit.

Oh and we cannot forget the return of the one and only Jerome! I'm pumped he's back and with Penguin! Shit will go down next half season!

Overall this was a great episode and don't forget to keep an eye out for my Arrow review later tonight!

Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 Episode 9 Review

Feelings. All the damn feelings. I'm so pissed at the Legends for making me cry twice over Martin Stein but not really cause I loved it anyway. So much happened and so much to talk about!

Jax is gone and though I did think that he might die during the crossover (to make everything ironic in that Stein wanted to leave but actually it'll be Jax), I did not expect him to leave the show tonight. I can't decide if I like this or not cause it makes sense for him to leave now that he has no powers and no fighting ability but I feel like we haven't seen the last of him and that he'll pop back up later this season or next with Firestorm solo powers or maybe he'll show up older and more badass like Sara. I did love everything we got with him and Stein and I loved that the team was still mourning him and that we saw young Martin Stein who finally convinced Jax that no he didn't want to change his future cause everything is as it should be. Again I was weeping when they said goodbye and that Martin just wanted Jax to be happy. Jax needs a lady with how much the Steins have been talking about him falling in love. Maybe he should go back to Star Labs and be with Caitlin so that at least one version of Firestorm is with Killer Frost.

Speaking of love interests, Sara and Sharpe are totally going to get together. I got the vibe pretty early on but I was hoping it wasn't true but after tonight's episode, Sara looked at her the way she looked at Alex in the crossover and bam it'll happen soon enough. I just want Sara to go back to Nyssa cause I ship them so hard but Katrina Law is busy I guess and Sara is staying away from Nyssa for reasons as she told Alex. I did love that Sara learned that Rip was in jail (another prison break episode anyone) and that she "met" Mollus so now we can get past the whole no one believe Rip thing. Also sidebar how the hell does no one believe Rip like he founded the damn Time Bureau so shouldn't he get some power over the agents? They deposed him so easily.

I gasped out loud when Constantine appeared in the shadows. Like I knew that he was coming in tonight's episode but I was so wrapped up in everything we got that I totally forgot and now I'm super pumped for him cause though I didn't watch the Constantine show, I do love his character in the animated movies and in the little bit we got in Arrow. I hope he stays around for longer than one episode and that his semi-permanent arrival accounts for why Jax left. The Legends need him not only to fight whatever Mollus is but to fight Darhk cause clearly only magic can fight magic cause he's been mopping the floor with the Legends and the Time Bureau. Also I love him so I want him around!

Leo from the crossover did join the Legends team again and I'm so confused on so many levels. We did get an answer to why Leo decided to stay on Earth 1 rather than going home with Ray and I liked that answer but I'm still pretty confused cause I though Wentworth Miller was done with the Arrowverse. Maybe he changed his mind after he read Leo's character? I like Leo I do but just like with the Leonard we got last season, I miss our Leonard Snart and none of these others are the same. I miss the rapport he had with Mick and Sara and Ray.

Also since I don't review Legends weekly I guess I should talk about Damien Darhk's return. Honestly I'm getting a little sick of him. I didn't love him in Arrow or in last season of Legends but I liked his frenemy thing with the Legion which is the only reason I could deal. Now he's back again and intellectually I can understand why but at the same time I don't love it. I was hoping they would end up killing Darhk this week so that his daughter could take over and that ultimately she was the Big Bad of the season and Darhk was just a red herring but no such luck.

The preview for our midseason return in February didn't show much other than a bunch of Constantine which I loved. It looks like he's not here cause of Mollus or Darhk but something else so I'm thinking this will unfortunately be a one or two episode off. I did love Mick's joke about Constantine and Rip being similar cause they do look it. I can't wait!

Check out my Arrow and Gotham midseason reviews Thursday night!

The Flash Season 4 Episode 9 Review

I have no words for tonight's episode except wow. I thought Supergirl's midseason finale was good and then I watched this one! And you know the episode must be extra good cause Flash isn't one of my favorite Arrowverse shows due to a number of reasons.

I freaking love the Thinker even though I keep thinking that if this was a Supergirl or Arrow villain, the problem would be solved in minutes while Barry seems to struggle to capture the Thinker cause for some reason he suddenly needs DeVoe arrested legally rather than sticking him in the pipeline like all the other metas he's captured. Or is it cause DeVoe hasn't actually committed a real crime yet like murder? Either way I loved that he mailed that knife to Barry so that it had Barry's fingerprints on it before using it to "kill" his real body while he took over Dominic's body. By the by poor Dominic!

Also sidebar why didn't Barry run out with DeVoe's body? He should have been fast enough to grab DeVoe, the knife set and peace out before the cops entered the apartment. I get it though cause drama and straight up Barry's powers only seem to work sometimes when it's convenient.

Iris was acting weird in tonight's episode and I couldn't decide why that was. She was strange from the moment we saw her and Barry open presents to the final scene where she gave Barry and Joe a weird look for wanting to celebrate Christmas. Like Iris and Barry just got married, she should be happier at least in the start of the episode even if it turns to fear or upsettedness after Barry is kidnapped. I do like her in charge of the team (it did take me a bit to warm up to that) but now it seems like maybe she'll give it up soon cause she told Barry she isn't sure how much longer she can make the tough calls. I hope if she does leave, she'll go back to journalism or get a good storyline cause please for the love of everything can we give Iris something to do.

Caitlin had an awesome episode and I loved that it was all about her fear that maybe instead of everyone hating her for becoming Killer Frost that maybe everyone actually prefers Killer Frost to Caitlin. It was a little weird that Harry was the one to go find her in Jitters and try to make her feel better rather than Cisco cause first of all I didn't think Harry cared and secondly are they even close enough to have this talk? I was also a little afraid that Dominic would end up as a new love interest for her cause Caitlin inviting him to the Christmas party was the same thing she did with Julian but then plot twist he's actually DeVoe so we won't get that (thank god cause my girl needs some time to herself unless Julian comes back or her and Cisco finally become a thing.)

I still don't like Ralph. I can intellectually see that he's growing as a person but I don't know he still gives me the creeps and clearly I'm one of the only ones cause everyone else I know loves him. It is nice that he's slowly becoming a better person but his jokes when they were fighting Amunet weren't actually funny and his speech with Cisco about not having friends was either poorly acted or my dislike of the character bled into how I viewed it cause I kept waiting for him to be like gotcha or something cause it didn't sound genuine.

Also Wally is gone again for reasons I suppose. I love that he's traveling the world and becoming a better hero but I just wish we could see it happening. Please move Wally to Legends or something cause I miss him and Flash isn't going to use him properly.

The next episode isn't back until January so we'll have to wait. It looks like Barry is going on trial for murder and I can't decide if I think it'd be poetic of the show to send Barry to prison for the murder he was framed for like his father or not. I also want to say I'm worried about him but honestly there's no universe in which he won't get exonerated whether it happens in the episode we come back for or later on. It still looks like fun and I hope that he doesn't admit that he's Flash cause I still want Oliver to be the one to admit he's the Green Arrow á la Tony Stark.

Keep an eye out for my Legends midseason review later tonight!

Supergirl Season 3 Episode 9 Review

Holy moly guys! I didn't know if this was going to be a good episode or not based on how I felt about a lot of the story that led to this point but man was I wrong! Everything (minus two things) worked for me and it was an epic season finale despite us all knowing everything will be fine!

So let's start with Reign cause how can you not?? I still really don't like that Reign is kind of a second personality like Killer Frost was to Caitlin cause I always feel like that's lazy writing but like the Killer Frost thing I need to accept it and move on. I also still don't like Ruby who acts like such a brat and honestly I'm calling it now that she's just around to be the reason that Samantha snaps back from Reign in the end cause I have a feeling that since Samantha herself isn't evil, that she'll go back to normal by the end of the season. Straight up I roll my eyes every time Ruby is on screen.

I thought Reign's costume was a little lame when I first saw the promo pictures for it but seeing it in action really sold it for me. I also really loved that Reign's mask really did cover up and disguise a lot of her face cause usually it's like dude your mask is only covering up your cheekbones, how can I not recognize you though in this world people can't recognize Kara as Supergirl so it's kind of just a thing we have to ignore. I also freaking loved the fight between Kara and Reign at the end of the episode. It was super badass and I loved how it was shot all around the city. The only thing I disliked was that the camera was so shaky which is supposed to make us feel like we're in the fight but all it did was make everything blurry and hard to see though I did enjoy the shaky camera in the docks when Reign beat up those gang members. Anyone else get a sort of Batman vibe?

Sidebar do we know why Reign is so much more powerful than Kara? Was she made to collect more sun radiation than a normal Kryptonian? Also what does Reign want? It seemed like she wants to save the world but her methods of going about it is to kill anyone standing in her way rather than the typical rule the world villain plot we see. I hope I read that correctly cause it'd make a really cool plot twist.

I adore Imra guys. I didn't think I would cause I love Kara and Mon El together and I don't want to see him with another woman but Imra is just so cute and energetic and so so pretty that I just can't help but love her. Since I didn't review the episode that Mon El came back in, I'll recap my thoughts on this whole thing. I hate that the showrunners made Mon El married cause it's such a rehash of season 1 when Kara was watching James and Lucy together and I really don't see how this can end well cause we all know that Kara and Mon El will end up together (otherwise there really was no point in having everyone talk about him all season and having him return) so either Imra dies (please don't cause I love her and she deserves to be happy too) or they end up divorced which is weird. I saw some comments online saying that Mon El and Imra are probably just pretending to be married for reasons but I don't see that after this week. This whole thing is kind of making me want Kara to move on from Mon El (especially since we know Brainiac 5 is coming and he's played by Jesse Rath who I loved in Defiance.)

I was really hoping for more about the Legion but I understand that this is a Reign episode and there's only so much you can do. Also I know Kara is heartbroken but come on no one wanted to know more about the Legion or the 31st century or anything?? And of course I'm still waiting for Mon El's super suit and now I want Saturn Girl to get one as well! Does she have any powers other than strength? I hope we see more soon cause I'm so excited the Legion is on Supergirl this season!!!

James and Lena had their own thing this week and I kind of really like them together. I wasn't sure how I felt about them at first but as the season went on I've warmed up to them. I love that James is getting something to do and how hilarious was it that he carries his Guardian shield with him all the time? They make a pretty awesome power couple and I loved that he backed her up when she went to Morgan Edge rather than trying to take over. Speaking of, Edge was still really annoying but I'm loving him as a villain. He's so Lex Luthor and I'm here for it!

This was a great midseason finale and I'm sad that we have to wait until January for Supergirl to return but next week's episode is called The Legion of Superheroes so I'm crossing my fingers we finally see them! The promo mostly showed a lot of Reign being evil but there was a quick shot of the Legion Rings so PLEASE! It also looks like Kara might still be out cold from Reign attacking her which could be fun.

Don't forget to check out my Flash and Legends of Tomorrow midseason finale reviews tomorrow night!

Agents of SHIELD Season 5 Episode 1 and 2 Review

The highly anticipated season 5 premiere of Agents of SHIELD just aired and guys my mind is blown. Everything I expected this season to do did not happen and I'm left in a vat of confusion. I'm just constantly stunned at how amazingly well this show is written and I love being so confused and on the edge of my seat cause that's how you know shit is going down! Let's dive in cause so much happened.

Shall we start with where our SHIELD team ended up? Everyone but Fitz were somehow teleported into the future (how many years we have no idea yet) where the Earth was ravaged by earthquakes and the Kree arrived to save a small population of humanity but treat the humans as second class citizens (slaves if we're being honest.) I have so many questions about this. Why would the Kree come to save humanity in the first place? Why didn't SHIELD or someone else on Earth (if SHIELD is gone) create a space station to save people instead? Why create this world in which the humans are pets instead of someway else? Also I know we have to pretend like the Marvel movies don't exist but in what universe would none of the Avengers or Asgardians or Inhumans or any other friendly aliens besides Kree step in? Also why do the Kree hate humans so much? From what we saw in Guardians, humans aren't despised. So many questions.

I'm calling it right now though. I bet this future is one where the Avengers lost to Thanos and he destroyed the world. I call bullshit on Deke's theory that Daisy "quaked the Earth to pieces" cause no. I'm also sad that Fitz isn't up here with the rest but I understand it's cause Iain was filming something else while they filmed this premiere so actually I'm kind of pumped for when we get back to him on Earth in the present day to see how he fixes the situation. Also I know Nick Blood who played Lance Hunter is coming back this season so anyone else want a Fitz/Hunter bromance to save the day? Just me? Okay.... I'll just live in my fantasy corner.

We met some new characters as well in Deke and Tess who will be on our side it seems and a few assholes. I love that even in a post-apocalyptic world in which Kree rule all there are still asshole humans who think they're better than other humans. Like hey morons humans should stick together in this scenario. I mean seriously. Anyway Deke and Tess seem interesting though I don't know enough about them to give my opinion yet. But seriously, no Deke and Daisy relationship please. I still want her and Robbie together but I can see the chemistry and I know the show will go there on Deke and Daisy so I guess I'll have to grin and bear it. Tess is played by the same actress who played Maya on The 100 and I didn't like her there so I have to try and ignore my feelings about Maya to enjoy her here cause it wouldn't be fair to dislike her when she's playing a new character.

Sidenote, this season feels so much like a mix of Legends of Tomorrow, The 100 and Hunger Games. I mean what the hell was with that reaping thing? Everyone with a red badge has to kill a person? Ugh. That's how you keep people complacent.

I loved how the team appeared and were so badass killing Kree left and right without any problem especially with YoYo and Daisy's powers. I still wish the show had found a way to keep more Inhumans on the team or on the show in general cause I do love them (unlike the Inhumans show which let's not even talk about - shivers.) I assume that the team is going to try to find a way to save these people and possibly kill all the Kree or something like that which I'm going to dislike. In these kind of time travel stories I'm always like guys focus on getting back to your time cause if you fix the timeline in the past this future won't exist but if you fix the future, nothing really changes and your lives are still shit.

Also let's take a moment to talk about poor Jemma who's been turned into this weird deaf slave who can only hear when her master talks. Shit. Jemma's going to murder that guy or Fitz will when he finally shows up.

The promo for next week looks crazy. Still no Fitz but a lot of Daisy kicking Kree ass which I am here for! Also Deke needs to take it down a notch. Tess literally said that no one really knows how the world was destroyed so Deke's is just one theory. I hope we get some more answers next week and also dial back the new characters cause I'm really not going to enjoy them constantly telling our team to blend in and stop fighting and blah blah blah. It's going to get real annoying real fast. Can't wait to see more though cause SHIELD is killing it and is still my favorite show on air!

Don't forget to check out my Supergirl review Monday. It's the midseason finale for all the Arrowverse shows and Gotham so keep an eye out for my thoughts!

Legends of Tomorrow Season 3 Episode 8 Review

Well I laughed, I cried and I screamed out of joy and now the 4-part crossover is over!

I'm not entirely sure how to break up this episode cause everything was so intertwined but I guess let's start with Stein. So he did not die in the Flash episode but survived long enough to rip my damn heart straight out of my chest. I was sobbing like a damn baby when he said goodbye to Jax and Jax was sobbing because he didn't want Stein to leave him. I loved their relationship and I loved how many lives Stein touched when he was around. Jax telling Clarissa and Lily about Stein's death broke my heart and then the funeral really just tore me apart as if I wasn't sad enough. It was strange cause I didn't think I cared about Stein this much but I think because of how everyone else reacted, I was more torn. His funeral was lovely and I loved Jax's speech and Caitlin telling him to tell Ronnie she misses him.

Now back to the beginning with the evil Earth X-ers. The Legends came in and saved the day in five seconds which I loved cause they are superpowered and it would have been totally unbelieveable if they couldn't stop a few men with guns. I loved Felicity's speech about how evil Oliver would have to go through her to get to Kara and even evil Oliver was like damn girl. I also laughed out loud at our Oliver appearing with evil Kara like he knew what was up and stopped there first. Evil Kara's death was a bit anticlimactic but expected cause the show basically gave our heroes a way to stop the strongest of the Earth X-ers. I also loved the juxtaposition between Barry and Oliver in that Barry couldn't kill Eobard and let him go while Oliver didn't hesitate for a second before killing evil Oliver. Sidebar: I know Barry couldn't kill Eobard but why did he just let him go? Couldn't he have tried to lock him up or something??

I can't wait to see how this crossover effects Kara and Alex in the future cause I feel like Alex is now probably officially over Maggie and Kara is probably ready to embrace being human again. I love that Alex's love life has been given such amazing consideration and that it's been written to well. We got such a great couple of scenes in which she tried to move on, regretted it but ultimately realized that there has to be more than one great love out there for her and I can't wait to see who she is. I hope we meet her soon.

Also why did Earth X Leonard Snart decide to stay on Earth 1 when he clearly is in love with Ray and has a home on Earth X? Did he leave with the Legends? I thought Wentworth Miller was done with the Arrowverse after this crossover so did he change his mind cause if he stayed just for the funeral, it would be kind of anticlimactic.

My favorite part of this episode has to be the final scene though where Barry and Iris and Oliver and Felicity got married. I love that Barry went all the way to Star City to grab Diggle to marry them and I snorted at him vomiting. Man I missed Diggle! Barry and Iris's vows were lovely and they made me tear up. Iris looked so gorgeous even in her normal clothes. I also loved Felicity's frantic proposal and Oliver's confusion that changed to awe and I had a grin from ear to ear during this whole thing. What a great ending and with the core two couples of the Arrowverse and Diggle who started it all. It was a little strange though that Cisco and Caitlin weren't there cause they were Barry and Iris's Best Man and Maid of Honor respectively but I guess since it was spontaneous and last minute that it made sense.

I didn't see any trailers for the shows next week but I'm sure they'll all be great. I can't wait to see the fallout from this crossover play out cause each show should get some changes! Tune into Supergirl Monday!

xoxo Allie

The Flash Season 4 Episode 8 Review

I am living for this crossover tbh and this may have been my favorite episode so far! I love how even though these episodes are technically broken up, everyone is so mixed up that it feels like one big movie rather than 4 episodes! Let's jump in!

Okay so I want to start in Star Labs on Earth 1. I loved seeing evil Kara and our Kara talk about humans v gods and how they're not human. It was great cause our Kara was having a struggle with this idea on Supergirl all season and I hope that now that she sees evil Kara talking about how she's better than humans that it'll jump start her into enjoying her life again and being human whether that means she'll move on or talk to Mon El or just live her life. I loved seeing a quick shot of everyone in the pipeline and I snorted at Dinah's comment on Cisco and Harry being really annoying. Where were Rene and Curtis though? I thought they were placed in the pipeline as well. I thought that this episode would somehow end in them being freed so that they could stop Eobard and evil Oliver because despite how much I love the girls, I didn't think they'd be able to save Kara alone.

Speaking of Felicity and Iris, I was living for their badassness. I think they were stronger and more smarter tonight than they were in that terrible girls night Flash crossover. Iris was able to come up with good plans and Felicity did her thing and saved Kara even if it was for a moment. I loved seeing them sneak around Star Labs undetected and I love how because they're not actually superpowered or fighters that everyone overlooked them long enough for them to kick some ass. They did manage to call the Legends for backup so they'll be fine though I totally thought they would pop in at the end before Felicity was killed by Eobard thus preventing the Earth X evil plan but also saving the girls. I also wanted a bit more interaction between our Felicity and evil Oliver cause though he loves evil Kara, we all know Olicity will get married in Legends so I wanted a sort of realization from her that this was not her Oliver and that she wants to marry her Oliver.

Now to the best part of the episode over at Earth X. It slays me every time how even when the crossover is supposed to focus on Barry that Oliver is always in the mainstage and I love it cause I freaking love him.

We met a few more familiar faces in Leonard Snart although on this Earth he's Citizen Cold, Winn though he's General Schott here, an evil Quentin and a new face in Ray. I thought he was Booster Gold for a second and I got all excited but then after googling it really quick he's actually called The Ray and he has light powers so it was less exciting though I love the actor who played him. I loved seeing Cold flirt with Sara for a few seconds cause you know how much I shipped them and I loved seeing a colder Winn in the general and I was so glad that Alex's talk didn't change his mind cause it would have been so out of character for that to happen. We also got a little Red Tornado which was awesome and Earth X Felicity who I gasped at seeing. I definitely did not expect that and I loved Oliver's face when he realized who evil Quentin brought in. Of course Oliver couldn't help but to save her cause Felicity's his girl no matter on what Earth.

An evil version of the Wave Rider was sent to Earth 1 which will be something for the Legends later tonight I'm assuming. I loved Alex and Sara's talk about sisters and I completely forgot how alike they were. I know Victor Garber is leaving the show but I really didn't expect him to die cause that really closes the door on him ever returning. Gideon brought Sara back from the dead last season so if we bring him through the breech, he should be fine right? For some reason I thought it was more likely for Jax to die tonight.

Only one episode left of this crossover so make sure to check out my Legends review later tonight!

Arrow Season 6 Episode 8 Review

Part 2 of the 4-part crossover continued with Arrow and what another amazing episode! I loved that we still got a lot of storyline continuation but also more focus on Arrow characters. Let's dive in!

So let's start with the Arrow stuff cause this was technically an Arrow episode! I'm so glad we got Felicity's reasonings in this episode cause it would have been annoying to drag it out more. I kind of like the role reversal in that Felicity is scared of losing Oliver and being afraid to jinx what they have know while Oliver is terrified that Felicity doesn't love him as much as he loves her. This fits with what I thought cause I was like there's no way Felicity just never wants to get married cause she was so excited two seasons ago. I also loved that Barry and Iris were so involved in Olicity and how they both talked to each separately and how Iris didn't break Felicity's trust by telling Oliver why Felicity was saying no to marriage. We're chugging along nicely to the double wedding.

Sidenote, I freaking love Iris and Felicity's friendship. They feel so much more real than Caitlin and Iris.

It was also nice to see a hint of the team with a quick scene with Curtis and then a quick fight scene with Mr Terrific, Black Canary and Wild Dog. We also got a quick mention of Diggle recovering which I guess is why he's not part of this crossover. It makes sense but I still miss him.

We got a little Westallen tonight with them being all precious and looking at the tape of Reverse Flash dying the first time. I loved that Iris knew what Barry was thinking before he said it. Like I said earlier, I love Felicity and Iris together so it was fun seeing them just talk and comfort each other and sneak around Star Labs together. Who thinks they're going to kick some major ass at some point tomorrow especially since most of the team is on Earth X now!

The Firestorm struggle was expanded a little more this week with Jax admitting that he's upset cause he sees Stein as sort of a father figure and it's just hitting him that Stein is leaving. Mick was also around and being ridiculous. He was so amused with Frost and I actually snorted out loud when he tried to scare Caitlin into becoming her. Speaking of, I loved seeing her fight evil Oliver even though she did lose.

Alex was still super awkward around Sara and I love how Sara's like dude get over it, we had a one night stand no feelings were hurt and that it led to Alex thinking about Maggie and how much she loved her and how she wants her back. I love that Kara and Alex are talking about this and that Kara was trying to comfort her cause their relationship is my favorite part of Supergirl.

And now last but not least, let's talk villains! We did find out that this Reverse Flash is the same one Barry defeated in season 1 and they sort of handwaved away any questions by saying that time travel is weird so I'm not even going to bother. I loved Kara's reaction to Earth X Kara and Oliver being married and we found out that they've invaded not only to take over this Earth but because Earth X Kara needs a new heart and our Kara is a perfect match. I was curious about that conversation between Eobard and Kara about Oliver picking Kara over the Nazis but now it all makes sense. I kind of love that Oliver no matter on what Earth or universe is such a closet romantic.

Oh and I almost forgot the best part! TOMMY FREAKING MERLYN was back and I screamed when he took the Prometheus mask off. I bet it was a nod to all the fans that thought that Prometheus was Tommy last year. I loved it and it was so nice to see Colin back for a few minutes!

All the heroes were taken to Earth X and it's going to be so much fun. I assume that by the end of this crossover Earth X's Nazis will be defeated and Earth X will be freed. I wonder if we'll see the leader that everyone keeps talking about or if it's Oliver cause Kara seemed to hint at it because he was the one to make the plan and she talked about him being stronger than Hitler so.... Ugh not a sentence I thought I'd ever be writing.

Tune in tomorrow for part 3 and 4 in Flash and Legends of Tomorrow! I will be reviewing both!

Supergirl Season 3 Episode 8 Review

Oh my gosh guys! It's finally here! It's finally time! It's the 4-part crossover and this time, it really is a 4-part one! So much happened but a lot of this episode revolved around character beats rather than the big bad which I really enjoyed! Let's dive in!

So I guess I'll separate this by show. Since this was a Supergirl episode, let's start with that. I loved that we opened with Kara fighting a Dominator and all the jokes about Dominators being so last year were hilarious. I loved that we got a slight shot of Mon El but honestly guys after last week, Karamel has kind of soured for me. Like I don't blame Mon El for moving on but I blame the writers for some terrible writing. There's no good way to fix this cause we all know Kara and Mon El are getting back together so either Mon El divorces his wife (ugh) or she dies (double ugh) and I doubt they're pretending to be married like I saw some people comment. The whole situation makes me want Kara to move on and not give Mon El another shot. But again since everyone at the wedding asked her about where he was, I doubt they'll end. I'm excited to see her play around with our other heroes again!

Now to Alex who slept with Sara like we've all been begging for. Ever since Alex came out, everyone's been like get her with Sara and it did not disappoint. I loved that they took shots together and ended up in bed but then the best was how awkward Alex was about it the next morning and her mini freak out with Kara who was amused by the whole situation. I also loved seeing her and Sara kick some ass together and then mutually respect one another for their badassness.

Next to the Legends crew where we only saw Firestorm having a real storyline. I was surprised though that Ray didn't come to the wedding but Mick did. Like the others I understand that Barry and Iris don't know but Ray they do and they're better friends with than Mick. I'm assuming this was cause it'd be funny or something to have him around. We got more of Martin and Jax trying to break up Firestorm and honestly I'm a little sick of this now. Like do it already. We all know Victor Garber is leaving, why drag it out so much? I'm still curious how they'll do it and if Jax will keep his Firestorm powers cause honestly if he loses them it'd lead to some cool storyline but also why would he even be on the Waverider anymore.

I also loved seeing Caitlin and Stein together cause they have the most precious relationship and it's always nice when Caitlin talks about Ronnie. They had a bunch of moments together last crossover and I'm glad we got more now. I loved his reaction to her Frost outfit and her explanation of it and how he knew that she helped with the Firestorm compound cause he knows her so well. It's adorable tbh.

The Arrow stuff was pretty awesome though you know me and my bias. Oliver and Barry being bros is always fun and I loved Barry's little damn when Oliver came out dressed to the nines. Same Barry same. I also loved their little talk and also the girls' talk with Felicity about whether Olicity would get married. I know this whole thing is supposed to be all dramatic and everything but honestly who hasn't seen those double wedding pictures by now? We all know Oliver and Felicity are going to get married by the end of this but this does not mean I'm not curious to know why Felicity shut him down. I wonder if it has to do with how poorly the last time went and if she's afraid to try again or if it has to do with how if you're married you can't testify for your spouse and with Oliver's trial, she's a big part of covering for him. Also Oliver babe, your first proposal was so much more romantic and now you can't even get down on a knee?

Sidenote, speaking of people left out of the wedding, where was all of Team Arrow? Especially Diggle!!

Now to the man and woman of the hour! For an episode about their wedding, Iris and Barry didn't really get too many moments together and honestly this is pretty on par with the normal which is unfortunate. I did love Joe's speech though and I teared up when Barry teared up when he saw Iris. She looked so gorgeous in her wedding dress. I also loved him leaving breakfast and a note for Iris in the morning.

Cisco looks like he's going sidelined for this crossover due to a concussion and he doesn't seem to be the only one. Wally is going to be protecting Joe and Cecile so he's probably out too. Why bring him back if he's just going to be sidelined again. Also not that I'm complaining but where was Ralph? I feel like we'll probably see them tomorrow during the Flash episode.

Oh man I almost forgot all about our big bads!! As we thought the big bads are the evil Nazi versions of our heroes from Earth X and it looks like so much fun! So far we've only seen Kara and Oliver who are together on this Earth or so it seems and Reverse Flash as well as Prometheus. I can't wait to see who else we get. I'm also not sure what their plan is yet. Do they want to take over this Earth too or are they afraid the Earth X resistance wants to bring these heroes over to help so they want to take them out before they can? Either way, I can't wait to see more!!

Part 2 of the crossover is on Arrow so keep an eye out for that review later tonight!

Arrow Season 6 Episode 6 Review

Another awesome Deathstroke episode aired tonight and I loved it more than last week's! It's always so much fun to see Slade cause he just brings a whole new energy to the show though if I'm honest, this week just reminded me how much I miss Oliver in the field and how much I want him back as the Green Arrow.

First of all, Diggle Diggle Diggle.... I actually loved where this drug storyline ended up going and how it did not end up in addiction or at least as far as I can tell as of now. It was great seeing Lyla back cause I love her and I was so glad when he admitted to Lyla what was going on. I hate when couples keep secrets from each other so I was so sure that Lyla was going to catch him with the drugs rather than allowing him to be the one to come to her. I also loved that Lyla didn't go to the team or force him to come clean with the team. I assume it's cause this drug was a kind of steroid rather than like heroin or something so it wouldn't be extremely dangerous. She gave him the space to come to the correct conclusion on his own while making sure he knew where she stood on the matter. Also JJ was fun to see again!

Also I laughed out loud in that scene where John was admitting to the team what was going on and Curtis was like dude I'm hurt you didn't come to me when you realized the problem cause I literally invented a chip to help someone walk which is EXACTLY what I (and pretty much everyone watching this show) has been yelling at Diggle to do. I'm sure he'll create something for Diggle and even more it'll be next week cause that's how time flies on this show. I would have kind of liked if ARGUS was the one to solve the problem but I don't think it's a big enough presence on the show to do anything. Honestly if John wanted to keep the tremor a secret from the team, he should have gone to Lyla forever ago!

Now over to Slade and Joey. Okay straight up Arrow has decided to swap Joey and Grant's personalities as far as I can tell cause in the comics Joey is a hero while Grant is supposed to follow in Slade's footsteps. Now that we've heard that Grant exists, how long do you think until we see him? I was kind of really thrown by Joey to be honest cause he was a gigantic ass tonight wasn't he? Forcing Slade to kill Oliver, looking up to mercenary Slade, trying to kill his own father. Wow. And I though Slade was screwed up. I will never look down on scenes reaffirming Oliver and Slade's friendship though and I loved that both learned a lot from each other.

The flashbacks tonight were really fun and much better than the ones from last week. I loved seeing what Slade was up to after Lian Yu and how the Mirakuru was fading before it suddenly flared up. I also loved seeing Shado again and I audibly gasped when she popped up cause I didn't think we'd see her. I also loved how great of an actor Manu Bennett is cause straight up I forgot how crazy he was under Mirakuru cause it's been so long but this episode showed him sane and insane and it was such a frank difference that I just want to say props!

So what are the chances that Joey is going to kidnap William next week? I know it's the Thanksgiving episode but it's also right before the crossover so Oliver has to take up the Green Arrow mantle again. In order for that to happen, something big must go down for Oliver to change his mind after being so clear that he wants to stay away from the Green Arrow and Joey did find out about William this week so. It was fun seeing William and Felicity playing video games and how he tattled on her feeding him ice cream for dinner. I love that Felicity is so comfortable with William that she just pops in even when Oliver's not around and that they apparently talk cause how else could William tell her that he was bored with Raisa. Sidebar, how hilarious was that weird zoom out when Felicity and Oliver kissed? I totally thought we were going to change scenes or we'd see someone watching them but nope we just zoomed out and then back in.

Also you'll never hear me complaining about Oliver and Felicity scenes but how is it that they get not just more but also sexier scenes together than Barry and Iris aka the couple about to be married in two weeks.

So never mind with my William kidnapped prediction! It looks like Oliver will be arrested for being the Green Arrow even though in world this makes no sense and the FBI lady has no proof. Also how are they going to explain the fact that Oliver is in jail but Green Arrow is out on the streets? Though since John ran out of that drug, he might not be able to shoot arrows which might negate that claim. It's also the return of Cayden James and Black Siren so that's always a fun time! I'm still really surprised they're airing Arrow on Thanksgiving but I mean I'm not complaining!

Unfortunately no Arrowverse reviews next week because it's Thanksgiving so I'll see you in two weeks for the crossover!!

The Flash Season 4 Episode 6 Review

I want to be positive and say I liked this episode but I really don't care for Ralph's character and I'm still pretty bitter they replaced Wally with him and gave him a better sidekick storyline. I did enjoy the ending of the episode though and some of the stuff with Harry was interesting so it wasn't the worst episode of the Flash I've seen so positives I guess?

Let's start with the Ralph stuff. So first of all what's up with his horrid costume. I did laugh at all the jokes with it from Ralph thinking it was a tarp to him complaining about how tight it was to asking Barry for help to get into it. Despite this, it seems very strange that Cisco would make it. I'm going to assume it's cause he doesn't like Ralph so he didn't feel like making him a cool suit. Even Mon El's black pants and shirt was a better costume. He went through the thing that all these sidekicks seem to in that he doesn't understand that saving people is the most important part of being a hero. I enjoyed his powers more this week though I think it's cause we saw grey material stretching and not something that was supposed to look like skin. I'm still waiting for when he gets to do cool shit and something more than just stretching his arm or body. I just watched an episode of Justice League Action with Plastic Man (who I know is a different character than Elongated Man but they have similar powers) and he got to do so much fun stuff with his powers that I'd like to see.

Also I really hope since Ralph is going to be around constantly that he'll have a good arc into becoming a good guy cause he's such a piece of shit and for some reason everyone (in the audience) loves it. Like I don't want to drag the real world in but honestly this was probs not the best episode to air after the stuff that's been going on behind the scenes. I mean Ralph was literally going around calling out women's body measurements. Even Mon El who a lot of people disliked for being a frat boy didn't do stuff like that.

Now onto Harry. I always like seeing different versions of Harry so tonight was fun. I loved that Harry started to dislike the other versions of himself because of traits that he found annoying in them that as Cisco pointed out was in him too. I also loved the scene where all the different versions of Harry had to apologize to each other and point out something they liked in the others. It was such a school thing to do and I loved it. Cisco's exasperation with the whole situation really just made all of it.

I loved the final reveal of DeVoe and the surprise and confusion that Barry and Joe felt. Ugh he's so smart and I knew that they would stage something like that to confuse Barry. I am hoping though that Barry and the others don't just immediately dismiss him as the Thinker cause they should know after Eobard Thawne as Harrison Wells in a wheelchair, anything is possible! I can't wait to see more!

Lol spoke too soon. It looks like Barry will still suspect DeVoe but everyone else won't next week. I wonder if everyone will realize that Barry's right or if he'll have to drop it to appease the others which will make them all look kind of silly when the reveal comes. It looks like there will be a bit of a dark tone for the episode which is interesting!

Tune in Thursday for my Arrow review!
