Once Upon A Time Season 6 Episode 13 Review

There were parts of tonight that I liked and parts that I didn't particularly care for but despite that, I enjoyed this episode! This show might as well be called Once Upon a Terrible Life Decisions. Every time you think characters are taking a step forward, they take five steps back.

Let's start with my least favorite part of the episode which was the flashbacks to Rumple right after he got his Dark One powers. After 6 seasons we really don't need flashbacks about our main characters especially since we really didn't learn anything new. We already know that Baelfire didn't like Rumple's magic and that Rumple tried to suppress it for a little while but it didn't work and he embraced his dark magic. So did we really need another flashback of the same thing? What we did find out was that literally everyone is a dick and that Beowulf is an idiot. What was funny was that they recast Baelfire in these flashbacks. I guess the previous one was too old to play young Baelfire now. Also I guess we're supposed to think that poor baby Rumple turned evil cause Baelfire pushed him to it but that's so lame. In the past six seasons we learned that Rumple turned to evil because of his own decisions so it's lame that the show wants to retcon that. At least now we know why Neal was the worst. Young Baelfire wasn't any better.

Now onto another idiot aka Gideon and his big plan. The whole stealing Emma's powers thing does make a bit more sense but that's only cause of the magical sword cause of course it's magical. Sigh. Gideon's plan is still idiotic. He wants to be a hero but is too cowardly to do it on his own so he thinks the only way to do it is to steal Emma's light magic. Did he get anything from Belle? She would never have done something like this and I don't know why he thinks that she would be okay with what he's doing now. Why can't he just ask for Emma's help and work with her. That would make him a hero! Ugh I kept waiting for Rumple to go to Belle and be like help me with this but he's still keeping secrets cause if we've learned anything in the past six seasons Rumple it's that you should hide things from Belle when things between Belle and Rumple are getting better. At least he admitted the truth to Belle in the end. Baby steps Rumple. Their hug gave me life though. The way Belle looked at Rumple and the surprise in him when she hugged him and then the way he threw himself into the hug. Ugh why do you keep pulling me back in??

Speaking of romantic moments, Hook proposed to Emma and she said yes and it was completely adorable but also tainted with the fact that Hook is keeping secrets AGAIN. Jesus christ what is it with the men of this show refusing to tell the truth. I kept screaming at the tv for Hook to spit it out but he didn't and now we'll probably get several episodes in which he feels guilty and Emma is thrilled but confused as to why Hook isn't thrilled. Ugh. At least this show doesn't have problems with getting their couples married so it won't be like the CW shows in that regard.

Robin tried to escape Storybrooke tonight cause he feels too much pressure to live up to the expectations that Regina has of him based on the other Robin. I did feel for Robin this episode cause it makes sense why he wanted to run away and unlike the other characters he didn't try to kill/hurt anyone to get it done. Also I kind of love the idea of this Robin being the soulmate of the Evil Queen rather than Regina but not only is this kind of tainted with the whole EQ and Rumple thing in 6A but also I don't think it can work out in the show cause then there would be two Reginas running around if EQ turned good....

I am so sick and tired of the Regina show on Once Upon a Time so it's bad enough when it's just Regina but now that the EQ is back, we're going to have double the amount. Can we please for the love of everything kill the EQ or Regina next episode? Either one will do so we can move onto bigger and better things. PS Still no Aladdin or Jasmine...

Anyway, don't forget to tune in tomorrow for my Supergirl review! Bye for now!

xoxo Allie
