Supergirl Season 3 Episode 20 Review

I was really excited to see this episode and I really enjoyed everything with Kara and Mon El in space but there were chunks of the episode that I was just not about which dragged this episode down for me.

Let's start with the stuff I liked which was Argo City! I loved the idea that some part of Krypton lived on like the Bottle City of Candor only this time it was all of Argo on a space rock which is kind of hilarious. And of course the one thing Kara needed to save the Earth was what was keeping Argo City alive! I loved seeing Kara's mom alive and well and her reunion with Kara was sweet although a bit underwhelming cause I was expecting just more. More tears, more shaking, more emotion in general. I kind of hope Argo somehow comes to Earth at some point this season or next cause I can't imagine that the show would introduce this world and more importantly Kara's mom only to never touch on it again. I do understand why Kara had to leave right away (cause there is a Worldkiller on the loose) but it seemed kind of unlikely that Kara would be like okay bye and not even bother to ask her mom to come with them. I'm hoping this foreshadows our return to Argo.

Especially since it seems that one of the members of the council is the same priestess that's been counseling Reign. I hardcore didn't recognize her until the end of the episode when she donned her cloak because like I've said before I don't really like the whole Reign storyline so I sort of tune out when she comes on. I loved the scene where Kara had to beg the council to help and that they did after hearing her speech. I know I harp on the whole full of hopeful speeches thing Kara always does but I think it really really works in certain cases and this was one of those. I kind of also really liked that we touched again on who is Kara. I feel like the theme of this season has been for Kara to question who she really is and whether Kara Danvers or Kara Zor El is her real personality and that came up again tonight when Kara mentioned to Mon El how comforting it is to be around only him cause she doesn't have to pretend.

Speaking of Mon El, tonight was another episode where we saw how different this Mon El is but yet the same. He was so regal when he talked to Alura (and I loved that she welcomed him almost immediately unlike how Kara judged him to be a bad person just cause he was from Daxam) and that he was so touched by the sick child he saw. I loved that he returned the cloaks they stole and that he was able to cure that child of his illness. I kept waiting for that child or his mom to show up and tell Kara or the council what good he did as a way to convince the council to help but luckily it wasn't needed.

Sidebar I was kind of glad that this episode wasn't Kara and Mon El talk about their feelings in space like I thought it would be. Like I know they're going to get back together at some point and that in order to do so they need to talk but hardcore I don't want to watch it. I miss Kara and Mon El from last season when they were just this adorable couple.

I actually also really enjoyed the little bit we got with Lena and Reign tonight. I loved that Lena was struggling with whether or not to kill Reign as a last resort and whether killing one life to save the world would be worth it of if she'd become a monster. Personally if you've been following my Agents of SHIELD reviews or know my stance from Arrow, I do think it would have been worth it to kill one person in order to save the world. It was a very secret agent move and unfortunately one the DEO wouldn't make now that they work with Supergirl.

Now to the stuff I didn't like. Ruby Ruby Ruby. I was finally warming up to her last week but she went right back to annoying this week. And it's like I'm thrilled that Winn got something to do but babysitting a brat wasn't one of them. I hate how inconsistently the show writes Ruby to be. One minute she's super smart and the next she throws tantrums about missing her mom. Girl we know. Winn would have been the best person to talk to losing a parent on paper but in actuality I was so bored and actually cheering him one when he was being a dick to Ruby.

Another annoying storyline this season was the stuff with Alex. Despite this, I did like that it all boiled down to Alex wondering if she could be both a mother and a DEO agent. Now I don't think J'onn was probs the right person to ask (psst call Oliver Queen.) What I didn't like was that this part of the episode dragged on and on and I was so bored during most of it. I mean talk about low stakes. We all know Alex is going to be fine so why bother. I did wonder by  the end of the episode if maybe this was gearing up to Alex leaving the DEO (and possibly the show) and dude if I wasn't about to lose my shit. cause if Alex leaves the DEO that's pretty much a goodbye to her character as the show can barely handle it's few characters in the DEO.

Next week's promo looks like it'll touch on pretty much everything I was talking about slash hoping for from Argo City. Kara and Mon El will be going back possibly for good (at least on Kara's part) and a lot of the episode will probably focus on the question of whether Kara can be selfish or not cause if she stays on Argo with her mom then the Earth is vulnerable but if she stays on Earth, her mom who she thought was dead wouldn't be with her. I still hope for some sort of compromise like moving Argo to our moon or in our atmosphere or something. Since the dome functions to block others from seeing it through satellites, they could live anywhere around Earth without being noticed like the Inhumans in the comics. That way Kara can visit more often and not have to leave Earth unprotected. I also kind of wish Superman could come back for an episode or so cause he needs to know about Argo City!

Anyway I'll see you all next week for my next Supergirl review! Also don't forget to check out my Top 10 Episodes of - Insert Show Here - that I am posting every day this week!

The Flash Season 4 Episode 23 Review

I actually enjoyed Flash's finale tonight because of how different it was. For once Barry couldn't solve his problems by running faster and I enjoyed that the show and the characters had to get creative to defeat DeVoe. Some questions were answered and some were not.

Let's start with the fact that Ralph was still alive! I really did think he died cause the show gave Barry like a whole five minutes to pack up and grieve Ralph so it seemed kind of strange that he would be back despite that. That's not to say that I wasn't happy to see him and I almost teared up when Barry did! I enjoyed seeing him and Barry fight side by side again though I was quickly reminded how annoying his quips are. I loved the idea though that since the goodness in DeVoe died that Ralph was the backup goodness that could take back control since it was his body! I hope that next season (since we all know he's sticking around) that he'll dial back his annoying traits and dial up the heroic ones that I enjoy watching.

I loved the idea that to defeat DeVoe Barry had to go inside his mind and defeat him there cause that's such a fun and interesting way to beat the Big Bad. I did think it was kind of cheesy that Harry had to destroy the very last part of his brain that made him who he was just so the team learned what should have been obvious. I mean seriously. Where else would good DeVoe be after they checked his house? Where he fell in love with Marlize obviously! The final fight in DeVoe's mind where Barry and Ralph fought DeVoe clones was a lot of fun too and I loved that once DeVoe was "defeated" he still had a backup failsafe in moving to the Thinker chair and then allowing the satellite to fall to Central City as a final middle finger to Team Flash.

The only thing I'm not satisfied with DeVoe is that we never really got an explanation as to why he didn't just kill Barry. Like his other Big Bads wanted his speed or to make him suffer but Barry was never a part of DeVoe's plans other than being a nuisance so it seemed strange that he wouldn't just kill him and get it over with.

Tonight seemed to be a goodbye for Harry which felt kind of abrupt if I'm being honest. He was able to get most of his brain back though he seems to be of average intellect now and I actually kind of like that. He was dumb to use the dark matter cause he really should have known better and I like that there were some consequences to what he did but this way he still has the most important parts of his brain aka his memories and feelings. I love how the team was like you're going back to Earth 2 why and it's like duh Jessie is there! I still don't know why he didn't leave earlier in the season when he actually started losing his brain cause I know team Flash is like family to him but Jessie is literally his daughter and if I was him I'd want to spend my final moments with my daughter. I wonder if the show is done with bringing different Harry's into Earth 1 or if this is the last time Harry will appear permanently cause Cisco's words about this being the end of an era were pretty ominous.

Cecile had her baby and I want to give her all the props cause girl was going through labor while using her mind powers to help. I still don't think this was worth all the annoying scenes over episodes of Cecile's adventures in mind reading but I enjoyed it anyway. Their baby is super cute and it turns out that the mystery speedster girl isn't Jenna (their daughter.)

Speaking of, we finally learned who the mystery girl is and it's Nora Allen aka Barry and Iris's daughter which is pretty much what everyone predicted. I'm a little disappointed cause it was the easy route to take and if we were going to do this, why spend so many episodes being like ooh look at this girl who could she be. I'm still curious about why she seems to enjoy being around everyone but Iris. Do they not have a good relationship in the future? Did Iris die? So many questions that I hope will be answered next season!

And sidebar the best part of the episode may or may not have been Wally coming back to welcome baby Jenna. I love him so much. I loved his talk with Joe about how he is finding himself on the Legends team and how they're allowing him room to discover who he is away from Barry's shadow. Did I mention I love him?

So overall this season was touch and go for me. I did enjoy it a lot more than last season and I really enjoyed that the villain wasn't another speedster. If I had to rank seasons it'd be 1, 2, 4 and 3! I'm definitely looking forward to next season cause I can't wait to see what the show does with Nora and what this big screwup she did and how that leads to the Big Bad of season 5. Also sidebar but of course it would be Barry's daughter who goes time traveling and shit hits the fan.

I'll see you all Monday for my Supergirl review!

Supergirl Season 3 Episode 19 Review

I ended up really enjoying tonight's episode of Supergirl even though the trailer last week didn't seem like this episode would be up my alley! I feel like whenever I have low expectations, Supergirl always seems to surpass them which is a plus!

So though the promo made it seem as though the episode would be more of a standalone James episode, it turned out that the episode did progress the Worldkiller storyline as well. It's funny cause I honestly forget how great of a character James is normally because he barely ever has anything to do on the show but every time an episode focuses on him (and I mean on James Olsen the man not Guardian cause no matter how much time passes, I'm still not a fan of that storyline), it just reminds me how fascinating and three-dimensional he is. I loved that the episode focused on James being a black man and what the meant to him and to the people around him. My blood boiled while my heart broke for James when the cops found him on the scene and assumed that he was the villain despite clearly being in the Guardian costume. I usually prefer when these deeper messages are kept away from the Arrowverse cause they never really seem to do a good enough job (remember that gun control episode of Arrow last season) but I actually thought the topic was well done tonight.

James's speech to Lena about how he was cuffed for the first time when he was seven broke my heart and caused me to tear up a little and for the first time, I actually felt the chemistry between the two. I loved Lena's response to the speech and that James decided that he needed to come out as Guardian if only to prove to young kids like him that there are people like them helping the city and saving the world. I wish we'd get some more deeper moments like this between the two of them and I wonder if maybe I'm not feeling their relationship cause all their major moments are happening off screen with all the craziness with Reign happening on screen.

Speaking of Lena, I'm loving this distrustful of Supergirl Lena that we're getting. I've wanted Lena to become evil since she appeared on the show and not just cause Katie plays an amazing villain (shoutout to Morgana) but also cause I always feel like a Super show isn't at it's peak without a Luthor. It's like Batman without Joker! The fight between Supergirl and Lena is interesting cause though I agree with Lena that Supergirl went a step too far in searching her vault secretly, Lena seems to really want to hold a grudge. People make mistakes sometimes and refusing to forgive someone for a lie seems to be a little much. But at the same time, Supergirl getting upset with Lena for making that x-ray proof force field around Reign was a little much cause how's that any different that the DEO holding cells?

I'm also enjoying how this Lena/Supergirl fight is affecting Kara and her identity. I've always felt like Kara is a more interesting character than Clark cause unlike Clark, she actually remembers being on Krypton and that allows for some interesting storylines and questions about who she is. Is Kara Danvers her real personality or is it Supergirl? Or is it somewhere in the middle. I also liked how this struggle paralleled Olivia's struggle about who she is in the episode as well and that Kara was able to get through to her to tell her that it was okay that she didn't know who she was yet and that she had her whole life left to figure it out.

I loved Mon El in this episode as well and the return of Mike who had me cackling when he pretended to climb into the wrong car and then feel pain when the cuffs were put on him. I always love when the show allows us to see how much Mon El has grown as a hero (showing not telling please) and so I loved that he was able to figure out a way to contact Kara as well as fight pretty well. I guess we're finally going to touch on the Kara/Mon El relationship next week and I'm not exactly thrilled (cause I'm a little over this whole thing) so I hope that they figure out their feelings quickly and not drag it out. I enjoy them as a couple but I'm not enjoying this drama the show has created this season.

Surprisingly I actually ended up enjoying the stuff we got with Ruby tonight as well when you know that usually I'm really not a fan of her. I liked that it ended up being Mry'nn that reached Ruby through her depression and grief rather than Alex cause though Alex understands to a degree what Ruby's going through, Mry'nn went through the same thing Ruby did in losing his whole family except J'onn and recently too so his insights are more valuable. It was very sweet when they played foosball together and I actually really enjoyed the scene with Ruby and Alex at the end when Ruby admitted that part of her fear is in that she might become like her mom as well.

The promo for next week looks really good. I love it when Supergirl goes to different planets cause that's something only Supergirl the show can do! I bet the vision Kara is seeing of her mom is a hallucination or some sort of alien virus thing like the Black Mercy was cause I doubt the show would actually bring back Kara's mom for real though I think it would be really really interesting and totally ballsy of the show to do.

I'll see you all tomorrow night for my Flash season finale review!!

Agents of SHIELD Season 5 Episode 22 Review

What an intense season finale that left me in tears! Overall I enjoyed the episode minus a few things that bothered me but in the long run I'm left so glad that this wasn't the series finale after all and that we'll get one last season to wrap things up.

The episode began with everyone fighting about what to do and whether or not to give the Centipede serum to Coulson or use it with the odium to take out Talbot. While emotionally I agreed with saving Coulson cause how can you not want to save him, rationally I was on board with YoYo and Fitz cause to me it seems like the end of the world is a little more important! When they were discussing how to get Talbot to even take the serum if they chose that route and Fitz talked about someone taking it and being absorbed, I had a feeling in the pit of my stomach that he was talking about himself. The show seems to have hand-waved the whole Fitz forcibly giving Daisy her powers back but I had a feeling that Fitz needed to be redeemed and this was how it was going to happen. Luckily that wasn't the case.

YoYo though I agreed with her went too far even if again I understand where she was coming from. She keeps talking about how Daisy isn't leading but at the same time when Daisy does make a decision, YoYo ignores it for what she thinks is right. I get that she's terrified of Kasius and the future she's seen for herself but there's doing something to stop that future and what YoYo's been doing for the past few episodes. I'm glad that she was the one to save Coulson in the end and that she recognized how crazy she's been. It also looked like she and Mack reconciled though it might have just been the grief talking for a few moments. We'll see next season.

Speaking of Mack, his holier than thou attitude was present and just as irritating as sandpaper tonight. I get it, Mack's supposed to be the moral core blah blah blah but straight up he's a freaking SHIELD agent not a random civilian. SHIELD was literally built to make the tough calls and it irritates me that he and the others keep going on and on about how they have to be better and to a degree I agree with that notion but sometimes the world isn't black and white like Mack wants. Like can you even imagine someone telling Fury the stuff Mack has said all season? And now he's going to be the director of SHIELD next season and though I get why, at the same time I'm like Mack would make a terrible leader cause Daisy turned it down cause she thinks with her heart too much and I'm like but Mack's no better! He would never be able to make the tough call! The position should have gone to May tbh.

Daisy was able to defeat Talbot much more easily than I expected if I'm being honest. Like Talbot and Graviton and the whole destroying of worlds was hyped up so much that his defeat felt a bit anticlimactic. Talbot felt more of a side story rather than the main plot with how little he did and how fast he was destroyed. I did love that Daisy was able to overpower him by taking the serum and then blasting him into space! Harsh! I was a little confused when it was happening cause I thought Daisy was going to do the Fitz plan and let herself be absorbed after she injected herself but I was like there's no odium in that serum so will it do anything at all? I also loved her speech to Talbot but I'm kind of glad that it didn't get through to him cause I always think it's super cheesy when the hero is able to talk down the villain. Her goodbye to Coulson was really heartbreaking but one of my favorite things about this show was seeing their father/daughter bond grow over 5 seasons.

I was sobbing when my baby Fitz died and I really thought the show killed him off but at the same time I was hoping that they'd find some sci-fi way next season to bring him back. I totally and completely forgot about the other Fitz floating around in space which if I think about it makes no sense.... If they changed the future would there have been any need to go to the future in the first place? I'm just going to go with what the show is telling me and just be thrilled that Fitz will be back. And this Fitz didn't experiment on Daisy so maybe we can get their sibling relationship back cause I did miss it this season. Fitz's death scene was heartbreaking and I was sobbing as Mack and May got emotional. I also kind of loved and kind of hated the fakeout at the end where we thought we were saying goodbye to Fitz when it was actually Coulson we were saying goodbye too.

Sidebar it looks like Deke did disappear at some point in the episode but we didn't see it which made it feel so strange. I really do think Deke's relationship with Fitzsimmons was played with as much as it could have been and I'm disappointed we never got a scene with Fitz finally accepted Deke cause as much fun as the scenes where he made fun of Deke were, it was sad that Deke didn't really get the love of his grandparents.

Coulson made it out of the season alive but we were told that he only had a few days to weeks to live so this was a last goodbye for him. I loved that he didn't take the serum cause he remembered what it did to Garrett and what it did to him before. He was also able to finally go to Tahiti and May was with him which makes it all the more sweet. The plaque dedicated to him in the Quinjet was also very sweet and was played to throw us off cause we all thought it was for Fitz cause Coulson woke up but the reveal was pretty great.

Like I said, I did enjoy this finale overall and this season was pretty good although it's not going down as one of my favorites. If I had to rank seasons I'd say 4, 2, 3, 5 and then 1. I'm interested to see where next season goes because this did feel like a series finale with lots of loose ends being tied up. I hope Robbie comes back and we get to see Fitz being saved from that pod and I'm interested to see Mack leading. In my dreamworld Hunter and Bobbi would come back for the final season as well but I know that might be hard to pull off. The rumors say that SHIELD won't come back until next summer which is really sad and that it will be around 13 episodes. I hope the show leaves with a bang!

I'll see you all Monday for my Supergirl review!

Arrow Season 6 Episode 23 Review

I'm so confused with this finale! It was epic start to finish but it ended so very differently than we're used to on Arrow! I really enjoyed it and I loved that there was barely any slow moments and that the action was back to back!

So like I said I loved every fight scene tonight and how badass it was seeing our vigilantes all together again and fighting side by side with the FBI! The opening fight scene in the police station may be one of my favorites of the episode and I loved how the episode jumped right in without any hesitation or delay! The weird thing that this finale did was not wrap up the big bad storyline. Lots of other shows don't get rid of their big bad at the end of the season and instead land a blow to them before fighting them again next season but the Arrowverse has never done that before Black Lightning which leads me to wonder why the show decided to take this route. I wonder if this was because the writers saw that and decided they wanted to do something similar to Tobias Whale.

Now normally I wouldn't mind this but I didn't really love Diaz as a villain so I'm not thrilled per say that he'll be back next season. This would have been so much better if it was done with Deathstroke or Prometheus but instead we're left with more Diaz. I kept checking the time left as the episode was wrapping up wondering how he'll be stopped but instead he was left mostly fine at the end though his hooks in the city were ripped out. I do hope that Diaz will be dealt with pretty early on next season and maybe his trio of assassins will be the new Big Bads? Though we did do the League and we all know how well assassins worked,

Sidebar, it was really clever of Oliver to use Felicity's sniffer to hack his drive because I was wondering why Oliver even bothered to go hand-to-hand with him when he could have taken Diaz out from a distance. I was also a little confused about why Black Siren just blasted him off the bridge. Girl why can't you turn your Canary Cry up to 100 and blast him to pieces already??? I shouldn't be wondering why on this show which is the only one in the Arrowverse that is okay with killing!

Poor Quentin is dead like we all thought was going to happen after it was announced that Paul Blackthorne was leaving the show. I love that he went out protecting his sort of daughter and that Black Siren was kind enough in the end to call Sara who I was super excited to see. It was a little sad that she didn't appear in more than a scene or two. When I heard she was coming back for the finale I thought Oliver would have called her in to fight Diaz but on the plus side, she had a great entrance: backlit and flowing hair and everything. I also loved that she was kind to Black Siren but at the same time when it was time to look for comfort, turned to Felicity cause even if Black Siren looks like our Laurel, she's not and I wish the show would differentiate that a little more. Seeing Black Siren and Sara together though really kind of makes me wish Black Siren could move to Legends. Arrow already has Dinah and we don't really need Laurel and now that Quentin is gone, Sara is the only person left that she could have a great dynamic with.

I knew pretty early on what deal Oliver probably struck with Watson cause right around the Rene stop on the Oliver apology tour (still bitter af that the show seems to think that Oliver was the one completely in the wrong and that the recruits didn't need to apologize as well) I was like well this is sketch. I loved that Felicity picked up on it pretty quickly as well but the reveal in the hospital when Watson came to arrest Oliver was amazing. She's so annoying and someone explain to me how on Earth he's being tossed in federal prison without another trial? Also is it okay to try Oliver again for the same crime when he was already acquitted? So much confusion. The scene with Oliver and William and Felicity in the police interrogation room was so emotional and I do wish that we had one last kiss between Oliver and Felicity but I get it. I also did love that the season ended with Oliver coming out as the Green Arrow cause now once he gets out (and of course he is) we don't have to deal with this whole the Green Arrow is a criminal thing again.

What a strange new world we're in huh? I'm flabbergasted that this show actually had the balls to not only out Oliver officially as the Green Arrow but also to send him to jail and keep their Big Bad of the season alive for at least until next season. What are we thinking? How long until Diaz is dead (I'd say around midseason) and how long with Oliver stay in jail (he'll be out before the midseason.) The team hasn't been reduced in number like I thought (totally thought Rene was done) but it does explain why Roy would be coming back next season cause his name has been cleared. It looks like it'll be Diggle as the GA, Roy as Arsenal and Felicity as Overwatch but it's up in the air as to whether the recruits will rejoin or still stay as a separate team that merges with Team Arrow when they have to. Black Siren will probs not join any team but float around helping here and there.

Gotham Season 4 Episode 22 Review

Why is Gotham such an insane show?? So much craziness happens week by week and it's amazing cause as long as you pretend that Gotham takes place in an alternate universe and ignore normal Batman canon, this show is one of the most entertaining! Tonight's finale was amazing! So many possible deaths and changes to be had before what will be Gotham's final season next year and those changes could be felt in the last few minutes of the episode where the board was reset.

Poor Selina spent the whole episode in the hospital and it sounds like she's not going to be able to walk when she wakes up. I would be sad of this outcome if Gotham didn't have Strange lurking around the city. I mean why even bother going to a regular doctor when Strange can literally bring people back to life?? It was heartbreaking when Bruce chose to stay in Gotham instead of going with Selina to whatever hospital she went to next cause he promised he'd stay by her side until she got better and I love my baby BatCat but when she wakes up alone after this, she might be pissed beyond measure and that might be the end of BatCat at least for a little while (though regardless of what Batman does, Catwoman always comes back.) It is probably the most Batman Bruce has been in this show so far though cause Batman always places the city over anyone and everything and though I wish it weren't the case, this was pretty accurate on his part.

We also seem to have lost Butch (again) right after he was turned back to being human and had a sweet reunion with Tabitha. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time cause I just felt like something was off in my bones and though I didn't expect Penguin to kill him, I knew something terrible was about to happen. I completely forgot that Tabitha killed Penguin's mom but I guess it had to brought back right before the final season cause it was a dangling thread. I do have the feels in whatever showdown there will be, Penguin will come out on top cause he's much more of a Batman villain than Tabitha is. Honestly I don't want any of them to die! And poor Tabitha and Butch can never be happy! What are the chances that Butch is dead dead? And why didn't Tabitha turn to Strange and be like fix him cause we know he can!

Barbara spent most of the episode trying to kill Ra's with Tabitha, Alfred and Penguin and I loved it. As much fun as insane villains like the Mad Hatter and Jeremiah are, my heart will always belong to the sane ones like the Sirens and Penguin cause it's just more fun for me to see them plan out intricate schemes and care for the city. They don't want to destroy Gotham, they want to rule it! It was interesting to see where Barbara ended up at the end of the episode with her decision that all the problems they've been facing is due to men being and honestly it's the truth. I'll be interested to see where this goes next season and if she'll end up reconciling with Jim by the end of it cause at first I was like nah he'd never see her as not evil but now that Lee is basically a criminal now too, I can see Barbara and Jim returning to each other's sides but at the same time, Barbara may have outgrown Jim as well.

Speaking of Jim's exes, I was into Lee and Ed for a hot second but after how whiny Ed/Riddler was tonight, I'm over them. He's too insecure for me to enjoy and his whole thing with kidnapping Jim to kill him cause he was afraid Lee would go back to Jim was ridiculous and petty and after Ed was like Lee chose me, I wanted Jim to make some snarky comment like congratulations what do you want a cookie? I did like the final Lee and Jim scene cause it does show us that these two still love each other madly but like ships in the night, the timing is never right. Jim is busy saving Gotham and Lee is busy saving the people of the Narrows. And did anyone really believe that Lee would leave in the first place? I actually did think that after Lee and Ed killed each other that while Ed may die, Lee might find a way to fix herself but Penguin bringing them to Strange was more compelling. I'm curious why he bothered to bring Lee though cause I know he wants Ed to himself and Lee is an obstacle in that path unless he thinks that Ed would be pissed at Lee for killing him.

Ra's and Jeremiah's big plan was to blow up the bridges leading in and out of Gotham in the hopes that doing so would cause Bruce to realize just how much the city needed him and for him to put on the cowl. I was surprised that their plan went off but I'm excited about it cause it does lead to a new Gotham next season! It looks like half the GCPD is gone, all the criminals are dividing up land and new villains are popping up out of the woodwork. We even got a Bat Signal lite and though the reason Jim gave for turning it on was super cheesy, I was grinning cause how could I not?? It's the Bat Signal!

I can't wait until next season already and I hope the conclusion to this amazing show is satisfying which I'm sure it will be! I'll see you all then!

Don't forget to check out my Arrow review later tonight!

Riverdale Season 2 Episode 22 Review

You know it's funny that I rarely review Riverdale even though I actually enjoy watching this show a lot more than Flash and sometimes Supergirl week by week but with so little time in my daily schedule, I don't always have the time to watch Riverdale live which is unfortunate cause this show is literally the most crazy one that I watch in that nothing makes sense on the regular and you can only watch it if you pretend like everyone is much older than they should be.

This show reminds me a lot of Gossip Girl if I'm being honest and Gossip Girl was one of my favorites growing up so it's no wonder. In both shows our main characters are supposed to be teens but they're twice as smart and cunning as the adults and their problems are so much bigger than silly things like relationship drama or who's sleeping with who, even more so in Riverdale than Gossip Girl. I originally compared it to Pretty Little Liars but I think the stakes in Riverdale are so much more intense cause it just feels like the tone was shifted away from teen drama.

Like remember last season when Archie's big problem was music or football? Now he's running around town searching for serial killers and threatening mobsters and getting framed for murder. The only thing that hasn't changed is how dumb/naive he is (in a sweet way.) I'm still curious about the whole blood oath thing he did a few episodes back with Hiram cause they all seem to have forgotten about it completely. Like shouldn't there be some sort of complications with that? Archie did win student council president which hilariously was set up right next to the voting for the mayor seat as if the high school president was just as important. Unfortunately Fred didn't win though I thought for a second he might have a chance after being so kind to the Serpents but it makes more sense for Hermione to win cause if she lost, Hiram would have been knocked down a peg and he's just the worst (in the best way possible!)

Veronica also went through some stuff. I think she's firmly back on the my dad is awful train like she was season 1 and for good reason. I do think that Hiram loves his family in a way but at the same time, his power is more important. Like I don't think he'd ever put a hit out on them but he will take Veronica out of the family metaphorically which he did do tonight. Veronica's arc this season was also kind of crazy in that again she's acting more like an adult than she is. She's been so involved in business all season and I really thought she would end up building that casino she talked about and that it would end up being the hotspot next season but instead it looks like we'll be getting some sort of bar/club in the basement of Pop's. I can see it now. The Pussycats headlining and all the drama happening. I did like her standing up to her father tonight with Hermione helping a little from the sidelines.

Interestingly enough I liked where we ended with Hiram. I felt like for a lot of this season despite all of his bluster, Hiram wasn't really all that much of a mobster boss. Every time there was a problem, the only backup Hiram seemed to have was Archie and Andre but I'm hoping that it was all a ploy for Hiram to dig his claws into Archie all the more. Hiram owns all of the Southside, controls the mayor's office, the Sheriff's and the biggest gang in Riverdale and seems to have tried to break up the core four so he's on top of the world. I loved that round table meeting of evil people at the end cause it ties everyone together perfectly. Claudius will bring drugs into Riverdale and the Ghoulies will sell it while the Sheriff looks the other way and Penny acts to protect them anytime anything goes wrong. The only outlier is Penelope who apparently is there cause she wants to open a brothel and I have to say, I laughed out loud when Hiram called her Madam. What decade are we living in??

Betty spent most of the episode and a lot of this season trying to understand her darkness and what that meant. I do agree with Jughead that Betty could never become her father even with all the darkness in the world not just because she's one of the main characters of this show but because I personally don't believe Betty has it in her. I loved her trying to protect her mom and how incredulous she was with Polly who wanted her to forgive her dad. I still feel like Polly's sketchy especially with that final scene where she convinced her mom to let a random guy from this farm she stayed at come to Riverdale and it makes me wonder if maybe that darkness Hal was talking about is actually in Polly rather than Betty. That'd be an awesome twist.

Unsuprisingly Jughead was fine after last week and honestly did anyone doubt it? Riverdale wouldn't have had the balls to kill one of their most popular characters (certainly my favorite even if Jughead makes the rashest decisions sometimes and it makes me want to smack him.) I loved that he was able to step up and protect the Serpents tonight and I really hope after this they no longer question him at every turn because he really did almost die for them. I love his relationship with FP and how much FP worried about Jug after the fact and I'm really glad Veronica was going to place him in charge of the Pop's basement area cause that means he'll stick around rather than leaving. Cheryl also joined the Serpents and hilariously got a red leather jacket rather than the normal one. Like seriously? Jughead also invited Betty to join and honestly I would love that so much. She can channel her darkness into being queen!

The Serpent storyline is the most interesting one this season cause I really started this season thinking that the Serpents were a gang and that Jughead joining was terrible but after watching the finale, the Serpents aren't portrayed as anything more than a family and might be one of my favorite parts of the show. Like remember when last season they got rid of bodies and attempted to smuggle drugs? Now they spend most of their time throwing parties and trying to save their lives on the regular. Despite how the Northside likes to view them, the Serpents rarely do anything gang-like and they're nowhere as terrible as the Ghoulies which is funny and not at all where I pictured this going.

Overall this was an incredible season of insanity and though I think I enjoyed season 1 better than season 2, there was plenty of amazing moments to be had and I cannot imagine how much better the next season will be!

Don't forget to check out my Gotham and Arrow season finale reviews tomorrow night!

The Flash Season 4 Episode 22 Review

Tonight was the penultimate episode of the Flash and overall I enjoyed it minus one plotline and a few things here and there. A lot of this episode was spent sitting around or talking about problems and there's nothing wrong with that other than the fact that I just personally prefer more action to sitting around especially in an episode where we're ramping to the finale.

Diggle was on the show tonight and that was such a positive to me though it was sad that he was only in like two scenes. I did realize right away that it wasn't actually Diggle cause the way David Ramsay played it was similar to The Thinker in the way he spoke and enunciated his words which was awesome. I also loved his scene with Barry and the team rushing to find him a trashcan for him to vomit into but I'm not sure why Diggle was in the episode at all to be honest. Like if the whole thing was going down in ARGUS, shouldn't Diggle have stuck around to help now that he's a part of it or at least call Lyla cause I know shit is going down in Star City right now too. I'm also not thrilled with how many times ARGUS pops up on Flash to be taken down by a meta cause it really makes the whole super secret powerful government spy organization seem weak.

The hallway fight scene where DeVoe murdered a bunch of ARGUS agents while instrumental music played in the background was pretty damn awesome though and it was probably my favorite fight scene of the night. Also it's kind of hilarious and totally lame that it took DeVoe 10 hours for him to get his generator charged. Like Siren X did the same thing in minutes but it's understandable cause the show needed to drag it out so the final showdown could take place at the end of the episode. I really enjoyed DeVoe tonight and how he views this Enlightenment as a way to educate the masses playing on the fact that he was a professor at one point. The whole plan on Barry's end seemed kind of silly cause like DeVoe said, of course he'd have a backup plan. They really should have had a way to take out more than one satellite just in case he had a backup to the one they destroyed.

I really wish I could be in the writers' room sometimes after episodes like this because I really would love to know why Barry is constantly written to be an ass. Over the course of 4 seasons we've learned that Barry is a terrible leader, a terrible mentor and cannot make a decision to save his life. How many times do we have to repeat the same storyline of Barry attempting to train someone and then getting frustrated and shutting down. He did it with Wally, Ralph and now Caitlin and Cisco. Why on Earth would a show want to write their main character like that?? Someone explain it to me. How can you blame me for disliking Barry?

We had some really annoying stuff with Joe and Cecile tonight as well and honestly this whole thing should have been thrown out. I still don't understand where Cecile's meta ability came from and none of these scenes were funny. I really wanted to fast-forward through them. I assume the baby will be born next week and it's about damn time. I miss the Cecile from before.

Some of my favorite scenes in this episode had to do with Iris and Harry and Marlize. I loved that Harry was the one to come up with the idea of finding Marlize to turn her. Iris was a little harsh in her response and though I understand why the idea of Marlize hits close to home for her, it was unexpected cause Iris is usually more calm and logical and tonight she refused to even acknowledge the idea that Marlize in her mind was doing good. I can forgive all of it though due to the amazing scene we got between Iris and Marlize at the end when Iris tried to convince Marlize that she was optimistic at one point and she still is under all the conditioning DeVoe put her through and I loved it. Like I said two weeks ago, I wouldn't have minded if Marlize became a Bigger Big Bad for this season but I also like the idea of her joining Team Flash. I wonder if Marlize will end up killing DeVoe in the end as a way of saving him from himself.

We also got a bit of progression on the whole Caitlin/Killer Frost thing and honestly it's left me more confused than before. We learn that Caitlin apparently has this memory she repressed from when she was young that we've never heard of before and that apparently Killer Frost was with her as a child before the particle accelerator. Does this make Caitlin some sort of mutant? Or maybe she was experimented on as a kid and gained these powers then. I don't love this idea cause if KF was with Caitlin all the time and like DID patients is another personality, shouldn't KF have come out multiple times over the past few seasons like when Ronnie died (both times) or when Hunter kidnapped her or when any meta kidnapped her in general? At the same time, I am a little interested in this cause we also just learned about a father we didn't know for Caitlin and I think it would be seriously awesome if her dad was also an ice-based villain from DC like Icicle or Mr Freeze. Maybe it was her dad that was experimented on while she thought he had ALS and then he passed it on to her like Black Lightning.

Oooh the promo for next week's finale episode looks super intense and really interesting! I love when the way to take down a villain is more than punching. I can't wait!

Also don't forget to check out my Riverdale finale review tomorrow night followed by Gotham and Arrow finales Thursday night!

Supergirl Season 3 Episode 18 Review

I'm sorry but I think I'm over this whole season. I cannot get behind Reign/Sam as a villain and I cannot stand Ruby and because of this, season 3 of Supergirl is leaving a terrible taste in my mouth which is unfortunate cause I do love this show.

Let's start with the most interesting stuff and that was the J'onn and Myr'nn stuff. My heart still breaks every time J'onn has a scene with his father and tonight was no different. It was so sad to see how depressed Myr'nn was at the start of the episode and how he was slowly losing all concept of the present. I was glad that he was able to help Kara and J'onn with Reign though it did feel kind of contrived that Kara wouldn't know that to get to Reign, she had to appeal to Reign's sense of justice but I can let that go cause I enjoy every moment we get with Myr'nn. It was heartbreaking once again to see him repeat the same conversation he just had with J'onn at the end of the episode because amidst all the comic book craziness that's happening on screen, this is the most real. I feel for them and every time we see more of this storyline, I wish we could spend more time with them.

The second most interesting part of this episode was with Lena specifically her interactions with Supergirl and Kara. Like I said before, I'm so over James and I'm not really feeling her relationship with him. I don't know what it is but straight up Mehcad has had no chemistry with any of the ladies he's been paired up with since the start of the show and it's unfortunate cause we're supposed to believe that Lena and James are really into each other but meh. What does work for me is the growing tension between Lena and Kara and how real it feels. I have been wanting villain Lena since she appeared on the show cause you can't have a Super show without a Luthor and I worried a bit that the show would never pull the trigger on Lena but I'm actually loving how subtle and nuanced Lena's turn is. Unlike Reign or Killer Frost last season, she isn't suddenly evil but we're slowly seeing why Lena might not trust Supergirl anymore.

I loved that Lena had good intentions with the Kryptonite and her argument about why Supergirl is too proud made sense to me. I know a car/gun is different than Kryptonite but I understood the argument Lena was making and I believed in it to a degree. I loved that it led to Lena calling out Supergirl for wanting to be a god and that by the end of the episode, she was no longer on Supergirl's side cause it would have been super cheesy if she suddenly decided to forgive Supergirl especially after Supergirl used her personal relationship against her to spy on Lena. That was crossing the line and even if Kara claims that it was for a good cause blah blah blah, it was wrong and I can't wait to see more of this tension between the two grow. I wonder if next season would be too early for Lena to become the Big Bad. If I had to pick, I'd hold off another season and let the tension grow for one more cause the tenser the relationship between the two, the more believable Lena's turn to her Luthor side would be!

We had some great Brainy scenes tonight but like always he's underused and that's sad. We got a great moment where he gave Winn some future dirt and was like based on my calculations you seemed like someone who collected dirt and though I'm not sure if it was supposed to be funny or not, I died. I also loved that he bugged the dirt and tried to kiss Winn. I hope he's not gone for good but I have a feeling that we'll see him maybe one more time before he's done for good. We also got some more Imra and saw the Legion attempt to leave for the future which is still confusing to me cause I thought the whole point was that there was no portal to the future and that they needed to go the long way around unless that was part of the lie Imra and Brainy told Mon El. That would make sense cause Mon El was able to turn around while the others left.

Imra told Mon El to stay and help Kara and figure out whether he wants to be with her or Kara. I'm still going on the assumption that Mon El is going to pick Kara in the end and I still believe that. I just wish he was less wishy washy about the whole thing cause it's clear to anyone with eyes that he still loves Kara and probably loves her more than Imra and I wish with this new personality that he has that he was able to talk about it like an adult with Imra before she basically gave him permission to leave her. I don't like in love triangles when the person that they end up with feels more like a consolation prize than the main choice. I've been struggling with this concept over on Timeless as well in that both cases have crazy circumstances but at least Mon El is doing better at making Kara seem like his first choice than Wyatt is doing with Lucy.

We had some annoying stuff with Ruby and Alex and I'm just irritated with the whole thing. I hate hate hate when in shows someone is being held somewhere for their safety and that person throws a fit about it or wants to leave or wants to call someone. Like seriously have you never seen a tv show or movie in your life? You never call someone cause a cell signal can be traced! Goddamn it Ruby. And then she takes it out on Alex about lying to her and I'm like yeah cause you're adult enough to hear the truth and not act like an idiot. I really expected her to run out of the mansion when Alex turned away rather than call her mom. Can someone kill her already please? I cannot stand any more of this character. Sam's adoptive mom wasn't any better and I'm so glad they killed her off cause I really thought after that scene in the DEO that she'd miraculously survive.

The final fight between Mon El, Kara, Alex and Reign was great though I was disappointed that Reign was able to get into that secret vault. You would think that Lex Luthor of all people would have built his secret vault room let alone his whole mansion as Kryptonian proof. I know Reign isn't fully Kryptonian in the first place which is annoying cause the writers seem to pick and choose when Kryptonite affects her. Remember a few episodes back when she was injected with Kryptonite and basically shook it off before flying away? Lena did say she modified it to specifically affect Reign so I guess I can give it a bit of a pass. I still don't like cape tricks that much but I did like how Kara and Mon El worked together to hold Reign while Alex shot her and then how Mon El crushed the Kryptonite into the gun and then shot Reign with it.

Sidebar, is Mon El technically more indestructible than Kara now cause her weakness is still Kryptonite but Mon El was cured of his lead allergy in the 31st century. With his powers, I wouldn't say he's stronger than Kara but at least he's more invulnerable right?

Ugh it looks like next week's episode is a Guardian/James centric one which is annoying but I'm trying to keep an open mind cause one of my favorite episodes last season was the James centric one. I do think the placement of this episode was weird cause where we should be ramping up towards the finale, we're actually taking a side trip to play around with other storylines.

All new Flash tomorrow night! Keep an eye out!

Arrow Season 6 Episode 22 Review

This was an okay episode of Arrow though it wasn't as good as last week's. We got a lot of great fights and where we ended was strange but I'm down. My only struggle is that this doesn't feel like a great penultimate episode cause nothing really happened tonight that wasn't there before. Any plans that were made on Team Arrow's side fell through and at the same time, no one got hurt even though I was expecting it.

So the episode opened with everyone except Dinah being all cute with their families before it all went to hell. Oliver, Felicity and William were having dinner, Zoey and Rene were watching hockey, John and Lyla were about to go to date night and Curtis and Nick were flirting in Helix Dynamics. I loved this opening cause I love when Arrow leaves room to breathe and gives us a few minutes with our team and their lives outside of the hero world. Unlike Flash and Supergirl, it's rare to see this so I'm always happy when the show gives us this no matter how much others complain. It was a little sad to see how different Dinah's off time was compared to the others cause she doesn't have anyone since Vincent died.

Also sidebar, I still don't entirely understand why Diaz was so pissed about someone tipping the crew about an incoming attack. Like Anatoly texted Oliver like a few seconds before Diaz's men jumped in so that wasn't much of a warning.

Speaking of Diaz, he seems to have basically lost it tonight. He was on the edge ever since Oliver was acquitted and it seems like he's falling apart by killing Quadrant members left and right. Also how in the hell is the city not like wow look our former mayor's apartment just got shot up, some shit is going down. It also doesn't help that Diaz is straight up working out of the police precinct at the moment like dude aren't you supposed to be working in the shadows or something? How does the whole city not know who you are already? I did enjoy seeing Anatoly play him like a fiddle tonight. It's actually pretty easy to once you know how Diaz works. Honestly it's just nice seeing Anatoly back on our side.

I'm still not really into the recruits but Rene did redeem himself in my eyes last week (honestly I'm pretty forgiving cause I have a short attention span and I kind of knew that everyone was written mostly out of character so I can give them a slide) and Dinah was so badass this episode that I just couldn't hate her. I'm not sure that enjoy is the right word for how I felt about the recruits, ARGUS and Oliver and Felicity working together but I was glad that they were able to and we didn't have to hear a single word about trust (minus Oliver's opening speech.)

I can't lie though, I really hoped and kind of expected Curtis to die when Diaz stabbed him. I'm still trying to figure out who's going to be gone by the end of the season with the shakeups in the cast for next season. Like if Roy comes back and Black Siren is redeemed, there would be waaaaay to many people in the bunker which also may or may not exist anymore. In my perfect world, it would be Diggle, Felicity, Oliver, Roy and either Black Siren or Dinah while Curtis dies and Rene leaves to be with Zoey. With Curtis's death, Helix Dynamics can be Smoak Tech and Diaz may finally feel like a real threat.

Felicity and Oliver fought a little this episode as well cause Oliver was struggling to feel okay with allowing Felicity to be out in the field because of William and not only was this really silly and unbelievable besides the fact that we need some tension here, it was super misogynistic of Oliver to want Felicity to stay back with William and use their son as an excuse. I kind of wish if we had to deal with this drama it had been more towards Oliver fearing losing his wife in the field more cause focusing on William losing Felicity is hypocritical cause he doesn't care that Lyla, Diggle and Rene all have kids too. I'm glad Felicity and Diggle called him out on it and it was resolved fairly quickly. It did lead to a funny scene between Felicity and Lyla discussing marriage so it wasn't as terrible as it could have been.

Also another sidebar, though we all know that the show won't kill Felicity, was anyone else hoping that Diaz would hurt her a little? I loved that she gave him the trigger for the bomb and that saved them from Diaz but at the same time I was hoping he would get to her a little....

The end of the episode showed us Oliver going to Watson for help which is super strange like I said before. What on earth can Watson do? She's just a lawyer. If he needs to go get help, go to Barry or the Legends. We know Sara is coming back for the finale so maybe he does do that. Watson is still bitter af because she made Oliver say that he was the Green Arrow before she would work for him but I don't really think it matters. Does double jeopardy work here? Oliver was arrested twice for the same crime and according to the law found not guilty both times so he can't be charged again can he?

Next week's finale looks pretty good. It looks like Diaz is officially like eff this nonsense and pulling out of Star City after he blows it up. We still never got an explanation as to why he decided he needed Star City. Like straight up there's tons of other cities to take over and other than Central City and Star City, none of them have superheroes guarding them. Why not pick one of those to take over? I can't wait to see how Sara comes into the picture and if we lose Quentin cause we know this is Paul Blackthorne's last season of Arrow.

The Flash Season 4 Episode 21 Review

Tonight's episode should have been fun with the return of Amunet but instead I felt as though the episode dragged a bit which was unfortunate.

So Team Flash's big plan tonight was to find Amunet and convince her to help them destroy the satellites that DeVoe has built because her powers are basically unhackable by DeVoe. I liked the idea of this but it did make me curious as to why they couldn't just use the Cold Gun or Vibe's vibe blasts to destroy the satellites cause neither of those are hackable either. Well I'm not going to complain too much cause it gave us an excuse to see Amunet again. I love her dynamic with Caitlin and how even though Amunet isn't a good person, she sees something in Caitlin and seems to want to protect her and that's precious to me. I was a little disappointed with how the storyline went in that Flash and co had to convince her that helping was in her best interest only for her to turn on the them at the end only for Flash and co to convince her that helping would be in her best interest. Like seriously? DeVoe's big plan is going to affect everyone, hero or villain and you would think that the villains would care enough to step up.

Sidebar how freaking cool would it have been if the end of this season led to Flash teaming up with his Rogues to take down DeVoe cause like I said, everyone has a stake in this.

Instead it looks like we'll be getting the citizens of Central City to help out through some sort of tipline or something. I wasn't a huge fan of Iris's storyline tonight but I guess I am glad that the show remembered that she's a reporter again. I didn't like her big plan however. Iris kept talking about how the people deserved to know what DeVoe was planning so they could protect themselves and I'm sitting here like there's no possible way to protect yourself. An article like that would do nothing more than cause panic. But then again this is the Flash and not Arrow so of course something like this wouldn't backfire and the people would rush up to help. I hope there's more to this than a few people liking her article cause if the show spent a whole episode on why we should let the people know the truth, it better have some sort of meaning!

Caitlin also progressed a little with her Killer Frost problem. Before we talk about that, can someone remind me why on Earth Caitlin can't just expose herself to dark matter again to bring out KF? I was pretty sure all that fake science we got a few episodes ago proved that her metagenes were still inside her so logically if dark matter brought KF out the first time, shouldn't it work the same the second time? Anyhow tonight Caitlin learned that she can't bring KF back through science but instead she needs to look inside herself cause the first time around a splicer didn't do anything. I like the idea of this cause it shows that Caitlin just needed to trust in herself and not look for help elsewhere but how much do we want to bet that some time in the future, the way we do this is through some weird tech that allows her to go into her mind and chat with KF. Where's Brainy's weird parallel world tech when you need it??

Oh and there was some dumb stuff with Harry and Cisco. I wasn't the hugest fan of the whole Council of Harrison Wells the first time around and it wasn't any less silly this time. I feel like this whole thing was just played for comedy and to remind us that Tom Cavanagh is a great actor (as if we'd forgotten.) Eventually we were able to get Harry to realize that the reason that DeVoe wasn't active at the moment is because he's somehow lost his wife which I'm confused as to how he would even know that. I did love the scene where he draws on the board and talks about how he thought his drawing was super complicated.

Next week is the penultimate episode and the start of DeVoe's plan so it seems. As much fun as it would be if The Thinker actually started his evil plan (maybe only affecting Central City before he's thwarted) cause that would lead to so many fun dynamics, I wonder how he's going to be stopped for real. We didn't see any Marlize tonight either but it's possible that she stops him. It would be funny if she killed DeVoe next week and then took over his plan making her the Big Bad in the finale.

I'll see you all Thursday for my Arrow review!

Supergirl Season 3 Episode 17 Review

I'm not entirely sure how I felt about this episode. There were lots of fun things, some that I didn't understand and the appearance of my least favorite Kara aka the holier than thou one.

Like I said my least favorite Kara is the one who believes that she's right and everyone else is wrong. For almost two seasons Kara has been going on and on about how Lena is a good person but one mistake and suddenly Kara's no longer in Lena's corner. Now Lena has never been my favorite character and honestly if she left the show it wouldn't be any big deal but this situation is just unfair.  I always love (that's sarcasm if you can't feel it) how Kara is so against lies but then she goes around telling the biggest lie. Lena still doesn't know that she is Supergirl and it's hypocritical of Kara to be like well I haven't told you yet cause you're a Luthor. This coming from the girl who got all sorts of fake evidence over the last two years that Lena was doing sketchy things but continued to support her.

Honestly I was a bit disappointed in pretty much everyone in the DEO to be honest with their handling of the Lena situation but I get where they're coming from cause if Lena had turned to them, Reign would be securely held and Lena could have experimented on her there with Alex and Winn and Brainy. I did like that James decided not to break into the vault because he trusts Lena and honestly Kara put him in a real shitty situation in the first place. Although sidebar I laughed out loud when James literally outed Kara's shenanigans to Lena at the end. I do think that though Lena had good intentions so far, I feel like this moment in which Supergirl distrusted her is going to lay the seeds of distrust and bring out Lena's Luthor instincts which I'm pumped for.

The main plot of this episode had to do with Kara, Lena and Alex going into that weird parallel universe valley world to get Sam to wake up and tell them where she was. As much fun as this was, I still think it's hilarious how science works in this world. Like Brainy literally was just able to create a way to get to this world that he's never visited or doesn't know anything about? Sounds about right to me. Still anytime Brainy is on screen, I'm happy. I loved him being like give me fifteen minutes and I'm your man. His interactions with Winn never cease to amuse me either. When he was like this is the bathroom and Winn's shocked, I snickered. I was a little annoyed that Lena took the helm of the ship during the fight cause I get it this is Supergirl's show and all the ladies are badass but there's literally no way that Lena would have been able to run the Legion ship with it's future tech right away. Please stop pushing Brainy to the side, he's amazing.

Mon El and his love for Kara progressed tonight as well. I mean is it not obvious to pretty much everyone watching that he's going to stay here and choose Kara? The only hesitation I can see is probably going to be from Kara. I do like that the show wrote the love triangle without making Imra the bad guy. If Imra had turned evil or bitchy or whatever and Mon El chose Kara, it wouldn't have been because he loved Kara more, it would have been sort of by default and I hate that in a storyline like this. It's more impactful if the only thing that makes Mon El stay is that his love for Kara is stronger. I love the Legion and I'm just sad that we didn't get enough of them this season though I understand that it's Kara's show so we couldn't give them too much screen time.

We were able to defeat Purity and Pestilence by the end and though Imra and Mon El seem to think that they stopped the Blight, I have a feeling based on the animation that the powers of Purity and Pestilence didn't die with them but went into Reign which would make her even more badass. It's too bad they don't have a way to check the future now cause it would hardcore suck if the Legion left thinking everything will be fine only to find out that nothing changed. Also what was with that question of can we even go back to the future? Can't they just climb back into their stasis pods and sleep until the 31st century like they did before? Or was that part of the lie Imra and Brainy told Mon El?

Ahh based on the promo for next week, I was right about Reign absorbing the powers of Purity and Pestilence and luckily the Legion figure that out before they leave. Reign is hunting for Ruby but I'm sure that Supergirl and co will stop her.

Don't forget to also tune into my Flash review tomorrow night!

Agents of SHIELD Season 5 Episode 20 Review

Ugh guys I hate it when my family fights! And fighting amongst themselves is all our SHIELD team has been doing and it's so hard to watch cause I love everyone and I don't want to pick sides!!

Talbot has officially lost his mind and it was horrifying and so anxiety filling the whole time cause it was pretty obvious that he was slowly losing his mind. We were all in a slow ticking time bomb waiting for the moment that Talbot snapped and snap he did. I actually gasped out loud when Hale was killed (though I saw it coming) and I almost screamed when Papa Kasius appeared out of the dark. It totally fits in line with Talbot to have gone mad since though we all love Talbot, we all know that he's not the most perfect character and the Gravitonium seems to have emphasized all his worst traits and paranoia. It is a little odd that he was so quick to turn on Coulson and believed aliens that he never met before but they did flatter him and Talbot has never been truly immune to that before.

Who else called it that the big threat coming for the Earth was Thanos after all?? I'm excited that the tie in to Infinity War was much larger than the throwaway line from last week and I'm curious if next week's episode will show the aftermath or the rest of the season will take place around the same time as Infinity War thus allowing any changes the film universe to be placed on the back-burner until next season if we get one.

It was also pretty shocking that Daisy's powers seemed to have no affect on Talbot and that he flung her around like a doll. Papa Kasius has Daisy now and I'm curious about how this season is going to end cause it really does look like everything sucks for our crew and that their enemies are so much more powerful. Everyone remaining though badass in their own ways are only human and the only inhuman who could have stood a chance doesn't seem to be able to affect Talbot.

Back in the base, we had a really dumb argument between YoYo and Daisy in which YoYo was acting kind of childish. Yes Daisy did go rogue and do the same thing YoYo is being attacked for but at the same time, I don't think the outcome would have been totally different if she was in the base at the same time. Who knows if her powers would work on them or not. I did love Daisy's scene with Deke cause it killed me. I love how he just popped in and was like what's in the bag and then she was like some weirdo has been putting lemons on my bed and he blamed Fitz like a champ (which though hilarious probably would have fit season 1 or even season 2 Fitz better than battle worn season 5.) I loved that Deke held back from telling her his feelings when he realized that she still loved Lincoln (which awww) and instead told her about being Fitzsimmons' grandkid which I guess confirms that they didn't tell everyone off screen so only Fitzsimmons, YoYo and now Daisy know.

Speaking of Fitz, he and Mack got into a fight today too though I feel like Mack mostly took out his anger about YoYo on him. I'm way over Mack's holier-than-you attitude of recent. SHIELD is literally a spy agency that worked in the shadows for decades and decades. What the hell did Mack think that meant? And what a damn low blow when he told Fitz that of course he would believe that sometimes hurting the few to save the many works. I'm totally on Fitz's side in that the world is not black and white and Mack needs to see that. I'm not saying that everything Fitz and Simmons and YoYo did was right but they meant well. I do think Mack calling out Fitz to look at himself will actually cause him to do so and maybe we'll get the Fitz from before to come back out a little more.

Also if we're talking morals and black and white standards, Daisy commanding Jemma to experiment on her dead mom isn't all that great either. What do you have to say about that Mack?? What Jemma's doing isn't any different than Whitehall and I'm not thrilled with the parallel. When even Fitz who has the Doctor inside him looks a bit squeamish, you know things are off.

Next week is the penultimate episode and I'm surprised cause I didn't know that we were so close to the end! I can't wait to see how our team is able to break the time loop and save the world (cause duh of course they are.) I also hope we get more Infinity War tie ins.

I'll see you all Monday for my Supergirl review!

Arrow Season 6 Episode 21 Review

What an epic and intense episode of Arrow we had tonight! So many feels! I hardcore don't even know where to start with cause so much happened. I guess since pretty much everything happened during the trial we can mostly go chronologically.

So the trial starts and like we assumed the judge and the jury were both paid off by Diaz though I was surprised that Diaz let the prosecutor be a legit one cause to me Diaz seems like he would want to control every single aspect of everything so why leave anything up to chance (no pun intended lol.) It was interesting to watch this trial compared to the trial on the Flash earlier this season (cause seriously how can you not) because of how different it was. The Flash's trial was legit but Barry couldn't allow himself or anyone else to lie on the stand so he had no evidence to prove his innocence which is why he lost while Team Arrow had "fake" evidence on evidence to prove Oliver's innocence but Arrow's trial was dirty from top to bottom which is they almost lost. It never ceases to be funny to me how different the ideals of Oliver are vs Barry and Kara (even if I prefer Oliver's stand.) I loved that Oliver basically cheated to win and I have no gumption about it cause it's not like the trial was all that legit in the first place.

Despite that, it was hard to see all our loved ones ripped apart on the stand. Well all except Curtis who for some reason didn't get called to the stand (probs cause he doesn't have anyone/anything to be threatened with by Diaz) and Dinah who was the worst at being questioned and really should have listened to Rene about practicing. It was super annoying to see her be like why the hell do you even care Rene at the beginning of the episode cause I really wanted to smack her but this episode might have redeemed Rene for me just a smidge. My heart broke when Diaz brought Rene's daughter into the courthouse to threaten him and how stunned and frightened he was and that it was ultimately Oliver who gave Rene the permission to say that he was the Green Arrow. I still will never understand why Rene didn't come to Oliver when he was first threatened by Watson but since Oliver forgave him tonight and Rene seemed to forgive Oliver, I will too. I am curious about why no one thought to put Zoey in ARGUS cause it seems obvious to me that Diaz would have threatened her life.

Diggle was MVP tonight by flying all the way to Kasnia to get Human Target and being the most badass at the start of the episode. I also loved how he testified though it was irritating as hell when the prosecutor rolled over Diggle when he tried to talk. I know why this had to happen but it wasn't any less annoying. She did the same to Felicity later which I'll talk about in a second. What also didn't make the most sense to me was how her pointed statement about Diggle getting hurt a lot was evidence that maybe he wasn't all that straight and I'm sitting here like dude the city is attacked basically every year so of course their would be causalities and I kind of wish Diggle had said something to that affect though like I said she rolled right over him and didn't let him speak. I did love that he and Oliver apparently came up with a whole plan before this which means that though Diggle is working with ARGUS now, he still loves Oliver like a brother and they do still trust each other enough to reach for help.

Felicity also killed it on the stand. She was very calm and collected and I was so proud of her for not babbling (Oliver was too.) I loved that she was able to use her brain to explain why the photo was doctored and how silly it was to doctor a photo because if Oliver was the Green Arrow then there would be ample proof or at least a real photo of him. I also loved that she was able to shoot down the theory that she and Oliver got married for spousal privilege (which I'm so glad the lawyers talked about cause I was confused for a second as to why she was even testifying) because I love when she and Oliver talk about how much they love each other. I wasn't a huge fan of the prosecutor's pointed statement that she thought discredited Felicity being about her father cause again like with Diggle, she rolled over Felicity but I'm not sure why Felicity didn't discredit that. Her father left her when she was like 5 or 6 so how on Earth was she supposed to know that he was a criminal compared to Oliver who she's married to. Like how is that a parallel. I did love her badass line about not being a hacker and that she would love to see the prosecutor find anything to contradict that. That's my girl!

Now onto the best part of the episode. Tommy freaking Merlyn!!! Yeah yeah it wasn't actually Tommy like we all called last week and yeah it was the Human Target playing him but it was so sweet to see Colin O'Donnell again and I don't care how or why he shows up because the more Tommy the better. Why can't he be the character with 50 doppelgangers that keep popping up left and right like the Laurel ones?? God Colin looked so good in the Green Arrow costume and I always thought that maybe Stephen was the only one that could pull it off cause when David wore it, it never really looked right but I think probs cause Colin's build is similar to Stephen's, it worked. Anyway back to the topic on hand, I loved that he came down from the ceiling all badass and took the stand to explain what was happening. It was the perfect play given that a dead character wouldn't have to go into hiding or suffer any consequences like Roy did.

Black Siren finally redeemed herself as well tonight. I was actually pretty sure from the promos that she wouldn't testify against Oliver and that she would be like the Green Arrow isn't him cause after last week when she was wavering and clearly not on the Diaz boat anymore, I assumed she was pretty much entirely redeemed and that eventually she would pull up her big girl pants and realize that she was stronger and more badass than Diaz. I loved that she said that Tommy was the Green Arrow and was basically like screw you Diaz and tried to kill him. I am a little annoyed with how the whole thing ended cause seriously Arrow, Black Siren is stronger than Diaz by far and one Canary Cry should have knocked him out cause it's done that so many times before. Like her Cry literally took down a building on Flash last season, knocking one non-powered man should be nothing. It would have made more sense if Black Siren walked up to Diaz and couldn't Canary Cry at all cause he turned the dampener on the moment he saw her. I was also surprised that he didn't kill her. I was really expecting Black Siren to die tonight and I'm a little disappointed it didn't happen cause it makes no sense from Diaz's perspective not to. He had no hesitation in killing the judge when he clearly knows the judge didn't cross him.

I do have to say that I wasn't surprised when the judge ruled Oliver's sentencing as null because I assumed that somehow Rene and Diggle must have either freed whoever Diaz was keeping captive to keep the judge in check or just straight out threatened the judge to get him to do this. I completely forgot that Human Target was still around to step in cause I assumed that he was one and done like so many characters that pop in to help. Suck on that Diaz. I was surprised overall that the show let Oliver go cause I really thought that he would reveal his identity by the end of the season and get out only by proving that he's the only one in the city trying to be good cause everyone else was bought. I thought that Diaz would need to be exposed for Oliver to be safe but I'm kind of glad it ended up this way.

Next week looks great as well. Diaz is going to try to kill everyone (and obvi fail) which is both hilarious and kind of annoying. Annoying cause he's defaulted back to the villain trope that all villains do in let's kill all the loved ones to stop. I do like that this was Plan B rather than Plan A cause at least for a few episodes, we had something fresh. It's hilarious cause again Diaz is not a scary Big Bad at all. His strength lies in having the whole city on his payroll and keeping Oliver and Team Arrow away from him. The second he's alone, he's as good as dead. I assume after these coordinated attacks that everyone will be trying to hide in ARGUS to stay safe. Speaking of, Lyla's back next week so that's exciting!

I'll see you all tomorrow for my Agents of SHIELD review!
